Yet Another Golden State Warriors Rant

Another Warriors post, this time a joint post between Sherdizzle and AzNHeartThrob. Should be interesting, cause the Dubs are the only thing Sher and AzN agree on….

As I sit listing the order of preference of which home games I plan to pick in my shared season ticket lottery drawing this weekend, I see this and this and this and this.

And yet, I keep listing my games away, eager to be there opening night against Yao.

Now there isn’t one single player on this upcoming season’s roster that I’d wholeheartedly cheer for during intros let alone spend 50 bucks on a youth size jersey for. We’ve got a bunch of d-listed wannabe superstars who think that because they had one fluke season of ESPN highlight reels, during a very short-lived post season, they all of a sudden can command enough star power to demand that the franchise cater to them. Hey, Monta – F you! For someone who spent most of last season sitting on his ass and shopping at Union City Target, you’ve got some nerve complaining about who you can and can’t play with in the back court.

How about you take your ass back to Mississippi and play with that moped that sidelined you last season? And while you’re at it, take Stephen Jackson with you too. Before you became a W Jacko, you were a reject, a trouble maker, who was best known for picking fights at Auburn Hills and carrying guns into night clubs. The GSW’s gave you a second chance at redeeming your reputation and your career. How do you repay them back? By demanding a trade?

It’s like the W’s are cursed. It’s got to be the Webber/Sprewell/Nelson debacle of 1995. Ever since those three collided and abandoned ship, we’ve been in a downward spiral. We get players who wine and dine us, then up and leave once a prettier younger mate comes along *ahem* boomdizzle. We cling to players who have zero talent and no chance of ever leading us to the playoffs let alone to a championship *ahem* Dunleavy, Murphy, Jamison (F you Jamison and your subsequent 6^th man of the yr award and two all star appearance after leaving the W’s). And we spend big bucks on guys who, in all likelihood, if they were on any other team, would only come off the bench in the fourth quarter when their team is already up by 40 points. *ahem* Dampier, Foyle. And lets not even talk about draft picks, because I’m sure AzN can set off a rampage post about all the superstars that we managed to let slip…*ahem* Kobe. And somehow, we always manage to always let go of the ones with potential and heart (Gilbert, Jrich). *sigh*

So while Jackson and Ellis cry about how deserving they are to play on a championship team because of that ONE season once upon a time that they helped get the W’s into the playoffs, I’ll think about the days that made me become a W fan to begin with in order to get me through these dark days. (And to those bandwagon fans who just hopped on board in 06, I’m talking about the Run TMC days, I’m talking about the pre Chris “I’m a douchey idiot” Cohan days.)

I’ll stick to wear my #1 TRAN jersey ‘cuz I know that’s one playaplaya that will never leave…

What is it about the Golden State Warriors that make us actually LOVE them. Its not the name. The Warriors name is mostly associated with Wilt Chamberlain and his 100 point game when the team was in Philly. Its not the city, cause the name of the team isn’t even a city. Its not the colors, those keep changing different tones of blue and gold. Its not the mascot, Thunder, who everyone loathed and thankfully got shown the door when the OK Thunder came into the world. Its not the uniforms, which we all seem to hate until they get changed and “thrown back”. Its not the God forsaken Oracle Arena or the area its located in (tailgate? in a parking lot looking over a freeway next to a BART station?). Its not management (poor, poor Mullin). Its not ownership (I LOATHE NO OTHER MAN MORE IN SPORTS THAN COHAN). And its not the experience of going to the game ($9 beers in Oakland?). And as my colleague Sherdizz explained, its definitely not the players. So why do we love the Warriors? Is it because its the only (basketball) game in town? I don’t think THAT’S true, I don’t see myself rooting for the San Jose Supersonics anytime soon… I’m starting to think its because of the fans. Fans that have sipped the Kool-Aid since Sarunas Marciulionis was running the ball down court and Chris Gatling was rebounding with his absurdly long hands. We have cheered for this team for so long with the such ridiculously low expectations, that no matter WHAT they accomplish (4th in the Pacific! YEA!), we cheer them on like we just got 3 back-to-back titles. In the same way a physically abused child adores his father when he brings home a happy meal for dinner (Yea, I got a toy Transformer!), we mindlessly cheer on a worthless team that makes more money when it spends less money on talent cause folks from Novato to Gilroy love basketball, and never hitched on to the Kings bandwagon. So now that I concede that this is an addiction, I’m past the denial stage. Someday, years from now, I might move into acceptance, but until that day, I’m busy picking out which game I’m going to buy seats to (PORTLAND!) and which Warrior will be here long enough for me to buy a jersey (maybe I’ll just be safe and buy a throwback Mitch Richmond jersey).

ILLUMINATI & EXTRATERRESTRES: LA CONEXIÓN ROCKEFELLER

Era finales de 1995 cuando una noticia más circuló entre las agencias periodísticas: el “filántropo” Laurance Rockefeller, multimillonario de 85 años de edad a la sazón, estaba financiando un informe especial sobre OVNIs con destino final la Casa Blanca, así como para otros líderes del mundo. Michael Luckman, Director del CUFOS Nueva York, anticipó que ese informe “dispondría de la mejor evidencia posible en los testimonios de funcionarios, astronautas, militares, todo lo cual contradice las negativas históricas de la Fuerza Aérea sobre aterrizajes extraterrestres”. Amigo de Clinton y financista de su proyecto político, eso no obstó (o, quizás, le sirvió) para presionar a Clinton con la mira en una apertura de archivos secretos del gobierno estadounidense. Según ha admitido, incluso él, Laurance, era un ferviente convencido de un “ovnicrash” en Roswell. Pero la pregunta que debemos hacernos es: sabiendo la participación de la dinastía Rockefeller en el concierto Illuminati histórico, ¿era este apenas un adinerado “buscador de la verdad” o hubo motivaciones más siniestras detrás de su interés?.

Estamos hablando de una de las familias más ricas e influyentes del mundo. Su hermano, David, es el presidente histórico del Citibank (estructura financiera responsable de los mayores lavados de dinero del siglo XX y de vehiculizar la debacle económica de países como Argentina), de Citigroup, decano de la bolsa en Manhattan. Ha sido política de la familia insertarse en instituciones supranacionales como la Comisión Trilateral, el CFR y el club Bilderberg. Si se duda del impacto de los Rockefeller en los asuntos internacionales, recordemos lo escrito por el investigador Martín Malachi: “David Rockefeller es hoy el representante más visible de esa clase predominante, esa fraternidad multinacional de quienes forman la economía global y manejan los flujos de capitales”.

