With the Guitar Hero franchise going strong, not everyone wanted to keep hold of every copy of GH they own, so what better way to relive those classics than with a Greatest Hits featuring the best tracks from the previous Guitar Hero’s?

The game features songs from 1, 2 and 3 predominantly and has some from 80’s and one from Aerosmith, the majority of the best ones were picked by the public through polls on Activision’s websites, so lets hope you all picked wisely!

I played Guitar Hero 3 not long ago, and this song is stuck in my head. I like this remix by Nick Zinner, guitarist for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, better than the original (probably just because of the rocking beat and guitar riffs), but you decide:

I think that with Halloween approaching it is only right to start playing some Halloween friendly music. In fact I’ll try to give you a different one each day from now until Halloween. There is so little actual quality “Halloween music” that isn’t gimmicky or kitschy. I’ve always thought of Marilyn Manson as a good pick for Halloween though.

Marilyn Manson - Eat Me, Drink Me

Labyrinthitis, alas, has nothing to do with David Bowie and the muppets. I feel rather hard done by as a result.

You know that feeling you get when you’ve had far too much Sangria, and you and N- can’t find the jug of coctail you just made because you’re holding it in your hand and the room is spinning too much for you to focus? Well, I feel like that whenever I move my head, which is irritating because none of the fun stuff – like playing through Guitar Hero 3 and discovering that you could probably break into that warehouse full of old cars if you weren’t nearly unconscious on the computer chair – has happened. And the worst part? Worse than feeling sea-sick and being denied the Muppets? I’ve been told to avoid driving.

It’s like losing a limb. My car, my baby, my Charlie Micra… I mean, obviously I don’t want to crash, for the car’s sake if nothing else, but being confined to Soham until the world begins to look a little more like its usual, non-blibbly self is not a prospect I particularly relish. Nothing to do now but play Fable 2 and hope my hero’s debauchery will make me feel better. Either that or work… but you know how these things go.

Oh! While I’m rambling, I highly recommend that everyone go take a look at http://cakesbymisti.co.uk/ This incredible cakestress – it’s a word, who says it isn’t!? – did my wedding cakes and so impressed the chef and owner of the restaurant we’d hired that he came out to tell her how good they were.  She does all kinds of incredible goodies, including lemon merangue cupcakes, black forest cupcakes and the most incredible chocolate Guiness cake you’ll ever get your mits on.

For years we (and others) have been discussing how TV shows get financed in a time-shifted and place-shifted world.  If viewers can use TiVo to skip the ads, where does the money come from?  If I cut my coax and go with iTunes or Roku or Vudu, is there enough money left to fund HBO, ESPN, CNBC, etc?

Will we really be lost without Lost?

One possible solution is increased product placements à la James Bond.  There are literally hundreds of examples to choose from, but a personal favorite of mine is the BMW chase scene in Tomorrow Never Dies:

In the season premier of Heroes, we saw an aggressive move in this direction by NBC.  An entire scene is dedicated to Claire and her friends playing Guitar Hero 3.  Another scene gets weird:  Hiro and Ando are standing in front of cardboard cut-outs of themselves and a giant cardboard smartphone with the Sprint logo emblazoned across the top – an ad within an ad within the TV show.

Lo unico que le falta a este mod son las canciones, que las tubeq ue borrar porque pesaban bastante, lo que si no me di cuenta de dejar aunque sea 3 temas para que puedan probar el juego, pero no se preocupen porque mas abajo lestraigo muchas canciones para que bajen.

Para ir cambiando de un mod a otro, lo unico que deben hacer es ir a settings, opciones de juego y dentro de esta hay una opcion que dice Theme, eligen la que quieran y ponen aplicar, abajo de todo. Hay muchas opciones mas para que el juego se haga mas dificil o simplemente no muestre algo mientras jugamos, eso se lo dejo a ustedes para que vallan probando.

Una vez bajado los temas que nos gusten, vamos a la carpeta de Frest on Fire, Data, y entramos en song, ahi pegamos las carpetas de cada cancion y ya podemos disfrutar del Frets on Fire con los mods.

