As revealed on the Official PlayStation Podcast, the God of War Collection is headed to Europe in 2010, but “not in the very beginning” of the year.

The PS3 exclusive compiles PS2 classics God of War and God of War II, featuring enhanced high-definition graphics and trophies for each game. Releasing at $40 in the US, European fans who haven’t already imported should be able to pick it up at a reduced price to0.

Excitingly, the podcast also included talk about the possibility of Ico / Shadow of the Colossus re-releases, possibly in a package.

I reached 100% of all God of War Trophies with 2 run-throughs inside a single week. The first run was on Hard Mode! It was though but I never accept the offer to switch to Easy Mode. Hurray! The second run was on easy to grab the last missing trophies. Now I want to give you some tips how to get em all. You should note that there is no “Complete the Game on God Mode” trophy in the list, wich means that you dont need to complete the game in this Difficulty Mode unless you want to unlock all the Treasures in the game itself (costume select, the truth about Kratos family and the second secret message). If you are up to beat the game on God Mode and to unlock all the treasures, be advised that you can get the first secret message by destroying the two statues in the last room of the game (200 hits each) I was very satisfied about this circumstance not to be forced to play through God Mode.

Anyway, lets begin with the trophy list. Here we go:

BRONCE TROPHIES

Rockin’ the Boat – Complete the Sex Mini-Game

After fighting the Hydra and reaching Athens you start in your cap with two beautiful naked woman lie on your bed. By Pushing the R2-Button you just talk with them. You need to jump on the bed and to push the Circe-Button to interact with them. It’s not only a good practice for the many Quick-Time-Events, it also rewards you with red globes and a trophy.

Don’t Leave Her Hanging – Rescue the Oracle with 10 seconds to spare

This is a easy one. Just finish the race to rescue the Oracles with 10 seconds left on the timer.

Splash – Kiss the Nyad

There are 4 Nyads that can be found during the Test of Poseidon under water. By pushing the R2-Button you just read Kratos thoughts. You need to push the Circle-Button near the Nyad to kiss her and to get the trophy.

Zero Health = Bronze Trophy

This is an easy one. Just open a Chest when your heath meter is already full.

Hitman – Get a 100 Hits Combo

There are to places to achieve this trophy. The first one is near the locked door that you need to open by a puzzle short before you can acquire Zeus Fury or during the Test of Atlas while a block is coming near you and you have to kill all enemies before it smashes you.Make sure to have Poseidon’s Rage at last on Level 2 and play on Normal or Hard Mode.
It’s near impossible to get this trophy on Easy Mode because the enemies have less health and die very quick what makes it hard for you to collect enough hits.
All you have to do is to wait until you are surrounded by a lot of enemies. Now is the time to cast Poseidon’s Rage and to smash the Circle-Button. Tada! Now you have over 100 hits and get the trophy.

Getting My Ass Kicked – Die enough times to get offered Easy Mode

You need to play the game at last on Normal Mode and to die during the same battle exactly 5 times to get offered to change the difficulty to Easy Mode. Dont win a battle and activate the next checkpoint or the counter will be set back to zero.

SILVER TROPHIES

Kratos’ Marble Collection – Collect all the Gorgon Eyes

There are 18 Gorgon Eyes wich increase your healt-meter. You can find more than 18 Gorgon Eyes spread all over the Chests that can be found in the game. You get the trophy by collecting all 18 Gorgon Eyes.

Stick it in Your Cap! – Collect all the Phoenix Feathers

There are 18 Phoenix Feathers wich increase your mana-meter. You can find more than 18 Phoenix Feathers spread all over the Chests that can be found in the game. You get the trophy by collecting all 18 Phenix Feathers.

Hitman 2 – Get a 200 Hits Combo

Check the Trophy “Hitman 1″ above to know the two best places to reach the trophy. Cast Poseidon’s Rage once more and bash the Circle-Button again to get over 200 hits. The trophy is yours now!

