2:22 A.M.

Monday, Home.

I’m sorry I neglected you.

I’ve been in such a weird mood lately, but now I understand. I started my period today, so I guess I should have known better. I don’t like to think that I get emotional because of such a thing, but I guess I do. After all, I tend to get really down right before it begins, and once it does I’m either really happy or really depressed.

No wait, I’m pretty alright at the moment. I don’t feel happy but I don’t feel sad. I’m just ok.

Moving forward, I received some great encouragement today. The guy didn’t know that he had helped me, I know, but it meant a lot to me. He told me he was impressed with how I put Jesus first in my life. He also told me that he respected me because of all I don’t do. For instance, drugs, sex, and drinking alcohol. I know this was God trying to show me one of the reasons why refraining from these things are good. I’m glad He reminded me in time. Or rather, that I listened.

He works in mysterious ways, and sometimes I get so mad at Him that I say things I shouldn’t, but He is certainly the best.

So I just wanted to let you know how I’m doing Diary. Today was pretty good so I don’t have any complaints. Well, except for a rather bad dinner experience at Apple Bee’s, haha. The cooks there must have sucked because it took them a long time to give us anything. To say the least, my family isn’t going there anymore. I probably will though. My dinner didn’t get messed up so… Oh, and we went to Dairy Queen after that. I know it’s the winter but hey, ice cream is always good. :]

That’s really all I have to say today.

P.S.
The encouragement got mentioned when I was speaking of Three Days Grace. I had said if I didn’t have Jesus, I would be after Adam Gontier. Haha!

P.P.S.
It’s now 4:27 A.M. I have sewing lessons today at 10. I should probably get some sleep, but seeing as how I got up so late today (3 p.m.) that probably won’t happen. I’ve really messed up my sleeping pattern. Also, I feel fat. I’m going to run tomorrow, hopefully. I’m going to try and lose five pounds, or at least get whatever abs I had back. Maybe I’ll throw in some lunges or go to the gym too.

When I was little, I use to think that Boxing Day was called Boxing Day because it was the special garbage day for all the holiday wrapping and boxes. Now I’ve learned that not only do the city sanitation workers have the day off, but the people who camp outside stores waiting for it to open are completely crazy.

I remember doing the whole Boxing Day thing with my girlfriends in high school. We live a stone’s throw away from Metro so that would always be our #1 destination… but it was the biggest gongshow ever! I think the most successful shopping year was when my friend brought her boyfriend and we sent him ahead to line up to get into the store, the change room, and the cash register. Poor guy.

My point is, I’ve done the early mornings… I’ve even worked 2 Boxing Days at Metro… and I’ve also been snowed inside my house on Boxing Day… And being snowed in and shopping online was probably the best thing ever.

This year I took some “how to shop online” advice from one of my favorite blogs, demicouture, and her post “13 Ways to Never Pay Fill Price for Your Clothing.”

So here’s a round up of discounts from my favorite e-tailers!

Once again if you can ship to a US address use FREE100 to get free shipping on orders over $100

That’s it for a quick and dirty scour of my inbox and regular clicks.

I would definitely recommend checking out demicouture for a more completely online and in-store (Vancouver specific) discount guide!

Happy shoppings everyone!

Dear wordpress readers, I know it has been a while but the “while” has been truly succe

Dear wordpress readers,

I know it has been a while but the “while” has been truly successful on my side. What about yours?? Everything from discoveries to writing breathrough to creating even more blogs. Yes, it’s possible to have even more blogs than I already did and guess what the count is now: 14!!

The first, Just a Girl (at daughtersinthelord.blogspot.com), is for all the ladies out there!! Lord knows we need each other and all of the support in the world, “‘Cause it’s hard out there for a [[chiqq]]” LoL See, I’ve never been one to prefer a gender over the other, thinking one is better than the other. What I mean by that is, I believe in equal rights. Yes, I’m a feminist. Nobody, not even my grandmother, can stop me. Conservative views CAN mix with feminist views. God made us different but equal. A weaker vessel doesn’t mean a less important or less able person. I’m not a man, I’m a woman but I won’t ever let anybody tell me that means I’m less of a person than a man. I have felt like it’s hard growing up in this world period but being female, I know certain experiences of struggle we have more than I know what it’s like growing up being male, so, I’m offering support to all of the females out there in the issues we face daily. This blog is new, obviously and so far, just has poems and link lists. Any reviews, comments suggestions, comment on the blog, please!! Now, this brings me to the second:

LiL Girl, at lilgirlgrowingup.blogspot.com, is with the same focus as the blog above but for the younger generations and addresses the stereotypes of being a woman. Almost every woman has been referred to in a belittling manner at some point, by someone thinking they were inadequate because they were a female. A woman should not feel like a little girl in a grown-up’s body but many do..and some even still look like little girls on purpose. If you’re raising a young girl, this is the blog to visit. It’s all about the mentality of womanhood. I feel a need for this blog reach & cater to women everywhere, so, input is always welcome, regardless of age or location.

