Nintendo’s revised edition of the Nintendo DSi has gone down a storm with Japanese gamers as sales of the Nintendo DSi LL topped 100,553 units during its first couple of days on sale in Japan.

Weekly figures from tracking firm Media Create now show three different versions of Nintendo’s popular DS handheld: DSi LL, DSi, and the DS Lite. Total sales for the DS line during the week were 137,674 units. The DSi LL figures align closely with numbers recently released by research firm Enterbrain.

The DSi LL handily topped sales of PlayStation 3, which have been solid since the console’s price reduction and hardware form factor revamp. PS3 led hardware charts in the two week prior to this week. Last week, PS3 and its handheld counterpart PSP together led the hardware charts.

The market has many choices for vacuum cleaners each with a multitude of choice in features. A lot o

The market has many choices for vacuum cleaners each with a multitude of choice in features. A lot of people buy the first vacuum that looks halfway decent, because they don’t like vacuum cleaner shopping and want to spend their money, vacuum cleaner, on things that seem more exciting. There are various types of vacuums in the market and each of them has their pros and cons. The first place to start is by learning about the different basic models of vacuums that are out there, so I’ve included a brief introduction to each in the paragraphs below.

Upright Vacuums

Most companies that sell upright vacuum cleaners offer very similar accessories and claim the same benefits. Upright vacuum cleaners normally having a motor, bag as well as a hose & beater in a single unit. Vacuum cleaners with wheels offer ease of movement throughout the areas of each room in your home. Expect to pay as much as five hundred dollars for a quality vacuum cleaner but the average cost is about a couple hundred dollars. Carpeted floors as well as wood floors can be cleaned well by use of an upright vacuum cleaner, particularly if the appliance has different, vacuum cleaner, height settings. Upright vacuum cleaners often are equipped with extensions to the hose and wand, but most cannot easily deal, vacuum cleaner, with closets and cannot work well on stairwells.

Bagless Vacuums

The benefit of a bagless vacuum cleaner is that you can see what has been picked up and are less likely to forget to empty out the collection cup. Once the dirt meets the fill line, it’s time for emptying the cup. If notSome vacuum cleaners require that you clean or replace their filters periodically. Emptying the dirt cup itself could be a messy process based upon your vacuum cleaner. Dust often billows out of the cup, or you will actually have to shake or pull out compressed dirt collected at the base of the container, vacuum cleaner, . You will be able to find something that should not have been vacuumed simply by emptying the collection cup.

Canister Vacuums

Canister vacuum cleaners, with a long hose and canister containing a motor and bag, make a good choice for hardwood floors, vertical surfaces, curtains, and steps. If you have a hardwood floor, you should consider buying a canister vacuum since they excel in picking things up from wooden surfaces. Some, vacuum cleaner, vacuums are smaller and movable or include beater attachments then upright vacuum cleaner.A Canister vacuum cleaner and some upright ones deposit dust and debris into a container rather than a vacuum bag. These hard bag vacuum cleaners, which also known as bagless vacuum cleaners, customarily include HEPA filters that better remove dirt particles, dust, pollen, and dander from the air passing through the vacuum cleaner and make a good choice for homes with allergy sufferers.

Stick Vacuums

Those who face trouble in maneuvering a full sized vacuum and for those who lives in lofts with hard surfaces, Stick vacuum are best choice. Rollers and beaters are omitted from stick vacuum cleaners, which are otherwise similar to upright models. Vacuum cleaner like the Eureka broom vacuum cleaners and dirt devil broom vacuum cleaners, perform well on hardwood flooring, furniture, curtains, hard-to-reach locations, and in tight spaces. Many of the more compact “stick” vacuums use a removable cup instead of a bag to hold what’s being pulled off the floor. The smaller motors, vacuum cleaner, additionally don’t require as much energy as their larger counterparts in the vacuum arena, and many units are cordless.

Handheld Vacuum Cleaners

A hand held vacuum can be whipped out to quickly dispose of a small mess. Many people enjoy the convenience of a handheld vacuum for smaller messes. Handheld vacuum cleaners have most of the same, vacuum cleaner, features.

RoboticCleaners

Robotic, vacuum cleaner, vacuum cleaners are the latest trend used for the vacuum cleaning process. They save some time, hassle as well as some work. Robotic vacuums have built in dirt sensors that help guide their motion. The heads on the robotic vacuum cleaners are adjustable, vacuum cleaner, for the various heights of carpet and for hardwood floors. Most of them are available with side brushes for washing, vacuum cleaner, the edges of the room and around furniture. Most vacuum cleaners have a bagless system and there the emptying out the collection, vacuum cleaner, area is easy.

