Okay so I didn’t actually wear this outfit today since I was at school doing a French writing exam, which turned out assez bien just in case you were wondering, but since my school has done the unspeakable and actually given us a non-uniform day, I thought I’d plan my outfit early. I bought the blazer quite recently and haven’t had an opportunity to wear it; I decided this would be the perfect time to take off the tags and try it out. A boyfriend blazer is something I’ve wanted since forever and I wanted to make sure I styled it right for the occasion, making the blazer the main focus of the outfit. I paired it with light wash skinny jeans, a plain white tank top, a gold chain necklace and black Chelsea Boots.

Do you Etsy?  If you haven’t discovered etsy.com yet, you are missing out.  Its like a wonderful land of creativity and, for the most part, loveliness.  Its like the ebay of homemade/handmade items, except its all sales and no auctions.  And I’ve discovered its a great place for jewelry. Not for gemstones, though you can find them too, but for unique and costume accessories without breaking the bank.  Here are some items I’ve been eyeing – though I better get to buying before they get snatched up!

Delicate yet funky bracelet.

Cute twist on a very popular J. Crew style, for those not looking for quite as large a statement. There are more colors on the site.

Fun two-toned bangel set. Delicate and sophisticated yet fun.

Love the color! Would look good layered with other delicate gold chain necklaces.

Dainty and pretty for layering for that “arm candy” look, or good on its own for a little delicate wrist sparkle.

The LBD.

I paired the dress with some gold chain necklaces, mesh bracelet and rhinestone earrings, black platform pumps and a gold handbag. I must admit, I felt a little silly taking pictures of myself in my backyard, using my dad’s tripod and the self-timer on my camera, but it’s all for you dolls!

Simple day look, with a twist!

Cheeks, Nars Blush in Orgasm (my absolute favorite, so flattering), Sephora; Bronzer, Too Faced Pink Leopard bronzer, Ulta; Lips, Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss in Rosegold, Amazon (I actually got mine over the weekend at HEB on sale).

The twist is the blue liner!

I used my new Urban Decay Vice Palette and an eye pencil from the Ocho Loco set for this look, which you can read about here and here. I used UD’s Eyeshadow Potion Primer in Original, with Anonymous going from brow to the crease, followed by Nevermind on the lid. In the outer corner going into the crease, I used Occupy and topped it all off with LSD eye pencil on the top and bottom followed by lots of mascara, a little frosty white pencil on the brow bone and a little brow pencil.

To transition this to a night look, add a little more of the darker eyeshadow and then layer black eyeliner over the blue, as close to the lash line as you can get.

There you have it! A simple look that can be breezy for the day or sassy for a night out.

From looking at this image, would you be able to tell that it was HAND MADE? No, I’m not talking about hand made in China, I’m talking about really really hand made.

I am always posting DIY stuff on Pinterest, but do I ever Do It? Nope! This actually looks like something I’d be able to do though. I have seen these gold chain necklaces around and loved them but they always seem to cost so much! So why not DIY! Finding the materials is easy – it’s finding the time that may give me some issues…

When I bought it, I wasn’t sure where it would be most fitting to wear, but I wore it to work regardless. Retail management, three-ring circus. Same diff. I didn’t even realize how circus-y it is until I was doing paperwork and noticed the cuffs. Awesome.

Full disclosure: the jacket is from Britney Spears‘ line for Candie’s at Kohl’s. Also Britney inspired? My roots. But don’t worry. I have a cut and color scheduled bright and early Wednesday.

This was an almost $50 jacket, originally. I got it for $4 because of a 50% off sale at Christmas and combined $10 off coupons. Ridiculous bargain! Plus, while walking to the bank this morning, I got catcalled by two sketch dudes at a bustop. So you see, it’s already paid for itself in compliments.
