Code Geass is an awesome anime. The story line and the plot twists in every episode put you on the edge of your seat every second you watch it. I cried during the final episode, that’s how good it was.

On August 10th, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was renamed Area 11, and the Japanese people are renamed “Eleven” and forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan. After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, did nothing to pursue the terrorists who murdered his mother and crippled his sister, a young boy named Lelouch, vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later in Area 11, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of the Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.

Right after Beijing, China, the next Olympics will be held at London, England four years from now. By 2012 we will be seeing a televised documentation and preparation by the Olympics organizers as it will be grand and huge. Like the previous Olympics, they have provided a logo for the specific Olympic event and recently China’s were great. And now some people are now providing hilarious designs for the 2012 London Olympics.

Do you know Goatse (oops, don’t click on the link if you are under 18)? It’s one of the internet’s painful 5 that features a homosexual faggot literally stretches his anus to a certain extent of ripping it off. Disgusting it is, and how about seeing the whole Goatse collection of him putting anything long and hard in his ass. And this dude is married. Since then, Goatse becomes an internet legend that haunts everyone who sees it and it inspired so many internet related images, not to mention this Olympic Logo for London 2012. BBC news has featured it in their website.

That’s not over. There is another logo that was seemingly harmless with a twist. One dude take the color coding of baby pink and baby blue like the MMDA does on their footbridges and male urinals. He made this abstract “2012” design, with the ‘20’ at the top with the ’12’ below.

There’s nothing wrong with this, ayt? Let me roleplay as the Voltron: Defender of the Universe and “I’ll form the head”:

As a L337 person, I don’t usually appreciate mainstream series, whether it is anime, live action, drama or tokusatsu. That’s why I lack the knowledge of Kamen Rider Ryuki, Faiz or even Hibiki. I never tried to bother following new anime series aired by local channels recently because we have the internet for updates. I don’t even taking myself into an account to cosplay anything that comes from the mainstream series. I overlooked Code: Geass so much because it is popular in the internet that I won’t bother joining in the bandwagon of shitstorm. Then TV5 bought it and then airs it locally. Still I won’t budge. I have said long ago I will only watch a series, whatever that is, and whenever I feel like it. Until I saw this sexy animooted pic of CC.

Still can’t be convinced, yet I’m having second thoughts on the said series that spawn the origin of the lulzy “spinzaku” and “JIBUN WOOOOOOOOOOO”. CC having a sexy ass was already established as a common knowledge. Lelouch is a fag that is why we have Luluko. Pizza Hut was their official sponsor. It’s a collaboration of CLAMP and Sunrise. Saw numerous CC, Kallen or Code: Geass related cosplays before, not to mention ecchi fanarts. Well whatever happens, when it comes to the 2012 Londom Olympics, it’s time for “Hail Britania!”

(I can’t even end this segment appropriately. Damn.)

“I won’t lose as long as I have the Guren MK. II ( Makenai… Atashi no.. Guren Nishiki nara!! ) ” Kallen Kouzuki – Code Geass Episode 10

Alright!! After 3 long weeks of waiting, Guren Nishiki Royal Coating Version is finally arrived.
Thanks to moncikoma-San from KG for getting me this from Japan (thank you very very much Bro!!)

For you who doesnt know yet, Guren Nishiki is a Knightframe ( in Gundam, it’s called mobile suit ) from Code Geass, the best anime series EVER!! ( Love it so much more than any Gundam Series ).

I personally think it’s the BEST design ever created for mecha, and this Guren Royal Coating Version from BANDAI is the BEST I’ve ever seen. There are other Guren Nishiki and they don’t look good as this neither do they offer many movement with the model kit, so I’d say this is DEFINITELY a must have for Code Geass lovers or Guren Nishiki lovers to be exact.

There’s a place for the cockpit and you get a small Kallen figure unpainted that you can put inside the cockpit. Absolutely COOL!!

It’s worth every penny for this model kit. If I’m not mistaken, there are two other Gurren MK. II, the price difference is not that much but the details and features are DEFINITELY a dissappointment compared to this.