Una rápida revisión de la Historia nos enseña que la familia Rockefeller tiene un largo y un poco infame expediente en sus implicaciones con causas sociales. Treinta años atrás, en tiempos de los radicales movimientos estudiantiles, esta dinastía era asombrosamente rápida a la hora de ofrecer fondos. Pero con condiciones. El ex líder estudiantil de los ’60 James Simon Kunen relata en su autobiografía cómo los Rockefeller ofrecían recursos económicos, ponían abogados para defender a los más radicalizados siempre que en el “paquete” se incluyera su propia agenda. Financiaban las demostraciones masivas en Chicago y fue en esa época cuando el entonces líder de las Panteras Negras, Eldridge, escribió que ya Laurance estaba detrás de ello. “Esta gente —por los Rockefeller— son un peligro para la revolución americana. Tratan de incidir en nosotros, no para que morigeremos su potencial peligro corporativo, sino para aparecer como un peligro más grande de lo que realmente son”. ¿Por qué querría un grupo de industriales y banqueros todopoderosos aparecer más como “malos” en lugar de mejorar su imagen popular? El periodista Frank Capell escribió: “los radicalizados no asumirán jamás el control de este gobierno, pero si aparecen como fanatizados en contra de un grupo específico de personas, les darán a éstos, como necesaria contrapartida, la excusa para victimizarse y justificar la inversión de medios para el control mental de la gente”. Siempre se solidariza uno con las víctimas. El dinero de los Rockefeller compró la revolución de los ’60 y la dirigió hacia donde al establishment estadounidense le convenía. Por eso hoy no queda nada de esa revolución.

Pero el problema es que las operaciones turbias de los Rockefeller, sus manejos financieros multimillonarios, su peso en la política internacional, haría que tarde o temprano la opinión pública los percibiera como lo que son: parte del Poder en las Sombras. Parte de los Illuminati. Era imperativo comenzar una megaoperación “filantrópica”. No sólo en barriadas pobres, campañas de apoyo a víctimas de desastres naturales, dinero todo que en cualquier caso siempre es deducible de impuestos y sirve publicitariamente. Había que inficionar lo que verdaderamente era revolucionario. Lo que cambiaría a la gente desde dentro de sí misma. Lo alternativo. Lo espiritual. La Era de Acuario era la más peligrosa enemiga.

Fue en esos días de los ’70 en que Laurance (que falleciera el 12 de julio de 2004) escribía: “Nuestros sueños son tan ilimitados como nuestros recursos. La gente se rinde con docilidad y nos permite moldearlas cuando, por ejemplo, hacemos campañas de protección veterinaria de los animales domésticos. Las actuales convenciones educativas son tan difusas y permeables que nos resulta sencillo trabajar la voluntad de gente que es básicamente rural, agradecida, y pasiva (…). La tarea que nos hemos propuesto es darle a esta gente una vida perfectamente ideal y justa, que es precisamente la que tienen. Y aún más, trabajaremos sobre los niños para que lleguen a hacer de manera perfecta aquello que sus padres ya están haciendo, aunque imperfectamente, en el hogar, el comercio, el campo”.

Rockefeller, el vil ladrón se transformó así en Rockefeller, civilizador y humanitario. Un padre protector de niños que les enseña el camino correcto. Cuando en los años 20 John D. Rockefeller, fundador de la dinastía, abogaba por la “higiene racial”, una forma de hacer “humanismo” era, entonces, discutir la eugenesia, la esterilización total de las razas “genéticamente inferiores”. ¿Les suena a Alemania en los ’30?. Pues era EE.UU. en los ’20. De hecho, don Adolfo decía estar directamente influenciado por las “investigaciones científicas” de los Rockefeller, ya que a través de ellos había obtenido “legitimidad científica” para las leyes raciales nazis. Esto no obstaba para que de todas formas los Rockefeller buscaran “apoyar financieramente” a movimientos negros, como ya en fecha tan temprana como 1941 se buscaba hacer con el reverendo Divines y su “Misión de la Paz” (que entonces contaba con más de un millón de miembros y ganaba rápidamente la atención pública). La viuda del reverendo ha escrito que su esposo pudo mantener libertad de pensamiento y de acción rechazando el “apoyo” Rockefeller, pero otros no fueron tan afortunados. El método era sencillo: o se aceptaba la ayuda —con su “agenda”— o se destinaba una suma menor (pero más efectivamente) de esos fondos al ataque y vapuleado de aquello que quizás semanas antes se trataba de apoyar. El caso emblemático es el de Wilhelm Reich quien, según los dichos de los psicólogos forenses de la prisión donde murió misteriosamente en 1957, se quejaba permanentemente de no haber aceptado “ser una herramienta de los Rockefeller”. La Asociación Médica Americana (que de hecho estuvo enfrentada a Reich por décadas) comenzó a recibir en ese momento —cuando Reich fue encarcelado para morir— subvenciones sustanciosas. El gestor de los primeros contactos con Wilhelm Reich y luego con la Asociación Médica Americana había sido Laurance Rockefeller.

A partir de los ’60, Laurance decidió “apadrinar” investigadores de OVNIs y extraterrestres. Tal vez el más conocido “ahijado financiero” fue el doctor John Mack, psiquiatra de Harvard famoso por sus estudios sobre abducciones. Mack sostenía la teoría de que el abducido se encontraba en una situación comparable a la de un animal que es hostigado y debilitado para ser oportunamente trasladado a una reserva, sometido a intervenciones veterinarias, etc. El animal se siente acosado, perseguido, pero ignora que es por su “bien”. De allí se deduce una obviedad: para Mack, las intervenciones de alienígenas en sus procesos invasivos y traumáticos durante las abducciones “son para nuestro bien” y deben ser toleradas y aceptadas. Si nuestra especie está en peligro —esto sostenía Mack— los extraterrestres intervienen para salvarnos “a la fuerza”. Así lo expuso ante la MUFON entre otros ámbitos, siempre con el apoyo financiero —primeras ediciones de sus trabajos, viáticos de investigación, subsidio para gastos particulares— de Rockefeller. Uno más uno, igual a dos: ¿le interesa a Laurance Rockefeller que las abducciones sean “socialmente aceptadas”? Y si es así, ¿por qué?. Lo primero que se nos ocurre es que este giro de tuerca a las intervenciones y abducciones vuelve a posicionar a los extraterrestres —ahora, “grises”— en el papel de “hermanos cósmicos” tan grato al oído de la corriente New Age… y tan paralizante en términos de reacción psicológica.

