None, zero, zip, nada. Not a single member of the alphabet-media crew are reporting a single story about ”ClimateGate.” Maybe some of you haven’t heard of “CllimateGate” because nobody, except Fox News, is reporting it. ClimateGate is the results of a hacker, or whistle-blower, releasing hundreds of e-mails showing global warming scientist hiding, lying and deleting information that proves global warming/climate change is a myth. Liberal global-warming truthers are all enraged that their “cause” has been busted.

The reason MSNBC isn’t reporting “ClimateGate” is because their parent company, General Electric, will greatly benefit from Obama’s green economy wishes. If cap-and-trade is passed into law, GE will reap billions of dollars in contracts. It really does pay to be pals of Obama. Ask GE’s CEO Jeff Immelt who is also an economic adviser to Obama. See a pattern?

A few Republicans in the House and Senate have taken notice of “ClimateGate” and are calling for investigations. I guess Obama and the liberals didn’t hear about it, since they hate Fox News, and Obama wants to move forward with a climate deal.

And since, you know, Barabara Boxer is the Chairman and I’m the Ranking Member on Environment and Public Works, if nothing happens in the next seven days when we go back into session a week from today that would change this situation, I will call for an investigation.  ‘Cause this thing is serious, you think about the literally millions of dollars that have been thrown away on some of this stuff that they came out with.

Melanie Morgan: So what will you be calling for an investigation of?

Senator Inhofe: On the IPCC and on the United Nations on the way that they cooked the science to make this thing look as if the science was settled, when all the time of course we knew it was not. 

Jed Babbin: Should somebody stop further spending on this until we get this investigation, Senator?

Senator Inhofe: Well, I don’t know how you do that, though, ‘cause we’re not the ones that are calling the shots.  The interesting part of this is it’s happening right before Copenhagen.  And, so, the timing couldn’t be better. Whoever is on the ball in Great Britain, their time was good.

All this is being reported and yet Obama goes out and speaks about a climate bill.

US President Barack Obama said Tuesday the world has moved “one step closer” to a “strong operational agreement” on climate change at next month’s Copenhagen summit after his talks with Indian and Chinese leaders.

Hey Obama! Wake up and put your golf clubs down. The global warming/climate change hoax has been discovered. The gig is up and it’s time to stop beating the “Earth is dying due to man” routine.

The reason to why the other members of the alphabet-media are not reporting “ClimateGate” is simple. All of them are run by liberals and they never report real news. Plus, it goes against one of Obama’s pet project. Spreading the wealth.

It’s time for Obama, Al Gore, Barbara Boxer, John Kerry, Henry Waxman and every other liberal “global warming truther” to confess. Admit that global warming/climate change is a myth, hoax and total fraud.

The last post showed you a lot of cool things from General Electric’s smart grid website. If you happened to come across the augmented reality section: http://ge.ecomagination.com/smartgrid/?c_id=googaugreal&gclid=CK63k8PVpZ4CFQohDQodd2QOkQ#/augmented_reality, then you were in for a treat. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. GE uses a digital hologram to get users to interact with their website. You’ll have to go to the website and follow directions to see what I’m taking about.

If you don’t know the website, or you’re too lazy, check out this video. I suggest you try it yourself because it’s a pretty awesome experience.

General Electric has a great website dedicated to alternative energies, and specifically smart grid technologies. Check it out right here: http://ge.ecomagination.com/smartgrid/. It’s very exciting that such a big energy producer and company is focusing on alternative energy. Although it still may not be very profitable yet, we need large corporations to invest heavily in new technologies. This provides money and personel for researching of new technologies. Alternative energy research is also good for corporations in terms of PR.

The best part of GE’s site is the the visual elements. Cool animations and graphics are used to show what the new GE smart grid is capable of, and how it will affect energy usage overall. The several infographics used are not only visually apealling, but easy to understand too. By going through the website, you really start to see and understand the advantages of GE’s smart grid.

GE’s plan to implement a smart grid is one of the largest smart grid plans in the world. It appears as if GE sees a future in which the whole U.S. is on the same grid in order to maximize efficiency amongst the whole country. I’m sure they’re working close with President Obama’s energy team as he just signed off on a billion dollar plan to implement smart grids across the country.

Tốt nhất là nên nắm được cách thức đầu tư và an toàn nhất nên chọn các công ty đã có những thành công và tiếng tăm nhất định trên thị trường.

Nói thì rất dễ, nhưng để tìm ra được những dấu hiệu quan trọng giúp bạn nhận biết việc đầu tư của mình có chính xác và khôn ngoan hay không lại không đơn giản chút nào. Dưới đây là cách thức và các dấu hiệu giúp bạn nhận ra các cổ phiếu có giá trị trên thị trường.

Đầu tiên, bạn hãy lập ra một danh sách các công ty lớn, đã phát hành cổ phiếu ra thị trường. Sau đó bạn sẽ thường xuyên theo dõi sự lên xuống giá cổ phiếu đó trên thị trường.

Tuy nhiên, để xác định đâu là một công ty lớn, cổ phiếu của nó sẽ có giá trị trên thị trường, bạn cần phải căn cứ vào năm dấu hiệu phân biệt quan trọng sau đây:

1. Có thương hiệu nổi tiếng và uy tín trên thị trường

Trước hết, bạn hãy nghĩ đến các thương hiệu nổi tiếng trên thế giới mà chủ sở hữu của nó đã đầu tư vào sản xuất trong đất nước bạn, dưới dạng các công ty 100% vốn nước ngoài hay các công ty liên doanh. Ví dụ như General Electric, Microsoft, Apple, Marlboro…, đó là những thương hiệu được xếp hạng trong 40 thương hiệu nổi tiếng nhất trên thế giới, theo sự bình chọn và đánh giá của Tổ chức tư vấn thương hiệu Interbrand. Dấu hiệu này rất quan trọng, đảm bảo sự thành công trong kinh doanh của công ty này trên đất nước của bạn, và hiển nhiên cổ phiếu của họ chắc chắn sẽ có giá trị trên thị trường. Nếu bạn quyết định đầu tư vào cổ phiếu của những công ty này, mức độ rủi ro sẽ rất ít.

