Welcome to the thirteenth installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extrav

Welcome to the thirteenth installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by CrazyKinux. The EVE Blog Banter involves an enthusiastic group of gaming bloggers, a common topic within the realm of EVE Online, and a week to post articles pertaining to the said topic. The resulting articles can either be short or quite extensive, either funny or dead serious, but are always a great fun to read! Any questions about the EVE Blog Banter should be directed here. Check out other EVE Blog Banter articles at the bottom of this post!

The first banter of this 2nd year of EVE Blog Banters comes to us from Zargyl from A Sebiestor Scholar, who asked the following: On the EVE Fanfest 2009 page are pictures of prizes for the Silent Auction that was held during the event. One of these photos was entitled “Design your own EVE mission”. My question now would be what kind of mission would you write if you got that prize? What would the mission be about? Would it be one using the new system of epic mission arks? What would be the story told by it? Feel free to expand upon his questions and put together your very own mission!

CCP has stated that Eve is a social game and that they want players reacting together and playing together, and missions rarely do that beyond a certain skill proficiency level. I now do 4’s in a passive drake and still go AFK with full agro. I’m not on comms, not in corp or allaince chat, not even at my computer. Where’s the “fun” in that? Why should making money in “game” be as monotonous as making money in RL?

Missions are a way to make money in a “game” that is about “people.” Make missions fun, people-oriented, cash flow devices they should be. Make high level missions i.e. 4’s, 5’s and some high quality 3’s, require friends and enemies to complete. More on the enemies later.

I would write a level 4 mission that didn’t SUCK. Seriously, missions suck. Epic Arcs helped but not enough. The new pirate arcs look cool but don’t really change anything. So here we go…

First things, rats are dumb, D-U-M-B, dumb. Sleepers got better and can make you sweat until you read the posts and then they are a slightly better version of the classic rat. Rats need to move like players, be less predictable, move and act like a player, FIT MODS THAT REAL PVP SHIPS FIT. How many times have you ran a level 4, looted it, and upon arriving in station find 10x of mining laser I’s, some cargo scanners and other worthless junk that no self respecting pirate that was supposedly “threatening” empire space would ever carry on his ship. What was he stealing, asteroids that are free to mine by edict of CONCORD?

Rats should act like people. Not the crazy unpredictable people, but statistical people, people that follow the known way of killing an enemy. Rats should call primary, switch primary if tank isn’t breaking, use ECM, damps, tracking disruptors, drones and various other PvP mods and tactics.

When I warp into a level 4 from a +19 agent I shouldn’t see 30 BS, 10 BC, 5 C, and 15 frigs and think “Ho, hum, I guess I could go mow the lawn while the drones do this for me.” WTF kind of game drives its player base to the “honeydo” list. I sat down to escape the “honeydo” list. Instead I should see 4 RR battleships and a combat recon protecting a hauler throwing up a tower in the wrong empires space, or even a mixed bc/cruiser fleet “harassing” that poor transport. Make the rats make sense. I run missions in Caldari space and I keep wondering “Why do I stay in Caldari space when the Gallente can build a STARGATE inside it and all the empire can muster is me to beat them back?” At the same time after I pop a 50 man Gallente fleet in a drake I know why I don’t fly for the Gallente empire.

So now I better have 3-4 friends in fleet and treat this mission as if it were a low-sec/0.0 roam. I will need remote reps, points, ECCM, and various other PvP goodies to take down these rats.

No bounties. When I pop a Raven class battleship in a level 4 mission from a +10 agent, that raven better drop ‘Arbalest’ or T2 launchers, Invuln’ II’s, cap injectors, drones, a scram/disruptor, anything that makes sense and that gets me paid since there is no bounty.

And now to the actual mission. I would make it a not quite epic arc in number of missions but definitely epic in scale. Option. would include warping to a tower that is online or is guarded and being onlined, running gate camps, scanning out a plex, jumping through that star gate the Gallente built in Abagawa.

The Tranquility Shard has a huge amount of player information at it digital finger tips. It just needs to harvest that data to bring players together.

A rough outline would be:

1 of #: “Recon” We have detected a large number of ship explosions on the X gate in Y system. Please recon the phenomenon and remote back your findings.

Now players have to interact as the mission sends them together because these are actual players camping this gate. The missioner might need to report the number of ships or ships classes or corp of gate campers or alliance of campers. Multiple choice option might be best for this mission when turning it in.