Es interesante recordar que Mack bregó por establecer vínculos entre extraterrestres y ecología en muchos de sus escritos, siendo estas reflexiones —más que investigaciones— en particular apoyadas por los Rockefeller. Aquí recordemos que otro Rockefeller, Nelson, es quien más ha bregado para la “internacionalización” del Amazonas, argumento seudo jurídico que con la excusa de poner bajo la égida mundial la “protección y salvaguarda” del Amazonas como pulmón de la Humanidad (porque, ya se sabe, los brasileños son sudacas y seguramente solitos no se bastan) en realidad termina entregando el Amazonas (y todas sus riquezas, y todos sus secretos) a quienes verdaderamente manejan el mundo… ya saben quiénes.

Puede argüirse que las reacciones “liberales” de Laurance son una expresión de rebeldía ante los atropellos casi cósmicos e históricos de la familia. Es una explicación más psicologista que fundamentada y como tal, simplista. El libro “Ecopsicología” de Mack, editado por el Sierra Club y auspiciado por los Rockefeller, donde Mack plantea “cómo crear una nueva psicología para reinventar nuestra relación con la Tierra” es funcional al “pensamiento verde” de las masas. Que es sano, que es válido, pero que precisamente por eso es inficionado por los grupos de poder con fines ni buenos ni sanos. ¿Ustedes creen la honestidad de Tompkins empeñado en comprar más y más hectáreas de Argentina y Chile para “preservar la naturaleza” a la par de expulsar a los habitantes autóctonos de las tierras adquiridas? La gente común es ingenua, nosotros no podemos darnos ese lujo.

En el frente ecologista, Laurance Rockefeller financia también la “Fundación Verde” dirigida por Terence McKenna. Éste viaja de exploración en exploración investigando plantas psicoactivas y estableciendo cultivos masivos en Hawai. Una de las teorías de McKenna es que las sustancias psicoactivas botánicas usadas en las ceremonias indígenas primitivas permiten establecer contactos telepáticos con culturas alienígenas. Pero, sostiene McKenna, las culturas primitivas “han fallado en su misión” y él —el “patriarca”— debe liderar un retorno a un estado de aceptación mágica como primó en la Tierra 15.000 años atrás para recuperar esos contactos, desde una “perspectiva más sofisticada”.

Otras actividades interesantes de analizar de Laurance Rockefeller tienen que ver con su vinculación estrecha con el grupo de investigación GSW, dirigido actualmente por los ascendientes hombres de negocios neoyorquinos Sandra Wright Houghton y Bootsy Galbraith y la “Fundación Potencial Humano” (HPF) fundada por el senador Claiborne Pell sobre Iglesias evangélicas en dispersión reunificadas bajo su directiva… y U$S 700.000 donados directamente por L. R. Según Dick Farley, que trabajó durante tres años para la organización, el interés de Rockefeller parecía ser integrar en un solo pensamiento paradigmas religiosos y el interés por los OVNIs evaluando el discurso más afín con las creencias populares. Un dato: El presidente durante 1991 a 1994 de HPF fue el ex oficial de inteligencia y Coronel (retirado) Scott Jones, quien completó un doctorado en Física y también supo ser consultor contratado de la Agencia de Defensa Nuclear (1981-1985) antes de ser “asesor” del senador Pell (1985-1991) aparentemente ocupándose de los “intereses paranormales” de Pell.

Fue en esos tiempos cuando se convocó una “Reunión Cósmica de las Culturas”, un evento privado al cual asistieron además de Rockefeller, Mack, Jones y Pell, la reportera e investigadora Ruth Montgomery, el psicólogo y autor de libros sobre ovni Leo Asperjan, el psicólogo transpersonal Charles Agrio, la historiadora nativista Paula Underwood, el activista ambiental John Petersen, el autor Zecharía Sitchin, el psicólogo clínico Richard Boylan, el redactor especial de la revista “Omni”, Keith Ferrell y el director de la Universidad Jerome Glenn James Funaro. El mismo esotérico nombre de la reunión, por informal que fuese, presuponía dos cosas: (a) subordinar las discusiones al ámbito del contacto con civilizaciones no humanas, y (b) dar por sentado lo pacífico de ese contacto.

Es necesario aquí hacer una salvedad, porque nunca falta algún lector superficial: no es que no aceptemos la eventual benevolencia de nuestros visitantes extraterrestres. Lo que decimos es que, por un lado, muchos calificados investigadores llaman la atención, si no sobre actitudes hostiles, cuando menos hacia procederes que resultan indiferentes a la seguridad humana y de donde en ocasiones testigos presenciales de estos encuentros resultaron lesionados y hasta muertos. Y en segundo lugar, es sugestiva la insistencia de Rockefeller en realizar una verdadera campaña de relaciones públicas a favor de su hipotética bondad, casi, casi, como el relacionista público de una planta nuclear en construcción empecinado a pura sonrisa y algunos regalos dadivosos en convencer a los rudos habitantes de un poblado cercano de los muchos beneficios y ninguna dificultad de ser vecinos de una masa apreciable de plutonio moderadamente enfriado.

Joan d’Arc, seudónimo de una periodista del semanario “Newspeak” que asistió como oyente, señala que durante la conferencia se distribuía a los asistentes un cuestionario en el que, entre otras cuestiones, se preguntaba a los asistentes a qué organismo gubernamental o militar creían ellos que debía darse la tarea de administrar el primer contacto masivo.

No hacía tanto tiempo que su amigo personal, Ronald Reagan había dicho, en un discurso dado el 21 de septiembre de 1987 ante la XLII Asamblea General de la ONU: “En nuestra obsesión con los antagonismos del momento, nos olvidamos a menudo de cuánto une a todos los miembros de la humanidad. Quizás necesitamos un cierto peligro exterior, una amenaza universal para hacer que realicemos una alianza común. Pienso de vez en cuando cómo nuestras diferencias desaparecerían rápidamente si hiciéramos frente a una amenaza extraterrestre, de fuera de este mundo.”

