Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for most people, but for me, it’s just another day of working. I guess it’s alright, but it still stinks that I have to work on a NATIONAL HOLIDAY! Why do the Cowboys play on that day? I mean, really, on Thanksgiving!? Thank goodness they don’t play on Christmas, or I’d be out of a job. That day is WAY more important to me than an actual job, believe it or not.

But since it is Christmas time, officially, for me! I have plenty of things to occupy my time now! Next week, we will be making the purchase of the year!!!!: THE TREEEEE!!!!!!!! I suppose this year we must choose between a flocked and a not…flocked. *Shudders* I love flocked trees…the mess is less. Well, we’ll just have to battle it out.

What am I thankful for?

The fact that I have NOTHING to ask for for Christmas. I am truly blessed in the sense that I have no need for anything. The things that I WANT are of course way too expensive to ask anyone to purchase for me. I’m completely satisfied. The only thing I would wish for is to be able to live at home happily so that I can save money. I would literally have saved $7,000. It’s so expensive to live on my own, but I do enjoy it much better than living at home, unfortunately. I guess we’ll just have to see how it goes this next month and a half. I have to weigh my happiness against my need for money. I’m doing fine on money, just so you know, I just could be doing BETTER! That’s probably going to be the biggest issue between Garrison and I. We hate spending money. It’s silly, but I guess it’s just in our genes to be rich. hahahahahaha! I can’t wait to live poor with him. I love him.

On that note: Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating tomorrow, goodnight!

IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK AT LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS!!! EVERYWHERE WE GO!!! da da dad adadad dad adad dada (this is how Dad and I finish the song, because we can’t remember the words)

Today, I went to my grandparents to cook our early thanksgiving dinner that’s tomorrow. I guess I didn’t really “cook” it. I just prepared it. This is about my 3rd year (maybe 4th, can’t remember) to cook Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner. I make 5 pies, watergate salad, sweet potato casserole, broccoli rice casserole, and cranberry sauce the day before. Then, the next day I’ll make green beans, rolls, and prepare the appetizer. Anyway, it takes about 4-5 hours for me to prepare everything because those stinkin pies take forever to make. However, at least I got a free dinner out of it. But of course, there’s always the lecture. I made the mistake of telling my grandmother that I was going to wear my boots with my one day wedding dress. Apparently, that’s goush? French for tasteless…. whatever. I really don’t care what anyone says….it’s my day, my money, and my decision. I’ll wear boots if I want. I guess if it would make them happy I’ll change into other shoes during the garter toss or whatever so they don’t have to see them, but I’m not wearing heels, I’m not wearing white shoes. It’s stupid. They’ll either be boots or end up being blue.

So, anyway, tomorrow is our Early Thanksgiving. We’ll putting up the tree and giving our Christmas lists. Allllright! I guess that’s all: goodnight!

Schade eigentlich.

ohhhh! Yesterday was so much fun! Garrison and I were at lunch at Candle Light Inn and he asked what I wanted to do, and I named off a ton of options and then I said we could go pick up an angel from Six Flags and then go shopping for our little angel! He agreed and then we went to Six Flags. The mean ol security guard wouldn’t let him go to the ADMIN building with me so I had to pick the angel myself. OH well. Garrison said he wanted a boy, so I went in and looked over all the tree and I was quite disappointed in what I saw. Probably 75% of the angels I saw wanted an MP3 player… Really?! You can’t be THAT poor if you’re asking for an MP3 player! That requires a computer and music and obviously a computer with updated software that’s compatible with the MP3 player…. Anyway, I skipped over all of those and found a little boy that was 7 years old and wanted a FIRE TRUCK! And he needed a coat! That’s what I’m talking about! So, off we went to Target to shop for this kiddo that was simple! So, first we started in the dollar section and we found some gloves and a hat for a buck each! yeah! In the beginning, we decided we were each going to spend $30, and that Garrison would purchase all the toys and I would get the clothes. Off we went to the toy section. We had to get the Fire Truck first. We found a cute, large, Tonka fire truck that came with a fireman for only $10! That left 20 more bucks to spend on toys! Garrison was headstrong on getting him cars. So, he picked out a set of 10 cars for $10. Then, he got him a bat and ball. The bat was for grown up kids, but still soft and with a soft ball. Next, we got clothes. Since he asked for a coat, that was our obvious first stop. We didn’t know what KIND of coat he needed so we get the biggest one they had! hahaha! He’s really nice and fluffy and has fleece in the hood and sleeves. It was $20, that meant I only had about 8 bucks left! (the hat and gloves were 2…) I was really disappointed, but I picked out a pair of jeans for $9. It was only a dollar more, so it was ok. Then Garrison said let’s go look at the Christmas stuff! So, I found 15 ft of garland for 1 buck! So, I got 2. I needed to decorate my dorm room! I felt bad, though, because I only got the little boy a couple of things. So, I told Garrison I was going to spend his Christmas money on the little boy (of course, he didn’t care) and I ended up buying him shirt. So, all in all, we spent about $80. hahahaha! But I don’t feel bad for spending more than I was going to… I feel good, actually! I guess that was my good deed of the season.