2 of #: “Gauge their strength” this would be a 2 option mission friends or solo. You could grab a group of friends and smash the camp or the agent gives you a small, cheap fitted ship and takes some collateral and orders you to engage he camp with the intention of losing it. Now if you win the fight you get the loot, the ship, and your collateral back. If you die then, oh well, turn in the KM and the agent will give you the next mission.

This again bring players together and produces PvP which is never a bad thing.

3 of #: “POS Games” This mission would require you to do one of to things. Either put up a small POS for your agent (POS has no trade value) which would require you to provide escort and a hauler, or warp to a pos being onlined and stop it because that pilot chose the online a POS mission about 10 minutes before you selected the POS Siege mission.

This would yet again bring players together and introduce people to POS mechanics on a micro scale. This would require serious balancing, possible acceleration gates to limit the number of people from each side of the mission from getting in so it is fair and nobody gets white-washed. The agents would also remove GCC while in the deadspace so concord doesn’t get all trigger happy

4 of #: “Charge the Gate” vs “Stop the Spy” this would be a mission that would be generated if 2 players requested missions within seconds of each other. The StS missioners would warp to a deadspace complex and it would put them at 0 on a “hidden stargate” like in the current missions. The CtG group would warp to same deadspace but be 30+ KM off gate. The object would be for the StS guys to prevent the missioner from jumping through the gate in a BC or bigger, while carrying cargo that can’t be looted out of the deadspace (it prevents warp while in cargo in the complex). PvP ensues and players interact with players.

These are examples of missions that don’t suck, are fun and engaging, increase your skills at Eve and can be macro’d or bot’ted. The rewards would have to balance and a hundred other little ideas but fixing rats and having missions involve more people makes it more engaging for everyone in New Eden.

The poor women who cannot find any other jobs also need to eat, and their families need to eat, too. This problems can have everywhere in the world, not only in Thailand. A friend of my friend had to prostitute herself because her mother got cancer. She was just a college student and she had no money. Her father did not be with her anymore. (I can say that most of Thai guys are not different from other countries, they like to have second wife. Thailand does not have a law as in USA that the ex-husband has to pay for his ex-wife.) Lastly she got HIV. I am so sorry for her, a nice daughter. I did talk with my friends about her. If anyone is in this situation, he/she should as other people for help rather than just hurting oneself. The mass media always love to help everyone. If there is really no way to do other things, they said that she should have let her mother died, because her mother would be so sad to see her daughter got HIV or being slut.

One of Thai Christian pedagogues I know went down into a brothel. He asked a slut why that have to work right here, and she answered that she was poor. These women do not have opportunity to meet nice people or high-class people. Most of them actually use many rude words. Some are nice to talk with, too. My music teacher had worked on coping illegal albums in Patpong, and he has a lot of slut friends. After that he just did something so opposite, that is he became a music teacher in Catholic school, and I was his student. In fact, Patpong is just one block away from that school. The afternoon and the evening are so different. We can walk as the students or businessmen in the afternoon, and if we are good enough, we have to escape at night.

2. The gangsters force them to do.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Unbelievable, Thailand still has a lot of Gangsters (abducting) as well as Japan has a lot of Yakuza gangs. Many times, they abduct Thai girls into the vans and sell them to other countries around Thailand. This also reflect in some Thai country music. Mike Piromporn sang that The evil yakusa drunken his girlfriend and force her to prostitute for their money.

All are just like in the movie that the police cannot disturb some big gangsters. All movies were token based on the reality. That is where the idea comes from. The gangsters do not catch the girls only for being sluts, but they also kidnap the children and cut out their arms and legs, and push them to be beggar. They dropped these poor kids on the street in the morning, and took them back at night. They can make a lot of money from this hell business.

Another way to force a girl to prostitute herself is taking the video of first-time raping, and then threaten her to continue next videos. Most of the girls are shy and scared to tell the police. Or they get detained in the windowless rooms. They may make the girls to be drug addict, and those girls have to do whatever for the drug.

3. The teenagers like to waste money so fast, so they want to make money so fast, too.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The last reason is for the happy teenagers who love to be whores, because they waste money very fast. At Siam Center, Bangkok, many teenagers decorate their old shirts and trousers to sell to other teenagers on the street. When they get the money, they just walk into the stores and get the new things. Some teenagers think that this way to get the money is very slow. The prize of a shirt is just 100 bahts. If they were whores, they could earn 1,000 baht an hour.