En dicha conferencia algo más se puso de manifiesto: el consenso entre los presentes de que si ese contacto masivo se hiciera realidad, tal vez “ellos” no dirían simplemente “llévennos con su líder” sino preferirían iniciar tratativas con alguna agrupación o “familia” de incidencia mundial, con predisposición manifiesta para un “Nuevo Orden” y con capacidad de comunicación con organizaciones intermedias de impacto popular. Los Rockefeller, por ejemplo. Después de todo, la energía verdadera en este mundo no está en las manos de gobiernos, sino reside en las grandes corporaciones transnacionales. Ahora, de ser este el caso, Laurance ha hecho bien el papel de mediador entre la imagen pública de los extraterrestres y el control del pensamiento de algunos investigadores. En el medio, el control mental de la Humanidad ante esta revelación que shockeará sus mentes, sin duda alguna. Si esta teoría es correcta, debe imponerse gradualmente a las masas esa imagen. Tal “gradualismo” sería así un condicionamiento social dirigido por la clase dominante, la sociedad Bilderberg y la Comisión Trilateral. El investigador Glenn Campbell escribía:

“El encubrimiento OVNI es verdadero, pero el verdadero responsable no es el gobierno. El impacto de “La Guerra de los Mundos” de 1938 convenció a las clases superiores de que el populacho no estaba preparado, y no lo está todavía. De allí en más se ha dedicado mucha atención respecto a cómo producir una repercusión social mínima, y se ha colegido que lo más sensato es filtrar información gradualmente, en plazos muy prolongados”. Ellos saben que no pueden admitir ningún contacto por mínimo que fuese sin terminar siendo forzados a revelarlo todo (¿usted puede imaginar a la prensa de todo el planeta demandando menos?). Como la caída del comunismo, una vez que la pared se agrieta, se vendrá abajo de una sola vez, sin oportunidad posterior de controlar la información. Este “lanzamiento gradual” consistiría entonces en aclimatar gradualmente y emocionalmente a la población a la forma y las ideas de la presencia alienígena, lo que más probablemente se puede hacer con más eficiencia por ficciones selectivas que por la verdad, porque las ficciones pueden ser controladas. Presentar situaciones noveladas que contengan solamente una porción de la verdad”. El resto puede ser pura dramatización, apta para distribuirla comercialmente. Así se obtienen dos resultados: el efecto psicológico deseado, y réditos financieros. Ya en uno de mis viejos artículos sobre los Illuminati señalé que la eficacia de los mismos estriba en que mientras las manipulaciones políticas o militares pueden ser o no exitosas pero siempre implican grandes erogaciones económicas y ningún resultado provechoso material inmediato, las manipulaciones de la corporación Illuminati satisfacen ambos planos, con lo cual son autosustentables y autopotenciables.

Como para llevar más lejos esta teoría, en el fin de semana del 18 y 19 de marzo de 1995, la compañía Walt Disney lanzó una transmisión simultánea de televisión, un supuesto “documental OVNI” en cinco estados: Connecticut, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida y California. Esta sorprendente producción fue acompañada por declaraciones públicas del CEO de WD, Michael Eisner (también miembro prominente del clan Rockefeller) haciendo afirmaciones como éstas:

“La Humanidad está en medio del acontecimiento más importante dela historia: un contacto real con vida inteligente de otros planetas”.
“Inteligencias de galaxias distantes están tratando de hacer contacto con nosotros, y esta noche presentaremos las evidencias”.
“Más allá de nuestras opiniones personales, seres inteligentes están invitando a la especie humana a sumarse a los planes galácticos”.
“En los últimos años naves alienígenas están llegando en oleadas a la Tierra provocando un tsunami de avistamientos”.
“Tan temprano como en 1947, grandes naves extraterrestres cruzaron el espacio gracias a su avanzada tecnología y si bien alcanzaron nuestro planeta, algunas de ellas se estrellaron en nuestros suelos”.
“Mostraremos todo sobre el accidente de Roswell y la recuperación de la nave y los cuerpos de tres expedicionarios no humanos, todo ocultado por el gobierno de Truman y su comisión de los 12” (Se refiere al controvertido Majestic-12).

A esto debemos sumar que en 1996, el ovnílogo Richard Boylan, presente en la conferencia de HPF, escribía que “hay una estrategia de cuatro pasos para revelar su presencia. Primero, al parecer están incrementando la frecuencia de sus apariciones así como lo expuesto de las mismas. No sólo aparecen más, sino en zonas cada vez más pobladas. Segundo, un número creciente de abducidos y contactados se avienen a comentar sus experiencias con psicoterapeutas, investigadores y público. Muchos investigadores y terapeutas han divulgado cifras que indican cómo se incrementan de forma significativa incluso los testimonios no solicitados. Tercero, muchos “contactados” en particular y ovnílogos en general se sienten obligados a traer el tema extraterrestre al debate público, y los informes provenientes de todo el país indican que es mucha la gente que está experimentando la urgencia de este propósito. Cuarto, el cambio de actitud de muchos gobiernos o líderes políticos, permitiendo filtrarse información hasta entonces clasificada, o proponiendo abiertamente el debate.”. Deténganse un momento. Repasen estos comentarios. Si la afirmación de Boyan es correcta, ¿qué es necesario para que este plan se cumpla en este orden? Que ambas partes (extraterrestres y algunos humanos) estén de acuerdo, porque este plan no funcionaría si una parte no es funcional a la otra. Y si el plan realmente está en marcha, entonces, realmente, hay un contacto encubierto entre extraterrestres y humanos con poder.

Boylan también sugiere que fuentes bien informadas en los comités nacionales republicano y demócrata estén intentando determinar si los OVNIs y particularmente el secreto del gobierno sobre ellos, pudieron ser un elemento de legítimo interés electoral en algunas de las últimas elecciones presidenciales. En una tentativa evidente de evitar ser tomado por sorpresa en cuestiones de acceso a información OVNI, el presidente nacional del partido republicano Hailee Barbour y otros funcionarios del Comité Nacional Republicano ha entrado en contacto con varios astronautas para aprender algo más sobre OVNIs. Por su parte, el Comité Nacional Demócrata está considerando agregar una o más preguntas relacionadas con OVNIs en un cuestionario nacional con miras a las próximas elecciones. La incidencia política de la “pasión OVNI” (porque es indudable que este tema genera expectativas, esperanzas, temores, es decir, respuestas elementales de nuestra afectividad) es tan significativo que aunque la cuestión de visitantes extraterrestres fuera sólo una hipótesis de experimento sociopsicológico, la fuerza e impacto que tiene en las creencias de buena parte de la humanidad podrían justificar que los Rockefeller estén ahí.

