O novo filme de Guy Richie, Sherlock Holmes, ganhou o seu segundo trailer, feito para om ercado internacional e com algumas e boas cenas inéditas. O filme  adaptará a inédita HQ de Lionel Wigram, que promete mostrar uma versão diferente do clássico personageml e que terá Robert Downey Jr. no papel principal e Jude Law como o seu fiel companheiro Watson, ganhou um segundo trailer. Sherlock Holmes estréia mundialmente no dia 20 de novembro.

Essas novas roupagens do cinema americano para personagens consagrados raramente me agradam. Há exceções como o King Kong, de Peter Jackson, ou o Oliver Twist, de Roman Polanski, mas de qualquer forma, fico com um pé atrás quando o assundo é revestir um ícone consagrado.

Mesmo assim, tenho curiosidade em assistir. Falando nisso, quem vai ganhar um novo tipo de aventura, diga-se de passagem ‘modernosa’, é o segundo personagem mais filmado de todos os tempos, perdendo apenas para Jesus Cristo. Sir Sherlock Holmes, o famoso detetive criado por Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, sempre acompanhado de seu parceiro, Watson.

Ele volta às telas lapidado pelas mãos de Guy Ritchie, ex-marido da Madonna, diretor dos ótimos Jogos Trapaças e dois Canos Fumegantes e Snatch. As feições do herói ganham as formas e o carisma de Robert Downey Jr, conhedico agora como o Homem de Ferro.

Os primeiros trailers mostram uma produção de arte digna incrível sobre a era vitoriana, mas junto estão as marcas clássicas de autoria do diretor, os tão celebrados excessos na edição, câmera lemta, ângulos e enquadramentos bizzaors, enfim, tudo aquipe que acabu conquistando fãs mundo afora com os trabalhos citados.

O que esperar então a respeito do novo Holmes? É elementar meu caro Watson. Só o tempo nos dirá.

The second Trailer of Sherlock Holmes,  the Guy Richie`s vision of this famous character, played by Robert Downley jr. in the main role. The cast is completed by Jude Law (Watson), Rachel McAdams y Mark Strong.

Sherlock Holmes will investigate crimes on cinemas the next December 2009.

Olha, eu preciso que vocês assistam Rock’n Rolla!
Gente, eu sou bem chatinho com filmes que envolvem um certo nível de ação e violência, até mesmo porquê o ”Domingo Maior” me traumatizou profundamente, com todos aqueles filmes terríves com Steven Segal, Jean Claude Van Dame e Jackie Chan.
Mas depois que eu assisti Pulp Fiction, minha vida mudou…Tanto que passei a ler sinopses de filmes com capas que só remetiam a cenas de tiros e pancadaria, para ver o que eu poderia tirar alguma história ou algo de bom dali.
Mas sabe de uma coisa, descobri que adooooro filmes de violência e de total desprezo,sarcasmo e irônia com a condição humana…
E dia desses, passando pela locadora pra poder escolher filminhos para uma das minhas sessões de total reclusão sozinho em casa enquanto o pessoal daqui de casa viajava para o mato, resolvi apostar minhas fichas em Rock’n Rolla.
Bem, o filme tem a direção de Guy Richie, e quem me lê ou conhece, já deve ter percebido que eu adoro Madonna e por isso somou-se além da intenção de assistir mas também de analisar um pouco do trabalho do inglês. Curiosidade de fã…
Mas tá…o filme é foda (o blog é me e eu posso falar palavrão, né?!)!