Some parents do not care, and most parents do not know. This down-hell economy, all people get less money. The teenagers cannot live only with the food, but they want a luxurious life with brand-name goods, and some want to decorate their boyfriends’ motorcycle. If you walk on the street at night in Bangkok (some areas), you will see groups of girls waiting for their customers. Almost are pretty, as you know, almost Thai girls are so pretty. For example, comparing between New York subway and Thai subway, in the same capacity of subway car, Thailand has more beautiful girl than New York.

Many foreigners got confused between bad girls and good girls in Thailand. Some of them think that all women in Thailand are sluts. The middle class people do not teach their children to be sluts. They are all educated, and they have good places to work. Most of them work in office, and some own the business. The past government did some mistake about promoting Thailand. Thai government usually promotes the adventures in Thailand. The visitors always love to do journal into the ocean, do the hiking, float the boat in a dangerous water fall, camping and dancing around bonfire. Wow! I love that, too. One of those people in the past, did promote prostitution in Thailand, and after that Thailand is so well-known about this worst thing.

Sw Eden’s hand Drawing in Subway : Hideto Matsumoto (Hide)

Online whores still exist. The information they give online are the nick-name, height, weight, personal identity, ethnic, photo, body-shape, age, level of education, and they do not tell exactly where they study, but they say the location of their school; so people can guess very easy. Almost sweet, cute and love to dress up. I bet they are cuter than Japanese porn-star. They are much much cuter and younger than those Thai women you search via search engine. The prize is about 2,000-5,000 bahts, which is different from those on the street with the prize 500-1,000 bahts. I am not their supporter, and I do not want Thailand to be just like this. If half of teenagers did porn, how Thailand can grow up to be developed country. I love my country. I will talk about the part of bad boys later.

“Prostitution is revolution” a part of Cobra Starship’s Lyrics of Prostitution Is The World’s Oldest Profession (And I, Dear Madame, Am A Professional). This band is fun actually. Lately I could not get the ticket to get into their show. All are sold out.

Our son has often referred to our family as the Soprano’s. I, on the other hand, have always referred to them as the Kennedy’s. Regardless each in their own right is a family.

This morning around 2:00 a.m. we were called to aid in a family matter. While following MacGyver home, I was flooded with recollections of several past events, which were equivalent to tonight. Events that occurred years ago so comparable in nature as to tonight’s events, it is eerie.

Thankfully, it was an event that was not serious, it was very comical though a sharp reminder of what family is all about. It was also an introduction of sorts to a new family member. I know she felt bad about calling us at 2:00 a.m. this morning to assist, but she handled the situation correctly. There is one rule that is always followed regardless of any disagreements or spats between the family members, and it is very simple but best summed up by this song by B. Scott and B. Russell.

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I’m strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother

So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We’ll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother

If I’m laden at all
I’m laden with sadness
That everyone’s heart
Isn’t filled with the gladness
Of love for one another

It’s a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we’re on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn’t weigh me down at all
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother

He’s my brother
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother…

Welcome to the FAMILY!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Down in Alabama, a community is reeling after police report that a 14-year-old girl may have been the mastermind behind the gang rape of her classmate.

The unnamed minor told reporters that she and her friend arranged to have sex with three boys from their high school early last week, one of which was the minor’s boyfriend.

Monroe County District Attorney Tom Chapman reports,

“The victim told police that the attack did begin as consensual contact but when all three suspects began to join in, she told them no repeatedly, but they did not stop.”

The victim required surgery for her injuries and was in intensive care for three days.

Investigators said the two girls left Monroe County High School with Steven Scott, 20, DeShon Riley, 16, and Justin Williams, 17, before the start of classes the day of the attack. They then took turns assaulting the victim. The minor claimed to not have been raped but a medical examination determined that she had intercourse as well.

The men took the two girls back to school where the injured girl sat in bloody clothes for hours until school officials called police.

The three men are currently in jail for felony rape. Their bond is set at $500,000.

I can’t keep writing about stories like this because it makes me so angry!!!!!

Where are the parents?! Where are the administrators that let this girl sit around for hours in bloody clothes before calling police?!

The fact that these idiots raped this girl and brought her back to school like nothing happened shows how sick and twisted these little boys are. Lock ‘em up for life! They deserve it!

And as far as the other girl…SMH….I have no words.

Zoo Life/G-Unit Rapper 40 Glocc is real political these days (“’Cause I care, he says). Not only is he gearing up for the release of his street album Concrete Jungle with the lead single, “Grindin’” being a reflection of how music is a refuge from the New World Order, he’s also unabashedly speaking up about his trial this coming January for allegedly promoting gang culture in his music and videos.