2. Kinh doanh những sản phẩm và dịch vụ có ý nghĩa

Bạn hãy tìm kiếm những công ty mà sản phẩm, dịch vụ của chúng thực sự là nhu cầu thiết yếu và là sở thích của người tiêu dùng. Các công ty dược phẩm: ví dụ  như hãng dược phẩm khổng lồ Novartis của Thụy Sĩ chẳng hạn, những sản phẩm do công ty này sản xuất ra như thuốc bổ Calcium và dầu nong… bán đắt như tôm tươi. Bất kể khách hàng là người lắm tiền nhiều của hay không dư dả lắm, họ đều sẵn sàng mua những sản phẩm như vậy.

Tại sao vậy? Bởi kinh tế ngày một tăng trưởng đã khuyến khích người dân có nhu cầu chăm sóc sức khỏe cao hơn. Đồng hành với sự thịnh vượng kinh tế là xu hướng ngồi làm việc tại chỗ trước màn hành vi tính nhiều hơn. Trẻ em cũng không thoát khỏi xu hướng này. Các nhân tố đó sẽ dẫn đến tình trạng béo phì, tăng huyết áp hay tiểu đường, khiến nhu cầu sử dụng thuốc gia tăng.

Bên cạnh đó, các hãng khác như Coca-Cola hay Yum!… cũng là chủ sở hữu những sản phẩm rất được người tiêu dùng ưa chuộng, và chắc chắn chúng sẽ còn được mua nhiều.

3. Thu nhập chắc chắn và đáng tin cậy, tăng trưởng trong bán hàng và lợi nhuận chính đáng

Tức là trước khi quyết định đầu tư vào cổ phiếu của một công ty, bạn nên xem xét ba vấn đề cơ bản của công ty là: thu nhập; lượng hàng bán ra trên thị trường và lợi nhuận.

- Về thu nhập, bạn có thể sử dụng một số chỉ tiêu sau để đánh giá sự chắc chắn và đáng tin cậy của công ty:

+ Chỉ số thu nhập trên một đơn vị cổ phiếu – EPS (Earning per Share): thu nhập dòng hay lợi nhuận sau thuế có thể được xem xét bằng tổng lợi nhuận hay xét trên một đơn vị cổ phiếu gọi là chỉ số EPS. Một công ty có sự gia tăng về tốc độ tăng trưởng thu nhập khi tốc độ tăng trưởng thu nhập của quý sau cao hơn quý trước. Một cổ phiếu tốt, có tốc độ gia tăng về tăng trưởng thu nhập cao hơn so với ba hay bốn quý trước. Tăng trưởng của chỉ số thu nhập ít nhất là 25% so với cùng quý của năm trước. EPS hàng năm của cổ phiếu tốt ít nhất phải tăng trưởng 25% so với ba năm trước.

Ví dụ: Tập đoàn Johnson & Johnson có thu nhập tăng trong 73 năm liên tiếp, có tốc độ tăng đột biến tiền lãi cổ phần (cổ tức) trong 44 năm liên tiếp, và công khai yết thị thu nhập kiếm được tăng trong 21 năm liên tiếp.Theo bạn, cổ phiếu của tập đoàn này có thực sự hấp dẫn không?

+ Chỉ số thị giá chia cho thu nhập của mỗi cổ phần – P/E là một trong những chỉ số phân tích quan trọng quyết định đầu tư chứng khoán của nhà đầu tư. Thu nhập từ cổ phiếu sẽ có ảnh hưởng quyết định đến giá thị trường của cổ phiếu đó. Hệ số P/E đo lường mốiquan hệ giữa giá thị trường (Market Price – PM) và thua nhập của mỗi cổ phiếu (EPS) và được tính như sau:

P/E= PM/EPS.

Thông thường, nhiều người cho rằng nên chọn mua những cổ phiếu có P/E thấp vì theo họ những cổ phiếu có chỉ số này cao là đắt và không nên mua. Nhưng trên thực tế, những cổ phiếu tốt nhất thường có chỉ số này rất cao.

Hệ số P/E rất có ích cho việc định giá cổ phiếu. Giả sử bạn đang muốn mua một cổ phiếu hiện tại chưa được giao dịch trên thị trường, nhưng chưa biết mua với giá bao nhiêu là hợp lý. Nếu bạn biết thu nhập của công ty này (EPS), bạn có thể lấy nó nhân với chỉ số P/E được công bố trên thị trường giao dịch chứng khoán của nhóm cổ phiếu tương tự như cổ phiếu này, bạn sẽ xác định được giá của cổ phiếu mà bạn muốn mua.

- Về sự tăng trưởng bán hàng: Đây là chỉ tiêu quan trọng nhất để đo lường một công ty có sức mạnh hay không và là nhân tố chính của tăng trưởng. Khi chọn lựa cổ phiếu tốt hãy tìm công ty có tốc độ bán hàng mạnh để làm tiền đề cho tăng trưởng thu nhập. Tiêu chí để xác định công ty có tăng trưởng bán hàng tốt nếu ba quý gần nhất có sự tăng lượng hàng bán lớn hơn hoặc bằng 25% so với quý gần nhất trước đó.

- Về lợi nhuận: có thể đánh giá trên hai chỉ tiêu:

+ Lợi nhuận ròng: đánh giá tỷ lệ chuyển doanh thu thành thu nhập. Trên quan điểm của nhà đầu tư, nên tìm những công ty có sự tăng về tỷ lệ lợi nhuận ròng/doanh thu. Con số này càng lớn thì có nghĩa công ty đang có xu hướng quản lý và các hoạt động khác tốt lên. Tiêu chí để xác định cho chỉ tiêu này là lợi nhuận trước thuế ít nhất đạt 18% doanh thu. Yêu cầu lợi nhuận sau thuế luôn đạt 10% trở lên.

+ Lợi nhuận trên vốn chủ sở hữu (ROE): Hệ số này phản ánh mức thu nhập ròng trên vốn cổ phần của cổ đông.

ROE= Lợi nhuận ròng/Vốn cổ đông hay giá trị tài sản ròng hữu hình.

Hệ số này thường được các nhà đầu tư phân tích để so sánh với các cổ phiếu khác nhau trên thị trường. Thông thường, hệ số thu nhập trên vốn cổ phần càng cao thì các cổ phiếu càng hấp dẫn, vì hệ số này cho thấy cách đánh giá khả năng sinh lời và các tỷ suất lợi nhuận của công ty khi đem so sánh với hệ số thu nhập trên vốn cổ phần của các công ty khác.

