Hundreds of chickens died suddenly assistance in Aceh Utara

LHOKSEUMAWE – Just four days distributed, about 90 percent of the 400 chickens government assistance through the Department of Animal Husbandry Aceh, North Aceh village of Simpang Empat, Simpang Keuramat district, North Aceh, reportedly died suddenly. After review, the chicken was found positive of bird flu.

Keuchik Simpang Empat, Abdul Hamid, this afternoon, explaining, on Thursday (19/11) night it received 400 chickens assistance from the province of Aceh. Then the chickens are placed temporarily in a large barn owned by residents. But the next morning, about 85 chickens had died.

Even more depressing, she says, from hour to hour, the chicken died suddenly this assistance in a cage. In fact, chicken was distributed to residents, too, died. And 400 chickens from the help of only about 30 tails.

What better way to medicate against a holiday’s genocidal origins and the hunger now swelling worldwide in the wake of a banker-brought recession than with a bellyful of turkey, stuffing, yams, and pumpkin pie? Despite its dark ambiguities, Thanksgiving remains my favorite American holiday. Take a breath, eat well, love your family, make time for friends, and, a few drinks later, curse God, badmouth your boss, and regroup for the descent into winter. Here in Minneapolis, dusk is approaching its solstice nadir. Five in the afternoon and pitch black.

Thanksgiving obviously reminds us too of the pathogens the livestock breeding that produces the birds most of us will be chowing on also offers. If the bone breaks your way, you might with sardonic irony wish for a way out of this and subsequent pandemics. It isn’t, of course, merely a matter of a little luck (although that would help). There are due causes for the bad things that happen, often specifically related to the decisions people in power and in the money make. I believe we can think through these fixes and with enough courage to act in the face of threats to life and fortune change the world’s course.

For now I’ll offer here what I’d like to think is something of a start. I recently published a paper in Antipode on influenza and the political virology of farming (see the abstract below). It lays out in more detail than provided so far on this blog the likely reasons for the emergence of the new ensemble of virulent influenzas. The paper also offers an albeit provisional plan to keep us from whacking ourselves with a much deadlier influenza than the presently circulating swine flu H1N1 (2009).

Breeding Influenza: The Political Virology of Offshore Farming

Abstract. The geographic extent, xenospecificity, and clinical course of influenza A (H5N1), the bird flu strain, suggest the virus is an excellent candidate for a pandemic infection. Much attention has been paid to the virus’s virology, pathogenesis and spread. In contrast, little effort has been aimed at identifying influenza’s social origins. In this article, I review H5N1’s phylogeographic properties, including mechanisms for its evolving virulence. The novel contribution here is the attempt to integrate these with the political economies of agribusiness and global finance. Particular effort is made to explain why H5N1 emerged in southern China in 1997. It appears the region’s reservoir of near-human-specific recombinants was subjected to a phase change in opportunity structure brought about by China’s newly liberalized economy. Influenza, 200 nm long, seems able to integrate selection pressures imposed by human production across continental distances, an integration any analysis of the virus should assimilate in turn.

The global health community has been in a state of alarm due to recent outbreaks of the avian influenza disease in many parts of the world, particularly in Asia. The disease has infected humans, prompting many to believe that a global pandemic will soon occur.

In the past decades, avian influenza has affected only birds and in some cases, pigs. Avian influenza does not normally affect humans but the first human case of avian influenza has been recently documented. Diseases previously known to only affect animals have crossed over to humans – avian influenza being one of these diseases. As a consequence, this crossing over has started many of the health pandemics that the world has suffered from for centuries.

Avian flu virus: constantly mutating

Avian influenza typically affects birds, specifically migratory birds, ducks and chickens.
Avian influenza is an infectious viral disease that is similar to human flu. Several subtypes of Type A flu viruses cause avian influenza. Avian influenza differs from human flu in terms of the proteins that reside on the surface areas of the avian influenza virus subtypes.

It is known that there are 16 different HA (hemagglutinin) subtypes and nine NA (neuraminidase) subtypes of the avian influenza virus. These subtypes can combine with each other, producing different subtypes of the disease. Because of these constant combinations of subtypes, producing vaccines becomes even more difficult. One can never know what subtype will emerge next, let alone what its impact will be.

In addition, viruses are known to be constantly evolving. Viruses are constantly “changing their spots.” Thus, scientists have to also evolve the medicines and vaccines that are being produced in order to keep up with the viruses’ constant evolution.

H5N1: deadly avian flue subtype

So far, only a few subtypes of the avian influenza virus have managed to cross over from the bird species to human species. These subtypes are H9N2, H7N7, H7N3 and H5N1. Of these subtypes, H5N1 has created the biggest alarm within the international health community. Among the subtypes that have been reported to affect humans, the H5N1 subtype appears to be the worst. The H5N1 subtype has caused more than 50 deaths to date.

Bird flu symptoms in humans are dependent on the subtype that caused the infection. Some of the bird flu symptoms in humans are typical flu like symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat and muscle aches. Bird flu symptoms in humans also include eye infections, pneumonia, and severe respiratory diseases such as acute respiratory distress and other life-threatening complications.

Avian flu: human to human transmission may be possible

The avian influenza virus and its subtypes have the tendency to easily mutate. This may be one reason that the avian flu has managed to cross over from birds to human beings. This mutation may also be the reason that human to human transmission of the disease is a distinct possibility.

The World Health Organization has said that there are three ways for the virus to cross over and become a “human flu”, which means that the disease will not only be contracted from birds but also from humans. Humans may contract the virus and mutation occurs while the virus is within the body. The bird flu virus may also combine with ordinary human flu, thereby assimilating the characteristics of the disease, including its ability to infect humans. Mutation through combination with human flu can occur in the body of humans who contract the disease while being sick with human influenza or by being in contact (consumption, for example) with pigs, which serve as carrier of both kinds of flu.

When I heard the CDC hedge their language over the entire Summer about the future use of adjuvants in vaccines used in the USA, I knew it was only a matter of time before they would move forward. Here’s the press release from Novartis about the facility they set up jointly with HHS:

Basel, November 24, 2009 – Today, Novartis officially inaugurated the US’s first ever large-scale flu cell culture vaccine and adjuvant manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The facility is a result of a partnership between Novartis and the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“We are proud to be one of the first companies to bring influenza cell culture as well as adjuvant technology to the United States,” said Daniel Vasella, CEO and Chairman of Novartis. “We have seen a great need to invest into new technologies for flu vaccines that will allow for quicker and more reliable production capacity. We are pleased to be working closely with the US government to build a world-class, state of the art manufacturing facility in the US that will change the way we manufacture influenza vaccines in the future.”