Como se juega?:

Se juega con los botones de F1 al F5 y siguiendo los siguientes colores:

F1= Verde
F2= Rojo
F3= Amarillo
F4= Azul
F5= Naranja

Pero para acertar una tecla debemos tocar ejemplo F1 mas el enter, si a la misma vez , porque si solo apretamos el F1 no tomara nuestros puntos.

La forma correcta de jugar a este juego es sosteniendo el teclado, justamente como si fuera una guitarra, no estoy loco ^^. Vean la siguiente imagen.

Así es como se juega a esto jejeje, al principio a mi me costo bastante pero en dos dias pude dominar el nivel facil, ahora estoy tratando de dominar el nivel medio.

Creo que ya dije todo y si falta algo, investiguen por su propia cuenta q es lo mejor que pueden hacer para aprender.

I’m sure most people have guitar hero/rockband or have a friend that has it. You may have seen GH or RB at Walmart, Best Buy, etc. So you know you’ve seen these enoromus boxes that are definatly a site to see. They call your name, begging for you to take out it goods.

Well, I’ve fallen into the band simulation game craze. Along with my brother. He first got Guitar Hero 3 which came in a nice medium sized box. It was fun, and the box was never thrown away. Then came Rockband in a much bigger box. That was also never thrown away. Since he was away at college, along with his prized games, the boxes were left behind. Always teasing me, as if something was in there. Sadly it was just the book cover without the book. So, I bought GH3 for my Wii. Same box, not the same graphics mind you. ._. Then, when I had the money, I was led into temptation at Walmart to buy Rockband for $100 bucks. Same box, yet again. These were never thrown away either. Finally, I had gotten the money for GH: World Tour. It’s an amazing feeling going into a store to buy one of these games. People (mostly kids) are staring while you walk out with this big ol’ box.

I just realized today that, we somehow can’t throw away the boxes! At this moment, there are 2 Rockband boxes, 2 Guitar Hero 3 boxes, and 1 GH: World Tour box all in the same closet. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t seem to let myself get rid of them! My brother doesn’t want to throw his away either. I also noticed I can’t throw away my Wii box, or Xbox 360 box. So we’re stuck with all these boxes! They’re kind of like a trophy to me. They cost quite a lot. Aw well, Ima keep em’.

But really…are we the only ones with this problem?

Tegnap Miki barátom vetette fel az ötletet egy Def Jam parti után:
- Guitar Hero?
Azt kell tudni rólunk, hogy nem szeressük a GH-t. Nem trú, bugyuta, populáris, és még sorolhatnám. De ő utálta, és én is. Nem mondtam semmit, csak mondtam jó, ha te mondod, egyszer nem halunk bele.
Jött egy meggyőző intró, azán co-up-ban nyomtunk pár menetet. Én nyomtam a basszust, ő meg a gitárt nyűzte. Persze csak easy-n, és gitár nélkül.
Nem lehetetlen a GH-t gitár nélkül tolni, de egyrészt nincs semmi fílingje, másrészt 4-5 szám után elgémberedik a kezed a szar gombkiosztás miatt.

Szóval nyomtuk. David épp AMV-t vágott, aztán csak húzta a száját, mert megfogadta, hogy ebben a lakásban márpedig nem lesz GH-zás.
Aztán persze ő is közénk ült.
Poénbol megpróbáltuk legnehezebb fokozaton eljátszani a Raining Blood című himnuszt a Slayer-től, de mindenki elvérzett. Ugyanott.
Ezt azért fontos megjegyeznem, mert a PaRappa óta nem játszottam ritmusos játékokkal (ami amúgy nem mellesleg nagybetűs Alapmű), míg Miki azért gyakorolt GH-n, David meg legdurvább fokozaton tolta a DDR-t.
Szóval nem csalódtam magamban, és kölcsön is kértem.

A game maga hangulatos, remek fílingje van, haverokkal tolni pedig egyszerűen kibaszott király.
Tervezünk is egy ilyen műanyag szart (as known as gitárkontrollert) venni.

