I’ve been meaning to comment about this since September, but I’ve been busy (and lazy).

So back in September, Obama passed a bill making it illegal to sell “flavored cigarettes”. As a Djarum Black smoker (on occasion), this broke my heart.

I’ve read two different reasons for the ban – 1) flavored cigarettes encourage underage smoking, and 2) most flavored cigarettes aren’t made in the US, therefore all the US gets is sales tax from the sale.

Here are the Smoker’s Hack arguments:

1) When teens start smoking, they usually steal cigarettes from their parents. What parents smoke flavored cigarettes? (Besides gay goth parents)

2) Flavored cigarettes are EXPENSIVE! If teens are going to spend their money, it’s going to be on cheap cigarettes like Basics.

3) If the US doesn’t like the import of these cigarettes, then they need to step up and make a good product. I love supporting the US – so get on it.

BUT – get this – MENTHOLS aren’t banned.

Why not menthols? Last time I checked – MINT was a flavor. Kools and ‘Ports are cheaper than cloves, easier to get than cloves, and more influential people smoke menthols than cloves.

When we say the word ghetto, we generally think of rap, thugs, and crime.  What we usually think of  is a modern economic ghetto, a neighborhood where all the poorest people live  and can’t afford to leave.

I would be bold enough to suggest however, that true introverts live in a social ghetto.   We don’t fit in and are forced to live as misfits and outsiders on the margins.  Most extroverts barely even seem to realize that we exist.  We are pushed aside into a separate ‘neighborhood’ where we live out an isolated existence.  Our state of existence is one of social poverty.

Growing up and even into college, I had to fight off resentment whenever extroverts complained about relationships and other forms of social connection I hadn’t even the luxury of aspiring to.   I understood that these people lived in another universe and that there was no way I could hope to make them understand that I had truly lived most of my life at the bare subsistence level.  Even if I could explain my situation to the other person, the response might be bewildered pity or possibly even contempt, but never understanding.  Part of the torture is that I couldn’t even really talk to anyone about my situation.

Over years, a lot of my energy had been focused on merely surviving.  It makes long term planning very difficult for me to this day.  Not long ago, I was bewildered whenever someone asked me questions about marriage, or having children.  That was all so distant as to be completely off my map.  The asker, usually a girl, would see my deer in the headlights look and conclude I was weird or just stupid.  To me, stable social relationships and settling down was a thing that the Accepted liked to talk about.  It had no relevance at all to my life.

Every encounter I had with normal people became akin to a clash of understanding and values sooner or later.  Usually sooner.  Our expectations of life were on different planets.  They were counting on a comfortable life and a family.  I was hoping for survival.  I could very well be in the same economic bracket as the person to whom I was talking yet clearly I was in some way impoverished.  Truly I lived in another place altogether from these normal people, a social ghetto of sorts.

On the internet, I’ve been discovering more and more people who grew up in the same neighborhood that I did and I’m enjoying it very much.

As a final note:

The first ghetto, Il Ghetto, was not an economic ghetto.  It was a holding area in the city of Venice where all the Jews in town were forced to live.  These Jews were often quite economically wealthy, but their social unbelonging led them to experience another, equally oppressive form of poverty.

50 Cent quand même tu connais ? Oui oui, ses clips bling bling, son film “Get Rich Or Die Tryin”, ses beefs avec The Game, Rick Ross ou plus récemment Jay-Z, le G-Unit, le rap new yorkais quoi. Bon, il a sorti “Before I Self Destruct” (BISD pour les intimes), son 4ème album, et les chiffres viennent de tomber, il a vendu 150 000 opus en première semaine. Moyen, très moyen. Il a donné un concert gratuit lundi soir à New York…parce que faut l’dire, notre rappeur est en manque de vitesse et il doit bien redonner aux fans un peu de substance pour qu’ils reprennent confiance en lui…  Tu penses bien que si j’en parle, c’est que j’y suis allée. Non pas que j’aime spécialement ce qu’il fait mais voilà, ça reste un géant du rap, je ne l’avais jamais vu sur scène, et surtout, c’était gratuit. Et le gratuit à New York, on AIME ! Je me suis donc tapée un petit concert de “musique hip hop” (comme dirait ma maman) pour commencer la semaine. 50 + 0$ + New York = ghetto assuré ! Ahaha !

