But what most don’t know is that she’s come a long way and has dealt with issues of her own, including abusive relationships and skin disease.

“I’ve always had it, since I was a young girl,” she offers about her struggles with vitiligo. “It’s not as bad as others because everybody has it differently, but I’ve certainly had mine diagnosed. That’s why I tan. People say, ‘You bleach your skin!’ But I tan just so I can have a better tone on my skin, boo!…But when you get diagnosed with a skin disorder, it’s hard. It does weigh on your self-esteem. It really does. But I’m done defending that. I’m not bleaching my skin and if I was bleaching my skin and I felt like saying so, I would, but for the record, I am not.”

There you have it. Tamar is not getting whiter by bleaching.

As far as her past relationships, the singer has come a long way to find the man who loves her for real.

“I haven’t always been vocal about my feelings, especially in a relationship. Now, I make sure that I’m very vocal about my feelings, everybody knows how I feel. Sometimes it’s over the top and most of the time it’s ‘Team Too-Much,’” she laughs, “But I have to do a lot. (I was) a shy person who had self-esteem issues trying to figure it out — now, I’ve gotten over my hangovers. You say, I’m comfortable and confident, it took a long time to get there. Maybe like a year or so before Braxton Family Values, I wasn’t that person. I was faking it til I make it, pretty much. I didn’t feel like I was beautiful. I didn’t feel like I deserved things. I didn’t feel like I could stand in a room and speak or even sing and have people who wanted to listen.” Tamar credits her husband with helping her get over somes of these issues.

Now I remember when Timmy, singer of the famous song “Fuck Compton” was on the news for scamming a bunch of women out of money..well it looks like he is up to his biggest scam yet:

(Southaven, MS) A woman who was swindled by a famous rapper says ‘Tim Dog’ may be up to his biggest scam yet.
The rapper reportedly died in February, but the Mid-South woman he scammed believes the con man may have faked his own death.
Timothy Blair, more commonly known as Tim Dog, owes her money.
When he was reported dead, she says, all the payments stopped.
He got famous in the 90s for his song about Compton, but Tim Dog’s lasting legacy, in Esther Pilgrim’s mind, will be something else, “He really thinks he can outsmart everybody.”
She says the rapper swindled her out $32,000, “A fictitious business deal.”
She’s not the only one who says Tim Dog is a con man.
“Twenty victims have contacted me personally from around the world,” she said.
In 2011, a Mississippi judge ordered Blair to pay her back, “One hundred dollars per month.”
Esther says she received those payments up until she got the phone call that Tim Dog was dead.
In February, media outlets, including Rolling Stone, reported the 46-year-old rapper died from complications of diabetes.
Esther says at first, she believed it like everybody else.
Then she did some digging, “There was nothing of what you would normally find. What city? Who found him? There was nothing with any type of concrete details.”
She even had a friend go down to Atlanta this week, where he allegedly died, to find his death certificate, “They weren’t able to find any record of his death.”
In fact, News Channel 3 used private investigator Andy Wilson who said he couldn’t find a death record for Timothy Blair either.
Esther says Tim Dog owes upwards of $2 million to people around the world and she believes his own death might be just be his biggest con yet, “Oh, I think there is a great chance that he’s alive.”
A private investigator has also confirmed an active address for Blair in Atlanta as of April.
Blair has allegedly been dead since February 14th.

That became even more evident when the group split up and went on to have solo careers.

But now it seems that Kelly has somewhat of a confession to make, and what her fans have been thinking for some time.

The 32-year-old songstress has just released a new track titled Dirty Laundry, where she seemingly admits that she was once jealous of now mother-of-one Beyonce.

One particular lyric in the tune, which also contains very colourful language, appears to demonstrate this. Kelly sings: ‘When my sister was on stage killin’ it like a (expletive)/ I was enraged, feelin’ it like a (expletive)/ Bird in a cage/ You would never know what I was dealin’ with/ Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin’ it/. ‘Bittersweet she was up, I was down/ No lie, I feel good for her but what do I do now? … Post-Survivor, she on fire/ Who wanna hear my (expletive)?’

In the emotional track, Kelly also appears to reveal that she was once in an abusive relationship. ’Meanwhile this n**a putting his hands on me… I swear y’all don’t know the half of this industry,’ she sings. Though she does not identify the man in question, Kelly sings that she went through bouts of depression after being allegedly abused by him.

She also sings that she was angry at both Beyonce and her sister for trying to rush to her aid. ‘Kinda lucky I was in her shadow/ Phone call from my sister, ‘What’s the matter?’ ‘ she sings. She then reveals that she ‘was trapped in his house’ and isolated from the ones that she loved, including Beyonce.

‘Hitting the window like it was me / And still it shattered / He pulled me out and said, ‘Don’t nobody love you but me / Not your mama / Not your daddy / and especially not Bey,’ she sings.