4. Chịu sự quản lý và điều hành bởi các nhà lãnh đạo tài ba

Đây là một trong những tiêu chuẩn và dấu hiệu khá quan trọng mà bạn nên tìm hiểu trước khi quyết định đầu tư. Nếu nhà lãnh đạo giỏi, công ty sẽ phát triển đúng hướng và sẽ là yếu tố đảm bảo sự thành công trong đầu tư vào cổ phiếu của bạn. Thậm chí, nếu chẳng may công ty rơi vào tình trạng gay go, trước bờ vực của sự phá sản, nhưng nếu được điều hành và dẫn dắt của một nhà lãnh đạo tài ba, rất có thể nó sẽ vượt qua được khó khăn, quay về đúng hướng.

Richard Parson – Giám đốc điều hành của Time Warner là một trong những nhà lãnh đạo tài giỏi như thế. Ông đã làm được một điều kỳ diệu: giá cổ phiếu của hãng gần như đã quay về mức trước khi rơi vào khủng hoảng, trước khi ông về nắm quyền. Sau cuộc sáp nhập khủng hoảng với AOL trong năm 2001, giá cổ phiếu Time Warner đã rớt tự do. Thế nhưng trong năm 2005, Parson đã dần kéo công việc kinh doanh của hãng truyền thông lớn nhất thế giới này trở về quỹ đạo cũ. Ông đã giải quyết dứt điểm từng vấn đề đau đầu của Time Warner , từ trả bớt nợ, bán bớt các bộ phận làm ăn không hiệu quả cho đến dàn xếp ổn thỏa các các cuộc điều tra liên bang và vụ kiện của các cổ đông.

Bạn có thể tìm hiểu thông tin có ích và ấn tượng về các nhà lãnh đạo giỏi, có uy tín trên các trang web giới thiệu về doanh nghiệp và doanh nhân. Ví dụ, trên trên web www.fool.com, có nhiều tin tức về những nhà lãnh đạo này trên chuyên mục “xác định sự quản lý có hiệu quả” (Identifying effective management) hay “Điều tra về đầu tư” (Investigative Investing).

5. Có lợi thế cạnh tranh nhất định

Trở lại ví dụ của hãng Time Warner và AOL sau khi sáp nhập. Mặc dù trong thời gian đầu, AOL gặp rất nhiều khó khăn, song họ vẫn giữ được nhiều khách hàng trung thành. Tại sao nhiều khách hàng vẫn trung thành với họ? Bất cứ một nhà cung cấp dịch vụ trực tuyến nào cũng muốn cung cấp cho người sử dụng một địa chỉ e-mail miễn phí và lôi kéo khách hàng sử dụng địa chỉ email của mình, chứ không phải của các đối thủ cạnh tranh. Và khi một ai đó đã sử dụng địa chỉ email do hãng của bạn cung cấp, chắc chắn họ sẽ không dễ dàng từ bỏ địa chỉ e-mail của bạn để sử dụng địa chỉ e-mail của một nhà cung cấp khác. Đơn giản là họ sẽ gặp nhiều rắc rối và đau đầu vì thông báo địa chỉ e-mail mới cũng như mất thời gian cập nhật và nhận thư từ từ nhiều địa chỉ e-mail.

Tương tự như vậy, hãng dịch vụ cho thuê phim Netflix của Mỹ là một trong những hãng có tên tuổi và tiên phong trong lĩnh vực cho thuê DVD và bán phim trên mạng internet. Khách hàng có thể thâm nhập vào danh mục các bộ phim mà họ muốn xem và khó có thể từ chối những dịch vụ mà họ cung cấp.

Đó chính là những công ty có một lợi thế cạnh tranh nhất định trên thị trường, mà khi quyết định đầu tư cổ phiếu, bạn có thể xem xét đến chúng.

Sau khi bạn đã xác định được đâu là một công ty mạnh, có triển vọng trên thị trường, bạn quyết định tìm kiếm và mua cổ phiếu của nó với bất cứ giá nào? Đừng làm như vậy. Các công ty chất lượng cao, giá cổ phiếu của họ thường ở mức trung bình. Nếu bạn trả giá cho cổ phiếu của họ quá cao, rất có thể sẽ làm ảnh hưởng đến hoạt động kinh doanh và tổn hại đến thu nhập của họ. Vì vậy, nếu bạn là một người kiên nhẫn, bạn nên chờ đợi thời cơ. Ví dụ: một hãng kinh doanh rất thành công, nhưng gần đây họ bán cổ phiếu với một giá hoàn toàn không quá cao như nhiều người nghĩ. Đó chính là hãng Coca-Cola. Chỉ số P/E của hãng này chỉ xấp xỉ xung quanh 22, thấp hơn mức trung bình trong lịch sử của hãng này.

“Một công ty lớn có giá cổ phiếu không quá cao”, đó chính là một công thức kiếm được nhiều tiền trong đầu tư chứng khoán trong nhiều thập kỷ nay. Bạn nên suy nghĩ về điều này trước khi quyết định mua cổ phiếu của một công ty nào đó.

Mua cao – Bán thấp

Trong khi có thể dành cả ngày vùi đầu nghiên cứu một danh sách dài các lời khuyên đầu tư hữu ích và thông minh, bạn hãy nghĩ đến những lời khuyên tuyệt vời dài không quá 4 chữ cho dù nó vẫn hiện hữu không ít nhược điểm. Dưới đây là một vài trong số đó:
Mua sự nổi tiếng – “Buy what you know”

Đây có lẽ là lời khuyên đầu tư gồm 4 chữ nổi tiếng, bắt nguồn từ những phân tích của rất nhiều nhà đầu tư chứng khoán gạo cội tại Wall Street – những người vẫn đứng vững sau cơn bão dot.com trên thị trường chứng khoán hồi những năm cuối thế kỷ trước. Và trong một bài viết vài năm trước đây trên tờ Wall Street Journal, nhà đầu tư nổi tiếng Jeff Fischer viết về lời khuyên này như sau:

Sẽ thật hợp lý với việc mua cổ phiếu của những thương hiệu bạn biết, những công ty sản xuất các sản phẩm bạn thích, và những cái tên bạn thường xuyên nghe thấy trong cuộc sống thường nhật.

Khi cổ phiếu của những công ty vốn lớn tăng trưởng, chiến lược này là hòan tòan hợp lý. “Nếu chỉ mua cổ phiếu IBM, General Electric và Hershey, tôi có thể nhân đôi số tiền của mình cứ mỗi ba năm!”. Đương nhiên, chiến lược đầu tư này đỏi hỏi ở bạn sự kiên nhẫn và sẽ khó tạo ra các khoản lợi nhuận kếch xù đột xuất, đặc biệt khi bạn mua cổ phiếu của các công ty nổi tiêng trong thời điểm nó đảm chạm tới đỉnh cao tăng trưởng theo chu kỳ 7 năm.

