We went to El Dorado for their one-year anniversary. They had a hosted bar and free food but we didn’t get there in time for it. We still got wasted though and we went back to Ky’s for the after party.

• Monday’s One Tree Hill (2.6 million viewers) dropped ever so slightly and Gossip Girl (2.2 million viewers) dropped a bit more in the ratings compared to last week.
• Last night’s 90210 ( 2.1 million viewers) stayed the same in the ratings compared to last week.
• For some reason, this week (both Monday and Tuesday) The CW only had 94 percent coverage instead of 95 percent. But I’m not sure how much difference that actually makes in the ratings. I’ve been told it was 94 prior to this season so it’s possible that will be the norm again.
• The CW sent out a press release, however, touting this week’s ratings for all 3 shows, as well as how the network did overall during the sweeps period as well for this season in general compared to last year.
• It was comforting to read the comments on EW.com’s 90210 recap and see many other original fans with similar complaints to the Jackie-Kelly storyline as I have.
• TV Guide Magazine has a spoiler-filled interview with Matt Lanter (Liam, 90210).
• Greg Vaughan (Cliff, Beverly Hills 90210) tweeted that his new role on 90210 will begin in January and that it is recurring.

• The CW sent out another press release saying that 90210, once again, had drastic improvements in ratings when DVR numbers are factored in.  One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl got bumps, too.
• All three shows are included in TVGuide.com’s November Sweeps Roundup, but it’s mostly just taken directly from the press release the network had sent out a week or so go.
• E! Online has a short but spoilish interview with Tristan Wilds (Dixon, 90210).
• Kellan Lutz (George, 90210) co-hosted a joint Halloween-New Moon event in Las Vegas this weekend.
• The CW Source posted podcasts for last week’s One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.

Havent vist com es va desenvolupar el judici de l’expresident Lluís Companys i tenint en compte els motius pels quals va ser afusellat, podem arribar a la conclusió que encara queden moltes qüestions per a resoldre i caps per a lligar, abans no es pugui aconseguir la nul·litat del judici de Companys. Caldrà seguir diversos procediments judicials i fer que, d’alguna manera, el govern central col·labori en la tasca de netejar l’honor de Companys.

Companys va ser una persona que, malgrat la seva posició de poder, no va ser ambiciós econòmicament i, fins i tot, durant el seu exercici com a advocat, es va dedicar a  defensar a aquells que estaven desvalguts encara que no li poguessin pagar, la qual cosa resulta admirable tenint en compte que procedia d’una família de classe  benestant.

Últimament, aquesta notícia ha tingut certa notorietat pel fet que el president del Futbol Club Barcelona, Joan Laporta, va participar en la manifestació que es va fer per commemorar el seixanta-novè aniversari de la injusta mort de Companys. És per aquest motiu, la presencia de Laporta, que la notícia ha aparegut en molts mitjans de comunicació en la secció d’esports, i no com a una notícia política  ni jurídica.

Companys havia dedicat la seva vida a Catalunya i també va dedicar-hi la seva mort, convertint-se en un màrtir per a la majoria dels catalans. Gràcies a figures com la seva, el foc de la cultura catalana es manté encès malgrat la forta tempesta del franquisme.

Per finalitzar, remarquem que haver realitzat aquest treball ens ha aportat vàries nocions d’interès jurídic i haver descobert l’autèntica transcendència de la figura de Companys per a la història de Catalunya.

Actualment, es pretén aconseguir que el judici que va condemnar a mort a l’expresident de la Generalitat Lluís Companys sigui declarat nul. Com que s’ha constatat el judici que es va realitzar a Companys fou totalment anticonstitucional, legalment és anul·lable.

La néta del president, Maria Lluïsa Gally, la família de Companys i la resta de persones que han sol·licitat que el judici del president tingui un valor nul desitgen, mitjançant la nul·litat del judici, restaurar la seva memòria i reparar la moral de l’expresident de la Generalitat de Catalunya Lluís Companys.