Legend of the Twins – Watch the ‘Birth of the Beast’ Treasure

After you have completed the game once you unlock a short movie in the Treasure list. Just play this video and you get the trophy.

Seeing Red – Max out all Weapons and Magic

It’s near impossible to max out all weapons and magic on Normal Mode or higher, because you get less red globes by defeating enemies. Play the game on Easy Mode and try to follow this simple rules:
- Kill your opponents very brutal to get more red globes as you would get by just killing them the normal way
- Open the by two Muse-Keys locked secret room in Rings of Pandora to get a large boost of experience
- Try to find every chest wich include red orbs during the game
- You get the most globes in chests on your escape from the underworld
- During the first battle against Ares try to fail the mini-game after the first sequence when Kratos jumps on Ares shoulders to get lots of experience levels, up to 5 times

GOLD TROPHIES

You Got the Touch! – Climb the Spiked Column in Hades without taking damage

You only have to climb the first Spiked Column in Hades without taking damage to achieve this trophy. It’s not very hard to solve this task. Just focus on the blades of the column and dont hesitate. I can’t tell you if you need to load your game after you got hit by one of the blades to reset the requirement not to get hit. I always quit the game and load the savegame before the next attempt to survive this column untouched.

I’ll Take the Physical Challenge – Complete the Challenge of the God

You can select the Challenge of the Gods in the treasure menu after completing the game for the first time. Just beat the 10 stages of this challenge to archive the trophy.

Speed of Jason McDonald – Beat the game in under 5 hours on any Difficulty

I completed this task together with the trophy “Seeing Red”. It’s possible to be under 5 hours and to max out all weapons when you play on Easy Mode.To accomplish this task follow this simple rules:
- Play on Easy Mode
- Dont kill every enemy on your way to spare some time and just kill all enemies if you are forced to through a magical barrier

Key to Success – Collect all of the Muse Keys

There are only 2 Muse-Keys in the world, but enough chests to find one. I found one in a chest behind Atlas and the second one during the climb on a wall.

This is it folks! Now grab your Platinum Trophy! Oh wait.. there are still more trophies to discover during the game. Just progress through the game and complete it once to get the last missing trophies by just playing the game

And here are the missing trophies:

Clash of the Titans. Furia de Titanes. Rock n’ roll

One of the greatest Hack and Slash series of all time that I discovered first in 2008 through Skorch

One of the greatest Hack and Slash series of all time that I discovered first in 2008 through Skorch82 video-walkthroughs is about to get its third installment. I did not know what to expect from it. I was a big fan of the Soul Reaver series and after I have watched two videos of Skorchs guide I knew that I am going to like the God of War games, too. In 2008 I made my PlayStation2 ready again and bought me the two parts of God of War that I missed. I played 5 hours per day and finished both games inside one single week and I was still screaming for more! God of War III will come and now I get the chance to replay this two epic stories again on my PlayStation3.

A short overview

There is no need to explain the story of the game because it would spoil too much. All you should know is that you play as Kratos – one of Spartans greatest Warlords – but his fate condemned him to serve the gods and to obey their orders in reverse for everything he once loved. Terrible nightmares dont let him sleep most of the time until Athena offers his soul peace after one final task: He needs to destroy Ares – the god of war.

The God of War games are well known for their varied gameplay. Most of the time you will slaughter, tear up and kill enemies in a very brutal and bloody way. You collect orbs of different color to regain health, mana and to upgrade your blades and force wich you need to unlock while playing through the game and solving tricky puzzles. The games won a lot of prices, including “Game of the Year” honors from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and is listed in almost every Top Playstation 2 game ranking of admitted sites and magazines.

The game was re-released on the Playstation 3 this year in a Collectors Edition, featuring a trophy system and remastered for rendition in High Definition. I got it for 23 EUR in reverse for my Playstation 2 releases at GameStop and played it today. Lets see if the promotion campaign that promises “a much better experience of two greatest hits” is justified.