Kelly’s new song is raw and pulls heavily at the heartstrings and the chorus illustrates that she has been long longing to ‘air her dirty laundry’.

‘Let’s do this Dirty Laundry, this Dirty Laundry/ This Dirty Laundry, this Dirty Laundry,’ she sings in the chorus.

‘When you are soaked in tears for years it never airs out/ When you make pain look this good it never wears out.’

I did it again.

I haven’t written since April…and as you may have noticed, it’s mid-May. In my defense, I’ve done a LOT of talking about writing and THINKING about writing…just not a whole lot of actual fingers-to-keyboard writing.

Obviously, I’ve been pretty wrapped up in wedding planning, wedding binder organizing, answering my mother’s questions about what brand of pots & pans I want (the self-cleaning kind, if they exist, in case you’re looking for my registry) staying on top of celebrity news, fending off inspirational emails from chipper coworkers, and trying to find something to wear. This might not seem like a lot of work to you, but trust me, it leaves almost no time for blogging. By the time I read every article about Kate Middleton’s baby being DEFINITELY A BOY or DEFINITELY A GIRL,
and look at every picture of Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy “style,” and sigh about Jennifer Aniston being so very happy or unhappy depending on who’s writing the article, I have almost nothing left in me to keep you posted on the daily goings on in my life.

So I’m just going to catch you up, and then we can resume the normal hilarity next time I write (which hopefully will be in 2013).

We found a wedding venue! We are so completely in love with it (read: I am so completely in love with it, and Keenan is so completely in love with the idea that I won’t take him to see any more venues). It is FAAAAAABULOUS and it does relieve a lot of stress to actually have that done. Confession: I was NOT enjoying wedding planning as much as people say they do. I think people who say wedding planning is nothing but fun are the same people who say tattoos or giving birth or wearing heels all day don’t hurt. They’re LIARS. Looking for a venue is exhausting and stressful and NOT fun. But as far as I can tell, all the other stuff actually is quite an enjoyable experience. I don’t know, I haven’t really started it yet.

My favorite thing (and only thing) I’ve done so far was the application to get married in the church. You have to sign the paperwork, and then the groom has to sign it too. I found that so hilarious – it’s exactly like a facebook relationship request. It’s basically saying, “OK lady, so I know YOU want to get married, but did you tell him about this yet? We don’t want any surprises.”
Luckily for me, Keenan doesn’t read things before he signs them so he has officially agreed to marry me in writing (haha, just kidding, he totally read it and totally wants to marry me, even though he reads this blog – I KNOW.)

Other than that, the other big news is that as of May 13 I am 7 MONTHS SHOP-FREE. I think I’ve officially entered the maintainence phase of recovery where I’ve established all my skills to prevent shopping and now I just stick with what works. Namely, averting my eyes away from the clothing section of Target, avoiding the mall entirely, not opening emails from stores that want to give me discounts, ripping up Banana Republic coupons that come in the mail, crying myself to sleep. Haha, just kidding about that last one. Kind of.

People have asked me if I’m allowed to buy my wedding dress and it’s funny because I’m getting married in August 2014 and October aka my one-year no shopping anniversary is exactly 10 months before the wedding. All the wedding timelines I’ve downloaded say to get your dress around the 10 month mark before the wedding. So ironically enough, it seems like the first thing I’ll buy myself to wear in an ENTIRE YEAR is my wedding dress.

Doesn’t it seem like I orchestrated that perfectly? If this was a novel, rather than my life, critics would say “Contrived and predictable,” because seriously – how did that happen?

The members of hit rap group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are feeling some type of way about the amount if respect hip-hop pays their mentor Eazy-E. Bone Thugs believe the fact Eazy E died of AIDS has something to do with the lack of props hip-hop gives Eazy-E.

Bizzy Bone told TMZ, “Some people seem like they are afraid to commemorate him due to how he died. But Bone never once has — nor will stop — commemorating him.”

Many remember Eazy-E as the founding member of pioneering rap crew N.W.A. and fathering seven children with six different women. Eazy discovered Bone Thugs in 1995. the group also believes hip-hop is still in place where it subscribes to AIDS being a “gay disease” and Eazy-E unfairly gets that label despite contracting it through unprotected heterosexual intercourse. Krayzie Bone thinks hip-hop believes dying of AIDS is an inferior death than getting shot like Big and Pac. “They died being known as gangsta heroes. Eazy died from a disease … so many look at that differently,” he commented.

In effort to honor Eazy-E’s memory and contribution to our culture, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will perform “Foe Tha Love of $,” which features a verse from Eazy-E, during the Rock the Bells Tour. Eazy-E will appear on stage as a hologram through the September and October run of the tour.

Layzie Bone added, “The success Eazy left to the rap game is enormous and can’t be topped by anyone. We are going to make sure we have the stage full of Eazy love.”
