I know Glenn Beck is busy coming up with new, insane propaganda to spread verbally and visually (perhaps in a new spelling-error filled diagram?); so it’s understandable that he wouldn’t have the time to sit down and write a book; but I find it amusing that he’s not even listed as the author of his own book. If I were as crazy as Glenn, I’d probably start generating some major conspiracy theories about just “WHO this Kevin Balfe character is and WHY he’s trying to indoctrinate us through written word,” (all done in a crying, rant-y, hysterical, muppet voice ala Beck) etc… but I’m not that creative. Come to your own conclusions

It’s about time ghostwriters got their due. Congrats, Kevin Balfe (whoever you are), you managed to write a book that so accurately encapsulate the tone of Beck’s fringy, crying theories, that you were able to convince his audience to actually buy a book! Bravo.

No, this is not Hallowe’en. Ghostwriters aren’t that kind of ghosts; but in a way, they are. A ghostwriter is someone who takes on the voice and writes the book of someone else’s story. He/she often does not take any recognition in the publication of the finished book; but often, comes away with an income of around $100,000 a year. A chameleon with the ability to not only camouflage with its surroundings; but also, can expertly statisticize the story heard into a fabulous production.

You didn’t think an author could produce all those books in one year. Tell me, you didn’t realize that a famous singer or actor could write like a professional. There’s no way we can be fooled this easily. Yep, it wasn’t the actual author’s name that’s on the book who actually created such a publication…instead, the book or novel was created by a ghostwriter. And if this book was done extremely well, chances are, it was written by the expert ghostwriter Claudia Suzanne.

What Are You Grateful For This Year?

Although I love writing about info-products and writing, I also love to write about what’s going on

Although I love writing about info-products and writing, I also love to write about what’s going on currently during the time of year. At this time of year, I especially love to write about gratitude because I know and understand the power of the attitude of gratitude.

I use this daily because it’s the antidote for complaints and excuses. If I’m complaining that I don’t have enough work, I turn that around to say I’m grateful for the work I do have. If I’m complaining that I don’t want to go for a walk because the weather is cool and cloudy, I just remember to be grateful that it never gets much below 50 degrees in Southern California. If I make an excuse that I don’t have time to exercise, I remind myself to be grateful that I work for myself and my time is my own.

If you’re complaining about the economy, be grateful you have a job. If you’ve lost your job, be grateful you have your health. If your health is suffering, be grateful for your supportive family. There’s ALWAYS someone or something you can find in your life to be grateful for.

Do you see how this works? Gratitude can turn the negative into a positive. And from all my years of reading and study, I’ve learned that a positive grateful attitude is more likely to receive more good things in life than a complaining and blaming one!

You can say your gratitudes every morning when you arise or just before going to bed. You can write them in a gratitude journal and read them every day. Or you can share them with a good friend over the phone or email.

So what do you have to be grateful about? How about your great family members who you don’t often take the time to tell them how much you appreciate them? Or your special friends, colleagues, or employees? What about being grateful for your car, your cat or dog, your house, and your healthy body? Sure you may be 20 lbs overweight, but everything is working.

Gratitude forces you to turn away from what you don’t really want to spend time focusing on and to realize that you really don’t have it all that bad. If you can spare a few minutes, I’d love for you to leave a comment and let everyone know what you’re grateful for this year.

HAVE A HAPPY AND HEALTHY THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY!

Happy info-products profits,

The 40th Anniversary of Sesame Street has NPT Media Update Children’s Programming Correspondent and Sesame Street enthusiast Erin McInnis thinking again. This time, it’s about the plethora of OTHER great PBS children’s shows over the years. She’s compiled her favorites. Let the reminiscing (and debating) begin!

By Erin McInnis

Sesame Street kicked off its 40th year yesterday, sponsored by the number 40 and the letter H (I choose to believe the “H” is for “Happy Birthday”). If you didn’t know that Sesame Street was experiencing a milestone this year, you must be living under a rock. Even if you didn’t know an exact date, thanks to a multiday parade of Sesame Street Google images, appearances on daytime shows such as Today, and articles dedicated to the show’s relevance and staying power, Sesame Street is once again part of the public conscious. Not that the show has ever really not been, it’s just pushed to the side, particularly for those of us who don’t have small children in our immediate everyday lives.

There is no denying the staying power, the charm, or the relevance of Sesame Street. But all this attention has me thinking about all the other great children’s programming PBS has had over the years. Many of them obviously will not have the staying power of Sesame Street — how can a couple of seasons compare to generations of influence — but they carry on Sesame’s tradition, educating thousands of children in literacy, science, math, history, and literature. In honor of Sesame Street’s 40th Anniversary, I have come up with a list of what I feel are the top 10 PBS children’s shows of all time, present company excluded and in no particular order, of course. I’ve dug up clips for each. Feel free to correct me or add your own!