Au lendemain de sa prestation à L.A pour les “Americain Music Awards” et à la veille de son départ pour Paris, 50 aka The Travelin’ Man a donné un concert MySpace à guichet fermé (puisque gratuit) dans sa hometown, New York City. Mais crois pas que c’était easy ! A 20h30, le Meat Packing District avait des allures de ghetto du Queens. Bizarrement, tout le monde était habillé pareil dans la file d’attente. Hoodie, capuche sur la tête, et Tim ou Nike (prononcer [Naïki] pour faire cainri) boots aux pieds pour les messieurs. Les meufs, fidèles à elles-même ont trouvé de bon goût de mettre leurs tenues de stars du X en déficit, avec une coupe à 500 E et des bottes à 1000 E. C’était pas joli joli. Et puis c’était la guerre pour arriver jusqu’à la porte d’entrée ! Limite, te faire fouiller par une femme mi-homme mi-autre-chose à la fin de cette attente avait des allures de bonheur. Bref, tu l’auras compris, fallait être motivé pour voir 50 aux pectoraux d’acier sur scène. Je l’étais pas tellement, mais je ne rentrerai pas dans les détails. Une fois à l’intérieur, je file à l’étage, table, resto et espace vital. Et je pousse le bouchon en m’offrant une mousse au chocolat blanc et couli de framboise. J’t’avoue que j’étais étonnée de voir un dessert appétissant sur une carte à NYC. Généralement au mieux t’as un cheesecake, sinon c’est du gâteau à la crème immonde avec 5 couches de génoise sans goût. J’aime trop la bouffe sucrée pour tolérer ça donc je n’prends plus de dessert depuis que je vis ici. Mais là, qui l’eût cru, c’était bon !

Monsieur le DJ d’Hot 97 nous ambiançait pendant l’attente et la salle se remplissait au compte goutte. Pas étonnant, vu le temps de la fouille pour chaque personne. A 22h, le DJ nous crie “If you’re ready for 50 Cent make some noise right now”. Ok, on fait du bruit, on y croit. Puis non en fait, il part en dédicace “Rest in Peace”. Vu qu’y a pas mal de morts dans le hip hop, on n’a pas fini. Aller hop, ODB, Big Pun, 2Pac, Biggie, etc… Puis il fait un shout out à tous les boroughs de New York. Tu penses bien que la foule se donne à fond quand il cite le Queens. Enfin, il enchaîne avec un big up à tous ses « weed smokers » et ses « alcoholic ». J’adore les concerts hip hop, l’ambiance est tellement…saine ! Ah bah voilà, Whoo Kid prend les platines alors que la batterie de mon appareil photo me lâche. Damn it. Le truc m’a déjà fait le coup. Moi qui voulait prendre des tofs du torse de 50 pour les agrandir et m’en faire des posters. Raté… La star du G-Unit daigne finalement entrer sur scène, T-shirt blanc moulant, casquette NY, Timberland aux pieds. Le même look que ses fans quoi. Il commence avec « I Run New York ». J’me dis heureusement que Jay-Z est pas dans la salle. Il l’aurait pris perso. Tony Yayo et Lloyd Banks sont là aussi. Tout est réuni pour une parfaite soirée G-Unit bien ghetto. Mais c’était pas mal quand même, j’étais agréablement surprise, j’me suis même mise à bouger les pieds sur “Baby By Me” en fredonnant le refrain par cœur « Have a baby by me, baby, be a millionaire ». De la chanson de michto dans toute sa splendeur. J’comprends mieux maintenant le pourquoi des tenues des femelles autour de moi. Elles veulent être millionnaires et vont surement aller faire la queue près de sa loge ! D’ailleurs à côté de moi j’ai 2 drôles de phénomènes. A gauche, j’ai la meuf sur pilotis qui a décidé de mettre ses mains à sa taille et de bouger de droite à gauche pour irriter ses voisines avec ses coudes. Donc toutes les 2 secondes je me prends un frôlement de coude par billoute. Relou. Dans une salle où respirer n’est pas facile, elle, elle est tous coudes dehors à gigoter ! A droite, j’ai une groupie sautante. Elle filme. Mais elle saute en même temps. Et si mes calcules sont bons, filmer et sauter c’est pas une bonne idée. J’ai peur pour le résultat de sa vidéo Youtube. Mais comme disent les inconnus, cela ne nous regarde pas !