The total investment in the facility is nearly USD 1 billion, through a partnership between Novartis and HHS to support the design, construction, validation and licensing of the manufacturing facility in Holly Springs.

The operations at this facility will use modern, cell culture-based manufacturing technology. Cell culture-based production operations are cleaner, can be scaled up more quickly to respond to a pandemic and do not rely on eggs for rapid response to a pandemic. Cell culture technology for influenza vaccines is not yet approved in the US, however part of the HHS contract support for Holly Springs includes funding for the development of a flu cell culture vaccine. If licensed in an emergency, the facility will be ready to respond to a pandemic as early as 2011. The plant is planned to be running at full scale commercial production in 2013.

Novartis already operates a cell culture-based manufacturing plant in Marburg, Germany. It is licensed to produce a seasonal cell culture-based influenza vaccine, Optaflu®, which is approved in all 27 member states of the European Union as well as in Iceland and Norway. It currently produces Celtura®, a H1N1 pandemic vaccine licensed in Germany and Switzerland.

The Novartis Holly Springs facility can also start producing MF59®, the Novartis proprietary adjuvant, as early as December 2009. Although not yet approved in the US, studies with adjuvants are currently underway in the US. Results of the most recent clinical trials conducted with the Novartis MF59 adjuvanted cell culture-based vaccine have shown that it is possible to induce protective antibody levels against A(H1N1) infection within two weeks of administration of a single low-dose adjuvanted vaccine. MF59 has also been shown to provide cross-protection across similar strains of a H5N1 virus, which is an additional important element for a pre-pandemic vaccine given that mutations are a common feature of emerging influenza strains.

As part of its partnership with HHS, Novartis is responsible for, among other things, pre-construction document development, land use and zoning, construction, commissioning, validation and licensing of the facilities with the goals of regulatory licensure, manufacture and release of seasonal and pre-pandemic vaccine, as well as provision for pandemic vaccine supply in the event of a pandemic or other vaccines or biologicals in the event of an emergency for an emerging infectious disease. The partnership also requires Novartis to provide two commercial-scale annual lots of pre-pandemic vaccine for a minimum of three years. In addition, HHS has the right to exercise options to purchase additional influenza vaccine over 17 years.

Novartis proprietary MF59 adjuvant has an established safety profile, supported by more than 12 years of clinical safety data and more than 45 million doses of commercial use in Europe. The adjuvant has been studied in clinical trials involving more than 33,000 people, including children, and has been licensed for use in people 65 years of age and over in the seasonal influenza vaccine Fluad® since 1997 in the European Union. Novartis also produces two A(H1N1) vaccines, Focetria® and Celtura, which contain MF59 and are available outside the US. Currently, there are no approved vaccines in the United States that contain MF59.

It is Novartis’ proprietary adjuvant that is added to influenza vaccines to help stimulate the human body’s immune response through production of CD4 memory cells. MF59 is the first oil-in-water influenza vaccine adjuvant not to be commercialized in combination with a seasonal influenza virus vaccine.

114 Michigan schools have closed so far this school year [within less than a week], amid concerns that Swine Flu is spreading.

School officials across the state are seeing rising student absentee rates.

Martin Ackley is the spokesman for the State Department of Education. He says schools are reacting quickly to reports of H1N1.

Southwest Michigan by itself had more than half of all schools closed nationwide that week due to H1N1 aka swine flu. Despite that, there was barely a mention of Michigan being the “epicenter” (the word used by the CDC in local coverage) in the mainstream media. However, while Michigan schools were closed down and restaurants went empty that week, the MSM only reported school closings in distant countries like Iraq. The clinic is by invitation only, and first up was health care workers from around Kalamazoo County.

Detroit is a major population center and has easy highway access (via interstate 94) to Kalamazoo, but Detroit schools stayed open. BTW, why would a major outbreak happen in a little rural area instead of one of the major population (incubation) centers nearby like Detroit, Chicago, or Indianapolis? Why did the outbreak never cross the state line south of Kalamazoo and enter rural northern Indiana?

In any case the article itself is a bit confusing: the first responders were getting shots, but later it said they’re supposed to get the mist. I guess it’s just a coincidence that the kids of Detroit where their first responders got shots didn’t get sick while the kids around Kalamazoo where their first responders got mist did get sick a week later.

Unpublished Canadian data are raising concerns about whether it’s a good idea to get a seasonal flu shot this season.

Drawn from a series of studies from British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario, the data appear to suggest that people who got a seasonal flu shot last year are about twice as likely to catch swine flu as people who didn’t.

A scientific paper has been submitted to a journal and the lead authors – Dr. Danuta Skowronski of the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and Dr. Gaston De Serres of Laval University – won’t speak to the media. Journals bar would-be authors from discussing their results publicly before they go through peer review.

That got my attention like a 2×4 to the face considering I received my first seasonal flu shot in 3 years in Fall 2008 and became sick with a very high fever for the first time in at least 5 years in June 2009. I would later find out this fever was during a time our state health officials stated that the only active virus roaming the region was H1N1. I guess it’s just another coincidence…

A number of influenza and infectious diseases experts know of but are unwilling to speak publicly about the paper. But several were quick to note that British and Australian researchers haven’t seen the phenomenon either. The lack of corroboration in other jurisdictions is “a red flag,” said one expert, who does not believe the findings are true.

Another flu expert who was willing to speak on the record said they do not make sense to him either.

“I cannot think of a good reason why this is biologically likely, especially since we have sufficient evidence now that … there is priming in the population by the way the vaccine is working,” said Dr. Arnold Monto, of the University of Michigan.

He was referring to the fact that studies of swine flu vaccine show a single dose induces a strong and likely protective response in teens and adults. That suggests humankind’s long exposure to seasonal H1N1 viruses has “primed” or awakened our immune systems to recognize the new virus and fight it off.

Dr. Donald Low, chief microbiologist at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital, was reserving judgment on the findings. But he said this kind of effect of previous exposure raising the risk of future illness is seen in some diseases, like dengue fever.

“We don’t see that in flu,” Monto countered.

Just when you thought the issue of seasonal and pandemic flu shots couldn’t get any more confusing, European researchers are questioning whether it makes sense to vaccinate little kids against seasonal flu.

The scientists, from the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, argue preventing small children from being infected by – and developing immune responses to – seasonal flu viruses might make them more vulnerable when a flu pandemic rolls around.

Note: this is a different set of researchers than the previous article.

But the Dutch scientists, who don’t refer to the Canadian research in their article, say giving kids aged six months to 59 months flu vaccine prevents them from acquiring a broad immune response to flu viruses that can only be induced by infection.

