I’ve had enough.

Starting back in March and April, when the whole concept of the Tea Parties was in its infancy, the wits and wags on the left decided to take a page from Saul Alinsky’s playbook and bring ridicule to bear on the whole endeavor. But not just simple ridicule.

What they did was far worse. They turned the efforts and engagement of millions of earnest people into a dirty joke. A graphically sexual insider joke. They started calling us “teabaggers.” (The original definition of “teabagging,” for those few of you who are still unaware of it, can be found here.)

Yes, pundits, bloggers, anchors, Congresspeople, presidents, called us “teabaggers.” What class! What elan! What finely-honed debating skills! What exemplars of surpassing intellect they are.

But just suppose the shoe were on the other foot?

Imagine if you will, that for some reason, those on the left were protesting roosters and Tootsie Pops. Walking around in crowds of thousands and tens of thousands locally. Hundreds of thousands to a million on a given day in Washington D.C. Carrying signs protesting chickens and lollipops.

Innocuous items, to be sure, but you can bet your bottom dollar that nobody, and I mean nobody on the right (or the left, for that matter) would be casually referring to them in print, on televsion or video, or online, as cock-suckers.

The queen of the B-list in Hollywood wouldn’t be doing it.

A minor news reporter/talking head wouldn’t be calling people that.

The President of the United States wouldn’t say it.

A past president of the United States wouldn’t even think about saying it, having had too much scrutiny in that direction himself.

The Oxford University Press would not even have considered it for their “Word of the Year” for 2009.

It defies belief that any of these people used that word without knowing what it meant.

And yet, this is what the left does. Having no valid argument to present against the Tea Parties, they resort to using phrases that reduce them to the level of sniggering seventh-graders. It’s an in-joke that only the cool kids get, and the poor rubes doing the protesting are left scratching their heads, wondering why the in-crowd is laughing at them,

Well, the poor rubes doing the protesting are getting mighty sick of it. If the in-crowd doesn’t look out, they, too, will awaken the sleeping giant and fill him with resolve.

Hey kids, be careful… The giant is starting to stir. By 2010, he’ll be awake. And he’ll be hungry.

UPDATE: Jay Tea over at Wizbang has a slightly different reaction to the term…

In caduta libera.

Appena dopo l’esplosione.

I did not vote for Barack Obama. I do not agree with his policies, his morals, his values, or his p

I did not vote for Barack Obama. I do not agree with his policies, his morals, his values, or his principles. I’m clearly a racist. I also did not vote for Hillary Clinton. I must be sexist or misogynistic. Come to think of it, I wasn’t even that fond of John McCain. I’m also an ageist. I am against Cap and Trade. I obviously hate Mother Earth. I believe in tighter border control, so clearly, I despise all immigrants.

I believe in the 9.12 project and the TEA party. I believe in the American people. I must be an uneducated redneck full of hatred, anger, and a “large limbic system.” Oh, and duh. I’m completely involved in the white power movement…well, according to Miss Garofalo, I am. In this video, J.G. claims that republicans, conservatives, right wingers, and the like can’t think for themselves, and that we are all racist. Oh, and women, in particular, who happen to be conservative tend to suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. Hmmm. Well, if that was the case, then wouldn’t we all just simply adore President Obama since he’s pretty much holding us all hostage and slowly stripping away our rights?

According to Miss Garofalo, we TEA partiers, and 9.12ers do not know our history, so I thought I would give a brief lesson, since Janeane wasn’t kind enough to teach us during her 8 minute commentary to Keith Olbermann. The Boston Tea Party originated because the American colonies were being unjustly taxed without any representation in Britain. Samuel Adams led a group of men, The Sons of Liberty, aboard the three tea ships that were docked in the Boston Harbor, and there they proceeded to empty the tea chests one by one. It is important to remember that the original tea partiers were not a mob, they were not out to harm anyone, nor were they ravaged beasts running around Lord of the Flies style. They were concerned patriots who were fighting for America’s right to exist in a free world.

The TEA Party today believes in the same principles that the original Sons of Liberty did. We want America’s freedom and liberty restored. We want corrupt politicians on both sides of the aisle to step down, and we want patriots who care about America and its citizens to revive the nation’s capital.

If wanting this makes me a racist, then so be it. Oh, but Janeane, while you’ve been judging me, I realized that you probably shouldn’t cast those stones too quickly. Didn’t your parents teach you two important life lessons:

1) If you haven’t got anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all

2) Judge not, lest ye be judged and let he who is without sin cast the first stone (I’m pretty sure you attended a Catholic College, did you not?)

So Janeane, I am not going to judge you, but I am going to leave the people with a few of your favorite quotes (thanks to your IMDB page) and allow those redneck, racist people to determine for themselves what type of person you truly are.

Oh, and lastly, my pet peeve is celebrities who use their status to influence the American people into believing what they believe. But then again, I suppose we can’t think for ourselves, so we need someone like you to guide us. Tisk, tisk.

