<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Passend zu der Vorstellung von Intels Lynnfield-Plattform haben alle Speicherhersteller zahlreiche neue DDR3-Dual-Channel-Kits auf den Markt gebracht, die zugleich schneller und sparsamer als die bisherigen Pärchen sein sollen. Zu verdanken ist letzteres dabei vor allem Intel Spezifikationen für den Speichercontroller der Lynnfield-Prozessoren. Dieser ist wie jener der Bloomfield-Modelle nämlich nur bis zu einer Speicherspannung von 1,65 Volt freigegeben.</p>
<p>Eine der neuen Speicherserien bildet die &#8220;Ripjaws&#8221;-Familie des Herstellers G.Skill. Den Namen verdanken die Speichermodule dabei ihrem Aussehen, denn die gezackte Rippen auf der oberen Kante der Heatspreader sollen an die Zähne eines Hais erinnern. Doch auch ihre inneren Werte kann man als &#8220;scharf&#8221; bezeichnen, immerhin treten sie mit Taktraten bis zu DDR3-2200 und dabei noch recht scharfen Latenzen von CL 8 bis CL 9 an.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>I bought and built a new computer two weeks ago with the help of newegg.com.  Let me tell you, if you need a new computer and want a ton of power on a budget, now is the time to buy!  Comparing what I was able to purchase for $800, I would have had to spend at least twice as much to have one of the big boys assemble a system for me that was even close to as capable of a machine as I have created.  Prices have dropped substantially for PC components.  I built a computer with close to top of the line parts for around $800.  Lets get to the specs then I will tell you more details about it.</p>
<p>CPU:</p>

