Today is the MoLeNET Conference, the second conference MoLeNET has had. Last year the conference was at the Emirates Stadium, this year at the Grange Hotel near St Pauls.

Gloucestershire College will be there in force today. Last year I did a ten minute slot on the Glossy Project. This year, Alan Graham will be presenting in the research strand on what we did in the Shiny project in terms of research. Whilst Rob Whitehouse will be doing the ten minute slot on the use of video assessment and the impact on learning. Rob Allen, who has done some fantastic work on mobile learning in plumbing and heating will be on our stand. And…. myself and Greg Smith, the college Principal, will be delivering one of the keynotes.

Glossy and Shiny have had a real cultural impact in the college and I hope to share how we achieved this in the college.

In case you were wondering, our third MoLeNET project is called Sparkly and is about sharing what we do with two partners, Stroud College and Royal Forest of Dead College Royal Forest of Dean College.

Voor zij die het nog niet weten, wij bakken nu, naast mokken en spaarpotten, ook puzzels in onze oven.
En deze maand geven we aan alle klanten met fotowerk een kortingsbon van -25% op elke puzzel in ons assortiment.

Luni, 23 noiembrie, a avut loc balul facultaii mele nu am sa va spun prea multe… v-am spus pana acum. Insa uitandu-ma la poze, la culoare, la personalitatea fiecaruia, transpusa in culoare, in outfit, in atitudine.. nu pot sa spun decat ca imi plaaace mai mult FCRP-ul .

In sfarsit am aparut si pe site-ul tabu.ro , caci m-am cam plictisit tot urmarind momentul aparitie.

La acest sfarsit de saptamana, cele mai elegante, rapide si eficiente shopperite, castigatoare ale etapelor din Bucuresti, Cluj, Constanta si Iasi s-au intalnit la Bucuresti pentru Marea Finala a Campionatului de Shopping Tabu.

Povestea a inceput anul trecut, cind Tabu – cea mai curajoasa revista de femei – si-a propus si a reusit sa demonstreze ca shoppingul se poate face rapid, elegant si eficient. Succesul primei editii a Campionatului de Shopping Tabu ne-a determinat sa extindem competitia in acest an la nivel national.

Sambata, 14 noiembrie, revista Tabu a reunit in Baneasa Shopping City castigatoarele celor patru etape ale Campionatul de Shopping Tabu 2009 desfasurate de-alungul anului in Bucuresti, Cluj, Constanta si Iasi, pentru a se intrece in Marea Finala. Cele 12 finaliste au concurat pe echipe, reprezentand fiecare orasul in care au castigat la etape. Dupa mai bine de doua ore de competitie si buna dispozitie, s-a stabilit si orasele castigatoare.

Prima proba (Sprint pe tocuri de 12 cm) a fost adjudecata de echipa din Bucuresti (reprezentata de Alina Girleanu, Loredana Meret si Alina Badoi). Cea de a doua proba a reprezentat o surpriza pentru finaliste. Ele au trebuit sa fie gratioase pe pasi de dans, invatati pe loc de la doi multiplii campioni la dans sportiv. Eleganta reprezentantei Iasului a convins juriul, echipa din Moldova ( reprezentata de Ioana Ciubotaru, Cristina Tascu si Elena Popaene) castigand proba cu numarul doi. Finalistele de la Cluj ( Alexandra Gatan, Raluca Muresan si Anca Cimpoesu) si-au demonstrat calitatile de fashioniste la proba trei (Fashion speed). Ultima proba (Maratonul magazinelor) a fost adjudecata tot de fetele care au reprezentat Iasul, echipa fiind desemnata castigatoarea Finalei Campionatului de Shopping Tabu 2009.

Participantele au fost recompensate de partenerii evenimentului: magazinele Humanic, Baneasa Shopping City, YVY Bags si BitDefenser. Castigatoarele finalei au primit premii in bani de sponsorul oficial al evenimentului Mastercard (3 premii a 500 ron si unul de 800 ron).

Kanker. Het woord kanker lijkt voor iedereen een andere betekenis te hebben. Gezien de cijfers is het bijna onvermijdelijk dat er iemand in je nabije omgeving ooit kanker heeft gehad of er zelfs aan is overleden. De ziekte lijkt steeds ‘normaler’ te worden.  De schappen in de boekhandel staan vol met boeken over kanker. Biografieën over sporters die de ziekte hebben overleefd, andere ervaringsdeskundigen, zelfhulpboeken en dan vergeet ik nog de vele romans. Het lijkt niet op te houden. Glossy’s over kanker, films over kanker en zelfs een ‘kanker’ award gala in Carré. Deze toenemende mate van bespreekbaarheid lijkt patiënten goed te doen en het taboe op kanker te verwerpen.

Ook wanneer je  op straat loopt, of in de trein zit, word je regelmatig geconfronteerd met de ziekte, maar dan door toevallige passanten, die te pas en te onpas het woord gebruiken om hun onbehagen uit te drukken. Ik begrijp dit wel. Het woord bekt zo lekker. Een stuk beter dan kut, of godver, of mijn nieuwe favoriet pokke. Ik zal dan ook niet ontkennen dat het woord ook mij, in extreme gevallen, weleens ontglipt. Het is natuurlijk totaal niet politiekcorrect om dit toe te geven en al helemaal niet als je daarna wil gaan schrijven over de respectloosheid van de gebruikers van het woord.