Ghostwriting a 300 page manuscript, on average, takes 3 to 4 months to complete. And while the time and dedication needed to complete a book seems out of reach to most, turning into a recurring New Year’s resolution, there is hope: me! From the initial concept meetings, through development of the project, to a finished manuscript that is polished and ready for publication through a Print On Demand service, I help people fulfill their goal of getting their book written!

As an example, the fee for a 300 page, non-fiction project starts at $25,000.00.

Please contact me for a quote on your project and to check on my availability!

An open secret throughout the ages, Ghostwriters have been used by executives, professionals, celebrities, politicians and kings to control their mythologies, their legacies, and secure their moments in history. They know that “writing” a book requires a level of dedication that they cannot afford to give lest they take their eye off their own tasks… They know that their time is too valuable or too limited for them to dedicate the weeks, months, and sometimes years needed for them to be able to finally get their book written…

They have known that which you now know; Ghostwriters are the enablers of the written word.

20% due on signing; 20% on delivery of detailed outline, 20% on delivery of first draft of a sample chapter, 25% on delivery of first draft of entire manuscript, 15% on delivery of revised manuscript.

All required travel expenses (at the current, per-diem IRS Rates for food, hotel, mileage, and if required, airfare) will need to be pre-paid by the client prior to leaving San Diego. Travel time is billed at $45 an hour, and is due weekly on Fridays. Typically, pre-approved travel is needed for interviews and for research based on the client’s needs and/or requests.

Open to discussing temporary relocation for duration of project, both nationally and internationally.

Signing of a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is a standard business practice (and the occupational hazard of being a Ghostwriter).

If you’ve never heard of a tips booklet, you’re missing out on one of the coolest ways to impart information quickly and simply. Any product that shares information, like a book, ebook, ecourse, or CD is an info-product. A tips booklet is generally a 16-page 4” X 9” booklet that has a series of tips listed by number or bullet point for quick reading. Typically, they’re called 101 Ways.. or 77 Tips…, etc. Topics range from organizing and dating to pet care and stress reduction. Just about anything you can write an ebook or book on you can digest into a tips booklet. You can create the booklet in a paper format and mail it to buyers, or you can sell it as a digital file like an e-book. In this format we call it an e-booklet.

On Wednesday, November 18, at 6 pm PT, I’ll be interviewing Lynette Smith of www.GoodWaysToWrite.com on her process of creating her first series of tips booklets. All her booklets will be on the topic of good ways to write personal and professional communications. Her first series of 4 booklets are marriage-themed with titles like “Good Ways to Write a Treasured Letter to Your Groom When You Marry.” There’s also one to the bride, to your parents, and from the parents to the child getting married.

What’s so exciting about tips booklets as an info-product is that you won’t just sell it to consumers one booklet at a time. These info-products are perfect as promotional items or advertising specialties. Just like businesses use pens, calendars, or mugs as give-aways to favorite customers or for promotional purposes, these booklets can be sold in bulk to businesses that need a promotional item. Lynette will discuss this as well as how to create a tips booklet during my interview.

Happy Info-Product Profits,

As a writing career coach, Tiffany Colter knows a thing or two about the publishing business. Tiffan

As a writing career coach, Tiffany Colter knows a thing or two about the publishing business. Tiffany, can you first begin by telling us a little about yourself?

Wow, this could be a long answer. Not because I am bragging, but because the road to being a writer is a rather twisty one, as all of us know. I will just stick to what is most relevant to your readers. I am a ghostwriter and a writing career coach in addition to working as a freelance writer, columnist, speaker and book author. A ghostwriter, as many of your readers know, is someone who writes a book using someone else’s material in that other person’s name. Many times this will be a speaker who will ask the ghostwriter to consolidate their speeches and put them into a book form. Other times a person may be given only the raw information (interviews, stories, articles) and then asked to write the book for the person. This is necessary when someone may be an expert in a certain area, but not particularly good with writing craft.

A writing career coach is someone who works with aspiring writers and helps them improve their craft and develop their platform. There is more to writing than simply creating a story. I go beyond writing coaching, because I talk about platform. I go beyond career coaching, because I teach craft. I am a unique breed called a Writing Career Coach.

