<p>A montadora americana GM (General Motors) quer apresentar os planos para a sua subsidiária Opel em meados de dezembro, informou hoje o executivo-chefe da GM Europa, Nick Reilly, no blog da matriz.</p>
<p>&#8220;Desenvolvemos um plano sustentável para o futuro, que inclui o objetivo de rentabilidade, que esperamos apresentar em meados de dezembro&#8221;, explicou Reilly.</p>
<p>&#8220;Este plano incluirá reduções de custos estruturais, mas também compromissos de novos produtos, investimentos continuados em pesquisa e desenvolvimento, e um calendário agressivo para o lançamento de novos modelos&#8221;, acrescentou o executivo.</p>
<p>Ele ainda afirmou que &#8220;se a Opel/Vauxhall tem que florescer, é necessário que todos os proprietários contribuam para nosso plano de viabilidade.&#8221;</p>
<p>Como parte desse esforço, &#8220;esperamos assegurar assistência financeira dos governos nos Estados onde temos operações significativas&#8221;.</p>
<p><strong>9.000 cortes</strong></p>
<p>Nesta semana, Reilly se reuniu com os sindicatos que representam os funcionários da Opel e revelou partes do plano de reestruturação. Entre os pontos adiantados estão o corte de 9.000 funcionários &#8211; o que equivale a cerca de 20% da força de trabalho total da subsidiária &#8211; e uma redução da produção também na casa dos 20%.</p>
<p>Em compensação, revelou que manterá aberta as suas quatro fábricas na Alemanha &#8211; onde fica a sede da Opel e a maioria de sua produção.</p>
<p>Reilly também confirmou na ocasião que a aplicação do plano de saneamento custará 3,3 bilhões de euros, quantia que a GM bancará com recursos próprios.</p>

No entanto, a General Motors quis anunciar aos quatro cantos que ele será vendido mesmo na terra do Tio Sam. Prova disso é que a gigante de Detroit já está divulgando informações e imagens sobre a novidade. Ela será exposta durante o Salão de Los Angeles, que se inicia nos próximos dias.</p>
<p><!--more-->O sedã lá apresentado em muito pouco se diferencia dos modelos já conhecidos (tanto da Chevrolet quanto de Daewoo e Holden). O destaque é que ele conta com um motor de 1,4 litro e turbocompressor, uma solução comum na Europa e um tanto rejeitada nos EUA. Ele gera 138 cv e tem consumo médio na casa de 17 km/l. Vale lembrar que ele é &#8220;parente&#8221; do bloco adotado no futuro Chevrolet Volt.</p>
<p>A missão do Cruze não será das mais fáceis. Ele terá de entrar no lugar do pouco amado Cobalt para enfrentar os eficientes Honda Civic e Toyota Corolla, além dos bem-quistos Ford Focus (modelo americano) e Nissan Sentra.</p>

No entanto, os sites de duas revistas brasileiras (<em>AutoEsporte </em>e <em>Quatro Rodas</em>) revelam detalhes sobre esta novidade. Os preços partem de R$ 4.393 (Sunny) e R$ 5.346 (Sport).</p>
<p><!--more-->De acordo com os endereços eletrônicos, o kit Sunny é menos ousado. Ele traz rodas de liga leve com 16 polegadas, faróis com máscara negra e rack no teto. Sua intenção é fazer alusão aos aventureiros urbanos, como VW CrossFox e Renault Sandero Stepway.</p>
<p>Já o pacote Sport traz as mesmas rodas e faróis, mas adiciona minissais laterais, spoilers dianteiro e traseiro e aerofólio traseiro. A meta é deixar o visual mais esportivo, como o nome sugere, fazendo frente a kits de outras companhias.</p>

<p>Chevrolet has unveiled the Chevy Cruze for the North American market ahead of the LA Auto Show, where it will make its first appearance in North America.</p>
<p>It will be powered by a 1.4L turbocharged engine developing 136hp and 148lb-ft of torque, as well as 1.8L naturally aspirated engine with similar power but less torque. The engines will be connected to a six-speed gearbox, either manual or automatic.</p>

<p>It should arrive in showrooms in about 8 or 9 months. It&#8217;s quite good looking, but the engines sound pitiful.</p>

