<title><![CDATA[Yet Another Special Edition Fiat 500]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>There have been plenty of special edition 500s, the Barbie editon (What the hell were they thinking), the 695 Tributo Ferrari. My personal favourite is actually the Hamann tuned 500. Now though, there&#8217;s another special 500.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s called the 500 Abarth SpeedGrey by Neubauer. As the name suggests, it&#8217;s grey, and it&#8217;s been made by a company called Neubauer. This company is the official distributor of the 500 Abarth in France. It&#8217;s based on the Abarth EsseEsse. Now while it looks like an EsseEsse in a grey suit, the changes go beyond the new paintjob, which, by the way, is Maserati grey. To give it a bit more punch, it&#8217;s gotten a new Monza exhaust system. Sadly though, this hasn&#8217;t given it much more power, only 5 extra horses to be exact. They&#8217;ve also given it some Sabelt bucket seats (Though I believe these exact seats are an option on the normal car), though they only weigh 10 kilos less than the standard seats, window tint, and a Blue&#38;Me navigation system. Doesn&#8217;t sound very promising to be honest, they&#8217;ve lost less than 10 kilos (Less than 10 because of the navigation and tint, though those probably shouldn&#8217;t weigh more than a kilo) and gained a measly 5 horsepower.</p>
<p>Nonetheless, I quite like it. Simply because of the paintjob to be honest, as the car looks brilliant in Maserati grey, but I still like it. And even if the performance difference is small, it exists. Problem is, only 10 will be made, and all of them will be sold in the French market.</p>
<p>So then, perhaps Fiat wouldn&#8217;t mind painting a Hamann tuned 500 in Maserati grey for me? Pretty please?</p>

<p>A lot of my friends think Ferrari made a huge mistake by building the California. They say it doesn&#8217;t represent historic Ferrari DNA. I <strong>strongly</strong> disagree. Some of Ferrari&#8217;s most legendary classics were of this same front-engine Grand Touring configuration. Cars like the all-time favorite 250 GTO, the 330 Le Mans Berlinetta and the 500 Superfast.</p>
<p>Moving away from this argument, Hamann Motorsport got their hands on the California and thought they could inject some more oomph into the tourer.</p>

<p>The tuner manages to squeeze some additional power out of the California by revising the engine management program and by replacing the original exhaust with Hamann&#8217;s own sport system. These two upgrades alone will increase the 4.3 liter V8 engine&#8217;s performance by up to 20 percent.</p>

<p>Changes to the exterior consist of a newly designed carbon fiber hood. A front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and a simple rear wing have been been added to aid aerodynamics. To be honest, I&#8217;m not a big fan of the double layered exhaust tips. They remind me of the Lexus IS-F. I would rather have a single outlet than this stacked look.</p>
<p>Hamann have nailed the lowering height with the car looking quite the menace sitting on those black powdercoated rims. Top closed or down? Closed for me. Maybe this Hamann Motorsport version will change the minds of my hating friends.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>As the book &#8216; Springtime for Germany: or How I learned to Love lederhosen&#8217;  discusses, I decided to spend my holidays in Germany. After hiring a car in Düsseldorf, we drove 1800 km around Deutschland, including Hambur, Celler, Braunsweig, Melzungen, and visiting the 2009 edition of the IAA in Frankfurt.</p>
<p>I have been present in the rise of electric and hybrid vehicles between nearly all the main automobile manufacturers and I would like to share the images that have shocked me more. I hope you enjoy them aswell, you have still time to visit the Messe until next weekend.</p>

This Hamann California is probably the first example I have seen where I may be willing to reverse my opinion. Hamann stuff can be iffy occasionally, but they do frequently put out some nice stuff. The only thing I&#8217;d change on this car is the black stuff on the hood, it&#8217;s no good.

<p>Hamann non si concede nemmeno un giorno di riposo tra un&#8217;elaborazione e l&#8217;altra; così ci presenta un piccolo assaggio di quella che sarà la sua prossima rivisitazione della fiammante Ferrari California.</p>

<p>Fin&#8217;ora si tratta solo del nuovo set di cerchi in lega e delle nuove finiture interne.</p>
<p>Per i cerchi sono stati studiati gli Edition Race da 21&#8243; di diametro di colore scuro con una circonferenza bianca tutt&#8217;intorno. Il design delle razze è tipicamente Hamann.</p>
<p>Per gli interni si sa che ogni cliente potrà personalizzare a sui piacimento la sua Ferrari sfruttando le innumerevoli proposte Hamann in questa direzione.</p>
<p>Per ora l&#8217;elaborazione si ferma qui (la carrozzeria e il motore sono come usciti dagli stabilimenti Ferrari) anche se si è quasi sicuri che modifiche meccaniche ed estetiche arriveranno presto.</p>
<p>Staremo a vedere quale tra Edo Competition e Hamann la spunterà nell&#8217;elaborazione della California&#8230;</p>

