So I’ve been monitoring the job postings the last few days on oDesk.com and Getafreelancer.com

So I’ve been monitoring the job postings the last few days on oDesk.com and Getafreelancer.com and have quickly realized that I would never make it as a freelance writer worker for the wages that are offered on these sites. I am dedicating to making my online writing career successful but I am not going to belittle myself to $1.25 per 500 word article. I know that my writing is better than that.

Hopefully clients in this industry will realize this is just like any other service and when it comes down to it, you get what you pay for.

It seems that most of these slave wage jobs are being won by teams of writers from over seas in countries like India which explains how the jobs are even able to be bid this low in the first place. I may keep an eye out for another week or two to see if I can find a “diamond in the rough” gig through one of these sites for maybe $5 an article but I refuse to go any lower than that.

In the mean time, I started my own blog on Unsigned Bands in the Tampa Bay Area. To get the ball rolling on this project I posted a Craigslist ad asking for submissions for possible candidates in my “Artist Spotlight” section of my blog. This is going to be the heart of the blog and hopefully once I get a couple spotlights up I will start to gain a following as the bands help promote on top of my own efforts.

I also plan on taking another look at Article Marketing as a way to make some initial cash as an online writer. I won’t get in to this too much because I believe that this deserves a post all to itself and will contain some really useful information for you. In a nutshell I am going to outline what Article Marketing is and how you can earn money for selling products for online vendors simply by writing articles. This is not a “Get Rich Quick,” internet scheme. This is a truly legitimate way to earn money online so be on the look out for that post within the next week!

And on top of all of this I also plan on creating my own personal website showcasing my best work (once I start developing my portfolio), and advertising my services. Here’s how I see it: it is not outrageous to charge anywhere from $15-$20 for a solid article written by an experienced freelancer. If Icharge $8-$10 an article for now, until I build a reputation and get more experience, I should be able to make a decent living assuming I am able to find steady work.

I’ll definitely be keeping you guys updated on all of my progress. For now my job is building my portfolio, extending my social network, and finding jobs that pay resonably!

One of the very genuine way of making money is freelancing, As in my knowledge there are around 50 different freelancing sites/platforms।Two of the top most are ELANCE and GETAFREELANCER (the rest you have to find yourself). You can go to these sites and can see the FAQ’s section. You will get the ins and outs, as again i am not providing here a step by step guide here. If you are an IT or computer professional then you can have a lot of work. But Don’t worry, as if you are not a programmer/coder, you can still make money. As i already mention that i myself is not an IT professional. I started my journey with DATA ENTRY, DATA COLLECTION, RESEARCH and some less technical projects which i won on my own using my consistent appraoch. As I believe you can learn many things just by seeing but there should be internal wish along with it. I am doing freelancing myself for about an year and have made a good reasonable money.

GooD LUCK to you for your journey towards online earning. I’ll hopefully be appearing again with some more ways very soon.

Do you have considered all your possibilities? If you are a writer, web designer, art designer, copy

Do you have considered all your possibilities?

If you are a writer, web designer, art designer, copywriter, translator, researcher or consultant (just to name a few!), there are plenty of online jobs available on the net to increase your residual income. You just need to go to the right places. For example, the ones where smaller business projects being outsourced daily!

A few Internet companies act like online agents between the seller (service provider) and the buyer, making sure via escrow accounts that money is only being paid after the job has been done or according contracts mutually agreed upon. Depending on the contract, guarantees can be given to complete the job. There are several ways these contracts can be constructed online, so for everyone is something that will fit.

Since those companies make their living by getting a small commission on completed transactions, everyone should read and compare the fine prints. Conditions vary and not all commissions are the same.

Note that because there are more parties available providing their offers than available jobs, bidding takes place every time. But not only your lowest offer counts, but also your experience, availability as well as quotes and points given by earlier parties in the game. And a little bit luck.

Yet, the outlook to get actually a job assigned is not very bad. And if you provide an outstanding work, you might find easily ongoing residual incomes.

Perhaps not enough to pay your rent, but for sure it is enough for an extra Pizza or to pay for school fees. In fact, depending on your working style and time assigned, you might even end up with a full time job paid by various sources – and everything done from your home computer only.