Roombas and other self-guided vacuums may seem like attractive options, because they appear to require little work on your part, but there are some problems that you should think about before buying, vacuum cleaner, one. These vacuums are a mixed bag, so to speak, because they are not very thorough at cleaning. Some of them also tended to, vacuum cleaner, close doors behind them, having themselves locked in a room.

Central Installed Vacuums

Instead of hauling the motor and cleaning bag around behind you, look into adding, vacuum cleaner, a centralized vacuum, like an Imperium central vacuum, Kenmore or a Beam centralized cleaning system.

Central vacuum system has pipes in the walls which get connected to a tough motor in some area like the closet or the, vacuum cleaner, garage. Whenever you want to clean any room, attach a vacuum tube to one out of the 3 or 4 inlets set apart all over your house and permit the ducts to collect the filth and trash in the motor and sack. The process is so quiet since the motor is not near but is in a remote area.

You may be tempted to purchase a central vacuum, but you should be aware that, vacuum cleaner, they cost way more than a canister or upright vacuum, and you may have to hire someone to install it as well. The main benefit is that they are easier to use than a canister. You only have to carry the hose and powerhead, and there is no vacuum body that you need to pull along. While quiet in comparison, central vacuums require less emptying.

Carpet Steamers and Shampooers

Steam vacuums,, vacuum cleaner, such as Hoover and Bissell carpet steamers, utilize hot water and soap to deep-clean carpets. Carpet steamers feature a tank that holds water, soap and dirt, but beyond that, they look a lot like vacuum cleaners. The carrying handles make them easy to move and empty. Carpet steamers have multiple revolving heads instead of beaters, that agitate the dirt out of the carpet and make the cleaning solution get deeper into, vacuum cleaner, the nap. The suction of a vacuum cleaner is what picks up dust from your carpeting. Some carpet cleaners have a spray to focus on the dirtiest of areas.. If your carpet is really dirty and looks like it has greasy residue on it, a vacuum cleaner may not be, vacuum cleaner, enough to make your carpet look respectable again, so you should consider a carpet shampooer. After the shampoo has dried the rug can be vacuumed. If you use a carpet cleaner your rugs will be far cleaner than if you just vacuumed them.

Garmin Colorado 400t Handheld GPS Unit with U.S. Topographic Preloaded Maps Review

Was very happy initially with the unit when it arrived but quickly found out that the included user manual is pretty much worthless. I tried to find any additional user information from Garmin and nothing in book form is currently available. I did find out about a company called Bennett Marine Video that has a DVD’s for almost every GPS unit and one specifically for the Colorado 300 and 400 series GPS. Not sure exactly what it contains but it is the only aftermarket product that contains more info than what’s in the user manual. Also have noticed some issues with accuracy on this unit initially while doing some geocaching with my son locally. Had problems getting the thing to stabilize and quit bouncing around. Also had some accuracy problems when using it while snowshoeing in the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness area in Colorado. It would not lock onto the trail I was supposed to be following and I ended up totally losing the trail. This was a bit more than an inconvience when you are hiking in 5 to 10 feet of snow and cannot see the trail. I have become more familiar with its features and have done some communicating with Garmin support, have uploaded the 24K Topo series maps and upgraded the operating system software to the the new beta version and it seems to be a little more accurate. Will be testing it out again in the Rockies in a few weeks and see if accuracy in the mountains has gotten better. I like many of the features, like being able to add or remove shortcuts from the main screen and only have the ones you really need displayed. The battery life is great with 2700ma NiMH batteries and I have not had any problems with viewing the display in bright sunlight. The backlight is also great in poor lighting conditions. I would highly recommend investing in a screen protector. It’s cheap insurance and they are easily replaced. I did find out that the built in thermometer not very accurate displaying the ambient air temperature probably due to the insulating effect of the GPS body. The bottom line I guess the best way to learn about this beast is just keep playing with it until someone puts together a decent manual. Will update this review once I finish my next wilderness trek and see how the accuracy does with the new maps and updated software.