Collectors Edition

Lets get straight to the point: The Collectors Edition for PS3 is better as I have expected. You get both games, including all their features and mini games that were inside the original releases and every “Making of” episode + new “Making of” content can be found and viewed directly from the blue ray disk. The games itself were remastered f0r rendition in 720p HD. That means that every texture and model was edited and drawn again by hand to give the edges the look of a 2x AntiAliasing (AA cant be rendered by the PS3 graphics chip) and better sharpness. But there are still some weak points wich I dont like that much: All with the ingames engine premade cut scenes look as awful as they were in the original releases for the PS2. Only the animated videos beat their predecessor versions by far! The graphic inside the game looks a way better as before but always reminds you on the fact that the God of War games were first released on the PS2. Some textures look very blurry and misplaced, but this is what you need to accept if you buy a game that was mentioned to be played on a platform from the last console generation.

Please dont misunderstand me, the Collectors Edition is great and the games look really awesome and you can see that they put a lot of effort into the remastering. I only wish that they had put in a little bit more time into making it. The same goes for the trophies. I thought there were much more but until now I just see trophies for God of War I. The CE does not remove the old gameplay and the game’s atmosphere is still the greatest you will ever experience. God of War I and II are outstanding games that I really love to enjoy both a second time. It’s a dirty, brutal and violent world in wich Kratos lives and a MUST BUY for every fan and people who never had the chance to play the originals.

Top 5 PS3 VIDEO Games

Here is a current list of the Top 5 PS3 Games selling as of now, some are very newly released but I have combined top sellers of all games and best review rating. I have attached videos and a place you can purchase these video games or look for more detail if you like the look of the PS3 video game.

CALL OF DUTY – Modern Warfare

ASSASSIN’S CREED 2

GOD OF WAR- Collection

Please CLICK HERE to have more details and video clips of each of the PS3 video games.

But below is a short version of the best PS3 Games on the market at the moment.

Call of Duty -Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty – Modern Warfare has just been released in November 2009.

When Infinity Ward moved from the classic World War II setting and blazed new ground with Modern Warfare we saw the first obvious split within the world of Call of Duty.

Assassin’s Creed 2-

Assissin’s Creed 2 is a much better game than its predecessor. For one thing, it’s actually a complete game, possessing a beginning, a middle, and an end, where the original Creed had a very interesting beginning and a satisfying end connected by 20 hours of interminable grey tedium. And while this sequel may not feel quite as fresh as the first game’s handful of exceptional moments did, it serves up a more consistently enjoyable experience from start to finish.

GOD OF WAR Collection

The God of War Collection is convenient, containing both God of War and God of War II on a single blu-ray disc for easy access to the two games. Both games have received a high-definition visual upgrade and higher frame rate resulting in smoother gameplay, which just about makes up for the many times you’ll hear Kratos sceam “ARES!” in the first game.

“Right now we’re on the second leg of Into The Mouth Of Hell We Tour. The whole of the first leg I was writing and demoing every day so were Corey and Paolo, on this leg we haven’t been doing that as much because we’ve been working on the ‘God Of War III’ song – which is ‘Shattering The Skies Above’. That will come out exclusively on ‘God Of War III’, it will not be on the next Trivium record, but it is going to give people a really good representation of where we’re going with the next record. I’m pretty sure we’ll be playing it in the UK when we’re over, so people will be able to hear where we’re going. That’ll be the only new thing.”

Aion is no more. After thinking about it for quite some time, I’ve decided that I just don

Aion is no more.

After thinking about it for quite some time, I’ve decided that I just don’t have the time and interest to continue playing Aion, so I’ve cancelled the account.

Now, it actually has nothing to do with Aion itself, I think it has more to do with my current state of gaming. I acquired Dragon Age: Origins just the other day, I’ve been playing a lot of God of War (1, 2 soon AND the demo) and I keep going back to Modern Warfare 2 multi-player. Throw on top of that some Borderlands, which in itself is another RPG, and of course keeping up with Street Fighter IV and Blazblue and I basically have no time to grind.