<p>So, the part that is probably the least impressive is the hard drive, it is the green model so it is a little handicapped due to being &#8220;energy efficient&#8221; @ a slower RPM.  Let me tell you, it really isn&#8217;t a big deal though, that is not a noticeable issue.  I might order a solid state Flash based drive to install the OS and programs on it but for now I am using just the green drive.</p>
<p>Since this is my first new build in 4 years, I sort of went crazy!  I went big on the video car and the CPU, I dropped 8Gb in the machine and went for the whole 1Tb drive.  I also learned from the last build that one major requirement for any build is a brand name motherboard.  My last build had a Soyo board (I don&#8217;t like tiger direct, newegg is by far the best, the basically stopped making mobo&#8217;s after I ordered that piece of just and for the past four years I have struggled to keep that thing running).  This time I went with Foxconn based on it being brand name, in the $100 price range (I didn&#8217;t want to buy an over priced board)  and having a ton of great reviews!  I sort of lucked up on the CPU, I was going to do the build in late December before the Phenom II&#8217;s came out but waited because my old computer was working again.  Between Layoff fears <em><strong>(tomorrows topic) </strong></em>and the economy taking a dump (related topics of course) I was hesitant to spend the money on a new build.  I survived the second round of layoffs at Cessna so I just gave up on waiting (knowing another round of layoffs was coming&#8230; tomorrow) and decided the new computer could assist me in doing other work for my dad&#8217;s company or possible side projects such as the R/C tank I am designing (future topic).  As it turned out, the waiting helped me out a bunch!!  not only did AMD launch the Phenom II&#8217;s and reviews pop up all over but the price dropped a ton on them as well!  A processor that launched in the mid to high $200&#8217;s now cost below $200!!!  By waiting a month and a half, I was able to get a much better processor with good overclocking ability for the same price as the Phenom 9850 BE I was eyeing before.  I had been watching the Sapphire 4870 1Gb since I first decided it was time to build a computer so I was happy to finally get it so I could find out if I was right to select it.  On top of all of this, Newegg had some killer discounts and bundles!!</p>
<p>I installed Windows 7 beta 64bit on this one.  For games I have Supreme Commander and Counter Strike Source installed.  I intend to install SolidWorks 09 on it if/when I get a VPN set up so I can use a license from my Dad&#8217;s company.  Let me tell you I haven&#8217;t been able to find the limits of this machine!!!  I am hoping I can install solidworks soon so I can at least attempt to bring this machine to its knees.  I ran SupCom on Max settings on a dual monitor set up and this machine didn&#8217;t even flinch.  I doubt it even sped the CPU up past idle&#8230;  I guess I just need to find more intensive games&#8230;  Maybe I will install X-Plane 8 or 9&#8230;  I think that would have some affect but I am not sure how much.</p>
<p>I guess I should focus on Windows 7 for a bit.  Let me tell you, I never really played with Vista, I know it is a good OS (now&#8230;) but I haven&#8217;t really had a need to use it and I never had a computer that had Vista on it.  I was intending to buy a copy of Vista Ultimate 64bit with the new computer but decided to hold off.  So when Windows 7 Beta came out and the reviews were saying how good it is, I thought I would take a look.  With the new build having 8Gb I needed an OS that would support all of it.  I can tell you right now that I am extremely impressed with Window 7.  I have experienced a few issues with it (namely that I couldn&#8217;t get the WatchGuard VPN client to install which could be hardware related too..) but on the whole, I like it.  I am probably going to buy it when it comes out.  Yep, thats right, you read it, I am planning on buying Windows 7.  I do think their multiple versions scheme is a little stupid but whatever, they are the big boys, I am going to assume they know how to extort the most money out of the consumers&#8230;</p>
<p>So yeah, in conclusion, NewEgg.com is AWESOME!  My new computer is the Bomb!  And Computer components are to cheap to not consider building your own.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>I just got a pair of TCCD-based G.Skill 4400LE sticks. The set contains two 512 MB sticks built upon 437 TCCD chips on Brainpower PCB. The purpose was simple &#8211; get another 1 GB of RAM, and have total of 2 gigs running in my rig.</p>
<p>Didn&#8217;t have time to test it thoroughly yet. Right now they&#8217;re running @255 6-3-3-2,5 with command rate of 2T, together with <a href="http://anotherblog.phobos.info.pl/?p=20">mentioned earlier 4800LA&#8217;s</a>. I may find some time the other day to see what maximum they can reach.</p>
<p>I almost forgot &#8211; they were dirt-cheap, paid 98 PLN (just over 20 euros) for it. Quality memory for a superb price.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>My overclocking nightmare is just gone away. The set of memories, that I bought some time ago &#8211; G.Skill 4800LA, which I presumed to be failing, is installed and working.</p>
<p>My DFI NF4 for about half a year was unwilling to cooperate with those mems, which was driving me somewhat crazy &#8211; the sticks were bought from the second hand, the previous owner assured me about theit correct operation. Still I was not able to stabilize them.</p>
<p>Then I got a diabolous idea &#8211; mix them with 2&#215;256 regular Twinmos sticks (I think they have Powerchips onboard). Mixing G.Skills with Patriot LLK kit was unlucky, so I thought &#8220;what the heck&#8221;. Imagine the smile on my face&#8230; <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>So now I have 1,5 GB of RAM, probably even a bit faster than Patriots before (233 6-3-3-2,5 2T as opposed to 215 6-3-3-2,5 1T) and it made me think &#8211; maybe 2 gigs are possible. I have even spotted a 512 A-Data TCCD stick which will make a pair with mine, so it&#8217;s now only waiting for payday <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>I will post some screens later, maybe some benches as well.</p>