I also had to purchase an unwrapped toy so that when we go to Schlitterbahn I can get in for free. I guess I’m all about charity this year! hahaha!

Last night was Club A-Hall. Our Hall Council put it on. It was from 8-12. It was SOOOOO dead until about 10ish, when we had a line about 20 feet long!! WOW! I was slightly disappointed though because there was only one race there… and there was only one genre of music played. It was cool though, people enjoyed it, and that’s all that matters, I guess. I hope next year, if they do it, they can attract all kinds of races and have a more diverse thing. Well, I mostly likely won’t be a part of it next year anyway.

Approximately 205 people showed up so that’s really good. We had some really tasty drinks even though there was a HUGE mess made…oh well. It all got cleaned up. Well, that’s all I have for today!

Bye!

Yes, I know this is a super late, but I wanted to blog about the amazing wedding that I shot in May

Yes, I know this is a super late, but I wanted to blog about the amazing wedding that I shot in May of this year. First of all, it was my first job as a solo wedding photographer. Not only was it the first time being the ONLY photographer, but I also didn’t have my lucky wedding planner with me for any stresses that may have arisen. Thank God, I can say that the wedding went rather smooth for a first timer.

The bride and groom happen to be personal friends of ours, so I was also technically a guest, which any photographers out there know, means you really just get to sit and eat with everyone instead of at the “help table” hidden in the corner! LOL I still had an amazing time as both a guest and a photographer!

It was a foggy morning heading up the mountain to the Osborn Castle in Garrison, NY. We were all crossing our fingers that the rain would hold out, and hopefully we’d get a peek from the sun at some point. Katie, the bride, was one of the most relaxed and casual brides I have ever met. She wore white Rocket Dog wedge flip flops under her wedding gown, and the groom, Ryan, wore a navy suit sans the tie. Ryan’s best man was his long time friend Joe, and Katie’s Maid of Honor was her sister Michaela.

The hard part about shooting a friends’ wedding… keeping your emotions hidden and getting the job done. When I started snapping pictures of Ryan’s face during his first glances of his wife-to-be heading down the aisle, it was hard not to have tears welling up in my eyes.

Once they joined hands at the alter the smiles could not be wiped from their faces. You could not only see the love between them, but you could feel it in the air. Again, I was choking back tears of joy to see two friends so happy together and just beaming in front of all of their friends and family.

Ryan and Katie wrote their own vows to each other which were written beautifully. Not only was it a beautiful ceremony, but the venue was simply gorgeous. The charm of the castle was perfect, and the colors and flowers she chose fit perfectly to add simple beautiful touches. Her flower choice was daisies, and she made all of her place card holders by hand, as she is an art teacher!

One final shot for now… Katie and her father while we were doing the traditional family portraits. These two have such a beautiful relationship that I can’t even explain it in words. I think this picture portrays it very well, and is one of my favorite shots from the entire day. The bond they share is visible to anyone who sees them together.

This week I went to Borders, one of my favorite book stores in New York City, close to Madison Squar

This week I went to Borders, one of my favorite book stores in New York City, close to Madison Square Garden. I was so impressed with the amount of chocolate books they have. They are really expensive, but you get your money’s worth with all those delicious chocolate recipes and photos. In fact, I spent a lot of time there having fun and collecting some material that I would like to share with you.

