As you all have heard, baseball is no longer the country&#8217;s national sport! We have two national sports now, and those would be GAMING and WATCHING ANIME. Don&#8217;t believe me? Well, with so many video game titles in this holiday season&#8217;s release window, I&#8217;m sure you&#8217;ll ALL be playing something.</p>
<p>With that in mind, I&#8217;d like to share with you all of the names of the games that we&#8211;the GHS Anime Gods&#8211;are playing right now.</p>
<p>Borderlands &#8211; The role-playing shooter that pits four characters in the middle of nowhere on the planet of Pandora. With plenty of randomly generated loot (about 17 million different weapon permutations) and an outrageous amount of leveling up to do, this game is considered GOLD to us. You choose from four different character classes to develop&#8211;each with their own unique capabilities.</p>

<p>Left 4 Dead 2 Demo &#8211; It&#8217;s out, and the boycott is over. Valve&#8217;s latest video game entry this year has us all clinging on to our pants and wishing we had never been born to face the zombie apocalypse. With new characters, a new setting (New Orleans), tons of new weapons and a direct AI Director upgrade, L4D2 is most definitely a delicious step up from L4D.</p>

<p>My name is Desmond, so you could imagine how scared I was when I played the first game and found out one of the main characters&#8217; name was also Desmond. In this chapter of the <em>Assassin&#8217;s Creed</em> series, you play as Ezio&#8211;a noble-turned-assassin who seeks revenge in Italy during the Renaiisance. New gadgets and weapons will be available in this non-linear game. Bigger missions and improved &#8220;blending&#8221; techniques in crowds have been added.  This is good, because we go tired of the first Assassin&#8217;s Creed really fast.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The boy&#8217;s soccer team&#8217;s season ended with an emotional and hard fought battle against Jackson. The team played with heart and courage all year and although they are done with this season, they are taking with them many great memories.</p>
<p>The season started off very strong for the bulldogs, beating Kent, Hoover, Cloverleaf, and Avon Lake. They then took on a tough Wadsworth team, tieing them 0-0. This is where the problems began for the boys. Seniors Jud Sprandel and Ryan Bayonnet were injured in the match, which played a significant role in the season. Even with 2 starters injured, Green was able to beat St. VM and tie St. Edwards. Going 5-0-2 in the first 7 games was one of the best starts the boys team has had in years. But then, the injuries really took a toll on the Bulldogs in the middle of a streak of 8 games which were played almost always within 2 days of the other. The fell to Highland, Revere, Glen Oak, and Copley, and tied Stow, but were able to beat Lake, Barberton, Talmadge, and Ravena to end the regular season with a record of 9-4-3. Thats when things started happening for the boys. Ranked 4th in the district, the team received a bye for the first round, and played Howland in the second round, a team that had beaten them 3 years ago in the district finals. In their last ever home game, the boys beat Howland 2-1 in a great showing of dominance which the score did not reflect. This gave them confidence for their second match for district semis against Glen Oak, one of only four teams who had beaten them in the season. In a very exciting match, the boys pulled out a 2-1 win with a goal by Zach Lucas in the last 5 seconds of the game. Then came the district finals against 1st seated Kent. The boys were determined to win their first district title in 7 years, and came out very strong. <p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Introduction</span></strong>: I went to my 10 year high school reunion Saturday night.  I knew they were going to have a bar there but I figured it wouldn&#8217;t be any worse than going to Applebee&#8217;s or some other bar and grill.  Boy was I wrong! About 95% of them were drinking if not outright drunk.</p>