<p>Nu stiu pe cate stadioane insulare am fost dar <strong>Neil</strong> nu se incurca in zeci, spunandu-mi inca din primele vorbe ca a trecut bine de opt sute. Adica mii de meciuri, aducandu-mi imediat aminte de regretatul Branco Vuin. Neil nu actioneaza insa cu aparatul de fotografiat ci e loial cercului restrans al cutreieratorilor pe cat mai multe terenuri, denumiti <strong>“Groundhopper”</strong>. Hopa de pe o arena pe alta.</p>
<p>L-am remarcat cum schiopata, la intrarea pe <strong>Vale Farm</strong>, terenul lui <strong>Wembley Football Club</strong>, inaintea jocului din runda extrapreliminara a <strong>Cupei Angliei</strong>, cu Basildon United. Mi-a impartasit imediat preferinta sa pentru meciurile din ligi amatoare, cu explicatia de care aminteam in reportajul precedent, ca “<em>aici suntem tratati de la poarta ca fiinte umane si apoi spectatori, si nu ca portofele, cum e cazul in primele esaloane</em>”. Nu l-am contrazis, el fiind mult mai umblat, pana si acum, cu un genunchi “in pioneze” dupa o miuta, accidentare ce l-a impiedicat recent sa asiste la traditionalul amical Wimbledon – FC United of Manchester, ocazie cu care si-ar fi adaugat in palmares prezenta pe arena sud-vest londoneza Kingstonian.</p>
<p>“<em>Te admir ca ai avut curaj sa stai cu ei in peluza</em>”, m-a gratulat Neil, dupa ce i-am spus ca m-am simtit in largul meu intre fanii oaspetei din Manchester, dizidenti ai “marii” United. De ce? “<em>Au fost cei mai acizi la adresa opiniilor mele, dupa ce am scris ca n-am mai vazut asemenea comportament ca al lor in ligile mici, cu ocazia primului joc din istoria lui FC United, cu Leigh RMI. Ce mai scandari… Plus ca i-au stropit cu bauturi alcoolice pe jucatorii adversarei. Am opinat ca asemenea atitudine nu cadreaza cu fotbalul amator</em>”.</p>
<p>Asadar Neil scrie… Cutreieratorul intre doua varste, cu cercel in forma de peste in urechea stanga, si aducand perfect cu un fan inveterat, mi-a explicat ca semneaza sub pseudonim un editorial sub genericul <strong>“Povestile calatorului”</strong>, in revista saptamanala a fotbalului amator din Albion, comentarii de tot felul primindu-le in casuta virtuala. La care scoate din punga si o revista sub acelasi nume, insiruind toate diviziile si cluburile din fotbalul amator, plus tintarul competitional pe 2009-2010.</p>
<p>Cu asemenea “Biblie”, Neil a “coborat” in sfarsit de la Nottingham si pe Vale Park, arena lui Wembley F.C. din preajma marelui Wembley. Pe care, desigur, l-a bifat demult. Ii arat programul de meci, pe ale carei ultime pagini e radiografia facuta sub acelasi generic “Povestile calatorului”, la 6 jocuri la care asista de marti pana sambata, de un anume Brian Buck, prezentat drept un “Groundhopper” senior si abonat anual la Tottenham. Il intreb pe Neil daca e si el cutreierator “senior” si imi arata recordul lui Brian Buck, publicat in aceleasi pagini: 9.373 de jocuri pe 2.837 terenuri vizitate.</p>
<p>De unde pana unde “Groundhopper”? Si aici Neil ma da gata. “<em>Ca abonat al lui Notts County, am mers si in toate deplasarile, si cum intre 1984 si ’91 ne-am plimbat din prima liga intr-a treia si inapoi, am ajuns sa vad arenele destulor profesioniste. Iar in 1997, cand am cazut chiar in esalonul patru, am sfarsit prin a contoriza spre 91, totalul stadioanelor din Premier League plus Football League. Dupa care m-am concentrat sa le vizitez, tot cu County, si pe cele ramase inca nebifate. Am batut astfel lejer suta, datorita numeroaselor promovate peste ani dintre amatoare, in primele 4 ligi. Asa ca in acest nou sezon am de mers doar intr-o deplasare cu Notts County, pe 28 decembrie, la nou-promovata Burton Albion</em>”.</p>