<p>LOS ANGELES – Chevrolet unveils the U.S. production version of the 2011 Cruze compact sedan at the L.A. Auto Show on Dec. 2. It is a global car refined for America, delivering many segment-leading features and details that challenge preconceived notions about what a compact car can be in North America.</p>
<p>The Cruze also affirms Chevrolet&#8217;s commitment to building refined, fuel-efficient vehicles, with new, small-displacement four-cylinder engines. It is expected to deliver segment-leading fuel economy with a new Ecotec 1.4L I-4 turbo with variable valve timing – including up to 40 mpg on the highway with a high-efficiency model.</p>
<p>&#8220;Cruze is already a hit across Europe and Asia; and now, it&#8217;s coming to America to challenge the status quo,&#8221; said Brent Dewar, GM Vice President, Chevrolet Global brand. &#8220;Along with the Volt electric vehicle, Cruze is the latest tangible example of how Chevrolet is working on exciting products that range from gas-friendly to gas-free.&#8221;</p>
<p>Leveraging Chevrolet&#8217;s design and engineering talent in Asia, Europe and North America, the Cruze brings to market a progressive, globally influenced design complemented by exceptional levels of quietness, quality and attention to detail – from precise tolerances between body panels to the use of premium materials throughout the interior.</p>
<p>&#8220;The amenities, quietness and roominess you expect in larger cars are what the Cruze delivers,&#8221; said Margaret Brooks, Chevrolet product marketing manager. &#8220;This is a car that will shake up the compact segment, with a more spacious interior and more cargo room than the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.&#8221;</p>
<p>Cruze goes on sale in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2010 but has already logged more than 4 million miles in quality and durability testing worldwide, making it one of the most real world-tested GM products prior to a U.S. launch. The U.S. and Canadian versions of the Cruze will be built in Lordstown, Ohio, where $350 million was invested for their production.</p>
<p>More than expected</p>
<p>The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze will be offered in LS, LT and LTZ trims. Standard and available equipment includes:</p>
<p>* New family of efficient four-cylinder engines, including a 1.4L turbo and 1.8L<br />
* Six-speed automatic and manual transmissions<br />
* Ten standard air bags, including frontal, side-impact, roof rail head curtain, rear seat side air bags and new knee air bags<br />
* Electronic stability control with rollover sensing<br />
* Bluetooth, USB connectivity and navigation system<br />
* XM Satellite Radio and OnStar<br />
* MacPherson strut front suspension and Watts Z-link rear suspension, with a family of 16-, 17- and 18-inch wheels<br />
* Standard StabiliTrak electronic stability control, traction control and anti-lock brakes<br />
* Fuel-saving, rack-mounted electric power steering<br />
* Unexpected levels of quietness, smoothness and refinement for the segment</p>
<p>All models share an interior characterized by premium materials and a lengthy roster of unexpected equipment, including leading infotainment. A stereo system that includes MP3 playback capability, six speakers and an auxiliary jack for personal playback devices is standard. A premium Pioneer sound system is available, as is a USB port for iPod operation. Other available technologies include Bluetooth and a navigation system.</p>
<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s a lot of content in all Cruze models; it was designed to give customers the features they want regardless of the car&#8217;s size or segment,&#8221; said Brooks. &#8220;At a very competitive price, you&#8217;ll be able to get a Cruze with leather and heated front seats, 16-inch aluminum wheels, XM Satellite Radio, OnStar, Bluetooth, a USB port for your iPod, cruise control, power locks and power outside mirrors.&#8221;</p>
<p>Arching roofline</p>
<p>Chevy Cruze&#8217;s design is distinguished with a bold face – including a two-tier grille with the iconic Bowtie logo – that is Chevrolet&#8217;s signature look around the globe. An arching roofline connects a steeply raked windshield and fast-sloping rear pillars to give the car a sporty, coupe-like proportion.</p>
<p>The sporty aesthetic is also seen in prominent headlamp housings that wrap around the corners and sweep upward in the fenders and sculpted hood, as well as a short rear deck typically found on sports coupes. The wheels are at the corners, too, with minimal front and rear overhangs. All the elements work cohesively to give Cruze an aggressive look that is complemented by a wide, confident stance.</p>
<p>Indeed, the Cruze is wider and longer than most of its competitors. Taut, tightly drawn bodywork conveys solidity, while restrained use of exterior trim enhances the car&#8217;s high-quality feel. The overall appearance is one of purposeful precision.</p>
<p>Precision is also seen in the Cruze&#8217;s build quality. The Lordstown assembly plant&#8217;s body shop was retooled with the latest in body-framing and welding equipment to optimize the manufacture of a very solid body structure. That strong structure fosters minimal production variance and repeatable gap tolerances of 3 mm or less between most exterior panels. To the customer, this means a better looking car when new and one that feels solid for years to come.</p>
<p>Interior refinement</p>
<p>Cruze&#8217;s bold design cues and attention to detail carry over to the interior, where a Corvette-inspired twin-cockpit motif is matched with high-quality materials and exceptional assembly tolerances. Grained, soft-touch components and low-gloss trim panels exude a quality that is uncommon in the segment.</p>
<p>The instrument panel is an excellent example of how Cruze eschews expectations of compact cars. It features richly detailed instruments that are backlit with light-emitting diode (LED) technology. The LED lights provide a crisp, ice-blue illumination of the analog instruments, as well as lighting for other interior controls. A segment-rare standard driver information center offers a wealth of data for the vehicle owner.</p>
<p>Blending harmoniously with the instrument panels is an integrated center stack that houses the infotainment display, climate controls and radio controls. Flush-mounted components within the center stack have a gap tolerance of less than 1 mm, while the instrument panel-to-door panel gaps are less than 5 mm. Those tolerances are among the best in the class and contribute significantly to the Cruze&#8217;s aura of refinement and precision.</p>
<p>Cruze&#8217;s headliner and pillar trim exude craftsmanship, too. The headliner cover is made of a knit material that also serves as one of five layers of an acoustically designed headliner to help make the passenger compartment quieter. The interior pillar and other moldings are color- and grain-matched to the headliner, while seat inserts are color-matched to the color of the instrument panel accent trim, giving the cabin the detailed appearance of larger, upscale sedans.</p>
<p>New, efficient powertrains</p>
<p>Enhanced with its exhaust-driven turbocharger, the Cruze&#8217;s Ecotec 1.4L turbo performs like a larger engine when needed, but retains the efficiency of a small-displacement four-cylinder in most driving conditions. It is standard on LT and LTZ models, with power ratings estimated at 138 horsepower (103 kW) and 148 lb.-ft. of torque (200 Nm).</p>
<p>Standard on LS models is an Ecotec 1.8L four-cylinder that has the same basic architecture as the 1.4L turbo. Both engines are part of GM&#8217;s family of global small-displacement engines designed with fuel efficiency in mind, including technology such as full variable valve timing that optimizes performance and fuel economy across the rpm band.</p>
<p>Backing the Cruze&#8217;s new four-cylinder engines are six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. Each contributes to Cruze&#8217;s excellent fuel economy and, with their carefully matched gears, enhances its fun-to-drive quotient.</p>
<p>With the Ecotec 1.4L turbo, Cruze&#8217;s fuel efficiency enables a cruising range of more than 500 miles (800 km), meaning it can go longer between fill-ups.</p>
<p>Cruze is backed by GM&#8217;s five-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty – the best coverage in America.</p>
<p>Responsive, quiet driving experience</p>
<p>Complementing Cruze&#8217;s new powertrains is a strong body structure and chassis system designed to deliver a responsive and fun driving experience. The body structure is tight and stiff; and its solidity enabled engineers to more precisely tune the chassis for comfort and driving control.</p>
<p>A MacPherson strut suspension is used up front, while a technically advanced Watts Z-link design is used with the rear suspension. It helps center the rear axle during cornering, helping to keep the Cruze&#8217;s handling responses symmetrical on both left-hand and right-hand turns. The linkage&#8217;s capability to center the axle during cornering delivers a more balanced driving experience, as the rear suspension better follows the lead of the front suspension.</p>
<p>StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation, as well as traction control and anti-lock brakes are standard. Electric power steering is also standard on all models. It helps save fuel because it removes the conventional power steering pump from the engine&#8217;s driven accessories. Sixteen-inch wheels are standard on LS and LT models, with 17-inch alloy wheels standard on LTZ. Eighteen-inch alloy wheels are available on 2LT and LTZ models.</p>
<p>Along with a responsive driving experience, the Cruze delivers quietness and refinement on the road. Hydraulic ride bushings and an isolated engine cradle reduce or eliminate vibration pathways that could be transmitted to the passenger compartment. Similarly, a number of noise-reducing and noise-cancelling technologies are employed throughout the body structure, including 18 distinctive acoustical treatments. Examples include:</p>
<p>* The steel front-of-dash panel is sandwiched between two damping mats<br />
* Nylon baffles are used in various hollow portions of the body structure and filled with sound-absorbing foam that expands when the body enters the paint oven<br />
* The headliner comprises five layers of thermal fiber acoustic material, including a premium woven fabric on the visible outer layer<br />
* Patches of sound-damping material are applied strategically throughout the body structure and melt into place when the body passes through the paint oven, allowing the patches to follow the contours of the sheet metal below<br />
* Sound insulation material between rear-body structural components that is made from recycled blue jean material<br />
* The doors have triple seals and feature fiberglass &#8220;blankets&#8221; that serve as water, airflow and noise barriers. The doors are also beta-braced, meaning they close with a solid, precise sound and no resonance.</p>