Els processos tramesos i a trametre

Tot i que ja fa temps que certs col·lectius pretenien aconseguir que el judici efectuat a Companys s’anul·lés i malgrat la promesa de Maria Fernández de la Vega de fa cinc anys de trametre l’anul·lació del judici, tot va començar a moure’s ara fa un any, quan el conseller d’Interior Joan Saura i la néta de Companys es van reunir amb el ministre espanyol de Justícia, Mariano Fernández Bermejo, per tal de demanar que el judici s’anul·lés. Tot i que Bermejo va prometre tenir un esborrany de la declaració d’il·legitimitat del judici contra Companys abans que haguessin passat tres mesos de la reunió, però el cas és que aquest document encara està pendent per a ser realitzat. Ara, amb la commemoració del seixanta-novè aniversari de l’execució del polític, s’ha aconseguit, si més no, que el president del govern espanyol, José Luís Rodríguez Zapatero, hagi enviat a la néta de Companys, que viu a Mèxic, un acte de reparació moral de Companys. Tot i així el govern de Catalunya ha proclamat, per veu del president Montilla, que això tan sols és un primer pas abans d’arribar a la nul·litat del judici. A més, la llei de memòria històrica espanyola, no s’ha aplicat encara als assassinats pel règim franquista.

Le he oido decir a Laia que era una sorpresita para mi cumple…

I have a confession to make:

I LOVE HILARY DUFF! Ever since the days of Lizzie McGuire I’ve been a fan. And when I say “fan” I mean “I cried at the Lizzie McGuire movie when she finally kissed Gordo.” Sigh. I also love her music, her style and her sister (but only in Napolean Dynamite). Anyways, it was obviously another week in Gossip Girl heaven for me when she finally showed up at NYU to buy Dan some gross street coffee. (I once heard there is lots of rat poop in those carts…but I digress.)

Duff stars as Olivia Burke, a young movie star trying to live a normal college life. Of course, the first person she meets is Dan Humphrey.  While it may have been slightly predictable, giving Dan another dramatic blonde girl to go after, I couldn’t help but smile as I watched the two of them have coffee. They were so cute, so happy. She’s Dan but with boobs and a great wardrobe…and a successful career as a movie star with a bitchy publicist….

If only we all didn’t know that Georgina is waiting in the wings to mess it up, Single White Female style.

Speaking of Satan Georgina, while she’s gone being all shady in Boston, Blair uses the alone time to wallow in self-pity, pining away for her days as Queen Bee. And I have to say – this was hard to watch. That’s our Blair - the strongest, most confident girl we all know – and she’s acting a fool. She reminded me of those kids from my high school who still wear their letterman jackets now, 3 years later. She looked pathetic heading back to Constance now that she’s a college girl.

Thank God Chuck intervened and reminded her who she was (and surprised us all once again by showing how sweet and caring and perfect he is. I want my own Chuck, dammit). I didn’t want to see Blair 10 years from now hanging out outside the school, buying the younger kids liquor and telling stories from her glory days… Instead, I’m going to see her and her 3 new friends (by far the best dressed clique in college history) take on the patchoulli-smelling, sandal-wearing student body at NYU.

I am glad to have my bitchy Blair back. The same bitchy Blair that clearly taught Little J well. Now that the older girls are gone Jenny is on top of the school, despite her attempts to ditch hierarchy and headbands. She can’t fight the need for some structure in the social scene and eventually takes her place on top. And girrrrl, it fits her better than that tight little number she wore down the red carpet at the movie premiere. Let’s just hope all that power doesn’t go to her tousled little head.

Oh, and we have to talk about Serena, don’t we? And that means we have to talk about crazy-eyes, Tyra Banks getting all up in my Monday night shiz. I swear, if Hilary Duff hadn’t been in this episode and if Chuck hadn’t given the “I told you I loved you and you can’t win over these NYU minions?” speech, I would be all sorts of angry. I don’t need to see Tyra in anything but ANTM – there are no opportunities on GG to smile with your eyes, so clearly this is not her place.