Vaccines trigger development of antibodies to the proteins on the surface of flu viruses, proteins that change often to evade the immune system. But when you catch the flu, something called cellular immunity also kicks in. It teaches the body to recognize other parts of a flu virus; those parts don’t change as much from one virus subtype to another.

The next few paragraphs are extremely important. Read closely:

Without that cellular immunity, the Dutch researchers say, children who experience a pandemic could have more difficulty fighting off the new flu strain. They suggest this may explain why the majority of fatal cases of H5N1 avian influenza have occurred in children and young adults.

They also report that they tested the theory in mice, some of which were vaccinated against the H3N2 strain of flu and others of which were experimentally infected with the same virus.

The mice were then exposed to the highly lethal H5N1 virus. The vaccinated mice died but the mice that had been previously infected with H3N2 suffered milder disease.

The Dutch researchers, led by Dr. Guus Rimmelzwaan, say more research is needed to see if their theory is true.

But they also suggest young children who live in areas where H5N1 viruses are endemic in poultry should not be vaccinated against seasonal flu, because blocking the development of cross-protective immune responses in these kids could raise the risk they face if they become infected with H5N1.

And although many pediatricians are readying stern lectures in support of vaccinating children, several in Southern California contacted by The Times acknowledged they have doubts about recommending a vaccine that is still in testing for all of their young patients.

“A significant proportion of our population don’t want to get it,” says Sherman Oaks pediatrician Mikayel Abramyan. “I don’t even know whether I will advocate for it right now.”

To date, notes Abramyan, who saw a fair amount of novel H1N1 over the summer, the illness has been mild, and many parents of the children he cares for “want them to get their immunity that way instead of a flu shot,” he says. While Abramyan says he rarely lets such preferences go unchallenged, “it’s a reasonable position, and I understand it on an individual level. . . . I understand where they’re coming from.”

“I haven’t seen enough evidence to show that swine flu is as deadly and as scary as it’s made out to be,” says Stuart-Nystrom, who last week was fighting a respiratory infection. Stuart-Nystrom thinks that media outlets have whipped up the threat in a bid to gain viewers. And “anything brought out by big business, by corporations, that makes me wary for sure. . . . I’m not sure they have our interests in mind.”

Nor is the Venice mother confident that the Food and Drug Administration can reliably assure the overall safety of the vaccine. Pointing to a recent spate of contaminated-food recalls, she said that the FDA’s relationship with the industries it regulates may be too close for the agency to operate effectively as an honest broker.

She also voiced the widely held belief that immunity acquired the natural way — through a child’s having caught an illness — is stronger and longer-lasting than that acquired by vaccination. That claim is much debated among physicians and infectious-disease specialists, with evidence falling on both sides of the debate.

“There’s so much information out there,” Stuart-Nystrom says. “The scary thing is, you don’t know what’s right and what’s wrong.”

Since one paragraph in the above article mentioned a “debate” over the long-lasting effects of vaccination, I’d like to jump to another virus, the vaccines promoted, and their not-so-lasting protection. Here’s one link straight from the FDA:

The FDA today approved Cervarix, a new vaccine to prevent cervical cancer and precancerous lesions caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18. The vaccine is approved for use in girls and women ages 10 years through 25 years.

Genital HPV infections are the most common sexually-transmitted diseases in the United States, and HPV types 16 and 18 are the cause of about 70 percent of cervical cancers worldwide.

The primary clinical study for Cervarix included more than 18,000 women ages 15 years through 25 years in the United States and 11 other countries. Of these women, about 9,000 received Cervarix and 9,000 received Havrix, a licensed hepatitis A virus vaccine, as a control.

Studies also were performed to measure the immune response to Cervarix in girls ages 10 years through 14 years. Their immune response was similar to that of women ages 15 years through 25 years, indicating that the vaccine should have similar effectiveness in the 10 through 14 year age group.

The current data show that Cervarix provides protection for about 6.4 years, but additional information on the length of protection is forthcoming.

No vaccine is 100 percent effective, and Cervarix does not protect against HPV infections that an individual may already have at the time of vaccination, nor does Cervarix necessarily protect against those HPV types not in the vaccine.

Provides protection for 6.4 years against a virus which I’ve heard other people state that most healthy females will overcome on their own. But wait, what else is in this vaccine:

Cervarix contains the adjuvant ASO4. ASO4 is a combination of aluminum hydroxide and monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL) and is the first vaccine licensed by the FDA that includes MPL as an adjuvant. An adjuvant is a substance incorporated into a vaccine that enhances or directs the immune response of the vaccinated individual.

Little is known about how adjuvants really work and there is a lot of debate in the scientific community. However, every time I hear about a new adjuvant being injected into someone I can’t help but think this is just a modern version of snake oil. Let’s switch to a different HPV vaccine and some recent revelations from one of its former researchers:

Amid questions about the safety of the HPV vaccine Gardasil one of the lead researchers for the Merck drug is speaking out about its risks, benefits and aggressive marketing.

Dr. Diane Harper says young girls and their parents should receive more complete warnings before receiving the vaccine to prevent cervical cancer. Dr. Harper helped design and carry out the Phase II and Phase III safety and effectiveness studies to get Gardasil approved, and authored many of the published, scholarly papers about it. She has been a paid speaker and consultant to Merck. It’s highly unusual for a researcher to publicly criticize a medicine or vaccine she helped get approved.

Dr. Harper joins a number of consumer watchdogs, vaccine safety advocates, and parents who question the vaccine’s risk-versus-benefit profile. She says data available for Gardasil shows that it lasts five years; there is no data showing that it remains effective beyond five years.

This raises questions about the CDC’s recommendation that the series of shots be given to girls as young as 11-years old. “If we vaccinate 11 year olds and the protection doesn’t last… we’ve put them at harm from side effects, small but real, for no benefit,” says Dr. Harper. “The benefit to public health is nothing, there is no reduction in cervical cancers, they are just postponed, unless the protection lasts for at least 15 years, and over 70% of all sexually active females of all ages are vaccinated.” She also says that enough serious side effects have been reported after Gardasil use that the vaccine could prove riskier than the cervical cancer it purports to prevent. Cervical cancer is usually entirely curable when detected early through normal Pap screenings.

I’m going wrap up this blog post and let you contemplate the “risk-versus-benefit” comment from Dr. Harper. It will be helpful for deeper thinking by putting that comment into context with the earlier articles on cellular immunity, the unintended consequences of vaccinating for weaker (or the wrong) viruses and how this will play into long term health. Gegen drei polnische Ärzte und sechs Krankenschwestern läuft eine strafrechtliche Untersuchung, nachdem eine Reihe von obdachlosen Menschen nach medizinischen Studien für einen Impfstoff gegen das H5N1-Vogelgrippe-Virus gestorben sind.