Die Ursache dafürist in den kapitalistischen Ausbeutungsverhältnissen zu sehen, denen die Angehörigen aufgrund ihrer proletarischen Klassenzugehörigkeit unterworfen sind. Der Plan der Herrschenden ist es, uns unsere Menschenrechte an Konsumgütern nur zum Preis für Entfremdung von uns selbst und unserem revolutionären Kampf zugestehen zu wollen. Dieser hinterlistige Plan schien in den letzten Wochen aufzugehen, doch jetzt sind wir wieder da, und zwar mit verstärktem sozialistischen Kampfesmut!<br />
(Anders gesagt: &#8216;Tschuldigung für unser zweiwöchiges Schweigen, wir hatten alle viel Arbeit.)<br />

Zunächst hat die Adam Opel GmbH ihr wahres, unmenschliches Gesicht gezeigt. Jetzt endlich verstehen auch die Opel-ArbeiterInnen, daß sie durch ihre Arbeit<!--more--> nur ausgebeutet werden und kalt gefeuert werden, wenn es dem Profit der Kapitalisten dient und der sozialistische Staat sich nicht durchsetzen kann. Genosse Joschka Fischer hat das ja frühzeitig erkannt und entsprechend agitiert, aber damals wollten die OpelanerInnen lieber arbeitende als agitierende KollegInnen und so wurde er gefeuert. Man könnte also fast meinen, die drohenden Entlassungen geschehen den Opelanern recht. Aber wir SozialistInnen glauben natürlich an das Gute im Menschen (also nicht an Gott). Gerade die Krise bietet Chancen zur Umerziehung. Das soll hier genutzt werden.<br />
Wie alle im durchschauen <a href="http://www.aktion-zivilcourage.de/Braune_Symbole.472">rechtsextremistischer Symbolik</a> geschulte GenossInnen graphisch mittels eines Spiegels und einiger Schnäpse nachweisen können, hat die Adam Opel GmbH besondere Verbindungen zur sexualreaktionären, asketisch-mystizistischen NS-Ideologie bis heute nicht aufgegeben. Der erste Beweis ist das Firmensymbol. Der andere Beweis ist die Unternehmensgeschichte.<br />
Zunächst produzierte Opel Fahrräder und Motorräder für den Massenmarkt. Ab den 30er Jahren stellte sich das Unternehmen auf Automobile um, insbesondere militärisch genutzte LkW. Natürlich steckt dahinter auch KriegsgewinnlerInnentum.</p>