It took a really long time to built it but it’s worth it…

I mean really! We pay for EMS shipping, the best available on HLJ, and then we get the super sucky, delayed services of Parcelforce when your package reaches the UK! EVEN if it is under the £18 threshold for outside-the-EU imports! Why bother forking out the extra cash, if its gonna take nearly as long as SAL anyways??!! I just wanted to get it before I left for Uni… but I doubt its gonna arrive tomorrow, so my parents are gonna have to either bring it to me or send it too me! GAWD Parcelforce suck, and Mr.Parcelforce, I hope you’re reading this!! Do you know how much pain you cause importers? My latest one was held for presentation to the customs guy, then it was ‘awaiting charges, then charging, and then it was released with charges anyway!!! What was the point in making me wait that extra time!! You can read the price on the box, the declared value! And it was UNDER £18!!!! FFS….

(This mainly applies to those who import from outside the EU, from the US, Japan, Hong Kong etc, importing from inside the EU doesnt usually incur charges, BUT it’ll still be delayed getting to you most of the time…. Or maybe its just the Parcelforce Coventry holding area thats super sucky at processing parcels? Cos thats where mine get sent for sorting everytime I’ve used EMS.)

I think I’ll just make one skin for this series since I only got one decent picture. This is the last match of the round. For group 31, I’m going for Hanyuu, but it’ll be nice if Minorin won. I’m not sure, but despite being a cameo in Zetsubou Sensei, Miku did pretty well last year over here. I wouldn’t be surprised if she won. Next year, she’ll be more official thanks to Black Rock Shooter. I need to look into that as well.

For Group 32, I’m voting for Mihoko who is the last Saki character in this tournament. She is definitely likely to fall against Ayumu though.

Από το προηγούμενο μου ποστ μπορεί κανείς να καταλάβει ότι μ’ αρέσουν τα anime. Σιγά σιγά θα αρχίσω λοιπόν να μιλάω και για τα anime που μου κέντρισαν το ενδιαφέρον αρκετά ώστε να τα προτείνω σε κάποιον.

Μια, λοιπόν, από τις καλές σειρές που τελείωσα χτες είναι το Code Geass, αν και τελείωσα μόνο το πρωτο μέρος, είναι γενικά μια σειρά που κεντρίζει το ενδιαφέρον αλλά είναι και την ίδια στιγμή μικρή σε μέγεθος οπότε και ιδανική γι’ αυτούς που δεν έχουν πολύ χρόνο για anime. Περιέχει ότι θα έπρεπε να περιλαμβάνει μια σειρά που σέβεται τον εαυτό της:

• Military war tactics.
• Mechas.
• Super powers that control the universe.
• Love stories between the main characters.
• Riots.
• Friendships who break up.
• Tyranny.

Έτσι λοιπόν αφού μετά από αρκετό καιρό είδα μια ενδιαφέρουσα σειρά εκτός από τις on-going είπα να το μοιραστώ μαζί σας. Αυτή τη στιγμή που μιλάμε κατεβάζω το Code Geass R2 από τους Eclipse.

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Code Geass is a good refresh to the classic Giant-Mech genre.  “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” is an original animation directed by Goroh Taniguchi with characters designed by the world famous Manga circle CLAMP and story by Ichiroh Ohkuchi.  The series is complete with two seasons, each comprising of 24 episodes.  Code Geass is produced by Sunrise and is licensed by Bandai.

Code Geass follows the story of the exiled Britannian prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who suspects his father, Emperor Charles li Britannia, of killing his mother Lady Anne.  After confronting his father, Lelouch along with his sister Nunnally, are expelled to Japan as bargaining chips under the surname alias Lamperouge.  There, Lelouch becomes friends with Suzaku Kururugi, the son of Japanese Prime Minister.  Shortly after their newfound friendship, Lelouch and Suzaku witness the downfall of Japan by the hands of the Britannian Empire.