Das medizinische Personal eines Spitals in der Stadt Grudziadz im Norden Polens, wird beschuldigt, im vergangenen Jahr medizinische Versuche an nicht weniger als 350 Obdachlose und armen Menschen gemacht zu haben. Dabei sollte ein Impfstoff gegen das Vogelgrippe-Virus getestet werden.

Gemäss den Behörden, zahlten die Ärzte den Obdachlosen 1-2 Dollar, wenn sie sich impfen liessen. Sie erzählten ihnen, dass sie einen konventionellen Impfstoff testen wollen, in Wahrheit war es aber ein noch nie getesteter Impfstoff gegen die Vogelgrippe.

Der Direktor eines Obdachlosen-Zentrums, Mieczyslaw Waclawski, sagte einer polnischen Zeitung, dass in seinem Umfeld im vergangenen Jahr 21 Menschen starben, eine Zahl weit über dem Durchschnitt der letzten acht Jahren.

Auch wenn die Behörden noch keine direkte Verbindung zwischen den Toten und den Aktivitäten des medizinischen Personals bestätigen wollen, sagte Polens Gesundheitsministerin, Ewa Kopacz, dass die beteiligten Ärzte und Krankenschwestern nicht in ihre Berufe zurückkehren sollen. “Es ist im Interesse aller Ärzte, dass die Verantwortlichen bestraft werden”, fügte der Minister hinzu.

Laut den Ermittler ist es auch möglich, dass das medizinische Personal das pharmazeutische Unternehmen, das die Studien in Auftrag gegeben hat, getäuscht habe. Die Verdächtigen erklärten, dass alle Beteiligten wussten, dass die Studie über einen Vogelgrippe-Impfstoff sei und sich gern daran beteiligt hätten.

Die Nachricht von der Untersuchung ist ein weiterer Schlag für das Ansehen des polnischen Gesundheitssystems. Im Jahr 2002 wurden eine Reihe von Sanitäter für schuldig befunden, ihre Patienten für Provisionen von einem Bestattungs-Unternehmen getötet zu haben.

In order to make informed vaccine decisions, you must know what the
ingredients are in the vaccine. There are no long-term safety studies done
on any vaccines, including the flu vaccines. This new flu vaccine will be
released without adequate safety studies.

Common Flu Vaccine Ingredients include:

as a tissue fixative) Formaldehyde solution (formalin) is considered a
hazardous compound and it is vapor toxic.

 Sodium Chloride and Calcium Chloride
 Monosodium Glutamate (MSG):C5H8NNaO4, a Stabilizer MSG -
MSG intolerance: There have been numerous studies of allergies
and/or sensitivities to MSG, attributed to the free glutamic acid
component, which has been blamed for causing a wide variety of
physical symptoms such as migraines, nausea, digestive upsets,
drowsiness, heart palpitation, hair loss, asthma, anaphylactic shock,
rapidly increasing diabetes, and many other complaints.
 Potassium phosphate- a soluble salt which is used as a fertilizer, a
food additive and a fungicide. It is a source of phosphorus and
potassium. It is also a buffering agent.
 Thimerosal- a form of mercury still found in some multi-vile vaccines and is 10x more poisonous than regular form of mercury.
 Polyoxidonium- Synthetic polymers and nanomaterials display
selective phenotypic effects in cells and in the body that affect signal
transduction mechanisms involved in inflammation, differentiation,
proliferation, and apoptosis. When physically mixed or covalently
conjugated with cytotoxic agents, bacterial DNA or antigens,
polymers can drastically alter specific genetically controlled
responses to these agents.
 Squalene- An oil based adjuvant that has never been approved in the
US as safe, can cause blindness, autoimmune dysfunction and can
inhibit sperm production. More than two dozen peer-reviewed
scientific papers from ten different laboratories throughout the U.S.,
Europe, Asia, and Australia have been published documenting the
development of autoimmune disease in animals subjected to

squalene-based adjuvants. Novartis will make a flu vaccine using
MF59 consisting of Squalene, Tween 80 – A recent study (December
2005) discovered that Tween80 can cause anaphylaxis, a sometimes
fatal reaction characterized by a sharp drop in blood pressure, hives,
and breathing difficulties.

 Human Diploid Tissue- organ and tissue from aborted baby tissue is
now used in manufacturing many vaccines.
 Vaccines given in the past have contained H1N1 viruses; this is not a

Feb 27, 2009 Toronto Sun, A large consignment of seasonal flu vaccine, which was circulated to 18 European countries, has been infected with deadly live avian flu virus. The Company that released contaminated flu virus material from a plant in Austria, Baxter International, confirmed Friday that the experimental product contained live H5N1 avian flu viruses. And an official of the World Health Organization’s European operation said the body is closely monitoring the investigation into the events that took place at Baxter International’s research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria.
The contaminated product, which Baxter calls “experimental virus material,”
was made at the Orth-Donau research facility. Baxter makes its flu
vaccine including a human H5N1 vaccine for which a license is
expected shortly at a facility in the Czech Republic.

News: From the Center of Disease Control – What are the signs and
symptoms of this virus in people?

The symptoms of novel H1N1 flu virus in people are similar to the
symptoms of seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or
stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. A significant number
of people who have been infected with this virus also have reported
3 diarrhea and vomiting. Also, like seasonal flu, severe illnesses and death
has occurred as a result of illness associated with this virus. It’s not known
at this time how severe novel H1N1 flu virus will be in the general
population. In seasonal flu, there are certain people that are at higher risk
of serious flu-related complications.
The CDC is recommending that all people take 2 regular flu vaccines and
one H1N1 vaccine this year. Giving multiple Flu vaccines has never been
tested for safety. Never have children or adults taken 3 vaccines in one flu
season.

When Medicare began to cover the flu vaccine for seniors, the hospital
visits for seniors went up dramatically that year from complications.
1997 Swine Flu Vaccine – The last time we had a swine flu H1N1 vaccine,
there were 25 deaths from the vaccine and only one death from the flu.
The vaccine program was pulled and considered a disaster. For

Some major concerns that have not been address:
 Fast tracked by the FDA, very little testing for safety
 Will only be tested a few weeks on a few hundred adults and children
 Going to give it to the children and pregnant mothers first
 One-size fits all- babies will get the same vaccine as a 280lb man;
this is not sound science and carries grave risks for the children or
those who are immune sensitive.
 We now have a whole generation of children who are immune
compromised and are suffering with autism, ADHD, seizure disorders,
diabetes and asthma. These children could potentially have severe
reaction to this vaccine.
 First responders will be next, police, firemen, EMS, nurses…
4 2001 a bill was passed that totally protects any vaccine manufacture
free of all liability from injury or death!
 Drug companies were given billions of tax dollars to develop
experimental flu vaccines last year
 Many of these vaccines are coming from Europe where some
ingredients are not approved in the United States for use in the
vaccines. Squalene is one example.