Hogy még is mi készteti az embert arra, hogy mégis utálja ezt a játékot?

A Guitar Hero hangulat game. Arra való, amire mi használtuk: összeültünk, és toltuk, és jól éreztük magunkat, miközben arról vitáztunk, hogy a Van Halen mennyire érdemel meg egy saját játékot (mert lesz nekik), és egyéb zenés témákról is eldumálgattunk.
Jójóü, de szóval, miért is?

Az AC/DC nem adta nevét a játékhoz, mert “ez nem igazi rock”.

100%-ig egyet értek. Ez nem rock, hanem egy játék. Attól, mert tudsz 5 színes gombot ritmusra nyomogatni, attól még KURVÁRA NEM FOGSZ TUDNI GITÁROZNI!!!!

Ez fordítva persze igaz, de sajna az AMCSIK (ki más?) ezt is elkúrták. Az egész GH-zás egy nagy versengés lett. Ha nem játszod le a Dragonforcetól a Through the Fire and Flames-t, experten 95% fölött, akkor szar vagy. Meg se érdemled az életet.
A flame megy nap mint nap, hogy ki a jobb, YT-n egy-egy GH-s playt több tízmillióan is megnéznek, és már a Guiness World Records-ban is van egy The Worlds Best Guitar Hero Player címke (amit valszeg ki is vesznek, mert naponta négyszer simán megdönti valaki az előzőét).

Elkurvult ez az egész.
Rocksztár számba veszik azokat, akik jól tudnak GH-zni, és ez itt a baj. Ők nem rocksztárok, hanem játékosok. Nem ők írták a dalt, nem ők játsszák fel a számot, csak gombokat nyomogatnak az isten bassza már meg.
És, hogy mi a legelszomorítóbb?
Hogy vannak, akik már (tessék megkpaszkodni) ÚGY IS ÉLNEK, mint a rock sztárok. Na, én ezen behaltam. Emberek haggyák el a munkahelyüket és iskolákat, mert MEGÉLNEK (sőt!) a GH-zásból.
A rajongó tábor egyre nő, és radikalizálódik. Itthon is mennek a GH versenyek, a rajongók (ha 9,5 pont alatt osztályzod a játékot) ölni is képesek (mást is), és sorba jönnek az újabb gitárok, kiegészítők.
Van itt nekünk a GH: World Tour, amiben már dobolni és szintizni is lehet, de akinek ez nem lesz elég, bejelentették, hogy lesz DJ Hero, Workout és Fitness Hero is…

Pénzorientált szart csináltak, és a laikus ember JOGOSAN utálja a sorozatot.

Hogy ajánlom-e a GH-t bárkinek is? Nos, igen. Akinek van egy bolond haveri társasága, atzoknak kötelező parti game, és szigorúan csak azoknak ajánlom, akik NEM tudnak gitározni.
Ha tudsz játszani ezen a csodálatos hangszeren, akkor neked nem kell Guitar Hero, de ezt ők is tudják.

Guitar Hero, the popular musical-video game phenomenon is coming out with its fifth volume. And it might as well be called the “Emo Edition.” Or the Indie Edition… One fits with the other.

While the new version of Guitar Hero (GH5) if you will, has the regular mainstream-rock fare, it’s jam packed with many an indie, and emo, act. Just look at the official list:

Ok, so it’s not overrun with emo artists, but there’s a good deal of them: Brand New, Jimmy Eat World, Sunny Day Real Estate, Thrice, Weezer. That’s enough to take notice. And the Sunny Day Real Estate entry is, above all, really odd… I know my thirst for a reunion is getting the best of me, but it seems very coincidental that they’re included in all the bands… could we see something along the lines of when the Sex Pistols reunited (again) and debuted a re-recording of “Anarchy In The UK” for Guitar Hero 3? Hopefully not. Maybe I’m searching for a connection way to hard, but we’ll find out…

What may be even more interesting than SDRE are some of the other included acts.

Spacehog?! They’ve got to be using “In The Meantime” which I haven’t heard on the radio since middle school.

