Since it debuted in October of 2008, the Travel Channel series “Ghost Adventures” has taken viewers to roughly two dozen creepy locales. And Remington Arms in Bridgeport is definitely one of the eerier places they’ve visited, series executive producer Daniel Schwartz said. “This one is right at the top,” Schwartz said of the former factory on Barnum Avenue. “It definitely earned its keep in the pantheon of ‘Do not put me in that place.’ “In June, “Ghost Adventures,” which puts a team of paranormal investigators at a different spooky spot each episode, taped an installment at Remington. The episode airs at 9 p.m. Friday, and, though Schwartz refrains from ranking the episodes, he said Remington was definitely intimidating. That’s saying something. “Ghost Adventures” has visited places as varied as the Poveglia Island in Venice, Italy, and Ohio Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. At each place, paranormal investigators Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin are “locked down” for a night and roam the premises, looking for evidence of the unknown. Though they all have different stories, the locations visited by the “Ghost” team have one thing in common: stories about spooky, unexplained activity.Remington Arms definitely fit the bill. Once one of the largest ammunition factories in the world, the Barnum Avenue site was no stranger to tragedies. These include a 1942 explosion that killed seven people and injured 80 others. The buildings at the site have been closed for years, and they have become a popular hangout for the area’s homeless, said James Myers, a Bridgeport police officer and paranormal investigator. It’s also been a hot spot for reports of odd activities, such as moving shadows and disembodied voices. Schwartz said the stories of the unexplained, combined with the site’s tragic history, made Remington a perfect “Ghost Adventures” locale. ”It kind of has the stench of an unhappy place,” he said. During the hourlong episode, Bagans and company interview local historical and paranormal experts, including Myers. They then spend the night at Remington, with some unsettling results. We won’t spoil it here, but suffice it to say that there are plenty of things going bump in the night at Remington. Myers, who investigates the unknown under the name 826 Paranormal, said it’s unclear whether the strange happenings at Remington are the result of ghostly visits or human intruders. But even if Remington isn’t haunted, it is spooky. ”It’s an old building,” Myers said. “It’s a creepy building, and there are stories to go along with it.” The Remington Arms episode of “Ghost Adventures” airs Friday at 9 p.m. on the Travel Channel.

Last night was interesting.. Galavanted around the country side. Took my Gal to see her Gfolk in hospital. In Murdoch. Then to Cannington to get money out. Then to whoop whoop land to meet a boy. And what a Boy he was.. 2nd date is tomorrow.. We ran out of time to talk. We have more in common than most people I know and the same crazy sense of humour that others don’t get.

For example, it made me create my own MLIA, lame I know but I’m getting better..

~~Last Night, I went on a date with a guy. I was explaining how I vacuumed up spider webs whilst singing Ghost Busters after reading it on MLIA. He got excited and proceeded to lift up his shirt, displaying an authentic Ghost Busters belt. Second date? I think so. MLIA~~

So yeh, not getting all giddy or excited about it or anything. We shared a nice kiss. I don’t judge people often, but I do by how they kiss. And he Kisses good, and has messaged me about a million times today. I’m not complaining. And I’m also not going to write anymore about it on here. I’ll Jinxed it. And tomorrow I’m meeting his pet sheep. Excited much?

The Cat in the Hat และเรื่องที่ถล่มทลาย Box Office ไปไม่นานนี้ เรื่อง Where the Wild Things Are

I had only recently watched the movie on TV before I played this game. Contrary to most of the gamer

I had only recently watched the movie on TV before I played this game. Contrary to most of the gamers I’ve talked to about this game, I absolutely loved it. You really do feel like you’re in the movie. You are the new recruit along for the ride with the original Ghostbusters crew. The voice acting was done by the actors from the movie so it’s completely authentic. I especially enjoyed Bill Murray’s character. All of the memorable ghosts are there. Stay Puft was fun to battle along with the old lady in the library. It was interesting to learn why she was stuck there.

.