<p>voila un tuto destiné a tout ceux qui ont peur de demonter leur notebook medion akoya E1210  <strong><em>A SAVOIR QUE LE <span style="color:#ff0000;">MSI WIND A LA MEME COQUE QUE LE MEDION AKOYA</span></em></strong></p>
<p>après l&#8217;achat d&#8217;un notebook (important pour les deplacements fréquent, et pour les étudiants geeks comme moi)</p>
<p>j&#8217;ai trouvé utile de remplacer son disque dur mecanique tournant a 4200trs/min</p>
<p>par un disque dur flash dit SSD &#8220;Solid State Drive&#8221;</p>
<p>j&#8217;ai choisi un SSD GSKILL 128 GO</p>
<p>le constructeur GSKILL annonce des performances tels que lon se demande ou est l&#8217;arnaque</p>
<p>vitesse</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">158mo/s en lecture</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">98mo/s en écriture</span></p>
<p>depourvue de tout système mécanique la SSD est prevue pour etre 40% plus econome que son prédécesseur HDD mecanique.</p>
<p>PASSON AU DEMONTAGE</p>
<p>voila le cobaye,( MEDION AKOYA E1210 avec un disuqe dur de 160 GO 4200tr/min</p>

<p>DEBRANCHER TOUT  deconnecté tout du medion  (pensez a ne pas laisser de carte flash SD dans le port SD MMC DSHC)</p>
<p>DEBRANCHER LA BATTERIE</p>
<p>REPERER LES 9VIS (comme sur l&#8217;image ci-dessou)</p>
<p>DEVISER</p>

<p>une fois demonté vous pouvez reperer les composants comme l&#8217;indique l&#8217;image suivante</p>

<p>pour extraire le disque dur vous devez</p>
<p>-debrancher les connections de la carte wifi puis la deviser</p>
<p>-vous aurez une fois la carte wifi retiré ,acces a la vis du socle du disque dur</p>
<p>DEVISER LE PUIS DEBRANCHER LE DISQUE DUR</p>

<p>PRENEZ LA SSD ET REMONTER LE TOUT DANS LE SENS CONTRAIRE DU DEMONTAGE</p>

<p>remonter tout et rebrancher tout ,et activer le AHCI dans le bios</p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="color:#000080;">maintenant pour installer le systeme d&#8217;exploitation d&#8217;origine du medion (((windows XP)))</span></span></p>
<p>soit:</p>
<p>-<span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>installer par lecteur CD usb</strong></span></p>
<p>-<span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>cloner la partition recover du HDD d&#8217;origine sur le SSD </strong></span>(avant l&#8217;installation du SSD dans le medion),installer le SSD dans le medion ,et demarrer en appuyant sur f3 pour lancer la recuperation qui en fait dans votre cas sera (l&#8217;installation)</p>
<p><em><span style="color:#ff0000;">pour ceux qui veulent installer un autre windows XP</span> </em>verifié bien <span style="color:#000080;">d&#8217;avoir les pilotes AHCI dans votre version d&#8217;installation </span>(sinon l&#8217;installation échoura avec le message d&#8217;erreur &#8220;<span style="color:#000080;">l&#8217;installation ne peut détecter de disque dur</span>&#8230;&#8221;.</p>
<p><span style="color:#ff0000;">pour contouner ce probleme</span> il faut implémenter a votre cd d&#8217;XP les pilotes <span style="color:#000000;">AHCI a l&#8217;aide d&#8217;une disquette contenant les pilotes appropriés ou en faisant appel au slipstreaming . Cette intégration peut se faire très facilement grâce au freeware NLite</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#000000;"><em><span style="color:#ff0000;">dans tout les cas de figure ou vous remplacé le XP livré avec e medion</span> </em></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#000000;">renseigné vous bien sur le pilote AHCI sans quoi vous aurez une erreur au niveau de <span style="color:#ff0000;">l&#8217;EPHD</span> et <span style="color:#000080;">l&#8217;ecran bleu de la morttttttt </span>STOP 0&#215;7B</span></p>
<p><span style="color:#000000;">L&#8217;AHCI est supporté nativement par <span style="color:#ff0000;">Windows Vista</span> et par <span style="color:#ff0000;">Linux</span> à partir du <span style="color:#ff0000;">noyau 2.6.19</span></span></p>