Um bando de anti-heróis que assumem suas mediocridades,erros, fraquezas, desonestidades e defeitos, que nos fazem gostar deles e torcer pra que o errado dê certo!
Aliás…Adoro anti-heróis!
E se fossemos um pouco mais verdadeiros com nós mesmos, torceriamos sempre pra eles…Os mocinhos e mocinhas são tão boring! Ããããããã! ó.o
Bem, do trabalho do Richie eu só conhecia mesmo ”Sweet Away”, um filme que ele dirigiu com a Madonna, assim que eles casaram praticamente e que é uma bosta!
Mas analisando pela minha pouca experiência…Guy Richie faz filme pra macho! Do tipo que ouve Matanza, bebe cerveja quente, come churrascão sangrando e tudo mais…
Tanto que os personagens masculinos deles, são totalmente masculinos mesmo! Um pouco sensíveis…mas sem muita frescura, tipo um bando de fodões.
Embora o tema (gangsters) seja um pouco batido, achei bacana a forma com que contruiram a história. Além disso, o elenco conta com Gerard Butler, Tom Wilkinson, Nonso Anozie, Charlotte Armer e Gemma Arterton. Como também a trilha sonora super bacanuda composta por músicas que passeiam pelo indie rock, ska e reggae dos anos 80.
No final, acho que muitos ficam com a vontade de ter uma vida como a dos caras do filme…Eu mesmo gostaria de levar um life style mais rock’roll…mais rock’nrolla.

- Ο Σάκης Ρουβάς δε λέει να ξεκουραστεί. Μετά από μία πολύ απαιτητική χρονιά, με την προετοιμασία για τη Eurovision, την παρουσίαση του X-factor και την προώθηση της πρώτης του ξενόγλωσσης ταινίας “Duress”, θα περίμενε κανείς ότι το καλοκαίρι θα επέλεγε να κάνει διάλειμμα. Αλλά απ’ ότι φαίνεται, δεν έχει τέτοια σχέδια αφού το καλοκαίρι του θα είναι γεμάτο από δραστηριότητες για την προώθηση της ταινίας του, συναυλίες σε όλη την Ελλάδα, ενώ τον Αύγουστο θα ξεκινήσει τα γυρίσματα της δεύτερης (!) ξενόγλωσσης ταινίας του. Εμείς ελπίζουμε να μη πάθει καμιά υπερκόπωση με τόσο βαρύ πρόγραμμα.

- Οι υπεύθυνοι marketing της εταιρίας Motorolla δεν είναι και πολύ ευχαριστημένη με τον David Beckham, τον οποίο έχουν πληρώσει εκατομμύρια λίρες για να είναι το πρόσωπο της διαφημιστικής τους καμπάνιας. Πρόσφατα ο David εθεάθη να χρησιμοποιεί το κινητό του στο Μιλάνο, το οποίο δεν είναι μάρκας Motorolla αλλά είναι το iphone της Apple. Δε νομίζω να του στοιχίσει και πολύ του David, αφού το εισόδημα του από τις καμπάνιες του Giorgio Armani, Adidas και Gillette υπερ-προσπερνάει αυτό της Motorolla.

- Ντοκιμαντέρ με θέμα τη ζωή της Amy Winehouse ετοιμάζεται από βρετανούς παραγωγούς, τα γυρίσματα του οποίου έχουν ξεκινήσει απ’το περασμένο Νοέμβρη. Το ντοκιμαντέρ δείχνει τη καθημερινότητα της ταραγμένης σταρ, τη μάχη της με τις καταχρήσεις αλλά και την ανάμειξη των γονιών της (που είναι χωρισμένοι) για το καλύτερο της κόρης τους. Το ντοκιμαντέρ αναμένεται να προβληθεί μέσα στο 2009 και θα έχει τίτλο “Saving Amy”.

- Τα προβλήματα υγείας που αντιμετωπίζει ο Michael Jackson δεν είναι τόσο ελαφριάς μορφής όσο θέλουν να περάσουν προς τα έξω οι διοργανωτές των συναυλιών του. Σύμφωνα με δημοσιεύματα, ο βασιλιάς της pop μπαινοβγαίνει στο νοσοκομείο για επεμβάσεις στο δέρμα του, αφαιρώντας κάποια κομμάτια από τη μύτη και το χέρι του. Ένα σημάδι στο μάγουλο προκαλεί ανησυχίες, μιας και αντί της αφαίρεσης του, θα μπορούσε να θεραπευτεί με ακτινοθεραπεία, γεγονός που θα προκαλούσε την εκ νέου αναβολή των συναυλιών του. Πάνω απ’ όλα η υγεία, Michael.

