That said, this album is smoooooooth as silk. Each track winds and twists around your brain, making it plan your next dance party (making sure to include HST on the playlist.) Okay, this is getting ridiculous. What I mean to say is that the album is great, though there are, admittedly, a few low points when it sounds like they just turned the Moog on, held a chord down, changed the chord every eight bars, and put a basic drum beat under it. the only thing that doesn’t sometimes feel like it was just phoned in is the vocals, but they sound like they’re the only live thing on the album, so that’s not surprising. However, these low points are fairly few and far between, so the album, as a whole, is very enjoyable. A great start to what I hope is a great career. –

We’re pretty excited to be playing a show with Jared Mees & The Grown Children next Monday when they come into town from Portland. Jared Mees runs a record label / boutique shop in Portland called Tender Loving Empire. They’ve put out some great releases including a book called Shitbeams On The Loose which includes artwork by our friends Rusty Jordan, and Brent Harada who have made a lot of fliers for our shows and also designed the cover for the last Bad Dudes album. (Jordan did the flyer for this show as well.) Its been a while since I last saw Starving Daughters play.. can’t wait to see what they have in store for the show.

savage dragon is giving daps to barack obama (is savage dragon black(or at least half black(the minimum requirement for giving daps?)(let me check…there is a bible length wikipedia entry about savage dragon, apparently he is an amnesiac.)?). this is amazing to me no wonder he won the presidency he got the comic readers vote.  it doesnt stop there as far as the far fetched. he hops from the image universe to the marvel universe (earth-616 i think) and to many other comic book universes. barack obama teams up with spider-man in the amazing spider-man #583. we are indeed in a historic moment in history. this marks the first time in US history that, “the character of a future president had been shown on a comic book cover,” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiderman_obama_comic) ever.

on a less philosophical note, several celebrities were seen at the recent Thurston Moore concert at the smell. the guest list included Randy “Randolph” Randall from the indie rock duo No Age. Zacarías “of the rocha” de la Rocha of the indie rock duo Rage Against the Machine. Vincent “vinny badabingalingaweredaweedatdingdong” Gallo of indie rock duo Buffalo ’66. And the list goes on just to end right there. it was a wild night of noise, with Thurston arguing, with his fingers, the fact that he was playing a guitar, with his fingers (no one could deny that he was on stage for a while then got off stage).
