via: MediaPost

There’s been no shortage of hype and hot air surrounding the release of the Droid, from the $100 million ad campaign Verizon launched to promote the phone to the latest Apple ads firing back at Verizon’s “iDon’t” spots attacking the iPhone.

That’s not to mention the myriad head-to-head comparisons between the Droid and the iPhone that have been posted online and whether the Motorola device will emerge as a true challenger to the smartphone crown over time. One area where the Droid already appears to be having an impact, though, is in mobile advertising.

The Droid already accounts for nearly a quarter (24%) of the ad impressions generated by Android-powered phones worldwide in the two week’s following its Nov. 6 launch, according to the latest data from mobile ad network AdMob. That made it second only to the G1, the initial Android phone launched last year, which had a 36% share.

With the release of other handsets including the myTouch 3G from T-Mobile and the HTC Hero from Sprint, Android in October increased its share of impressions to 20%, up from 17% the prior month. Based on its strong start, the Droid looks likely to overtake the G1 as the pointy edge of the Android spear in advertising.

But the Google operating system still has a ways to go to catch up with the iPhone OS, which represents 55% of smartphone impressions among in the U.S. and 50% globally. But we’ll see what the Droid does in the coming months.

After the release of OS 2 for Android and Droid earlier this year, came Adobe’s Photoshop version for Android phones. Photoshop.com released it’s Mobile application for Android this month. This new App competes with Photoshop’s Mobile App for Iphone. This new App gives users the ability to batch edit their photos, to color correct them and to enjoy many other photoshop features on the Android phone.

Techchee comments on the new version, stating that “Of course, the mobile version of the Photoshop is different from the full-fledged version. You could only carry out some simple tasks on your Android phones. But it should be more than sufficient for those who’d love to twist some photos before uploading them to Facebook for sharing.”

In order to use the application users are required to open a ‘free Photoshop.com’ account and get the application from the Android market. The best bit about this App is that now you can edit your images online anywhere/anytime through your phone.

The Android 2.0 platform comes with new features, one of them being it’s camera. The features of the camera include:

Built-in flash support

Digital zoom

Scene mode

White balance

Color effect

Macro focus

Tudo parte do plano. E o Nook da Barnes & Noble movido a Android? Não deveria ser surpresa. Navegadores Android? Por que não? PMPs?

Isto importa.

Ademais, o Android começará a adentrar as nossas vidas e nossos lugares onde menos esperamos.

Droid Does Ads

So as I prepare to leave the corporate world (hopefully forever), obviously the most pressing question I’m struggling with is what will replace my crappy blackberry. I currently have an old beatup blackberry (8707v) and a God-awful plan because my company has issues with being on an intelligent or efficient smartphone plan, but that’s another post. Anyways, it has gotten me through some rough patches and definitely saved my butt a few times so I will miss it and the times we had – sigh.

But I’m THRILLED to be moving into the modern era and get me a smart phone that the rest of the connected world is actually using. I believe I’ll take a break from RIM for a while so am now considering the iPhone or an Android phone. In Hong Kong, the primary offering is the HTC Hero though I will likely hold out until a new version with Android 2.0 hits the market. Anyone know when that will be???

I found this video from Dogfight to be useful and sway me towards an Android phone. Long-story short, the “open-ness” of the Hero and the re-engineered focus on connectivity across networks certainly makes the Hero a contender to iPhone, though the initial versions of Android (“cupcake” and “donut“) fell a tad short of the iPhone experience. The early reviews of the Android 2.0 OS suggest a much better user experience and hence, a bloody rematch where Android phones may emerge victorious.

Android vs. iPhone: Which Has the More Advanced Users?

JR Raphael, PC World

// Nov 20, 2009 3:56 am

It seems the mobile world is full of silly little battles these days. You’ve got the AT&T-Verizon ad assault. There’s that ever-popular Droid-iPhone rivalry. And then, of course, everyone’s favorite Google Phone debate: Is there a Google Phone? If there were one, would it harm other Android phones? Or could it become — gasp — the elusive iPhone killer?

We won’t be discussing the Google Phone any further here today (you can thank me later), but we will be keeping with the spirit of trivial competition. Personal preferences aside, I think we can all accept that the Android and iPhone platforms both have their strengths and weaknesses. So our new battle: Which mobile system has the more advanced users?

Android vs. iPhone: The Mobile Web

Ready? Our first measure of advanced functionality is the mobile Web. Both the iPhone and the Android platform are designed for easy Internet browsing — so which platform’s users are most likely to take advantage of the InterWebbial SuperSpeedway?

