Kansas City pastor Joseph Vincent is pulling no punches in his campaign against Biblical orthodoxy.  In an urgent plea to Hyper-Preterist leaders, Vincent likened Futurism to a disease!  Vincent writes:

“If we truly believe that preterism is the true Gospel delivered to us all, and if we truly believe that futurism is a disease or a twisted interpretation of Scripture, then we should be sold out to pursuing the advancement of delivering this true message of a fulfilled Gospel.”

Once again, Hyper-Preterists never cease to amaze us.  Contrary to the claims of Vincent, the inspired apostle Paul compared Hyper-Preterism to gangrene, when he rebuked the teachings of Hymeneus and Philetus (2 Tim. 2: 17-18).  Folks like Vincent would now have Christendom believe that Paul’s warning only applied to a pre-A.D. 70 time frame, and that the doctrines of Hymeneus and Philetus are now o.k. to preach!

Gangrene – Oxygen Therapy

Well, sorry I’ve abandoned the blog for a few days– last Thursday night after I came home I snuggled into my bed, pulled the laptop on to the covers and felt an excruciating pain in my jaw.  My right submandibular salivary gland was huge and painful and pressing both on my jaw and on the innards of my jaw.  The left side wasn’t as bad, but still not feeling amazing.  I finally managed to fall asleep, and in the morning I awoke again with quite a bit of pain- I then called the Endocrinologist, who promptly called me back and discussed it with me.  She asked me whether it was warm (it was), hard (it was), red (it wasn’t, in fact, it was blue), etc.  She then said, well, take lots of ibuprofen and if you get a fever of over 100 degrees you need to be seen.

Today, almost 6 days after the onset, I am still in pain– although not as excruciating as it originally was.  The ibuprofen has reduced the swelling a bit but has hardly touched the pain.

I went to my PCP’s today– he wanted to take a peek at the swelling situation and possibly take my PICC out!  He told me I’d have to ride the swelling out, as uncomfortable as it may be, but that I should be pleased that it isn’t infected.  He also took the PICC out!  (I’ll post pictures after I clean it up tomorrow.)

Both the PCP and endocrinologist are saying that I must be followed up in 6 months in Germany by an endocrine oncologist to do a thyroid ultrasound and a suppressed thyroglobulin (Tg) levels.

I received an awesome care package from J. consisting of both Gangrene and Giardia!!! Picture to follow!

And some of yesterday’s news, I was pushing a stroller down a hill and one of the blue tips of my PICC popped off and into a gross bucket of rain water with leaves and dead bugs in it.  I reached in, apprehensively, and removed the jumper– I then pocketed it and continued on the walk.  After about a half an hour of walking around worrying about it, I thought to tie it off– which I did.  When I returned home I called homecare and a nurse came and put another extension set on it– she also flushed loads of bubbles with it!  That was my last traumatic PICC event for a while!

My new microbial friends, Gangrene and Giardia!!!

Chasing survival is more exhausting than being Alive. One man’s crisis is another man’s salvation. I had forgotten that gangrene is not as painful in all the months of the getting as it is in the many more months of healing.

Six ay em meditation. Six thirty am pool on time. Swam quarter mile in about 12 minutes. Yoga. Chores. PT Eleven o’clock, 12 minutes on the versaclimber. Twelve hundred and ten feet. Diana generous as ever w/treats. Dave cracks the whip. Julie smiles. Thayne is very busy on Monday thinking of aliens.

Twenty three consecutive pull ups. Seventeen to go. Planning for hanging sit ups. Had a chat with Diana’s crows. BG levels are falling. Since my bout of seizures last week I stutter less. Figure.

When you’re Alive Sometimes questions arise. I could become indignant and self righteous. I can’t always read a question by its syntactical cover. A peek inside some questions is like a look inside the House of Mystery.

Some Times I look normal. I have a mostly invisible disability. I need help because I have impaired executive function from encephalopathy. My brain is not normal. It’s okay. When I’m Alive, I’m just me.

This is confusing to other people. Imagine what it’s like for me when I’m not Alive.

If after further evaluation the FDA determines that the drug is associated with the risk, it may take a variety of actions including requiring changes to the labeling of the drug, requiring development of a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS), or gathering additional data to better characterize the risk.

- I remember the day when I was captured by a pack of Viet Cong’s. I was free and on my way home to see my loving wife and kids.

Then I found out my loving wife filed for divorce several months after my capture. She ended up leaving Missouri to pursue her dream of becoming a boxer in Los Angeles. It turns out she was pretty good. She made it all the way to the top of the Welterweight division, until she tripped over a chair and broke her neck/spine. Shortly after she was killed in her hospital bed by Clint Eastwood. All of my kids ended up moving to Vietnam so they could be closer to me. I’ve tried to contact them several times….. only to discover that they are all married to some of the Viet Cong women responsible for pouring hot honey, fire ants, and bumble bees on my shaven genitalia. Not to mention the Viet Cong’s are very rude over the phone.

