На сервисе для быстрого перевода Google Translate представлено несколько интересных нововведений. Во-первых, расширен список поддерживаемых языков – всего сервис теперь работает более чем с 50 языками мира.

Кроме этого, представлен перевод в реальном времени. Чтобы увидеть перевод слова или фразы, не нужно нажимать кнопку Translate и ждать – текст на другом языке отображается сразу же, по ходу того, как пользователь набирает текст.

Другая новая возможность – кнопка Show Romanization, при помощи которой можно получить транскрипцию слова латинскими символами. Эта опция будет полезна при осуществлении перевода на китайский и другие языки, где по написанию слова сложно определить его произношение. Кроме этого, такая опция будет полезна, если на компьютере нет нужной языковой раскладки. Теперь можно набрать транскрипцию слова латинскими символами и конвертировать его в символы нужного языка.

Наконец, еще одна новая возможность Google Translate – озвучивание перевода. Для тех слов, для которых эта возможность доступна, слева отображается специальная иконка, нажав на которую можно услышать, как произносится слово.

Min agent skickar ett mail om auditionen för ett jobb (tv-reklam, katalog, affisch osv) imorgon (jag gick igenom picture selectionen, yeah!) på enbart japanska.

(För att förklara lite kort så kontaktar alltid agenturen en om jobb och om man går vidare i till exempel en picture seletction så är det ibland en audition och då frågade jag min agent var vi skulle göra på denna audition för jobbet, och vem de sökte för detta modelljobb.)

Det går att förstå men vissa saker måste översättas i Google Translate och då blir det så här (svaret på min fråga “vem de är ute efter”):

I don’t know why it gave up on “realised” and “drank” above.

Of course Google Translate isn’t the first computer translation tool on the web and it may not be the best. It has one feature I have not seen before: users can suggest improvements.

It’s doesn’t make the substitution immediately. I guess they have to have a human check the suggested improvement in case a bad person contributes something rude. But the idea is great if they can make it systematic – only native speakers can convey the nuances of the language.

Of course the classic test of machine translation is to see how, for example English to Thai and back to English works. I should try some tests but I don’t imagine they will be excellent. That’s a lot to ask of a computer.

Dopo il solito piccolo ritocco estetico google translate aggiunge delle importanti modifiche.

E’ stata aggiunta la traduzione in tempo reale, cioè mentre scrivete la vostra frase verrà automaticamente tradotta,senza il bisogno di premere “Traduci” .

In oltre per la lingua inglese è possibile ascoltare la pronuncia della frase tradotta.

Uno strumento utilissimo per chi ha bisogno di piccole traduzioni veloci.

In più è possibile tradurre dei testi situati sul nostro computer, google li leggerà e li tradurrà per noi.

Hôm qua, Google đã nâng cấp một số tính năng quan trọng trong dịch vụ Translate của họ. Google Translate đã hỗ trợ đến 51 ngôn ngữ khác nhau mà 98% người dùng Internet đang sử dụng.

Một số cải tiến mới:

O Google revelou nesta terça-feira (17/11) um novo serviço de tradução, com um novo visual e a sensação de tradução em tempo real. Além disso, a ferramenta agora tem a capacidade de traduzir 51 idiomas.

A tradução instantânea é o recurso mais perceptível do novo serviço do tradutor do Google. A tradução é feita enquanto o usuário digita na caixa de textos, sem a necessidade de apertar o botão “traduzir”. O botão, porém, ainda está presente.

Para quem não fala inglês, o novo Google Tradutor introduz um serviço de pronúncia. Caso o usuário traduza de outra língua para o inglês, um ícone aparece ao lado da palavra em inglês e lê em voz alta.

O diretor de produção do Google, Awaneesh Verma, disse em um post no blog oficial da empresa que o Google Tradutor vai trabalhar continuamente na melhoria da precisão do sistema de tradução automática.