Janeane, we the people, dedicate this blog article to you.

“I guess I just prefer to see the dark side of things. The glass is always half-empty. And cracked. And I just cut my lip on it. And chipped a tooth.”

“After 9/11 disaster from article in Commentary magazine, November 2001: “Who would have thought that I’d be angry on behalf of my country? I’m used to being angry at my country.”

“You know what is good about these Dixie Chicks burnings or bashings? It’s a wonderful, wonderful way for really stupid people to hook up. They meet, they throw some things on the fire, they talk about Vin Diesel, they tell stories about who their favorite Fox anchor is, they exchange phone numbers and in some cases has led to marriages.”

“Our country is founded on a sham: our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, ‘Oh my God, you’re insulting me.’ That you can have a gay parade on Christopher Street in New York, with naked men and women on a float cheering, ‘We’re here, we’re queer!’ — that’s what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride.”

I have been torn on writing this article for a couple of weeks now. On one hand I had hoped that the current environment would change and this issue would go away on its own. Unfortunately, calling someone a racist is such a magnificently powerful tool that it would be silly to think those in the halls of power would allow it to be put away. So I decided that I was, in fact, going to write about it. And I am going to be honest in my assessment. Because the fact that this is being used as a tactic by many politicians, partisans, and media jerk-offs is about as filthy a statement about their character as any claim they could make about me in the end. So we are going to take some time this evening to point out all the claims of racism in the political realm. Then we will discuss what I think the reality in America is. Finally I will ask for help from all of you to figure out how to stop this tactic from being used to divide the country as much as possible.

Allow me to make my point again, albeit more clearly this time. The claims by those in power, regardless of political party, that use race as a weapon, are false, are divisive, and show them to be of the lowest moral character imaginable. But I am not stopping with politicians, although we should demand more from them. I am talking about celebrities, news outlets, blog writers, businesses, power brokers, EVERYONE. If you use the claim of racism as a reason to demean your ideological opponent(s), when you know that it is not the reason they oppose you, I will come right out and say that you are an absolute piece of shit. Not only have you, at that point, lost all credibility, but you should be punished for sowing the seeds of mistrust, divisiveness, racial tension, ignorance, and intolerance among a people who need to find ways to get together, rather than be further divided.

I had really hoped that the promises of a post-racial America would come to pass with the election of a black man to the Presidency. And in some ways I think that Obama’s election was a great and hopeful sign for America. Blacks make up only 12% of the population. So that meant that plenty of white people did vote to put a black man in the White House (not to mention a man with the name Barack Hussein). I was immediately disappointed to find the hateful tone coming from the black community. It seemed that in the black community, rather than a feeling of togetherness, his election instead brought about a feeling of empowerment. I recall someone, I think Ray but I am not sure, sharing the story of a family member being confronted by a group of blacks proclaiming it was “their” time now. I can’t tell you how many times over the first couple months I heard black Americans making remarks in the arena of this sentiment. Instead of a feeling of finally having inclusion in the American dream, I overwhelmingly felt that it was a feeling of supremacy over white America. A feeling that we would finally “get ours.” And that is simply sad.

But it isn’t the members of the black community that I am angry with at this point. Sure there are some members of the black community that use race as a weapon, claim racism at every turn, and use this tactic (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, NAACP Presidents, Professor Gates). And we all know what I think of them for doing so. No, I am talking about the media, the politicians, etc. I am talking about Keith Olbermann and Jeanine Garofalo. I am talking about Nancy Pelosi and Jimmy Carter. I am talking about Rush Limbaugh. And I want to be honest and open on this subject, but I am finding it hard to keep it from coming to a partisan twist. I have literally sat here for an hour searching the web and I could not find much of anything in any searches that turned up a story about Republicans or conservatives calling Democrats or liberals racists, with the exception of some of the more radical conservative commentary folks singling out an individual. No examples I could find of “Democrats hate black people”. For Example:

Sean Hannity has had several sections of his commentary aimed at the idea that perhaps the Obamas have some race issues themselves. He stated, “As more is learned about Barack Obama’s positions, his past, and his affiliations, it seems that the ‘change’ candidate has all the same problems with race as those before him,” and later added, “It’s only fair to ask: Do the Obamas have a race problem of their own?” While not quite as bad as many of the blatant examples we see from the left, but an insinuation that Obama is racist none-the-less.

Glenn Beck, guilty of calling President Obama a racist as well. Beck went on Fox and Friends and stated that Obama is a “racist” and has “exposed himself as a guy” who has “a deep-seated hatred for white people. No two ways around that. Beck came right out and said the President is a racist! I have to admit that when I read that I was stunned. I simply didn’t think Beck would sink so low.

Rush Limbaugh. Well, he just gives us example after example out of his pie hole. First he says that Colin Powell only supported Obama because he was black. Then he makes a comment that in Obama’s new America, white kids get beaten while black kids stand around and cheer. He follows that up with saying that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is racist and that the way to get promoted in the Obama administration is to hate white people. Rush deserves a smack in the teeth for comments like these. He is doing nothing but feeding into the stereotype that Republicans are racist.