<p>To be fair, most of them were not acting up.  I guess you could say they were <em>respectable drunks</em>, if there is such a thing.  But just to give you an example of the atmosphere I found myself in: one of my old buddies kept putting his beer on the table in front of me, trying to take a picture of &#8220;<em>the preacher</em>” drinking.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I thought it was funny the first few times he did so but he went on to ask for my testimony and then told everybody in hearing distance that they were going to Hell if they didn&#8217;t believe the King James Bible because Jason Elder (that would be me) said so.</p>
<p>Now, I have never believed that, much less ever stated it.  I do believe the King James Bible is the Word of God and those who read from other versions are working at a great disadvantage but I do <em>not</em> believe reading an NIV will send you to Hell.  That&#8217;s ridiculous.</p>
<p>Anyway, after having several drinks spilled and almost spilled on me I became disgusted and decided it was time to go to the house.</p>
<p>But when I sat down at the house I got under such conviction that I had to put my clothes back on and go back up there.  On the way there I stopped by my church to pick up a stack of tracks which I passed out at the party, before leaving again.</p>
<p>That was it; I wasn&#8217;t going to say a word.  But that night a young lady posted a message on Facebook expressing her displeasure in the event as well.  People jumped all over her because they thought she was talking about them.<a href="#_ftn1">[1]</a></p>
<p>They said they had a good time and couldn&#8217;t understand why <em>people</em> were complaining.  Another implied that those who were complaining were “<em>haters</em>.” Others said they were offended by “…<em>the ones that can&#8217;t let loose and have a good time</em>.”</p>
<p>It got to the point where the young lady was contemplating deleting her account because of all the criticism.</p>
<p>What stuck out in my mind was the fact that people could not seem to understand why a Christian person wouldn&#8217;t enjoy being around a bunch of drinking, dancing, and drug using.  One of the girls who organized the event, supposedly a good Christian girl, said she had a ball and was definitely thinking about a 15 year reunion.</p>
<p>Do people really not know that it&#8217;s a sin to drink alcohol?  The answer is apparent (<em>just read the comments</em>) and that&#8217;s why I brought this lesson.</p>
<p>In chapter one John the apostle gave a brief account of the nature rather of Jesus Christ. In chapter 2 we read about the miracle working power of our Lord.</p>
<h2>John 2</h2>
<p><strong>1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left:30px;">That&#8217;s good to know; Jesus isn&#8217;t opposed to people getting married.  The Bible never records Him attending a divorce proceeding but he did go to weddings</p>
<p><strong>3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left:30px;">You should mark this verse down for your Catholic friends.  This is the only command Mary ever gave. She said, “Listen to Jesus!”</p>
<p><strong>6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.</strong></p>
<p><strong>7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left:30px;">The common practice in that day was to serve the best wine first and then gradually water it down. And you know, that’s still the strategy of the world.   They’ll show you all the good first get you hooked, and wean you off the good stuff.   The world hasn’t changed, but I thank God, the Lord Jesus hasn’t changed either!  He’s still saving the best for last!</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Introduction</span></strong>: This passage presents a certain dilemma.  Every drunk in Cherokee County knows that Jesus turned water into wine and they bring that up to justify their condition.  They really don&#8217;t care what the Bible says.  So usually when they make that statement I make them a deal.  I offer to drive them to the local YMCA which houses a huge swimming pool.  I tell them if they can turn that water into wine, just like Jesus did, I will drink every drop of it. But you know what?  I might have one heck of a stomach ache but I&#8217;d still be sober as a judge because the wine Jesus made was non-alcoholic.  Maybe &#8220;sober as a judge&#8221; isn&#8217;t the best terminology given recent events in Cherokee County but you get my point.</p>
<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>Class of 1999 &#8211; Very Cosmopolitan!</strong></h3>