It sucks, but all the other games I’m playing are free, Aion is $15 a month… oh well. Hopefully, I’ll be more ready for an MMO when Old Republic rolls around.

Anyway, Dragon Age is intriguing, so I really want to continue with that game… I think it has to do with the Mass Effect-ish style of furthering your story by answering questions in your own way and not really being able to go back once you’ve made a decision. I felt there was weight to my actions. For example, I betrayed my friend and his love, but I actually didn’t want to. I felt sort of bad about their idea of running away (long story) and deceiving the higher ups, so I told someone I thought would help. Of course, he told me to help them so that they could be captured. Well, I felt bad about that too, so I told them about it. Of course, the friend was furious. All and all, it’s pretty cool to know that had I done things differently, my story would have unfolded differently. It’s crazy to also note that I’m not sure what happened to my friend, but I am sure I’ll see him again.

On a different note, God of War Collections is a MUST buy if you own a PS3 and are a God of War fan. It’s so fantastic to see how well this game has aged, it’s soooooo much fun. And the God of War 3 demo is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure this game is going to EAT other games. Like, when it comes out, it will nuke Barbie’s Adventure Island. It may actually be too hot to put in your PS3… it’s like they took 1 and 2, threw it in a blender, asked fans what would be awesome, threw in some super mega killer graphics, made it super brutal, and put a dash of perfection powder. Viola, the game to beat in 2010.

March cannot come soon enough.

Anyway, I’d thought I’d leave you with some inspiring words, by a FANTASTIC artist, someone who’s words define a generation… /endsarcasm:

“Pa-Pa-Pa-Poker Face, Pa-Pa-Poker Faaaaace!”

God of War Collection dropped into retail stores yesterday, and it dropped into my greasy little hands earlier today. It features Gods of War I & II and some bonus God of War II content that I’ll never check, all for $40.

The games have been remastered in high definition, sport 720p specs and 60 frames per second goodness, and comes with a God of War III demo. It looks really good on my TV, better than I thought it would. The cutscenes were not redone, and they actually look significantly worse than the in-game graphics. I played through the first game a couple of years ago, and I can’t wait to replay it and get my fingers into God of War II in anticipation of numero tres.

“God of War Collection=Must Own”
I have never played the GOW series on ps2, and now I am living the hype that i heard about on ps2 year ago. This game is addicting and alot of fun! It has gore, blood, and some other MATURE items you should look into before getting it for a kid. The remastering makes it look great and the sound is wonderful. I have played just a few hours and can’t put the controller down. It also comes with a demo code for GOW 3 as well! Great package, and the only real knock i can give so far is the cut scenes are playstation 2 graphics, but it still looks good! I have been spoiled by HD Gaming and this game will not dissapoint! Must own for fans of the games and for new fans to come!

“Best PS2 Game Ever Comes to the PS3″
When I converted from XBox to Playstation a few years back, God of War was one of the first games I bought that was exclusive to the PS2. I’ve always loved Greek mythology, so I suppose that may be part of the reason why I quickly fell in love with the tragic story of Kratos. After finishing GoW1, I eagerly awaited the release of God of War 2. It was truly amazing that the PS2 was capable of producing such beautiful graphics. The story was even better than the original, and it left me hanging for part three in this wonderful franchise.

I’ve been patiently waiting for God of War 3 to hit the shelves, so I was quite surprised when I found out that the original two titles in the series were being remastered in high-definition for play on the PS3. I got my copy home, opened it, and loaded it onto my PS3. I’ll just tell you right now that ALL of the content from the first two games is on one Blu-ray disc, including all of the extra features from disc 2 of GoW2.