“Mua sự nổi tiếng” là lời khuyên một chiều vì ba lý do. Thứ nhất, những gì bạn biết có thể không đáng giá để đầu tư vào. Thứ hai, thực tế mua những cổ phiếu bạn biết không phải lúc nào cũng đồng nghĩa với những cổ phiếu tốt có lưu lượng tiền mặt ổn định, tình hình tài chính lành mạnh. Nó thường đơn giản được xem như việc “mua một nhãn hiệu nổi tiếng”. Nếu tình cờ bạn biết và yêu Kmart, nhưng bạn không tìm hiểu về tình hình tài chính của tập đoàn, bạn sẽ là một nhà đầu tư theo cảm tính với khá nhiều rủi ro phải đối mặt trong tương lai. Thứ ba, lời khuyên “mua sự nổi tiếng” thường không đi đối với lời khuyên “cẩn trọng đánh giá mọi mặt”. Nó dường như là “mua những gì bạn biết – tại bất cứ giá nào”.

“Mua những gì bạn biết” có thể giúp các nhà đầu tư mới làm quen và cảm thấy thoải mái hơn với thị trường chứng khoán, nhưng nó sẽ không dễ dàng giúp bạn tậu về các cổ phiếu tốt nếu bạn không tiến hành đánh giá, phân tích kỹ lưỡng.

Rất nhiều người đã mua cổ phiếu Krispy Kreme (mã chứng khoán tại NYSE: KKD) bởi vì họ biết nó, và đây là thảm hoạ. Rất nhiều người mua cổ phiếu Harley-Davidson (mã chứng khoán tại NYSE: HOG) bởi vì họ biết nó và thực chất nó đang hoạt động tốt. Đây mới chính là lựa chọn đúng đắn.

Mua thấp, bán cao – “Buy low, sell high”

Chắc chắn đây là lời khuyên đầu tư ngắn gọn và nổi tiếng nhất trong lịch sử thị trường chứng khoán. Jeff Fischer nhớ lại hồi ông mới tốt nghiệp đại học và buổi đầu tiên đến làm việc tại một công ty đầu tư chứng khoán. Vị giám đốc ở đây đã rất bực tức khi nhìn thấy trên lưng Jeff là cả một balô chứa đầy các lọai sách về chứng khoán. Ông ta yêu cầu Jeff vứt hết đống sách đó đi và trong vòng 1 tuần đầu tiên chỉ làm một công việc duy nhất đó là chép ra giấy cho đủ 10.000 từ “Buy low, sell high”.

Trên lý thuyết, nếu thành công với việc mua thấp và bán cao, bạn đã thu được lợi nhuận. Bất cứ giao dịch mua cổ phiếu nào cũng có một mong đợi – hay ít nhất một hy vọng – rằng bạn sẽ bán được ở một mức giá cao hơn mức giá bạn đã mua vào. Nhưng do bản thân lời khuyên này không đưa ra những hướng dẫn về việc thế nào là “thấp”, thế nào là “cao”, nên nó không thể được sử dụng mà không có những yếu tố bổ sung khác.

Bạn hãy mua những cổ phiếu có chỉ số P/E thấp, hay ở mức thấp nhất trong vòng 52 tuần qua, hay trong thời gian thị trường suy thoái, hay bất cứ phân tích kỹ thuật nào giải thích rõ ràng rằng cố phiếu đó đang có mức giá thấp hơn giá trị thực.

Việc bán cao chưa hẳn đã là một lời khuyên bổ ích. Như tác giả nổi tiếng về chứng khoán Philip Fisher đã từng tuyên bố và được sự đồng tình từ “cây đại thụ” Warren Buffett, nếu nghiên cứu một cách chính xác nhất, thời điểm tốt nhất để bán cổ phiếu hầu như chẳng bao giờ cả.

Chúng ta có thể kể vô khối các câu chuyện về một nhà đầu tư nào đó bán cổ phiếu để thu lời lớn khi giá đã ở mức cao, nhưng anh ta dường như vẫn bỏ lỡ hàng trăm thậm chí là hàng nghìn USD lợi nhuận khác có thể có nếu tiếp tục giữ nó lâu dài hơn.

Mua quỹ chỉ số – “Buy an index fund”

Index fund (IF) là một loại quĩ tương hỗ chỉ chuyên tìm mua các cổ phiếu của các công ty trong danh sách có chỉ số hóa lớn như S&P 500,…. Chỉ số S&P 500 cũng giống như chỉ số VN-Index vậy, chỉ có điều nó chọn ra 500 công ty lớn nhất đang niêm yết trên thị trường Mỹ (ở Mỹ có hàng ngàn công ty niêm yết), trong khi VN-Index bao gồm tất cả các công ty niêm yết trên thị trường TPHCM (khoảng trên 100 công ty).

Như bao nhiêu quỹ đầu tư khác, các IF cũng thu phí từ nhà đầu tư. Nhưng bởi vì công việc của họ rất đơn giản cho nên phí của họ chỉ bằng 1/20 (hoặc ít hơn) phí của những quỹ đầu tư khác. Người ta còn gọi các IF là các quỹ bị động, bởi vì công việc quản lý quỹ của họ là theo dõi chỉ số S&P 500 và bảo đảm các công ty mà quỹ nắm giữ cổ phiếu cũng giống như y hệt như danh sách các công ty trong S&P 500.

Trong suốt hàng chục năm qua, chỉ số S&P 500 tăng trung bình 11%/năm, nên các IF cũng đều có mức lợi nhuận như vậy, mặc dù hơi thấp hơn 11% một chút do phải trừ đi phí.

Đây có thể được xem như lời khuyên đầu tư an toàn và có sự tính toán kỹ lưỡng nhất. Nếu bạn có ít thời gian để theo dõi các cổ phiếu, chiến lược đầu tư này là thích hợp nhất. Nhược điểm duy nhất của nó là đem lại khoản lợi nhuận không cao và khá dài hạn. Ngoài ra, bạn phải dành nhiều thời gian để tìm ra những Quỹ thích hợp nhất.

