Customers can visit Macy’s mstylelab departments to take part in the scan-to-donate program that celebrates and rewards youth activism. In return, Macy’s will donate $1, up to a total of $250,000*, to DoSomething.org. Customers who scan the code will trigger the $1 donation and have the opportunity to find out ways to “do more” in their community. OVERVIEW: In celebration of the 85th Anniversary of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®. Macy’s is launching the Great American Elf Adventure on Tuesday, August 9th. Find one of Macy’s Parade’s elves, give it a makeover and you could see your winning elf design transformed into a balloon featured on Thanksgiving Day in front of over 3.5 million spectators and more than 50 million viewers nationwide.  
DETAILS:
GET IT – Over 10,000 of Macy’s Parade’s elves have taken residence at Macy’s stores and at other locations in select cities. To find one, look for clues on Macy’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Macys and via Twitter @macysevents or #macyself. Each day from August 9th to August 24th, Macy’s will post a clue and password that will help reveal the location of elves at 669 Macy’s stores across the country or at other special locales.
DESIGN IT – Once you have one of the coveted elves, design what could be the newest member of the Parade elf family. After the masterpiece is complete, submit a detailed front and back photo of your creation by “Liking” Macy’s on Facebook and then proceed to download the “Elf” application. Entries must be complete by August 24th.
VOTE – From the received entries, a judging panel from Macy’s Parade & Entertainment Group will narrow down the entries to the Top 85. These entries will be posted on Macy’s Facebook page on Tuesday, August 30th for fans/friends to begin casting votes on their favorite. The design with the most votes as of September 6th will be announced in mid-September. From here, the design will be transformed into a helium wonder by the magicians of Macy’s Parade Studio. Besides designing the next elf balloon, the winning artist and three guests will receive a trip to New York City to see the Parade and enjoy their elf’s flight in the holiday spectacular. The 85th Anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs on Thursday, November 24, 2011 from 9AM to 12PM, in all time zones on NBC-TV. “Macy’s Chefs A-Go-Go”, a national food truck tour showcasing Macy’s Culinary Council (MCC) is rolling into Chicago! Macy’s first ever food truck tour will feature MCC chefs Takashi Yagihashi and Rick Bayless on board for the Chicago stop, cooking their favorite summertime recipes and dishing them out free! The Macy’s branded food truck will visit multiple cities during its nationwide tour which concludes in September. KitchenAid® will provide appliances to prepare timeless, summer-inspired dishes such as hamburgers, a homemade ice cream recipe created by Emeril Lagasse and signature side dishes selected by the guest MCC chef at each stop.