<p>Aber es ist noch schlimmer. Diese Unternehmensentscheidung ist eine direkte Provokation gegen die Sexualreform gewesen. Für reaktionär-konservative Schichten wie die GM-Konzernleitung im imperialistischen Amerika war das hingegen ein Schock. Also flugs die Produktion auf asketische Fahrzeuge umgestellt, um den gewollten gesellschaftlichen Zwang zur Mobilität nicht durch sexuell befreiende Fahrzeugangebote in ein revolutionäres Moment zu verwandeln! Das steckt primär hinter dem gesellschaftlichen Siegeszug des Automobils.<br />
Aber die Revolution in ihrem Lauf hält keine Konzernleitung mehr auf! Tatkräftige AntifaschistInnen, die den gesellschaftlichen Zwang zum Autofahren sexualökonomisch durchschaut haben, engagieren sich deswegen friedlich in der Wagensportliga, um ein Umdenken über das gesellschaftliche Diktat zu einer sexualasketischen Form der Fortbewegung auszulösen. Drivmidlet har været en nærmest utrolig entusiasme og et ønske om at se deres egen ideer køre ud af værkstedet. Det har i hvert fald ikke været pengene som fabrikanterne er gået efter, hvilket man har kunnet se på den korte levetid som der typisk for disse små produktioner.</p>

Historien bag de første eksempler der har opnået en hvis succes , er beskrevet på Ed Roth&#8217;s udemærkede website <a href="http://www.americansportscars.com/" target="_blank">americansportscars.com</a>, men ud over dem har der været en mylder af små mere eller mindre hjemmelavede køretøjer.</p>
<p>Kendetegnende for disse helt uafhængige bilproduktioner har typisk været et selvstændig design, der ikke altid var lige heldigt fra nogle vinkler, og at køretøjet var basret på en glassfiber konstruktion. Ofte er det kun en lille håndfuld biler der er produceret, eller dette sagt med et gran salt, da det faktisk ikke er nøglefærdige biler der typisk er blevet produceret men kun karrosser, som en handyman med hænderne skruet rigtigt på selv kunne konstruere færdig hjemme i indkørslen.</p>
<p>Geoff Hacker, en bilhistoriker fra Florida, har for ganske nylig startet en veldesignet hjemmeside op for fans af disse glassfiber sportsvogne. Uma delas foi a Pontiac, tradicional divisão de veículos de alto desempenho do conglomerado. A empresa, fundada em janeiro de 1926, produziu nesta semana sua última unidade nos EUA. Chega ao fim uma história de 83 anos na indústria automotiva.</p>
<p><!--more-->O último veículo produzido pela Pontiac foi o G6, em uma unidade pintada de branco. Ela ficará guardada no museu interno da GM. Vale lembrar, no entanto, que as linhas de produção da empresa no México continuam na ativa. Lá é feito o pequeno G3 Wave, desenvolvido em parceria com outro fabricante.</p>
<p>Com o fim da produção do G6, a unidade norte-americana começa a ser preparada para produzir um veículo compacto. No entanto, este novo modelo só será fabricado a partir de 2011. Especula-se que seja o novo Spark ou a nova geração do Aveo. Vale ressaltar que os operários que antes atuavam pela Pontiac vieram da Oldsmobile, outra marca descontinuada pela GM. Esta, no entanto, saiu do mercado em 2000.</p>
<p>A Pontiac nasceu no Salão de Detroit de 1926 como marca de veículos diferenciados. Nos EUA, ficou ainda mais famosa após ter iniciado o segmento de muscle-cars com o endiabrado GTO.</p>

A medida foi tomada para garantir a existência da empresa escandinava após o cancelamento da compra acertada pela Koenigsegg.</p>
<p><!--more-->De acordo com um executivo da marca sueca, a intenção é retomar conversações com potenciais compradores, interessados novamente em ficar com a Saab. &#8220;Temos diálogo e uma relação próxima com vários [grupos] que já demonstraram interesse em comprar a Saab Automobile&#8221;, teria dito o executivo sem nome. De acordo com o mesmo, 27 companhias haviam procurado saber mais sobre a empresa para adquiri-la, sendo que 10 delas visitaram suas instalações entre abril e maio deste ano.</p>
<p>O problema para a Saab é começar toda a negociação novamente após a desistência da Koenigsegg. Extra-oficialmente, o motivo é o desentedimento entre GM, atual dona da marca, e a BAIC, investidora da fabricante de esportivos.</p>
<p>Em breve, novidades oficiais direto da GM &#8211; ou da Saab.</p>

A General Motors informou que continuará investindo em veículos com chassis de longarinas, montados sobre chassis, como acontece atualmente com vários de seus modelos. Nos EUA, Chevrolet Tahoe, Avalanche, Suburban e Silverado e Cadillac Escalade, entre outros, têm esta característica. Isso quer dizer que eles não investirão em SUVs monobloco tão cedo.</p>
<p><!--more-->De acordo com o site Pickup Trucks, a próxima geração da plataforma GMT (GM Truck) da gigante americana será produzida no Canadá e no México. Sua fabricação ficará sob responsabilidade da Magna International. De acordo com um porta-voz da fornecedora canadense, a arquitetura dará origem a novos SUVs da GM. Ela será mais pesada que a atual, mas facilitará o transporte e o reboque de cargas pesadas.</p>
<p>A GM deveria estar pensando em soluções de SUVs mais leves e menos beberronas, para ajudar a reduzir sua média de emissões, que pode gerar multas à empresa. No entanto, a companhia pretende oferecer utilitários de luxo mais equipados e robustos, graças ao baixo custo de manutenção dos chassis de longarias.</p>
<p>Prova de que seu pensamento não está muito errado é o volume de vendas de seus SUVs. Só em outubro, mais de 200 mil unidades de Suburban/Tahoe, Escalade e Yukon foram vendidas nos EUA.</p>