Waarom zou het gebruik van het woord kanker eigenlijk altijd respectloos zijn? Het is niet alsof het gebruiken van het scheldwoord impliceert dat kanker niet kut is, of dat kanker niet voorkomt. Je kunt het woord natuurlijk wel op verschillende manieren gebruiken. Zoals:’waar blijft die kanker bus’, maar ook: ‘die kanker agent’. Hier treedt al een verschil op, een kanker bus lijkt minder erg dan een kanker agent. Het ergst lijkt: ‘krijg de kanker’, hetgeen iemand in het heetst van de strijd ook weleens naar mijn hoofd heeft geslingerd en waarvan ik denk dat het direct veel zegt over het IQ, dan wel EQ, van diegene. Ook vaak gehoord: ‘kanker lekker’. Dat lijkt me klinkklare onzin, want hoe kan iets nou zo lekker zijn als een, vaak dodelijke, aandoening. Hieruit blijkt eigenlijk al dat frequent gebruikers van het woord eigenlijk niet zo slim zijn en je hun woorden ook niet zo serieus moet nemen. Althans, zo dacht ik er altijd over. Ik maakte me er nooit druk om, maar de laatste tijd irriteert het me steeds meer en ik vraag me af of dit wellicht niet een beetje hypocriet is.

Zo stond ik onlangs op Rotterdam Centraal en het perron was overladen met voetbalsupporters die luidkeels verkondigden dat de stad Amsterdam erg ziek was. Nu is dit niets nieuws, maar nieuw was wel dat ik dit tezamen met mijn moeder aanhoorde. Mijn moeder, die net een borst heeft verloren aan deze ziekte. Ik verstijfde en wachtte haar reactie af, maar het leek haar weinig te doen. Ik heb haar niet durven vragen wat ze ervan vond en heb niets gezegd tegen die jongens. Niet dat ik de illusie heb dat het iets had uitgemaakt als ik dat wel had gedaan. Ondertussen weet ik dat het haar toen wel is opgevallen, dat ze inderdaad aan haar ziek zijn moest denken maar dat ze niet de drang had er iets over te zeggen en het niet persoonlijk opvatte.

De vraag die nu bovenkomt is: ligt die nieuwe irritatie aan mijn onzekerheid? Het feit dat ik haar ziek zijn nog niet heb verwerkt? Is het hypocriet dat sinds een aantal mensen in mijn directe omgeving ziek zijn, de betekenis van het woord zo beladen is geworden? Dat het geen abstract begrip meer is, maar een woord dat doet denken aan de dood en ziek zijn? Moet ik weer leren te denken: ’ach men bedoelt het niet slecht en is niet zo intelligent’? Of moet ik als een soort moraalridder ten strijde trekken en iedereen aanspreken op zijn woordkeus? Hetgeen ik eigenlijk niet zo zie zitten.

En zo lijkt deze hele tekst dus zinloos te zijn, want ik weet het niet. Ik heb geen antwoord op deze vraag. Ik weet alleen dat ik kanker, ‘kanker vervelend’ vind en IK, bij deze, het woord voor de laatste keer gebruik als scheldwoord.

Vineri, CatalinG s-a ocupat de participanti la miss si misterul balului colorat si ne-a facut niste poze superbe!

Eu si George, ca de obicei, am fost pusi pe sotii si ne-am prostit/maimutaric/amuzat de orice (chiar si noi de noi) si puteti vedea ce a iesit .

Mi-e drag George, ne intelegem bine si abia astept sa vina balul, sa ne vedem imbrati frumos, cu tinutele urbane pe noi, sa bem niste tequila/vodca/tuica inainte, sa prindem curaj si sa fim senzuali la dans .

Where celebrity meets fashion!

Sambata a avut loc, la Baneasa Shopping City marea finala a campionatului de shop TABU.

Participantele au fost castigatoarele de la etapele sustinute la Cluj, Iasi, Constanta si Bucuresti. Printre ele, si subsemnata!

Inainte sa va arat cateva poze facute de Shpumtzi, poze nu prea reusite… se gandea domnsioara la petrecerea din seara anterioara, va arat niste poze de la Cluj, de la etapa castiagat atunci de mine si Bianca.

Cam asta a fost la Cluj, in 16 mai, unde am castigat proba de Ridicare a greutatilor cu eleganta – proba individuala- si proba de Fashion Speed – proba pe echipe. A fost super atunci, am fost foarte mandra de mine si bucuroasa. Desi am fost franta de oboseala, dupa drumul Tg-Mures – Cluj.

Sambata, la marea finala, lucrurile au stat putin altfel. Am fost nitel schimbate probele, cosurile de cumparaturi la proba de Sprint pe tocuri de 12 cm, apoi am dansat la a doua proba, a treia, cea de Fashion speed a fost si ea schimbata. Nu am mai imbracat un manechin, ci pe una din participante. Iar noi, echipa reprezentand Clujul am avut de construit o tinuta business. Si am castigat proba. Ta na na na!!

Iar daca fuchsia ne-a purtat noroc la Cluj, tot fuchsia am fost si in Baneasa! Si ne-a purtat noroc. Multumim tabu!

Chiar daca tocmai am postat o poza cu Alexandra, nu pot sa ma abtin si va arat mai multe poze cu ea.

Eh.. n-am dreptate cand spun ca e foarte frumoasa?

Cea din primul plan e Alexandra Moscalu, draga mea colega de grupa. Abia azi am zarit la avatarul ei poza si am si “sarit” sa mi-o dea s-o vad… Si inca ma uit si imi place mult.

Mai ales ca e prima data cand te vad atat de machiata, draga mea colega!
