Immer schön in Deckung bleiben. Etwa fünfzehn erwachsene Leute sitzen gebannt vor vier Leinwänden, mit Joypads in den Händen. Wir spielen “Halo3″ auf insgesamt vier vernetzten XBoxen (oder XBoxes?). Es gibt Bier und Chips. Und in einer Gefechtspause sogar Spaghetti. Halo3 ist ein sogananntes Killerspiel. Und diesen Namen verdient es auch. Der Spieler hat zum Ziel, in einer virtuellen Welt Gegner aufzuspüren und zu töten. Recht destruktiv, zugegeben. Schaue ich in die Runde, so sehe ich Leute verschiedenen Alters, verschiedener Herkunft, und die sind alle so unglaublich friedfertig, dass es einem ganz unheimlich wird. Da kann etwas nicht stimmen: Machen doch Killerspiele aggressiv und verwandeln Bünzlis in schiesswütige Monster. Diese elenden Ego-Shooter müssen verboten werden! Wir fünfzehn Leute sollten lieber etwas anständiges machen, zum Beispiel Abhängen am Bahnhof. Ein bisschen Drogen nehmen. Oder andere Menschen treffen und vermöbeln. Apropos vermöbeln: Ich gehe jede Wette ein, keinen einzigen dieser Spieler hätte ich – trotz guten Überredungskünsten – dazu bringen können, mir eins auf die Fresse zu hauen. Alles friedlich. Alles normal. Auch zwei Frauen waren mit dabei, die jedem Gamer-Girl-Klischee trotzten: Junge, hübsche Frauen, die richtig sprechen können. Keine burschikosen Neutren mit bleichem Computerfreakgesicht und Schlabberlook. Aber eben, der Schein muss trügen. Wir sind sicher alle sogenannte Schläfer, die nur auf den richtigen Zeitpunkt warten. Irgendwann schlagen wir zu. Daher ist es auf jeden Fall sinnvoll, Killerspiele aus den Regalen zu verbannen. Sicher ist sicher. Immer schön in Deckung bleiben.

I understand why people are frustrated with video game usage from avid players…

It’s partly their fault, but a lot lies in the game and it holding power…

Like when I play Halo, Halo 2, or Halo 3…

Constantly… “Come on man let’s go, you said like 20 min…” from one of my friends (or girlfriend, when I had one). “Yeah, just like 15 more minutes… then I will be a good save point…” I would reply…

This would go on for hours especially before I had beat the game… and I didn’t consider the game beat until I beat them on Legendary…

Also I get so mad about Halo 3 because since it’s release I haven’t had access to an Xbox 360… it irratates me sometime.. LOL…

But I do understand people’s distraction by games, and feel that those that do have the problem just need to find something in the real world that grabs them as much as a game!!

It’s not that I am saying games shouldn’t be played, but the loss of interpersonal interaction can be detrimental to people growing up… In my own views!

Video Games are  very important to interactive media, although I don’t like them, I know there importance. I believe they are great for learning and extending peoples imaginations. Of course I agree that video games can become a problem in someones life, just like anything that can become an addiction…

The only time it does become a problem, is when you allow the activity to take away from other things that are suppose to be done in life… These are the stereotypes that are thrown at people that like video games. Not everyone that plays video games have this problem, but many do… or maybe they can’t find anything in life that excites them as much as the games. This is where I believe education would help.

But anyway, video games aren’t important to me, but I think they are awesome and this is my timeline on what made video games so awesome!

It was concieved by Thomas Goldsmith Jr. and Estle Ray Mann in 1948 with the CRT amusement center.

“Tennis for Two” in 1958 by William Higinbotham was  my next important part… Allowed for competition between two!!

“Computer Space” Nolan Bushnell & Ted Dabney… They made the first coin operated game… CAPITALISM!

Of course this led the way for Arcade games. Arcade games gave a really bad name to the video game because people would spend hours popping quarters into a machine. But, most don’t realize that these people are extremely competitive and want to be a winner and if winning a game or achieving the high score is what allow a person to accomplish this feeling, then so be it!

Personally I don’t like Arcade Games, I think this was the greatest movement for games….

1970’s Home computers, and home gaming consoles…

1977 the Atari 2600 came out… I had one of these, yeah it was 7 years old but I had one and enjoyed the shit out of it!