<p>So, German tuner Loma Performance (some guys I&#8217;ve personally never heard of) have been busy at bolting two turbochargers to a Corvette C6 and taking its horsepower figure up to 783. But don&#8217;t worry because they&#8217;ve also been working on other upgrades. The new car gets a rebuilt gearbox plus a new carbon fibre clutch to cope with the power as well as carbon fibre driveshafts. Now that&#8217;s all impressive stuff but if you ask me, the normal C6 already had plenty of power for what it&#8217;s suspension/chassis could manage so you would think this new one gets racing shocks and other sensible modifications. Well, no, it just gets the new OZ wheels, ceramic brakes and that new body kit. Who cares tough? Because just look at it. It&#8217;s amazing to look at, and the name is even better: Blackforce One. It sounds like a jet fighter. And it goes like one as well: 0-60 is dealt with in 3.4 seconds and you will be accelerating all the way up to 205mph. You will be able to choose from 300 different types of leather for the seats for the interior and you get some lovely Alcantara as well. The road going monster will be launched at the Essen Motor Show, will cost a whopping 190,000 euros and only 25 will be built.</p>

<p>As you may already know from other news sources (We never mentioned this, my apologies), Koenigsegg, who planned to buy Saab, pulled out of the deal. The brand&#8217;s future was beginning to look bleak.</p>
<p>Luckily though,  two new bidders have emerged. One of them is Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Corporation (BAIC), a Chinese company as the name might suggest. The Chinese are expanding more and more, with Geely buying Volvo, Shanghai Automobile Industry Corporation holding MG, and now these guys trying to buy Saab. The second bidder is Wyoming-based merchant bank Merbanco.</p>
<p>These two companies were in the running originally as well, but then GM chose Koenigsegg as their preferred bidder. In fact, BAIC was even a minority partner in the Koenigsegg bid and hoped to produce the new 9-5 in China.</p>
<p>Saab is currently surviving on loans from the Swedish government and European Investment Bank, amounting to about 3.23 billion USD. This money will be transferred to the new owner once a deal is complete.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>O motivo da desistência da compra da Saab pela Koenigsegg não ficou bem claro &#8211; nem convenceu muita gente. No entanto, a imprensa sueca já aponta outros fatores, além dos oficiais (o &#8220;atraso&#8221; nas negociações), como essenciais para o término das conversas. O problema principal seria um atrito entre a General Motors, atual proprietária da Saab, e a BAIC, empresa chinesa parceirada Koenigsegg. A informação é do diário sueco <em>Göteborgs Posten</em>.</p>
<p><!--more-->De acordo com o periódico, a GM não tinha problemas com a BAIC. No entanto, como a gigante chinesa ofereceu um empréstimo milionário à Koenigsegg para comprar a Saab e assumir uma participação minoritária no conglomerado, também passou a fazer exigências nas negociações. A BAIC queria ter acesso a patentes, ideias, marcas e toda a tecnologia da Saab, algo que jamais passou pelos planos da GM.</p>
<p>Sem disponibilidade e vontade para ceder, a GM negou todos os pedidos da BAIC. Já a Koenigsegg, que se encontrava no meio do tiroteio entre das duas partes, tentou intermediar uma espécie de trégua. Sem qualquer sinal de melhora, a fabricante de esportivos simplesmente deixou as negociações, encerrando o atrito e deixando a BAIC sem a Saab e a GM sem dinheiro.</p>

<p>Apesar da melhor solução aparentemente ter sido encontrada pela Koengisegg, muitos temem pelo futuro da Saab. As autoridades suecas estão confiantes de que a GM tem um plano B para vendê-la, mas nada pode garantir que ele exista.  E agora, quem poderá salvar a Saab?</p>