Après 15 minutes de concert et quelques hits interprétés en accéléré, 50 décide que son show sera un remake de “Piège en Eaux Troubles”. Il se met à balancer des litres d’eaux sur ses fans. Ça devait être relou pour eux parce qu’il faisait même pas chaud quoi. Et Yayo, Banks et les 15 autres jeunes qui sont sur scène le font aussi. J’ai pas compris, mais j’étais très contente d’être à l’étage… Puis, petit moment clé : « Where’s my nigga at? » demande 50. Il s’agit duquel selon toi ? De Beanie Sigel bien sur, la nouvelle recrue du G-Unit qui a bavé sur Jay-Z y a quelques semaines. Les ennemis de tes ennemis sont tes amis, hein 50 ? Un peu plus tard, il regarde dans la foule et lâche sur un ton ironique, « Tiens je vois des visages familiers ». Il parle des flics. Il les cherche du regard un peu après sans les trouver, et nous dit finalement de faire attention, “nous sommes observés par la hip hop police”. Wow… Ça c’était une minute digne d’un film. Puis il enchaîne avec des vieux morceaux,  “P.I.M.P” (Il troque sa casquette contre un chapeau de pimp), “This Is How We Do”, “Hate It Or Love It”, “Just A Lil Bit”, “Candy Shop”, “Magic Stick”. Putain il en a des hits l’enfoiré. A 23h, les mecs de MySpace montent sur scène sans gêne pour enlever les kakémonos. Ça sent la fin. Ah bah oui, c’est la fin. Un peu brutale quand même. Merci,  au revoir.

Depuis l’événement, Fifty a été déporté dans votre (mon) pays, donc c’est vous qui allez vous en taper une bonne couche. Ça vaut le coup de le voir sur scène si tu es en manque de vibe ghetto. J’attends des retours sur le show du 27 à Paris les copains. En attendant, révise ton refrain “Have a baby by me baby, be a millionaire, have a baby by me…” Cheers !

I was on a Red Route on Thursday and two guys were talking to a girl about registering for classes. On Sunday afternoon in  a Fayetteville, North Carolina church, Manna Church, the world,family and friends said goodbye to Shaniya Davis. Shaniya had captured the heart of the world, after it was discovered that her own mother had sold her into bondage as a sex slave,to Mario McNeill, who brutally raped and murdered the little child.

More than 2000 people were inside the church to support Bradley Lockhart, Shaniyas dad, and the man who made the decision to send Shaniya back to her mother,after having raised the child for the full 5 years of her life,which directly led to her death.

“Don’t let God’s words and don’t let his actions get you down,” Lockhart told the packed congregation. “He did this for a reason.”

Shaniya Davis funeral was open to the public and was standing room only.Lockhart urged the 1,500 crowded into Manna Church and another 500 watching the service from an adjacent building to help the community’s needy, according to press reports.

As mourners filled the church, a photo display of Shaniya Davis was streamed on the overhead projector. Never before released photos of Shaniya were displayed. These photos showed Shaniya with her father, Bradley Lockhart and her siblings.

Lockhart said, “Shaniya, Daddy love you honey. And I know you’re gonna’ be waiting for me … I’ll see you when I get there.”

White doves were released at her graveside as the little child Shaniya was laid to her eternal resting place.

Boah, dieses Weekend war echt (g)krass. Zuerst haben wir uns Tegel getroffen, dieses mal bin ich sogar pünktlich gekommen. (wenn man die 30 Minütige Verspätung vergisst)

Danach mussten wir den Bus nehmen um auf Daniel’s Chiller Party zu gelangen. Tja und als wir gerade den Bus gefunden hatten; musste der natürlich abfahren, dann wollten wir noch einen anderen Bus nehmen, aber der fuhr uns genau vor der Nase weg (scheiß Busfahrer).