<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>How Do I Know The Wine In John 2 Was Non-Alcoholic</strong>?</h3>
<p>(1) Because Habakkuk 2:15 says, “<em>Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also</em>…” If Jesus had provided alcoholic averages to these people in John chapter 2, he would&#8217;ve gone against the word of God.</p>
<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>How Do I Know Jesus Didn’t Drink Alcohol Himself?</strong></h3>
<p>(1) Leviticus forbids <span style="text-decoration:underline;">priests</span> from drinking: “<em>Do not drink wine nor strong drink</em>….” (Lev 10:9-11) and Jesus is our “…<em>high priest</em>…” (Heb 2:17)</p>
<p>(2) The Book of Proverbs says, “…<em>It is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink</em>:” (Prov 31:4) and Jesus is, &#8220;..<em>.KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS</em>.” (Rev 19:16)</p>
<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>How Do I Know It’s Sin For Christians To Drink Alcohol?</strong></h3>
<p>(1) As shown above its sin for kings and priests to drink and Jesus has made us “…<em>kings and priests unto God and his Father</em>…” (Rev 1:6)</p>
<p>If Jesus really did make water into wine, why does it grieve my spirit to hear a so-called preacher point to John 2 and call Jesus “The First Bartender?” And, why do we use grape juice for the Lord’s Supper instead of Mad Dog or Boone’s Farm?</p>
<p>I’ll tell you why; it&#8217;s semantics. &#8220;<em>Wine</em>&#8221; meant something a little bit different to people 2000 years ago than it does to us today.  When we hear &#8220;wine&#8221; we naturally assume it&#8217;s got alcohol in it.  Otherwise we would call it grape juice.</p>
<p>But you won&#8217;t find the term <em>grape juice</em> in the Bible because whether it&#8217;s <em>fresh</em> grape juice or <em>fermented</em> grape juice they called it all wine.</p>
<p>To prove that Isaiah 65:8 says “<em>Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it</em>…” Wine <em>in the cluster</em> is not talking about a six-pack.  It&#8217;s talking about the juice in grapes that haven’t been picked yet.   In other words, the Bible says you can find wine inside a <em>fresh</em> grape.</p>
<p>So it just stands to reason if they called the juice inside a cluster of fresh grapes “wine,” they must use d “wine” as a generic term referring to just about any liquid related to grapes.  So when Jesus turned water into wine, it wasn’t the kind that got you drunk.</p>
<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>Drinking The Same As Overeating?</strong></h3>
<p>Someone has said that over eating is just as big a sin as drinking is.  But when you&#8217;re traveling down the highway, which would you rather meet, an overweight driver or a drunk driver?</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>Who has <em>Emotional</em>, <em>Social</em>, and <em>Physical </em>problems?</strong></h3>
<p>“<strong>Who hath woe? who hath sorrow?</strong> (Emotional problems) <strong>who hath contentions? who hath babbling?</strong> (Social problems) <strong>who</strong> <strong>hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?</strong> (Physical problems)” The answer is: <strong> </strong> “<strong>They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine</strong>.” (<strong>Prov 23:29-30</strong>)</p>
<p>Proverbs 23:33 lists some of the effects alcohol has on people “<strong>Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things</strong>.” You’ve probably heard that song; “…<em>Don’t all the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAZlQjdP-8s">girls get prettier round closing time</a>?</em>” Those lyrics are so funny because they are so true.  Alcohol makes bad things look a little bit better. But you know a whole lot of homes have been broke up because of that very thing. Like Billy Sunday said “<em>Drinking has drained more blood, hung more crepe, killed more children, blinded more eyes, twisted more limbs, broke more hearts, and dug more graves than any plague that ever swept across this world</em>.”</p>
<h3 style="text-align:center;"><strong>List of Hell-Bound People</strong></h3>
<p>In first Corinthians Paul lists several types of people who will not make it to heaven.</p>
<p>&#8220;<strong>Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither <span style="text-decoration:underline;">fornicators</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">idolaters</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">adulterers</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">effeminate</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">abusers of themselves with mankind</span>, Nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">thieves</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">covetous</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">DRUNKARDS</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">revilers</span>, nor <span style="text-decoration:underline;">extortioners</span>, shall inherit the kingdom of God</strong>.&#8221; <strong>(1 Cor 6:9-10)</strong></p>
<p>And if he stopped right there we&#8217;d all be in trouble.<strong> </strong>but thank God he goes on to say, &#8220;<strong>And such WERE some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God</strong>.&#8221; <strong>(1 Cor 6:11)</strong></p>
<p>And if your struggling with alcohol or drug addiction I have good news, there is a God in heaven who specializes in hard cases.  My friend if Jesus can&#8217;t help you, I don&#8217;t know who can.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>During our  teaching time with the GHS Mustangs yesterday (pre-homecoming game) we had a guest speaker. <strong> Jack Brewer</strong> was a member of the undefeated 1996 GHS Mustang Football State Champions.  He went on to play football and complete his Masters Degree at the University of Minnesota and then played in the NFL for five years.  He encouraged the boys that the disciplines they learn in football are very applicable to life and any future organizations of which they are involved. </p>
<p>It was a pleasure listening to him and an honor to share the teaching time. </p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The <a href="http://www.asse.org/">American Society of Safety Engineers </a>has hailed OSHA for moving forward with the UN&#8217;s GHS program.<br />
The rule change by <a href="http://osha.gov/">OSHA</a>, if adopted as is now expected, would harmonize OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard with the UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).<br />
ASSE&#8217;s letter to OSHA <a href="http://www.asse.org/professionalaffairs_new/docs/111306GHScomment-e.doc">can be read in its entirety </a>here.<br />
The step toward GHS is part of a broad and continuing increase in new rulemaking and enforcement activities since the change in administrations in Washington. <a href="http://osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=NEWS_RELEASES&#38;p_id=16473">OSHA&#8217;s complete news release</a> on the move gives additional insight into the decision.<br />