So, is this worth an upgrade????? The answer is a resounding YES!!!! If you are a fan of the series, then you owe it to yourself to get this title and enjoy all of the improvements that have been made to both games. First of all, they have both had an overhaul in the graphics department. While GoW1 still doesn’t quite measure up to the latest PS3 graphics standards, it is a big improvement over the old PS2 version. The game now fills the screen on a widescreen TV, and there is a noticable difference in the details of the graphics. The sound has also been improved and adds to the overall enjoyment of playing back through one of the greatest games ever created. You will also notice that the rumble feature is present, and there is quite a nice trophy collection for each game. Some of the trophies are quite funny. For instance, in GoW1, you can earn a trophy by dying so many times that the game offers you the ability to move to an easier setting. It was fun dying over and over just to earn this trophy. It’s been a long time since I played GoW1, but it was amazing how much of the game I could remember.

The storyline for both games is completely the same, but the improvement in the graphics and sound is well worth the cheap purchase price for both games. This set should keep you busy trying to earn all of the trophies while you wait to get you paws on GoW3 in April 2010. And just to make things a little better, the demo that was available at E3 for God of War 3 is now available to anyone who purchases this collection. And let me tell you, the demo will leave you waiting in anticipation for the arrival of what will surely be the best game of 2010. In my humble opinion, God of War is one of the most enjoyable game series I’ve ever played. OK, ok, before I close out, I’ll come clean. It’s just so much more enjoyable ramming your blade down the throat of a minotaur and watching the blood gush out in high definition. Or maybe grabbing one of the bad guys and pulling their body in half with a mighty torrent of HD blood going everywhere. Yes, it does bring a smile to one’s face to relive such great gaming moments in the clarity that only HD can provide. Whether you are a longtime fan of the franchise as I am, or if you are new to the God of War trilogy, you MUST get this new collection. I guarantee that you will NOT be disappointed.

No PC, comecei a usar o Steam. Resultado: baixei algumas demos, pesadinhas até. Tô viciado e encantado com a série Left 4 Dead. Comecei jogando a versão demonstrativa do 2. Gostei bastante e acabei baixando a versão full do primeiro, e tô adorando. Recomendo a todos. Quem sabe, faço review também. Fora L4D, joguei Braid e gostei bastante. É, sem dúvidas, o Mario da nova geração. Porém, com funcionalidades alteradas. Também recomendo.

Bom, acho que é tudo o que eu tenho pra dizer a vocês. Até o próximo (?) post. Abs.

God of War III won’t be out until March 2010. Yeah. So? Now the anticipation will be soothed slightly as the God of War Collection is out as of today. Players new to franchise (what are you 15?) can now experience the game that, in my opinion, popularized so many game elements you see prevalent in today’s action games. Veterans of the series can now have the satisfaction of playing two of the PS2’s best games ever on one Blu-Ray disc remastered in 720p. As a bonus, this new version will contain trophy support and players will also get access to the GOW III E3 demo upon purchase, all at the budget price of $39.99. An interesting approach to maintaining interest in subsequent PS3 continuations of PS2 legacy franchises. One would hope that other PS2 series getting an upcoming PS3 installment get the same treatment (I’m looking at you ICO/Shadows of the Colossus!). Stay tuned for a full review of the God of War Collection. Sean C.

FOSTER CITY, Calif., November 17, 2009 – Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) today announced the North American release of the God of War® Collection, bringing the award-winning God of War® and God of War® II to the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system for the first time. Just in time for the holiday season, the God of War Collection offers a substantial value to PS3 users, including both top-selling games at an attractive price of $39.99 CDN (MSRP).

The God of War Collection features high-definition versions of both God of War and God of War II on a single Blu-ray Disc™ at full 720p resolution. Both critically acclaimed games, which were originally developed for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, have been digitally re-mastered with full-screen anti-aliased graphics running at 60 frames per second, delivering the ultimate smooth gameplay experience on the PS3 system.

“We are thrilled to bring Kratos to PS3 even earlier than expected,” said Scott Rohde, vice president, Worldwide Studios America. “Thanks to our partnership with Bluepoint Games, this Blu-ray compilation will allow fans and newcomers to experience the epic God of War and God of War II saga in stunning HD for the first time.”