Lelouch Gambling

Eight years later, Lelouch skips school and goes out gambling, then gets mixed up in the middle of a terrorist plot by Japanese nationalist.  In the truck Lelouch is in is a capsule thought to be a bio-hazardous weapon.  The truck runs into the ghettoes of former Japan, now known as Area 11.  During his misadventure, Lelouch reunites with Suzaku who became a Britannian soldier.  Just then the capsule opens, a girl falls out of it, and the trio is discovered by Suzaku’s commanding officer and squad.  Suzaku is shot for defending his friend, Lelouch manages to escape into the underground with the girl, but is discovered and arrested.  The girl shields Lelouch from the commander’s shot then grants Lelouch a special power called Geass.  Lelouch then turns to the commander and his squad and uses his new power, commanding them to execute themselves.

The entire plot of Code Geass is that Lelouch wants to recreate the world so that his sister Nunnally can live happily.  Lelouch’s second goal is to confront his father Charles directly for answers as to why he didn’t protect his mother during her murder eight years ago.  Using his Geass, Lelouch builds a resistance force against his father’s empire.  But at the same time, he struggles to juggle his identity as the ordinary student Lelouch Lamperouge and the charismatic resistance leader, Zero.

Pros

There are a lot of things going on in Code Geass that makes it compelling to fans of shounen style anime.  First, Code Geass has a fair balance between Lelouch’s ordinary life and his life as Zero.  This element of the anime gives it plenty of comic relief, seeing how tense moments can get when the story gets in depth into the politics and war.  Some comical moments in the clash between Lelouch’s alter egos include: the risk of his true identity being revealed by, of all things, a cat; the making of a giant pizza; and fan service.

Fan Service

Fan service is a-plenty in Code Geass.  There are bunny girls, awkward moments in the shower, swimsuits, basically slight nudity and revealing clothing (all mostly revolving one character: Kallen).  As such, these things make Code Geass unsuitable to children under age 14.  Fans age 14 and over may find this appealing, but for some women and parents, it’s probably something that might repulse you from the title.

Lelouch's Classmates

Code Geass doesn’t focus squarely on Lelouch alone.  It gives secondary characters a fair amount of time to reveal their importance to the story.  Their character developments complement Lelouch’s.  Characters that the story focuses on with so much detail are Lelouch’s classmates Shirley and Kallen, the mysterious C.C., as well as his younger sister Nunnally.  Their stories are central to Code Geass as they provide Lelouch with means of learning more about what he wants the world to be.

In a nutshell, Code Geass has a compelling story arc with several genres thrown in to a fantasy world.  It is murder mystery, war, slice of life and romance stories all rolled up into one.  There are times when Lelouch is met with moral implications that force him to decide one’s life.  The game of chess he plays on a global scale against his blood affects the way he wants to shape the world.  The two lives he leads as a student and a revolutionary is tearing him apart.  All of this happens while he unknowingly walks into a love web made by C.C., Kallen, Shirley and his half-sister Euphemia.  In other words, there’s something for everyone in Code Geass, despite it being mainly a shounen anime.

Giant Mechs

Code Geass’s final stake in the shounen genre is the Giant Mech.  Like Gundam, Macross, and other Giant-Mech animes, Code Geass has mechanical suits called Knightmare Frames which a human pilots into combat.  They’re all humanoid in design but unique as to how it maneuvers.  Instead of walking, Knightmare Frames have wheels on their feet, allowing them to travel at high speed on land.  They also have grappling hooks on both shoulders which allow the pilot to ensnare their target, disable them, or even destroy them.  But in every other respect, Knightmare Frames are just like every other Giant-Mech; they require pilots, travel at high speeds, fly, use range and melee weapons and are displayed in over-the-top battles where the use of humanoid weapons are not only economically unfeasible but unpractical.  They’re nice to look at, but this feature is just frill on an already good story.

Then again without Knightmare Frames, Code Geass wouldn’t really be a Giant-Mech anime.  Unlike the western-style shootouts and samurai sword plays of other Giant-Mech animes, what sets Code Geass apart is that the battles are carefully crafted.  As the mastermind behind his war, Lelouch plays out his strategies with the precision of a chess player.  In other words, the battles play out like a game of chess, with strategies and analysis of enemy movements.  This respect makes the battles a little more interesting rather than seeing the same old shoot-n-slash.

