Google announced top searches of 2009 by the UK users indicating Spotify, Ebay, Facebook, Swine Flue, and celebrities amongst others at the top of the list.

While Bing released US-centric trends for the searches made on it, Google’s concentrated approach seems to have caught a lot of interest as of indicating a more regional approach.

“Britons had mixed feelings as they headed online this year to search for their favourite online tools, to learn about celebrities new and old, and to find a good bargain,” revealed Google spokesperson Anthony House.

“People searched about new sensations like Lady Gaga and Susan Boyle, but they also turned to the web to learn about the deaths of Stephen Gately, Jade Goody and Michael Jackson.”

Google Site mulai berbenah. Kini dengannya, kita akan lebih mudah menciptakan tata letak laman, tautan untuk navigasi dan juga menambahkan gadget. Template barunya tersedia untuk kepentingan intranet, situs, laman profil pekerja dan situs lainnya. Dengan Google Site, setiap dokumen yang disertakan akan menjadi dikonvert menjadi sebuah URL agar mudah berkomunikasi dengan laman lainnya.

Google Translate mulai hari ini menambahkan fitur baru, yakni “speech”, dimana kata yang ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris bisa diperdengarkan oleh penggunanya.

Saat ini, ketika kita menulis di Twitter yang lalu kita sebarkan ke status facebook secara otomatis melaui Twitter Facebook app, maka sebuah tautan tidak akan diaktifkan oleh facebook. Facebook hanya akan mengaktifkan sebuah tautan bila melalui fitur “Attach”.

Facebook kini secara otomatis akan menayangkan poto pasangan saat mereka memilih kata bertunangan (engage) di statusnya. Tentu bila poto tersebut disediakan oleh pasangan ini sebelumnya. Ada yang sudah mencoba?

Google has added a new feature to the search engine. It is an auto-completion of search queries. The function is really useful , help you with the spelling and shows what have the other people search for. It could be quite funny , because sometime people search for a incredibly stupid things. I am sharing you a site called – Autocomplete me , it is full of epic phrases from Google auto complete. After seeing some of them I laugh so hard , found myself nearly crying.

Step-1. Go to application site.

Step-2. Enter a site name on the box provided. [1]

Step-3. Enter a site description. (optional)

Step-5. Select whether site can be viewed by everyone or specific persons only.

Step-6. Choose a theme. [2]

Step-7. Type the verification code as shown.

Google Sites, a tool for creating internal websites where your company can collaborate, can now work with the rest of your business software, Google says. The search giant is releasing an application programming interface (API) that lets applications move data in and out of the Sites service.

This follows other announcements by Google to make its applications, such as Gmail, compatible with outside software. In some cases, like the ability to synchronize Google Apps with Microsoft Outlook, the goal is to ease the transition to Google from other products. In others, like the Sites API, the point is to make Google work better with the other tools businesses use. It also means that the data you store in Google Sites isn’t locked-in if you decide to switch to different software.

Here are some ways the company says you could use the API:

• Update Google Sites from third-party applications – e.g. your sales team’s Google Sites pages can update automatically when new leads are added to your customer relationship management system.
• Migrate files and content from workspace applications like Microsoft SharePoint and Lotus Notes to Google Sites.
• Export Google Sites pages, edit them offline, and re-import the updated content.
• Export your sites, including every page revision, for backup.
• Easily monitor changes across your important internal and public sites, all from a single gadget.
• Push new content like changes to employee policies or a new corporate logo to any site on your domain, even sites created by individual employees.

Of course, not every one of Google Apps’s 175 million customers (such as VentureBeat) has the interest or resources to build their own applications using this API. But you might use applications built by other companies, such as LTech’s application for moving data from Microsoft Sharepoint to Google Sites.

At the beginning of my blogging activity, wordpress was actually just give a 50 MB disk space to store all of my files. I was starting to make a post in this blog since almost two years ago, or the exact date is 7 July. It was a very interesting day for me, I was feeling something different in my spirit when I starting blogging compared with when I wasn’t yet. But yeah, like what I told you, to store all of my images, sounds, documents and also video even, wordpress just give me 50 MB space.

It was a little bit make me worry if there’s no enough room to store ‘em. So I decided to host my files at the others places. I looking for some alternative, and finally I choose googlepages which offer me a 100 MB free space for every account. I can make account as many as I want under one google account. So that it make make me create some different account to store some files with different places to use them too.

But since the end of the last month, google announce google page creator [googlepage] user that that service is no longer available for the next time. It will be changed into google site [site.google], user who stored their files on google page asked to backup their files. It was the trouble, I should backup all of them, even at one of my accounts I stored more than 30 files. I’ve tried to backup one which just having a couple files, and it was a little annoying, I should do that one by one each file.

Out of my prediction, I got helps when I use Internet Explorer to make me easier downloading them from some different accounts. And at the first right-click I found an option that looks great, download all using Flash Get. Yeah it rocks, obviously IE was not fully useless.

The next step is modifying all of my post which having images from my google page account. This was more annoying, I should check all of my archive from April 2007 until today. To make it faster, I changed my reading setting into 20 post each page, so that I can see my whole posts in a month using one page, because the most active month is just has 18 post. This feels like restarting blogging  from the first time.

It’s all almost done I guess, just leave my post about Photoshop Time line which can’t show the images because it was stored at another web [webdesign.org], and they prevent this blog for showing ‘em. But it’s OK, I found the replacement images, edit them and editing that post is the thing I just really need to do now. Some others also having the same trouble, but nothing I can do to find images I need. And that post was a useful post ever here.

Mit Google Analytics kann man Besucher von beliebigen Websites und deren Verhalten sehr gut analysieren. Hierfür muss man den von Google Analytics generierten Tracking Code (Java Script) zu jeder Webseite hinzufügen. Es wird empfohlen den Tracking Code in die Fußzeile (Footer) zu kopieren. Man stellt hierfür den Cursor in die Fußzeile, klickt auf  [edit html] und fügt den Tracking Code ein. Achtung: wenn die Fußzeile keine Buchstaben/Wort enthält wird der Tracking Code nicht angenommen!  

Das muss man leider auch bei Google Sites für jede Seite machen. Bei einer integrierten Google Lösung würde man sich da eine einfachere Lösung wünschen.