But the reality is that the claim of racist in today’s political arena is OVERWHELMINGLY a liberal tactic.

I am not kidding you here. I typed this into google: “Republicans calling Democrats Racists” Here is the first page of returned results:

Take a look at that list. I asked for Republicans calling Democrats racists, and nine of the top ten results were instances of Republicans being called racist by Democrats! The only one that wasn’t was an article claiming that Michael Steele, a black man, was calling Obama a racist for not supporting Michael Patterson, another black man. (Forget that in the article it actually quotes “Baffled, Schiefer blurted, “You don’t think he’s asked him not to run because he’s black?” “I don’t think that, but look, you have so few [black governors],” Steele said. “Look, if you’re saying it’s the numbers then why isn’t there a call for those other Democrat governors who have low numbers as well. It’s just a curiosity for me.”) So the only example in the top ten results was a blatant lie. Think I am making that up? I gave you the term I put in, do the search yourself and see.

The reality is that today, right now, the racist card is being played by the left, over and over again. It isn’t the Republican party playing this card nearly as frequently as Democrats. And while my searches may have missed an example or two that someone on the left will bring up to attempt to show it goes both ways, the fact is that unless you can find hundreds of examples, it doesn’t go both ways. Because even a rudimentary search turns up hundreds of examples of Republicans and opponents of Obama’s policies being called racists. While the examples from the right all seem to ask whether a single person is racist, the left’s attacks tend to target an entire party. Allow me to point out some examples to show how widespread and high up this tactic is being employed.

Jeanine Garofalo goes on MSNBC with Keith Olbermann and claims that the tea parties are nothing but a bunch of racist white rednecks. She claims that opposition to Obama’s policies and plans is nothing more than evidence of racism in America. Olbermann not only allows this to stand, he agrees with her. He has made the claim of racism against Republicans no less than 40 times on air.

We have Congresswoman Diane Watson from the LA area making a speech in which she comes right out and says about Republicans, “And remember: They are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails. Now just understand what’s at the bottom line.” (Forget about the fact that she has race baited for years and chastised a black Republican for marrying a white woman, claimed Congress was keeping DC from having representation in Congress because DC is a “Chocolate City” and would elect black Senators, and ramped up all the rhetoric over Hurricane Katrina being a racial issue).

The ever popular Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi chimed in with her comments insinuating that the language from the right reminds her of the anti gay rhetoric in San Francisco, which resulted in violence. She pretended to be concerned for the safety of the American people should this rhetoric from the right continue. (Forget the fact that the claims of racism as the driver of opposition are only coming from the left, which she is the anointed leader of).

In one of the absolute worst moments for race relations in this country, we have a former President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, come out and say that opposition to Obama’s policies is driven by race. He stated, “I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American. I live in the South, and I’ve seen the South come a long way, and I’ve seen the rest of the country that share the South’s attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African-Americans. That racism in connection still exists, and I think it’s bubbled up to the surface because of a belief among many white people, not just in the South, but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country. It’s an abominable circumstance and grieves me and concerns me very deeply.”

Let me add about Carter, this statement from him really saddened me. He was a horrible President. Horrible. But in the years since, he has proven to be such a great diplomat. He has done so many good things for this country after leaving the White House. And he ruined every bit of it in my eyes with this comment. It was one of the most irresponsible statements that I have ever heard a President of the United States make. I expect more from a President. He made a claim that was not only false, but damaging to race relations in so many ways. He should be ashamed of himself for saying what he did.

Maureen Dowd, widely read liberal columnist went on an extended screed against Joe Wilson, laying out the case for why his outburst was completely racially motivated. She said, “Joe Wilson yelled “You lie!” at a president who didn’t. But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!” Oh she got better, because she didn’t want to stop at Wilson, she had to take the whole Republican party to task by finishing up with, “Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it.” Another reason why I will never read Dowd’s trash writing. She has the credibility rating ranking right up there with Limbaugh.

Some of the absolute most maddening stuff is the absolute intentional lying that goes on at some of our biggest news media outlets.

MSNBC does a piece about weapons being brought to an Obama rally out west. They zero in one of the 12 people and the semi-automatic weapon strapped to his back. They railed on for nearly 30 minutes about how this was about racism. They portrayed the entire issue as a race issue, claimed we have white people showing up to rallies with guns. They said we will see someone take a shot at Obama, because of racism. One problem, they cropped the photo to show the man only from the shoulders down, because the man carrying the weapon was black.

MSNBC's On-Air Version

You get the point. These claims are coming from every angle that can possibly be used. The bottom line is this. The liberal world has decided that the best way to trivialize, demonize, and marginalize the conservative right in this country is to call them a racist. This is not a new tactic. They have been doing it for decades. Do some research, you will find it over and over again. But now the ante has been upped. Now there is a black man in the white house. So it makes laying the claim of racism so much easier. Don’t agree with health care reform, its because you are a racist. Voted for McCain, it was because you can’t accept a black man as President. Oppose the social reform that increases welfare and the like, it is because you want to see black people in America fail. No matter the political issue, the left can point to racism as the reason why you don’t agree to their position. And they are doing it with everything.