The Childhood Vaccine Safety Act of 1986 set up very clear safety
guidelines to include the following measures.
1. Provide written benefit and risk information to parents before giving
vaccines
2. Accurate written record of manufactures name and lot number must
be kept
3. Childs medical record must have this information recorded
4. Close monotoring after vaccinations and reporting of all serious
health problems that develop after vaccines and all adverse events
must be reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System
VAERS.

QUESTION: How are the schools going to insure that these safety rules
are followed? How are they going to comply with this act if they line
children up in schools like cattle and vaccinate them? Are parents going to
have the right to say NO?
There are reports across the country from people who have gotten the flu
shots in the past that they have had the worst flu ever!
There is compelling evidence that people who get 5 consecutive flu shots in
a 10 year period are 10X more likely to get alzheimers because of the

Are Vaccines Safe? DVD, Mary Tocco

Çünkü toplumumuzun karmaşıklığını, üretim araçlarının çeşitliliği ve üretkenliğini var eden, sanayi ve şehir olgularını ayakta tutan şey enerji. İnsanlar fotosentez yapamadığına göre bu enerji “dışarıdan” bir yerden gelmek zorunda. Bu kaynak, uzun süre fotosentez yapmış canlıların depoladığı enerjinin yoğunlaşmış hali olan fosil yakıtlar. Kullanıma sunulan paranın nüfusa oranı refahı belirlediği gibi, kullanıma sunulan enerjinin nüfusa oranı da paranın iş yapabilme gücünü, yani bütün doğal kaynakları işleme ve değer üretebilme gücünü belirliyor.

Bu kavram Olduvai Teorisi’nde işleniyor(4). Teoriye göre yıllık enerji kullanım miktarının dünya nüfusuna oranı, sanayi medeniyetinin sağlam, test edilebilir bir profilini çıkarıyor. Bilimsel ve doğruluğu kesin olan verileri kullanarak ciddi ama bir o kadar da basit bir analiz sonucunda bu sürenin 100-150 yıl olduğunu tahmin edebiliyoruz. Bu da bize 21.yy ortalarına doğru karasaban, kerpiç ev, odun sobası medeniyetine kesin dönüş yapacağımızı gösteriyor. Azalan net enerji, medeniyeti ayakta tutan sanayi, ticaret ve tarım faaliyetlerinin aksamasına, dolayısıyla toplumları ve devletleri bir arada tutan dokunun zarar görmesine neden olur. Hepimizin bildiği gibi toplum içi ilişkiler yeterince bozulduğunda iç savaş, diplomasi bozulduğunda da savaş çıkar. Bu noktada sorulması gereken soru, üç asır öncesinin ilkel medeniyetine barışçıl yoldan mı, savaşarak mı döneceğimizdir. İşin bir de net enerji boyutu var ki, önceki yazılarımda bahsetmiştim(5). Her türlü maden çıkarma faaliyetinin verimliliği azalmakta. Petrolden elde edilen net enerjinin grafiği de aşağıdakine benzeyecektir.

Birincil enerji kaynağı olan petrolün üretimi ile dünya nüfusunu oranlamak hepimizin yapabileceği bir iş. Petrol doruğunu(peak oil) 2005-2008 döneminde geride bıraktık(6~13). Nüfusumuz ise hala artmaya devam ediyor. Doruğu geçtik geçmesine de, neden bunu hissetmedik? Hem gelişmemiş, hem de gelişmiş milletler, bir kaç küçük istisna dışında, nasıl oldu da 2008′e kadar refahını artırmaya devam etti? Sonuçta refah seviyesi enerji kullanımıyla doğru orantılı değil mi? Bu soruların muhtemel yanıtı, yani ortalama refahın doruk noktasının 1979′tan 2008′e ötelenmesinin kanımca iki nedeni olabilir:

1. Dünyanın petrol üretim grafiği asimetriktir. Zirve noktası önemli miktarda sağa kaymıştır.

2. Teknolojideki ilerlemeler paralelinde enerjinin tüketimindeki verim artışları sonucu refah zirvesi ötelenmiştir.

Birinci olasılık kuvvetle muhtemel olmakla birlikte, öteleme etkisi her ikisinin bileşiminden kaynaklanıyor olabilir. Birinci olasılığın işaretleri bellidir. Petrol doruğu dünya için kesinlikle “yolun yarısı” anlamına gelmeyecek. Fosil yakıt medeniyetinin sonuna bizim kuşağımız şahit olacak.

Ekolojik yansıma: İklim değişikliği

Yoğun fosil yakıt kullanımı, daha fazla yakıtı yeryüzünde üretmek(biyoyakıt) amaçlı ya da sadece taşıma kapasitesini geçen nüfusun ihtiyaçlarını geçici olarak doyurmak için yapılan orman katliamları nedeniyle atmosferin ısısını yükselttik. Yükselen ısı zincirleme reaksiyon başlattı ve hemen bugün mağaralara geri dönsek bile troposfer ısınmaya devam edecek. Bu gerçekle baş etmenin rasyonel bir yoluymuş gibi gösterilen ve 2012′de sonlanacak olan Kyoto protokolünün temeli zengin ülkelerin tüketme hakkını fakir ülkelerden satın almasından başka bir şey değildi. Protokol imzalandığında zaten meydana gelmiş olan küresel ısınma ise yok sayılıyor. Yani 2005′e kadar atı alan Üsküdar’ı geçmiş sayılıyor. Bu çarpık, irrasyonel mantık devam etmekte. Aralık’taki Kopenhag BM zirvesinde bu sürece yeni bir şekil verilmeye çalışılacak. Plan tutarsa her ülkeye bir petrol kotası tayin edilecek. Bu kota her yıl azalmaya devam edecek. Bu plan dünya kamuoyuna geri kalmış ülkelerle gelişmiş ülkeler arasındaki eşitsizliğin giderileceği şekline yansıtılıyor ki, büyük yalan. Washington’dan yönetilen hükümet sağ olsun, Kyoto’ya son anda imza koyan Türkiye’nin bu plandan zarar göreceği kesin. Zararın büyüklüğünü kestirebilmek zor, böyle bir çalışma yapılmış da değil. Çok bilir akademisyenlerimiz Kyoto’nun iyi bir şey olduğunu zannettiklerindendir herhalde. Neden zarar göreceğimizi açıklayayım.