Nói tóm lại, cho dù những lời khuyên đầu tư có tuyệt vời và ngắn gọn đến đâu, để thành công khi đầu tư chứng khoán trên thị trường, đòi hỏi các nhà đầu tư không chỉ có kiến thức về chứng khoán và thị trường chứng khoán mà còn phải thường xuyên quan tâm, theo dõi, bám sát thực trạng, phân tích xu hướng phát triển của cổ phiếu.

Có thể hơi dài dòng nhưng lời khuyên đầu tư tốt nhất vẫn là mọi nhà đầu tư cần tiến hành khảo sát thực tiễn, thu thập thông tin, tài liệu để tiến hành phân tích từng chứng khoán cụ thể, lập và quản lý danh mục đầu tư… nhằm hạn chế rủi ro, nâng cao hiệu quả vốn đầu tư.

Continuing with a look at the water side of the CleanTech sectors,  Zenon Environmental is a good example of start up to acquisition by a major OEM. Their superior technology and process for water purification, coupled with an overwhelming client project list made them an acquisition target for GE Water in 2006.

Strategy: Developing a more efficient, economic and sustainable water purification process.

Product: Zenon’s core product is a hollow fibre membrane that requires less energy to operate than conventional membranes and can be used in relatively small footprint areas on various types of water and wastewater plants. Zenon is a technology leader in the filtration sector, and has stayed ahead by narrowly focusing its capital on membrane technology.

“If you can optimize the membrane filtration process to reduce membrane fouling, then you can save a big chunk of money” said Lakehead University chemical engineering professor Baoqiang Liao who initiated a planned project for Thunder Bay, Canada’s water treatment facility. “Estimates in a report to city council put the savings in cleaning chemicals alone due to the new membrane plant at $24,000 a year. In addition, the city stands to save about $10,000 in energy costs, and about $47,000 in membrane costs.” Thunder Bay is considered a smaller facility, so the numbers improve obviously for larger municipalities.

Management: Ultimately owned and managed by GE Water, Andrew Benedek is the CEO and founder of Zenon.

Comment: Nov. 13^th a scandal emerged of an employee stealing $1MM through false invoices over a ten year period from Zenon.

The company was founded in 1980 by former McMaster University chemists professor Andrew Benedek. Benedek developed innovative technology to filter water using hollow-fibre membranes.

The company grew from its modest start to 1,400 employees with plants in Burlington, Oakville and Hungary and filtration contracts worldwide. In March 2006 General Electric agreed to acquire Zenon for approximately $760MM dollars.

If one believes in the future of the water sector, it’s important to identify and understand companies like Zenon before they are acquired.

I told you that NBC Universal (GE) is decorating its “Green is Universal” eco-campaign this week with a strange but cool art project inside 30 Rock. An environmental muralist named Tom Deininger spent all afternoon yesterday inside Studio 8H–the home of Saturday Night Live–with 300-plus inner-city school kids and NBC staffers building a massive wall relief completely out of trash.

That’s right. 100% garbage. Used cue cards from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Old cassette tapes from NBC Sports. Junked CDs and DVDs.

I told you I’d share what these oddball artists created–and here you go.

The mega-mural is based on a photo called Aspen Groves by the late,  great Ansel Adams. NBCU hasn’t decided where they’ll put the mural on public display. But it’ll likely be a public school or community space somewhere in New York City. Any takers?

ShopNBC apparently has something cooking with the cable network Bravo, but we couldn’t find out many details Wednesday.

During a third-quarter conference call ShopNBC CEO Keith Stewart said that the network is looking to partner with Bravo to sell some of Bravo’s “content” also have a presence on the channel.

“I can’t speak for NBC, but I do talk to them quite frequently, and we are in active conversations to work with some of their properties, like Bravo,” Stewart said. “To the extent that we can sell some of the Bravo content and also be on some of their channels, that will be a cost-effective way to do it.”

Bravo is a unit of NBC Universal, which is expected to be purchased by cable giant Comcast. NBC has a minority stake in ShopNBC.

A raft of the stars of Bravo’s many reality TV stars have lines on home shopping networks. Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe of “The Rachel Zoe Project” sells clothes and accessories on QVC, and Heidi Klum of Bravo’s former hit, now Lifetime’s “Project Runway,” had a jewelry line on QVC until a suit agains her by Van Cleef & Arpel put the kibosh on that.

Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, of Bravo’s “The Fashion Show,” is doing a line of apparel, accessories and home goods that will debut next month on QVC.

On HSN, Ramona Singer of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York City” has a fine jewelry line, while Padman Lakshmi of Bravo’s “Top Chef” is hawking teas and herbs.

On the conference call, Stewart only made one more comment about the potential Bravo arrangement, and ShopNBC wasn’t “adding any color,” as Wall Street analysts say, after the call.

“Now all that said, NBC is a stand-alone unit and they need to make money,” Stewart said. “And we unquestionably need to make money. So to the extent it compromises our margins to you, it would not be a good business decision. But to the extent it does work for both of us, we’ll launch some of the content that NBC will offer.”

General Electric and NBC currently own about 32.5 percent of ShopNBC on a fully diluted basis of 37.6 million shares. NBC’s 6.4 million shares represent 16.8 percent ownership and GE’s 6 million common stock purchase warrants represent 15.7 percent.

“You have to call GE and ask them,” ShopNBC CEO Keith Stewart said Wednesday. “It’s difficult to speculate what GE is going to do.”

During a third-quarter conference call, ShopNBC was asked twice about the expected Comcast-NBCU deal and its potential impact on the network, and Stewart danced around it.

GE/NBC currently owns about 32.5 percent of ShopNBC on a fully diluted basis of 37.6 million shares. NBC’s 6.4 million shares represent 16.8 percent ownership and GE’s 6 million common stock purchase warrants represent 15.7 percent.

First, one investor said he was concerned that if GE was looking to get out of the media business, why would it keep its stake in ShopNBC.

“As for changing the landscape, I really don’t see much of a change in the landscape,” Stewart said. “They are a minority holder, albeit around 30 percent.”

That same caller expressed concern that ShopNBC would lose leverage in negotiating carriage deals if it no longer had NBCU
as a shareholder.

“I really couldn’t possibly say that impacts us negatively or positively,” Stewart said. “We have a very good relationship with Comcast as it is, and what we pay them for distribution, last time I checked they still need a revenue stream.”

A second investor later noted that GE and NBCU have three seats on ShopNBC’s board, and what would be GE’s incentive to keep its stock.

“I don’t know really how to answer that question,” Stewart said, adding that he looks at GE and NBCU as passive investors.