Last year, he and fellow alleged Colon City Crips (a faction of the Crips gang operating out of San Bernardino County, California (Inland Empire)) members were served with an injunction that specifically details him – birth name, Lawrence White – as “particularly notorious… a senior member of the gang who has become a rap star.”

The injunction further claims that he uses his resources (network and net worth) to “perpetuate and foster” the image of the gang’s dominance of the Arbor Terrace Apartments, sited as a place of criminal activity including trespassing (by members of the gang who are non-residents) and illegal drug selling.

The apartment complex is otherwise known as “The Zoo.” White explained to Hip-Hop Wired that the “zoo” of Zoo Life refers to “them calling us animals.”

Though he didn’t clarify exactly who is the aforementioned “them” and “us,” White did elaborate further on how the prosecution and much of mainstream media has painted gang members for the public eye. “He [the prosecutor] called us the Colton City Criminals.” White said. That stereotype, he explained, can be just as damaging as of what he is accused.

“Everybody that’s in a gang is not a bad person. It’s always a lot of them, a big percentage of them that’s in a gang telling everybody, ‘Yo, don’t do that, that’s not right.”

Regardless, the Prayer for Relief as listed in the injunction includes disallowing two or more gang members to appear in public together, and no one gang member may pass through or stop anywhere in the Arbor Terrace Apartment complex and nearby SB Liquor Store; drink alcohol or be under the influence of alcohol in public; or use photography, video, or audio to foster the reputation that the two aforementioned locations are “turf of the Colton City Crips or their offshoots, Zoo Babies, Zoo Crew, or the like.”

“How you gonna banish me from American soil that you don’t even own?” White asked. “You telling me I can’t go to this liquor store down the street [privately owned property]… there’s no crime committed. I’m not a felon.”

Though he’s “never been in the penitentiary,” if the injunction is passed, and, “if I get caught walking down the street with an open can of beer, which is a misdemeanor, that’s considered a felony and I’m eligible for prison.”

Gang injunctions have been of much debate. Organizations such as The American Civil Liberties Union have argued that the terms of many injunctions “infringe the rights of individuals to associate freely,” even during legal events like family reunions. “There are better solutions to crime,” the ACLU reports, “such as community policing… job and education programs.”

Just last week, Ontario, California (another part of the Inland Empire) politicians and law enforcement held a select committee hearing: “Gangs 2.0: The Emerging Threat of Cyberthugs. The meeting was called to combat the area’s escalating dangerous crime rate and gang activity and members using the social media networks like Facebook, YouTube and MySpace to recruit young members and further their gang activities.

Assembly Majority Leader Alberto Torrico (D-Fremont) led the meeting and spoke with Hip-Hop Wired. He stated,

“Social networking is a great way to reach out to others, update them on activities, exchange information and support a cause. Unfortunately, gangs are using these tools to communicate, recruit, issue threats, traffic narcotics, promote violence and expand their criminal activities.”

He also stated that these technologies were being used by gangs to conduct business inside the prison system and help run the outside from the inside.

“These guys go onto public computers that can’t be traced and these guys know what they’re doing. They know how to scramble some of these signals and we’re way behind and need to catch up. We’re holding these meetings to help our law enforcement get on an even playing field with these gangs.”

As 40 Glocc gears up for his case, he is now watching his back even more, as he has been labeled a target by law enforcement. The Zoo Life haa also been in the news, as of late, for accosting Plies at a Jamie Foxx video shoot. Check out some of their video footage below of the incident and their new single “Return To Sender” which is aimed at Plies and a response to his “Letter To The Industry” track.

Also stay tuned to Hip-Hop Wired for our upcoming feature with 40 Glocc, as well as, updates on his upcoming trial.

Leading Essex self defence expert Kyle Hargreaves discusses modern youth gang culture, why knife rel

Leading Essex self defence expert Kyle Hargreaves discusses modern youth gang culture, why knife related crime has become such a problem and how it affects young people.

We seem to hear about it a lot these days, the tragic story of the teenager that has been knifed to death by other teenagers. Over the last couple of years there have been several high profile fatalities as a result of knife crime, including the tragic death of 18 year old Harry Potter star, Robert Knox.

The truth is, the problem is very real and for many families, it’s on their doorsteps. Many parents feel powerless to protect their kids from the dangers that are out their on the streets from knife carrying gangs. They want to wrap them in cotton wall and keep them safe, but they know they can’t and it tears families apart, and in the worst cases it destroys lives.