And when I’m not a Writing Career Coach, writer or speaker I am a wife and mom. I have an awesome husband, four adorable daughters, and our mini-farm. On a single acre we own 50 laying hens, a rooster, 3 dogs, about a dozen barn cats, and 6 ducks. It’s a good life!

How did you get started as a ghostwriter?

Actually it is a funny story. I was studying writing—I have wanted to be a writer since I was six—and started learning about writing articles. One of the lessons taught how to contact magazines about selling a story idea. I did that and got a regular writing job in exchange for a detailed byline and occasional ad in the paper. That opened up a couple of opportunities to go on assignment for a national magazine. From there, I strengthened my craft. About a year later, my pastor contacted me and asked if I could help on converting a series of messages into a book. That was the beginning. I realized how much fun it was to do that and started to market myself as a ghostwriter. It was hard work, I had to chase jobs when things didn’t “fall in my lap”, but it was that pursuit of projects that led to the birth of Writing Career Coach. For writers out there who are waiting to be discovered, don’t fret. Nothing is wasted!!

I’ve often seen books by celebrities and wondered if the famous person actually wrote the book themselves. Is the ghostwriter’s name ever revealed when in fact the writer has done all the writing behind the scenes?

Sometimes they are. If you look inside of Put Your Dream to the Test, by John Maxwell, you’ll see he has a writer on the acknowledgement page of his book. It says, “Thank you to Charlie Wetzel, my writer, Stephanie Wetzel, who proofed and edited the manuscript, Sue Caldwell, who typed the first draft, and Linda Eggers, my assistant.” [Put your dream to the test, p. ix] John Maxwell is an excellent speaker and presenter, but he wanted excellence in every area so he allowed these others to take the information that he [Maxwell] had learned and put it in book form. This allowed him to maximize his effectiveness and maintain focus in his strongest area: leadership development.

At other times the ghostwriter is truly a phantom known only to the “author” and the publishing house.

How do you as a ghostwriter gather information from the person whose book you’re writing?

I gather information from the person I’m writing for primarily. If that person is a public speaker I’ll get copies of their talks. If they’ve written articles, blogs, or newsletters I’ll take information from there. If they have notes, I ask for those. I also try to talk to the person so I can get a feel for their voice and tone. As a ghostwriter you WANT to be invisible. You want to have people who have heard the speaker not realize the book their buying was written by a ghostwriter. To do that you must take your ego, your goals, and your wants out of it and say “how would XXX say this?”

Since I also write novels this is not particularly hard for me. I simply see it as a character in any of my other books. I learn about the person and write in their POV.

Is it hard being the anonymous writer of a book where someone else is considered the author?

Early on it was. When I was just starting out and was desperate for bylines I cringed when something went out in another person’s name. Now I realize that ghostwriting is a job just like any other job. My mom was an executive secretary for decades and not one thing she did was ever recognized outside of her company. Her job was to make her boss look good. That is my job too. I have become comfortable in my role of providing a service to someone else and a stream of income for my family.

That doesn’t mean I don’t benefit from ghostwriting. I learn so much about various topics, different ways of looking at life, and different styles of writing that all of my writing is richer because I ghost books. From one book I learned of the inner workings of presidential politics, from another I learned a bit about investing, from still others I learned about a set of issues from the perspective of a conservative and a socialist. I was able to explore all of these different topics, and be paid to do it.

If I’m doing a good job as a writer a person shouldn’t read a novel I wrote and think “Tiffany Colter…Tiffany Colter…Tiffany Colter…” the same is true when I am ghostwriting. The reader should be so caught up in what they are learning about that they don’t think about the name on the cover of the book: whether it is mine or someone else’s.

What advice would you give a writer who is considering ghostwriting?

Get good at writing. Learn to market yourself. Talk to people who have done it. Don’t overbid and don’t underbid. Don’t over commit (sure, I can write a 60,000 word book in a month…No, you can’t!!) and don’t assume it is easy.

One last question for you, Tiffany, before you leave us. Since this is a humorous storytelling blog, can you tell us the name of a book that made you laugh out loud?

Hmmm, this isn’t a book I ghosted but one book I read that really made me laugh was by Phil Vischer, Me, Myself, and Bob. It tells of the true story of the dramatic rise and fall of the VeggieTales. There was another I just read this summer that had me laughing so hard I had tears running down my face…but I’ve totally forgotten the name. I read 1-2 books a week, so it is an occupational hazard.

It Shouldn’t Be This Easy to Make Money Online – But It Is! Internet marketing rule numb

It Shouldn’t Be This Easy to Make Money Online – But It Is!

Internet marketing rule number 1 – don’t make making money online hard. I’ve done some consulting over the years and coached internet marketers, and I’ve found one thing – they love to complicate their business.