The Actual Version

And as the left continues to use this tactic ever so effectively in today’s political spectrum, they are teaching this generation and the ones that follow that the claim of racism is an effective and expedient political tool. Moreover, they are teaching them that it is an acceptable tool, and that the target doesn’t have to have a racist bone in their body to justify using it. It doesn’t matter if the racism is real or contrived, it only matters if the claim is effective. And this is a disgusting tactic to use. I would expect those on the left to condemn this tactic, yet so many seem to accept it and go on their merry way. The sad thing is that I often struggle to think of many prominent black political leaders that have not used race as a weapon at some point (and that includes out President who used it against Hillary).

The problem is that the people who should be shouting the loudest about this abuse of the term racist are the most silent on the subject: black people in America. They should be outraged to see what has been a real life struggle for so many reduced to a political tactic. It trivializes the struggle that Martin Luther King so gallantly tackled. I should note that Dr. King would have deplored this. They should be outraged because with the ever increasing claims of racism today it trivializes the legitimate claims of racism. No one pays attention to a claim of racism when nearly everyone is being accused of it. It allows the true racists to continue on their way.

But the biggest problem of all with this is not the impact on policy. And those feeling the pain from the overuse of the racist claim will never be those politicians or columnists or celebrities that use it for political gain. It will be the rest of us. Because they are CREATING racial tension, racial hatred, and bigotry in America in a generation of Americans who were not raised with that being the reality. Calling someone a racists is one of the most emotionally charged horrible slanders that can be thrown. Those that are accused of it are hurt and angered. And as a result, they become bitter, and some even become the racists that they weren’t before. It creates a wedge in a divide that was slowly closing. It begins to open that divide up again.

And much as I have often said, it is that divide in the American people that keeps Washington from being held accountable. So long as those on the left continue to believe that those on the right are racist scum, they will never come together to find out the truth. Much like politicians keeping democrats and republicans hating each other, they are also keeping blacks and whites separated. As someone who’s three closest friends over the last 20 years were a black man, a Korean, and a Filipino, I can only say that we have a lot to learn from each other. And that will never happen so long as we permit these assholes with a microphone to keep us divided for their own benefit.

The claims of racism for political gain where racism isn’t the actual issue are the lowest form of slander in today’s America. It is time that we stood up to those who use it. Those on the left have to begin holding the liberal media, Democratic politicians, and liberal celebrities accountable. Boycott, reprimand, refuse to vote for, do whatever you can to show them that this tactic is no longer acceptable. Those on the right have to do the same when Hannity, Limbaugh, and Beck make claims like they do. Racism is real. It isn’t a game. It may not be nearly as bad as it was 40 years ago, but it is still there. And its use as a political tool has to stop.

Let’s face it. The extreme right wing is more likely to be racist than anyone else. It’s a generalization, but we will make it. There is a correlation between racism and irrational patriotism. Had they not care about his race, the birther movement would not have been this huge of a movement. This people trying to impeach Obama on the basis of some lineage idea they have in their heads, when they are the same people who voted for John McCain who, in fact, was born in Panama.

I left a couple of comments on a YouTube video of the Alan Grayson thing and got suckered into a debate with this guy obdaddy. So far, we’ve gone back and forth on waterboarding, torture, religion, the media, Rush, Crowder, Obama, liberalism, conservatism, and a good bit more. Essentially, he’s a bitter middle-aged man who can’t send a message or leave a comment without being condescending (concerning our age gap), insulting people (“tea baggers”), or something of the like.

It’s almost funny how he calls me a “zombie” and a “sheep” when he regurgitates (or at least appears to) stuff I’ve heard many, many times. Let’s just go through a quick rundown of some of what he’s said to me.

He really harped on Rush being a druggie, despite me trying to explain that Rush got hooked on what was originally necessary medicine (or as necessary as painkillers can be). He also consistently ignored the fact that Rush kicked the drug.

He told me to stop mindlessly listening to Hannity, Beck, and the like. I told him I’ve watched Hannity maybe three times and I’ve never even heard or watched Beck, or any of a number of other people he mentioned. He proceeded to call me a liar. To which I say, why would I lie about something like that? I told him I listen to Rush! Why wouldn’t I “admit” to listening to Beck or Hannity if I did? It makes no sense to me.

He said that waterboarding is torture because the waterboard-ee doesn’t know that it’s relatively harmless. So, apparently, we’re now allowing the ignorance (or lack thereof) of terrorists to dictate what we define as torture.

He accused me of being in a cult when I said I believe that the overwhelming majority of “Christians” are not Christians at all. However, I gave him specific Biblical reasons for this. He replied by saying that not everyone believes the Bible. To which I said that that doesn’t matter! Do you have to believe the Qur’an in order to use it to determine whether or not someone’s a Muslim? No.

