I’ve embossed the image with clear embossing powder and colored in with a mix of water color pencils and mist. I’ve topped each cupcake with pink glitter glue for extra shimmer.

All the card needs next are some blossoms to add a little texture.

I couldn’t get enough of the Vintage Cool Beans buttons but there was only one of each design in the pack. On this card I actually sewed the button onto the ribbon since I was planning to thread the red floss through it anyway. I added a little glitter glue on both the trees and stars for some shimmer.

I did a little stitching on the paper. Those Bean blossoms are great accents for the layout. Just peel off and stick – easy.

After completing the layout, I found the yellow letters for the tittle a little too light – that is what happens when you scrap late into the night. Good thing a little doodling with a black pen helped draw the eye to it.

In case you are not familiar with Helmar’s products, here’s a pic that shows a lot, but not all, of what they make:

They make high quality, scrapbook-friendly adhesives that really do what you would want/expect an adhesive to do…STICK! Some of their products are incredibly innovative and I haven’t come across anything I could possibly replace them with. I have no idea how I ever crafted with my Helmar!

Some of my favorite products made by Helmar:

450 Quick Dry – This is a thicker, clear liquid adhesive that works fabulously on ribbons and trims. Handmade flowers are a snap with this wonder! It also works with just about anything! You can use it on acryllic, metal, wood, paper, chipboard, cardboard, canvas and the list goes on and on!

Premium Craft Glue – This fantastic, clear liquid glue is a lot like the 450 Quick Dry, but it isn’t as thick and takes a bit longer to dry. For ribbons and Trims, I prefer the 450, but for other applications, this is a more cost effective solution. Not recommended for acryllic

Liquid Scrap Dots – I can’t say enough about this amazing product!!! Have you ever had a fussy cut piece that you wanted to give dimension, but couldn’t because it was so intricate you wouldn’t be able to raise it with foam dots/tabs? Liquid Scrap Dots to the rescue! This stuff is amazing! It comes in a tube and you just apply as much as you need, where ever you need it and voila! Incredible levels of dimension! Want even more dimension? Apply a dab, let it dry and add another layer!!! You control the depth…get as much or as little lift as you want! Simply brilliant!

Acid Free Glue – White glue that dries clear. This is the one you want when you’re looking for a flexible hold that does not yellow. You can use it for book binding or even for decoupage!

V2 Vellum Adhesive – An incredible spray adhesive that is perfect for so much more than just vellum! Works great with acryllic, chipboard, cardboard and GLITTER too! On vellum, it simply vanishes…just imagine an adhesive where your vellum doesn’t ripple and you don’t need to try to hide where you’ve applied it, because it doesn’t show through! Works like a dream! Just think of the magic you could create with an adhesive like this…you could even use it to apply vellum to acryllic with no need to hide either side!!! What other adhesive gives you this kind of versatility?

Helmar also makes an adhesive runner, gemstone glue, fabric glue, 2 step crackle medium and Zap Dots (these are like foam dots for dimension and are available in clear, white and black and in various sizes). Be sure to check some of these products out today! If your LSS does not carry them, there are many fabulous online retailers now carry a wide variety of their products. Twopeasinabucket.com now carries Helmar as well as Scrap-tastic.com They also have a link on their site for other retailers. You can even find Helmar on facebook!

Hey guess what! I’m the Guest Designer on the Critter Sketch Challenge blog this week!  Thank you to owner Melanie and her great team for having me.  Our challenge this week is to create a sentiment card…the challenge is being sponsored by Robyn’s Fetish (I love her stamps!)

This is my card…

I got the idea from the spring issue of Cardmaker magazine.  I really loved the look of the inspiration piece and this challenge was perfect for it.

I stamped the cross first in brown and then the sentiment over top in black.  Then I cut it out using my Spellbinders.  I added a bit of ribbon, and some bling (this is my new thing..using the bling..LOL).  The butterfly came in a swap and it was already embossed but white, so I inked it up to fit with this card and then blinged it.

ummmmmm, I did a lovely long post last night and for some reason it was secheduled, but decided to get lost in cyber space ….. so this post is going to be considerably shorter and brief!

The first January release is a lovely Tree of  Love, which is great for valentines day, but also perfect for lots of other times too.

The artwork has gone off, and hopefully the boards will be back later this week.

We won’t be doing the usual pre-release naming comp, but we will get our thinking caps on to find something for you to do to be added to the draw for one.

Guest DT will be announced shortly, and its somebody that has one stamps from previous releases, and I’m really pleased she has agreed to join us for a couple of months.

Toodles is also going to be giving away a Special Kids Crafting Award any day – so watch this space.

with all the preparations for Christmas, one way and another there hasn’t been much action – or at least there has, but we’ve not got around to posting all the lovely cards and projects being made.

spot on with the guessing, a little Love Tree with a sentiment of “In My Garden Love Grows” for the next release. 

It’s perfect for Valentines day, but will also work for lots of other occasions too.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it and stamp a whole orchard.

We’re going to send it off to the platemakers tomorrow, and it should be in our eagerly waiting paws by mid-week ….. the Rubbah Elf will then be sent out into the cold to work his magic!

Obviously, there won’t be a guess the name comp for this one, but we will have a giveaway of some kind – we’ll put our thinking caps on to see what we can do.

I’m working on a couple of designs, which should be ready next week as well, and I’ll let you into a secret that one of my dear friends is also working on some designs.

In the next few days we’ll be announcing the Guest DT Member for the next couple of months, somebody I am really delighted to have on board, and also some news about another designer.

Toodles too, has a bit of news:  she has decided to award a Kids Special Crafting Award every now and again  …. and we believe that she’s very close to letting you who the recipient(s) are going to be.  Why her “special” award we asked ….. and the answer it would seem is because it really will be special occasion when she awards one …… she ‘s not planning on giving many away (tight fisted little harpie) and they will only go to really wonderful kids who love stamps and crafting as much as she does!  So watch this space (and maybe your email box) for the first award.
