The poor women who cannot find any other jobs also need to eat, and their families need to eat, too. This problems can have everywhere in the world, not only in Thailand. A friend of my friend had to prostitute herself because her mother got cancer. She was just a college student and she had no money. Her father did not be with her anymore. (I can say that most of Thai guys are not different from other countries, they like to have second wife. Thailand does not have a law as in USA that the ex-husband has to pay for his ex-wife.) Lastly she got HIV. I am so sorry for her, a nice daughter. I did talk with my friends about her. If anyone is in this situation, he/she should as other people for help rather than just hurting oneself. The mass media always love to help everyone. If there is really no way to do other things, they said that she should have let her mother died, because her mother would be so sad to see her daughter got HIV or being slut.

One of Thai Christian pedagogues I know went down into a brothel. He asked a slut why that have to work right here, and she answered that she was poor. These women do not have opportunity to meet nice people or high-class people. Most of them actually use many rude words. Some are nice to talk with, too. My music teacher had worked on coping illegal albums in Patpong, and he has a lot of slut friends. After that he just did something so opposite, that is he became a music teacher in Catholic school, and I was his student. In fact, Patpong is just one block away from that school. The afternoon and the evening are so different. We can walk as the students or businessmen in the afternoon, and if we are good enough, we have to escape at night.

Unbelievable, Thailand still has a lot of Gangsters (abducting) as well as Japan has a lot of Yakuza gangs. Many times, they abduct Thai girls into the vans and sell them to other countries around Thailand. This also reflect in some Thai country music. Mike Piromporn sang that The evil yakusa drunken his girlfriend and force her to prostitute for their money.

All are just like in the movie that the police cannot disturb some big gangsters. All movies were token based on the reality. That is where the idea comes from. The gangsters do not catch the girls only for being sluts, but they also kidnap the children and cut out their arms and legs, and push them to be beggar. They dropped these poor kids on the street in the morning, and took them back at night. They can make a lot of money from this hell business.

Another way to force a girl to prostitute herself is taking the video of first-time raping, and then threaten her to continue next videos. Most of the girls are shy and scared to tell the police. Or they get detained in the windowless rooms. They may make the girls to be drug addict, and those girls have to do whatever for the drug.

The last reason is for the happy teenagers who love to be whores, because they waste money very fast. At Siam Center, Bangkok, many teenagers decorate their old shirts and trousers to sell to other teenagers on the street. When they get the money, they just walk into the stores and get the new things. Some teenagers think that this way to get the money is very slow. The prize of a shirt is just 100 bahts. If they were whores, they could earn 1,000 baht an hour.

Some parents do not care, and most parents do not know. This down-hell economy, all people get less money. The teenagers cannot live only with the food, but they want a luxurious life with brand-name goods, and some want to decorate their boyfriends’ motorcycle. If you walk on the street at night in Bangkok (some areas), you will see groups of girls waiting for their customers. Almost are pretty, as you know, almost Thai girls are so pretty. For example, comparing between New York subway and Thai subway, in the same capacity of subway car, Thailand has more beautiful girl than New York.

Many foreigners got confused between bad girls and good girls in Thailand. Some of them think that all women in Thailand are sluts. The middle class people do not teach their children to be sluts. They are all educated, and they have good places to work. Most of them work in office, and some own the business. The past government did some mistake about promoting Thailand. Thai government usually promotes the adventures in Thailand. The visitors always love to do journal into the ocean, do the hiking, float the boat in a dangerous water fall, camping and dancing around bonfire. Wow! I love that, too. One of those people in the past, did promote prostitution in Thailand, and after that Thailand is so well-known about this worst thing.

Online whores still exist. The information they give online are the nick-name, height, weight, personal identity, ethnic, photo, body-shape, age, level of education, and they do not tell exactly where they study, but they say the location of their school; so people can guess very easy. Almost sweet, cute and love to dress up. I bet they are cuter than Japanese porn-star. They are much much cuter and younger than those Thai women you search via search engine. The prize is about 2,000-5,000 bahts, which is different from those on the street with the prize 500-1,000 bahts. I am not their supporter, and I do not want Thailand to be just like this. If half of teenagers did porn, how Thailand can grow up to be developed country. I love my country. I will talk about the part of bad boys later.

Today I give you a script. It is a script for a short comedy film for two male actors. It is filled with profanity, so if you are either young or easily shocked don’t read it. It’s also vaguely Guy Ritchie-esque, so if you don’t like shoddy imitations don’t read it. It’s actually been shot once, but finding the time to edit it has been WAY down on the list of priorities. I’ll try to get on that and share it with you if I find it.