1985 Nintendo Entertainment System… Of course we had this and we played it all the time… SUPER MARIO BROS./DUCK HUNT.

1987 Lode Runner came out… This game was played on my buddies Apple II a lot by us… we even got in trouble saying we were going to wear out the computer… LOL

This is when I fell out of the game… I really got interested in outdoorsy stuff… my brother stayed involved in video games and has owned every system since…

I did fall back into the game when the Xbox came out in 2001… my brother got me involved in the Halo Series and I haved played and beat everyone since… In my big absence from the video game console, there were many changes: controllers, graphic, games, and holding power… Halo for me is addictive, I could play that game way to much… I don’t hate on games just hope that people don’t allow them to affect them like Halo does me!

Some people have asked how to system link two xbox 360’s to play Halo 3 campaign 4 player or even batte it out between 8 people. I will show you how. My team and I are actually going to play Halo 3 on legendery together, and we though it would be fun to play with four people and try to beat the enrtire game on this mode. After we beat it, I will post tips on how you can also beat Halo 3 on legendary. I actually already have one tip for you. Always have a sniper rifle or a type of gun that has a decent zoom. You cant run out on a rampage and kill all the enemys without dying a couple times. But this is how you system link:

What you need:

1. Two T.V.
2. Ethernet chord or xbox 360 system link chord (Same Thing and Comes with Xbox 360)
3. Two Xbox 360 consoles
4. Two controllers
5. Two copies of the Game you would like to play

What to do:

1. Take the Ethernet Chord or Xbox 360 system link chord and plug each end into the back of the two Xbox 360’s. There should be a slot on the back of both 360’s which allows you to plaug in the chord. It will look a lot like the outlet you plug a chord into to access the internet or the outlet you plug your home phone line into.
2. Hook up both Xbox 360’s to seperate T.V. ’s
3. Insert a copy of Halo 3 or what ever game you want to play into both consoles

How to play it:

Custom Game

1. Both Xbox 360’s must select Custom Game.
2. Both Xbox 360’s must select Network which is located at around the top of the screen
3. After selecting Nework, both xbox 360’s must select sytem link
4. It will then ask host or find game
5. One Xbox 360 must select Host Game while the other xbox 360 selects find game
6. They should connect. Now enjoy playing amongst 2-8 players!

Forge

1. Both Xbox 360’s must select Custom Forge.
2. Both Xbox 360’s must select Network which is located at around the top of the screen
3. After selecting Nework, both xbox 360’s must select sytem link
4. It will then ask host or find game
5. One Xbox 360 must select Host Game while the other xbox 360 selects find game
6. They should connect. Now enjoy playing amongst 2-8 players!

 Can not Connect:

Ususally you always connect if you followed the steps correctly. I have never had a connection problem, but if you do follow these steps:

1. Make sure Ethernet Cable in pluged in completely in both Xbox 360’s.
2. Try a different Ethernet Cable

Sorry not many tips on how to fix connection. If those two connection helpers are used, I can almost gaurentee that you will be connected.

You can actually pay someone for Halo 3 lessons. It’s like hiring a tennis pro to help you work on your swing, only you don’t have to go to the trouble of getting up off your couch.

The average market price seems to be around $35 hour, though if you want the best coaching, you’ll have to shell out $50 for a lesson. For the price-conscious Halo3 student, however, there are economy options. Such as hiring this enterprising 13 year old for the bargain rate of $10 an hour. (And for the status-conscious, you can even buy a year’s virtual friendship with a pro for only $35.)

While the websites are not “normal” professional-looking, they are probably well designed for the target market. They come complete with online payment, Halo Resumes, customer testimonials, and even little windows to click on to “Chat with a Customer Service Rep.”

Some of them seem to even be getting an education in supply and demand. Such as when there’s a shortage on a product, slide up the demand curve:

I’ve been doing lessons for Halo 2 and Halo 3 for nearly a year now and have nevered [sic] raised my prices before. However, I’ve gotten to the point where I have a constant backlog of lessons so I’ve decided to raise my prices.

Kids these days. Back in my day, there was no one you could go to for lessons on beating Bowser in Mario Bros. or shooting lessons for Duck Hunt. (Free tip: to improve your accuracy, put your gun so it actually touches the TV screen. Also, don’t shoot the dog.)