Incidentalmente, recordemos que Laurance Rockefeller fue el financista de la espectacular aparición pública del “Disclosure Project”, en mayo de 2001. Luego de las explosivas declaraciones de esa recordada rueda de prensa, donde científicos, militares, ex funcionarios gubernamentales salieron a la palestra advirtiendo algo así como “si no lo admiten ustedes —en referencia al gobierno— lo haremos nosotros”, y sin mella en la credibilidad y credenciales de los allí convocados, lo cierto es que a seis años de ese evento y fuera de sus declaraciones juramentadas, los integrantes del Disclosure Project no han presentado ni una evidencia física de sus afirmaciones. Esto ha provocado que aún pese al buen nombre y honor de los autoconvocados, buena parte de la prensa reaccionara con escepticismo y con mayor escepticismo aún pasado este tiempo. No eran fondos ni influencia política de lo que carecía el Disclosure para reunir sus evidencias. ¿Qué pasó? ¿Nadie se dio cuenta de que así provocaron el efecto exactamente contrario al que decían buscar? Pero, ¿y si fuera esto lo que precisamente deseaban conseguir?

La otra historia de Laurance

Creo que es obvio. Este autor desconfía de las “sanas” inquietudes de (que Dios lo tenga en su Gloria… y que no lo suelte) Laurance Rockefeller. Porque si por un momento pensé que podía haber una “oveja negra” en esta dinastía mundial, un producto transgresor y rebelde contra el imperio dominante, uno, buscando, encuentra otras cosas.

En 1969, Henry Kissinger tomaba el control del Consejo Nacional de Seguridad y del Departamento de Estado, y bajo su petición el entonces presidente Richard Nixon estableció una Comisión para el Crecimiento Demográfico, cuya dirección fue confiada a, ¿adivinen quién? Sí: Laurance Rockefeller. En un informe de 1972, esta comisión apelaba a un crecimiento demográfico cero, tanto en los Estados Unidos como en el resto del mundo. Paralelamente, la Oficina de Asuntos Demográficos del Departamento de Estado inició en 1970 la publicación de una serie de estudios que anticipaban directamente un llamado “Informe Global 2000”. A continuación, Kissinger tomó dos medidas para institucionalizar esta política de planificación del genocidio. En 1975 creó el grupo indicado sobre la política demográfica en el seno del Consejo Nacional de Seguridad y reorganizó el Departamento de Estado añadiéndole un nuevo servicio: el de la Oficina de Océanos y Asuntos Internacionales, Científicos y del Medio Ambiente. Esta oficina tiene la misión de supervisar las transferencias de tecnología al Tercer Mundo. Por iniciativa de Brzezinski y de Vance, el presidente Jimmy Carter encargó a esta oficina la preparación y redacción del Informe Global 2000. Participaron en la elaboración del informe varios bloques pensantes anglo-norteamericanos de la vanguardia del movimiento neomaltusiano —abogados del “pensar lo impensable” para reducir la población del planeta— como la rama norteamericana del World Wildlife Fund, Draper Fund y Population Crisis Comittee. Pero, ¿Qué era el informe Global 2000?

Simple: una proyección y aliento de las necesidades de disminuir drásticamente la población mundial (ver, por ejemplo, en http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/sociopolitica/esp_sociopol_depopu13.htm) y el control de los recursos naturales, la manipulación psicológica de las masas —antes y después de ese corte raso maltusiano— y la organización social para el devenir. Para ello, se alentaban otras formas de “control”, ya que las guerras, si bien efectivas, generan demasiada destrucción natural y dejan una población sobreviviente con la que hay que hacer alguna clase de asistencialismo. Las respuestas: enfermedades controladas, SIDA, etc. Por esos rumbos campeaba el nene Laurance, el amante de la naturaleza, la ecología y los OVNIs.

Plotting, Emergent Narratives, and 'Story Spaces,' Part 2

Yes, the exciting second installment of my Game Set Watch Plot-centric series is now ready to be read. If the idea of a person (another person) talking about Plot in games sounds boring, you should leave. And go read it! To whet your appetite but not (to mix up expressions) slake your thirst, here is a bit from the article:

Narrative can’t help but have an internally coherent organizational logic (called “plot”). The important things about this logic are that it a) unfolds in time for a reader, that is, has a beginning, middle, and end, b) that the experience of reading is one of reading—of discovery and deciphering rather than production and self-creation, and c), that because of this, narratives appear for readers as pre-existing objects, things separate from a reader that demand to be seen and interpreted.

This last point is critical: narratives happen to readers, and speak of an intelligent, exterior design to readers. This is true even when we tell stories to ourselves (the principle on which psychoanalysis works)—we encounter a structure of meaning, or plot, outside ourselves, and re-narrate it to ourselves.

Narrative always comes first, and unless we’re very clear about what we mean by “story spaces” or “tools for making narrative,” it’s unclear how we might provide readers with tools, rather than pre-existing narratives, out of which they themselves will produce narratives, ex nihilo.

Narrative is, to borrow an academic jargon, always there already. It’s naïve to imagine for the sake of polemic that video games, just because they’re new media, are exempt from these rules about narrative, which are something like rules for human psychology. As Peter Brooks argues, we’re just wired this way. We see narratives everywhere, and when we as authors (or, yes, video game designers) produce meaningful artifacts, whatever we call them, we can’t help but encode meaning in them that a reader is going to decipher.

No more Mullin, no more playoffs

In a short period of time, Chris Mullin brought the spark back to Warriors basketball. The fans remember Mullin from the good ol’ Run TMC days, but more recently, he engineered a contending playoff time. Fans can still remember the Baron Davis dunk over AK47 in the second round, the yellow “We Believe” shirts, and the run-n-gun offense that surprised the #1 seeded Mavs. Ahh, those were the days. It seems like those days are long gone, as Mullin will likely be removed from his GM role. I read this compelling article about Mullin’s relationship with Coach Nellie, the front office, and how he felt about his role.

In the past year, the Warriors treated Mullin shabbily. They ignored his advice, marginalized him and embarrassed him. Mullin took all this without lashing out.

It seems like Oracle Arena will only retain the memories of yesteryear. What the heck, Go Warriors!

KNOXX spokesmodel, Alexia Lei, recently made appearances in San Francisco at the Supper Club and Infusion Lounge. KNOXX took the opportunity to show her around San Francisco. We brought her to Union Square where she was able to see part of the city and do some shopping.