Since I have been gone Halloween has come and gone.  But, I thought I would just update you all on our festive Halloween. 

I hung Indian Corn on the door, a basket of gourds on the table, and fall flowers in vase.  I even stuck bloody handprints to a window and hung a giant spider in the living room.  Yes, I love this time of year.  Here was a new addition (that we love!) for our porch:

We also carved pumpkins for the front steps.  The pictures were mostly fuzzy, but here is a lit up shot of my witch:

Tibe-tibe jek teringat.Ketika zaman persekolahan bile tengok budak-budak dah mula cuti sekolah.

Aku dulu pon macam tu jugak.Pada awal umor 6-15 tahun memang agak menyeronokkan.UPSR tak lah dapat straight ‘A’ tapi tak lah sampai boleh dikatekan macam tak belajar langsung.Sebenarnya pencapaian bukanlah satu tahap kita boleh mengukur sesuatu kejayaan tapi tak bermaksud orang tak berjaya bodoh.Cume tahap kecemerlangan dia mungkin di bidang selain daripada pelajaran berbentuk formal.

Lepas UPSR berbekalkan result yang di tahap membanggakan aku masuk sek men biasa/harian.Ramai jugak sebenarnya pelajar-pelajar pandai dekat sek menengah nih..Mase zaman aku tuh orang sibuk cakap pasal Y2K….atau masalah apabila masuk tahun 2000.Banyak kejutan budaya dekat sini sebab lebih ramai pelajar /jumlah pelajar.

Macam-macam ade mase tuh.Geng-geng cina lah..India lah…Melayu lah.Kalo melayu dgn cina memang tak boleh jumpe.Langgar bahu gaduh,langgar siku gaduh.Memang teruk tapi tak sampai melibatkan kematian.Jiwa muda lah katekan.Aku suke amoi cina sebab diorang ada yang baik-baik,belajar pon memang pandai tak kisah nak belajar dengan mana-mana bangsa.

Mase awal-awal Form 1 aku memang gemok tapi berisi.Mane datang istilah tuh bukan dari aku tapi dari jurulatih silat gayong aku.Aku memang minat dengan seni silat dari kecik lagi selepas dilahirkan dan dibesarkan kira-kira berumur 10 tahun.Mula-mula susah jugak sebab gemok kan nak rolling(berguling-guling) kasi kepala masuk bawah pas tuh badan berpusing…tp lame-lame try hard sampai boleh buat.Latihan silat memang agak penat dan meletihkan sangat sebab berlatih di luar kawasan luas atas padang bola.Kalo nak belajar seni serang dan pertahanan memang besh lebih-lebih lagi bila jurulatih yang buat.Ia tak sakit walaupon diseret atas rumput sebab itulah seni.Nampak seperti ganas dan lasak tetapi sebenarnya lebih kepada pergerakan yang terperinci dan bukan untuk mencederakan hanya untuk melemahkan dari segi penglihatan.Setahun masuk silat jek da kurus….tapi itu dulu…