- Τελικά επιβεβαιώθηκαν οι φήμες που ήθελαν την Kylie Minogue να παντρεύεται. Όπως αναφέραμε στις 21.05, η γνωστή τραγουδίστρια δηλώνει φουλ ερωτευμένη με το 32χρονο Ισπανό μοντέλο Andres Velencoso. Λέγεται πως κατά τη διάρκεια της ολιγοήμερης επίσκεψης του ζευγαριού στη Ρώμη, ο Andres έκανε πρόταση γάμου στην Kylie –χωρίς δαχτυλίδι- λέγοντας της πως θα ήθελε να ξυπνάει κάθε μέρα στο πλευρό της. Η πρόταση έγινε σε στενό κύκλο, μακριά από τα φώτα της δημοσιότητας.

- Ο σύντροφος της Βίκυ Καγιά, Νίκος Κριθαριώτης, μαζί με την αδερφή του Σήλια είναι ανάμεσα στις τρεις υποψηφιότητες που θα αναλάβουν τις νέες ενδυμασίες των στελεχών της Ολυμπιακής Αεροπορίας. Οι άλλες δύο υποψηφιότητες είναι η ομάδα της Akto και η Π2. Ο κόσμος μπορεί να ψηφίσει για την προτιμότερη στολή στο site του διαγωνισμού www.oafashion.gr. Εμείς τείνουμε προς τις δημιουργίες του Νίκου, μιας και το χρώμα πράσινο είναι πολύ επίκαιρο στις μέρες μας.

- Ελαιογραφία- καρικατούρα που δείχνει τη Madonna και τον Guy Richie μόλις έχει βγει προς πώληση από τον δημιουργό της στη Σκοτία. Η εταιρία που έχει αναλάβει την πώληση βρίσκεται στη Γλασκόβη, και η αρχική τιμή ξεκινάει από τις 20.000 λίρες. Υπεύθυνος της εταιρίας συμπλήρωσε πως ο χωρισμός του ζευγαριού έχει αυξήσει το ενδιαφέρον στις πωλήσεις. Ο Guy Richie πάντως ήδη έχει εκφράσει την ένσταση του, ενώ η Madonna μέχρι στιγμής είναι αδιάφορη.

- Ρεκόρ τηλεθέασης έσπασε η εκπομπή της Τατιάνας Στεφανίδου «Αξίζει να το δεις» με καλεσμένο τον Ηλία Ψινάκη. Ανάμεσα στα καυτά θέματα που συζήτησε ήταν και η λήξη της συνεργασίας του με τον Σάκη Ρουβά, μετά από 16 χρόνια κοινής πορείας. Ο λόγος ήταν η εξέλιξη και των δύο, από τη μια ο Σάκης ήθελε να κάνει μαθήματα υποκριτικής στην Αμερική και να ξεκινήσει και τη καριέρα του ως ηθοποιός και από την άλλη ο Ψινάκης ήδη δημιουργούσε ένα δημόσιο πρόσωπο με συμμετοχές σε παιχνίδια κ.α.

- Πάντως η όλη αντιμετώπιση του απόλυτου σταρ Σάκη και της ‘ήττας’ του στη Eurovision, έχει τρομάξει το Ελληνικό star system. Η Πέγκυ Ζήνα- που είχε εκφράσει ενδιαφέρον να συμμετάσχει στη Eurovision τη χρονιά που μας εκπροσώπησε ο Μιχάλης Ρακιτζής- πρόσφατα δήλωσε πως με τίποτα δε θα πήγαινε. Το ίδιο και η Έλενα Παπαρίζου, που έχει φέρει τη πρωτιά, δεν αποκλείει όμως το να γράψει τους στίχους ή ακόμα και τη μουσική του τραγουδιού που θα μας εκπροσωπήσει.