The controls were fairly easy to pick up and remember. You are outfitted with a proton pack that weilds multiple electron assaults against enemies. Naturally you learn the different funtions as the game progresses. You can also purchase upgrades for each function. I found it akward feeling at first trying to put a ghost in a trap, but once I did it a couple times it was fairly easy. Different ghosts are vulnerable to different functions from your proton pack. You follow paranormal echoes and ghosts with your handy dandy PKE meter. You also use the PKE meter to identifity what kind of entity you are dealing with. Your equipment can easily over heat but I found that I wasn’t releasing the pressure most of the time and it was doing it on it’s own. Overall the equipment was identical to the original Ghostbusters duds and easy to work with.

The goal and premise of the entire game is to track down ghosts, demon, everything paranormal and trap them. You go through plenty of locations and battle a variety of spooks. All of the memorable characters from the movie are ready to open a portal to the next demension and it’s your job to stop them. I did feel as though I hardly used some of the upgrades of the pack towards the end. The slime tether proved useless against ghosts. The last level was too long in my opinoin and the final boss fight was pretty easy. I would play it again to get the rest of the trophies. Overall I would say that it surpassed my expectations. Games based on movies are hardly ever good, but this was a nice change.

I didn’t go too much into the multiplayer. I only played a few games and the controls seemed akward. You didn’t have all the options that you do in the campaign with your pack wich was dissapointing. It was defintely different than any other MP game that I have ever played and it gave you a chance to keep playing without the campaign.

Replay Value: 6/10

Graphics: 8/10 for cut scenes, 7/10 for actual game graphics

I would rent this game, and not buy.

It’s Halloween! Got your costumed, alter-ego-ed, shadow-self ready? Here, on the reservation

It’s Halloween! Got your costumed, alter-ego-ed, shadow-self ready? Here, on the reservation, we embrace this night with unbridled passion. It is a match made in heaven. Or some other dark place that must not be named. Santa Cruz is the revered home of the Mystery Spot. And Halloween is the ancient tradition of All Souls Day cloaked in modern garb. Tonight the orbit of the spirit world drifts closest to the supposedly safe and secure boundaries of our more mundane, material one.

And at some point tonight, you’ll give away all the candy, turn out the lights and say goodbye to the ghosts, goblins and lost entities prowling around outside your door. You’ll go to bed assuming everything is snugly tucked into its cubby until next year.

But…once you’ve lifted the veil on another world, is it really as simple as putting the Ouiji Board back in the box?

Ever have a strange feeling when going into a particular room ? Ever feel at odds with your house as though you were having a personal disagreement with it? Does something about your home make you depressed? Do you have trouble concentrating? Getting things done there? Ever walk into someone else’s house and get the immediate urge to leave?

As a Real Estate Agent, I walk into dozens of strange environments on a regular basis – catching brief snapshots of people’s lives in the process. During some visits I get what I can only describe as a psychic picture of people, their routines and more… through the tiny camera nestled behind my third eye.

Homes often exude emotions like sadness or anger. There can be a sense of confusion or ambiguity present. Certain places feel cold, sterile, bereft of life force just as others feel warm, joyful, delightfully balanced and life-affirming.

So what is this all about? Is it just about good or bad taste in home decorating? Great staging versus left-over shag carpet and avocado green appliances dragging people kicking and screaming back into the psychic wormhole of the “me” decade? A cat litter box that hasn’t been changed in six months? Too much rap music being played? Or way too much potpourri polluting the atmosphere?

Yes it can be those things, but no, it can also be a whole lot more than an eerie doll collection, strange acid-flashback color choices or embarrassing boudoir photos plastered all over the walls.

Prospective buyers pick up on the subtle and not so subtle vibrations and ghostly whispers of unseen presences most homes hold. They may not always recognize exactly what they feel but they usually sense that it goes beyond an allergic reaction to Country French decor.

Suspend your disbelief for a moment and consider. Most of us clean our homes everyday We vacuum, organize closets, fold clothes. Put things in order so they are well-balanced. Recycle so things can be used again.

If there really is a dimension of unseen energies overlapping the more tangible world of material things in our homes, why don’t we put down the lemon pledge, forget about the dinner dishes and spend more time cleaning, rearranging and recycling all the accumulated dust balls of “dirty” energy piling up under our noses? How about a regular day of housecleaning dedicated to putting scattered energies in their proper place, getting rid of tricky energies someone could easily slip on and recycling tired old energies so they can return in a more helpful form.