Türkiye enerji kaynaklarına son derece duyarlı bir ülke. Yani ekonomisi kırılgan. Ekonominin kırılganlığının ölçüsü enerji yoğunluğu(toe/GSMH) kavramı(14). Bu, tüketilen enerjinin(toe: ton petrol eşdeğeri) ekonominin toplam üretimine(USD ya da TL) oranıdır. Yani bir birim mal veya hizmet üretmek için sisteme girmesi gereken enerji. Aşağıdaki grafikte Türkiye’nin solda ve aşağıda, Mısır, Meksika, Brezilya gibi petrol üreticisi ülkelerle yan yana, verimsiz bir bölgede olduğunu görüyoruz.

Bu ülkelere göre ciddi bir sıkıntımız var, petrolün tamamını ithal ediyoruz. Dünyanın en çok petrol ve doğalgaz ithal eden 9. ülkesiyiz(15,16). Çok enerji tüketiyor, az değer üretiyoruz. Dünyaca tanınan verimsiz bir sanayimiz var. Sadece sanayi verimsiz değil, tüketimimiz de sağlanan faydaya göre çok yüksek. Ankara’daki bir konut ısınmada Berlin’deki eşdeğer bir konutun 4.5 katı enerji harcıyor(17). Ekonomiye giren enerjinin Kopenhag uyarınca her yıl belli bir oranda düştüğünü düşünün.

Kyoto-Kopenhag planına imza koymak yolda bulduğunuz senedi gidip ödemekten farklı değildir. Tek fark; senedi bulan başbakandır, ödenen para ise bizimdir! Küresel ısınmayla mücadele etmenin tek yolu kendimize zincir vurmak mıdır? Doğa ve iklim için faydalı adımlar atmak için birinin boynumuza ilmeği geçirmesi mi gerekiyor? Aynı hükümetin orman yakmayı meşrulaştırmasına, son kalan bakir ormanlarımızı madencilere peşkeş çekmesine ne diyorsunuz? Çok “Kyoto” değil mi? ABD’nin neden sürece dahil olmadığını hiç düşünmediniz mi, sayın “çevreci”ler? Irak petrollerini kendine bağlamışken Kyoto’yu imzalaması mümkün mü? Demokratikleşebilmek için AB’ye üye olmamız gerekmediği gibi, CO2 salımını azaltmak ya da iyi bir şeyler yapmak için hiç bir anlaşmaya ortak olmamız gerekmiyor. Merak etmeyin, Suudi Arabistan’ın, İran’ın petrol rezervlerini ikiyle çarpma yalanı ortaya çıksın hele… Gıda fiyatları katlansın, market rafları boşalsın, benzin, doğalgaz karneyle dağıtılmaya başlansın hele…

Ekonomik ve politik yansıma: Sermaye devlete el koyuyor

Para el değiştiren mal ve hizmetleri ölçüyor. İstisnasız bütün mal ve hizmet üretimi sonlu doğal kaynak kullanıyor. Ulusal egemenlik haklarının çiğnenip geçildiği “küresel” dünyada para ve bankacılık sistemi, hem kişiler, hem devletler ölçeğinde borç stokunu termodinamik gerçeklere bağlı kalmaksızın artırma kapasitesine sahip. Ancak sonsuz doğal kaynakların olduğu bir evrende çalışması mümkün olan faiz sistemi her gün yeni bir fiziksel sınıra vurduğumuz bu zamanda ne getirecek? Borçlular, bir sabah işe gidecek ve borcu geri ödemeye yetecek ekonomik faaliyetleri gerçekleştirmek için gereken doğal kaynağın olmadığını görecek, iflasını ilan edecek. Bolluk zamanlarını borcunu katlamakla geçirmiş olan “zeki” insanlar kıtlık zamanlarında ne yapacak? Bugünün dünyasında bir kişi gösteremezsiniz ki, para kazanmak, iş yapmak için fosil yakıt ve onun yan ürünlerini kullanmasın. Borçlunun borcunu ödemek için kullanacağı doğal kaynaklar azaldıkça, ekonomik üretimin hızı, dolayısıyla borcu ödeme hızı düşecek. İflas ve hacizler her yeri, herkesi kapsadığı zaman alacaklı borcunu nasıl tahsil edecek? Düşünün, herkesin tarlasına el kondu, bankanın tarlaları satacağı kimse kalmadı. Bankanın borçluyu tarlada çalıştırarak borcunu emek üzerinden tahsil etmekten başka çıkış yolu yoktur. Belli bir noktadan sonra borcu ödemeye insan ömrü yetmeyeceği için sonraki nesillere aktarılacaktır(İmkan 1). Devletler ölçeğinde ise alacaklının devlete el koyma şansı en azından kağıt üzerinde olmadığı için devletin duran varlıklarına el konacaktır(18,19). Birincisi, duran varlıklar da doğal kaynaklar gibi sonlu olduğu için, ikincisi enerji yokluğu nedeniyle bunların ekonomik üretime katkı sağlama kapasitesi olmadığı için yeterli gelmeyecektir. Peki devletlerin duran varlıklarından başka verecek neyi var? Bildiniz, vatandaşı(İmkan 2). Şimdi bu birinci ve ikinci imkanların kullanılabilmesi demokratik hukuk devletlerinde mümkün olmadığına göre gidilecek yol bellidir. Anayasayı değiştirmek, demokrasiyi, insan ve vatandaşlık haklarını sonsuza kadar ortadan kaldırmak. Hoş geldin faşizm, hoş geldin dikta…

Para sisteminin fiziksel gerçeklerden kopmasını son üç asırda, özellikle de 20.yy’da yapılan bankacılık devrimleri hızlandırdı(19). Bilgisayar şebekelerinin kurulmasından sonra ise para artık silikon çiplerde, kendi ekosisteminde yaşayan sanal bir varlık haline geldi. Bu durum gümrük duvarlarının kalkmasıyla iyice pekişti. Küreselleşme adı ile satılan ulusal egemenliklerin yok edilmesi, ulusların kendine yeter olmaktan çıkarılması projesi uluslara kölelikte birliktelikten başka bir şey sağlamadı. Ekonomiler birbirine göbekten bağlı. ABD’de konut balonu patlıyor, Türkiye, piyasalarına şırınga edilen 18 milyar dolarla çökmekten kurtuluyor(21,22). Artan borç yani artan para arzına karşılık giderek azalan enerji rezervleri kapitalizmin kendisinin koca bir balon olduğunu gösteriyor. Son balon yavaş yavaş söndüğünde -ya da patladığında, ya da krizlerden oluşan bir merdivenin basamaklarını inmeye başladığında- insanların hayatını sürdürmesini sağlayan sanayi, ticaret ve tarım faaliyetleri sekteye uğrayacak, uç örneklerde tamamen duracak. Örnek vermek gerekirse market rafları boşalacak, enerjisiz, yakıtsız şehirlerde barınmak imkansız hale gelecek. Benzini biten ekonomi krizden krize koşarken, kitlelerin birikimi ve mülkü artan oranlarda zenginlerin cebine aktarılırken, doğal kaynak ve para yokluğu nedeniyle kamu kurumları görevini yapamaz hale gelmişken polis, hukuk, mahkeme kalır mı meydanda? Hoş geldin sıkıyönetim, hoş geldin orman kanunu…

Gidiş nereye?