I’ve found an excellent writer after my first choice didn’t bother to reply back when I asked a little bit more in-depths questions. The writer I’m using now is from Europe, but the style, the English and the working attitude is perfect. I’m very glad about the right choice I made. I will work with that European writer forever, if possible.

Therefore, if you provided your initial bid, make sure you follow up any request. If not, why starting to enter the bidding arena at all? Outsourcing parties usually have about one month to make their decisions to accept an offer.

Said that, they can expect within the first 3 days up to around 20 requests for doing the job that need to be done so urgently. More often that not, they chose one of them for their project in their first bidding round and some even within the first few days.

If you want to participate (free registration is required), perhaps the most important places for you to visit are:

I realize we’re in a massive recession and times are tight, but this is truly insulting.

In my quest to find freelance work, I’ve come across a few sights for copywriters and the like to get paid for their craft: textbroker.com and GetAFreelancer.com.

Textbroker concentrates primarily on writing online articles for the purpose of SEO. To get started, you submit a 300-word article and it’s “rated” by the team of editors. Once you get a passing grade (I got a 4 out of 5), you can peruse the directory of articles and accept assignments that interest you most. The subjects range from technology to travel, business to real estate—pretty much every category of web commerce imaginable. All articles must be 100% original content and properly formatted with exceptional grammar. Sounds reasonable enough. The catch is you only get paid a couple of bucks per article. Pennies for every word. I tried one for a cell phone wholesaler and made a whopping $8.40. Sure it only took me about 35 minutes, but that’s not such a great hourly rate for a profession that used to be somewhat (dare I say) “respected.”

GetAFreelancer is even more humiliating as you have to vie against other desperate writers and bid for jobs. The lowest bid with the fastest turnaround time wins. Many of the job posts even say, “No experience necessary”, negating any hope I have of throwing my credentials around. Not to mention, a large portion of their articles are for porn sites and other shady operations which makes the entire process feel even more degrading.

Of course, given these sites’ popularity, there are plenty of so-called writers out there willing to undercut the craft of copywriting and work for pennies. Much like the extinction of the typographer, I fear this is a bad sign for my trade. Sure, there will always be a premium for A-list copywriters at top agencies, but this glut of online content and the “no experience necessary” crowd is slowly eroding the respectibility of the job. Being measure by a word count, as opposed to the quality of the writing, is just obscene. In these circumstances, there’s usually one person who gets screwed even worse than the writer: the reader.

Good morning. I want to say that I had a hard time getting some freelance work until I had 2 blessin

Good morning. I want to say that I had a hard time getting some freelance work until I had 2 blessings: 2 freelance tasks. The first task involved posting 5,000 yahoo answers and 2,000 twitter which I got the client from getafreelancer. Turns out there wasn’t any way for me to do this and I had to pay for the software to do it.

And another thing was I think you could get in trouble for posting that many. I was starting to think was this illegal or what? So, I thought I was gonna lose this task when my client who I was able to chat with him via Yahoo Messenger that he regret getting me the task and to see if I can just do 40 on Yahoo and not to worry about Twitter. So I tried to do it and that cost me 4 yahoo accounts and 3 were banned from over posting. I had to cancel those accounts and let the client know. Then he wanted me to do 30 Twitter which didn’t work out either. He was gonna pay me from $40 a day for 5,000 yahoo answers and 2,000 twitter to $10 a day for the last task. Then, since that didn’t work out, he gave me an easier task which turned out something I would not expect to do. He called it data entry so I was like ok since I loved doing data entry work. He wanted me to go to chat rooms he will supply and put a posting on them and block men who respond to it all for $8/hr for 4 hours, 4 days a week. I was like ok and was supposed to start the next day. So, the next day came and the client was online and told me he can’t have me to do the task because there was not enough horny men online. I was like what? You mean to tell me I have to do some adult posting stuff in chatrooms? I had to do it but tell him I could not do the job. I don’t care if the payout was $500 for the project, I will not do it. I don’t even feel comfortable doing something like that. So no more work for me with him.

The 2nd project was for this nice lady who I met on the Freelance Mom Forum. She wanted me to help her market this internet marketing conference for her and is going to pay me $4 per referral that responds to her phone number or email. So, I did the marketing and make it all worse, the expiration day of the event was April 30th! I had like 2 more days to get people. I got 1 but turns out it was some auto bot or something. lol. That time passed and still none, so no pay here.