Chief financial officer Frank Elsenbast chimed in, “In the event there was an NBC transaction with Comcast, we still would have a very significant investor in GE owning 13 percent of the company.”

While the top execs at NBC Universal (GE) are consumed with closing their deal to merge into Comcast (CMCSA), they’ve found a little time to do some good for the planet. You can’t miss this week’s “Green is Universal” campaign if you watch CNBC (featuring Green Stocks to Watch) or the Tonight Show (Jay Leno races eco-friendly cars in the Ford (F) Green Car Challenge) or Top Chef, where the focus tonight is on organic and sustainable ingredients.

On Law & Order: SVU, they even make a big deal of switching to energy-efficient light bulbs. I’m not kidding.

While this eco-effort on screen gets pretty silly, there’s a cool thing happening today inside NBCU–at Studio 8H, the home of Saturday Night Live. An environmental artist named Tom Deininger and a bunch of New York City middle-school students are building a massive mural out of trash that’s re-purposed, recycled, or reclaimed from all around the company.

Measuring 8×36 feet, this is bona-fide TV trash: cue cards from Saturday Night Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, thousands of discarded CDs and DVDs, hundreds of NBC Sports tape cassettes.

I know about Deininger because he built one of his eco-murals out of 100% trash at Brainstorm Green, Fortune’s confab last April. (Lonnie Lardner, a onetime TV news reporter whose Los Angeles-based firm Creative Voltage brought Deininger to Brainstorm Green, also works on art installations for the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit.) Verdens største selskap, General Electric, vurderer å legge sin offshore vindsatsing til Trøndelag. Verdal er aktuell for vindturbinproduksjon og Trondheim er aktuell for forskning og utvikling. Flere hundre høykompetente og arbeidsplasser med store vekstmuligheter kan bli resultatet. Som seg hør og bør har næringsminister Trond Giske engasjert seg i saken. Skal vi tro media står han nærmest på reisefot til USA for å overbevise ledelsen i GE om Norges fortrinn.

GE’s investeringsbeslutning vil avhenge av rammebetingelsene. Vil norske myndigheter støtte et demonstrasjonsanlegg? Trond Giske kan klokelig nok ikke love noe på vegne av Enova, SIVA, Innovasjon Norge og andre som kan bidra med penger. Det er styrene i disse virksomhetene som skal treffe slike beslutninger. Men de synes å være positive. I tillegg kan Giske skryte av det sterke kunnskapsmiljøet i Norge. NTNU, Sintef og andre i Trondheim har mye kunnskap og kan levere kompetenrt arbeidskraft. Offshoremiljøet i Verdal med Aker i spissen er også viktig. Og så er tross alt den første brikken i GE’s norske vindkraftsatsing, i form av selskapet Scanwind AS, allerede på plass på Moholt i Trondheim. Det meste skulle derfor ligge til rette for et vindkrafteventyr.

Men når et internasjonalt storselskap skal bestemme seg for en etter norsk målestokk gigantisk industriell satsing er de også avhengige av forutsigbarhet. De må vite at rammebetingelsene ikke bare er der i dag, men også i overskuelig fremtid: Støtteordninger, skatter og avgifter, grønne sertifikater, satsing på energiforskning osv. er viktige elementer. Kan GE rett og slett stole på at det ikke skjer dramatiske endringer som river vekk grunnlaget under den virksomheten de satser langsiktig på?

Det er da de kanskje vil se seg rundt og sjekke hva norske myndigheter gjør på andre områder. Kanskje lurer de på om det som skjer med avgiften på biodiesel også kan skje med rammebetingelsene for vindkraftsatsing?

Så sent som i sommer var miljøvernminister Erik Solheim tilstede ved åpningen av en biodieselfabrikk som han skrøt uhemmet av. Nå innfører hans egen regjering etter forslag fra hans egen partileder Kristin Halvorsen en avgift på biodiesel. Den nyåpnede biodieselfabrikken permitterer sine ansatten og Norske Skog legger sine planer om en stor ny biodieselfabrikk basert på trevirke på is. Den nye avgiften kan svekke lønnsomheten ved slike fabrikker så mye at de vil gå med underskudd. Da vil ingen satse. Se bare på hva som skjedde i Tyskland da tyske myndigheter innførte en tilsvarende avgift i 2006.

Dermed blir spørsmålet General Electric vil stille seg: Kan vi stole på Trond Giske?

Bloomberg recently reported a story that highlighted the recommendations of the U.S. Preventive Service Task Force on yearly mammograms for women aged 40 and above. According to the story, the guidelines released by the task force suggested that annual mammograms for most women in their 40s have more drawbacks than benefits and therefore, women should wait until age 50 to start getting breast cancer screening tests every two years.

Annual mammograms for most women in their 40s have more drawbacks than benefits, said a panel of U.S. doctors that recommended women wait until age 50 to start getting breast cancer screening tests every two years.

The change in guidelines released by the U.S. Preventive Service Task Force, a government-backed physician group, said women in their 40s are more likely to get false-positive tests that can lead to unnecessary biopsies and anxiety. The recommendations, which also said that self-examinations were unnecessary, don’t apply to women who carry a high risk for breast cancer. Those women should talk to their doctors about when to get screening, the panel said.

The new guidelines, published yesterday in the Annals of Internal Medicine, pit the task force against the American Cancer Society, which insisted doctors should still advise women to undergo routine annual screening starting at age 40. About 64 percent of women ages 40 to 49 had an X-ray of their breasts during the past two years, the panel’s report said.

“This is not a blanket recommendation not to worry until age 50,” said Diana Petitti, a disease epidemiologist at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, and vice chair of the panel. “It’s a recommendation to have a discussion with your physician to better understand the trade-offs between starting exams now and starting later.”

Imaging machines for mammograms, and related supplies, are marketed by Fairfield, Connecticut-based General Electric Co., Bedford, Massachusetts-based Hologic Inc. and Munich-based Siemens AG.

Insurer Coverage

J. Leonard Lichtenfeld, the American Cancer Society’s deputy chief medical officer, said the panel’s guidelines may affect insurance payouts. ‘Our hope is that insurers will not make any change in coverage,” Lichtenfeld said.

WellPoint Inc., the top U.S. health insurer by enrollment with 34 million members, pays for annual mammograms for women age 40 in the majority of its health plans. The Indianapolis- based company periodically reviews its reimbursement policies and “doesn’t adhere to any one source” for guidance, said Jill Becher, a company spokeswoman in Milwaukee.

