I find these gloves extremely useful. I ordered a medium size which seem a little small on me. My main reason for ordering these was to protect my hands from unsightly callouses. Another reason was I do not want to share germs with the previous user who fails to be considerate of other gym users. The wrist straps will get sweaty and smelly so you need to wash them every so often. I would agree with the previous user as far as grip is concerned. Bare metal free weights tend to have a slipping tendency with these gloves. weight equipment with rubber grips work well with these gloves.

I’ve used this almost daily for over 1.5 months and it works as advertised. I initially bought it to supplement a pair of Harbinger Training Grip gloves. The Harbingers were good for pushing exercises, but I found that my fingers were developing calluses from doing pull-ups. This happened despite the fact that the Harbingers already had longer fingers than regular gloves. I looked for gloves with better finger protection but wasn’t able to find anything suitable until I came across the Newgrips. Now, I use these exclusively for all my weight exercises. I’ve washed these and the wrist straps shrank a bit, but not noticeably so. It seems that the neoprene part is fairly durable and should last a long time. The velcro bits might be the weak spot here, but so far so good – time will tell.

I’m a personal trainer. I tried this product and found it basically useless. I’m also a woman which may or may not be relevant. However I Olympic lift, have powerlifted and presently work with kettlebells. Unless there is a specific reason to use this product, I would avoid it. Personally I like gloves that actually fit on my hands. I’ve gone through many, many pairs.

I like to try out new product. This is one of the products that I like. Here’s 3 basic reasons:

1. When I life weight, gloves protect my palms. All gloves are doing the same job, aren’t they? NO! This pair is mainly focus on the palms. The products on the existing marking is wrapping your whole hand which is not necessary.

2. Since this pair of gloves focus on your palms, you hands can ventilate pretty well… If your hand sweat like I do, they do relief the situation while you work out.

3. It’s cheap.. They only cost you less than $20. You should try out this product. I feel odd at the beginning because I don’t feel like I’m wearing something on hand. But one I get used to they, they are pretty cool. I mean heat won’t stay in your palms anymore.

I am not sure if there will be a traditional Black & White Ball for New Year’s in Second Life this year – unless I can persuade Gidge to throw one with me  – but if there is, I know a perfect gown for it and it’s free. Saschi Vixen of Adam n Eve put out a marvelous gift gown for Christmas that really will rock any Black & White ball. I know New Year’s is pretty chilly though, so I added a shawl I snitched off a Donna Flora outfit called LoreDana for a little shoulder warmth.

This is one of those marvelous, walk into a ballroom, pause at the stop of the stairs while your name is announced, and gracefully descend as a buzz of admiration races round the room sort of gown.  Cinderella would wear this gown except on New Year’s midnight is when the party  really begins to rock, so she needs a pass from the fairy godmother to stay longer.

No matter how chilly it might be, the stole has to come off sooner or later so folks can appreciate the intricate delicacy of the bodice. The back of the dress is similarly complex and beautiful. Winter’s here and that means cold weather…well for most of us. Good thing I have a cozy and cute solution to freezing fingers. I fell in love with these gloves from Mod Cloth! The elbow length style just won me over! I particularly adore them in teal.

Another pair I thought were pretty cute where these sweet red ones! Love those bows!

The colors of Modern Gypsy’s new winter collection are red, black and white. They are such powerful colors – passionate and bold and perfect, of course, for the strong patterns and shapes of these designs. I confess to absolute infatuation. This dress is particularly entrancing. It’s a beautiful and elegant cocktail gown – yet the top layer of the skirt fabric makes me think of light reflecting on a roadway. The way the white seems to glitter out of focus like the lights reflected on a wet street.  So much beauty – and yet evoking such a gritty image.

I thought Maitreya’s Shanti shoes with the ribbon lacing would echo the sash beautifully.

The jewelry is from Dahlinks and the gloves are old ones from Fleur (now 5th & Oxford). Roslin has been working on gloves and will soon be releasing some suede gloves so keep your eyes open for them. Los Angeles is finally getting the cold shoulder!  Woo hoo! Temps were cool enough to actually bring out suitable wintery gear – 3/4 length coat and fingerless gloves!!  I decided to wear a sweater today, albeit a short-sleeved one, it was still a sweater.

Day 26 - Before

Now no actual tweaking needed to be done to this puppy – I immediately loved the navy/white stripe pattern and the cotton was super soft, however the issues that I did have included – A,  the waist was a bit elasticky and may fit a bit tight, B, the pattern seemed kind of, well not straight, and C, horizontal stripes aren’t the most flattering.  Taking all this in on top of the $1 price tag, I decided to go with it and purchase.  When I got home, washed it and tried it on, I became totes obsessed. Good call to me!

Day 26 - After

I did say it was cold out, hence the jacket stayed on in fear of freezing to death in the 51 degree Santa Monica air. The smile is totally forced – chattering teeth is the best way to feign a happy face.

Little side note, as I needed to vent a smidge… Maybe about 8ish minutes or so away from arriving home tonight to get blogging, I got rear ended by someone just sitting at a stop light, anticipating my warm, cozy abode. This person told me they had never gotten into an accident before and literally said to me, “we live in LA, it was bound to happen” when we pulled over to exchange info.  Seriously? This person who shall remain nameless was also concerned with “how long this was going to take” which understandably made this lass here quite annoyed. It may be redundant, but seriously?