<p>L-am intrebat daca nu merita acum sa se intoarca la statutul de abonat al alb-negrilor “The Magpies”, preluati in iulie de investitorii arabi de la Munto, cu al lor director de fotbal <strong>Sven-Goran Eriksson</strong>. “<em>Am avut destul! Notts e clubul cel mai plimbat intre divizii, cu 12 promovari si 15 retrogradari, iar mai nou intre ligile mici ale profesionismului, plus ajuns la un pas de desfiintare la mijlocul acestui deceniu. Cand am descoperit deliciul de a fi &#60;Groundhopper&#62; pe cat mai multe arene, am imbratisat fotbalul amator. E alta viata… N-as mai fi ca fani ai lui Manchester United care pana si acum isi ocupa sambetele calatorind la Old Trafford. Multi sunt afaceristi din Londra. Altii, de exemplu din Exeter, umplu doua autocare pentru a &#60;taia&#62; o jumatate de tara, pana in Manchester. Lipsiti de imaginatie…</em>”</p>
<p>Odata toate arenele profesionistelor vizitate, cu <strong>Notts County</strong>, Neil s-a axat intr-o buna zi pe meciuri de referinta, ultimele pe stadioane vechi, ce urmau sa fie scoase din circuit, ori inaugurale, pe terenuri noi-noute. “<em>De exemplu am fost peste drum, pe vechiul Wembley, la cantecul de lebada… Anglia – Germania.</em>” Zic Didi Hamann si ma ingana. Joc de referinta i s-a parut si acesta, al lui Wembley F.C., in chiar primul tur al Cupei Angliei. “<em>Acum voi incerca sa merg in fiecare tur pe cate un teren nevizitat…</em>”  </p>
<p>Neil imi spune ca e cat se poate de obiectiv in “pastilele” sale, ferindu-se sa laude fara acoperire, pentru a nu fi ulterior “dovedit” de potentiali alti “Groundhopper”, care, unsi cu toate alifiile, pot face diferenta intre nenumarate terenuri, tribune, atmosfere de meci. Wembley F.C.? “<em>Un calificativ bun. Primitori!</em>”</p>
<p>Auzim la radio ca e Macclesfield 0 – <strong>Notts County</strong> 4, dupa ca in prima etapa “Macalendrii” lui Eriksson o zdrobisera cu 5-0 pe Bradford City, si il intreb daca n-are chiar nici un regret. De la locul 21 in 2008 si 19 in mai, adica la un pas de retrogradarea dintre profesioniste, lidera acum in liga a patra. “<em>M-am bucurat recent, acolo, pe Meadow Lane, la amicalul cu rivala Forest, 2-1 pentru noi, la debutul lui Sven. Dar mai degraba sunt fan al fotbalului amator, in intregul sau, decat al lui County, si – la urma urmei – toti acesti bani noi la profesionism, fie in Premier League, fie la Notts, pot fi retrasi intr-o buna zi. Tocmai au pompat peste 5.000 lire pe saptamana in salariul noului varf Lee Hughes, enorm pentru liga a patra, ca de, are cota, dar tocmai asemenea contracte pe &#60;plimbareti&#62; ne-au dus pe buza falimentului. Deci…</em>”</p>
<p>Deci Neil cu cutreieratul sau, spre “cota” 1.000 si pe urmele “seniorului” Buck, iar Notts County sub bagheta lui Sven, incercand intr-un cincinal sa redea stralucirea celui mai in etate club profesionist din lume. Da. Fondat in 1862, County e mai vechi decat federatia engleza, infiintata in 1863, si participant la prima editie de campionat din istoria fotbalului, clasandu-se pe 11 din 12 cluburi, in 1889. E drept, un unic trofeu major, Cupa Angliei, in secolul XIX, dar clubul care va aniversa la anul centenarul pe vechea arena Meadow Lane se poate lauda cu admirabilul rol de esantion pentru alb-negrul vertical al “Batranei Doamne” Juventus…</p>

