I am buying a fucking egg genie.

I don’t even know what this thing does.  If I had to guess…i’d say it allows you to grow baby chicks from everyday store bought eggs.  

But that’s not the reason to buy it…the reason is that you also get the Bacon Wake….nice play on words…i feel like pot heads everywhere will buy this the second they hear the name…as long as they get the energy to reach into their pocket for their phone.  It just basically lets you make bacon in the microwave.

Is there more…of corse there’s more you fucking moron.  The Magic Chop!  Its the same thing as the Slap Chop but it is significantly less able to defend you from prostitutes.

This product IS Eggsactly what i’m looking for!

So after starting speaking the praise of the egg genie i decided to watch this full commercial…the one i posted here doesn’t include the magic chop like the one on TV does.  I’m ok with the Egg Genie…but I like how they try to tell you a great feature is the loud blaring alarm telling you your eggs are ready.  ”Scare the shit out of your kids and family when they run for their lives when the eggs are ready.”  Then it just shows the dad shaking his head after he yelled fire and his whole family runs through the front door.  ”Now i can finally have my eggs!”  says dad and then it fades to black.  

Although this system is a bit annoying…wouldn’t it be great for couples trying to get pregnant….

“are you tired of the tricky rhythm method!?!?” (shows a couple fumbling over a calendar…and throwing it across the room)

“are you actually gay…a vagina disgusts you so you want to limit sex needed to have a child?”  (shows a gay guy poking at a vagina saying ICK!)

I bought a HTC Hero last friday. Comes in a very small white hard box, so small you might thought it’s a budget, no frill phone.
First impression when I took it out of the box: Robust, heavy, feels good in the hand.

Power up the phone and I waited for maybe more than a minute to be able to start using the phone.

The optical ball seems like a good idea, but i seldom used it once I get used to poking the screen. The only time I used it is for the camera. You have to press the ball to capture an image, not good for self portrait. Second thing not good: no flash! So night shot is dark. Third thing not good: slow to take a picture. So, not really a camera replacement. Only good, u can pin point where you want the camera to focus by touching the screen.

The design is the update of the once-upon-a-time Nokia banana phone. That is not good as it does not work on a standard phone holder in the car, I dropped it thrice due to its shape. Now I placed it horizontal, since the screen can tilt anyway (it has accelerometer) but still not as secure.

Now all the good parts. The phone can be charged using your laptop via USB. Charging takes about the same time as most power hungry phone.

Touchscreen buttons are always not as good as a physical keypad but I managed to survive by used the virtual keypad, after a while, I can be equally as fast. As an after thought, it took me just as much time as any other phone to learn it, there after it’s fun all the way. I am still learning it now since I am still exploring, but it’s great dicovery.

Like most interactive user interface that is not an apple or microsoft, you can customise your ”desktop” with the applications that you will use most of the time. The widgets are great. One thing that surprizes me (might not be new to others) is the clock that updates itself without any setting up. Actually, the phone did not need much of a setting up. It is up and running within a minute. It even telling me the weather of the exact location, not the country or city but the town! WiFi is auto, and no set up for the internet as well.

SMS is like a chat platform. Contact search is the same just that it doesn’t go back to the top when you have gone to the bottom, so that’s a boring part but the contact itself is now linked to facebook and twitter, and that is very neat! You can read about your contacts’ everyday living just like the facebook lite and, you can scroll through their recent updated photos just the same way as you would in your photo gallery, meaning, it’s fast and efficient. Viewing the photo, I have to add, is like photoshop.com. 

Its Android so it is everything google. Gmail is already there for you. Google map is great as a simple GPS, signal is good. Internet upload is fast. As is most latest touchscreen, you can pinch to enlarge or reduce and move through a full webpage, so I don’t need to view lite versions any more and the bookmark is like google chrome, I like! I tried the Youtube last night, streaming is fast, or maybe it’s already loaded somewhere. So far, all the applications I have used, there is no lagging!

Call wise, it’s loud and clear although sometimes it’s broken reception. Could be the service provider and not the phone’s fault though, I do not know for sure.

Synchronising with the PC takes a bit of setting up but after that its working the same way as most phones.

Power consumption is bad the last few days. I had to charge everyday, but what do you expect, I am exploring and using all the functions extensively… so not a good benchmark.

I am still happy as of today, it’s a definite major upgrade from my Nokia E71. Good phone!

Danny Lyon spoke out last week about Google books’ disregard for rights, artistic craft and common respect. In Google vs. The Bikeriders he lays out a short and no nonsense argument.