Cons

Too Many Characters

Although Code Geass gets a lot of things right, it also does a lot of things wrong.  Firstly, there are too many characters on stage at once which makes it hard to concentrate on the protagonist.  In relationship to how stories are written, Code Geass takes on a third person omniscient style, which gives us access to more than one character’s thoughts.  Although it works to create dramatic and tragic irony, it also creates a hole which the audience can fall into which is the attachment to a character whose destiny is doom.  (I cannot go into details about it without spoiling part of the story.)

Like Gundam, Code Geass has some really long and convoluted battles.  There are parts with battles between bitter foes and rivals but these battles are really separated.  Rather than focusing on one battle, the show jumps between several.  In a Manga, it’s easy to follow since you can go back pages, but in an anime it becomes difficult as it becomes easy to forget who shot who.  Although this may be a downside, the battles do slow down a little to present a bit of character development and drama.

But other than these two aspects, there’s very little to complain about.  I have a lot more to say about many characters’ flaws, but I lack the evidence to back up my claims, so I’ll just back away from that.

Conclusion

Lelouch's True Colors

As a pure shounen piece, “Code Geass: Lelouch’s Rebellion” is an excellent show.  It hits all the right spots with lots of action, plenty of drama, some humor here and there, a couple of “ah-ha!” moments, and of course the inclusion of Giant-Mechs.  The characters are more interesting than most in the same genre, and it keeps you wanting more.

I am so happy that I managed to acquire that Eve figure at nearly MSRP MISB, even though she’s years old. (^.^) If you haven’t watched BLACK CAT yet and are a fan of Yami from illogical Anime To Love Ru, what are you waiting for? Watch Black Cat now!!! After all, Golden Darkness was based off Eve.

They both have the exact same powers and are even voiced by the same Seiyuu. I love her so much.

But of course, unlike To Love Ru, Black Cat is a phenomenal series with great action scenes, a fantastic plot, awesome characters and memorable music. While not the best fight scene, the video above showcases Eve’s abilities and awesomeness!

Of course, what makes Eve so awesome is her innocence, demeanor and amazing power. She kinda reminds me of Fate and that’s always a good thing. I might be doing a whole post on her in the near future.

I know I haven’t been very active recently and that’s all due to the increase in work load as my final exams draw near. ( ¯3¯)

So yesterday I was watching Code Geass.  I absolutely love that show. It’s one of my favorite anime series in the world. Mainly because the mc is a genius know-it-all who thinks the world revolves around him. But I hate Lelouch now for what he did to the princess. She was my favorite character! In case you didn’t know, this is from episode 22. He couldn’t control his Geass, and he accidentally ordered her to kill all of the Elevens(I’m sorry, “Japanese.”)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He just had to be so freaking arrogant. I almost had nightmares from that episode. And from some reason, it reminded me of what was going on in Iran. Although they have almost nothing to do with each other. But now I’m paranoid about mass killings and wars and AAH! I hate Code Geass. But it’s an awesome show. Just that that was so unexpectedly violent from such a sweet princess. Stupid twists in stories.

Ahora me complazco en anunciarles que ya conseguí un sitio propio para miniANIME, (tuve la suerte de encontrar formas poco costosas para el obtención del sitio ) como pueden ver arriba en el link, la web aun esta en desarrollo, estaré por par de semanas actualizando y cambiando algunas cosas y agregue anuncios para tratar de costear los gastos, así que espero que sigan visitando la pagina y aprovechando su contenido.

One fine day on teh internets, I came across a program called the Rasterbator. It takes any image you upload [less than 1MB] and blows it up any size you want. A wizard guides you through the process step by step. When you’re done, it sends you a pdf file of  your image, blown up and made out of dots. A perfect site for all the otaku out there who don’t have money for all the posters they want. I made mine 9 sheets of paper square and posted it up on my door. I chose the 7mm size of the dots and ended up having to color it in with crayon.

Tips-Use the 10mm dot size. You don’t want to waste time coloring it in with crayon.

-Don’t use a character wearing white. It will blend into the paper.