- Η οποία Έλενα Παπαρίζου, αυτό τον καιρό διανύει μια από τις καλύτερες περιόδους της ζωής της. Το πρόγραμμα της στο Thalassa People Stage στην παραλιακή της Αθήνας πάει πολύ καλά, πρωταγωνιστεί σε δύο από τις μεγαλύτερες διαφημιστικές καμπάνιες (Organics & ηβη) και η σχέση της με τον Τόνυ Μαυρίδη συνεχίζεται δυναμικά- κόντρα στις κακές γλώσσες. Τα βράδια που δεν εμφανίζεται στο Thalassa συνεχίζει να βγαίνει κυρίως σε club μαζί με τον συνεργάτη της και στενό της φίλο, Γιάννη Μαρκετάκη.

- Η Βρετανίδα ηθοποιός Lucy Gordon που έγινε γνωστή από το ρόλο της δημοσιογράφου στη ταινία Spiderman-3 βρέθηκε νεκρή στο διαμέρισμα της στο Παρίσι, 2 μέρες πριν τα 29α γενέθλια της. Οι αρχές μιλούν για ξεκάθαρη αυτοκτονία, και οι δικοί της άνθρωποι αποδίδουν το γεγονός στην πρόσφατη αυτοκτονία στενού της φίλου στην Αγγλία. Τα συλλυπητήρια μας στην οικογένεια της.

- Αναποφάσιστος δείχνει να είναι ο Sean Penn για τη πορεία του γάμου του με τη Robin Wright. Ο γνωστός ηθοποιός -και πρώην σύζυγος της Madonna- είχε κάνει αίτηση για διαζύγιο το Νοέμβριο του 2007, ανακαλώντας τη λίγους μήνες μετά. Πριν μερικές εβδομάδες, έκανε αίτηση για δεύτερη φορά- την περίοδο που φούντωναν οι φήμες για την σχέση του με την Natalie Portman- αλλά μόλις την ανακάλεσε διαψεύδοντας και τις φήμες περί εξωσυζυγικών σχέσεων. Μαζί δεν κάνουν και χώρια δεν μπορούν;

- Ο Κωνσταντίνος Καζάκος αποφάσισε να ανέβει τα σκαλιά της εκκλησίας αμέσως μετά το καλοκαίρι. Ο χαμηλών τόνων ηθοποιός θα παντρευτεί την αγαπημένη του, Ιωάννα Μαρτζούκου στο εκκλησάκι του Αγίου Διονυσίου στη Βάρκιζα. Το πρόγραμμα της ‘δεξίωσης’ θα αναλάβει ο ίδιος ο Κωνσταντίνος μαζί με την μπάντα του Bluezeerz σε ένα πρωτότυπο πρόγραμμα… ροκ μουσικής.

- Η Σίσσυ Χρηστίδου φαίνεται να είναι η επικρατέστερη υποψήφια παρουσιάστρια για το καινούργιο ριάλιτι του Alpha που ήδη έχει προκαλέσει αρκετό ντόρο, Αγρότης μόνος ψάχνεται. Πληροφορίες λένε ότι το συμβόλαιό της με τον Alpha ακόμα δεν έχει ανανεωθεί και πως οι υπεύθυνοι προσπαθούν να επισπεύσουν τις διαδικασίες. Ο λόγος είναι ότι οι αγρότες που θα επιλεγούν πρέπει να παρουσιαστούν από τον Ιούνιο (για να προσελκύσουν γυναίκες).

- Το πρόγραμμα της Έλλης Κοκκίνου στο Romeo ζητήθηκε ν’ αλλάξει εμμέσως πλην σαφώς, μετά από παρέμβαση γνωστών θαμώνων της νύχτας. Η εν λόγω παρέα παρευρέθη στο μαγαζί που εμφανίζεται η Έλλη λίγες μέρες μετά την έναρξη, καταλαμβάνοντας μάλιστα ένα από τα καλύτερα τραπέζια του μαγαζιού. Στη μέση του προγράμματος η παρέα αποφάσισε να φύγει από το μαγαζί και λόγω της στενής σχέσης με τον επιχειρηματία του μαγαζιού, παραπονέθηκαν για την έλλειψη…μπουζουκιού στο πρόγραμμα.

