- How often do we truely stop to appreciate the beauty surrounding our path? Life forces an accelerated pace, and the peripheral is a darkened blur that rushes by without a glance. In racing forward with blind ambition, we will miss far more than we ever see. Like running through a tunnel, a small pinpoint of light on the other side drives us faster. Looking back, the view is the same as looking forward. A circle of pitch black darkness with a miniscule dot of light at its center. What lay beyond this darkened tunnel restricting my path? What is out there? Thoughts of uncertainty swarm through my head as I find my pace slowing. Each continuing footstep is smaller and smaller until I find myself standing still. I close my eyes and let the darkness take me. For a time, the only constant in my world is the sound of my own breath. In one last exhale as I open my eyes, the walls of emptyness fade into an overwhelming scene of beauty and awe. Blinded, it is almost as if my eyes had opened for the first time. The magnificent forest expands around in all directions, and this is yet only a single footstep along my path. How many scenes like this have come before me and gone by unnoticed? Remaining here for now I must stay, in a place of such beauty. If this is what surrounds me now, I know there is only more to be found along my path, waiting around the bend.

More from my trip in the mountains…

We’d been at the resort for a little while now and got settled in before we decided to eat. We sat down to dinner, eating, talking, laughing, and enjoying a great time. As we were sharing a joke, something happened to me that happens to most men…

A fine, correct that, very fine looking lady walked past our table. A gift and a curse; very nice scenery but if you get caught, you know you will hear about it sooner or later.

So I took a look, not even a look really, more like a peek. And of course…when my eyes came back to the front, hers were fixed on me…and it wasn’t a happy look.

“I can get her number for you if you want it.” You can guess how the rest of the night went.

We talked about it, and even debated a little later over a drink. This was actually a sensitive issue for her. She said I did that a lot and that she was offended by it (in fact I did it last night).

She said it didn’t have anything to do with insecurity, but she thought it was disrespectful for me to even glance at another woman while in another’s company.

In short, “don’t be lookin’ at no other b*tches when you’re out with me.”

(Note: If I called her or any other woman a b*tch, I would get blessed out because it’s disrespectful and women should be placed on high. But it’s ok for her to call another woman a b*tch. I’m not itching to have the word rolling off my tongue, but it’s a tad hypocritical, don’t you think? However, I digress; that is another topic for another time.)

I am an admitted “girl watcher.” For all the sh*t I talk, I appreciate the female species, and thank the Lord for every day you are on this earth. If you can’t appreciate the stunning beauty of Gabrielle Union, Kim Kardashian, or Alicia Keys, well, you’ve got issues. In fact, for the fellas that missed this pic in my Thanksgiving post, it’s worth putting up a second time. God is good, all the time..

And since I’m not prejudiced or biased, it wouldn’t be right to just show Alicia, now would it…

Now let’s get back on track…

Appreciating the beauty of another woman doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate the company that I’m with, or that I’ll leave you as soon as a bigger ass comes along (I’m more of a breast man anyway). That just means I appreciate the female species.

Some of the ladies reading may be wondering how I’d feel if an attractive man walked by and you looked. I think it would be more strange if you didn’t look. I know there are some handsome men out there; feel free to gawk. He probably appreciates it, and it’s a nice thing to make someone’s day. I’m not going to get upset and berate you for looking at someone you found attractive.

If it happens to be a woman you’re looking at, I might invite her over to have a drink with us .

What side of the aisle do you sit on this issue? Are you the type to “handcuff” your man or woman? Do you think a look can lead to more? Do you think it’s ok to look at another person while you’re in another’s company? Is it ok to “look at the menu as long as you don’t order?”

Feel free to comment.

Hand Tree is a wonderful being Who’s acquaintance I have the pleasure to know. So often, She’s given me great and timely wisdom. She lives along a very busy street and I’ve often wondered how’s she’s managed to keep her calm.

She said, “I Am an ‘oasis in the middle of a storm’. I’ve been here for decades. I extend a focus of Peace to all who would partake of it, as quick as a glance. I stand up to whatever comes, …regardless, unless I am cut or knocked down. My roots serve to keep me anchored to my core, unmovable from my authenticity and True Source and Strength. My trunk enables me to have an earthly form. My branches allow me to gather information and perspectives from all sides, reaching out in all directions and providing shelter and shade for others. My leaves provide me with a means to collect nourishment, while adding beauty to my stature and in gratitude, contribute to the harmony and aesthetics of my surroundings.

Because I AM the center of my world, although I cannot walk, via my leaves, branches, trunk and roots, on a visible and invisible level, I extend radially in all directions and on all dimensions. Thus, I gain information and share the experiences of those infinite variations of life and lifeforms throughout time and space. I see and feel with altitude and depth.

Although I do not shout, if you ask me if you can approach me, I can reveal to you many, many things, about the past, the present and the future. I AM A LIVING BEING. Although you may not acknowledge me when you pass me by, I AM so lovingly connected in my Being, that I AM not offended, but unconditionally continue to offer sustenance for the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual enhancement and upliftment of all creatures. I AM a Tree.”

As I hugged Hand Tree, I felt her solace serene penetrate my being with a still, yet vitally active quiet. I felt both honored and grateful for her Presence and to be able to experience it.