Turns out it’s Android’s. According to new data collected by Nielsen and compiled by eMarketer, owners of Android phones are the most likely to use their device’s Internet functionality. Ninety-two percent of Androiders say they take utilize their phone’s Web connection, compared to 88 percent of iPhone owners. Both devices are well above the curve for smartphone owners in general, however, where the overall Net-using percentage is only 71.

Android vs. iPhone: Social Activity

If Android owners are slightly more Web-enabled, iPhone fans are slightly more social. As this chart of ComScore data demonstrates, iPhone users come out on top when it comes to most advanced social-oriented phone activities — everything from sharing photos to spending time on social networks and blogs.

Only in video-specific social activity does the Android clan pull ahead again, with significantly higher percentages of users capturing video and sharing it over the Net. (More Android users also watch video on their phones, according to Nielsen’s numbers.)

Android vs. iPhone: Mobile Apps

How ’bout them apps? This one may be a bit surprising — after all, you’d expect to see iPhone owners apping it up more often, given the 100,000 options at their fingertips. Android owners, however, come out just barely ahead in the relative realm of application usage: Seventy-six percent of them say they utilize apps, according to Nielsen, while 74 percent of iPhone owners say they make use of their mobile programs.

Android vs. iPhone: The Big Picture

Here’s the good news: Both iPhone and Android users can grab some bragging rights from these studies. The truth is the two platforms are neck-in-neck when it comes to using most of the so-called “advanced functions” — and practically every other mobile phone system is struggling to keep up.

See? We all have something to celebrate. Just don’t tell AT&T and Verizon, or they’re liable to start another ad war over it.

CharSequence str = getString(R.id.strID);

DisplayMetrics dm = new DisplayMetrics();
getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getMetrics(dm);
width = dm.widthPixels;
height = dm.heightPixels;

3. AlertDialog
new AlertDialog.Builder(project.this)
.setTitle(R.string.title_string)
.setMessage(R.string.message_string)
.setPositiveButton(“OK”, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() {
pulblic void onClick(DialogInterface dialoginterface, int i) {
//設計按下對話框按鈕時, 所要執行的事件
}
})
.show();

mText.setTypeface(Typeface.createFormAsset(getAssets(), “fonts/HandmadeTypewriter.ttf”));
Resources.StyledAttributes resFont = getContext().obtainStyledAttributes(attrs, R.styleable.UnicodeTextView);
String fontName = resFont.getString(R.styleable.UnicodeTextView_font);   // 需注意判斷取出的字型是否為 NULL

5. Menu
Method: onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) & onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item)
public static final id1 = Menu.First;
public static final id2 = Menu.First + 1;
public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) {
menu.add(0, id1, 0, R.string.app_opt1);
menu.add(0, id2, 0, R.string.app_opt2);
}

public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(menuItem item) {
super.onOptionsItemSelected(item);
switch(item.getItemId()) {
case id1:

                  break;

            case id2:

                  break;
}
}

6. ProgressDialog 執行中
ProgressDialog myDialog = ProgressDialog.show(project.this, strDialogTitle, strDialogBody, true);
卸除: myDialog.dismiss();

(EditText) mEditText.setOnKeyListener(new EditText.OnKeyListener() {
public boolean onKey(View arg0, int arg1, KeyEvent arg2) {

      }
});

(Toast)
Toast.makeText(project.this, “Toast_str”, showLength).show();
Toast mToast = new Toast(this);
ImageView mView = new ImageView(this);
mView.setImageResource(R.drawable.icom);
mToast.setView(mView);
mToast.show();

(RadioGroup) mRadioGroup.setOnCheckedChangeListener(mChangeRadio);

private RadioGroup.OnCheckedChangeListener mChangeRadio = new RadioGroup.OnCheckedChangeListener() {
public void onCheckedChanged(RadioGroup group, int checkedID) {

      }
}

(ImageView) mImageView.setImageDrawable(getResources().getDrawable(R.drawable.icom));
(ImageView) mImageView.setImageResource(R.drawable.icom);

11. Spinner
ArrayAdapter<String> adapter = new ArrayAdapter<String>(this, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_item, string_array);
// 設定下拉單樣式
adapter.setDropDwonViewResource(R.layout.mySpinnerLayout);
(Spinner) mSpinner.setAdapter(adapter);
// 監聽事件
mSpinner.setOnItemSelectedListener(new Spinner.OnItemSelectedListener() {});