While not too long ago I wrote a page about the overwhelming dearth of sequels, prequels, reboots and remakes that are currently cropping up and strangling the grape vine of creativity in Hollywood, there recently has been a mini-revolution forming just under the surface of Hollywood’s cold, icy exterior of titles that have actually inspired hope in the face of a crippling wave of lifeless franchise flicks.

First off, Derrick Comedy’s Mystery Team.  Described as a mixture of Scooby-Doo and Super Troopers, the ingenious sketch groups first foray into the feature length market premiered at Sundance to rave reviews, yet, failed to inspire enough faith in its marketability to secure a distributor; until now.  Just recently, Lionsgate’s Roadside Attractions monicker picked up the film for distribution, giving the film a second chance at life.

I Love You, Philip Morris was stuck in much the same state.  The comedy which sees Jim Carrey play a homosexual in prison who falls in love with his cell mate and attempts to break out of jail once his cell mate is released.  Being a HUGE Jim Carrey fan, the premise sounds wonderfully original yet distributors had cold feet about the project’s homosexual undertones.  Finally, Consolidated Pictures Group picked up the piece and will be releasing it shortly.

Another title that has been mired by release issues but just recently broke through to see the light of day is The Road.  Set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia where cannibalism abounds, The Road follows a boy and his father on their quest to find food while avoiding peril at every junction.  While the Cormac McCarthy novel-inspired film never had a problem securing distribution in the way of the Weinsteins, the film has been sitting in limbo for quite a while as it was supposed to be released to be a contender last Oscar season due to “Visual effects issues.”  Many speculated that this ambiguous heading spelled doubt and a lack in confidense from the Weinsteins themselves, however, sure enough, The Road has been re-slated for an October 2009 release, just in time to play a role in the upcoming Oscar season. 

Out of troubled film news and into films yet to be completed, Christopher Nolan’s Bat-sandwiched Inception looks to be another classic work by the director who can seemingly do no wrong.  Little is known about Nolan’s next work other than it is described as “a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind,” and it stars Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Cillian Murphy.  The director alone would bring me to my seat, not to mention the bevy of acting heavy hitters.

And of course, behind Inception, Nolan is expected to follow up with a third Batman that I will see even if he does cast Cher as Catwoman (at one time an ACTUAL rumor).  Rounding out the other superhero themed could-be-goods are Iron Man 2, Thor (Kenneth Branagh is attached to direct), and Spider-Man 4 as Sam Raimi has gone on record to say that he wants to patch up the errors he made in Spidey 3 and produce “the best [“Spider-Man” movie] of the bunch.”

And since it seems that you can never have too much Robert Downey Jr. anymore, I am also immensely excited for the Guy Richie-helmed Sherlock Holmes slated for release in December of ‘09. 

Judd Apatow’s Funny People looks to be an immense winner as it will tie the Apatow family and the Happy Madison behemoth together to (hopefully) produce one superstar of a comedic drama.  As much of a Adam Sandler fan as I am, his comedic work as of recent has seemed lackluster at best (while his dramatic work has soared to levels that NO ONE thought him capable of) and gone seem to be the days of his comedic classics such as Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison and The Waterboy.  Perhaps pairing with a certified juggernaut in the form of Apatow’s production team will be enough to kickstart the funnyman’s comedy muscle again and get him back to helming the quality comedy that I know he is capable of. 

And finally, in classic comedic muscle news, there’s Ghostbusters 3.  Now, normally I am COMPLETELY against junctures like this one where a classic, beloved franchise is unearthed an inappropriately amount of time after the series has CLEARLY run its course (see: Indiana Jones).  However, I cannot help but become giddy over the prospect of this film.  And here’s why.  ALL the original cast members (sans Rick Moranis) are back to reprise their role.  And while Reitman seems to be too busy to pick up at the director’s chair, Ramis has been rumored to be willing to step up to the plate and assume the role!  Of course, I will be the very first to come out and say how easily this jaunt into nostalgia could turn out awful (it’s been over twenty years, people) but at the same time, for reasons I can only partially explain, I really want to see this title succeed.  Which is proof that I don’t instantly start to froth at the mouth once I hear the word ’sequel.’  Only when I hear the words, ‘George Lucas.’