Anyways,  after finally informing her mother that Brown is not the place for her this year, Serena tries to get a job and discovers (shocker!) that you need a college degree to get one. She ends up falling into PR and working with the one and only Tyra Banks. Yeah, yeah – this was supposed to be some overly dramatic actress named Ursula, but she played it so well….

Too well.

Serena ends up learning some valuable lessons, blah, blah, blah, wears some cute outfits, blah, blah, blah, and that’s that. No Carter Basin. No sexy Carter Basin. What the eff is up with that?!

It’s OK, though; the episode ended on a high note and has definitely come back from its season premiere let down. I can’t wait to see Little J in power, Georgina’s return to evil and whatever goes down at the Lily/Rufus wedding.

Ausiello: Well, there’s no D&G in Monday’s episode. There is a fair amount of D&D (Dan and Duff, as in Hilary), and, I have to say, I don’t hate them together. I’m also kind of loving Chuck and Blair as an official couple. Kudos to Team Schwavage for doing what few TV writers have ever been able to — making an entertaining couple even more entertaining together than apart.

I disappeared on the night before Christmas. It was a dark misty night when I disappeared. When I woke up I found myself in a pitch black room. I looked around and shouted a couple of times, but nothing happened. Suddenly the door opened then slammed. I turned around but there was no one there. It looked like the room was getting smaller and smaller. My heart was beating frantically. Then a different door opened, and I saw a light flashing in the distance. I ran towards the light.I ran through the door, I closed my eyes hoping that it would go back to normal. I opened my eyes, and I was back in my bed. Then I heard my Mum calling to me, I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

     ” Georgina,” my Mum kept calling.

     “Mum I’m right here.”

Then a different girl came in, that looked exactly like me!

“But… but thats not me”! I shouted.

“Yes mother.”

“I dont speak like, I’m NOT that posh”!

“Would you like some breakfast.

I ran up to my bedroom, lay on my bed and started to cry. I couldn’t believe that my own mother could forget me! I tried to get to sleep but I just couldn’t, I kept thinking about what had just happened. Who was this girl? What was she? After a while I fell a sleep. Just then I woke up. What was I doing, letting this girl get away with this, I’ve got to stop her! Maybe it was just a dream, I walked back down the stairs. I got into the kitchen and tapped my my Mum on the shoulder. The weirdest thing happened. My finger went right through her shoulder!

“I guess it wasn’t a dream,” I said sadly.

Suddenly I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and goose bump started to appear. Then I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around but there was nothing there. I turned the other way and then I saw something in the distance. I walked towards it. There was a shadow standing right in front of me I ran to the door but I was to late it closed in front of my face. I screamed then I remembered that no one could hear me. I stood still for a moment. Then the ghost said something to me but I couldn’t hear what it said. I tried asking it what it said but it didn’t say anything.

El final de la 2º temporada quedo sin ningun misterio aparente, sin nada por lo que continuar en la 3º temporada, por eso el interés que podía suscitar podía haber hecho bajar el listón. Sin embargo la serie ha vuelto con más de lo mismo: sexo, avaricia y mucho niño rico.

Me ha sorprendido, para bien, que Blaire y Chuck todavía estén juntos. Pensaba que habrían tenido una regañina y se habrían separado hace tiempo, pero parece que después de todo lo que han luchado la pareja sigue adelante, de lo cual estoy totalmente de acuerdo. Serena parece haber llevado un plan para encontrar al padre que jamás quiere verla, y lo ha hecho haciendo famosa, muy de Nueva York. Todos entran en la universidad, y por fin algo bueno: las tornas se cambia. Nuestra malvada Blair deja de ser una anfitriona para ser la persona burlada de todos, y por el contrario su compañera Georgina vuelva con más fuerza que nunca. Y Nate, ¿qué comentar? Como siempre encima de una chica, y es que todo que lleva falta ha pasado por sus brazos… ¿se están repitiendo? Un punto a su favor es la entrada de Scott en escena de  la mano de Vanessa que poco a poco seguro que se irá introduciendo en el mundo de Dan.