We found out that she is a huge basketball fan and her favorite team is the LA Lakers. The Golden State Warriors weren’t playing against the Laker’s that weekend, but, there was a scheduled Warriors/Clippers game. Needless to say, KNOXX took Alexia Lei to that game for a NorCal vs. SoCal showdown. (shes from So. Cal).

We first had dinner and cocktails at Oracle Arena’s Court Side Club then watched the game courtside.

Unfortunately, the Golden State Warriors beat the LA Clippers with a score of 107-92. Sorry Alexia Lei ! Ha!

Dänen, Iren, Spanier und Amerikaner haben eine neue Geldanlage für sich entdeckt: Berliner Mietwohnungen. Ihre starke Nachfrage bringt den hiesigen Wohnungsmarkt in Wallung, die Preise ziehen an. Einheimische Interessenten müssen sich sputen, sonst bleiben für sie nur noch teure Schrott-Immobilien. 120 Quadratmeter, Altbau, drei Zimmer ganz oben, Kamin, für 120.000 Euro. Thorsten Tinney und Helena Blöcker glauben an ein Schnäppchen, als sie auf das Exposé der Eigentumswohnung bei immobilienscout24.de stoßen. Dazu noch Verkauf von privat, also ohne die lästigen sechs Prozent Provision, die Berliner Makler in der Regel vom Käufer verlangen. Das Schauspieler-Pärchen vereinbart sofort einen Besichtigungstermin mit dem Besitzer und braust im grauen Audi nach Steglitz.

Noch auf der Stadtautobahn wird die Wohnung eingerichtet: Omas großer Kleiderschrank passt genau neben das Bett, die Couch vor den Kamin, die Küche bekommt einen Bistro-Tischchen für den schnellen Kaffee am Morgen – die Szenerie atmet tiefes häusliches Glück! Obwohl die beiden ständig in ganz Deutschland unterwegs sind, wollen sie doch einen sicheren Heimathafen in Berlin haben, „einen Platz, wo die Mehrzahl meiner Bücher steht“, beschreibt es der Charakterdarsteller. „Ich muss einen Mittelpunkt im Leben haben, ich bin ja so schon immer hin und her geworfen zwischen Rollen und Städten.“ Und heute sieht es ganz so aus, als hätte er ihn nach elf erfolglosen Besichtigungen gefunden. Es herrscht noch Champagnerlaune, als die beiden aus dem Auto steigen. Doch der erste Blick auf das Traumhaus genügt, um beide schlagartig zu ernüchtern: Der Altbau ist aus den dreißiger Jahren, die Decken niedrig, zu zwei Seiten braust dichter Verkehr, vor dem Haus leuchtet eine Tankstelle. „Man hört selbst im vierten Stock permanent die Autos“ sagt Tinney enttäuscht, „und da bin ich natürlich bei einer Kaufwohnung sensibler als wenn ich miete.“ Eine Wohnungsbesichtigung ist eben wie das erste Date mit einem Unbekannten: zu 99 Prozent eine maßlose Enttäuschung. „Man redet sich die Anzeige schön, man fantasiert, weil man will, dass es passt“, sagt Tinney. Auch die Freundin will sich nicht recht erwärmen. „Ganz schlimm fand ich, dass die Nachbarn ihre vollen Mülltüten in den Hausflur gestellt haben.“

Pech für alle, die sich im Moment nach einer Eigentumswohnung umsehen: Das Angebot an gutem Wohnraum wird spürbar knapper! Denn Berliner Zimmer sind gefragt wie lange nicht mehr! Der hiesige Immobilienmarkt ist kräftig in Bewegung geraten und schuld daran sind ausländische Investoren, die ihm enorme Entwicklungspotentiale zuschreiben. Sie kommen mit Billigfliegern aus Kopenhagen, Dublin und Rom. Montagsfrüh sind die Maschinen so gestopft voll, dass die Flieger unter Maklern schon „Investment-Bomber“ heißen. Bereits in der Luft werden Exposes studiert, einer schielt dem anderen in den Schoß, denn jeder will sich die Rosinen rauspicken - es herrscht ein erbitterter Häuserkampf um Berlin. Die Folgen sind überall deutlich zu spüren: die Sachbearbeiterinnen vieler großer Hausverwaltungen müssen jetzt allabendlich Englischkurse besuchen, ganze Kanzleien haben sich auf die juristische Beratung ausländischer Investoren spezialisiert, erklären ihnen, dass Mieter in Deutschland ein paar Rechte genießen, wie eine Nebenkostenabrechnung aussieht und dass man bei Altbauten mit Denkmalschützern rechnen muss. Selbst das das englischsprachige Magazin „Exberliner“ gibt seinen Lesern unter dem Titel “Buying a flat in Berlin“ ein paar Tipps für den Wohnungskauf auf den Weg. Alle wollen am neuen Geschäft mit den Wohnungen mitverdienen. „Die ausländischen Investoren haben die Renditechancen vor den einheimischen erkannt und nutzen sie, denn sie kennen die Dynamik ihrer Heimatmärkte“, sagt Rackham Schröder, Geschäftsführer der Sparte Gewerbeimmobilien beim Maklerbüro Engel & Völkers, „allerdings sind in Kopenhagen oder Barcelona nur noch Renditen von zwei Prozent drin, in Berlin dagegen weitaus mehr.“