They even have helpful tactical jumping lessons. It’s like parkour for people without upper or lower body strength.

And while I recognize these 13 year olds could probably kick my butt at Halo, I do think I could be competitive with them in the Halo3 Services market. No, not as a Halo coach, no one would hire me for that. Instead, I’ll offer, for a small fee, the once in a lifetime opportunity to play Halo with a real live girl.

Judging from the Halo players I run into, the demand is certainly there. And it is most definitely an underserved market.

Vor lauter Wiesn-Dirndl-Bier-Whatever-Action hab ich das ganz vernachlässigt, aber ja – ich hab’s tatsächlich nach auch nur fast zwei Wochen schon durch. Es sollte eigentlich schneller gehen angesichts des Urlaubs, aber was soll’s.

Bei HALO ist es ja so – entweder man liebt es, oder man haßt es. Dazwischen gibt’s wohl nichts. Ich liebe es. Es war DAS Spiel, das mich überhaupt erst auf die Idee gebracht hat, eine Xbox zu kaufen. Ich hab’s bei ‘nem Kumpel auf dem PC gesehen und angezockt, und als 2003 dann die alte Xbox als Bundle mit HALO rauskam war es um mich geschehen. Und seit dem brauchte ich alles, was diesbezüglich rauskam, auch wenn ich Leute kenne, die das gar nicht verstehen. Egal. Aber genug der Vorgeschichte.

ODST zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß es SAUSCHWER geworden ist. Konnte ich HALO3 noch alleine auf “Heroic” durchspielen, hab ich das bei ODST gar nicht erst versucht. Da ist schon “Normal” ausreichend. Und ich bin nicht der einzige Gamer der das feststellt, das zu meiner Verteidigung . Aber, es macht trotzdem – oder vielleicht genau deshalb – Spaß. Die Grafik ist natürlich nicht mit einem “Gears of War” zu vergleichen, da liegen wirklich Welten dazwischen, aber schon das nette Geschrei der kleinen Deppen mit den Schilden (ich weiß nicht, wie die offiziell heißen) wenn sie mit ihren Babystimmen “YOU CAN DIE! FUCKER!” (oder in der deutschen Version “GRANATE! BÖSE!) schreien, ist Gold wert. Oder bringt einen an den Rande des Wahnsinns. Je nachdem.

Anyway, die Level, in denen man nur stupide durch Mombasa rennt und am besten den Feinden ausweicht, so gut es geht, sind etwas eintönig und stupide, das hätte man meines Erachtens besser machen können. Auch kann man sich da wunderbar verlaufen und stundenlang irgendwie im Kreis rumrennen, aber da bin ich ja eh Spezialistin drin. Ein anderer kann das vielleicht besser. Und daß ich so blöd bin und erst alle Feinde besiege, dann am Ziel ankomme und dann ins Wasser falle und ersaufe, bevor ich den Checkpunkt ausgelöst hab, dafür kann das Spiel natürlich auch nichts. Mit der Zeit wird es aber besser. Und schwerer. Ich habe das Gefühl, daß die Shotgun ziemlich an Dampf verloren hat, gegenüber HALO3. Und auch die normale UNSC Waffe, die man standardmäßig hat. Dafür ist der Needler und die Carbine der Covenant umso besser. Bilde ich mir zumindest ein. Außerdem sind die Banshees dankbarer zu lenken. Bilde ich mir auch ein.

Wie auch immer, ich hab mich tapfer durchgekämpft unterbrochen durch Oktoberfest- und andere Ausschweifungen. Bis zum Endkampf. Und der hat es wirklich in sich. Am Freitag war ich dann soweit. Ich habe es ca. 5 oder 6 Mal versucht. Meine AI-Kameraden, die mir eigentlich helfen sollten, haben sich als echte Feiglinge geoutet. Wenn ich nicht vorgestürmt wäre und versucht hätte, aufzuräumen, dann säße ich heute noch da. Ich mußte dann allerdings eine Pause machen, sonst wäre der Controller in die sündhaft teure Glotze geflogen. Eine Pause, die ich genutzt habe, um am Bürgerkrieg vorm Feiertag teilzunehmen einkaufen zu gehen. Mit laufender Xbox wohlbemerkt, denn das Spiel hat anscheinend einen Speicherbug. Hin und wieder speichert es nicht korrekt, was dazu führte, daß ich ca. zwei Stunden Spiel an besagtem Freitag nochmal zocken mußte. VERDAMMT!  Und ich wollte nicht riskieren, daß mir das wieder passiert. Von daher – Spiel laufen lassen, pausen, über die Strasse rennen, sich in die Schlange stellen, zurückkommen, Einkäufe aufräumen, von Freunden, mit denen man in einer Party war begrüßt werden mit “na, ausgeschlafen?”, weiterzocken. Und dann – nach dieser Pause - den Endkampf auf Anhieb schaffen. HELL YEAH!