If we are ever going to be able to protect our youngsters, we really do need to start to understand the problem, because I honestly believe that the answers lie in education. Kids need to be educated about the atrocities and devastation knife crime causes.

So, let’s look at why these kids are carrying knives in the first place.

The good old media band-wagon over the last decade or so, has been pointing the finger at violent videogames, violent, even glamorised violent imagery on TV and in movies, and of course offensive lyrics and graphic content in music. Our kids today our bombarded with violence, sex and drugs from the media and its true, they do become de-sensitized to it. However, I don’t believe that seeing someone in a movie wielding a blade is going to encourage them to do the same, kids are usually pretty smart and can differentiate fantasy form reality most of the time. I don’t think the media particularly helps the problem, but at the end of the day, most ‘adult’ content has a rating advising parents of mature content, and modern games consoles have parental locks on them.

Anyway, that’s not the point I’m trying to make.

If you ever actually speak to any of these kids that are members of gangs, you will find that most of them aren’t there because they think that gang culture is cool, or they want to be a gangster. Most kids in gangs are because they are afraid. They get involved with gangs for protection, because they don’t feel safe. They carry knives for protection.

Many of these kids live in deprived areas, where crime rates are much higher and their parents have little or no money. Some kids feel forced in to crime because they are deprived (that could be of money, or because they come from an unsupportive or abusive home, there are many reasons as to why) and with little support or guidance, they get sucked in to this underworld of violent behaviour. Those that become violent instil fear in to others, causing other young people to want to be on their ‘side’ in order not to be a victim.

It’s a sad spiral, starting with a few individuals that are genuinely dangerous for whatever reason, drawing in others who just don’t feel safe being out and about.

I remember talking to a thirteen year old boy in a school when I was teaching some personal safety classes and he was telling me about how he would beat someone repeatedly with a stick or blunt object to stop them from being able to come after him, because he wanted to protect himself. Others in the group were talking about stabbing people in the leg so they could stop the person coming after them, and how they could take a hit in a fight (even though they’d never been hit)…

These boys had no concept of consequence and behind all the bravado they were scared. It seemed like they had little guidance and of course at that age they have no perspective. If that’s how they are thinking now, unless someone can actually teach them otherwise about consequence and the devastation knives can cause, then of course they are going to carry them and use them.

I don’t think the solution is as simple as saying ‘knives are bad’ because kids don’t respond to that. They need to be made aware of just how much damage a knife can do- not just physically to the victim, but to their families and friends. They need to be made aware that spending life in prison will mean that they will be forced to live in fear every single day and their futures will be gone for good.

I think it’s our responsibility as parents, as teachers and as coaches to really reach out to these kids and show them the reality behind what they are doing, how by the very act of carrying a knife they are indivertibly putting themselves in greater danger.

Safety doesn’t come from carrying a weapon, safety comes from making a choice, and we need to be there to help them make the right choice.

What do you think?

Mya finished this season of ”Dancing With The Stars” on top of leader board by scoring the most points from the judges for her final 3 dances performed for the championship round.

Mya, 800-VOTE4-11, 800-86834-11, and text 3411, finished tonight’s finale with a score of 27 out of 30, placing her two points ahead of Donny Osmond, and 11 points ahead of Kelly Osbourne, making her clearly the judges favorite for the evening.

Mya and her professional dance partner Dmitry Chaplin performed at a very high level this evening, as they have done throughout the competition. The only slight mistake that they made was in choosing a final freestyle dance from the Broadway play ”Hairspray” that apparently was a popular number for those who have seen the stage play.

I never saw that play, but I did see both versions of the movie, and their performance looked very good to me, and I was fully entertained. Apparently, the judges based their scores off of the Tony award-winning dancing that was in the Broadway play, as performed by the professional Broadway dancers.

I think that is a bit odd, to judge her performance against Broadway dancers, and not the rest of the competitors.I know she is good and all, but it looked to me like she was competing against Donny and Kelly, so that assessment was way off base, but…that is just me.

I think they were expecting something different, and forgot to judge the performance in front of them, and that is the problem with consistently being on top….people want to see you fall.

I admire Kelly and Donny, and wish them well, but it was irritating to hear Kelly complain and whine about Mya being a professional dancer, because if she was honest, she has an unfair advantage over Mya, which is that she comes with all of Ozzy Osbourne’s legion of fans, let alone her own from the ”Osbournes” MTV reality series, that was at one time the highest rated program on the cable network.