Last but not least, I have my editing blog!!!!! I finally feel like I can cool off with the new blogs because eDITORcHRIS now has her editing space. Visit thewholepiece.blogspot.com to see!! From receiving writing tips to receiving editing/proofreading services, it’s where to go for any writer trying to take themselves to a more serious level. Understand, it’s one thing to communicate and another to communicate effectively, where you’re actually being heard. Others hear you when they understand you and if you’re not communicating in a way they understand, you’re simply talking (or writing) not sharing. Things like fixing a misplaced or misspelled word can go far in increasing the attentiveness and focus someone is willing to devote to your writing. Realize that, in order for what anyone writes to be relevant to someone else, they must be able to read it. Each and every word is valuable and makes a difference. We all use words, whether talking or typing. Words aren’t going away. eDITORcHRIS will help you to use them properly, to the best advantage and make your messages clear. Guess what, it’s all for free, too…for now, at least!!

AS FAR AS POSTS:

On Saturday, December 19th, I wrote Top 8 Reasons to Take B Vitamins.

On Thursday, December 17th, I wrote Thoughtful Thursday.

On Tuesday, December 22nd, I wrote Slightly reflective, non-uniform inspiration for the day.

i’VE REVAMPED THE LOOK AND WORKED OUT KINKS WITH FEEDBURNER SO I’M MUCH MORE SATISFIED W/ ALl OF MY BLOGS AND DEEPLY INTERESTED TO LEARN HOW I WILL DEVELOP THEM FUrTHER IN THE NEAR FUTURE….

Also, in recent weeks, I have joined forces with MY BROTHERS!! If you don’t know them yet, you will. From recording music to inviting them to write on a couple of my blogs, everything’s been flowing beautifully!!

{{very}} PERSONAL CHANGES:

I packed to go on a trip to Virginia that I, in the end, didn’t go on. Read some context here: Choices

This morning, I prayed this prayer: Lord, I’ve made many mistakes…but if You forgive me, lead me now.

Unpacking from the trip I didn’t go on brought a lot of order into my life, as did the packing. I found many things and re-organized…one thing I re-discovered is this: What’s on Your Mind?, a book I bought earlier this year at a church. Bought 3 that day, actually. All of these books and more were sitting in a bookbag ever since my summer vacation and since September, the bookbag has been at the bottom of a closet in my new room that I moved into at the beginning of September!!

Now, on the topic of books and discoveries, I’ll be getting to those now:

–An e-mail from Focus on the Family had me learning of a great book to link to on my new two geared-toward-girls blogs:

Let’s Walk the Talk! Girlfriend to Girlfriend on Faith, Friendships & Finding Real Love

By: Danae Dobson

–My homepage is boundless.org and I opened up my internet browser to find them supporting yet another book I later linked to for my new geared-toward-girl blogs:

Raising a Modern-Day Princess: Inspiring Purpose, Value, and Strength in Your Daughter

By: Pam Farrel, Doreen Hanna

So, everything was coming together!! I’m sure that they’ll be great reads and was looking for good resources to add to those link lists!!

Last of the books:

–Somehow, someway, no doubt being through blogging or procrastinating, I found this! That led me to…

Primal: A Quest for the Lost Soul of Christianity

By: Mark Batterson

I have a new author added to the list of my faves!!

Moving on from books into other media-related discoveries:

I went onto my MySpace and saw this comment:

Whats good fam!!

The United in Christ Mixtape Vol.II is out, DOWNLOAD FREE AT:

Many blessings,

CL

So, I checked it out. Hear it 4 urself:

On tumblr, while looking for Christian blogs to “follow,” I came across a cool video:

My husband, Erik, and I are going out tonight for the first time in two years. He has reconnected with many of his childhood friends on Facebook and they have planned a party at the Glass Cactus. Since we haven’t been out, alone without kids in a while, we decided to go shopping a few days ago for new outfits. Erik wants a nice pair of jeans. “I pulled up the Glass Cactus website, you know, and it said there’s a dress code. It said no baggy jeans and no tennis shoes.” ”Screw them! I’ll wear what I want. If they don’t let us in, we’ll go somewhere else.” He doesn’t sound too worried about the rules. What’s new? This is my life with my dear husband. Never a dull moment. Never.

