Anyone for karaoke?

So Picnic has taken it upon herself over the last few weeks to become the resident opera singer of the household. It’s quite rare that you ever get to hear a pig ‘sing’ or ‘chirp’ and in fact I’d never heard one do so in the flesh until about five years ago.

It is such an unusual sound – more like a bird than anything else. And the really strange thing about it is that no-one has ever worked out quite what it means!

There’s a good section on ‘chirping’ on Guinea Lynx and the web is full of great little recordings. I’m going to make it my ‘pet project’ (forgive the pun) to get a video of Pikachu doing her stuff over the next few weeks.

The time I hear it most though is at dawn when the birds are singing. Hmm…what on earth is it all about?!