By the time they come my way, they has this fangled, convoluted business model that makes me vomit just thinking about it.

No, that won’t work. We need simple, simple models built on simple, simple systems. Here’s my business model that I use for all my stuff.

First, I start with lead generation. I have a system for getting leads to my website. I focus on the “big 3″. At all times, I have three different ways to get traffic to my website. I do it through articles (like this one), joint ventures with people who have lists, and with pay per click advertisement. I spend a part of my day getting traffic to my site.

Second, I take that traffic and build an email list with it. This is the formula I use every time. Traffic comes to my page. I offer them something of value for free – either a report, a video or whatever. To get it, they have to sign up for my list. Every day I’m checking my sign up rates and tweaking things to make improvements to get more people signing up for my list.

Third, I send them messages every few days that do three things – give them more value, help to build a tighter relationship between them and me, and to promote my products. I have two products – a cheap product and an expensive product.

I market my cheap product on the front end to make some upfront money. Those who buy my front end product then go through another email series where I try to sell them my more expensive product.

The final module of my business is to create and offer additional products to my list, based on their feedback.

It’s not complicated, because it doesn’t have to be. A long time ago I realized that when I was cashing my checks at the bank, nobody was giving me extra money for doing things the hard way.

Now, do you think I have systems for each of these steps, so I can do them as efficiently as possible, as quickly as possible and to get the best results as possible? You bet your hat I do.

So here’s what you need to do to succeed online. First, develop a very simple plan. Heck, use the same plan I use. Second, systematize every process within that plan, so you can do it without even having to really think about it.

One of the best ways to get targeted traffic to your site for free is with article marketing.

I’ve perfected an article writing system that has literally changed people’s lives and has cut their article writing time down from 1 hour per article to 7 minutes. To learn this article writing secret, go to http://www.7minutearticle.com

How To Create Information Products Effortlessly – And Not Feel Guilty About It

It’s really not that hard to create a really good information production that you can sell for $47 or more a pop. In fact, it’s really simple, if you systematize it.

Here’s how I do it – I first look for the ten main points related to the topic I’m writing about. What I want to do is answer the ten most pressing concerns or solve the ten most pressing problems that my target audience faces.

So, each of those ten problems becomes a chapter. Then I have an introduction chapter and a conclusion chapter, for a total of twelve chapters.

After that, I begin to outline each chapter. I keep it simple, because I use the same outline technique for each chapter. First I start with telling them why they should learn the information that I am going to present to them in this chapter. I tell them how learning this information can empower them in certain ways. I also show how it can help enhance the relationships they have with others.

Finally, I tell them why learning this information can boost their self esteem and give them a feeling of accomplishment if they follow through with it and make positive changes because of it. That’s usually good for the first page.

After that, the next part of my outline is presenting the information. I first start with the major concept for that chapter. I tell them what the exact intent I am aiming for by giving this information. Then I give them principles to back up my main concept – in other words, I explain to them why it works before I tell them how it work.

Then I simply give them a step by step process for getting the results. This is “what” they need to know in order to get the results they desire.

After I give them a step by step action sequence, I go back through it and highlight potential sticking points. I then offer remedies for those sticking points so they don’t get caught up and have trouble following through.

After I do that, I then tell them what they can expect to achieve in the real world once they master the concept I have presented in the real world. I try to give them a case study of someone who has already achieved those results, so they can know what to expect.

Finally, I show them where they can apply the information in the chapter to, and where they should avoid it. Then, I close out the chapter and move on to the next one, where I repeat the process.

By following this simple outline, I can crank out products at will in a very quick time. But the good news is that my outline forces me to create high quality products!

However, the best products in the world won’t sell if you don’t get targeted traffic to your website.

Internet Marketing for Lazy People – Product Creation Secrets

It’s so easy to create information products that you can sell for $7, $27 or even $97 that it’s laughable. Everyone should create their product, and I don’t know why so many people who do internet marketing don’t have one.

I actually have a “product idea generator” checklist I use to create products on demand. When I use this checklist in combination with a very specific outline I’ve developed, I’m knocking out products in as little as one day – or in some cases a few hours.

One of my favorite products to create is a “Done For You” product. These can include website templates, squeeze pages designed to get people to sign up for your lists, or so on. The idea here is to create something that is a push button solution.

How easy is this? Hire a few freelancers to do some graphic design and web design for you, get an article writer to create some content for cheap, and then in a week you have a complete product you can package and sell.

Too much work? Okay, how about this. On my book shelf I have a whole bunch of “self help” books. If I wanted to enter the self-help market, here’s what I’d do. First, I’d pick a sub niche, so there wouldn’t be much competition.