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>I’m writing this week’s column while waiting for a delayed plane to JFK airport that’s in all likelihood going to arrive too late to make my connection to San Jose, all of which explains my foul mood that makes me especially vulnerable to involuntary head shakes, eye rolls, and  two-syllable “puh-lease” utterances.</p>
<p style="text-align:center;">•••</p>
<p>Some reactions to Gilroy High School’s cheerleader skirt length <a href="http://www.gilroydispatch.com/printer/article.asp?c=259201" target="_blank">hubbub</a> are eliciting eye rolls. People who feign a faux-sophisticated “why are we wasting our time on this when we have so many other more important things to worry about” attitude make my eyes spin.</p>
<p>The controversy erupted when GHS Principal Marco Sanchez enforced dress code rules about skirt length. Some of the girls who were cited pointed out that the skirts that cheerleaders wear to school on game days are also too short.</p>
<p>First of all, good for those students. They’re showing signs of critical thinking, of questioning authority and of insisting that the rules be applied equally to everyone.</p>
<p>Those are all good things, and I applaud them.</p>

<p>Second, I agree with observers who point out that wrestlers don’t get to wear their singlets to class and swimmers don’t get to wear their Speedos to class &#8212; those athletic uniforms don’t meet school dress code either &#8212; so why should cheerleaders, who frequently make the case that they’re participating in a real sport, get to violate dress code?</p>
<p>Third, I don’t buy the argument that it’s a pain for cheerleaders to have to change during the day. Members of all other sports change from school clothes to athletic uniforms before their sporting events; why should cheerleaders be any different?</p>
<p>You can’t be a sport when it’s convenient, and not be a sport when it’s inconvenient, at least, not while being intellectually honest.</p>
<p>Finally, kudos to Principal Sanchez for enforcing the dress code. It’s worse than pointless to have rules that are unenforced. It breeds disrespect.</p>

<p>I’m shaking my head at the re-appearance of a Morgan Hill scandal that I <a href="http://mypointexactly.wordpress.com/2005/01/15/consistent/" target="_blank">once described</a> as one “in which no one at City Hall was having sex, but Morgan Hill taxpayers still got screwed.”</p>
<p>I’m referring to the 2004 scandal in which local attorney Bruce Tichinin hired a private investigator to try to determine if rumors of an affair between two high-ranking city employees were true.</p>
<p>After discovering the rather inept investigation (involving trying to set up the employees by ordering two cups of hot chocolate for them at an out-of-town conference), city council “passed a slap-on-the-wrist resolution condemning the detective work, finding it deplorable and meritless” and “threatened to report Tichinin to the state board, and asked him to step down from a city subcommittee,” <a href="http://www.morganhilltimes.com/news/259494-tichinin-case-may-go-to-trial" target="_blank">according to reporter Natalie Everett</a>.</p>
<p>Tichinin called this retaliation that violated his First Amendment rights and sued, but the lawsuit was dismissed and he appealed. An appeals court just ruled that he’s entitled to a trial, and the screwing of Morgan Hill taxpayers resumes. Litigation isn’t free or even cheap.</p>
<p>Now the city has three choices: Appeal to a higher court, proceed to trial, or settle with Tichinin. Dollar signs, lots of them, are attached to every option.</p>
<p>I don’t know who was right and who was wrong in the entire sad episode. I really don’t care.</p>
<p>But I do know that no matter where the blame belongs, one innocent victim exists in this case: the taxpayers of Morgan Hill. On behalf of all of us, I utter a tired, disgusted “Puh-lease.”</p>