Lyon doesn’t oppose digital distribution of his work – he just doesn’t want it scanned en masse. He wants publishers, software programmers and artists to do the work.

On the existence of books, Lyon warned, “I’d be real careful about messing with this stuff.  I’m not sure I would want to live without them.”

The Bikeriders 1968, The Destruction of Lower Manhattan 1969, and Conversations with the Dead 1971, were all out of print within two years of their publications. They had all been remaindered by their publishers and would remain out of print for at least twenty years each.

“Conversations” is still out of print. Under Google’s new rules, Conversations with the Dead could be scanned and put on line by Google without even contacting me. Many photo book makers are torn between standing up for their rights, and “being left out” by the Ruler of the Internet.

So what is wrong with having Goggle (sic) bring my out of print work to the world wide web?

1) It is theft. Ownership of out of print work reverts to the author (me). Copyright has worked well in America for centuries and is part of the foundation of our Democracy and the Ist Amendment. I own my writing and my work. They really do have to ask.

2) Picture books are different. You cannot scan them and put them on the internet. Scanning a printed image destroys the beauty of the work which is embedded in the work itself. That is why authors make picture books. They are making a thing of beauty. That is why printers, ink, paper, and publishers and production managers are all so important. They all work  to create a thing of beauty, a book. In this case, as picture book.

There is nothing wrong with putting a picture book on the internet. But that can only be done the way a book is printed, which is to scan the individual images.  It is the difference between “the real thing” and a bad xerox of it.

If they want “Conversations with the Dead” on the internet they have to work with publishers, who employ the people to make the prints and make the scans and recreate the book for internet use, just the way a person makes a good website.

That’s a lot of work that will create a lot of jobs, and it should.

Publishers are the people to do this, as they are in the book business. Google seems intent on destroying the book business and its just possible, that they will.

Books, the printed smelly kind you hold in your hand, have been part of and have helped advance civilization for five hundred years. The Greeks and Ancient Jews used papyrus rolls, which they also held to write on, and to read, 2,500 years ago.  I’d be real careful about messing with this stuff.  I’m not sure I would want to live without them.

I am amazed that Lyon even needs to fight a corner on this. He surely is more valuable to us than scanned copies of his books.

YouTube Cooking the Books on Obama Worship Video?

If you’ve been around the internet for long, you know that Google is like most major media organizations today: liberal to the core.  They ignore patriotic holidays with their rotating search engine logos, conservative websites seem to have an unusually hard time getting good coverage in search rankings, and so on.

Maybe you also heard about the video of schoolchildren being led in a worshipful song about Barack Obama that was reminiscent of “Jesus Loves the Little Children.”  That video disappeared from YouTube earlier this morning…only to be replaced by someone who had the foresight to download a copy of it before it disappeared.

Now comes word from Selwyn Duke at RenewAmerica of some funny business with the viewership stats on this video at YouTube.

Duke said he checked the video himself and saw only 363 hits at 1:04 pm…while it had 2,279 comments.  What’s wrong with this picture?  Even touchy-feely liberal self-esteem-friendly math can’t seem to account for this.

So he tracked it further…

I tracked the video a bit myself. Now, remember that it had 363 hits at 1:04 p.m. Here’s what I found.

• Approximately 1:25 p.m.: the video still supposedly had only 363 hits but had 2,500 comments.
• 1:39 p.m.: still only 363 hits but 2,668 comments.
• 2:16 p.m.: 363 hits but 3,018 comments.

You get the idea.

Yes, we do get the idea.

Is it just a glitch at YouTube? Or is it a clumsy but deliberate attempt by Leftist Google to keep the hit ranking of this video low so that it doesn’t make “Top Video” listings which would give it even more exposure?

Liberals feel a virtually irresistible compulsion to protect their Obamessiah from blasphemy or other negative comments, so it seems quite credible that Google doesn’t want the Obamessiah receiving any more negative exposure than he already is through this video.

It ain’t easy being a truth-teller in an age of liberal dominance…but it’s worth it all the same!

HA! Last night when I saw this video linked off of Drudge, I noticed the number of hits on it was very low, though I can’t remember the actual number, it was only a few hundred. I was thinking this video is on DRUDGE, and this hit-count can’t be right! I thought the same thing then that you and Selwyn are saying. I knew this would “hit the fan” today, and I’m not surprised You Tube tried to bury it. These evil maniacs on the left are unbridled in their fervor to protect Obamination’s image. De entrada parece que Google Wave puede hacer obsoleto al Gmail, Basecamp, Facebook, Office, Messenger, Flickr y los Wikis. Un email que se convierte en wiki, que se convierte en centro de conversación, que se convierte en un trabajo final, que hasta puede convertirse en un blogpost. Y sobre todo, queda ordenadito para toda la vida.