Then I’d find every author on amazon who has a book written related to that topic. Then, I’d just get their contact information and call them up on the phone. I’d present them with my business plan on how I’d like to do some teleseminars with them, and then give them a portion of the sales.

Get nine experts together, and now you don’t just have a teleseminar – you have a full fledged course. Hire a transcriptionist, and convert the calls into an ebook. Or better yet, have someone make power point videos out of the calls, so now you have a “video course”.

Then, when you sell them this the course, when they are checking out offer them a two month free subscription to your membership site. That’s another instant product you’ve created. The great thing about doing this is that you don’t even have to have any content in your membership site yet. Just get them to sign up, and then afterwards, create the content. If they stay around for two months, then start billing them.

If you’ve built up an email list, offer a private, 30 minute consultation for $50. Instant service. Then, get permission to record the call, bundle a bunch of the calls up together, and sell that as a product. Instant product.

I have a list of 27 product idea generators that I always look at when I decide I want to create a product. You should develop your own list as well. Just look around and see what the big boys are doing, and take notes of the different types of products they are offering.

One of the best ways to get targeted traffic to your site for free is with article marketing.

Create a High Quality Info Product in Less Than 2 Days Here’s my secret formula for banging ou

Create a High Quality Info Product in Less Than 2 Days

Here’s my secret formula for banging out information products in an instant.

In the Beginning…

Not too long ago I decided I’d quit trying to game the system with tricks and fancy “one-off” marketing that only worked until technology changed. Besides, none of that stuff made me money.

So I sat down and said: ”What’s the number 1 skill that would make me money… no matter what the economy does… no matter what happens to me personally… no matter how technology changes… no matter what!”

The answer to that is simple:

Creating high quality, valuable content!

High quality content is the best way to market yourself. You only have to look as far as the latest, most successful product launches to see they all share one thing in common… they used good, high quality content to get the market place in a frenzy.

High quality content is essential for product creation. If someone buys your product, and it changes their life…
Then You’ll Have A Customer For Life!

All great info products require one skill… good writing.

How to Become a World-Class Info Publisher

Writing sucks!
It’s hard, confusing and just takes a long time. At least, that’s what I thought. Actually, writing is easy once you have a system that…

eliminates writer’s block

prevents procrastination

organizes your information into easily digestible chunks

forces you to write without having to pause to think…

Really, those are the only things that prevent you from being a world-class info publisher. If you removed these stumbling blocks, then the content will practically create itself.

How To Get Raving Testimonials From Your Freshly Created Info Products

Why do 95% of people who buy information products never act on them?

Are people just lazy? Stupid? Afraid to try something new? All of the above?

I believe that’s part of it. But here’s what I contend – the reason why most people don’t act on information is mainly because of one reason:

Most information publishers simply do not know how to present their information in a way that makes it easy to act on.

In other words it’s your duty to create a product so easy for someone to act on it, they’d feel like an idiot if they didn’t.

However, it’s hard enough for most people to even create a product… much less do it in a way that optimizes the learning process for their readers. Well, my technique for shortcutting product creation not only makes it easier for you to create high quality products at will.

It forces you to present your information in a way that guarantees the maximum amounts of readers will take action on it… and get great results!

When I first created this system, I used it to invade and dominate tiny niches. In a panic attack subniche, here’s how it was done:

The first week of each month I have my list fill out a survey where they ask me their two most pressing questions.

The second week I create a report focused around the most common question my list asked me in the survey. Then I sold that report to my list. I marketed that product until the end of the month.

Then each month I repeated the process and created a new product.

Talk about easy money.

I’ve also used these techniques to:

Create free reports that include affiliate links. I then submit these reports to “JV Giveaways”, sites like Butterfly reports (where others market my reports for me) and other sites where people get my free reports and end up buying something through one of my affiliate links.

Create reports that build my list for me — you can’t describe the feeling of entering into a new niche Monday morning, creating a “free report” by Monday afternoon and tossing up a squeeze page Monday night using that free report to begin building your list immediately. I do it all the time.

Create PLR Products – I then license the master rights to these products to other marketers. It’s a good way for anyone to make quick money if they’re in a pinch.

Create my own products that I sell from anywhere between $17-$97

I recently got back from a huge 4 day internet marketing seminar in Austin, Texas. What I found there where two groups of people – those making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on the internet, and those who weren’t making anything.

There were very few people in between.

