“Doo the right thing!” is an educational, entertaining, 30-minute video production showcasing the revitalization of the City of Ventura’s Mutt-Mitt dog dispensing station sponsorship program (providing free pet “pick up” bags to residents and visitors in order to clean up their pet’s waste). The special also delves into how “not picking up after one’s pet” can have disasterous results for our watershed and public health! The project was shot entirely on location in the City of Ventura, California.

“DOO THE RIGHT THING!” Debuted on September 15, 2010 on public access CAPS-TV, Channel 15. CLICK THIS LINK for the Schedule: http://www.capstv.org/schedules.htm

Students Sing And Dance For Clean Water

See the students from the Ventura Unified School District’s Blanche Reynolds Elementary School Choir (conducted by Heidi House) and the 3rd and 4th grade classes for Terri Hoosen, Jessica Murphy and Ashley Johnson/Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education (click here for Charter’s version, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPQ36AemUH8&feature=channel_video_title) SING “Doo the right thing!” Dancing is performed by members of the Ventura High School Dance Team, coached and managed by Julie Ramirez. Great job!

HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL!
Ventura’s Mutt Mitt Program helps to keep our beautiful parks, beaches, public areas and ocean clean by providing degradable pet waste pick-up bags at dispensing stations throughout the City. With over 10,000 licensed dogs in the City of Ventura, and one million people visiting our popular parks annually, there’s definitely a need to encourage everyone to “Doo the Right Thing!” Cleaning up pet waste and disposing of it properly in the trash is important to our community’s health and quality of life.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE: BECOME A SPONSOR!
For past 10 years, Ventura’s Mutt Mitt program has grown to 80 Mutt Mitt stations. However, due to budget cuts in November 2009, this popular program was discontinued. Through the efforts of concerned community members and the Ventura Commerce and Education Foundation, the program has been revitalized through Station sponsorship opportunities. Make a difference and become a SPONSOR today!

One of the scrolls turns out to be a treasure map. The “buried” treasure prompts a fortune hunting adventure in the hills of Ventura.

The treasure turns out to be as enigmatic as the scrolls and creates further dissension amongst the town’s residents. The dissention growns into an all-out struggle bteween the good and the greedy.

People from another world arrive just in time to prevent a war between the splintered factions. These visitors use their powers to restore peace and enlighten the town’s people as to the true meaning and significance of the mysterious scrolls and treasure.

Through this experience, the people of this old west town learn why it is so important to help nuture the Earth by recycling, composting, conserving water and preventing stormwater pollution.

Fact: Ultra Tiny Homes is not a new trend but it is growing like wildfire in America, Japan, and Europe.

Fact: According to the economists from NAHB, in 2006 the average size of a home was 2,268 square feet since then the median size has dropped to an even 2,100

Trend: It looks like smaller abodes will continue to increase in the future.

While I like to research and read a lot of articles about “green” topics, sometimes I just want to kick back and watch a good “green” video now and then. I don’t mind if I’m entertained while I’m learning some new stuff either. So, Verda Vivo Videos is born. They are posted in the sidebar of my blog or you click on Verda Vivo Videos to view them. I search the internet for educational videos that, in my opinion, are educational, interesting, funny or just plain cool. Of course they’re about my favorite topics: green living, water quality, recycling, global warming, the environment, plastic bags and bottles and so on. As of today there are 25 videos for your viewing pleasure. My latest favorite is “Recyle or Die”.