Additionally, PlayStation®Network Trophy support has been added to the franchise for the first time – for both games – and will challenge even the best of players. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Santa Monica Studio, the God of War series brings epic mythological battles to life with stunning graphics and an Olympic plot that puts Kratos, the trilogy’s main character, at the center of carnage and destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him.
God of War Collection has an ESRB rating of “M” for Mature. For more information about the ESRB, visit www.esrb.org. For more information about the God of War franchise, visit www.GodofWar.com.

God of War Storyline
Set in the dark world of ancient Greek mythology, players take on the role of Kratos, a Spartan warrior. Plagued by the nightmares of his past, the ash covered warrior would do anything to be free of his debt to the Gods and the memories that haunt him. For ten years he has labored for Olympus, now on the verge of losing all hope, the Gods have given him one last task. Destroy Ares, the God of War. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, Kratos will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes.

God of War II Storyline
God of War saw Kratos, a mortal warrior, set upon an epic quest to dethrone a God. But his journey did not end there. In God of War II, Kratos sits atop his Olympus throne, as the new God of War – far more ruthless than Ares ever was. To end his continued torment, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal, or god has ever changed… his fate. God of War sets an epic stage for a devastating mythological war to end all wars.

Acclaim for the God of War Franchise
God of War releases have set the bar for the action-adventure genre and been acknowledged by some of the videogame industry’s key publications, which include PlayStation: The Official Magazine (Editor’s Choice Award), Game Informer (Action/Adventure Game of the Year and Handheld Game of the Month Award), GamePro (Editor’s Choice Award), Electronic Gaming Monthly (Best PS2 Game), IGN.com (Editor’s Choice Award and Game of the Year Award), and four nominations in the Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, including Overall Game of the Year and Console Game of the Year. The franchise has also been awarded with several honors including several E3 Best of Game

Awards (given by several online publications), numerous Game of the Year and Best Action Game Awards (given at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards, Golden Joystick Awards, PSX Extreme Awards and the 3rd Annual G-Phoria Awards, and by PAX, GameZone, GameDaily, GameSpot), to name just a few.

After hitting up two local retailers today, one of them being Game Crazy, and not finding the God of War Collection anywhere, I hit the Playstation blog. The blog says that the game launches today, as does Amazon, though Amazon states that it won’t ship til Thursday, November 19. It seems though, that I’m not alone. If you peruse the comments on the Playstation blog, you’ll see that customers all over the place couldn’t find the game. A number of commenters noted that Game Stop said the game will come out tomorrow, November 18. Here’s hoping it’s the same for the rest of the retailers. My local Game Crazy manager said they received the GoW Collection guide books, but no games.

So, Sony, does “launch” really mean “Fed Ex-ing it from our warehouses”?

I’m normally one to completely and utterly ignore nerd rage. Screaming and bitching for a change in a game has always devolved into caps lock, meme throwing and inconsequential, and normally incorrect facts.

But being a nerd, I must occasionally have my nerd rage moments, and I had that moment today.

Why, why, WHY can’t companies agree on a universal date for a game, and not a stupid STREET date and RELEASE date?

If something says the game releases 11/17/09, then why in the HELL do I waltz into my local Gamestop, kindly request my God of War Collection game, and I’m promptly told “Oh, that’s been delayed, it will be out tomorrow.”

Delayed? Did they forget to put the sex mini game back in the beginning?

I cannot fathom why one date, a date that has been set in stone for quite some time, can all of a sudden be changed with no reason at all, the day before. Unlike LBP, which was legitimate, even if it was still a ridiculous reason. But even LBP was earlier than the day it was supposed to be released.

This is definitely not the first time this has happened to me either, to the point that I don’t know who to believe anymore. If a game is going to be released, release it. And if you don’t think it can be released in that certain date, don’t give us a date that is “technically right” and “technically wrong.”

I know there are things that happen during development, or during release that can hinder the process, but obviously it isn’t that huge of a thing if it’s being released tomorrow… supposedly.

I suppose I’ll get over it, but it’s very, very frustrating.

Well, anyway, plus side is I got my God of War III demo, which I shall be enjoying in a few.