We’re not talking dust-buster, the quicker-picker-upper or the amazing Ronco miracle mop here. We’re talking about finding the right approach to your own psychic house cleaning. One that combines a finely-tuned radar, an empathetic nature, strong personal boundaries, a modicum of common sense, the ability to summon will and intention and of course, ready access to a rolodex of spirit helpers to act as subcontractors in the cleaning/clearing process – each with different skills useful for handling different kinds of energy shifts and delicate spirit situations.

We are born, live and die in our homes. We experience life’s trials, tribulations and transitions in our homes. Houses hold our lives. They are also containers for the different, sometimes strange energies that enter our lives. Physics tells us that energy cannot be destroyed, Energy can only move on or change form. Psychics tell us the same thing.

If you are still feeling a little haunted even after the sugar and adrenalin rush of Halloween wears off tomorrow and you happen to notice some odd energy hanging around in the back of your closet, under the stairs or behind your favorite lazy boy chair… take some sage-advice: Do a little smudging and then put in a call to your favorite local shaman to help you with the house work.

I haven’t even started planning what I’m going to do for Halloween. I still have a wig and costume (pirate) from last year that cost me a whopping $140 and after attending 2 very boring parties, I swore never to spend that much on a costume again.

I did come in 4th place, though and I won a ugly green mug, that I hide in the back of my cupboard because I can’t stand looking at it.

I’m saving it as a Christmas gift for someone I don’t really like.

What Is Mediumship?

Mediumship is being aware of the vibrations of spirit beings, and receiving messages from them. It is the communication of a deceased loved one through an intermediary. The information is then given to those who are grieving the loss.

The main purpose is to provide recognition of continuing life after the physical death, and to send love and encouragement.

Connecting with the crown chakra (or seventh energy system) at the top of the head, a bridge is built to the higher levels or planes of existence.

By building this bridge, an association is made with visions, imagination, and spiritual awakening. It enables you to empower your spiritual path. This opens you to integrity in becoming responsible in your communication dealings.

Association with the higher realms also plants a firm foundation for the connection with finer vibratory entities and spirit teachers. Lower level energies will not be attracted to you, since you have established your connection with higher vibrations.

Other reasons spirit beings open communication with the living are to give evidential information only acknowledged by those still in the body. They create outward activities perceived by humans in a physical manner. These activities are often recognized as paranormal activity. They manifest in physical form to be identified.

Mediumship involves cooperation between a living person and a person in the spirit realm. This entails either communication of some kind or physical manipulation of energies.

Mediumship is divided into two categories: mental (communication) or physical (energy manipulation).

[ We'll only explore the Physical Mediumship here in the excerpt. ]

Physical mediumship is done with the use of physical energy. It is done under control as in the mental mediumship, but usually much deeper. The spirit manages the transformation of energy into physical objects, movement or sounds. A paranormal event occurs in the physical, and can be felt, heard or seen by humans.

This form of mediumship has to be the most unusual demonstration of what a spirit entity can do through medium control.

There have been far too many contrived and deceitful examples of the séance event. Because of that, many people discredit the entire concept of mediumship.

The spirit entity operating for the evidential séance uses both mental and physical energies of the medium to create a physical manifestation. This is something all sitters in the experience can witness physically.

The physical medium is one who has an over-abundance of a magnetic and etheric energy emanating as part of the aura/energy field of the individual. Usually, while the medium is in a deep trance state, the spirit being uses this etheric energy and creates ectoplasm.

If you have ever seen the movie “Ghost Busters” or any ghost-laden, scary program, you have seen a filmy or cloudy emanation coming from or around an entity, spirit being or ghost. This is the best representation of ectoplasm available.

Although the medium’s etheric energy is the main source for the event, usually more is gathered from the sitters. If the energies are good, a large amount of ectoplasm is formed to work with. It takes full attention of everyone in the séance.

The use of personal, auric energy (full of emotional and feeling experience of the each person) is a main ingredient for this operation to be successful.

This is why the sitters in the séance not only experience the event, but actually become part of the event. It can be a very dramatic demonstration of spirit manipulation.