Zaman geçtikçe görülüyor ki, bu değişimlerin gerçekleşeceği zaman dilimi hiç de uzun olmayacak. Her gün ortaya çıkan bilgi ve bulgular, yapılmış en kötümser tahminlerin elimizdeki en gerçekçi tahminler olduğunu gösteriyor.

Devlet yönetimi demokratik anayasal düzenden faşist diktaya, kalıcı sıkıyönetime, istibdada doğru kayıyor. Şehirler en sürdürülemez, en verimsiz yerleşim birimleri. Kullanılabilir enerji azaldıkça yüksek enerji girdisine muhtaç şehir hayatı katlanılmaz hale gelecek. Sanayi küçüldükçe, iş yerleri kapandıkça şehir nüfusuna olan ihtiyaç ortadan kalkacak, şehirli ama işsiz, parasız yığınlar oluşacak. Şu kadarını söyleyeyim, parasız yığınlar sermayenin en sevmediği şeydir. Safra gözüyle bakılan bu insanların sermaye için bir tehdit oluşturmaması için sürekli baskılanması gerekir. Bu da bugünlerde adım adım polis devletine gidiyor oluşumuzun nedenidir. Çare köye dönmek ve kapitalizmin, para sisteminin nimetlerine ihtiyaç duymayan, kendine yeten bir hayat kurmaktır. Geldiğimiz bu noktada en büyük şanssızlığımız ise şudur: Köyden şehre göç etmek ve şehirliliği öğrenmek kolaydır. Emeğinizi satar, kazandığınız parayla ihtiyaçlarınızı satın alarak hayatınızı sürdürürsünüz. Şehirlilik zaten budur. Ancak bunun tersi şehirden köye göç daha zordur. Köylülüğü öğrenemezsiniz. Köy hayatı yaşayarak öğrenilen bir şey ve köy nüfusunun toplam nüfusumuza oranı hala düşüyor. Aptallığımız ortada: Fosil yakıt ipiyle bir çukura indik ve şimdi bu çukurdan çıkmamızı sağlayacak ipten yoksunuz. Zaman aleyhimize işlerken olumlu yönde adım atmak, hiç olmazsa köyü kurtarmak şöyle dursun, daha da baltalıyor, kendine yeten hayat tarzını, yani tarım ve hayvancılığı geri dönüşü olmayacak şekilde yok ediyoruz. Kendine yeten kültürü dahi petrole, makinaya, modernliğe boğarak enerji bağımlısı hale getiriyoruz. Mutlu son aptallıkta ısrar edenlerin olmayacak, bunu biliyoruz.

Adım adım faşizm ve toplu imha

I) Elektronik kimlik kartları

T.C. 2010′da elektronik kimlik kartlarına geçecek(23). Kimlikte bir çipin olması, kişinin kendi kimliğinin üzerinde okuyamadığı bilgilerin olması demek. Her bahaneyle bu kimlik kartları okuyuculardan geçirilecek. Mali durumunuza varıncaya kadar bugüne kadar kısmen mahrem sayılan bilgileriniz devlet, banka, işveren tarafından okunup değerlendirilecek. Deri altı çipe geçiş durumunda gerçekten işler zıvanadan çıkacak, çünkü bilgilerinizi almak isteyen birinin size yaklaşması dahi yeterli olacak. Fişlendiğimizden haberimiz bile olmayacak.

II) Genetiği değiştirilmiş gıda

20.yy sonlarına kadar kendine yeten, yani bütün dış ticareti dursa bile halkı aç kalmayacak olan bir kaç ülkeden biri olan Türkiye, yabancı başkentlerden yönetilen hükümetler tarafından tarıma kasıtlı zarar vermeyi amaçlayan hamlelere maruz kaldı. Gümrük Birliği, Tohumculuk Yasası, yabancılara mülk verilmesi, gayri resmi olarak GDO’ya izin verilmesi gibi şiddeti gittikçe artan darbeler ülke çiftçisini üretemez hale getiriyor. Her fırsatta kredi kullandırılması, borcunu ödeyemeyen çiftçinin toprağına el konması, çok uluslu ve art niyetli şirketlerin etkinliğini artırması, yer altı ve yer üstü suların özelleştirme kapsamına alınması bizi tarlasını sulayamayan, yiyeceğini üretemeyen bir köle-ulus olmaya doğru götürüyor. GDO’ların sinsice, zorla midelerimize tıkılması ile hasta; tohumların çapraz tozlaşma ile ülke sathına yayılması ile tarım yapamayan bir ulus haline geleceğiz. Bu gidiş hemen durdurulmazsa tıpkı Soylent Green filmindeki gibi şehre tıkılmış, çiftçilik yapamayan, her gün karneyle bir avuç yiyecek dağıtılan insan yığınlarına döneceğiz. Hayatta kalmak isteyen herkes yiyecek istihkakını hak etmek için şirketlere “gönüllü” kölelik edecek.

III) Tasarlanmış salgınlar, hastalıktan beter tedaviler

H1N1(domuz gribi) ve H5N1(kuş gribi)’in laboratuardan yayıldığı ile ilgili ipuçları var(24~26, 34). Aşıların yüksek miktarda civa ve formaldehit içerdiği, sayısız hastalığa yol açtığı biliniyor(27~29). Bazı ülkelerde mecburi aşılamaların yapılması, bize yakın gelecekte hükümetlerin alacağı tutum hakkında bir ipucu vermeli(30~33). Bugün yurtdışına çıkarken anayasaya ve hasta haklarına aykırı olarak zorunlu tutulan ne idüğü belirsiz bu aşıların yarın sırasıyla tüm öğrencilere, tüm kamu görevlilerine ve nihayet tüm halka hapis ve silah zoruyla uygulanmayacağını kim garanti edebilir? Anayasa ve özgürlüklerin ortadan kaldırılması demek olan karantina olasılığına değinmiyorum bile.