That all makes a difference because at this point in the season, it is not about dancing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’, but it all comes down to a popularity contest, and Ozzy has all the popularity in the entertainment business, and Kelly rides on his coat tails.

Donny Osmond has almost 5 decades of loyal fans that far out distances the small number of R and B fans that remain loyal to Mya, because in the R and B game, the fans like to tear down the singers once the hits stop coming, and loyalty is almost nonexistence.

The freestyle dance was as awesome as the rest of her performances, and do not let any negative spin on it fool you. If it comes down to dancing skill, then Mya would win hands down,….If it only was about dancing, but it is not.

It is a popularity contest, and the popularity is not based on the dancing performances on the show.

If it is all about dancing, then vote for team Mya and Dmitry, it is what would be fair.

The deal is this,Mya, as all the performers, are not trained ballroom dancers, so she is on the same level as Tom Delay in that area, and the whining by Kelly Osbourne is unfair, fake, and borders on lying. She was obviously trying to garner some sentimental votes from her dads fans, and at the same time, slamming Mya.

In doing this injustice to Mya, Kelly reminded me of her mother Sharon Osbourne’s tacky slamming of singer Susan Boyle’s looks, when she stated that …”Susan Boyle is a lovely lady who had been hit by the ugly stick”….

http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/sharon-osbourne-apologizes-for-insulting-susan-boyle-appearance–1017159.php

The haters are gathering to torpedo Mya’s championship, and she needs all of our support by calling or texting the numbers listed here in this article.

Call or text now, before it is too late, and let’s help her bring home the award she has earned, and deserves, if all things are fair.

Mya & Dmitry Chaplin-800-VOTE4-11–or—–800-86834-11—-text—-3411

No matter who wins, and I hope it is Mya, rest assured that I will continue to watch ‘DWTS’ because the producers provide some of the best entertainment on free TV, and the dancers are all drop dead gorgeous,….like Donny’s partner Kym Johnson who makes me want to visit Australia if she is representative of the women that come from there.

Click on these links to gauge the Love/Hate for Mya, and please….vote for her…

Courtesy of The Guardian, two weird things that aided my procrastination today:

1. A Peruvian gang, labelled after a homicidal mythical critter called a Pishtaco, has been accused of killing people and draining their fat for use in cosmetics. Read it here.

2. And secondly, a YouTube clip, below, (“It’s even got a Spandau-style sax solo while the video features a gorgeous Edie Sedgwick-alike who appears to be dancing to a completely different song.”) uncovered by 80s-lovin’ Sean Williams. The Guardian has this cool article about the Manchester band, Hurts, who are solidly set in the 1980s. Ah… the haircuts, the synths, the dance… I say again, ahhhh.

Instead officers have been advised to use the long-winded phrase ‘multi-perpetrator rape’ when describing sex attacks involving three or more culprits.

Critics branded the move by the Metropolitan Police an ‘affront’ to the victims of appalling sex crimes and are preparing to launch a campaign on the issue.

Six years ago the Met was at the centre of a similar row over its choice of language to describe ‘gang rapes’ after a senior officer referred to them as ‘group rapes’ during an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.

Some community activists had previously suggested the phrase ‘gang rape’ had racist connotations.

Details of the latest police terminology are contained in an official Scotland Yard report which reveals a sharp increase in the number of gang rapes in the capital.

New figures revealed there were 93 gang sex attacks in the financial year 2008-9, compared with 71 in 2003-2004.
Meanwhile the age of victims has fallen with 64% aged 19 or younger in the last financial year compared with 48% in 1998-9.

Below is the letter by Einstein to Shepard Rifkin on Israeli Terrorists.

Just saw Harry Brown at the cinema which is a British crime thriller which was directed by Daniel Barber. The film stars Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer, Jack O’Connell and Liam Cunningham.

Michael Caine plays the main character Harry Brown. The story is about how he seeks revenge after his friend is killed by the group of thugs.

The film puts across very serious and relevant messages to the audience about gang crime.

I really enjoyed this film- it felt very genuine and realistic because of its ‘gritty/raw’ style. The film is very violent, has a lot of bad language and hard drug use but it does make the film more realistic.Michael Caine was very good in this role and i think that this is one of his best performances in most of his recent films.

This film is worth seeing in you like British thrillers or films such as Gran Torino, Kidulthood and Adulthood.

Film Rating: 8/10