Garmin GPS 60CSx Handheld GPS Navigator Review

I am a volunteer in the search and rescue unit in Arizona. In our unit alone, we have 4 of the Garmin 60 csx and more volunteers will be adding this unit to their personal gear. We have found the 60 csx easy to program and be able to follow inputed waypoints easily. The screen is easy to view at a distance. It is extremely useful on the trackback feature after finding a lost subject and be able to follow the route back to base. It seems to be a rugged unit and so far and has stood up to some harsh road, weather, and trail travels. The signal strength is very good in canyons and under trees. The time after turn on to navigate is quicker then most other units I have used. I wish that Garmin would offer a TOPO map for state by state,as I have the Mountain West – South reigon and it is not detailed enough to show the FR roads we frequently have to travel.

You can use the 60CSx’s memory card slot with preprogrammed microSD cards from Garmin (sold separately) that provide topographic maps, city streets, and nautical charts. In fact, the unit is compatible with most Garmin MapSource products including BlueChart, City Navigator, U.S. Topo 24K, and U.S. Topo and Recreational Lakes with Fishing Hot Spots. The unit comes preloaded with an Americas autoroute basemap that provides automatic routing capabilities including highways, exits, and tide data. There’s also a preloaded marine point database. You can even get turn-by-turn directions when you’re driving, and an integrated trip computer provides odometer, stopped time, moving average, overall average, total time, max speed, and more.

The 60CSx’s 2.6-inch, 256-color TFT color display is designed to present mapping and trip information clearly and accurately in any lighting conditions. Plus, the case is lightweight, rugged, and water resistant to IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (can be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes). When using two AA alkaline batteries, you’ll get up to 20 hours of battery life from the unit. The unit’s barometric altimeter system features automatic pressure trend recording while providing current elevation, ascent/descent rate, minimum/maximum elevation, total ascent and descent, and average and maximum ascent and descent rate. Meanwhile, the electronic compass allows you to get accurate headings while standing still.

Another key feature of the 60CSx is the 10,000 point automatic track log; 20 saved tracks (500 points each) let you retrace your path in both directions. There’s also a large-numbers option for easy viewing, as well as a dual-position display mode.

The 60CSx’s trip computer provides odometer, stopped time, moving average, overall average, total time, max speed, and more. Meanwhile, a fast processor allows the 60CSx to provide quick auto-routing, turn-by-turn directions, and audio alerts when you use the optional MapSource software, which can be stored on the unit’s included 64 MB microSD card. Downloading information is quick with the USB or serial port interfaces. Using the dedicated serial port, the 60Cx can share navigation instructions with repeaters, plotters, and autopilots. The four-position rocker pad and dedicated high-use buttons make navigating through the unit’s features easy, even when your fingers are cold or wet.

Finally, the GPSMap 60CSx is packed with some extra fun features. An integrated outdoor calendar provides ideal hunting and fishing times, plus moon rise/set/location information. There is a dedicated geocaching mode for those of you into the hot GPS community treasure hunt game. Finally, there are indoor/outdoor GPS games to help you and your friends enjoy the outdoors.

If you like the features of the 60CSx, but don’t need an electronic compass and a barometric altimeter, check out the Garmin 60Cx.

What’s in the Box
60CSx unit, 64 MB microSD card, belt clip, USB interface cable, MapSource Trip and Waypoint Manager CD, lanyard, owners manual, and quick-start guide.

This year, Sacramento Public Library, my employer, is breaking out 2.0 tools and services big-time.

This year, Sacramento Public Library, my employer, is breaking out 2.0 tools and services big-time. Like most large organizations, it took the library a long time to acknowledge the sea-change and mobilize its staff. The library is now tweeting, has a Facebook fan page, a blog – and that’s just the library; some staff are also doing all those things individually, as well!

Part of our ongoing effort to remain relevant in a more independent – yet social – environment is offering computer classes for our library patrons. These are always popular and often filled to capacity. It doesn’t seem to matter much what we offer, people will sign up for everything! Most government services, employment applications, shopping sites, and travel sites now require people to communicate via a web site and have an e-mail address. We are helping our patrons to acquire these services and skills in order to remain functional.

The next big change will be library services delivered to mobile devices: your library on your cell phone, so to speak. to that end, there’s a new mobile interface under development, and we are participating in a text reference pilot.

I’m helping to plan the second Handheld Librarian Conference, scheduled for February 2010. This two-day online conference sponsored by Alliance Library System and Learning Times will feature keynote speakers and panels addressing all things mobile as they relate to libraries. The first conference was amazing!, and this one will be even better! In prep, I’m looking at all kinds of mobile services and mobile apps offered by libraries for their patrons and staff - it’s like a smaller, parallel universe! One that is growing very fast as more people switch to their handhelds with the expectation of getting good service.