Den ersten Boom gab es bereits kurz nach dem Mauerfall und der Entscheidung für Berlin als Hauptstadt. Alle glaubten damals, der neue Regierungssitz würde die märkische Sandburg zur Megametropole machen und spekulierten auf drastisch steigende Immobilienpreise. Die Möglichkeiten für steuerliche Sonderabschreibungen taten ihr übriges und machten den Ostteil der Stadt für Investoren zusätzlich attraktiv. Doch bekanntlich kam alles anders: Der Aufschwung ließ auf sich warten, die Stadt verlor Einwohner anstatt zu wachsen und immer mehr Industriearbeitsplätze wurden abgewickelt. Nach Auslaufen der Sonderabschreibungen 1997 stagnierte der Markt endgültig – wer in der Nachwende-Euphorie gekauft hatte, musste nun mit erheblichen Wertverlusten zurechtkommen. Heute können alle wieder aufatmen, die zu früh investiert haben, denn der Wind hat sich gedreht. „Die positive Grundstimmung des vergangenen Jahres und des ersten Halbjahres 2006 hält weiter an“, frohlockt der Ring Deutscher Makler, Landesverband Berlin-Brandenburg, in einer Pressemitteilung Ende September. Besonders spannend sei die Trendwende beim Miethausmarkt: „Die dynamische Entwicklung hat viele Marktteilnehmer überrascht und ein Ende ist noch nicht in Sicht.“ Vor allem die Nachfrage aus dem Ausland sei sehr stark, da die Berliner Immobilien im Vergleich mit denen anderer europäischer Hauptstädten deutlich unterbewertet seien. „Mit dem Verkauf der GSW fiel der Startschuss für eine Jagd um die attraktivsten Berliner Immobilien“, jubelt Rackham Schröder. Im Mai 2004 ging die bis dato landeseigene Wohnungsbaugesellschaft für 405 Millionen Euro an den US-amerikanischen Private Equity-Fond mit dem schönen Namen Cerberus, zu Deutsch „Höllenhund“. Im Windschatten des großen institutionellen Anlegers Cerberus kamen auch kleinere ausländische Investoren, die nur ein oder zwei Wohnhäuser kaufen und schließlich auch immer mehr Privatleute, die sich eine billige Zweitwohnung an der Spree zulegen. Anders als die Berliner haben die meisten Zugezogenen keine Scheu vor Kauf und Finanzierung, denn in vielen Metropolen ist es üblich, seine Wohnung zu erwerben, anstatt wie in Berlin zur Miete zu wohnen. Die Immobiliencommunity sei eben klein, meint Schröder, man kriege mit, wenn irgendwo ein Markt entdeckt wird. „Seitdem performt der Berliner Markt“, sagt der 35-jährige Betriebswirt und guckt zufrieden aus seinem Fenster im 19. Stock. Sein Büro ist im selben Bürotower an der Rudi-Dutschke-Straße wie das der GSW. Hier spielt auch die SAT.1- Soap „Verliebt in Berlin“ und das sind sie ungelogen bis über beide Ohren: 2006 ist eines der besten Jahre in der Geschichte des Maklerbüros, Schröders 100 Mitarbeiter haben 200 Objekte gehandelt und über eine Milliarde Euro umgesetzt.

Doch der Run auf Berliner Immobilien versetzt nicht alle in Freudentaumel. Reiner Wild lässt er vielmehr die Sorgenfalten in die Stirn treten. Denn die gesteigene Nachfrage hat nicht nur Auswirkungen auf Kaufimmobilien, sondern auch auf die Mieten und Rainer Wild ist stellvertretender Hauptgeschäftsführer des Berliner Mietervereins. „Die Situation für die Mieter wird sich verschlechtern“, prophezeit er. Denn um die Einnahmen zu steigern und damit Einstiegskosten und Kredite zu begleichen, gebe es für Immobilienbesitzer nur drei Möglichkeiten: Erstens Kostensenkung bei der Verwaltung, zum Beispiel indem Investitionen und Instandhaltungen zurückgefahren und Personal abgebaut wird, was zu Lasten des Mieter-Service ginge. Zweitens durch den Weiterverkauf einzelner Wohnungen. Und schließlich und endlich durch Mieterhöhungen. Dazu durchforstet der neue Besitzer den Bestand und erhöht überall bis zum Anschlag. Im freifinanzierten Wohnungsbau gibt es da zwei gesetzliche Obergrenzen: Die ortsübliche Vergleichsmiete und die Maßgabe, dass die Miete innerhalb von drei Jahren nicht mehr als 20 Prozent steigen darf. Gerade wer noch mit einem Uralt-Mietvertrag ausgestattet und unverschämt günstig in einer Stuck behangenen Gründerzeit-Wohnung sitzt, wird sich nach einem Verkauf seines Hauses auf Mieterhöhungen einstellen müssen. Denn vor allem im alten Westteil sind noch viele Objekte in privater Hand und nicht auf Höchstertrag getrimmt. „Wenn jemand ein Haus über Jahre besitzt, ist der Kreditdruck oft nicht mehr so hoch, weil vieles bereits abgezahlt ist“, erklärt Reiner Wild die vermeintliche Großzügigkeit von Altbesitzern. In manchen Kudamm-Seitenstraßen zum Beispiel findet man heute noch Mieten um 5,50 Euro den Quadratmeter – solche Objekte wecken Begehrlichkeiten bei Investoren, denn da ist ordentlich Spielraum für Erhöhungen drin. Diese wiederum treiben den gesamten Mietspiegel nach oben, der ja nichts anderes ist, als ein Vergleichswert, eine Sammlung von Durchschnittsmieten innerhalb eines Gebiets, sortiert nach unterschiedlichen Ausstattungsmerkmalen. Erhöhen sich rundherum die Mieten, steigt auch das Niveau des Mietspiegels und damit ist der Weg frei für eine neuerliche Erhöhungsrunde auch in nicht verkauften Wohnungen. „Durch die Verkäufe wird das Angebot an preiswertem Wohnraum knapper, weil sie Mieterhöhungsspielräume massiv ausnutzen“, sagt Wild, die Verkaufsspirale ließe nach und nach alle Mieten deutlich ansteigen.

Das Nachsehen angesichts der hektischen Aktivitäten auf dem Wohnungsmarkt haben die weniger finanzstarken, einheimischen Käufer, Leute wie Thorsten Tinney und Helena Blöcker. Falls sie nicht doch noch ein Schnäppchen machen, bleiben für sie nur zentrumsferne Lagen oder gar Schrott-Immobilien übrig. Bisher konnte keiner der drei Makler, mit denen sie in dauerndem Kontakt stehen, Angebote vorlegen, die sie begeistert hätten. Einer der drei, der ungenannt bleiben will, klagt darüber, kaum noch an marktgängige Objekte zu kommen. Auch er verkauft in seinem kleinen Wilmersdorfer Ladenbüro hauptsächlich an Ausländer, die einfach mehr ausgeben könnten. Einem jungen Dänen, eben über 20, hat er gerade eine 4-Zimmer-Wohnung in Kreuzberg verkauft, unsaniert für 100.000 Euro. Für den Dänen ein rechter Spottpreis, denn sein Appartement in der Innenstadt von Kopenhagen verkaufte er selbst für 200.000 Euro. Es ist der vierte Däne in dem Wohnhaus nahe dem Landwehrkanal. „Berlin gefällt denen gut, weil es billig ist und hier 24 Stunden lang was los ist“, meint der Makler. Zwei andere Dänen haben grade ein ganzes Haus in der Zossener Straße gekauft. Sie wollen sich das Dach ausbauen, damit sie am Wochenende auch mal Spaß in der Stadt haben können. Berliner Interessenten seien eben immer noch verwöhnt. „Die haben noch nicht mitbekommen, dass er Markt anzieht“, grummelt der bärtige Makler, „die handeln auf Teufel komm raus oder warten noch ab.“ Doch wie lange können sie sich das noch leisten? My cyclometer was seated but not reading the wheelspin, so I had to make an adjustment on the road. Another half a mile would definitely increase my ride time for the morning, up into 22 or more. I’m not upset, Saturday’s Century was amazing!