IV) Halkları köleleştiren bir borç girdabı

Küreselleşme adıyla yutturulan, ABD’nin “büyük balık küçük balığı yutar” düzeninin tüm dünyaya uygulanması projesi son aşamasına gelmek üzere. Tarihin en derin ekonomik bunalımının nedenleri ortada iken, ulusal ve küresel para ve bankacılık sistemlerinin çökmeye mecbur olduğu insanlardan gizleniyor. Çarpık düzen IMF, DB, DTÖ, AB, BIS gibi organlar aracılığıyla tüm dünyaya yayılarak borç batağının içine çekilmemiş hiç bir halk kalmamasına çalışılıyor. Ekonomik büyüme küçülmeye dönüştüğünde, ekonomiyi besleyecek fosil yakıtlar kıtlaştığında kamu borçlarının nasıl ödeneceği hakkında en küçük bir fikir yok. Her şeyin farkında olan alacaklıların boş durmadığını, borç tahsili için bizim duymamamız gereken planları olduğuna emin olabilirsiniz.

V) Bütün bu olan bitene uyanmaya başlayan insanların direncini bastırmak

Mobese’lenmemiş şehrin, kasabanın, dinlenmeyen telefonun, sansürlenmeyen internet iletişiminin, gazetenin, kitabın olmadığı bir geleceğe doğru koşar adım ilerliyoruz. Deri altı çipler, uydudan izlenen otomobiller, kameralı telefonlar ile attığımız her adım türlü bahanelerle kontrol edilirken, daha da kötüsü cahil çoğunluk bunların insanların iyiliği için olduğunu zannederken bir direniş örgütlemek, yasal bile olsa hak arama faaliyetlerine girişmek ne kadar mümkün? Ordunun attığı adımlar yetkisiz insanlar tarafından yasadışı olarak izlenirken, terörist saldırılar ordudan önce şirketler tarafından öğrenilirken bu ordunun olası bir savaş durumunda yurdu savunması ne kadar mümkün? Cevabı Cumhurbaşkanı’ndan alalım: “Ülkenin içini kemiren sorunların çözülmemesi halinde, kaçınılmaz olarak başka devletlerin müdahalesine açık alanlar ortaya çıkar…”

Polisin yetkileri sürekli artırılıyor. İleride 1984 romanındaki Doğruluk Bakanlığı’na dönüşecek olan Kamu Düzeni ve Güvenliği Müsteşarlığı kuruluyor. Yüksek mahkemelere “çeki düzen” veriliyor. Anayasa tüm bunları kalıcılaştırmak, meşrulaştırmak için baştan yazılacak. Direnme bir yana, otoriteyi eleştirme hakkı da tarih kitaplarındaki yerini alacak.

ATTENZIONE:
VOTA QUI IL SONDAGGIO PER GLI ARGOMENTI DA APPROFONDIRE

In questo articolo è stata citata la notizia che Kathleen Sebelius, segretario del dipartimento alla salute ed ai servizi sociali della presidenza Obama, aveva firmato l’immunità legale per le case farmaceutiche produttrici del vaccino contro la “bufala” dell’influenza suina: ciò significa che in caso di danni da vaccino, i risarcimenti per le cause legali di indennizzo verranno pagati dal governo americano.

Quello che gli italiani non sanno, è che la stessa immunità legale è stata concessa anche dal Governo italiano alla multinazionale svizzera Novartis per il suo vaccino Focetria: in altre parole, sarà il Ministero della Salute – presieduto da Maurizio Sacconi la cui moglie, Enrica Giorgetti, è direttore generale di Farmindustria, la lobby delle case farmaceutiche – che provvederà a rifondere a Novartis i pagamenti effettuati dalla casa farmaceutica alle eventuali vittime dei danni da vaccino in caso di condanna al risarcimento per cause civili promosse da queste ultime.

La clausola è contenuta al punto 4.6 del contratto di fornitura del vaccino Focetria siglato tra il ministero della salute e la Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Srl e approvato con DD del 27 agosto 2009: l’art. 4.5 prevede rimborsi al Ministero (da Novartis) per danni causati a terzi limitatamente a causa di Difetti di Fabbricazione (che debbono comunque essere stabiliti in accordo con Novartis ai sensi dell’art. 4.4, NdA) mentre ai sensi dell’art. 4.6, il Ministero dovrà risarcire Novartis per danni causati a terzi nei casi non previsti dall’art. 4.5 . Da punto di vista giuridico, un contratto del genere si giustifica dal fatto che la Novartis lega la vendita del vaccino all’approvazione del contratto: quindi se il Governo italiano vuole ottenere il Focetria, deve sottoscriverlo, pena la mancata fornitura del prodotto.
E il Governo italiano il Focetria lo vuole. Con tutte le sue forze. Tanto da parlare specificatamente di “somma urgenza”, come si può leggere nell’ordinanza del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri del 31 luglio 2009:

ORDINANZA DEL PRESIDENTE DEL CONSIGLIO DEI MINISTRI 31 luglio 2009
Disposizioni urgenti di protezione civile finalizzate a fronteggiare il rischio della diffusione del virus influenzale A (H1N1). (Ordinanza n. 3798). (09A09582)
IL PRESIDENTE DEL CONSIGLIO DEI MINISTRI
“…Al fine di contrastare la diffusione della pandemia influenzale da nuovo virus A (H1N1) e di assicurare la tempestiva attuazione di un piano strategico di vaccinazione della popolazione maggiormente esposta agli effetti del predetto virus, il direttore generale della prevenzione sanitaria del Dipartimento prevenzione e comunicazione del Ministero del lavoro, della salute e delle politiche sociali, e’ autorizzato a provvedere con i poteri di cui all’art. 1, comma 2 dell’ordinanza del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri n. 3275 del 28 marzo 2003 ed anche esercitando diritti di prelazione gia’ acquisiti presso produttori farmaceutici per contrastare altri tipi di pandemie influenzali con produttori farmaceutici, ad acquisire in termini di somma urgenza la fornitura di dosi di vaccino, farmaci antivirali ed i dispositivi di protezione individuale necessari per assicurare la vaccinazione delle categorie sensibili e comunque di almeno il quaranta per cento della popolazione residente nel territorio nazionale… ” (fonte)

Quindi, e tanto per riassumere: il Governo italiano ha deciso che lo Stato italiano ha assolutamente bisogno del vaccino contro la bufala dell’influenza suina e pur di averlo al “modico” costo di 400 milioni di euro, si farà carico delle eventuali spese per rifusione danni da vaccino senza che le case farmaceutiche debbano rimetterci un euro.

Le domande, quindi, sono tre. La prima:
quanti sanno dell’ “impunità” legale concessa a Novartis dal governo italiano?
La seconda:
qualcuno ricorda di aver sentito o letto la notizia su qualsiasi televisione, radio o giornale?
L’ultima:
quanto è grande il disprezzo che questi governanti, che fingono di amministrarci, dimostrano di avere per noi cittadini di questo Stato e le sue risorse?