It’s a real eye opener to witness first hand the difference in behavior from those who make a ton of money online, and those who don’t. Without a doubt, there is one huge difference between success and failure. I’d like to share this behavior trait with you so you can make a ton of money with your own online business.

The first day of the seminar I sat next to a very nice, older couple that were struggling online. The problem wasn’t information. I’d later find out that they had bought a ton of courses and products on how to make money on the Internet. In fact, some of those products ran in the thousands of dollars.

Yet, for all the products they had purchased, they still hadn’t done the simple basic things. For example, they hadn’t created any of their products. They hadn’t built a highly targeted list that they could market to. They didn’t have a website which had been updated within the last two months. Nothing.

Their problem is that they never took any real action. The single biggest mistake that keeps internet marketers poor is lack of action.

On my plane ride home, I was reflecting on this with a very successful distract manager for a retail grocery chain. I was explaining to him that in internet marketing, you have a million choices. There are tons of excellent business models you can follow to make money. But which one should you choose?

There are a ton of different ways to create your own products. Which products should you create, and how should you go about doing it? Which markets and niches should you target? Should your headline be in blue or red, and what font should it be in? What about price point?

What I came to discover was that the couple next to me was so overwhelmed with choices that they couldn’t make any. A lot of people fear making decisions, because there is a great chance they might make the wrong decision.

Don’t fall victim to this mentally. Just act. No matter what the decision is, I only give myself 60 seconds to ponder it before I take action. If, after 60 seconds, I’m still not sure, I’ll flip a coin. Because here’s the huge secret I’ve found – It’s easier to correct a wrong decision than to make the right decision the first time around.

All the people who are cranking serious money on the internet take action quickly and on a consistent basis. You need to do that as well.

I’ve systematized a process for taking action and creating a product you can sell for money in under two hours. To learn about it, go to http://www.24hourreport.com

Also, for a limited time I’ve arranged two other special bonuses for you, one that has a very real value of over $90. Click here before this offer is pulled off the market.

How to Become an Internet Ghost Writer How would you like to earn as much as $40 per hour, working f

How to Become an Internet Ghost Writer

How would you like to earn as much as $40 per hour, working from home and calling your own shots?

How To Get Paid What You Want

Being a freelance copywriter can have its perks. You are your own boss. You can work from your home. You can work in your filthiest clothes and not have your colleagues writing a petition for you to take a bath.

You call the shots! No irritating colleagues, no boss breathing down your throat. Most of all you can dictate what you earn.

But most copywriters sell themselves short.

I’ve seen this happen so many times — gifted copywriters who should be earning twice or even thrice what they are getting. New copywriters usually just ask for the minimum or just let the client dictate how much they are going to get paid. Isn’t that how you’re supposed to start?

Here’s what every starting copywriter should do:

First ask yourself:
“How much would I like to make an hour?”

The idea is to “reverse engineer” your business, so it suits you. This is much better than letting others set your prices for you. Once you know what you’re willing to work for, then you create a specific plan to achieve that figure.

Here’s how it works:

1. Come Up With Your Ideal Hourly Figure
2. Calculate Your Average Article Writing Speed
3. Determine if it’s “doable”
4. If it isn’t, increase your APH and/or EPV

Click here to know more about increasing your APH and EPV.

How to Earn Top Dollar Fees Writing Articles

The faster you work, the more money you’ll make. It’s that simple.

The average ghost writer gets paid between $3.50 and $6.50 per article. But you don’t want to be “average” do you?

The reason those fees are so low is because most ghost writers don’t know a damn thing about perceived value, or how to enhance their own. So they’re forced to cut their prices to stay competitive!

I can tell you first hand people looking for ghost writers take a lot more into consideration than the fee you charge.

Why? Well, many people find out if they pay $5 per article to a ghostwriter, often times they have to go back and edit the articles they receive. Time is money of course. To spare themselves of wasted time and headache, they’re willing to pay more if they are confident in their ghostwriter.

You can build that confidence with the right perceived value enhancement techniques!

Also, you need to position yourself to attract a certain quality client. Ideally you want to only work for people who have good, proven marketing systems that allows them to make “$X” per article.

So these clients don’t bat an eye when you quote them prices of $10 or $12 per article… provided that you have the right “perceived value”.

As you can see, if you increase your article writing speed and the amount you can charge per article, you’ll exponentially increase your dollar per hour figure.

However, none of that matters if you can’t get any clients.

How to Get Paying Clients

If you’re like me, you like instant results.

Here’s are the top 3 prospecting methods that you can use to snag paying clients in your first 24 hours of business.

The PLR Membership Method – locate and approach PLR membership site owners, and get them interested in partnering with you.