Nele, a gigante americana afirma sua meta de demitir 2,5 mil operários. De acordo com Koch, o projeto da Magna International, favorita para assumir as operações da Opel, cortaria no máximo 1.600 empregos na planta de Russelheim até 2014.</p>
<p><!--more-->Koch se mostrou indignado com a proposta da GM, principalmente após o presidente do conglomerado para a Europa, Nick Reilly, divulgar que os planos seriam semelhantes aos formulados pela Magna. No entanto, a quantidade de demissões aumentou consideravelmente. “Esperamos que a GM siga de forma fiel o conceito [do plano da Magna] e esclareça que os boatos publicados pela imprensa não condizem à realidade”, comunicou. Vale lembrar que os planos da Magna já haviam sido aprovados pelo governo da Alemanha.</p>
<p>A Opel é atualmente uma das empresas com o maior número de colaboradores no estado de Hesse, enquanto Koch foi crucial para que a marca obtivesse empréstimos para se manter em operação. O governante havia participado ativamente das negociações de venda da Opel para a Magna.</p>
<p>Com a manutenção do comando da Opel pela GM, tudo indica que os planos de cortar até 9 mil empregos em toda a Europa sejam mantidos. Destes, de 50% a 60% seriam retirados da Alemanha, principalmente de Hesse. Com a medida, até mesmo as operações da Opel na Bélgica podem ser comprometidas.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Autorii studiului au analizat costurile energetice, sociale si de mediu ale productiei de masini la nivel mondial raportat la fiecare constructor auto in parte. Potrivit datelor culese de cercetatori, General Motors a cheltuit 9,87 miliarde de euro in forma costurilor ecologice si sociale in perioada 1999-2007, in timp ce Toyota a economisit 5 miliarde de euro in raport cu media industriei.<!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Potrivit raportului industria producatoare de masini din Asia (Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi si Suzuki) depaseste cu mult performantele celei nord-americane. Dintre producatorii europeni, Daimler sta cel mai bine, fiind urmat indeaproape de Mercedes, Volkswagen, PSA Peugeor-Citroen si Renault.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">“Producatorii auto consuma resursele si acest lucru ne costa. Risipa energiei scumpe nu este o idee buna”, a declarat Frank Figge, profesor la Universitatea Queen si coordonator al studiului care a adaugat ca producatorii auto si-ar putea reduce costurile prin investitii ecologice.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Sustainche™ thinks about Germany’s National Strategy for Sustainable Development (I)]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[Sustainche during the past days was busy reading the National Strategy for Sustainable Development o]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Sustainche during the past days was busy reading the <em>National Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Germany</em>, or – more precisely – the <em>Progress Report 2008</em> on the National Strategy for Sustainable Development: <em>For a Sustainable Germany</em>. “Well, there can be no doubt that the Germans have thought about Sustainable Development !” So far, Sustainche is satisfied.</p>
<p>First of all, Sustainche is delighted to notice that both the political Coalition Agreement of 2005 and 2009 expressly professed support for sustainability as a political guiding principle and the further development of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development. Thus, it is clear that <em>sustainability</em> as a long-term approach is independent of particular legislative periods and is supported by a broad political consensus. This is already more than Sustainche saw in Macedonia ! Beyond this, Sustainche has the strange feeling that politicians enjoy using the word <em>sustainable</em> whenever it is possible … and even if it makes no sense at all. This might be due to the specifics of German language, which – in general – understands sustainable equal to long-lasting. Ok, long-lasting seems to be a word that German speaking human mammals like … <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif' alt=';-)' class='wp-smiley' />  </p>
<p>On the other hand politicians are not necessarily the most important species on Planet Earth and sometimes normal citizens’ brains think more practical. It appears to Sustainche that specific aspects of Sustainable Development are extremely popular among German citizens, for example renewable energies. While looking around in his new neighbourhood and thanks to the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) legislation, it seems that private investments in solar, wind and biomass energies are something very normal in real daily life. Entire villages in Germany made themselves independent from global playing electricity suppliers. Isn’t this excellent civic commitment ! <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' />  </p>
<p><a href="http://sustainche.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/selected-indicators-nssd-germany-progress-report-20081.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-675" title="Selected Indicators NSSD Germany Progress Report 2008" src="http://sustainche.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/selected-indicators-nssd-germany-progress-report-20081.jpg" alt="" width="497" height="326" /></a>Since the Progress Report 2008 presents the state of the art as of July 2008 the State Secretaries’ Committee on Sustainable Development enjoys highlighting the ‘sound budgetary policy’ as a foundation stone of sustainable development. Having the target formulated that the federal budget shall be without net borrowing from 2011 at latest, consolidating the budget is defined as to be the key element in creating intergeneration equity and improving the quality of State expenditure. Sustainche can virtually smell the happiness of the State Secretaries that such a goal was indeed realistic in July 2008. However, – we all know – then September and October 2008 arrived and the so-called ‘Global Financial Crisis’ washed away everything like a tsunami … ! </p>
<p>Sustainche asks himself what this means: Very simply speaking the key indicator in creating ‘intergeneration equity’ and ‘improving the quality of State expenditure’ turned from ‘sunshine’ to ‘thunderstorm’ ! Every year tremendous state debts are envisaged: A total of 243 Billion Euro between the year 2010 and 2016 ! And, by taking the sentence above literally: NO <em>intergeneration equity</em> and NO <em>improvement of the quality of State expenditure</em> will be possible for years to come, and, thus no sustainable development ! </p>
<p>“Hmmm … ,” Sustainche’s Blog readers might think, “perhaps it wasn’t so wise to newly introduce the ‘national debt’ as a key indicator in 2008 … ?” “In fact, it was wise”, Sustainche is sure ! Yes, the indicator indeed shows that the development goes in the wrong direction and if the annual trend continues unaltered the distance to be covered to reach the goal would become even greater. The state is indeed not operational any more and this not only refers to Germany. Today, Banks, Investment Banks and General Motors dictate what they want and they simply play around with Governments and people. Complete states today are taken hostage by a handful of Anglo-Saxon style capitalists. This is the fact, which – of course – has nothing to do with Sustainable Development of the people, by the people and for the people !</p>

<p>This Thanksgiving week, General Motors has officially ceased production of it&#8217;s Pontiac brand of vehicles as a result of the bailout by the U.S. government.  Not only could the car maker not meet it&#8217;s financial obligations but, the fact is that the car&#8217;s brand no longer had the appeal it once did and sales were declining.</p>
<p>The last Pontiac G-8 rolled off the assembly line in Orion heading for a fleet order rather than a museum for posterity sake yesterday.  <a href="http://www.detnews.com/article/20091126/AUTO01/911260411/Pontiac-reaches-end-of-the-line/?imw=Y">http://www.detnews.com/article/20091126/AUTO01/911260411/Pontiac-reaches-end-of-the-line/?imw=Y</a> </p>
<p><a href="http://www.pontiac.com/">http://www.pontiac.com/</a> has the official closeout information on remaining vehicles for sale with deals as low as o% financing for six years or cash back offers up to $4,500.  As a wake up call to anyone buying a car, six years is an absurd amount of time to pay off a car, especially when the warranty ends before you pay it off.</p>
<p>With discount offers like this across most of GM&#8217;s product line up, how they are ever going to make money, get out of bankruptcy and away from government ownership is beyond any one&#8217;s guess. </p>
<p>Besides the 1000&#8217;s of job losses at Pontiac plants, NUMMI the joint venture between  GM and Toyota venture looks to be shutting its doors as well. <a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/drive/ci_13766495">http://www.mercurynews.com/drive/ci_13766495</a> From the Bureau of Labor Statistics unemployment by state <a href="http://www.bls.gov/web/laumstrk.htm">http://www.bls.gov/web/laumstrk.htm</a> is listed.  Like the climategate, how true these numbers are is any one&#8217;s guess.</p>
<p>I recall the 1978 Pontiac Bonneville that I learned to drive in.  What a tank, but it had the radio antennae built into the glass which was pretty cool.  In 1982 came the Firebird and was featured on the TV Show <em>Knight Rider</em>.  I never owned one, but a lot of my buddies did and it was a girl magnet.</p>