I don’t know, everytime you get offered a nice project or projects, sometimes they turn out to be not what you expect them to be. I sometimes wonder why I end up with dead-end projects if I do end up with a project. I have gotten project invitations but don’t except them because they are what I don’t want to do or can’t do. This is something I might have to take in prayer to. I will just focus on better things in my life.

That’s it guys.

Note: This is a sticky because it would detail my savings goal for our October Boracay Vacation. It would be updated weekly so we can know the progress.

This is my savings goal ticker. Got it from TickerFactory. The goal is to save $833.33 until September 15 for our October Boracay Vacation. The bucks would come from my freelance projects. The starting savings is $36.67.

I started with a savings of $36.67 from my GetaFreelancer account. My client has made two payments the past to weeks. Last week, payment was for $24.57. This week he paid me $65.07. I had some change left in my GetaFreelancer account that’s why my total savings as of today is $90.36.

I am hoping to do around 50 to 60 hours of work every week for my freelance projects. Unfortunately, I am still adapting to the new schedule that’s why the freelance payments are not what I expected. If I cannot accomplish the goal, hopefully it would be close.

With the recession hitting full swing, a lot of companies are thinking how they can make a buck by paying less.

One good and tested way to make this happen is to outsource your work. The o freelance world has been there since the dawn of the Internet, whenever there is a demand, somebody is there to supply. Presently, the “buying” of professional services has been made easier and safer for both buyer and seller, with sites such as RentACoder, GetAFreelancer, oDesk, Scriptlance, Elance has made the Buyer-Provider relationship seem seamless.

Of course it’s too good to be true, and yes there are some risks involved when dealing with freelancers. So here’s a few tips on how to avoid some of the pitfalls in the freelance world and hopefully increase the success of you outsource deals.

Tips:

1.) Cheap is not always the best choice- There is no doubt that work made online or offshore is cheaper, but always remember that cheap bids from providers sometimes produce poor output. They might not be able to assure the quality they promised and may have little commitment on the project especially if the value of the project is low which holds little risk for the provider. review the skills and credentials of your candidates, weed out the dubious ones from the good ones, if the cost is cheap and the provider has good skills and track record then go for it!

2.) Take your time- There’s a throng of freelancers online. so whatever that needs to be done can be done, you just need to look for the right person to do the work. Almost all (if not all) freelance sites have their own rating system on providers, this is a good place to filter out the good apples from the bad apples, once you selected a group of candidates proceed on reading the feedback from their past clients this will give you a good idea on how the provider does business.

3.) Casual yet professional- A successful project is one that has constant communication between the buyer and the provider. Letting the provider know what you “really” need will boost up the chances for a successful project, I personally believe that communicating casually and dealing professionally can build a very good business relationship with the selected provider. remember that you need them and they need you so it’s good to keep things cool.

4.) Get updated- look for a provider who can commit a steady stream of updates to keep you posted on what’s happening. weekly updates are good but it really depends on what works for both client and provider.

5.) Where to look- Countries with an emerging economy are good targets for your search, places such as Philippines, India, China, etc are chock full of providers that are capable to deliver quality work at a very reasonable cost.

6.) Walk before you run- Start out a small project with a budget of a few hundred bucks and see how it works for you. Ideally, your first projects shouldn’t be time crucial and that your job or business doesn’t depend on it, so you’ll have the luxury to get accustomed with the system and how it works.

7.) If you fail the first- Don’t give up thinking that the freelance world is a basket full of rotten apples, there are a lot of talented freelancers doing content writing, programming, graphic arts, design and what not, that a lot of businesses around the globe thrive upon.

8.) If it doesn’t work out - Not all providers are professionals in their fields, and not all of them are professionals to deal with. A lot but not all of the freelance sites offer an arbitration system to protect the interests of both buyers and providers, so when the times comes that the project was not delivered as promised or the final output has an unacceptable quality, then you can ask the freelance site (that’s if they support arbitration) to mediate the project. in any case that the provider was found “at fault” then the project funds or a portion of it will be returned to the buyer (this applies to escrow funds).

So what are you waiting for? go and get started on outsourcing your work and gain more for paying less!

here are the sites I personally recommend
Happy Hunting!

I did not work on the project during the weekdays because of my schedule.