The new guidelines, if widely adopted by physicians and insurers, could reduce the number of U.S. mammogram screenings by 58 percent, from the current 37.2 million annually to 15.6 million under a “worst-case scenario,” Junaid Husain, a Boston-based analyst at Soleil Securities, wrote in a note to investors today.

Detecting Cancer

Mammograms, self-breast examinations, and doctor’s exams are the three main forms of detecting breast cancer. The task force said there was no evidence that self-exams reduce breast- cancer deaths, and insufficient information exists to recommend that doctors do routine physical exams.

The mammograms are used to check for breast cancer in women who have no signs or symptoms of the disease, and also to check for breast cancer after a lump or other signs of cancer have been found, according to the National Cancer Institute.

Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths among U.S. women, after lung cancer, killing 40,480 women in 2008, according to the task force report.

The task force analyzed published research and developed computer-simulation models to evaluate the likely health outcomes if mammograms were begun at certain ages and done every one or two years.

Deaths, False Positive Tests

The study confirmed earlier research that women who have mammograms die less frequently of breast cancer than those who don’t have the tests. About two deaths per 1,000 women are averted if women begin annual screenings rather than exams every two years starting at age 40, the task force estimated.

It also estimated that women who begin getting mammograms at 40 will have about 60 percent more false positive results per 1,000 exams than women who start screenings at age 50. A false positive, in which an abnormality is seen that proves not to be cancer, typically leads to additional screenings and tissue biopsies, the panel’s researchers said.

The cancer society challenged the reliability of the task force study’s methods.

“We are reluctant to recommend changing a proven program that has helped to save lives,” Lichtenfeld said. The society questions whether the task’s force computer modeling “is sufficiently sophisticated and accurate enough,” he said.

High-Risk Women

The recommendations aren’t intended for women older than 40 who have a higher risk for breast cancer. Increased risk can come from having a gene mutation linked to breast cancer or having been exposed often to chest radiation, which can raise the probability of breast cancer.

The task force said it didn’t make recommendations for these higher-risk groups because it lacked sufficient data to know the benefits of more frequent screening tests.

Women’s health groups varied in their responses to the new guidelines.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Dallas-based breast cancer advocacy group, said it won’t change its recommendation that women ages 40 to 49 get annual mammograms. “We would not want to see a change in policy or reimbursement for screening mammography at this time,” said Eric Winer, the group’s chief scientific adviser, in a statement.

The task force’s recommendations were applauded by the National Breast Cancer Coalition, a Washington-based advocacy group, which said the guidelines support its position.

‘Deserve the Truth’

“Women deserve the truth even when it is complicated,” said Fran Visco, the coalition’s president, in a statement. “They can accept it.”

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists rejected the task force’s recommendations, maintaining its guidelines that women in their 40s be screened every one to two years and women age 50 and older get annual exams, according to a statement issued by the group on Monday.

Researchers and physicians know that results from the X- rays aren’t as reliable in younger women as in older women. Women in their 40s typically have denser breast tissue, making it more difficult for technicians to determine if an image is normal or cancerous.

After women enter menopause, typically about age 50, the breast tissue becomes less dense and more fat, and the X-rays can be more accurately interpreted, said Susan Love, president and medical director of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation in Santa Monica, California.

‘Long Overdue’

The panel’s suggestions for women ages 40 to 49 are “long overdue,” said Love in a telephone interview. “Most countries in the world do not do mammography screening until age 50.”

“There is a lot of anxiety created when someone tells you that there is something that showed up in a test,” said Karla Kerlikowske, an epidemiologist at the University of California, San Francisco, Medical Center who wrote an editorial accompanying the task force report.

Subsequent exams expose women to more radiation, and although biopsies are “low risk,” some patients develop infections or experience pain and bruises, she said.

Screening women ages 50 to 74 every two years “achieves most of the benefit of annual screening with less harm,” the task force said. Now women in the older age group get a mammogram, on average, every 14 months, according to the report.

In forming its guidelines, the task force’s “biggest concern” was that women would be confused by conflicting advice from health experts or wrongly interpret the panel’s message as a blanket recommendation for those ages 40 to 49 to forego screening until they turn 50, Petitti said.

Risks, Preferences

Instead, decisions by women younger than 50 and their doctors should be based on “the risk for breast cancer and preferences about the benefits and harms” the task force wrote in the study.

Although the recommendations are “very clear and thoughtful,” women are likely to be confused by the different advice of health experts, Kerlikowske said.

It may be difficult to persuade many women in their 40s who have been told by their doctors for years that annual screenings are beneficial to accept the panel’s recommendations, said the cancer society’s Lichtenfeld.

“The task force is saying you can get 70 percent of the benefit if you get a mammogram every two years compared with every year,” Lichtenfeld said. “There will be women who say, ‘I want 100 percent of the benefit.’”

General Electric (s GE) started churning out plans earlier this year for cleaner heavy-haul locomotive technology, announcing its intention in May to produce batteries for hybrid trains in upstate New York and unveiling a new, more fuel-efficient locomotive model. This morning, the conglomerate has announced a set of agreements with various companies and the government of China that will help GE ramp up its locomotive business in the country — and potentially lead to a larger role for both GE and China on the road to a high-speed rail buildout in the United States.

GE has announced two deals related to rail this morning, including an agreement with China’s Ministry of Railways to advance partnerships that would allow the company to pursue high-speed rail projects in the U.S. with manufacturing provided by a Chinese partner (GE doesn’t currently manufacture locomotives for these types of projects). And it’s formed a joint venture with CSR Qishuyan to develop, build and service GE’s most fuel-efficient line of diesel locomotive engines, the Evolution Series, in China and eventually other countries as well.

Beyond rail, GE announced it has formed a joint venture with Shenhua Group Corp. to research and develop lower-cost “cleaner coal” technologies. The U.S. Trade Development Agency will finance the “initial steps” toward a coal power plant in China using GE’s “integrated gasification combined cycle,” or IGCC, technology.

GE already has a significant presence in China, running 36 wholly owned or joint venture companies and employing more than 13,000 people. But as the Wall Street Journal’s China Real Time Report notes, GE’s latest deals (including yet another joint venture, this one to produce software systems for airplanes, with the state-owned Aviation Industry Corp.), reflect a larger trend:

“Whether it’s autos or high-speed train locomotives, China’s markets are the only ones in the world still growing strongly. That puts China’s industrial state planners…in the driving seat as they negotiate with companies from the U.S., Germany and Japan who come knocking at the door. The trade is market access for technology.”