<p>In 1984,  my dad through a mid life crisis or whatever, found the Pontiac Fiero much more in the spirit of things.  What a car it was and far removed from anything on the market.  The damned things body was made of plastic!  We&#8217;ll some sort of poly-resin- that when a grocery cart hit it it bounced off with no damage.  With no USA steel to give it strength, on impact the car crumbled.  Luckily, we never crashed it but traded it it on something or another.  Might have been the Cadillac Sedan De Ville with the horrendous 4-6-8 valve engine- another GM disaster.</p>
<p>Our Fiero was hot red in color with every option known to man, including the fabulous sound system from Bose.  Nothing like Van Halen screaming at you at ten decibels while driving down the highway. A definite babe magnet of a car.  It made you want to live in the fast lane or at least drive in it.</p>

<p>In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Chief Pontiac of the Ottawa Tribe must be glad to know that the spirit of the Pontiac brand of vehicles will go on- in memory at least.  He was quoted as saying, </p>

<p>It didn&#8217;t turn out so good for the Indians being forced to reservations, but in the long run some tribes are probably more financially stable than the U.S. government,  thanks to good fiscal policy and casino&#8217;s.</p>
<p>Ironically enough, the Pontiac Silverdome was sold this month for $583,000 USD to a Toronto, Canadadian businessman. Completed in 1975 as the Pontiac Metropolitan Stadium, at a cost of $55.7 million, the Silverdome seats 80,311. <title><![CDATA[General Motors prevê vender quase 1 milhão de carros em 2012]]></title>