I put the pedal down on my way home, kept my cadence up, kept my speed up, and basically flew home. It’s not a record but it’s a damn good time:

Hopefully I can make the 6pm group ride with the Granite State Wheelmen. Am I up for 16-17mph for 25-35 miles? You bet I am!

I got lost, but managed to show up before the group left. It should have been 5 miles there, but I did a bit more than that. The following are as accurate as I can remember of the ride we did:

Riding in a group is a tremendous amount of fun. First of all, there’s the exhilaration of staring at another man’s bottom as you draft behind him, and attempt not to hit any *surprise* potholes which you likely will not be able to avoid. Then, there’s the bright eyed wonder of watching your best effort to stay at the head of the pack be dashed by a guy on a recumbent bicycle, who makes passing you look far too easy. It was incredibly beneficial to be humbled by people much older than myself. This last bit is true, actually.

In honesty, I really enjoyed myself. I found out that there really are a ton of other people out there as crazy as I am, and that’s always fun. It was nice to chat with other people who ride as a workout, or people who used to race, or just chat about cycling. There are only a few more rides this season. Including one on Wednesdays. What fun!

My cyclometer is now reading an impressive 1948 miles. I will be breaking Two Thousand Miles this week. Awesome!

Collaborating College Style

We moved our youngest to college this past weekend and boy did they have the collaboration thing down pat! We have moved 4 others to college between my husband and myself and this was truly the smoothest we have ever seen. No lines at the tables for check in, all the rooms were ready, hand trucks and volunteers to go with them were waiting anxiously to help each and every car that pulled in. Water for all (and they did NOT run out) and even a meal for the hungry moms, dads and kids for free! It was amazing and reminded me of what great things can happen when everyone has a role and knows what it is! Activities were planned for the new college students beginning at 5pm on move in day so that got the hovering moms and dads out of there! Brillant move as well! They seemed to have thought of everything. Some best practices that I feel they had to have adhered to are:

Lots of good planning; stuff like this doesn’t just happen
No one person controlled the entire event; delegation is always the best policy
Everyone respected each other’s roles and were concerned with doing their role the best they could and they TRUSTED others to do the same
Every scenerio was played out ahead of time so there were no surprises
They took the human aspect seriously–goodbyes are tough so they filled the aftermath with fun activities for the kids; they planned a parent meeting so parents would get out of the dorm room. BUT the plan was done with empathy for each person’s feelings.

When we left I knew it was the right place.

Kudos to Georgia Southwestern for a well planned, smooth move in day!

Golden State Warriors: “We Believe in 2008” Tour Concluded

The Golden State Warriors failed to capitalize on what was likely their last chance to make the 2008 NBA Playoffs, with a 105-114 loss to the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

The play of Nuggets’ guard, Allen Iverson, and Forward, Carmelo Anthony, proved to be too much for the Warriors to handle. With 33 and 25 points respectively, the Nuggets’ big two effectively ended any hope of a 2008 playoff berth for the team from Oakland.

Golden State fought back with a late rally lead by Monta Ellis with a 33 point effort. The door was slammed shut, however, following an Iverson 3 point shot that swung the momentum back to the Nuggets for good.

“Everybody knew what was at stake,” Iverson later said about the game. Teammate Anthony said, “It was ‘win or go home’ in our minds.” The nuggets leveraged this ‘win or go home’ mentality for motivation and were able to effectively parlay that into a win.

There are still slim playoff hopes for the now frantic Warriors. If Golden State was to win all three of their remaining games and the Nuggets were to lose out, the warriors would take the 8^th and final spot in the west.

In my opinion this is very unlikely to happen. It appears to be much more likely that Golden State will take home the dubious honor of “winningest” team ever to miss the playoffs. I will keep you all informed of any amazing comeback in the unlikely event it takes place, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

NBA Blatherings With Malice...

Lots to talk about, not much time to do it as far as the end of the season is fast approaching…

In what amazingly enough seems like an act of revenge, the s… sorry – the Sonics defeated the Denver Nuggets in 2OT the other day, 151-147. Thereby earning the right to use a capital ‘S’ once again. Well done sSonics (sorry, hard to break the habit)!
The Clippers continue to look woeful. After a promising games at the start of the season, everything’s gone pear-shaped with little LA. A 26 point loss to the Rockets – who had themselves looked to be in bit of a tailspin post The Streak – really highlights what’s a very disappointing season.
The Lakers 22 point win over Sacramento has me feeling a little better. Vlad (“Looks like Borat & he’s good from 3…”) Radmanovic getting double figures in rebounds is awesome stuff… and Gasol’s getting refueled. Still… I am more confident about next season, rather than this one. Hopefully they can continue to do that against the woeful Clippers…
HUGE game between Golden State & Denver today… almost a mini-playoff. And maybe it’s just me, but I think that both match up rather well against New Orleans… I feel guilty that even after the season New Orleans has had, I still don’t give them due respect. Oh well, shoganai.
The game against Utah is pretty important for Dallas too – they really need to take a little more confidence into the playoffs, so a win for them against the Jazz would be big, especially given they will probably face the Spurs. Big for the Jazz to have a win against another playoff-bound Western team.
Kobe should be MVP… and quite a few folks – including Joe Dumars & Rafer Alston – are lobbying for him…
Along the line of the Lakers, Mitch Kupchak should be GM of the year…
Coach of the Year – (ex-Laker) Byron Scott… bit of a thematic going, huh?

GSW Project Volume 01

This is the first Volume in a very large collection of Frank Zappa spoken word releases. It’s called the GSW Project. GSW stands for Gigantic Spoken Word. There will be some music in there but there won’t be any live concerts in the GSW Project. They consist of radio interviews and journalist reporter type personal interviews. During the radio interviews sometimes music was played as background or added before thebroadcast in between questions and answers. Sometimes FZ acts as D.J., plays records from his collection and talks to the radio audience. But the main focus of this series is FZ interviews which to me is as interesting as his music.