So, deservingly, my young (4 months old) Japanese Lily (she’s a hybrid so I gave her a hybridy, binary nomenclaturey-type name with a shout out to her country of origin) will receive her after pic tonight. I’ll post the after-after when she’s out of body shop recovery.

Day 26 - After

I’m not going anywhere this holiday and yet ran into my own travel woes. Que sera.

A short (I say short, ~30 mins) review of a tactical vest, aka Load Bearing Equipment (LBE). Apparently there are quite a number of companies offering these equipments. Pretty amazing how designers can simplify them from bulky blocks to now lightweight and tough.

As recently I have some NS shit, which was over. I thought army guys who make the calls to buy equipments should do their work to find out what really works and best for the soldier at the frontline. Buying equipments are better to allow the users, who are actually using them to decide and sound they views on what and how new equipments would enable them to perform better in all situations. Being the person who signs the check to purchase usually is not the one that is going to use them. If you are not using it, don’t decide! Dummy…

A fine example of this crap shit happened not long ago as I get to know that a new fleet of vehicles that were purchased by the army are not being surveyed by the people who are going to use them. A wrong signature on a check, and people who are suppose to use them, have to “make do” with the lousy design of the vehicles. more man-power have to be poured in, more materials, more cost. Just because the department buying those stuffs are block heads.

To be really integrated as a unit, guess there are still a long way to go. Happly however, pink ic is a bliss.

I missed my blog’s 2 year anniversary which was on December 19, so I will catch up today! There have been so many things going on, that as promised in the last post, I will now tell you about. ^_^

I have been working on some new Project Pyramids and have listed these in my Etsy shop. At the fabric shop, we just got in Love by Amy Butler, so be sure to watch for that soon too! If you would like a special order, just visit the shop and convo me!

And now for a tour around my Christmas tree this year. These are just a few of my favorite ornaments. There are quite a few, not as many as there are on my parent’s tree, but I’m slowly climbing my way up.

This is the latest addition to the tree, the red thread and needle. I love this ornament! I made the mistake of buying it for me when I was shopping for my fiance. . . turns out he noticed this hanging on our tree and got mad because that was the ornament that he bought me this year. Oops. ^_^

This is my cappuccino cup. I have had this for a few years and still love it. The picture came out with a heavy flash on the foam, but in reality, the white foam is very glittery.

My mom bought this one for me last year. It’s a purple Jelly Fish! How cool is that? She also bought my fiance a blue one to match mine. These blown glass ornaments are my favorite and are pretty much the only ornaments on my tree.

Or course I have a cat playing with a ball of yarn, duh! ^_^ This one is a few years old, I got it when I started to learn how to knit.

And the last ornament on the tour is the purple bird, also a new addition from last year. Birds are really big this year, and this chubby bird is so adorable! The detail work is really quite stunning. All of these ornaments are Old World ornaments purchased from the local ornament gift shop. It’s an annual tradition to go to the shop and pick out a few new ornaments for the tree, one that I have always loved and can’t wait to continue!

On to the knitting front, I have started my Snapdragon Flip-Tops by Ysolda. I am using Dream in Color’s Classy in colorway Gold Experience. I have finished one glove, but had to put the other on hold for my brother’s Urban Necessity Gloves by Colleen Michele Meagher. Both of theses glove patterns are great for the cold weather. I love the pattern on Ysolda’s design, but I also like the simplicity of the Urban Necessity Gloves. They both came out great!

That seems to be pretty good coverage for today. I have spun up the yarn for my mom’s hat and am in the process of knitting on that right now. I will update again soon with the progress on that as well as the sewing projects that I have to do around here. Until next time! ^_^

If your staff are tradespeople rather than office workers, then perhaps they’ll need different work clothing than office workers. Wearing a suit and tie isn’t right for every sort of job, and every company.

Here’s what your staff might need:

1. Base Layers and Socks shouldn’t be neglected in the winter, as these will provide the foundations for keeping warm.  Would your staff benefit from warm and waterproof socks at this time of year?
2. Polo Shirts will give your staff the professional look that they need, and yet will still make sure that they are appropriately dressed.   Why not get your polo shirts branded with your company logo, so that you get additional advertising too?
3. Sweatshirts are ideal for wearing over base layers and polo shirts, and will provide additional warmth when required.
4. Work Trousers will need to be durable and up to the job.  Perhaps your staff will need extra pockets, or will benefit from wearing trousers with padded knees.
5. Fleeces are ideal for colder days, and can be worn as an outer layer, or under a work jacket or a waterproof jacket when needed.  Why not get your company logo added, and see if it helps attract more business?
6. Work Jackets are another essential, and can will ensure that your staff stay warm and are able to get the job finished.  Make sure that they fit over all the other layers, and that they don’t restrict arm movement.
7. Hats and Gloves might also be required if your staff are working outside in the cold.  You’ll need to ensure that gloves don’t hinder your staff’ ability to use tools, or whatever else they need to be able to do.
8. High Visibility Workwear is important if your staff are working in potentially dangerous places, and need to be seen. It may also be a legal requirement in some industries and locations. Have your staff got all the high visibility jackets and trousers they need?
9. Waterproof Workwear is also important if your staff work outdoors.  You’ll still expect them to be able to carry on their duties in the rain.
10. Specialist workwear might be required, such as hard hats, or Survival Suits, or clothing that meets certain safety standards.