Screaming Trees?! Gotta love Mark Lanegan and that band, but all I can remember of them from when they were around was “Nearly Lost You” being on the air, and yet that wasn’t their “big” hit.

Elliott Smith?! Aside from the guy’s stuff in Heatmiser, I’m not quite sure what they could put into GH5!

And then there are the newer indie acts. You’ve got your Arctic Monkeys, Band of Horses, The Duke Spirit (really? on a video game?), TV On The Radio (hopefully something other than “Wolf Like Me” – they’ve got plenty of great songs that people aren’t aware of!), and Vampire Weekend (ugh).

Activision’s got quite a game on its hands. Looks like I’ll have to find a friend with a copy come September 1st.

Activison and Harmonix strikes again with the latest installment in the Guitar Hero franchise with Guitar Hero: Smash Hits. Since its conception in 2005, Guitar Hero has birthed 7 games: Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80’s, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: World Tourr, and Guitar Hero: Metallica.

The two most recent games, Guitar Hero: World Tour and Guitar Hero: Metallica, are the first in the series to incorporate the entire band experience, i.e. being able to play the guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. All previous games were guitar exclusive. However, Guitar Hero is the best selling rhythm game on the market today, and their newest installment looks to be the best yet.

It comes as no surprise to anybody that Guitar Hero would eventually make a “greatest hits” type game. With each game in the series having anywhere between 60 and 80 songs, there is plenty of amazing songs to compile into a game of the best. Guitar Hero: Smash Hits compiles what the developers call “the funnest songs” from the Guitar Hero franchise.

The game does not feature songs from all seven games however. The games that are featured are Guitar Hero 1, GGuitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3, and Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80’s. The reason, though not confirmed, for not including tracks from Guitar Hero: World Tour and Guitar Hero: Metallica can be speculated as those games already incorporates all the features; guitar, bass, drums, and vocals; that are being added for the songs of previous versions. As for not incorporating songs from Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, I thus far have no information on a reason for that.

The developers are taking all the upgrades added to Guitar Hero: World Tour, and even some from the Guitar Hero: Metallica and incorporating them into the songs of previous games. They are adding the slider bar effect seen in GH:WT as well as the improved hammer on’s and pull off’s, tapping feature, etc… and from GH:Metallica they added the expert + difficulty level. Guitar Hero: Smash Hits also brings a brand new story line to the game revolving around your character traveling to all the wonders of the world with the god of rock. There are also 8 new venues for you to play in, giving the game a truly unique feel. The create-a-rocker feature is back, allowing you the ability to create and customize your very own rock god as well as the ability to create different things like band logo, guitars, drum sets, tattoos, and more. Plus, all your favorite characters are back to rock out along side you.

With a set list like this there is no way you can be disappointed. The songs are amazing, the game is amazing, and everything you have come to know and love about Guitar Hero is all there. Look for this game when it arrives on June 16th, 2009 for the X-Box 360, Wii, PS3, and PS2.

Activision’s Guitar Hero series has finally made it to a milestone, its actual 5th edition.

Named Guitar Hero 5 (go figure), Activision will feature 85 of the hottest bands of today in their new addition, and will also add some interesting features. Party Play will allow players to jump in and out in the middle of gameplay seamlessly, and Rock Fest will create a competitive experience featuring five new head-to-head modes.

Guitar Hero 5 is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and Ninteno Wii.

Well its that time again! The next set list has been revealed for guitar hero smash hits! The next chunk of songs is  from Guitar Hero 3: Legends Of Rock! Only a short list mind but seeing as GH 1 and 2 had a pretty hefty selection it  is to be expected really. So here it is:

As i say only a short list from GH 3. All that is left to announce now is the Rocks the 80’s song list and then ill [post the full GH smash hits track list next Thursday!

One thing i have come to realise about the song selection for the smash hits is that they seem to be leaving out the heavy Guitar solo songs (save from free bird and through the fire and the flames,) But Jessica, Misirlou and cliffs of Dover haven’t been included. I know this is supposed to be for the whole band but surely if  it was going to be a SMASH HITS title they would need to include all popular tracks.
