Suspect Held In Deadly Colorado Springs Bar Shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – A 26-year-old man is facing murder charges following a Colorado Springs bar shooting that left a man dead and a woman wounded.

Police say Dwight Gordon Jr. of Colorado Springs was arrested during an investigation into the shooting at the Golden Cue Bar.

Several hundred people were at the bar when the shooting erupted just before 1 a.m. Saturday.

The man who was shot was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The woman was hospitalized with a leg wound. Their names weren’t released.

There was no word on what prompted the violence, but police say Gordon is being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on first degree murder charges.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Authorities are investigating after a man was fatally shot and a woman was injured at a Colorado Springs bar.

Police say several hundred people were at the Golden Cue Bar when the shooting happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday.

The Gazette reports the man who was shot was taken to Fort Carson’s Evans Army Community Hospital in a private car and was later pronounced dead. Police Lt. Elden Stromer told The Denver Post the woman, who was shot in the leg, also was hospitalized but is expected to recover.

Police have not released any details on what may have led to the shooting or who pulled the trigger. The names of the victims have not been released.