Lo que Google nos enseñó en Mayo es un preview para desarrolladores, pero de entrada podemos decir, sin dudas, que las tecnologías detrás de Google Wave cambiarán la web. Más todavía en esta estrategia de Opensource que hará que desde cualquier entorno podamos explotar esta funcionalidad y hacerla funcionar desde nuestra Intranet.

I received an email from a very well-known and prestigious local company yesterday, trying to entice me to buy advertising space for another website that I run.  It was very short and sweet (probably no more than 50 words long) so the two major spelling errors stuck out like a sore thumb.  The writer said he had found me on Goggle …. and advertising with them may increase both my sales and my Goggle ranking.

It caused a smile but I can’t help feeling that using spill chook before sneding might hlep to giver a bitter imppression when marketing!

Mentre le proteste in Iran giungono alla loro seconda settimana, un utente di Google che si fa chiamare Xárene Eskandar ha cominciato a seguire le attività su una mappa di Google, registrando gli eventi come vengono riportati ogni giorno.

L’ultima mappa di mercoledì rintraccia gli eventi ora per ora e mostra i movimenti dei van e degli elicotteri militari delle forze speciali mentre avanzano verso i protestatori, oltre ai luoghi in cui i protestatori hanno riportato l’uso di armi da fuoco.

Le mappe sono molto simili a quelle create l’anno scorso per fare il crowdsourcing delle infromazioni ricevute dai “citizen journalists“, (o giornalisti civili) sulla violenza avvenuta in Kenya a seguito delle controverse elezioni. Nel caso del Kenya, un attivista ha sviluppato un software chiamato Ushahidi (“testimone” in Swahili) che ha permesso di contribuire a tutti con informazioni, email e sms. Queste informazioni potevano essere coordinate da un amministratore che mandava una segnalazione istantanea ai protestatori e agli altri citizen journalist e postava i dati su  Google Maps. Il software è disponibile a tutti online.

Per quanto riguarda le proteste in Iran, nonostante siano cominciate come espressione di dissenso per i risultati delle elezioni, sembra che si siano presto trasnformate in in un movimento di massa a favore di riforme per i diritti civili, simboleggiate dalle iconiche immagini di Neda Agha Soltan, la giovane donna che è stata uccisa sabato da un cecchino del governo mentre osservava la protesta.

Prima che morisse, gli ultimi orribili istanti di vita di Soltan sono stati catturati in video da due cellulari, e ci è voluto poco perché si difondessero per la rete. Un altro video mostra Soltan a fianco ad un uomo che è stato identificato come il suo insegnante di musica (indossa un maglietta a righe), pochi secondi prima che venisse uccisa. Secondo quanto riportato dalle news pare che fossero rimasti chiusi nella macchina a causa del traffico e che fossero usciti solo per prendere un po’ d’aria e osservare la protesta.

Secondo molti la morte di Soltan ha dato inizio ad un movimento inarrestabile. Il suo volto è comparso in molti poster per le strade di Tehran.

Google sudah sedemikian canggih dalam pencarian data sehingga semua informasi di internet dapat kita cari dengan mudah . Dengan bantuan operator pencarian Google , kita dapat dengan mudah mencari sebuah atau beberapa file MP3 di internet .
Pada prinsipnya , kita akan mencari string spesifik seperti mp3 , “index of”,”last modified”,”parent of” dan sebagainya . String tersebut merupakan string yang biasa kita jumpai pada sebuah Directory Listing di web server . Directory Listing adalah fitur dari web server yang dapat menampilkan isi sebuah direktori . Contohnya seperti di sini . Jadi sebenarnya kita akan mencari Directory Listing yang berisikan file file MP3 .

Sebenarnya ada beberapa cara untuk mencari file MP3 , tapi kita akan mencoba mengulas cara pencarian menggunakan trik Directory Listing karena merupakan cara paling umum digunakan saat ini dan hasilnya lumayan .

3 format umum yang biasa digunakan dalam pencarian:

Type 1 : [Directory String] + (inurl:)[file type] + [mp3 name]
Type 2 : [Directory String] + (intitle:)[file type] + [mp3 name]
Type 3 : [Directory String] + [file type] + [mp3 name] + [limitors]

[Directory String] merupakan string spesifik yang biasa kita jumpai di awal list . Ada beberapa yang bisa digunakan seperti : “index of”,”last modified”,”parent of” .