At the mall, we go from Abercrombie to Guess, to the Gap, to Old Navy. In one of the stores he says, in a loud voice, “When, the hell, did Tough Skins become popular again? I’m not a metrosexual! Where are the MEN’s jeans?” People begin to stare. Being married for almost sixteen years, I’m used to that. I don’t even give it a second thought. I see them staring, but it doesn’t really register anymore. “These look like drapes! Look at that! Do you see that?” “I see it.” I say, thinking that we have to pick-up our daughter in less than an hour from school. We leave each store with Erik being more and more pissed.

The last store we go into is Levi’s. I say a silent prayer. “Please, Jesus, this is a denim store…for your Father’s sake, please let THIS store have what he needs.” Erik approaches a very tall guy that looks like he may be the the manager. This “man” can’t be more than twenty years old. “Do you have the old Silver Tab’s?” Erik asks sternly. I’m not even embarassed. I stare blankly at the manager who must be used to this type of questioning, because he doesn’t even flinch. ”You will have to go to a J.C. Penny’s or a Dillards for something like that.” Why does he say “A” J.C. Penney or ”A” Dillards like those stores are not as up-to-date as they used to be. When did that happen? He directs Erik to a large shelf with neatly folded jeans from top to bottom. ”The 505’s will probably work. They’re a regular fit.” Appearance aside, doesn’t he know that my husband is not “regular” in any shape, form or fashion? Erik grabs the jeans and heads to the dressing room. I grab another pair in his size for good luck. I’m sure he will need both pairs once he tries them on.

My mind wanders back to a more carefree time, while in our early twenties, when we went clubbing almost every weekend. Now, we haven’t had any cool, fun sounding drinks since a New Year’s Eve party ten years ago. I make a mental note to order some $45 dollar appetizers while we’re drinking with his old friends. That will not be for us to have something in our stomachs to counteract the drinks. That will be done, so he will be so disgusted with the price of the hor dourves, that he will not want to spend too much on alcohol. I wander around the store looking at rows and rows of jeans everywhere. How incredibily boring, but glorious at the same time. I’m in a store with no kids and not a care in the world. Oh, except for my pissed off husband. He exits the dressing room as disgusted as ever. I quickly throw the second pair of ”lucky” jeans back on the shelf. He practically stomps out. As we exit, he says loudly, “Those jeans rode right up my ass! Right UP MY ASS!” He stops in the middle of the mall. “You know what I mean? They were too short right here.” He yells angrily as he grabs his crotch bowing out his legs on each side. ”I know what you mean. There’s a J.C. Penny here, but we need to pick-up the kids.”

We pass a women’s store with a cute outfit on a very skinny mannequin. I turn around, going in and grabbing the exact clothes, except in a slightly larger size. My husband says, “Don’t you need to try that on?” ”Nope, it will fit.”I say as I hold it up in front of me saying another silent prayer that it fits after we get home. There is no way I am leaving this mall, no kids in tow, without an outfit. We leave quickly, racing to pick-up our daughter. I think of how tragic it would be to have an accident before we even get there, but I don’t dare say a word. We are the last in the pick-up line at school, but we are there nonetheless.

Our night out is tonight, so my husband is off to J.C. Penney, on the Saturday before Christmas no less, in search of a pair of jeans. I wave goodbye to him wishing him luck in finding just the right pair. My next hope is that we are not turned away at the door of the club for wearing jeans in the first place. The irony of that would be too much.

What’s the one line guaranteed to humiliate men everywhere? “Hold my purse”. Trendy handbags are by

What’s the one line guaranteed to humiliate men everywhere? “Hold my purse”. Trendy handbags are by far women’s favorite accessory. Handbags are very useful and personal, which explains why most women carry one with them. Christmas is approaching, and besides being the happiest time of the year, it’s also the gift season. Need an idea? Since they are so valued by women, handbags should at the very least be an option when shopping for gifts for women.