20 Minuten Wartezeit. Fick dich, also sind wir so ca. 2 Bushaltestationen gelaufen, eigentlich wollten wir noch zur 4. laufen,… aber da war so ein rießiger Wald vor uns, also haben wir es gelassen. Aber natürlich musste uns Kathrin wieder an Michael Meyers erinnern …

Aber man kann auch zu Viert spaß haben, nachdem wir ne Stunde auf auf Marco gewartet haben -_-” . EMOOOOOOO

Danach haben wir uns endlich in Bewegung gesetzt. Und sind zum See gegangen, da so “gechillt” mit unserem Freund Bong.

Dann haben wir noch alle zsm gerappt.

Hahha, nachdem wir uns ausgetoppt haben, sind wir um 2 Uhr zu Helena gegangen und sie hat uns dann Pommes gemacht mit McDonalds Ketchup

Dabei wurden wir dann natürlich von diesem Pedo Lindemann beobachtet.

Endlich haben wird dann gefressen und dabei Richter Alexander Hold uns angeschaut ,… und alle sind dabei eingeschlafen . ROFL

Dann bin ich irgendwie so um 8 Uhr aufgewacht und habe endlich den Fernsehr ausgeschaltet sowie das Licht. Helena und ich mussten aufs Badezimmer, also ab in die nächste Wohnung. Als ich dann im Flur auf Helena gewartet habe, hab ich so ein Dielen-knarren hinter mir gehört. Dann ein Tasten an der Tür und den Atem von… LINDEMAAAAAAN !

Iiih! Er hat mich die ganze Zeit, also während ich im Flur war, beobachtet ! DIESER PEDO ! .

Ich hab mich so geekelt gefühlt, dieser Alte Hurensohn :@

Dann sind wir schnell wider ins Bett gegangen und haben weiter geschlafen, so bis halb 11 .

Lan und ich haben dann im Bett gefickt. Scherz man xDD Nein eher wrestling und haben Bitch Fight und so gemacht. Lama Styler vs. ADELE ON3 .

Als sie dann gegangen ist haben wir uns langsam in die Küche bewegt und haben Frühstück gemacht. Als wir dann aßen, haben wir über Lindemann gesprochen, ey das war echt——- einfach nur EKLIG! Er ist voll der Spanner und guckt immer durch sein Türloch und beobachtet Leute, meistens ja Helena :/

Ok, danach haben wir natürlich die ganze zeit scheiße gemacht, also und ausgemalt das er vor der Tür steht. Kathrin ist immer aufgestanden hat die Tür aufgemacht , und mit DEO in die Luft gesprüht,währen sie die ganze zeit “YALLLAH” und so weiter geschrien hat xD

Und sie hat sogar voll laut gegen seine Tür getreten ! Das hat sie seeeehr gut gemacht xD

Als, Kathrin und ADELE ON3 dann los mussten, haben wir uns von Helna natürlich verabschiedet und Rotschopf hat Lindemann nen Drohbrief geschrien xD .

Ok paar Stunden sind seitdem vergagen. Ich sitze vor meinem NETBOOK und mache einen Einträg und esse irgendso ein scheiß

This is a story that is truly disturbing for me to report, but it has to happen.

The animal that killed Shaniya Davis must be put to death, the sooner the better is my preferance.I have no mercy for this person, Mario McNeil,or her terrible mother,and the people who supported them to be able to live this long.

I hope they all burn in hell for what they did to little Shaniya.

The AP reports that the 5-year-old North Carolina girl was raped and killed the same day she was taken from her home, according to an arrest warrant released Friday. Shaniya Davis was sexually assaulted and asphyxiated Nov. 10, the day her mother reported her missing from the trailer park where she was staying, according to the warrant.

Mario McNeill is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child in the warrant, which was issued after police said they collected hair and fibers, clothes, and a straw from his 1997 Mitsubishi Galant. He was initially charged only with kidnapping.

McNeill seemed nervous as he appeared in court Friday for a brief hearing on the latest charges. He nodded his head slightly to the judge’s questions but did not enter a plea. His lawyer, Allen Rogers, left the courtroom with his client and didn’t speak to reporters. He also didn’t return messages left at his office from The Associated Press.

The girl’s mother, Antoinette Davis, is charged with filing a false police report, trafficking her daughter and child abuse involving prostitution.