He called pretty much every sort of media “snake oil salesman” (Rush, ESPN, liberal news, Disney, etc.), apparently because their motivation is selling adspace and stuff. I’ve asked him if he hates capitalism or something, but no response to that yet.

He says that I’m just a young idealist who’ll learn better as I grow. Does that ring just plain false with anyone else? Let’s see, the demographics show that a much bigger proportion of middle-aged people are conservative compared to the number of college students who are conservative. Seems to me that it is far more likely that my peers will grow to be conservatives, rather than us few conservatives growing to be liberals.

He essentially called liberalism the ideal of being benevolent, of helping society’s weak and claimed that conservatives construe health care for all as “evil.” I asked him what he, personally, does to help society’s weak and gave a few examples of what I’ve done, pointing out that liberals would actually have laws passed forcing others to care for society’s weak, rather than caring for them themselves. He hasn’t yet cited a single thing he’s done to care for the weak. He also told me not to try and pass off missionary work as anything other than condescending and rude. Someone’s got to explain that one to me.

He said Tea Partiers are racist and hateful but has yet to supply a single example (although I did ask). He claims he’s not calling me racist but says I “protest too much” when I gave him the short version of what’s in my letter to Janeane Garofalo.

If you are an accomplished liar that is. And if you have no qualms about shamelessly and disgustingly demagoguing fellow American citizens. Pelosi, whilst faux-wringing her hands, almost seems to be hoping for it; it is a tactic used often by the Left. Use identity politics, pit people against one another. They’ve been actively encouraging it with their inflammatory rhetoric all Summer long. The latest: out-right lie and accuse people of harboring vile thoughts while comparing them to heinous acts that have nothing to do with the topic at hand nor the current situation in any way, shape or form.

Thankfully, Pelosi is wrong, as usual. We won’t be intimidated into silence, but neither are we violent. In fact, any violence at the town halls were perpetrated by the Left and Unions (redundant?) Yet another case, Nancy, of methinks you doth Project too much.

She also seems to need some help with her memory. Perhaps the botox was injected too deeply and hit her hippocampus (that’s in the limbic system – shout out to Garofalo). Maybe she should ask Dianne Feinstein to refresh her memory; she still lives in the past, evidently, as her hairstyle has not changed since Milk’s assassination. Meow.

Milk was murdered by a nut-job, David White, in whose defense that whole “twinkie defense” idea was originated. His political views had nothing to do with it, he was just cuckoo-pants. It must be noted, since Pelosi has implied that party affiliation somehow begets violence, that White was a fellow Democrat.

From Instapundit, quoting Hot Air.

LOSING IT: Nancy Pelosi chokes up about political violence, doesn’t mention Ken Gladney. “Pelosi wants to silence opposition since she cannot outargue it, and her implied reference to the murders of Milk and Moscone as somehow comparable to political opposition to the Obama administration is flat-out despicable.” And desperate.

Dear Nancy: Another bit of advice. If you are going to pretend to actually *care* about people, please work on your faux-tears; that was a rather pathetic display. Get some helpful tips from Hillary Clinton. She had a far better performance with her faux-tears during the campaign.

I was looking through some news stuff tonight. Somewhere I stumbled across an audio clip of our favorite village idiot Jeanine Garofalo. Seriously, does this woman not look as though she just crawled out of a crack den to deliver her arrogant and completely false claims each night. I try not to be hateful. But you have to call a spade a spade sometimes. Garofalo is a nasty partisan hack. And it would be easy to simply blow her off as a greasy, dirty, homeless looking crackpot, if so many people were not packing into her shows and listening to her hate and giving her a standing ovation for it. I am no fan of Ann Coulter. But at least she has some semblance of reality to her rants. Coulter is hateful and nasty, but she brings facts to the table and 50% of the time the facts are presented honestly (at best). But Garofalo isn’t even close to presenting facts. I know those on the left are going to skewer me for offering up Garofalo as an example, but she was merely the thing that got me thinking on this subject.

The line that got me in Garofalo’s rant was when she referred to all the “teabaggers” yet again. We all remember her saying that the tea parties were nothing but racist rednecks gathering because they are upset about a black man in the White House. at a performance at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC (one of the absolute best places in the world to see a concert, for the record) the other night, she ranted:

“The functionally retarded adults, the racists – with their cries of, ‘I want my country back,’ You know what they’re really saying is, ‘I want my white guy back.’ They apparently had no problem at all for the last eight years of habeas corpus being suspended, the Constitution being shit on, illegal surveillance, lied to on a war or two, two stolen elections – yes, the John Kerry one was stolen too. That’s not tin-foil hat time. That’s just fact”

The sad part is that she actually believes what she is saying. She really believes it. Just as she truly believes that the left has no voice in the American media. Yes she really said that. After walking off stage in the UK when the crowd didn’t find her rants funny, she gave an interview to the BBC, in which she said, “Mostly the media in the States is much more to the right. I mean there is almost no liberal outlet for news commentary and editorializing.” And the even more saddening part is that there are a good many people on the left who are actually buying her bullshit. She got a standing ovation for that rant at the 9:30 Club. As many of you may guess, I engage a lot of people in political conversation. It is stunning to me the number of people who consider themselves Democrats who actually believe all these types of horrible things.