It’s already May but there are still a lot of big movies to look out for the rest of the year, in no particular order I give you ten of the best!

Inglourious Bastards
Director: Quentin Tarantino (Kill Bill)
Starring: Brad Pitt (Burn After Reading), Mike Myers (The Love Guru), Samuel L. Jackson (Snakes On A Plane), Eli Roth (Hostel)

Tarantino directs this story which follows Pitt lead a team of Jewish-Americans into Germany during the Second World War to ‘scalp Nazis’. With Tarantino there is always bound to be a bloodbath to come and throwing war into the equation means this could actually be gloriously gorier than the two ‘Kill Bill’films put together.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Director: Terry Gilliam (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas)
Starring: Christopher Plummer (Sound of Music), Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight), Jude Law (Alfie), Andrew Garfield (Boy A), Colin Farrell (The Recruit), Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Heath Ledger’s last screen appearance as he died before filming was over and was replaced by Law, Depp and Farrell. A mysterious prophet/magician in debt to the Devil leads a theater troupe into a strange world. They embark on a travelling show where members of the audience get an opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Sounds very strange.

The Invention of Lying
Director: Ricky Gervais
Starring: Jennifer Garner (Juno), Ricky Gervais (Ghost Town), Rob Lowe (The West Wing), Jonah Hill (Superbad), Christopher Guest (Spinal Tap)

Mr ‘Everything I Touch Turn to Gold’ directs his first Hollywood film. This is defiantely going to be a sure fire hit if ‘Ghost Town’ was anything to go by. Set in an alternate earth Gervais’ character is the first to tell a lie and finds out what he can do using this gift for personal gain. Great comedy cast also including Louis C.K. and Patrick ‘make it so’ Stewart with possibly cameos from Karl ‘head like a fuckin’ orange’ Pilkington and Steve Merchant.

Sherlock Holmes
Director: Guy Richie
Starring: Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Jude Law (Closer), Rachel McAdams (Wedding Crashers)

Downey Jr.’s English accent with be put to the sword after his success in 1992 with ‘Chaplin’ as he dons a deerstalker as Richie directs the film adaptation of the Victorian English detective Sherlock Holmes. Set in 1891, Holmes and Watson join forces to stop a conspiracy to destroy Britain. Richie is only known for his gangster hard men films so this could be quite a stretch from the original.

The Informant
Director: Stephen Soderbergh (Che)
Starring: Matt Damon (The Bourne Ultimatum), Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap), Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men)

Matt Damon stars in this true story of the bi-polar Mark Whitacre, a 90’s F.B.I. informant leading a double life as whistleblower and embezzler. Whitacre was involved over 3 years documenting the case against many high-level executives who where involved fixing the prices of food additives. This looks set to be a dark comedy/thriller not to miss from “Matt Damon”.

Terminator: Salvation
Director: McG (Charlies Angels)
Starring: Christian Bale (The Dark Knight), Sam Worthington (Rogue), Helana Bonham-Carter (Sweeney Todd), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek)

John Connor returns to prevent the evil Skynet conglomerate from ending humanity with its horde or killing robots. Set in the future 2018 to be exact there’s sure to be rebel alliance action from start to finish. No sign of Arnie though after the abysmal ‘T3′. Its going to be an action-fest, whether its another tired moneymaker for the Terminator franchise though is yet to be seen.

Public Enemies
Director: Michael Mann (The Kingdom)
Starring: Johnny Depp (Finding Neverland), Christian Bale (3:10 to Yuma), Marion Cotillard (A Good Year)

This is crime drama about Notorious 1930’s American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd take of the Melvin Pervis of the F.B.I. in the midst of the Great Depression. Look set the be an epic crime thriller, with Depp branding a tommy gun at the height of the bank robbers career in what hopefully will be like a sort of ‘The Untouchables’ 2 and not ‘Catch Me If You Can’ 2.