(inurl) (intitle) : operator pencarian di Google .

[file type] adalah jenis file yang akan kita cari . Direpresentasikan dalam format ekstensi dari file tersebut . Misalnya : MP3 , WMA , OGG dsb

[mp3 name] adalah nama file yang akan kita cari . Tidak perlu komplit . Cukup string tertentu saja yang kira kira unik dan terdapat dalam nama file yang akan kita cari . Jadi bisa berupa potongan nama lagu atau nama artisnya . Misalnya : “Radiohead” , “Kokoro no tomo”, dsb

[limitors] digunakan untuk menyaring result yang kita inginkan dari page yang tidak diharapkan . Karena biasanya directory listing ini adalah sebuah direktori alias tidak ada ekstensi maka kita harus menyaring result yang memiliki ekstensi umum seperti html , php , htm , asp dan sebagainya .

Misalnya kita akan mencoba mencari file MP3 dari Fort Minor . String pencariannya adalah :

“index of” + “mp3″ + “fort minor” -html -htm -php

Lalu bagaimana jika kita ingin mendapatkan kumpulan MP3 dari seorang artis saja , misalnya Fatboy Slim . Gampang ! gunakan saja operator inurl , misalnya inurl:”fatboy” akan memberikan result dimana URL-nya terdapat string “fatboy” seperti url berikut : http://www.mp3ster.ru/mp3/mp3_1/F/Fatboy%2520Slim/ . Query lengkapnya adalah :

“index of” + “mp3″ + inurl:”Fatboy” -html -htm -php

Beberapa hasil pencarian mungkin sudah invalid sehingga tidak bisa bisa diakses lagi . Bagaimana mensiasatinya ?? gampang ! setiap file di direktori memiliki timestamp yang menunjukkan kapan terakhir file diupload . Tinggal kita tambahkan saja string timestamp untuk memperbaiki hasil pencarian . Di kasus pencarian Fatboy , sebenarnya saya juga mengalami kendala mendapatkan hasil yang valid krn sebagian besar sudah invalid . Tapi setelah trik “timestamp” ini ditambahkan .. walaa.. didapat beberapa direktori yang khusus untuk menyimpan MP3 dari Fatboy Slim . Querynya seperti ini

“index of” + “mp3″ + “2005″ + inurl:”Fatboy” -html -htm -php

Dapat dilihat saya menambahkan angka 2005 sebagai penunjuk bahwa saya menginginkan hasil terbaru yaitu file yang memiliki timestamp tahun 2005 . Tanggal dan bulan bisa juga digunakan asal kita tahu formatnya .

Setelah memahami konsep pencarian file MP3 dengan Google tentunya tidak akan sulit jika ingin mencari file lainnya seperti e-book , jpeg pictures , movies , camera .

A SLEAZY teacher at one of Scotland’s top fee-paying schools has been caught watching pornography websites – while he was teaching a class of 13 year-olds.

Dr Jeremy Dobson, 35, a physics teacher at the exclusive Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen, accessed restricted websites which featured pictures of naked and half-naked female models.

The science teacher also took a memory stick containing pornographic images from his home to use on school computers during class time.

But the father-of-five denied trying to disguise his online behaviour from the school’s IT staff by using anonymiser websites in an attempt to mask his web history.

He even tried blaming his vile acts on his wife’s post-natal depression.

Dobson, from Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, is also said to have checked various adult porn sites at his home for their access suitability at the school.

The incidents took place over the period of one week in February 2007, and were discovered by the College’s IT department after Dobson showed high-levels of web activity.

Yesterday (Mon 16/03), the disgraced teacher appeared before a sub-committee of the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS) in Edinburgh, and received a reprimand which will stay on his teaching record for five years.

But, anti-pornography campaigners have slammed the decision calling it “shocking” and “disappointing”.

Dobson, who represented himself at the GTCS hearing, admitted the charges of using the school system to access pornography, but, in mitigation, blamed his conduct on depression.

He said: “I’d like to accept the facts of the case and apologise for my actions. After moving to Aberdeenshire we continually struggled with debt that caused great distress on my marriage.

“After having our latest baby, my wife suffered from post-natal depression and I had to deal with telephone calls from her every day while I was at work.

“I received two written warnings about my attendance due to looking after my wife.

“I was stressed and needed help. I hated myself. I hurt no-one but myself and my family, and there were no child protection issues.”