I routinely get told that the town hall protesters or tea party folks are racists. I regularly get told that Republicans or conservatives in America are hypocrites because they support socialism on the right but have a seizure when it is done on the left. I even hear on a regular basis from folks that the media in America is too far skewed to the right!

Despite claims by BOTH parties (because they don’t want to admit that the public is starting to see them as not legitimate), there have been significant increases in the number of Independent voters. Even in heavily liberal Kalifornia, the number of people registered as Independents is at an all time high. As I pointed out in the article the other night, I believe this stems from a voting population that is beginning to see that both parties are full of shit. Neither wants to really help Americans. BlackFlag likes to say they are both exactly the same, just different shirt colors. I disagree. They both share the same goal: power over the people, expansion of government, and erosion of freedom. However, they have two entirely different views on how to accomplish those goals. The bottom line remains, regardless, that neither party is good.

Destroying America... With 1 Finger

As someone who used to be a Republican, and who falls on different sides on many issues, I think it is time we stopped letting the talking heads like Garofalo, Olbermann, and members of Congress define us. Because this is driven by the members of Congress. When you have the speaker of the House saying protesters are unAmerican, you have the root of the problem. Back her up with hateful rhetoric from people like Bob Cesca, and you can see how the country is being divided.

For me…. I found the things that George Bush did horrible. I hated the Patriot Act, as I have said many different times on this site. I despise the two wars, although I do feel it necessary to remind liberals that while they are unpopular wars and perhaps even immoral wars, they are NOT illegal wars. So stop using that term. They are Congress approved and funded, and therefore, like it or not, legal. Your sitting President voted FOR them. I think the 2000 election was a mess, and no matter who won, the other side could claim it was “stolen”. But it wasn’t. If you want a stolen election, check out the facts on that Franken debacle in Minnesota. I think Donald Rumsfeld was an idiot. I supported Colin Powell resigning and his reasoning. Overall, I am NOT happy at all with the last 8 years of Bush.

And I am not alone. MANY Americans, both Republican and Independent, feel that way. We are not upset with Obama because he is black, or because he is a Democrat. We are upset with him because he is a liar. And he is trampling all over the Constitution, just as the Republican administration before him did. We are upset with what is going on because IT IS WRONG, no matter which side of the aisle it is coming from.

Now, before I go too far, allow me to say that I don’t think it is any better on the far right. Coulter, Limbaugh, etc., are just as hateful, just as misleading, and just as damaging. I know people on the right who fall back on the rhetoric that all those on the left are drugged out hippies who want free pot and think animals are more important than people. When the reality is that many on the left believe no such thing. They don’t like what Obama is doing any more than I liked what Bush was doing.

So here is the bottom line, for all those that wonder where I am going with all of this. I have written about the “March Towards Socialism”. I have made my stance clear. EVERY administration has increased the size and scope of government. EVERY administration has taken away freedom and liberty in the name of serving their cause on the left or right. And that is the key thing that we ALL need to remember. When I say Obama is taking the country towards socialism or fascism or fasciolism, I am correct. HE IS. BUT SO DID EVERY OTHER PRESIDENT, WHETHER DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN, FOR THE LAST 100 YEARS!

It has become the inevitable fall of government in general, not just government from one side or the other. Barack Obama, in my opinion, is the most far left, marxist leaning President we have ever had. But he is simply the latest in a long line of Presidents that looked to expand government, increase its “legitimate” theft of our money and liberty, and increase the power of the elitists in Washington. I have a serious problem with the sentiment of Americans and the way that the politicians have played us all against each other. I will have an article soon on how the current trend of demonizing the rich is a faulty thought process. A little bit of “Atlas Shrugged” in a pill form. But don’t fall into the trap of thinking the far right in America has any less of a role in creating the “Atlas Shrugged” world we are heading towards.

So as we look towards the future, remember this rant. Remember that if we are going to fix this country, fix this drain on liberty, we are going to have to work together. There are those on the far right that are racists. There are those on the far left that are communists. Ignore them for now. You can’t change their mind with any law or any argument. Those who are here, discussing the future of this country, are with us, not against us. They have differing ideas, and are sometimes misguided in their endeavors. But we are no different. We all want the same thing, a better country. A better life. Ultimately, true freedom. Rhetoric and falsehoods against the other side will not convince anyone to change their mind or even think about their position.