Her mother does not believe that her daughter harmed her child….so I say that they all should be thrown in jail with the general population.

She had to have known that her daughter is a pig, and was a danger to her defenseless little grand-daughter while she laid back and allowed it to happen.

She should be ashamed to support her vile and viscous daughter, and I suspect that she was a child abuser and molester, and she more than likely taught her daughter how to be one as well.

I hope they all die by the hands of the justice system.

Meanwhile, Shaniya’s father, Bradley Lockhart, appeared on Friday’s “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” where Winfrey asked him if he had anything to say to Davis. He told The Associated Press earlier that he had cared for Shaniya for several years but decided to give Davis a chance to raise her because she seemed to be getting her life together.

“Right now I just think it’s best that we let the justice system take its course,” Lockhart said on the show. “I try to keep my heart as pure as possible, and I’m sure one day I will be able to sit down and talk to her, try and understand what was going through her mind.”

All I can say is that I wish I could be a juror on that trial, because I would not hesitate to vote the death penalty for these cowards…

Everyone needs a good laugh and I am so glad Katt Box found its way into my hands to review.  I can not stop laughing after listening to Drinking With White People, Raggedy Bitches, Michael Jackson, and Insurgents.  Honestly the entire set is fantastic, but those are my favorites.  Warning, don’t watch these videos at work or around little kids, as there is a bit of naughtly language.

I used to be into Pokemon, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars. (Shit, I even played Zelda on the 64) I had a sense of humor but wasn’t out to make fun of people. I loved women but was always molded to think that was a bad thing. I was compassionate and, even though I couldn’t hide it from my peers as well as I had initially hoped, I was smart. But, to my peers, these interests were hardly ever considered acceptable (let alone celebrated) for a young black male. If you weren’t athletic or a fighter you weren’t anything. This is sad because from about the 5th to 11th grade I would actually succumb to this bullshit every fucking day. But why?

Looking back, I notice that my early interests required you to posses at least one of three things that should have been encouraged but were not in my community.

-Things not to have if you were black in my community- (understanding the unspoken messages we send)

There are many black folks [especially youth] debating, arguing, and even dying over a gargantuan misinterpretation about our [black folks] culture that links authenticity to geography. This misunderstanding makes one believe that if he/she is black, he/she must vow an ultimate commitment to the ghetto. The crisis lies in the fact that we delineate the ghetto as the solitary black home of the black theme which cannot be abandoned at any cost. This identification of the ghetto as the black “home” is unhelpful and very self-destructive.

Perhaps this is what my associate meant when he told me I was "selling out"

Out of this develops this “keep it real” frame of mind that castigates any exodus from an incurably limited image of black life, one that trades on stereotypes and separation anxiety, since there is an immense fear of (selling out) being severed from the fertile ground of the true black self. But to succumb to this bullshit believe in this way of thinking is to be woefully misled. Yeah sure, the splendor of a desire to remain real, hood, or authentic is altogether understandable:

To protect a black identity that has been assaulted by white supremacy through the assertion of a uniquely guarded and qualified black self, rooted in a similarly protected view of the authentic black home.

Plus there are too many blacks who have “made it” and surely forgotten “where they came from“.

But there is a huge difference between critiquing blacks who have been Aframnesia-ized* and imposing rigid views on black life of how and where blackness erupts, emerges, materializes, and comes into view. That’s how we end up with vicious mythologies and punishing unspoken bylaws: Like the validation of the black male assault on black female interests as the obligatory subordination of gender to race in the pursuit for liberation. Or that the only real black is in the ghetto, a ghetto that in the eyes of mainstream white America rarely looks like the multifaceted, problematical, and paradoxical place it truthfully is.

As a former tenant of the the bottom ghetto, I unreservedly agree with the concept that we can neither disregard its people nor abandon its social revitalization through strategic action. But you mofos should understand that it is not only a beautiful thing for one who has gotten out survived the ghetto, to carry the consecrated likeness of its enlightening dimensions in his/her heart and mind, but it’s also just as beautiful to pledge to never leave the ghetto behind even as they travel millions of miles beyond its geographical boundaries. I mean, it is, after all, a transferable proposition, a mobile metaphor, and an itinerant figure of speech.

