You know it’s interesting. When one sees the Ford Flex, there is that brief “What is THAT?” moment

You know it’s interesting. When one sees the Ford Flex, there is that brief “What is THAT?” moment until it passes or you get up next to it. And it’s not a bad “What is THAT?,” it’s just that to the untrained eye, from a distance, it can look like a Mini Clubman, or an Element, or even a Range Rover. And that’s part of its charm. You don’t look at the Flex and immediately proclaim, “Oh, it’s one of those.” And by those, we mean a wagon, or a van, or an S U V.

And what’s even more compelling about the Flex, is that it doesn’t restrict itself when it comes to interior features, comfort, or even economy. It’s kind of a sleeper. And it’s got enough hip factor, that you could pull up to the school, and not feel the harsh glare of judgment as your kids jump into the 5th minivan in line, or an S U V that looks like every other. You can take the Flex anywhere, and be sure that people are going to think it’s a little different.
And we like that.

From a performance standpoint the Flex pleasantly surprises at every turn. With 17 and 24 mpg, it’s not going to break any records, but is still quite respectable for a vehicle this size- better than most SUVs, and within range of most minivans. For 2013, the highly acclaimed Ecoboost engine will be available for the Flex, improving both power and fuel efficiency. “But what about when it snows, or I want to take the family up to the slopes?” or “But I live on a hill, and it gets icy in the winter,” we can hear it all now. Well, fret no longer. Both the Limited and Titanium versions of the Flex are available with all wheel drive. The Flex also has impressive handling, braking, and maneuverability for a vehicle of its size.

Here’s where it gets even better; The Flex has comfortable seating for 7. COMFORTABLE. A lot of larger SUVs and vans claim the 7 passenger capacity, but the back row is only good for children, or transporting the cast of the Wizard of Oz Reunion. Another unique feature is the 4 sunroofs. FOUR! One over the front row, two over the middle row, and a big one over the rear seats . How cool would it be on a camping trip or an introspective journey to some ocean viewpoint, to lie in the back, and contemplate the stars? Of course the Flex has all of the available technological goodies including; TV screens in the headrests of the front seats, for hours of nag free driving on long trips, and even get this….a refrigerator/freezer in the center console. You can have cold drinks on the way there, or make sure that they will be cold when you get back to the Flex when you return.
Pretty sweet.

And now, we will present you with the closing statement to end all closing statements. The Ford Flex was one of 4 Ford vehicles to be listed in the top 10 most pet safe vehicles of the year, by Bark Buckle Up- the leading experts in pet travel safety. Who even knew there was one of those?
But there is. And for 2010, the Ford Flex won the award. This is not only because the Flex will offer tons of space, and configurability for your four legged friend, and any crates you might need to transport. But also, because, should the Flex be involved in an accident, its design keeps both your furry friend, and you, safe from them “joining” you in the front of the vehicle.

How cool is that?
Watch this video for more info: http://youtu.be/O6v_Jqtv7Ks

So if the fact that you want to break from the norm, and get something a little different from what all of your neighbors are driving isn’t enough…. AND, If having tons of features making long trips more tolerable and peaceful for everyone involved isn’t enough….
For Pete’s sake, do it for the Dog