Mathius has some differing thoughts, but he is here sharing them and debating the merits. He wants a better country. Ray is here doing the same (although to be brutally honest Ray, you have got to stick to the issues and give a bit of benefit of the doubt rather than just calling me a liar, playing semantics, and calling me a closet conservative, really dude). BlackFlag is as far from many people’s beliefs as can be, but he is consistent and debates with integrity and honesty. I think you all get the picture: We all have a lot to learn from each other. And it will take us all to get where we want to go. Freedom and liberty is our RIGHT. We were born with it, and we have allowed politicians to take it from us bit by bit. Our quarrel is not with each other, it is with the politicians, media, and idealogues who have spent decades poisoning our minds towards one side or the other.

And allow me to throw a thanks out to all who come here and discuss and debate, for I wanted a place where respectful conversation could being to find a way forward, and no matter the topic or the frames of reference, everyone has discussed honestly and respectfully. I cannot tell you how proud it makes me that this site continues to be a beacon of civility in an otherwise uncivil segment of American discussion.

So if you all want a challenge, there it is. Seek out the rhetoric. Look for the falsehoods presented on BOTH sides. And call it out. You hold more sway as a conservative to persuade your conservative friends that much of what we are hearing and being taught about the left is false. You hold more sway as a liberal to persuade your liberal friends that what we are hearing about the right is false. Don’t let Garofalo, Olberman, Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, Cesca, or the politicians define who Americans are.

It isn’t Republicans against Democrats. It isn’t left against right.

It is Americans against an out of control federal government. Remember that and pass it on. It will take us all to beat Washington DC.

Just when I found myself spiraling into full-fledged anger and dismay over the state of the World in general, Janeane Garofalo plucked me from the abyss and back into the realm of amused snickering.

When I first read about her having to leave the stage due to, you know, totally sucking as a comedian, I instantly thought this (and of course twittery tweeted it, as I’m a Twit Ho):

Aww, poor wittle Garofalo. The UK audience must have all been suffering from Stockholm Syndrome

Of course, she pulled the old “It’s not you, it’s me”, which every woman knows clearly means It IS you; you suck, I’m awesome. It’s like the “apologies” from politicians: “I’m so sorry some people are too stupid to realize what I meant and got offended, even though I totally did mean what they thought I meant. But, they can’t *really * know that because they are dum-dums and I am super smart”

Sorry, Janeane. My fatty limbic sees right through your facade (Yes, I know what that fancy pants word means too, even though I’m a bitter, evil, “from the sticks” Conservative.)

Just as amusing was her claim that there are no “Left media outlets”? Methinks someone may want to check out her own limbic system. And check on Olbermann and Matthews; they’ll be crushed to know that their fellow provider of HE-larious “tea bag” jokes doesn’t even watch their network, apparently.

I’ve also now realized that I’m totally taking back the phrase Stockholm Syndrome and turning it into a positive. Have y’all seen the chicks in Sweden? HOT. Thus, I think we Conservative dames should take it as a huge compliment. It would serve to confuse and bamboozle Janeane even further, as she clearly doesn’t have first-hand knowledge of what it means to be an attractive woman.

In short, thanks Janeane! For all the super nice compliments and for giving me my snicker back. Much appreciated.

FONTE: TempoStretto Germanà (Pdl): «Alfano ha premiato Messina. Mentre D’Alcontres…». Garofalo (Pdl)

FONTE: TempoStretto

Germanà (Pdl): «Alfano ha premiato Messina. Mentre D’Alcontres…».

Mentre l’on. Bufardeci e dell’on. Cimino».

The comments by Janeane Garofalo regarding the racists at the National Tea Parties on tax day April

The comments by Janeane Garofalo regarding the racists at the National Tea Parties on tax day April 15th were not only out of line, but an indication of how Americans are viewed in their own country.

Garofalo said that. “Let’s be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House.”. This comment made on a supposedly credible news station, MSNBC, with Keith Olbermann. While Olbermann, chuckled and agreed through his mumbles.

This unfounded attack went unchecked by Olbermann, par for the course, and Garofalo has since gone nearly unchallenged. In her only challenge since then, she said that, “…people didn’t know what they were there for…” and, “…everyone there was a racist…”. If Garofalo, and others like her, for instance the news outlet she was on, are left to do as they please. With unfounded statements, that the majority of the media picks up and gets behind, true Americans are in danger.

Garofalo didn’t mention how the protesters at the tea parties were of all political parties, of all ages, of all backgrounds in race. She focused on a foolish statement that she is now getting mileage out of.

The Americans at the protests were just like anyone else that takes pride in their country. They were gathering peacefully, united, for the purpose to say they have had enough with the government. It wasn’t about one issue, but a conglomeration of many composed into a common vision.

If Americans sit by while they are attacked on all sides, they are only allowing for themselves to be silenced even further.

Tolerance is Becoming Intolerance Floyd and Mary Beth Brown, Expose Obama.com Modern America preache

Tolerance is Becoming Intolerance

Floyd and Mary Beth Brown, Expose Obama.com

Modern America preaches the value of tolerance. This says you have the right to your opinion, and I have the right to mine. We can agree to disagree. While this level of tolerance for all viewpoints has never been completely achieved, those on the left certainly preach it when they are vilifying those who hold traditional values, and attempt to label them as intolerant. In recent years, and culminating in the election of Barack Obama, we are entering a new era where you have only the right to agree with the modern liberal view, or else be ostracized as an extremist.