<p>Finally, I frequently shake my head at readers who try to pigeonhole me. When I wrote four weeks ago <a href="http://mypointexactly.wordpress.com/2009/09/01/pay-raises-boost-blood-pressure/" target="_blank">about my amazement</a> about raises being given to Morgan Hill and Gilroy city employees amidst the current economic crisis, some readers lauded my conservatism. Some even “welcomed” me from the liberal side of the political spectrum.</p>
<p>When I wrote two weeks ago <a href="http://mypointexactly.wordpress.com/2009/09/15/after-eight-years-lets-reclaim-our-american-spirit/" target="_blank">about how Americans have changed</a> &#8212; and not for the better &#8212; after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, I got the opposite reaction. Suddenly, I was a terrorist-sympathizing liberal.</p>
<p>Frequent readers know that I tend to be fiscally conservative and socially liberal with a strong libertarian streak. Above all, I don’t toe any ideology’s line. I don’t agree with something just because Barack Obama says it or disagree with something just because John Boehner says it.</p>
<p>If you can’t handle that, at least keep your labels &#8212; and your complete lack of critical thinking skills &#8212; to yourself.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>The new regulation of chemical products GHS stands for Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The main purpose of GHS is to:</p>
<p>a)Enhance the protection of human health and the environment by providing an internationally comprehensive system for hard communication</p>
<p>b)Provide a recognized framework for those countries without and existing system</p>
<p>c)Reduce the need for testing and evaluation of chemicals, and</p>
<p>d)Facilitate international trade in chemicals whose hazards have been properly assessed and identified on an international base</p>
<p>GHS regulation is composed of following hazard classes, also referred as building blocks i. Physical Hazards, ii, Health Hazards and iii. Environmental Hazards; each of those classes are composed of several subcategories. Countries which will follow the regulations of the GHS standard are free to determine which of the building block subcategories will be applied in different parts of their system. However, where a system covers certain information that is in the <a href="http://www.nexreg.com/en/jurisdictions/ghs.php">GHS</a>, and implements the GHS, that coverage should be consistent. Also to note that, suppliers should also periodically review the information on which the label and SDS for a substance or mixture is based, even if no new and significant information has been provided to them in respect of that substance or mixture. The competent authority may chose to specify a time, typically 3-5 years from the date or original preparation, within which suppliers should review the labels and SDS information.</p>
<p>The main element one needs to take into consideration is to follow the regulation according to the set standard, as well as to characterize the risk assessment by a simple formula: HAZARD x EXPOSURE = RISK</p>

The GHS is a basis for establishing a comprehensive national chemical safety program and a comprehensive approach to defining and classifying hazards and communicating information on labels and safety data sheets.</p>

<strong>When did the GHS start?</strong></p>
<p>The GHS was developed in Agenda 21 of the United Nations Conference on<br />
Environment and Development (UNCED) held in Brazil in 1992.<br />
“A globally harmonized hazard classification and compatible labeling system,<br />
including material safety data sheets and easily understandable symbols, should<br />
be available, if feasible, by the year 2000.”<br />

<p>What are the benefits of GHS?<br />
All countries, international organizations, chemical producers, and users of chemicals<br />
will benefit from the GHS since it will:<br />
§enhance the protection of humans and environment<br />