Pero varias preguntas quedan en el aire ¿Dónde esta Lily? ¿Por qué ha dejado a Rufus al cargo de todo? ¿y dónde se ha metido Jenn? Después de todo lo que hicieron para destruir a Gossip Girl en anteriores episodios (season finale de la 2º temporada), ahora ninguno se preocupa por ello ¿es porque creen que la vida en la universidad será distinta o no les interesa a los guionistas continuar por esos derroteros?

And like any new adventure, starting college holds the promise of limitless opportunities. The opportunity to conquer a new territory. Or to try and be a little less lonely. But just because the opportunity presents itself, it doesn’t mean everyone is ready to take it.” (Just sayin’ )

Blair: “So you’re not in love with Jesus anymore?”
Georgina: “Oh I still hold him in my heart, but Jesus and I have redefined our relationship.”
Blair: “You mean he dumped you because he found out you were Satan!”

Semana passada voltou a série Gossip Girl com a terceira temporada. Eu, particularmente, não achei nada empolgante o primeiro episódio (Reversals of Future) que foi o maior embrometion [spoiler caso você não viu]: mostrou a volta dos riquinhos das férias de verão, as presepadas da Serena a fim de chamar a atenção do pai, Blair & Chuck no maior love is in the air, Nate e a nova namoradinha de família inimiga (Romeu & Julieta feelings) etc etc.

Antes de falar sobre o episódio novo, deixo a dica de um site excelente para puxar a série que é o Gossip Girl Download. É super completo e tem até os web-episodes da Dorota (Chasing Dorota) – não vi ainda. Também fica a dica do vídeo da promo do segundo episódio:

Esse segundo episódio deu uma melhoradinha, mas ainda está fraquinho em termos de “bafões”. A graça da série é justamente essa, certo? Se você viu o vídeo acima já percebeu que é a fase dos Upper East Siders na universidade. A Blair foi para NYU (New York University) assim como Dan, Vanessa e Georgina (yes, the bitch is back). Enquanto Blair planeja como continuar com seu reinado patético na universidade, a Serena resolve não ir para Brown (outra universidade) e vai para o apartamento do Chuck. Já Romeu e.., digo, Nate e Bree fazem um acordo de passar um dia juntos para se conhecerem melhor e assim terminar de vez o namoro proibido. Zzzz.

Para encurtar: 1) Blair e Georgina continuam naquela guerrinha fria de quem sabota a outra; 2) o pai do Dan, Rufus, resolveu bancar o bom padrasto e ajudar Serena; 3) o meio irmão do Dan (que ninguém sabe ainda) parece mais perdido que cupim em metalúrgica e daqui a pouco vai parecer gay de tanto mostrar interesse por ele, haha.

Romances: Chuck e Blair continuam na paz e amor; Serena resolveu se entregar de vez para o Carter e Dan está pegando Georgina.

Agora esperar o desenrolar da trama na universidade, as trocas eternas de casais, o mimimi de quem é o melhor, a encheção de saco que já está ficando do lance de um querer sabotar o outro o tempo todo etc.

Agora um comentário meio off-topic aqui sobre os atores. Para quem não sabe o Chuck (Ed Westwick) namora na vida real a Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), o Dan (Penn Bradgley) namora a Serena (Blake Lively), e o Carter (Sebastian Stan) namora a Blair (Leighton Meester). Ou seja, é um agarrando namorado de outrem no set. Acho que pelo fato de ter o lance “aí sou ator” não deve parecer tão estranho, mas sei lá, eu acho. haha