The physics teacher is said to have accessed the pornographic images while teaching youngsters in S1 and S6 classes.

Dobson is then said to have used anonimiser websites which are designed to make activity on websites untraceable.

He said: “I wasn’t trying to hide my behaviour, and I believe I, subconsciously, was trying to get caught.

“I now feel the whole thing was a form of self-harm. I was not being professional, I was going through a nervous breakdown.”

Gordon Crosher, head of the Robert Gordon’s IT department, had a disciplinary meeting with Dobson in 2007 to air his concerns about the science teacher’s “high ranks of surfing” and the “excessive number of sites” he had visited.

The college’s Network Manager had also noticed Dobson’s web history contained several hundred Google hits with phrases such as “babe picture”, and that downloaded female images had been categorised into separate folders with titles such as “hard core”.

And on February 5 2007 Dobson was hauled into a meeting with the school’s Head of College Hugh Ouston where he did not deny any of the allegations against him.

During the meeting it is claimed Dobson’s only worries were if he was dismissed would he still receive a reference from the school, and how would the information be communicated to his family.

He was instantly dismissed from his position at the top school.

In issuing the official reprimand Tom Kirk, chair of the panel, said: “Both charges have been proved and considering the nature of the charges the standards fall short of what is expected of a teacher.

“The public interest would not be met with your removal from the teaching register. It was a finely balanced decision and any further examples of this conduct will see harsher actions being taken.”

Dobson was employed as a physics teacher at Robert Gordon’s and worked beside six other members of staff in the department.

Liz Smith, Conservative Education Minister, said: “The GTC have been very careful to adhere to the correct procedures, and this is a very serious charge.

“It looks to me that Robert Gordon’s College has taken the correct decision, and it would seem he will find it difficult to find another job.

“This is not something parents and pupils should accept at a school such as Robert Gordon’s.”

And Lewis MacDonald, Labour MSP for Aberdeen Central, said: “It is extremely important that young people are protected from this sort of thing.”

A spokesperson for the College said: “Robert Gordon’s College can confirm that Dr Dobson worked as a teacher at the school from August 2006 to February 2007.”

Linda Thompson, a spokesperson for the Women’s Support Project, said: “The Women’s Support Project is disappointed the GTC did not use this opportunity to send a clear message that it does not accept nor condone the use of pornography by its staff.

“Pornography in and of itself is harmful – it sexualises harm, violence and power with those most directly affected tending to be women and children.  It is shocking that the GTC issued only a reprimand to this member of staff, when in other employment sectors, it would be the grounds for dismissal.

“The fact that this teacher accessed pornography whilst working in a classroom setting would suggest that its easy accessibility is being exploited and may be an issue again in the future.”

Robert Gordon’s College charges almost £9,000 per year for pupils to attend the highly-rated senior school.

The College’s former alumni include Conservative MP Michael Gove, former leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats Nicol Stephen and Scottish billionaire Sir Ian Wood.

A little over a year ago my son in an attempt to modernise his dear old dad signed me up for a Facebook account.  At the time I went along with it trying to be hip and do the good old dad thing.  After a couple of days though I left it alone as i wasn’t really that into letting every know what I was up to.

Then six months later I get an email from Facebook telling me that a person with a surname I never heard of was trying to reach me.  So it got the better of me and I signed in for the first time in over six months.  Low and behold it turned out to be a mate from high school I hadn’t seen in over 20 years, who had changed his surname to his fathers surname, hence why I didn’t recognise it to start of with. 

Now I’m sure this story isn’t anything new to most Facebookers, Twitters or Myspacers, but it got me intrigued because had my son not signed me up, well I could assume we would have never had caught up had it not been for facebook.  So I began using it a little more and started bringing it up in conversations withs mates, which to my surprise most of them were using it.

I might just add though it has taken me some time to be able to put personal stuff out there for most to read about but I am becoming a little bit easier about it.

In the little investigating I have been doing though I have found that a few of my friends are using these platforms for a number of reasons.  Some have businesses that they communicate with clients on, updating them about specials etc, others are selling stuff and most are just being social.

In the past few weeks I have become or set up accounts with these platforms as I have a goal to see if I can make $50,000 over the next 12 months creating what I have called “tehbe”.

What is tehbe, well tehbe is hopefully going to become very knowledgable about these platforms and others in an attempt to achieve that magic mark – $50,000.

Why $50,000, why not.  I could have made it any amount, but this is what popped into my head.

And the interesting thing about this is that anybody can follow me because it’s really all about knowledge, which is what the internet is about.