The “Forum Search” Method -use forums to get people who are desperately looking to pay a ghostwriter – any ghostwriter – for service!

The Referral Method -build a referral funnel into your ghostwriting business to make your clients much more likely to send other clients your way.

Want to know the answer? Click here to find out.

Obama saved the country from the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, but his true ties to radical ’60s Weather Underground bomber Bill Ayers have been exposed! A completely reputable conservative blogger yesterday dropped this shocker: He ran into Ayers at an airport, and Ayers confessed to writing Obama’s autobiography, Dreams from my Father. So that father Obama was dreaming about? Turns out it was Ayers’ father!

So there you have it, 100% proof that despite claims the two barely knew each other—and by some accounts actively kept their distance from each other—we now know that Obama and Ayers are brothers in book-writing (and possibly terrorism). Obama may have saved the country from the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression, but Bill Ayers ghost-wrote his book!

UPDATE: Bill Ayers did not ghost-write Obama’s book. Turns out the guy was very (very, very) obviously being sarcastic when he confessed, but I’m sure it was an honest misunderstanding.

I went to a party about a year ago and when a woman asked me what I do, I told her I was a freelance ghostwriter, author, and speaker. She nodded and then asked “Do you like scary stories?”

I had to explain to her that a ghostwriter doesn’t write stories about ghosts or necessarily scary stories. Anyone else who may be a little confused, let me clarify that ghostwriters are hired to work with a person who has a good idea, a message, or information that they want to write into a book. They either don’t have time to do it themselves or can’t write. So, ghostwriters like myself collaborate with them and assist them in writing their book.

In cases with high profile clients, a ghostwriter has to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Sometimes, the ghostwriter’s name is given with the author’s name. For example, Don Piper with Cecile Murphy (90 Minutes in Heaven). Most of us work annonymously and are paid a flat fee for our work. Then, we move on to another project. It can be a very lucrative career.

Hope you’ll come back tomorrow to find out more about this life as a ghostwriter.

“That would help the college fund,” my husband said, as news of Sarah Palin’s inevitable book deal

“That would help the college fund,” my husband said, as news of Sarah Palin’s inevitable book deal was announced on the cable news show we were watching and one of the guests wondered who might ghostwrite it.

Dennis was kidding. He knew that living with Sarah Palin’s collaborator would be nearly as morally indefensible as being Sarah Palin’s collaborator.

Air-typing on my air-keyboard, getting in touch with my inner Tina Fey doing Palin, I recited: “Today I woke up and made myself a cup of joe–’Can I call you Joe? I said to my coffee cup– and winked–and looked out across—what was that body of water again?—looked out across the whatchamahoosy Sea—or is it a just a river?–and saw Russia from my house. I thought to myself, oh wait, I don’t think, do I? Now, Collaborator, if I did think, what would I think about?”

“People who live in glass houses…” Dennis was referring to my geographically challenged mind. Yes, I am the person armed with both a MapQuest printout and a GPS who can still get lost. Hopelessly, completely, pathetically ending up in the wrong county lost. But hey, I didn’t run for the vice presidency. And I can see the Potomac from my house. Sort of.

Now Palin’s ghostwriter has been named. We’re in the usual spin cycle of the Washington memoir story. The life of the spin cycle goes something like this: First we have the rumors-of-the-book-deal story. Sometimes we have the book-proposal-leakage-by-unnamed-NY-publishers story. Then we have the book advance money story: so and so got so much for his book deal, compared to Bill Clinton/Hillary Clinton/Colin Powell, etc. for his/her book deal. Then we have the he/she can’t really write his/her own book story and therefore we have the possible candidates for ghostwriter story followed by the re-hashing of ghostwriters-for-the-stars story. Then we have the leaked galleys story. Then we have the “author” doing the talk shows story. Then we have the controversy and if there is backlash then we have the “I didn’t write that part, my collaborator wrote it” story.

Ghostwritten books often suffer from the fact that they have a manufactured rather than an authentic quality. I should know, I’ve worked on enough of them. But in this case, a little inauthenticity might not be a bad thing. My advice to Palin’s ghostwriter: write, baby, write, but whatever you do, don’t channel Palin.

Who’s on your team? What you don’t have one? Why not? If you read my last blog post, you’ll see how

Who’s on your team? What you don’t have one? Why not? If you read my last blog post, you’ll see how hot I am on the topic of building a team around you so you can build your business, whether it’s a brick and mortar business or an Internet marketing business.

So how do you decide who you need on your team? And how to you find the right people?