So Ken….. next time you want to post an update (which sounds more like a Skittles commerical than actual words of wisdom), ask yourself if you are truly doing anybody a favor by posting the obvious.

FDA notified healthcare professionals that a Boxed Warning is being added to the prescribing information for Promethazine Hydrochloride products, describing the risks of severe tissue injury, including gangrene, requiring amputation following intravenous administration of promethazine. The Boxed Warning will remind practitioners that due to the risks of intravenous injection, the preferred route of administration is deep intramuscular injection and that subcutaneous injection is contraindicated.

Perivascular extravasation, unintentional intra-arterial injection and intraneuronal or perineuronal infiltration of the drug may result in irritation and tissue damage. Healthcare professionals should be alert for signs and symptoms of potential tissue injury including burning or pain at the site of injection, phlebitis, swelling, and blistering.

The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday makers of the antihistamine and anti-nausea drug promethazine have to warn consumers over the potential risk of tissue injuries including gangrene if the injectable drug is administered incorrectly. The FDA is requiring companies to include a warning on the drug’s label to state that it should not be administered into an artery or under the skin because of the risk. There is also a risk that the drug can leach out from the vein during intravenous administration and cause serious damage to the surrounding tissue, the agency said.

Dernièrement, j’ai appris qu’une Église du Connecticut, la Manifested Glory Ministries, s’adonnait à l’exorcisme. Mais pas n’importe lequel, celui contre le démon de l’homosexualité…

On pourrait presque dire que l’« Église » évolue, puisque ce genre de pratique est assez inédit. Une manière d’aller récupérer quelques brebis sodomites égarées?

Parlant évolution, justement, saviez-vous que la constitution canadienne (dernière version : 1982) débute par « Attendu que le Canada est fondé sur des principes qui reconnaissent la suprématie de Dieu » alors que l’« ancienne version qui date de 1867 était parfaitement laïc »?

La lecture de la page Wikipédia au sujet de ce préambule est assez éclairante sur comment les religieux sont perdus dans leurs obsessions, ce qui peut donner, ultimement, des exorcismes du genre cité plus haut. Avec son aplomb légendaire, le Premier Ministre de l’époque, Pierre Elliot Trudeau, aurait dit : « Je crois que Dieu s’en fout d’être dans la Constitution ou non. » C’est plutôt rare, mais cette fois-ci je suis d’accord avec lui, même si par cette phrase il avoue croire en Dieu, à moins que ce soit simplement du sarcasme pur. Je n’irai pas jusqu’à vérifier, sa vie personnelle ne m’intéresse pas…

Mais ce que je constate, c’est que le Canada n’avait pas besoin de ce préambule avant 1982, puisque la vie religieuse a pu suivre son cours quand même. Par contre, à partir du moment où « la suprématie de Dieu » y est inscrite, cela ouvre des portes inquiétantes. Le Parti de l’Héritage Chrétien se sert de ce préambule pour appuyer sa propagande pro-vie et pro-famille (comme si les athées et agnostiques étaient tous des célibataires sans enfants…), essayant d’amputer moralement les droits et libertés selon leurs principes. La loi de Dieu avant la loi des hommes. Même logique tordue du côté des musulmans : ce préambule déroulerait le tapis rouge pour la loi islamiste au Canada. Et je n’ai aucun doute que les chrétiens ne sont pas très contents de ça. C’est d’un humour!

Je ne m’inquiète pas pour vrai. Seulement si un jour le système de justice est gangréné par les ultras religieux, ce qui ne semble vraiment pas le cas pour l’instant. Mais quand même, est-ce qu’il faut s’attendre à voir prochainement des exorcismes pour déloger le démon athée?

Therapy (feat. Evidence, Blu & KiD CuDi) – The Alchemist

Back in the ’90s and early ’00s when the economy was booming and the potential for Hip-Hop seemed limitless, every artist and their moms was venturing off as a solo artist.  Starting your own label was low-risk and a right of passage for successful acts.  However, the decline of records sales in combination with/as a result of the recent recession have created a survival-of-the-fittest-type attitude among artists and record execs, alike.  While the labels have responded by becoming stingier with their dough, sticking with established artists to knock out that hit single, solo artists are progressively receding into the comfort of the group setting.  From a fan’s point of view, the allure of combining such star power is not unlike your favorite superheroes teaming up when you were a kid.  And there are always those peripheral emcees who shine on guest appearances, and this should presumably be their bread and butter.  Over the last few years, we have seen the following “super groups” formed:

Q: You’re doing interviews all day.  How do you prepare for that?

A: I think of the dumbest shit that I can possibly say and then I practice.  I usually do that for two hours and then I do a running high five to the mirror a few times.  Practice my game face and do a couple of sit-ups and handstands and cartwheels, just the regular calisthenics that I can do inside my apartment and really, really psyche myself out for the crazy, next level questions that are going to be thrown at me, kind of like a little sparring thing you do with yourself, get ready for the jab and the uppercut of questions.