A Year in Chocolate – 80 recipes for holidays and special occasions, by Jacques Torres, was one of the books that most called my attention. Do you see the illustrations on the cover? Pay attention to what is suggested:

Happy New Year: time for hot chocolate

Spring Easter baskets

Ice Cream sandwiches for Summer

Halloween: trick or treat?

The world-renowned pastry chef and chocolatier, Jacques Torres, presents us with a calendar’s worth of treats sure to make every celebration of the year more luciously enjoyable. All the holiday classics are in the book. Valentine’s Day bonbons, a molded chocolate Easter Bunny, ice cream sundaes for the Fourth of July and chocolate Caramel Corn for Halloween.

Adapting all his recipes for the home cook, Jacques Torres showcases his favorite chocolate creations – from traditional French pastry to classic American treats.

With 150 ecstasy-inducing photos of the finished dishes, A Year in Chocolate is the chocolate cookbook that has to be on your kitchen table. If you are a professional chocolatier or a chocolate seller, this book is also a good source of inspiration to find creative ways to promote chocolate recipes according to the seasonal sales.

Today’s chocolates have gone upscale, mixing flavors such as chili peppers, caramel or wasabi with high-quality bittersweet or imported chocolate. But creating such mouth-watering confections no longer requires a cooking degree and Making Artisan Chocolates will teach you all the inside tips, techniques and methods for making designer-quality chocolates at home. Once only available to pastry chefs, the techniques shown in the book will help you create chocolate to rival those found in upscale retail stores and chocolate shops.

Forget milk chocolate candy bars – the recipes in this book combine daring and unusual flavors to create truly unique culinary creations using ingredients such as vanilla beans, mint and fresh raspberries.

Yesterday was my birthday! I am officially 20! Unfortunately/fortunately, I had to work at the stad

Yesterday was my birthday! I am officially 20!

Unfortunately/fortunately, I had to work at the stadium on my birthday. However, everyone there was absolutely sweet! My supervisor, Jonathan, and the beverage expeditor, Justin, cut cookies out in the shape of the letters of my name. It was so cute! Then, later, they sang happy birthday to me and I felt so loved! hahaha! I definitely felt like a part of the team. I’ll never forget that.

I had somewhat of a difficult/boring day, though. I don’t really want to talk about it on here because once again, I’d rather not remember the unnecessary parts of the day. I got tipped once again, which I enjoyed very much! haha!

Today, Garrison and I were watching Family Feud and the question was which fast food restaurant (YES! For once, I spelled that correct on the first try!) has the best french fries. So, I was inspired to go to BURGER BOX! Geeze, do I love that place!? Garrison and i have been going there for like 2 or 3 years now and they remember us! They say hello to us every time and always ask how we’re doing and they remember our regular orders. And my asian bridesmaid lady always knows I don’t want ice in my cup.

Then, I needed to go to the mall because I had a free VS panty, but I had thought about purchasing a bra as well, but we ended up not getting to that and got distracted by the pro shop. We found out we get a discount there, so hello Christmas! lolz. Then, Garrison said something about the Pro Shop at the stadium and I got all excited because I’ve never been to it. Then, he said let’s take a tour!! So, we did! haha! It’s pretty sad that I have to take a tour of my own JOB! Plus, we didn’t even get a discount, even though it was the same company as we work for. Oh well. Anyway, the tour was nice. We got to see the locker room, which was enjoyable especially since it didn’t stink. Actually, I had seen all the other things they showed us, but I heard a lot of new things. It was nice.

I didn’t purchase anything at the pro shop, even though I thought about buying a bag that was for breast cancer with the Cowboy’s star on it. However, it was white. Eh. I would get it dirty in NO time. So, I decided against it.

BUT I did buy Taylor Swift’s new Fearless Platinum CD for myself! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I actually haven’t listened to it or watched anything yet, believe it or not.

My feet are cold.

I’m gonna be a big girl soon! No longer a teenager! you’re JEALOUS! hahahahaha! Anywho,

I’m gonna be a big girl soon! No longer a teenager! you’re JEALOUS! hahahahaha!