E’ Michael Mann. E si vede. Il realismo che contraddistingue i suoi film in questa sua ultima opera forse trova il compimento e ci porta a sentire e vedere tutto in prima persona. Con gli occhi di uno dei fuorilegge americani più celebri dai tempi della Gran Depressione: John Dillinger. E mantenere il realismo quando si parla di un personaggio così cotroverso come lo è stato il famoso rapinatore di banche degli anni ‘30 non è da poco. Per gli americani di quel tempo Dillinger non era solo un criminale ma per certi versi era anche un eroe che rubava alle banche che erano considerate colpevoli di aver causato la Grande Depressione negli USA. E Mann rispetta quell’ immagine facendo si che il suo attore Johhny Depp assuma questi doppi connotati di eroe e criminale. Contrapponendolo all’ altrettanto ben delineato personaggio di Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), il cacciatore di criminali che ben rappresenta la nemesi di Dillinger. Mezzo perfetto per trasformare queste parole in opera filmica è l’ utilizzo del digitale che dona costante autenticità, nonostante le sue imperfezioni. Frequenti sono i tallonamenti della macchina da presa ai volti dei suoi protagonisti e i riverberi di luce che si infrangono sull’ obiettivo sottolineando minuto dopo minuto il tempo reale delle azioni. Peccato ancora una volta per i titolisti italiani che hanno deciso di tradurre il plurale americano Public Enemies nell’ italiano Nemico Pubblico che dà quindi la sua massima importanza a Johnny Depp alias John Dillinger, relegando così in sordina Melvis Purvis che invece è considerato anche lui un “Nemico Pubblico”, seppur dall’ altra faccia della medaglia. Se il primo (Dillinger) rappresentà la libertà di colui che non conosce freni e che non appartiene a nessun sistema o schema, il secondo (Purvis) è la sua risposta che vuole bloccarlo e isolarlo facendo di ogni uccisione da lui effettuata un tentativo di arginare Dillinger relegandolo prima o poi a restar solo e allontanandolo da ogni suo complice, amore o amico. Vi sono estremi parallelismi tra l’ opera di Mann e il cinema gangster degli anni ‘30 americano che vedeva in Clark Gable o Gary Cooper l’ estrema manifestazione del criminale di bell’ aspetto romantico e comunque di buone maniere. Ed è come se Mann usufruendo del mezzo digitale voglia segnare una nuova era del cinema gangster, non offuscando la precedente fatta di pellicola e di Black and White ma al contrario inglobandola, come metaforicamente si evince nella sequenza nella quale Hoover (Billy Crudup) decora i giovani G-men che viene fagocitata dallo schermo cinematografico. E’ un vero melodramma Nemico Pubblico nel quale i suoi due protagonisti sono entrambi alla fine costretti a lasciare qualcosa: Dillinger la sua amata ” blackbird” Billie (Marion Cotillard), alla quale sono dedicate le sue ultime parole, e Purvis si lascerà dietro la sconfitta di aver decisamente saputo troppo poco del suo obiettivo (Dillinger), escluso anche dalla conoscenza delle sue ultime parole-testamento. La società di quegli anni è perfettamente specchiata nell’ ambivalenza dei personaggi dell’ opera “Manniana”. Un’ epoca nella quale i mass-media iniziavano a schierarsi sempre dalla parte dei vincitori, preoccupandosi solamente di mettere più carne sul fuoco, e nella quale i soliti potenti dell’ economia avevano causato la Grande Depressione. E la morte finale di Dillinger come una star segna proprio la vittoria di tale economia. Una morte nella quale al centro dello schermo vi è il cadavere del difensore di quel senso disfattista che rappresenta l’ ambivalenza del bene e del male e ai bordi dello schermo pian piano scompare la sagoma di Melvis Purvis, comunque sconfitto da non essere stato il vero protagonista della sua uccisione.

I had gotten the heads up about Estevan Oriol’s LA WOMAN book release via NOBUENO.COM (linked in my blog roll to the right). And also read up on it via Estevan’s blog also on the right side in my blog roll. I pre-ordered it via Amazon and patiently waited its arrival. Once I received it the photos inside are amazing . Being able to see the skill of Estevan’s finger/eye tandem in catching brilliant photos definitely makes me want to follow and learn that same skill. Each photo seems to tell a story (one I don’t know but am sure is interesting). The moments, attitude,dedication and sincerity in every shot is breath taking. I am glad to have had an opportunity to see the beautiful women of Los Angeles through Estevan’s Lens. If you have a chance check it out and purchase this book. We chose to not do Cigar Sunday tonight which gives me the opportunity to write about this classic tradition. Started last fall when I was a freshman by my roomate and I in Broward, Cigar Sunday consists of going to Modern Age, buying and smoking a nice cigar, followed by watching a gangster movie.

This tradition has continued on to my current roomate and I and it is still triumphant. We grab two stools from our apartment then go outside to light up. While smoking our delicious cigars we usually sip on whiskey or beer as we relate to each other stories from the weekend. Since we buy big cigars we usually have about an hour to relate all the awesome things that happened to us. And just think about it; whiskey, cigars, bar stools and storytelling? All of these components combined are great American traditions. We try to sample a wide variety of cigars by buying a different kind each week. In doing this we will expand our palate and maybe even one day become cigar afficionados. We have been debating about making it Cigar & Scotch Sunday, but don’t know any good types of Scotch to buy. All in good time.

After this we go back inside and select a bad ass gangster movie to watch. Good choices include The Godfather, Scarface, Blow, Goodfellas, American Gangster and The Departed. This then turns into a drinking game where we drink whenever someone has a cigar and whenever someone is killed. Because of this, Sunday can be called one of my favorite nights of the week due to its classic, sophisticated and relaxing nature.
