The standard routes to obtain a Green Card are through family or employment. However, there are numerous special categories of jobs and family, as well as special circumstances, which allow individuals to obtain a Green Card even though they may not qualify under traditional routes.

If you are making a general inquiry as to whether you qualify for a Green Card, it seems reasonable to first determine whether you qualify under the main routes of Green Card application.