<p>The Hamann BMW X6 programme offers a car which does not only have the characteristics of an SUV, but also of a sports coupé. As a certified specialist for sport accessories, Hamann-Motorsport is especially focusing on the driving dynamics segment of this Crossover model. For this reason, the technicians are refining the aerodynamics, motor and running gear. The modifications turn the BMW X6 into an automobile which makes nearly every wish come true as far as performance is concerned. But the Laupheim-based refiner can do even more: an extensive interiorand rim-programme completes the X6 refinement and makes the automobile stand out against the vast number of other upper class SUVs.</p>
<p>Inspiring torque enhancement</p>
<p>The range of Hamann performance enhancement is as manifold as the choice of BMW motors. Thus, the technology specialist equips the X6 xDrive35i with a motor performance of 360 hp / 265 kW at 5,230 rpm. At the same time, the maximum torque rises by 140 Nm to 540 Nm within the speed range from 1,300 to 5,000 rpm. Thereby, Hamann also suspends the 250 km/h limit and allows an impressive speed of 275 km/h. The Diesel version is also provided with extra power. After re-programming the serial motronics, the xDrive30d renders 265 hp / 195 kW and draws a maximum torque of 600 Nm to the crankshaft. The motor version xDrive35d turns into an enormously powerful sprinter as well. The engineers from Laupheim were able to tease 320 hp / 235 kW and a sensational torque of 660 Nm at 2,000 rpm out of the self-igniting engine. Moreover, the sport mufflers by Hamann-Motorsport are adjusted to the various performance kits. The product range does not only offer a double-pipe, but also a four-pipe system which renders a sonorous and earthy sound.</p>
<p>Fascinating design is matched with functional aerodynamics</p>
<p>The exclusive Hamann auto body programme renders an optimal airflow over the car silhouette. The body kit consists of a sportive and energetic front skirt with integrated LED daytime running lights, a three-part rear casing and an attractive roof spoiler. For additional output on the rear axle, the customer can either opt for a small restrained or large and prominent rear spoiler. According to customer specifications, the BMW specialist can also replace the serial bonnet with an ultra-light carbon version.</p>
<p>Rims in ultra format</p>
<p>Single- or multi-part, sportive and striking or elegant and noble &#8211; Hamann offers a wide range of wheel designs in different sizes. The ultimate rim is a 23-inch version called Design Edition Race Anodized for the X6 wheel arches. The ultra-light forged wheel combines power and elegance. The black varnished rim star and the titanium bolting both emphasise the dynamics of the wheel. The highly polished rim flange on the other hands implies a noble appearance. Hamann offers the 23-inch wheel with tyres measuring 315/25R23 from 9,385 euros.</p>
<p>The new aluminium wheels with special running gear springs are perfectly put into focus. Thereby, progressively coiled springs lower the SUV´s center of gravity by maximally 40 mm at the front- and rear axle.</p>
<p>Perfected technology for the interior</p>
<p>In addition to the consisting serial interior equipment, Hamann offers accessories made of high-quality aluminium. Pedals and foot rests render motorsports flair and perfectly match the 12-part Hamann decoration set made of carbon fibre. An instrument dial with a scaling up to 300 km/h and a three-spoke sport steering wheel render an additional energetic overall impression.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Corporate Websites: Not Enough, but Not Irrellevant]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Are corporate websites a thing of the past? I don&#8217;t think so.</p>
<p>But that&#8217;s the headline of <a href="http://www.headshift.com/blog/2009/05/your-corporate-website-is-irre.php">a recent post </a>by <a href="http://www.cybersoc.com/more-about-robin-hamman.html">Robin Hamann</a> of <a href="http://www.headshift.com/about/overview.php">Headshift</a>. Robin knows social media inside out. He used to be the BBC&#8217;s blogging guru (in fact, it was at one of his sessions that inspired me to start this blog up).</p>
<p>I think that he&#8217;s right on the money at the start of his post:</p>
<blockquote><p>Increasingly, if someone wants to find out more about you or your brand they&#8217;ll seek out the  honest, authentic views being shared by their friends and others online rather than visiting a corporate propaganda site.</p>
<p>The only people who visit your website are people who already know about your ideas, products or service. What it doesn&#8217;t do is reach out to new audiences who don&#8217;t know about you.</p></blockquote>
<p>Quite true &#8211; to attract new users to your site you either need excellent SEO or an active social media strategy.</p>
<blockquote><p>In the current financial climate, it makes more sense than ever to scale back the effort put into creating a traditional, silo like web presence and start thinking about using the whole web as your canvas.</p></blockquote>
<p>Well put. It&#8217;s arrogant to assume they&#8217;ll come to you &#8211; more effective to go where they are already, talking about what it is you do. You make widgets? Go to the world&#8217;s biggest widget blog/forum/discussion site, and get involved in the discussion there in an honest way. Users will respect you if you&#8217;re authentically engaged with them. Everyone likes being listened to &#8211; it&#8217;s a sign of respect.</p>
<p>But is your core website irellevant? I don&#8217;t think so. The examples Robin cites &#8211; a <a href="http://www.maratriangle.org/">team of park rangers in Kenya</a> and an <a href="http://">environmental web site</a> &#8211; both have great social media strategies. But they also have core sites with simple, recognizable URLs that lead users to a homepage.</p>
<p>True, these pages are quite different from the &#8217;silo&#8217; pages of the 90&#8217;s &#8211; more than anything, they&#8217;re a center of gravity for the many strands of social interaction that these brands have spun off across the web.</p>
<p>Those hompeages would once have been the sum total of a company&#8217;s web presence &#8211; now they&#8217;re just the bit that ties it all together. But they&#8217;re there, and they have a crucial role in shaping the identity of a company, organisation or person.</p>
<p>Online, I&#8217;d say, an organisation needs to be seen and heard in all the right places &#8211; Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, or wherever the conversation is happening. More importantly, it needs to be <em>paying attention</em> in all these places. But every organisation also needs a place of its own.</p>
<p>I agree with the ethos of Robin&#8217;s post, but I wouldn&#8217;t count on the death of the corporate web site, just yet.</p>