Women are very attached to their handbags, which they closely link to their personality. Whether they go for a hippie chic style or a more reserved brown leather, you can find a colour and style which will fit perfectly with any woman’s unique personality at a price that’s easy to take like the G by Guess Cassandra Satchel. With a vintage appeal and a soft glamorous look, it’s great for a night out.

Purchasing a handbag shows that you put thought and time into picking out a gift. There are a few things you should look out for when choosing a handbag for someone. Among handbag users, there are certain must haves.

Some women must have a handbag that zips closed at the top. Some don’t mind an open purse where everything can be easily accessed. Still others prefer a handbag that’s deep with separate inside pockets for organized storing. Slim and shallow handbags are the top pick for others.

If you plan to buy a handbag for a woman you care about, you should know her preferences. You can figure that out by paying attention to what she’s carrying now. If the colors are muted and the handbag small, then purchasing one that’s oversized with bright swirls probably wouldn’t be your best idea.

But with such a wide selection to choose from, you can find a handbag to please even the toughest connoisseur of handbags. Take the Lesportsac Deluxe Everyday Bag Shoulder Bag for example.

With the wide choices of designs and attractive colors, you’ll find something that will delight any woman. These handbags can go from Little League to an upscale French restaurant on the same day and fit right in. They’re gorgeous and built to last for many years to come. You’ll also find that one of the handbags that make great Christmas gifts for women is the Lesportsac Classic Hobo.

Another hot handbag gift idea is the KATHY Van Zeeland Money Talks Belt Shopper. With this nod to great fashion, you can choose from a variety of colors to fit day or night wear and look good no matter what event is happening.

A word of warning, though. Buying this as a gift for someone else might create a such a desire for one you won’t want to give it up. Thanks to online shopping, you’ll be able to check hundreds of different handbags and find no end to the selection of handbags that make great Christmas gifts for women.

I love the holidays. With a career that dictates business holiday engagements and my social butterf

I love the holidays. With a career that dictates business holiday engagements and my social butterfly friends, it all adds up to one very busy holiday season. Needless to say, this requires a bit of planning on the fashion front. And I’m always up for fashion planning – I know that comes as a surprise to those of you who know me…Me, planning and fashion.

Holiday fashion planning includes perusing my favorite stores and catalogs for my latest and greatest Holiday Season acquisition. Because like no other time of year, the Holiday Season screams for the sumptuous, the statement-worthy, bling, velvet, lace and all of those fabulous outfits that most of us who don’t walk the red carpet on a regular basis seldom get to wear January through November.

Even if I’m not buying, I love to walk the stores during the holidays for inspiration. The clothes…and the jewelry..and the shoes! I better lock away my credit cards because I’m beginning to have shopping drool drip on my laptop-NO BUENO!

Well, I wanted to share some of my fashion obsessions for the 2009 Holiday Season to give you some inspiration:

Cocktail Rings: I love bling and I’m obsessed with Tony Duquette’s aquamarine and amethyst creations. Bulgari as always has rings that I drool over and Chanel has bling to sing for. Not your price point? Hit up Swarovski for the priced-within-reach variety and those of you readers who are my clients, call me and I’ll help you find the most divine cocktail rings.

Liz Palacios at Nordstrom

Necklaces: As you know, I’m obsessed with pearls. My Achilles heel being May Yeung Jewelry and Claudia Endler Designs (don’t think that Claudia Endler Designs pearl necklace from earlier this month isn’t on my Christmas list). Some of other favorites, Nordstrom’s has a Liz Palacios floral filigree statement necklace that’s to die for. Worn with a cocktail ring and a black velvet shift you’ll channel so much Chanel that you may start speaking French. And of course I’m drooling over Chopard’s 255-ruby and 57-carat diamond necklace. Unless my husband and I become Bonnie and Clyde it’s so not going to take up residence in my jewelry wardrobe, but I can dream and I can be inspired to find something similar at Banana Republic – I am a woman on a mission!

Chopard Ruby & Diamond Necklace

Shoes: Loving the funky, sexy and over-the-top shoes these days. Favorites include Guess by Marciano’s cage sandal, Stella McCartney’s disco-inspired gold sandals and Louis Vuitton’s Coquette and Cancan styles.

Louis Vuitton Coquette Pump

Cost-effective alternatives: Use high fashion designers for inspiration and hit up H&M, Forever 21, Banana Republic, Bebe, The Limited and Loehmann’s. They may not have everything you want, but if you are willing to think outside of the box you’ll find interesting pieces to make your 2009 Holiday Season outfits truly festive.