Und nun brauch ich nur noch jemanden, mit dem ich das Ding im Coop auf “Legendary” durchzocke. Fazit: Für die, die HALO lieben ein Muß.

Ach ja – einen Multiplayer hat es nicht, aber es kommt mit einer zweiten Disc, auf der alle HALO3 – Maps drauf sind, d.h. man kann runtergeladene Maps von der Festplatte löschen und so Platz einsparen. Aber: Es hat einen 4-Spieler “Firefight”-Modus, der dem “Horde”-Modus bei “Gears of War” gleichkommt. Ich hab ihn noch nicht angetestet, aber auch das kommt noch. Sicher.

E’ nato da un piccolo gruppo di amici una combriccola appunto che puntualmente ogni sera si ritrovavano per giocare live con la mitica Xbox360, Halo 3, ForzaMotorsport, Call of Duty 4, Fifa, sono solo alcuni.
l’ idea e’ semplice essendosi formato ogni sera un gruppo di giocatori e notando come spesso nella sala d’ aspetto prepartita si finisca con parlare discutere e proporre idee interessanti, creare un luogo dove riportare le proprie conoscenze e esperienze con calma, e farle leggere a tutti, o semplicemente proporre una serata e dare a tutti la possibilita’ di partecipare con una facile organizzazione.
Non si tratta di Clan specifici ma solo di amici che si beccano puntualmente o saltuariamente in live, e anche quando il gruppo magari e’ diviso perche’ gioca su giochi differenti o e’ lontano dal live perche’ ha finito l’ abbonamento puo’ rimanere sempre in contatto e informato

Quindi spero che con questo articolino la nostra combriccola di giocatori sara’ sempre piu’ numerosa.

I picked up my preordered ODST, and I must say I am very impressed. I have already unlocked 2 of the skulls on the new maps, and several 5G achievements. Here are some things you should know:
Comes with TWO disks: One is Campaign and Firefight, one is the FULL HALO 3 MULTIPLAYER. My halo 3 stats were brought over, rankings and all. The only different thing is the new background showing its from ODST. I would highly reccomend this game. Gameplay soon to come.

Endlich halte ich Halo-ODST in meinen Händen, denn Frau Chief hat natürlich auf die UK-Version gewartet. Und da einer der Controller sich mittlerweile anschickt das Zeitliche zu segnen (die A-Taste klebt irgendwie, was nicht wirklich von Vorteil ist), mußte es natürlich die Special Edition mit dem Special- Controller sein. Nun tun sich aber ungeahnte kotzmetische Abgründe auf.

Ihr seht ja selbst, grüner Controller und weißes Chatpad. Sieht irgendwie Scheiße aus, da helfen nicht mal meine neuen hinmodellierten Krallen mit Muster noch was, aber ich kann’s leider nicht ändern. Dafür habe ich nun neun (!) Handbücher, falls ich immernoch nicht weiß, wie ein so ein Controller funktioniert. Zusammen mit den drei (oder vier oder fünf) Handbüchern für das Wireless-Headset kann ich bald einen Handel eröffnen. Vielleicht sollte ich die Dinger auf e-bay… Für Bedürftige, die das ausversehen weggeschmissen haben…?

Und nun hab ich ein weiteres Game, das der Bearbeitung harrt. “Wolfenstein” – noch nicht durch. “Marvel Ult. Alliance 2″ – kaum angefangen. Und nun das. Und bald lauert auch noch “Modern Warfare 2″.

Ich dreh nochmal total durch. Allerdings – falls eine Granate jetzt mal nicht richtig fliegt, kann ich ja nachkratzen.

Aliens, Aliens, Aliens!

I truly wish they had made a feature out of Halo. Having seen District 9 (directed by Neil Blomkamp) I can only imagine what he would have done with this material.