We’ve gotten searches for a kagamine fansite that took people here, when we’re not a kagamine fansite anymore. [see last post] I’m going to take all the “Rin and Len Kagamine Fansite” links off of the videos, which will mean less visits but at least people won’t be confused when they see posts here that have nothing to do with the Kagamines. [Run-on sentence]

     In recent years, a select few anime took the world by storm.  One of those was Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, created by Sunrise, which brought the world the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, with character designs by the famous manga artist group, CLAMP.  Like Mobile Suit Gundam, Code Geass features mecha, giant pilot-able robots, in this world called Knightmare Frames.  However, that is only one facet of an extremely complicated story.  It takes place in a world with an alternate history in which the British monarchy began earlier and lost control of the British Isles during the Napoleonic Wars.  Subsequently, a new royal line was created in the Americas, and the Holy Britannian Empire became the greatest power on Earth.  After successfully invading Japan, it reduced the once-proud nation to nothing more than “Area 11,” forcing its citizens to give up their identities and sacrifice themselves for Britannia.

     It is in this situation that we meet Lelouch Lamperouge, a seemingly normal high school student of Britannian descent living in Tokyo.  When a pro-Japanese terrorist group flees through the city, Lelouch ends up getting caught in the crossfire.  He finds out that one of the members of the Britannian Army is his childhood friend, Kururugi Suzaku.  He also meets a mysterious girl named C.C., who gives him the power of Geass, the ability (in his case) to compel anyone to do whatever he says upon making eye contact.  Lelouch then chooses to assist the terrorists, and in doing so, reveals his true identity as Lelouch vi Britannia, the eleventh prince of Britannia.  In order to get revenge on the Britannian Empire for the death of his mother and the blinding and crippling of his sister, Nunnally, Lelouch dons the mask of Zero, a knight fighting for justice and the freedom of Japan.  Along with the terrorists he assisted, he forms the Order of the Black Knights and vows to fight against Britannia, no matter the cost.

     As I mentioned before, this series has many aspects of the mecha genre.  However, it also contains aspects of a thriller/cerebral story, like Death Note, a slice of life story (with all the high school shenanigans), and a historical drama.  So for me, personally, this hits everything I like at once.  Then we’ve got a massive cast and a strong group of main characters.  Lelouch is brilliant, ambitious, and vengeful.  Suzaku is kind, naive, and strong-willed.  C.C. is mysterious, all-knowing, and a tad manipulative.  Kallen Kōzuki, the student by day, terrorist by night, is stubborn, skilled in more ways than one, and just plain awesome.  And that’s only four of the main characters.  There’s also Shirley Fenette, Nunally, Euphemia li Britannia, etc. The story also continued with Season 2, otherwise known as Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2.  That brought in a ton of other new characters, like Gino Weinberg, Li Xingke, and Rolo Lamperouge.

     So you’ve got a strong cast and a highly compelling story.  There are constant twists and turns, through a combination of the dramatic plotline and the craziness of the battle sequences.  There are betrayals, strategic reversals, revelations, and so much more.  The soundtrack is absolutely epic, and the first opening theme song, Colors, by Flow, is one of the best pieces of J-Pop you’ll ever hear.  Now, I watched the English version.  However, from what I can tell, this is one anime where you can pick and choose.  Both the Japanese and English versions have their own virtues.  I only watched the latter out of habit.  In conclusion, if you like any of the things I mentioned above, you should watch this show.  It’s extremely touching and thrilling, and even though parts of it get confusing, and some episodes (especially in R2) seem random, you will love this show.  It’s in the absolute highest tier of anime, right up there with Fullmetal Alchemist.

Após o ocorrido, Suzaku, que é um “Inglês honorário” (Título concedido a alguns japoneses) é feito secretamente piloto de testes de um novo protótipo de Knightmares, Lancelot. Sinopsis:

2018 a.t.b. Ha pasado un año tras el fracaso de la Rebelión Negra encabezada por Zero, el Área 11 ha sido degradado por el Emperador de Britannia a la categoría de Área de Remediación. Esto ha resultado en la aplicación de sentencias más severas de parte del Imperio y el inicio de una profunda represión a los Caballeros Negros, arrestando a varios de sus miembros y cerrando sus operaciones.