Initially, I say: what tasks do you have in your business that you just CAN’T do and what tasks do you have that you don’t WANT to do? What don’t you have the time for and what don’t you have the knowledge for? These are the tasks for which you need to find others.

For example, what I CAN’T do is anything technical. I’m no good when it comes to things like putting up a website or learning new software. I don’t have the knowledge and I don’t want to learn it. What I don’t WANT to do are mundane tasks like maintaining my database or sending out newsletters and emails. I don’t like doing it and don’t have the time. So for these kinds of tasks, you could hire a webmaster, a tech guru, or a VA. I found a VA who can do all these things.

Another area where I fall short is marketing. I don’t enjoy it all that much and can’t always find the time for it, since I’m busy ghostwriting and copyediting for my clients. But I know ongoing marketing keeps a business alive. So, for marketing I rely on JV partners, business associates, past clients, referral partners, and strategic alliances. They’re all sending me referrals on a regular basis.

How do you find the right people for your team? It takes time and lots of trial and error! I went through four VAs before I found the right one. The first four either disappeared or didn’t perform their duties on time or ever! The current one, with whom I intend to have a long-term relationship, was referred to me through the owner of the autoresponder program I was reviewing. She’d been trained in the program, so I knew she would be an expert in handling my database, emails, newsletters, affiliates, and shopping carts.

Initially, then, I would say referrals are your safest way to build your team members. Then you have to judge for yourself if the person fits your needs and expectations. I’ve also built my team through experience and personal exposure. For example, my strongest business associate and alliance has come through the professional organization I belong to, PWSD (Publishers & Writers of San Diego). Another editor and I share leads and Skype each week to provide accountability and support for our businesses and other projects.

If you want to add a coach or mentor to your team, ask for referrals. When an associate or client mentions how much their business has improved as a result of working with someone, get that person’s name and request a short phone interview. Continue to build your online and offline networks, and you’ll soon find the right team members to catapult your business to great success.

Happy info-products,

Background and Experience:

I started writing at the age of seven and I haven’t stopped yet. I have published many articles for sites such as Associated Content and eHow, my customers range from webmaster’s to business owners and non-profit organizations. I practice a wide variety of writing and drawing styles. I am perfectionist when it comes to my work and I am currently enrolled in many classes to further expand my knowledge. I also am a practiced artist. I have been drawing even longer than I have been writing. My personal favorite is digital art, simple because for me it’s much more convenient to have it already on the computer ready to go right when I finish. You can expect to purchase only the best product I can offer.

Product:

I write articles, promotions and advertisments for people and companies who do not have the time or in some cases skill, to write themselves. Also if you need a simple logo or a business card or flyer illustration, I am a practiced artist and I’m currently taking costumer requests for that type of work also. My customers get all the rights to any writing they purchase from me, meaning they can list themselves as the author and take full credit for the work done. *____________________________________________*

“The article I purchased from FriendlySpook’s GhostWriting service was the 400 word article and I used it in my business flyers. It was perfect just what I asked them for. I was so surpprised that for such a small price, it really did a lot to make my business look professional. Plus I received such great costomer service that I’ll definitely be coming back for all my future writing needs! I would highly recommend this service to anyone of my clients, friends and family.
“I’m not really sure how to write one of these but I geuss I’ll try??? OK well my name is Shadette Tafoya. I recenty decided to open my own cleaning business on the side as a second income. Because of the tough economic times I worked very very hard to support my family and I didn’t have the time or the knowledge to write and print all that business stuff like flyers and business cards. So a friend of mine suggested that I should post my business information at some free online ad websites to start out, but I realized I was totally out of my legue and I needed help to write my sales page ASAP. I decided to hire FriendlySpook to help me out. It was cheaper than the other writing services that I considered and I was shocked that when I told them my story they were SO nice to me! They even offered to do my page at Half-price! I’m still kinda in shock about it but they really couldn’t have helped anyone more grateful for it. Thank You guys so much for all you’ve done. God Bless”

Well, I have just spent the weekend working. Sometimes, that’s just how it works out. A publisher sent me over some research material for this book I am writing and they needed to know my thoughts on the subject – by Monday. So far, I have been pretty good about keeping my weekends free, but when it is a project I am excited about, I really don’t mind putting the hours in. In any case, when I poured myself a nice glass of wine after I had finished work, I felt like I really deserved it!

Hurrah for LinkedIn! I have just been approached by a major publisher to work on a really interesting project. I had done some work for that publisher years ago, but had recently invited my contact there to join LinkedIn. Receiving the invitation jogged her memory a bit and put me in the frame for some dream projects, which I am just about to get stuck into. So, there you go: proof that social networking can pay off!