§assist countries and international organizations to ensure the sound<br />

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Safe Work Australia released their proposed GHS related revisions during the month of July 2009. This included a draft copy of their ‘National Code of Practice for the Preparation of Safety Data Sheets’. The 120 page document, available as both a Word and a PDF file contains a great deal of useful information. Of particular interest is the <a href="http://www.nexreg.com/en/jurisdictions/ghs.php">GHS</a> classifications that are outside of the scope of the draft regulations, which are as follows:</p>
<p>Acute toxicity – oral – category 5</p>
<p>Acute toxicity – dermal – category 5</p>
<p>Acute toxicity – inhalation – category 5</p>
<p>Skin corrosion/irritation – category 3</p>
<p>Serious eye damage/eye irritation – category 2B</p>
<p>Aspiration hazard – category 2</p>
<p>Flammable gas – category 2</p>
<p>Flammable liquid – category 4</p>
<p>Acute hazard to the aquatic environment – categories 1, 2 and 3</p>
<p>Chronic hazard to the aquatic environment – categories 1, 2, 3 and 4</p>
<p>This may present a challenge to MSDS authors who are attempting to write multi-jurisdictional MSDSs/SDSs, as some of these categories are used in other countries. Note, however, that the categories are listed as ‘not mandatory’, so as the regulations currently stand an MSDS author could include them on an MSDS. However, they are not required to do so.</p>

<description><![CDATA[Spätestens bei der selbstständigen Teilnahme am Straßenverkehr müssen Kinder und Jugendliche ihr Fah]]></description>

Deshalb wurde auch in diesem Jahr traditionell das ADAC Radturnier durchgeführt, bei dem die Schüler an einem praxisnahen Trainingsprogramm ihre Fahrsicherheit testen können. Teilgenommen haben alle Schüler von Klasse 2 – 8. Auf einem ca. 200 Meter langen Parcours mit acht Aufgaben konnten die Schüler spielerisch wichtige Fahrtechniken einüben, die sie im Straßenverkehr beherrschen müssen. Beim anschließenden Turnier testeten die Kids ihr Fahrkönnen. “ Kluge Köpfe schützen sich“ d.h. alle Teilnehmer fuhren mit Helm! Außerdem wurden zu Beginn alle Fahrräder von Herrn Sramek auf Verkehrs – und Betriebssicherheit überprüft. AmNittwoch, 29. Juli, fand die Siegerehrung statt, bei der sich alle teilnehmenden Schüler und Schülerinnen gespannt versammelten. Bewertet wurde Fehlerzahl und Zeit, in der der Parcours befahren wurde. Herr Sramek und Frau Baschin verteilten die Medaillen an die Sieger: Gruppe I: Denise Lindenfelser, Silas Schütz Gruppe II: Olivia Sieg, Hendrik Werner Gruppe III: Constanze Goldade, Yannic Janzer</p>

Die ständige Präsenz des Internets im Elternhaus und in der Schule und die Gefahr, schon mit 2 Mausklicks auf jugendgefährdende Seiten zu gelangen, waren Anlass für diese Veranstaltung. Herr Gnant untermauerte diese Feststellungen in einer eindrucksvollen Präsentation.</p>
<p>Mit fast 37 Millionen ist die Deutschland die viertgrößte Gruppe der Internetnutzer weltweit. Es gibt eine enorme Datenfülle mit pornographischem, gewalttätigem und menschenverachtendem Hintergrund. Ob Bilder oder Filme, der Zugang ist ohne Hürden innerhalb von Sekunden möglich.</p>
<p>„Wie können wir unsere Kinder schützen?“, fragte eine besorgte Mutter. Herr Gnant empfahl das Gespräch mit den Kindern und eine kostenfreie Software auf dem Rechner zu installieren (z.B. parents-friend 8.0.30), die gefährdende Inhalte herausfiltert. Zusätzlich sollen die Kinder auf keinen Fall persönliche Daten im Netz preisgeben. Denn diese Daten können nicht mehr vollständig gelöscht und daher missbraucht werden.</p>
<p>Zum Schluss bedankte sich Rektor Hesselschwerdt für die engagierte Aufklärungsarbeit und bei den Eltern für ihr Interesse.</p>