The medium gives consent to be used by the spirit being, by going into the trance state. The spirit is now in control of the work being done and can manipulate the ectoplasm to create phenomena.

A medium can produce physical phenomena because she has an abundance of this etheric energy (ectoplasm). It is a part of the subtle energy body that allows us to emanate as humans.

In a physical medium, this subtle body is more loosely attached than in most people. (More on this in the chapter How You Can Talk to Heaven and How You Can’t)

There is no limit to what can be done through physical mediumship, as long as the proper conditions are held in the séance room. These physical phenomena can range from rapping, levitation of objects or people, lights, independent writing/painting, direct voice (spirit speaks without the medium), and partial or full materialization of the spirit people.

I have witnessed and became part of many séances…

~~~~~~~
…oops…can’ reveal it all right here! You’ll have to buy the book to read everything.
Don’t be upset, there will be more excerpts soon. In the meantime, read more in http://www.PsychicIntegrity.com
This afternoon we went to see Aliens in the Attic. My expectation of kids movies rides pretty low to the ground these days – but I found it rather entertaining – especially a corker line early in the movie.
Cool, blonde haired cousin says to uncool, dark haired cousin about parents, “They’re wired differently to us. Their brains were fried by 80’s music.” It seemed a rather poignant (and potentially offensive – not sure which yet) after spending the past 24 hours singing The Ghost Busters song with my five year old son.
Dylan and I watched Ghost Busters last night. He’d been waiting weeks to get his hands on it after we bought my Dad a Ghost Busters t-shirt for Father’s Day at the start of the month. Dylan was intrigued by the symbol and wanted to know more while we were shopping. The first thing to spring to mind was to sing the song (and can still remember without googling it – that Ray Parker Jnr sang it) It wasn’t’ long before we were doing a duet and he was bugging me to remember more of the words.
A few things struck me, 25 years on, about Ghost Busters as we were watching it last night.
How bloody young every one looked – Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Rick Moranis and Dan Ackeroyd.
How much hair both Murray and Ackeroyd had.
How Ackeroyd, Murray, Weaver and Moranis went onto bigger and better things (I guess if you count the Honey I Shrunk… series as bigger and better for Moranis?) while others of the cast were swallowed up never to be seen again.
How much smoking there was in it- everyone bar Murray and Weaver seemed to have a cigarette jammed between their lips.
How basic the special effects are – especially the demons – and how I didn’t even notice any of that the first time I saw it. Unlike Indiana Jones, the special effects are really dated.
How little the melted marshmellow at the end looked like melted marshmellow and how it suspiciously looked more like shaving cream.
What I didn’t know about Ghost Busters was:
Ackeroyd wrote the original screen play but budget limitations meant it became the story we all know today.
The screen play was re-written with Harold Ramis in a bomb shelter in Martha’s Vineyard over three weeks.
The original characters were to be played by James Belushi (who died while the script was being finished), John Candy and Eddie Murphy. Candy and Murray were unable to commit.
Harold Ramis never intended to play Egon but after considering different actors – including John Lithgow, Chevy Chase, Christopher Walken (now there’s an Egon I would have loved to have seen) and Jeff Goldblum – it was decided he knew the character best and he stepped infront of the camera.
The Ghost Busters song spent three weeks at #1 on the American Billboard Charts and Huey Lewis sued Parker Jnr for plaguerism.
The Marshmellow Man was in the original script of Ackeroyds but in a different time and space.
Sadly I got Ghost Busters 1 and 2 mixed up and was disappointed to discover the Statue of Liberty was not going to walk through New York City. How ever the Marshmellow Man remains a classic.
Ghost Busters was released in June 1984. While I didn’t see it until years later on video I remember spending New Years 84/85 in the bedroom with my sister and our older friend Steven listening to the Ghost Busters song on tape over and over again (probably why even after 25 years my lyric recall is pretty damn good) – when we weren’t hiding around corners laughing at people scooping up french onion dip, into which we’d put a flattened bug.
One could argue it wasn’t just the music from the 80’s which warped and rewired our brain cells. Plenty of the blame has to be directed at the movies we devoured as teenagers. Or is it impossible to separate movie from music, given the influence that each has on the other?