<p>Thời gian gần đây, phong trào chơi xe thể thao ở nước ta phát triển nhanh, điển hình là những chiếc siêu xe của các thương hiệu lừng danh trên thế giới như: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes SLR… đã lần lượt xuất hiện tại Việt Nam. Để giữ sự độc đáo của chiếc siêu xe, lần đầu tiên tại Việt Nam, chủ nhân của chiếc Lamborghini Gallardo Special Edition đã độ lại body kit.</p>

Chiếc Lamborghini Gallardo trước khi gắn bodykit</p>
<p>Lamborghini Gallardo phiên bản đặc biệt (SE) cập cảng Việt Nam vào tháng 12/2007. Đây là chiếc thứ 249 trên tổng số 250 chiếc của thế giới. Con xe này cũng là một trong 3 chiếc Gallardo tại Sài Gòn. Để tránh sự nhầm lẫn với hai chiếc còn lại, chủ của chiếc Gallardo SE đã quyết định độ lại chiếc xe của mình và muốn đây sẽ là chiếc siêu xe được độ đầu tiên tại VN.</p>
<p>Đối với một siêu xe thì việc độ lên phần body của nó quả là một chuyện không đơn giản. Vì vậy chủ xe đã thông qua đối tác Wit Tuning tại Sài Gòn nhờ tư vấn, đặt hàng và nhập về một bộ bodykit chính hãng Hamann từ Đức về. Dù bộ body kit này có giá tương đương với một chiếc xe hạng nhỏ tại VN, nhưng với niềm đam mê, chủ xe đã không ngần ngại.</p>

Bộ kit của chính hãng Hamann từ Đức</p>
<p>Bộ body kit gồm cản trước, cản sau, đuôi cá, chụp ống xả và 2 nẹp lườn (side skirt). Các công đoạn lắp ráp đều bằng tay. Mỗi phần của bộ body đều có sách hướng dẫn, ốc vít, keo dán của chính hãng Hamann kèm theo mà không sử dụng bất cứ nguyên liệu nào khác.</p>
<p>Bộ body kit nhập về lần này được làm bằng chất liệu carbon, chất liệu mà hiện nay được áp dụng triệt để trên các xe đua F1 vì độ bền và nhẹ của sản phẩm. Hiện nay sản phẩm được làm bằng sợi carbon trên thế giới chỉ đứng sau sản phẩm được làm bằng sợi Kevlar (sợi chuyên dùng làm áo chống đạn, áo giáp). Vì bằng chất liệu sợi carbon nên không cần phải sơn lại vì bộ body kit đã có sẵn màu đặc trưng của carbon.</p>

<p>Sau một tuần “nằm ổ”, chiếc Lamborghini Gallardo SE đã khoác lên mình một dáng vẻ khác biệt: Cản trước và sau được hạ thấp khiến khoảng sáng gầm thấp hơn 3cm so với các chiếc cùng loại; nẹp lườn cùng cánh lướt gió là điểm nhấn đặc biệt với thiết kế đặc trưng của hãng Hamann.</p>

<p>Wit Tuning cho biết thời gian tới có thể chiếc Lamborghini Gallardo SE này sẽ được độ nội thất carbon, thay bộ mâm chính hãng và sơn lại màu trắng cho giống nguyên mẫu của Hamann. Chi phí cho phần còn lại này ước tính sẽ không ít hơn so với bộ body kit.</p>

<p>The 535d is tuned to an increase increase of power to 319 HP/235 kW. The maximum torque of 487 ft-lbs makes it possible to get impressive in-gear performance figures. It accelerates 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds instead of the standard 6.5 seconds with a top speed &#8211; HAMANN removes the Vmax governor &#8211; increased to 171 mph. </p>