<p>O presidente da General Motors do Brasil, Jaime Ardila, tem como meta produzir e vender 1 milhão de carros até o final de 2012. Para isso, contará com o investimento de R$ 5 bilhões para a renovação de toda a linha de produtos da marca Chevrolet. &#8220;Estamos fazendo o trabalho que precisa ser feito, que é o trabalho no produto. Tem que fazer isso com humildade porque esse é um negócio que todos têm bom produto, todos têm boa tecnologia e é o cliente que manda, não são as companhias&#8221;, afirmou Ardila ao G1 em entrevista exclusiva.</p>
<p>Ardila é o primeiro de uma série de entrevistas que o G1 fará com presidentes de montadoras no Brasil.</p>
<p>Ao G1, o executivo também comentou sobre a propaganda do Agile, um carro recém-lançado pela montadora. O anúncio foi apontado como pró-governo, por relembrar pontos positivos da história recente do Brasil. Críticos lembraram que o plano de investimento da montadora, estimado em R$ 5 bilhões, está apoiado em um empréstimo de R$ 450 milhões de uma instituição pública, o Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES). &#8220;Alguns falaram que era uma propaganda aos governos brasileiros, o que achei muito interessante porque são governos de partidos diferentes. Se for assim, ficamos equilibrados, fora da política&#8221;, disse Ardila, lembrando que a peça mostra fatos que ocorreram durante os governos FHC (PSDB, 1995-2002) e Lula (PT, desde 2003).</p>
<p>Com dois projetos nacionais que englobam, pelo menos, o desenvolvimento de seis novos modelos no país, entre eles, o Agile, a General Motors do Brasil conquista a independência da matriz norte-americana, que ainda tenta se recuperar da forte crise que a levou a recorrer à lei de falências dos Estados Unidos. Do total que será investido, R$ 2 bilhões já são aplicados, sendo R$ 1 bilhão do caixa da própria GM do Brasil. O restante é financiado por bancos brasileiros. A filial brasileira também será responsável pela fabricação de dois produtos para os Estados Unidos e Ásia.</p>
<p><strong>Leia a seguir os principais trechos da entrevista</strong></p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Em relação à propaganda do Agile, ela ressalta os últimos 15 anos de progresso do Brasil. Seria um recado para a matriz, que também tem foco na China e na índia, outros países com forte potencial mercado?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Alguns falaram que era uma propaganda aos governos brasileiros, o que achei muito interessante porque são governos de partidos diferentes. Se for assim, ficamos equilibrados, fora da política. O Brasil atingiu um patamar novo dentro do cenário mundial nos últimos anos, isso ninguém duvida, o país ficou mais importante e mais atraente para os investidores estrangeiros. Tem uma sólida economia, com crescimento sustentável, isso faz para nós, investidores da indústria automobilística, um país muito mais importante. Já era para a GM um país muito importante, agora virou ainda mais. A propaganda é um paralelo entre a história do Brasil e da Chevrolet. Estamos 85 anos no Brasil, nestes anos tivemos as mesmas alegrias e tristezas dos brasileiros. E hoje estamos na Chevrolet em um patamar de sucesso. Isso justificou os investimentos em um plano de cinco anos, o que precisa de uma confiança muito grande no futuro do Brasil.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Qual será o próximo lançamento dentro da linha do Agile?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Fechamos o compromisso de investir R$ 5 bilhões, de 2008 a 2012, para fazer a renovação completa de nosso portfólio de produtos. O primeiro projeto que é o Viva já tem um modelo no mercado, o Agile, e vair ter um segundo modelo durante o terceiro trimestre do próximo ano, que será fabricado em nossa planta de São Caetano do Sul.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Já pode adiantar se é um sedã, utilitário ou picape?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Ainda não posso, vamos fazer o anúncio dentro de seis meses, mas posso prometer que terá tanto sucesso quanto o Agile, que está com demanda muito acima das nossas expectativas e, na verdade, acima da capacidade de produção que nós temos na planta de Rosário, na Argentina. Vamos aumentar a produção lá, para isso estamos fazendo investimento adicional. Estamos produzindo 6 mil unidades por mês e vamos tentar aumentar para 8 mil unidades por mês, o que dá além das 25 mil unidades que pensamos para o próximo ano, umas 24 mil a 25 mil unidades a mais.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> E sobre a outra família de modelos, o chamado projeto Ônix?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> A nova família Ônix terá pelo menos dois modelos novos, a ser produzidos na fábrica de Gravataí, no Rio Grande do Sul. O investimento feito lá (de R$ 1,4 bilhão) foi exclusivo para este projeto. Além disso, anunciamos a construção da fábrica de motores de Joinville, vai ser uma planta nova para motores e transmissões, que abastecerá a nova família Onix e, provavelmente, outros modelos. Fizemos também um anúncio em São José dos Campos de investimento de R$ 1 bilhão para dois novos modelos. Sobre quais serão, ainda estão em processo de definição.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Seria uma picape?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Nós temos uma responsabilidade em nível global da GM por uma picape. Uma nova picape compacta, na verdade não é compacta, para nós no Brasil seria de tamanho médio.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> É a substituta da S10?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Não é uma picape para o mercado brasileiro. Vai ser vendida nos Estados Unidos, sem dúvida em alguns países da Ásia e estamos em processo de decisão para o Brasil e para os países do Mercosul, mas ainda não temos essa definição.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> O projeto Ônix trará nova plataforma e motorização. Será o projeto mais importante para o Brasil?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> É uma plataforma nova e moderna, com todos os elementos de segurança, conforto e tecnologia de toda linha nova de produtos da GM em nível global. A motorização ainda está em processo de definição também, esse é um projeto de alto volume. Nós não faríamos no Brasil, especialmente em Gravataí que é uma planta muito grande, produtos de volume pequeno.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Então seriam compactos?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Em geral, segmentos de alto volume do mercado, que vão precisar de ampliação da capacidade de 225 mil unidades que temos hoje até, provavelmente, acima de 250 mil unidades, então estamos falando de produtos de muito volume. O Ônix começará em outubro de 2012.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Esse projeto é desenvolvido na Coreia do Sul?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Não, esse projeto é desenvolvido aqui no Brasil, no nosso centro tecnológico. Temos uma cooperação muito estreita hoje com o centro tecnológico da Coreia do Sul e da China, além da cooperação que já tínhamos com a Opel (divisão europeia), que continua normal. Mas para os próximos anos o que nós vemos é que a cooperação com a Coreia vai ser muito estreita, porque o tipo de produtos que eles estão fazendo é muito parecido com o nosso.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Quais são as perspectivas da Chevrolet para trazer carros para o Brasil, já que a valorização do real diante do dólar traz vantagem a este tipo de negócio?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Hoje estamos trazendo dois produtos importados fora do Mercosul que são o Omega, que vem da Austrália, e a Captiva, do México. A nossa ideia é importar e continuar olhando oportunidades de importação para produtos de volume baixo, ou seja, segmentos que são nichos de mercado, com preços altos. Estamos explorando oportunidades com o México, porque temos acordo comercial com eles e importamos sem impostos, e estamos olhando oportunidades com os Estados Unidos e em outros países também, mas sempre em baixo volume. Eu gostaria de ter um sedã premium dentro da nossa linha de produtos entre o Vectra e o Ômega, e avaliamos várias alternativas. Os SUVs (utilitários esportivos) continuam sendo um segmento interessante para nós e o sucesso da Captiva fez com que o nosso interesse aumentasse. Essas são as duas áreas em que eu falaria que estamos interessados.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Com a nova cara para a Chevrolet aqui, quais são as perspectivas de produção e vendas para 2012, quando termina os investimentos de renovação de produtos?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Acredito que a indústria atingirá patamar muito próximo a 4 milhões de unidades, incluindo caminhões e ônibus, para 2012/2013. Como a nossa participação de mercado é de, aproximadamente, 20% estamos falando de 800 mil carros, além do que exportamos. Isso faz com que a meta de produzir e vender um milhão de unidades não esteja muito longe, na verdade, nossa ideia é nos aproximar de um milhão de unidades nessa data.</p>
<p><strong>G1 -</strong> Não foi só a GM que anunciou novos investimentos há pouco. Na semana passada, a Ford disse que vai investir R$ 4 bilhões no Brasil e um dos objetivos é se aproximar da GM, porque existe um “buraco” entre a duas em participação de mercado no Brasil. Vocês vão focar a preocupação em se proteger da Ford ou continuar de olho em Fiat e Volkswagen para puxar o mercado deles?</p>
<p><strong>Jaime Ardila -</strong> Essa é uma pergunta interessante. O buraco que existe entre a Chevrolet e o primeiro do mercado é muito menor do que o buraco que existe entre a Chevrolet e o concorrente que está atrás de nós. Então nosso foco, por enquanto, continua para frente, continua fechando essa diferença que existe entre nós e o líder do mercado. E estamos fazendo o trabalho que precisa ser feito, que é o trabalho no produto. Você tem que fazer isso com humildade porque esse é um negócio que todos têm bom produto e boa tecnologia e é o cliente que manda, não são as companhias. Ao final, nosso esforço é dar para o cliente um produto que esteja além das expectativas e os investimentos estão sendo feitos para nós merecermos a confiança e a preferência dos consumidores. Já temos atingido um patamar muito importante, acho que temos uma base sólida para continuar crescendo.</p>