Anywho, today was Aunt Kathys and Albert’s wedding. I took thems pictures. I haven’t looked yet. I don’t want to yet because if I do then it will take me 500 years to get through them all, and I need to go to bed! I have to work at the stadium tomorrow so beauty sleep is a must!

They had a beautiful wedding, if you ask me! I really liked the blanket part of the ceremony – much better than a unity candle or SAND! hahahahahaha! Sorry, I had to. Anyway, I hope I got some good shots in, at least! I think I did. I’m SO glad I had a flash to use! Otherwise, pictures would have been…slightly underwhelming. Thanks MOM, DAD, MAWMAW AND LISA!

OHHHH! I’m rich! I’m rich! hahahaha! I definitely have enough to go and buy some booties! More than enough, probably! Maybe I should save it though. I don’t know. Shopping is in order. I could spend this money to buy looots of things…or to buy boots. I don’t know, though, what I want to do. I’m not going to buy boots unless I’m absolutely in LOVE with them. Like Garrison.

I have to work tomorrow. Yes, on my birFday! I’m hoping I can use it to my advantage, though, and get some tipperoonies! We’ll seeee! Hopefully, it won’t be too long of a day tomorrow, either so I can get home and sleep! I’m already worn out from this wedding! Plus, I think I pulled a muscle in my ankle! It’s been hurting for about 6 days now! OW! I don’t even know how I did it or what I did!

There is a lot of noise outside my window. It sounds like when you push too hard on your bow on the violin and it makes that crunchy noise. ICIICKCKKC! >:O

Well, I think that’s the cue to turn on the tv and cuddle up in bed and fall asleep!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MEEEE!

It’s not an even day, I know.

Last night I got the flu shot lecture but it also followed with the 15 bucks in order to receive the shot, so I should go ahead and just get it. I hope it doesn’t make me sick. We’ll see. At least if it does, I’m not a huge part of the office today. I just need to be feeling ok by Sunday. I’m sure I’ll be fine, but i need to go eat. I can’t get it until after 1 anyway. They have a lunch break from 12-1.

I went to Grandma and Poppa’s last night to visit and see Uncle Mike. I got to show everyone my ring and it makes me really happy that they like my Boo! Poppa was asking me what my ring meant and I told him it meant that one day Garrison wants to make the commitment to spend the rest of his life with me, but until then he promises to be faithful, loving, and to always give me hugs and kisses and all that other mushy stuff you don’t like to talk to your Poppa about. And he said well you need to keep him. I don’t think you’ll find anyone better than him. I agreed. :) He’s mine! FOREVER.

And I also fried up some chicken and Uncle Mike made some corn and mashed potatoes and he also made a pina colada cake. I have to say, my chicken was darn good. I like frying it in the deep fryer a lot better than the pan. Cause I don’t know how hot the oil is in the pan, plus, you can put just as much in the basket as in the pan, but it takes a shorter amount of time. In the pan we’re looking at about 6 or 7 minutes on one side and then about 4 to 5 minutes on the other. In the fryer, it was about 7 minutes total.

It stormed really bad last night. It kept me up for about an hour. It really sounded like a tornado. I guess it didn’t help that the wind was blowing between the two buildings and the train going through. It was really scary to me. It also sounded like it was hailing so I hope my car is ok. :( I don’t actually know if it did hail or not. I just heard a lot of clinking against my window, but it also could have been really big rain drops. Luckily, I didn’t have class today so I got to sleep in.

Oh yeah, Patches was out in the yard with Gwyn while she was weed eating and he decided to get curious and it whacked part of his pad off of his paw. Poor baby. Hopefully, now, he’ll know not to do that, or Gwyn can just put him in his cage when she does yard work. So, he went to the vet today and they gotta drug him up and clean out his paw and then stitch it up. I was going to go with Garrison to the vet, but since that storm kept me up I decided to let him handle it himself. He did a good job, of course.

Well, I guess I’m going to take a shower then get some lunch and then get my flu shot and then go to work. :-/

I gotta stop watching wedding shows on tv cause I get that wedding bug. Then, I remember I’m only 20 with no degree. Even though we have been together for 4.5 years.