Nine
Director: Rob Marshall (Memoirs of a Geisha)
Starring: Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood), Judi Dench (Quantom of Solace), Nicole Kidman (Austrailia)

An immense cast of Oscar-winners and nominees star in this tale of director Guido Contini having a mid-life crisis trying to come to terms with it stifling his creativity, relationships and finish his latest masterpiece. English actor Daniel Day Lewis takes the lead role straight of the back of the success of oil drama ‘There Will Be Blood’.

Jennifer’s Body
Director: Karyn Kusama
Starring: Megan Fox (Transformers), Adam Brody (Thank You for Smoking), Amanda Seyfield (Mamma Mia!), J.K. Simmons (Spiderman 3)

Written by ‘Juno’ writer Diablo Cody, this is a twisted homage to teen horror films as possessed teen Fox kills her way through her classmates while her best friends tries to stop her and a Satanic cult worshipping rock band lead by ‘The O.C.’s’ Seth Cohen. Also Fox strips off so whatever the plot its worth seeing.

Shutter Island/Ashecliffe
Director: Martin Scorsese (The Departed)
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio (Body of Lies), Ben Kingsley (Lucky Number Slevin), Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac)

Set in the 1950s, ‘Shutter Island/Ashecliffe’ stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a U.S. Marshal sent to hunt down an escapee from a mental institution located on a remote island off the coast of Massachusetts. Scorsese’s next big film after success of ‘The Departed’ and Scorsese only does Oscar-nominated work!

I have decided to compiled a list of the top 5 celebrity divorces of 2008.  Those crazy celebs always seem to provide us with enough drama to last a lifetime, especially when it comes to their relationships.  Staying together is hard enough in any situation let alone in Hollywood where you are criticized, judged, watched, and tempted by anything and anyone around you.

The star studded life of these tinsel towners may seem glamorous, but their disastrous relationships seem to prove otherwise.  The list I have compiled contains both newly married couples as well as those who have been together for centuries.  No matter what the reason for the split…they all ended in divorce.  Maybe we can learn something from these A-Lister’s and chose wisely next time we think about the “M” word.

Here they are…

1.) Eddie Murphy & Tracy Edmund:

This lovely marriage only lasted for a measly two weeks.  Pretty pathetic, if you ask me!  They must have had a really bad honeymoon (aka bad sex).

2.) Madonna & Guy Richie:

Rumors circulated around this high-powered couple for over a year, expressing a possible breakup.  Madge was even accused of having an affair with Baseballer stud, Alex Rodriguez.  Weather the rumors were true or not, the couple did decide to end their marriage after being together for 7.5 years.

3.) Morgan Freedman & Myrna Colley-Lee:

It definitely seemed like this couple was going to make it all the way…but, they feel short.  Things between the two seemed to get pretty rocky following a serious car crash that Freedman was involved in.  After dating for 8 years and being married for another 24, the couple decided to call it quits.

4.) Robin William & Marsha Garces:

This couple met in an interesting fashion.  Garces, who started out as the nanny for William’s son, became his wife for 20 years.  They had two children together and decided to go their own separate ways after filing for irreconcilable differences.  Maybe William’s has a new nanny that he has fallen for?

5.) Pink & Carey Hart:

This punk rocker and her hubby of two years decided to call it quits after coming to terms that they were just “better off as friends.”  Sometimes the chemistry just dies, and without that passion for each other, a relationship can get really shallow and boring!

I may have bypassed something in the history books, or maybe not the history books, maybe just really old fiction books, or the episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation when the holodeck got all malfunction-y, but Senor Holmes is meant to be the good guy, right? I mean, I know he was supposedly off his face on opium and may or may not have been bumming Watson, but he was still the hero? Or have I missed something?

I mean, I’m pretty sure Sherlock Holmes wasn’t, in fact, Jack The Ripper. Unless Guy Richie’s version has added a new twist to it? Out goes the gay drug orgies, in comes a Tyler Durden-esque homicidal alter-ego. I like it. But someone should tell him that the cinemas are closed on Christmas Day.