I work during the days which is bad because once I get home I am very sleepy. I am hoping that I would be assigned to the night shift next week so I can work on the forum posting.

I did about 18 hours of forum posting last week. I was hoping to do about 30 hours during the weekends. That would mean I would do forum posting 10 hours a day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Hopefully, once I get home today I can start some forum postings. The bucks that I would be making would go towards our Boracay vacation. The budget for the Boracay vacation is $833.33. At the moment I have $36.67. I have a lot of ground to cover but I have until the end of August. I know I can do it.

I am quite busy with my day job that I don’t have time for any freelance projects except during the weekends. I work during the day and as much as I would like to do some freelance projects for about 4 to 5 hours I can’t do it. My mind is willing but my body is incredibly weak. If all goes well, I would be on night shift next week and can do the freelance projects after I come back home in the morning.

Anyways, I did some forum postings over the weekend and earned $36.67 for two days work. Pretty silly money in the other parts of the world but big bucks here. I invoiced my client for that amount and hoping that he would transfer the funds not later than 12.00 Noon tomorrow so I can withdraw.

In the meantime I am planning to continue doing the forum posting projects everyday so I can earn and save some big bucks. I am actually saving for an October Boracay vacation with my family. Already plotted the budget and the subsequent earning map.

Even if I am dead tired, would do the forum posting project everyday.

Remember the forum posting project I told you about. The one that I am doing pro bono. There were tons of threads and discussions that needs to be rewritten because another provider did a copy and paste shortcut. Of course, Google crawlers found duplicate content. The webmaster does not want rewritten content and just deleted the whole forum so we can start over.

I have finished about 75% of the job. I received an email from my client to stop rewriting the forums. I was pissed at first because I am about 12 to 15 hours from finishing the job. But, on the other hand, I am happy because I would not continue cleaning somebody else’s mess. And the best part about it is I would get paid. Yipee!

Too bad, my posts were deleted so I would have to start from scratch. But that’s okay since this would be a long term posting project. What it means is I would have $85.00 to $100.00 per week for one to two months.Hooray!

Hooray! The WordPress client has emailed me and informed me that we would have a project for this week. The WordPress project is an easy project – simple cut and paste, insert images and correct tagging. Since he took some time for him to give me the assignment, I am thinking I would be doing around 200 to 300 WordPress blogs. That is a good number and would equate to between $50.00 to $75.00. I can do up to 300 WordPress blogs in about 9 to 10 hours. If I don’t have work I can finish it in a day. But since I work during the days, it would take me 2 days to finish 300 WordPress blogs.

We encountered problems with the forum posting project. Some of the service providers (not me) did a hack and slash copy and paste job from other forums. The client, of course, was furious and demanded that I moderate all posts and rewrite some of the crappy copy and paste posts. There are about 3,300 posts and the project could take around 3 to 4 days to finish. I am doing the forum posting project pro bono – free of charge. I have an outstanding relationship with the client and we have our freelance reputation on the line.

Hooray! Busy week and hopefully big bucks during Monday’s withdrawals.

I have updated my Earnings table. As I mentioned in a previous post, I made $50.00 for last week

I have updated my Earnings table. As I mentioned in a previous post, I made $50.00 for last week’s freelance work. I was hoping for more bucks this week. Unfortunately, that would not happen. Today is Sunday and I have $0.05 in my GetaFreelancer account.

Furthermore, two clients did not give me any projects for this week. In other words, no freelance payments to withdraw this Monday. The forum posting is on hold and the WordPress project is not yet finalized.

So sad. Hoping that next week would be different.

Finished the forum posting project for the week. Only worked for 2 days – Saturday and Sunday.

Finished the forum posting project for the week. Only worked for 2 days – Saturday and Sunday. Was able to invoice my client $49.00. Since I have some cents left in my GetaFreelancer account, I would be able to withdraw $50.00 tomorrow. Funds would be available on Wednesday. I have a negative balance on my card so my expected withdrawal would be around Php 2,0000.00. Not bad considering I only worked for two days.

Since I am working, I would do the forum postings before going to work during the weekdays. Would create user ids after work and then do the forum posting before going to work. Would be doing about 5 hours each day of forum posting on weekdays.

If my WordPress client would not give me projects, would devote the whole week to forum posting. Target for this week would be $80.00. Not bad but hopefully I can do the WordPress project this week as well.