Upon Obama’s election, he promised to usher in a new era of post-partisan politics. No more conservative and liberal — just hope. On abortion, he said he wanted to move past the tired old politics. Translation: he wants to repeal all restrictions on abortion, but expects pro-life supporters to drop their disagreements and support him. Obama said it’s no longer about whether government is too big or too small, it’s about how effective it is. In reality, Obama has ushered in the largest expansion of federal government in any 100-day period in United States history. This period of censorship of disagreement goes well beyond Obama to many of the liberal elites.

Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano joined the thought police by allowing her department to issue a report labeling any person holding a conservative political viewpoint a potential terrorist. This is the same Department of Homeland Security that said from now on, terrorism will be called man-caused disasters. Napolitano will tolerate Islamic terrorists, yet she has no tolerance for pro-life individuals. People who favor a smaller federal government are considered dangerous enemies of the state. This type of discrimination against opposing viewpoints is becoming rampant in our society.

American “enemies of the state” took to the streets to show their support for fiscal responsibility by attending tea parties. Because this view was not approved by the liberal elites, these protesters were mocked incessantly on CNN, NBC and CBS. The worst case of disdain for tea party participants came from Janeane Garofalo. Speaking on “Countdown with Keith Olbermann,” she said, “Let’s be very honest about what this is about. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up and is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. There is no way around that.” Garofalo proceeded to claim that conservatives suffer from a mental disorder. None of this was refuted in any way by host Keith Olbermann. Evidently, hate speech is only allowed when it is against Christians or conservatives. There are allegations that the FBI was spying on these very peaceful demonstrations.

Another example of this suppression of traditional thought occurred at the Miss USA pageant. Celebrity judge Perez Hilton, a famous gay blogger, asked Miss California if she supported gay marriage. She very politely and graciously said that is up to the different states but she personally opposes it. The Miss USA contest strongly disagreed with Miss California’s position, and after the show Perez Hilton launched a diatribe calling the young lady a “dumb B” and later called her the C-word. These hateful attacks would certainly be repudiated if it were a conservative saying them. However, Perez Hilton and his far-left cohorts are free to say whatever they want as long as they are attacking conservatives.

This same principle applies as the left pushes the fairness doctrine and attempts to pass hate-speech laws that will silence Bible-believing Christians. If you disagree with them, then you have no right to speak your beliefs.

America is founded on the principles that all men are created equal and have inalienable rights protected by our Constitution. These rights and protections are what separate our free society from authoritarian governments that have no constraints on government power. Yet Alexis de Tocqueville warned about coercion of thought in his classic book, “Democracy of America.” He cautions us, saying that democracies can become even more oppressive than other forms of government when conformity is pushed in the culture. This conformity is being shoved on our society at an alarming rate. Christians and people who hold conservative viewpoints are demonized and mocked in schools, in the media and now by the Dept. of Homeland Security and the Obama administration. Those who hold traditional viewpoints had better speak out; otherwise, in the near future they may be forced to keep their lips zipped.

“I told Immelt that ‘We surround you’ and that it was time for a ‘GE Tea Par

“I told Immelt that ‘We surround you’ and that it was time for a ‘GE Tea Party’ to reign in this out of control corporation.” –Tom Borelli, attendee at GE Shareholders Meeting

Chalk another one up on the board for the [not so] silent majority, and I suspect, 912ers! Tom Borelli, from the Free Enterprise Project, and on behalf of The National Center for Public Policy Research, attended the GE shareholders meeting on Tuesday, accompanied by his wife Deneen. What transpired was a glimmer of hope for those that are sick and tired of being called “teabagging rednecks” or assaulted with insulting categorizations like “not the most intellectual people in the world, not the most savvy people in the world…an unfortunate part of our society… a scourge on our society.” (quotes courtesy of “actress”, can we really call her that?, Janeane Garofalo).

“The crowd was very upset with MSNBC because of its leftward tilt. Some former employees said they were embarrassed by it.” — attendee at GE shareholders meeting (about 400 in attendance)

Deneen Borelli asked the first question of Jeff Immelt, GE CEO, inquiring about whether Immelt tried to silence any anti-Obama criticism from employees of GE-owned CNBC. As more questioning continued, further discussion heated up with additional comments of the same vein being voiced from many other audience members. Some comments even focused on the latest media bias from GE owned MSNBC, specifically on comments from Janeane Garofalo, who accused Tea Party organizers and protesters of being “racist rednecks”, “mentally disturbed” and worse, which went unchallenged by Keith Olbermann. Reports indicate there were lots of rumblings from the crowd against MSNBC.

The story has so much more to it, so be sure to read on in these posts that continue the saga, from Amy Ridenour’s National Center Blog, a project of The National Center for Public Policy Research.