But im fucking tired of my peers (and even some folks who may be somewhat wiser older) seizing on the most limited possible view of ghetto life and sanctifying it as the be-all and end-all of black existence. That leads to kids killing each other in the name of an authentic real ghetto masculinity that that is very little more than a pathological self-hatred. The black ghetto working class, the working poor, and the permanently poor have always been more multifarious, and more resilient, than they have ever been given credit for. We have got to avoid the trap of existential narrow-mindedness and ethnic infantilism and see our way to a robustly mature and established vision that shatters the prototype paradigm of the authentic black self and, by extension, the suitable black home.

BACK OF THE Q FLYER

Just about a week ago there was a massive hype about the new call of duty modern war fare 2 (mw2). i would call my self a pretty big gamer and i was pretty hyped about it but i couldnt realy afford it to be honest (PS3 rules btw fuck xbox 360 and fuck bill gates lol ) But I was probably more hyped for back of the q at russian bar with P money and blacks. I have seen blacks and p money live at frisco’s eyes on you launch party at the old blue last sponsored by vice and Boxfresh a few months back.I already knew about p money but i didn’t really know a lot about blacks. It was the first time ive ever heard them live and they killed the set so that’s when I got into blacks. I got to the russian bar quite early. i GOT I.D’D the bouncer was like have you got any I.D but I was like “no but I’m 18″ (LOL). MY mate NIYI spoke to the bouncer and said
(NIYI) : He’s 18
(Bouncer) : Are you the dad ?
(NIYI) : I know his mum !
(Bouncer) : Are you his dad ?
(NIYI) : YEAH I AM ! Cant you see the resemblance , Look at our hats!

So it was early and it would obviously be empty at that time so niyi took of a picture of me just writing a way like a proper journalist.

Matty the shop keeper done a sick set. Every tune he played was a BANGER. THE DJ after him was playing alot of good funky house and was doing quite enetertaining set. so me and my friends decided to go to the macbeth. we was there for a while. We were running late so i was anxiously running back to the Russian to see P money and blacks set.

I got back in time and i think they came on a bit late so i was pretty relieved I didn’t miss any thing even though i was like 5 minutes late. when i got back to the venue was quite full and quite a few grime heads were there aswell. I saw P money before his set wearing a og’z t shirt ( og’z is his crew which blacks is in also ) So I said hi to him and blagged a interview with him after his set. I really couldn’t wait for the set to start. spyro was banging out pure grime classics which a true grime head would appreciate and Skank it out and playing such classics such as jammer murkle man , Ghetto top 3 selected , Boyy better know duppy and Chipmunk who are you. so while i was writing away a few people came up to me and wa slike “why are you writing lyircs” and saying “dont write my bars in a rave are u serious”?. I was so surprised and thought it was hillarious that people where thinking that i was writing bars when spyro was duppying the decks.DId they think i was sum stupid wigga or something ?,What a par lol.

Just before the set,This so called “rude boy” came up to me and was like “why are staring at me?” I said mate “im not staring at you !” im used to this shit anyway. so finally p money and blacks came on and jumped on to the mic straight away and got down to business as well and the set was actually realy sick and realy hyped and spyro on teh decks was just the icing on the cake. and a surprise guest little dee made a appearance but only sprayed a few bars p money said his infamous phrase “what did he say! ?”

P MONEY’S MOST WELL KNOWN TRACK : WHAT DID HE SAY ?

p money and blacks were actually dominating the set and you could tell they were putting 100% effort and it really showed .There were a few random guys just jumping on mic and were literallly taking the show lol. The set and the instrumentals reminded me of the Logan sama, P money and blacks kiss fm set they done a few months ago.The HIGHLIGHT of the night was when spyro put the space ship riddim.IT probably got one of the best crowd responses that night. basically the space ship riddim is probably one of the best grime instrumentals ever. I realy dont think anyone would obeject. The most notable mc’s that have made tracks over this beat are President T, Tempa T, JME, Skepta, Jammer, and NU brand flex.

The energy absorbing set i caught up with p money and walked out side the venue and got caught up in the rain and p money said to me “can u write and walk ? ” I responded saying yes. So we were walking away from the venue and the rain was just demolishing all of my notes so I asked p money a few questions.