(Animation)
// 取得 Animation 定義在 res/anim 目錄下的 XML
mAnimation = Animation.loadAnimation(this, R.anim.my_anim);
(View) view.startAnimation(mAnimation);
// XML 格式
<set xmlns:android=http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android>
<translate
android:fromXDelta=”0″
android:toXDelta=”-100%p”
android:duration=”300″
/>
<alpha
android:fromAlpha=”1.0″
android:toAlpha=”0.0″
android:duration=”300″
/>
</set>
Animation
tweened animation (漸變動畫)
AlphaAnimation (transparency changes):
RotateAnimation (rotations):
ScaleAnimation (growing or shrinking):
TranslateAnimation (position changes):
frame by frame animation

Layout
// 新增 LinearLayout
LinearLayout mLinearLayout = new LinearLayout(this);
mLinearLayout.setOrientation(LinearLayout.VERTICAL);
mLinearLayout.setBackgroundColor(android.griphics.Color.WHITE);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams param = new LinearLayout.LayoutParams(
LinearLayout.LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT, LinearLayout.LinearParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
TextView mTextView = new TextView(this);
mLinearLayout.addView(mTextView, param);
ImageView mImageView = new ImageView(this);
LinearLayout.LayoutParams param1 = new LinearLayout.LinearParams(
LinearLayout.LinearParams.FILL_PARENT, LinearLayout.LinearParams.WRAP_CONTENT);
mLinearLayout.addView(mImageView, param1);
setContentView(mLinearLayout);

File file = new File(filename);
if(file.exists()) {
Bitmap bm = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(filename);
(ImageView) mImageView.setImageBitmap(bm);
}

Bitmap bmp = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(), R.darwable.icon);
// (float) scaleWidth: 縮放寬度
// (float) scaleHeight: 縮放高度
bmpWidth = bmp.getWidth();
bmpHeight = bmp.getHeight();
Matrix matrix = new Matrix();
matrix.postScale(scaleWidth, scaleHeight);
Bitmap resizeBmp = Bitmap.createBitmap(bmp, 0, 0, bmpWidth, bmpHeight, matrix, true);

Bitmap bmp = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(getResources(), R.drawable.icon);
bmpWidth = bmp.getWidth();
bmpHeight = bmp.getHeight();
Matrix matrix = new Matrix();
matrix.postScale(scaleWidth, scaleHeight);
matrix.setRotate(-5);
Bitmap resizeBmp = Bmp.createBitmap(bmp, 0, 0, bmpWidth, bmpHeight, matrix, true);

(Linkify)
(TextView) mTextView = new TextView(this);
Linkify.addLinks(mTextView, Linkify.WEB_URLS | Linkify.EMAIL_ADDRESSES | Linkify.PHONE_NUMBERS);
// 在 XML 中的 TAG 為 android:autoLink = “web|phone|email”

Runtime Error, android.permission.CALL_PHONE)
String phoneNum = mEditText.getText().toString();
if(isPhoneNumberValid(phoneNumber)) {
// Intent mIntentDail = new Intent(“android.intent.action.CALL”, Uri.parse(“tel:” + phoneNumber));
Intent mIntentDail = new Intent(“android.intent.action.DAIL”, Uri.parse(“tel:” + phoneNumber));
startActivity(mIntentDail);
}

public static boolean isPhoneNumberValid(String phoneNumber) {
boolean isVaild = false;
/* 可接受的電話格式有:
* ^\\(? : 可以使用 “(” 開頭

autorun.inf
é a localização absoluta do arquivo infectado dentro do pendrive.

O Papavírus identifica o arquivo infectado e o remove, bem como remove o arquivo
autorun.inf

Sergey Brin, one of google founder’s, predicts that Google Chrome (newly arrived in its Google Chrome OS form) and Google’s mobile device OS Android will eventually merge.

Though Google Chrome and Android were developed separately, Brin said he expects the two will become closer and more integrated now both projects are public.

“A subsequent version of Android is going to pick up a lot of the Chrome stack,” said Brin, suggesting that Android will take advantage of some of Google Chrome’s programming advances.

Brin also suggested that the brand name is likely to change: “My guess is we’ll have ‘Chrome Lite’ or something similar.” Looks like Brin’s planning to take a leaf out of Adobe’s playbook with Flash Lite.

Chrome and Android both use WebKit, an open-source project, at the heart of their browser, so it’s understandable that Google is looking to combine the two.