Especially during this season, kindly extend reverence and respect to ALL trees. Their beauty is in their ‘livingness’. Perhaps this holiday season can be transformed to a time for win-win solutions: the opportunity to consciously take the time to enjoy the beauty of the living tree, now and for many years to come, instead of just for a few weeks, and for many, many trees to retain their lives and be able to offer their precious gifts thereof.

Wishing ALL creatures, a joyous season, connected in True Love, Wisdom, Harmony, Peace and Light! Blessings!

I didn’t have a clue
I never thought this could come true
Sit back and close your eyes
And let me paint this picture for you
It has been some time now
I let my inside dry up and dwindle in despair
Hoping that tomorrow
He will be there
I feel the beats and the pounding
Like a drum in a band
I can’t help but wonder
Has God finished completing
‘”that” Man
I know I have no place
But you can tell by the look on my face
That there’s an empty space
Everyday there’s a race
And I’m weary from the chase
And not one of them had “that” face
Those eyes that would see clean through to my soul
And give light to that place
That has now become a black hole
While my days come and nights go by
I know all that I have come to believe can’t be a lie
Have I asked for too much?
Are my standards too high?
If your answer to me is No…..
Then my question is why?
There is no answer
This question has been plaguing me like a cancer
And still
There is no answer
Just when I decided
I would just let it go
A door opened
And wouldn’t you know
At first glance
I knew this meeting was not by chance
It played out like a silent movie from France
No words were being spoken
Not even a sound
Our souls knew
They had been found
See physically we weren’t in the conversation
OMG what a sensation
Intertwined his soul and mine
Thank you Jesus ….lol…it’s about time
So for the first time I take a chance
And follow my heart
The whole while my head is saying
That’s not smart
But this is different
It’s a joy I can’t fully explain
Our connection is so deep
or am I going insane
Seeing the love he has for me
Through his eyes
Let’s me know everything my head has been telling me
Has all been lies
I took mental notes
I left myself open
Hoping, Wishing, Praying
God would finish completing “that” Man
And all the while it was written in his plans
Because
Right before my eyes
Here he stands

“that” Man!

2. One point was awarded for each week a song on the map.

3. Finally, one point for each week a song was taken at # 1.

Left to the artist list, was the total points earned are added every song.

The 254 artists whose songs in the charts1980, Amy Grant took over. From 21 Top Ten (5 Fueled went # 1), Grant ended the decade with 1488 points. The Imperials tracked 25 songs in 80 years and second place. Sandi Patty five # 1 songs helped others. Twila Paris reached the top step 6 times during the decade, with their fourth. To the surprise of some, Wayne Watson came in fifth. Michael Card Michael W. Smith supplanted by a point to post # 6. Dallas Holm came. Eighth Steve Camp, whose song "It 'was Cover Me," the song at the beginning of 1987, which ended the decade in ninth. Petra, with five # 1's, rounded off the top ten.

For http://www.topchristianhits.org top 100 artists of the 1980s and the initial design of the book each year.

With a little configuration Glance can be made to show oracle process usage where the processes are

With a little configuration Glance can be made to show oracle process usage where the processes are grouped by SID or by user processes or even by applications such as agent usage. This is based on HPUX experience and whilst I know there are Glance ports for other platforms I do not know if they contain the same functionality.

Using Glance select A (for Application) and you see how the applications have been grouped

Then S and select 2 which shows the breakdown of the background processes we have associated with the SID PGSAWM1A

If we then want to see how many user processes are connected to that SID we select option 5 from the previous screen

We are using various versions of Glance all around the version 4.73 and the functionality seems to work in them all. The key to getting this to work is creating an applications file. Rules are held in a flat file(/var/opt/perf/parm) that can only be modified by the root user. Care should be taken to ensure that the configuration information remains unchanged. Applications are defined as follows

application = <Application Name>
<criteria> = <criteria rules>

Example

application = db_SID1A
file = ora_*SID1A*

In this example an application db_SID1A is defined that consists of all processes matching the file criteria ora_*SID1A*. It is also possible to define a user based criteria (see below) that will consolidate process information based on the owner of the UNIX process.

application = Appworx_User
user = apxprdco

In this example the Appworx_User application consists of all processes owned by the apxprdco user.

As stated above the Application criteria are hierarchical and therefore care needs to be taken to ensure that the application criteria are selective otherwise unexpected results can be obtained.

The file must terminate with a default application (see below) that is already part of the deployed file.

# Note: this generic root user entry should be specified at the end of your
# application definitions, if you choose to keep it, because it will
# pick up all processes owned by root which were not included in preceeding
# application definitions.
application = other_user_root
user = root

This place is so crowed
Music is the only sound I here
As I take my seat
Our eyes meet

With a warm smile
As we continue to stare
I want to turn my head
Hoping my looks
Aren’t miss-read

It only takes a minute
After I am fully seated
For you to come by
And say Hi

This is not the place
But it’s where we met face to face
Man I hope this guy
Is not on the chase
If that’s not case
Then it’s ok
For him to take a seat
And be in my space

Many have walked by
Trying to catch my eye
While never turning my head
And talking with you
Should hopefully
Give them a clue

On a chance meeting
In this place
You would be the first
I must admit
To keep a smile
On my face

Eight months have passed
You’re still complimenting me on having class
It is true
All men aren’t just looking
For a piece of ass

There are many misconceptions
Of people who attend these places
Clustered and crowed with so many faces

On that one night a year
I decide to go out dance
I met a gentleman
With my first glance