GE’s announcements coincide with President Obama’s visit to China this week and a set of agreements between the two countries on energy and transportation. This morning, President Obama and Chinese President Hu Jintao announced plans to cooperate on electric vehicle standards and demo projects, cleaner coal technology development, renewable energy planning and other projects.

De manera parecida a cómo actúan los tejidos que transpiran sin dejar transpasar la humedad, estos materiales pueden ser de gran utilidad en aerogeneradores, turbinas de aeronaves, etc. que mantienen un claro contacto con agua y/ó se emplean en zonas áltamente húmedas y a baja temperatura, formando hielo en dichas superficies.

En una pala de un aerogenerador que trabaja a una altura media de 60 m desde la base, una capa de hielo puede provocar un aumento de la componente aerodinámica de arrastre, reduciendo así la eficiencia de la máquina. En el caso de las turbinas de aviones que vuelan a 10.000 m, la ingeniería ha conseguido dar soluciones a este problema pero todas pasan por reducir la eficiencia del motor. Pero, ¿y si pudiéramos instalar estas nano-capas en dichos elementos, repeliendo así el agua y por tanto la formación del hielo? Si, de esta manera, consiguiéramos eliminar los complejos sistemas para eliminación intensiva de hielo, daríamos con un gran aumento en la eficiencia global de estos equipos.

Este equipo de investigadores ha recreado las condiciones atmosféricas típicas en las que se da el crecimiento de sucesivas capas de hielo, y así probar lo que ellos llaman “superhydrophobic materials”. Han creado un programa de ensayos en túneles de viento que les permita experimentar los diversos comportamientos de estos materiales. Además, han conseguido reunir un gran número de ambientes y exposiciones tales como erosión por arena a alta velocidad de transporte, alta exposición UV, etc. para poder comprobar que estos materiales son suficiéntemente robustos para el “mundo real”. Con todas estas herramientas y un equipo humano formado por químicos, ingenieros de materiales, ingenieros mecánicos y aeroespaciales, han conseguido un sustancial progreso a estas nuevas capas que no solo poseen una reducida resistencia de adhesión de las capas de hielo formado, si no que resisten también las inclemencias del ambiente en servicio.

En el video que se puede ver en su página, enfrentan dos muestras en un tunel de viento con crecimiento de hielo. El especimen de la izquierda esta fabricado en titanio y el de la derecha, en aleación de aluminio con una fina capa superficial de uno de los materiales investigados.  Al comienzo del video, se puede observar cómo se va formando una capa creciente de hielo en ambos perfiles tras sucesivas rachas de aire. Mientras el espesor va aumentando, los especímenes rotan a la vez que el flujo sigue impactando sobre ellos. Al final, la muestra protegida  se desprende fácilmente del hielo formado.

En este ejemplo, la fuerza que provoca el desprendimiento de la capa helada es de tipo convectivo (aire circulante), pero la principal baza es que no ha sido necesario ningún otro tipo de aporte energético suministrado por algún sistema auxiliar (calor, etc…). Mientras los resultados hablan ya de grandes posibilidades para estos nano-materiales, éste equipo de investigadores siguen trabajando para encontrarle aplicación a estos productos, basándose en principios similares.

My dad graduated in 1975, and decided to go to Hudson Valley Community College. After a few weeks of classes he realized that college was not for him. He worked out jobs until he was hired at General Electric as a full time employee. He would be the second generation working for GE as my grandpa worked there also. He was hired in 1978 making $7.80 an hour. He worked in a building called the “dough mixers” . They used to mix hundreds of chemicals together and they would mix them until they got to be the consistency of a pizza dough. After they did that they drove the chemicals across the street to another part of the plant where they would flatten the “dough” and package it. He thinks that must of the chemical substance was shipped to automobile dealerships for use on car parts.

1978 also served as the year that Mechanicville held a local competition called the “River Raft Race”. Essentially if  your contraption looked like it would float then it could be entered in the white water competition. My dad said it was pretty much a joke from the start because the river is more like a little crick that runs through town. Him and his friends entered a refrigerator into the race, they took of the door and all the shelves and thought that bad boy was going to fly down the river. My dad said three of them sat in the fridge and got a few hundred yards and the thing sank. So then they were not only embarrassed but had to pull a fridge out of the crick and take it back home. My dad said it was not his most brilliant idea, but it was good for a few laughs.

Olbermann Cruelly Mocks Lou Dobbs As Legendary Anchor Quits CNN

MSNBC host’s embarrassing display embodies all that is wrong with corporate news today

MSNBC host Keith Olbermann named Lou Dobbs as one of the worst people in the world as the anchor of some 30 years suddenly resigned from CNN last night amid controversy.

“The bronze to Lou Dobbs, who tonight, as of tonight, has just quit his CNN show,” Olbermann said during his “worst person in the world segment”.

As Olbermann read out Dobb’s resignation statement, he put on an contemptuous impression and couldn’t resist mocking Dobbs further by adding joke sentences.

“‘I’m the last of the original anchors here on CNN and I’m proud to have had the privilege of helping to build the world’s first news network.’ And then I discovered America,” Olbermann said.

“The rumor around here is they’re going to do two hours of their 8 o’clock show and as to Dobbs, I hear he’s going to Telemundo.” Olbermann added with a sardonic grin.

While he is fully entitled to disagree with Dobbs’ politics, it was embarrassing to watch such an undignified display on behalf of Olbermann directed toward a career professional who is highly respected by a great deal of Americans.

Someone should remind Olbermann that he is presenting MSNBC’s flagship nightly news programming because he seems to think he has become a poor man’s John Stewart from Comedy Central’s Daily Show.

Olbermann models himself on another legendary news anchor, Edward R. Murrow , even emulating his famous “Good night and good luck” motto at the end of every program.

However, it is hard to imagine for one second that Murrow would ever have resorted to such a base level of sinpery and spitefulness, in turn reducing the programming to pure political backbiting.

The Huffington Post reports the Comcast-NBC merger could give one company way too much market power and control over the content America receives via the news media. And because of judicial precedent, the Federal Communications Commission can’t do a damn thing to stop this!

Thanks to data on Columbia Journalism Review, this merger, if actualized, could put one company in control of, for example, 49 television channels!

(Let me explain: General Electric owns NBC. If Comcast merges with NBC, 49 NBC TV channels go in some part to Comcast.)

Like General Electric needs more money.