Dragonball Z Buu's Fury

Mega Drive Collection (PSP)

Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow

The Legend of Zelda - The Minish Cap

Nintendo promised to roll out their 4.2-inch screen iteration of the Nintendo DS thus named Nintendo

Nintendo promised to roll out their 4.2-inch screen iteration of the Nintendo DS thus named Nintendo DSi LL on November 21 and so they did. Last Saturday, the handheld consoles were let loose to eager Japanese upgraders.

I admit I just recently converted from mainly playing with my PSP to owning a DS Lite and I chose the DS Lite over the DSi for a couple of reasons:

Camera’s not worth the Php4,000 price difference

There’s really not much difference that I’d miss between the DSi and the DS Lite which is primarily the camera and the larger screen

I don’t surf with my handheld consoles. That’s what the iPod Touch is for.

So would I be bothered to get the DSi LL when it hits Philippine shores? Nope. It’s going to be nearly twice the size the DS Lite and size was one of my issues with the PSP (but unwilling to give up the screen real-estate, I didn’t bother with the PSP Go either ). I’m also not sure if the games designed for the DS Lite and DSi would fit the larger screen of the LL or that we’d just be staring at games with larger pixels. But if at some point there are way too many good games exclusively released for the LL screen size and resolution that it’s stupid not to upgrade, then maybe I’ll fork over my money to get one. But until then, I’m sticking to Wadsworth.

They are back!

1000 of kids were feeding, playing and killing them everyday and now they are back! The Tamagotchi!

The new Tamagotchi ID from Bandai actually looks exactly like the old one, with the difference that it is equipped with a 1.44 inch colour screen. You will be able to purchase it from the 23rd of November on only in Japan for a price of 38 euros. They will be available in six different colours: pink, blue, white, yellow, green and purple. On top of that they’ve got a great feature: You can by new accessories, rare items and mini games over your cell phone and transfer them via infra-red to your Tamagotchi.

I think it’s a fantastic idea, but what cellphone still supports infra-red? What about Bluetooth or WiFi? I think Bandai overslept the trend. Specially in Japan where they have the latest generation of cellphones I really doubt that there are a lot of cellphones left with infra-red.

Our cellphones are powerful enough to play any kind of simulation and there are all sorts of games you can by just for a few euros. What’s the point of buying a Tamagotchi?

Bandai probably focuses on children and therefore it’s ok. Kids are going to be happy with this product, specially now that your pet is in colour. If you want to get a few more informations about these cute little pets you should read this article.

The Tamagotchis even have their own TV-Show on you tube. Of course produced by Bandai!

Sonic has come a long way over the years, and to be honest, his age is starting to show. Back in his hay day Sonic was the man, and at one point, was outselling Mario. Now-a-days, however, he’s starting to lose his speed and Mario’s been keeping young. In his 16 bit days Sonic was on top of the world, and now he’s scratching and clawing his way to stay in the game. Sonic has even resorted to teaming up with Mario in gimmicky Wii Olympic party games just to stay on the radar. What follows is a timeline (and collection) of a handful of Sonic games that I’ve played over the years. This isn’t a complete collection of all his games because, trust me, he has a lot of games out there for many consoles and systems. This is more of a “best of” collection, if you will (excluding the newest ones—i.e. the current-gen games, they’re just necessary to include). I’ve played all the games in this list and I’m a long-time Sonic fan. This list just go to show you how long the blue blur has been around, how far he’s come, and how much he’s far he’s fallen.

Sonic the Hedgehog

On the Sega console –The originator, the supposed “Mario Killer”. The best foot forward for Sega and a classic game every video game fan has or should play.

1992

Sonic 2

The second installment on the Sega Gensis. This was the first game we get to meet Sonic’s sidekick/mechanic Miles “Tails” Prower (a pun of miles per hour)

1993

Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Beam Machine

The Sonic Team’s attempt at a puzzle game. It’s essentially Puyo Puyo.

Sonic Spinball

Like the name suggests this is a Sonic pinball game. Don’t be fooled though, it’s hard.

Sonic 3

Like the Mario franchise, the third installment is arguably the best of the series. This is the first game players are able to take control of Tails (our first taste of co-op play in the Sonic series).

1994

Sonic & Knuckles

This is not only a full fledged game but it’s also an add-on to the previous Sonic games. You could actually plug one of the 3 previous games into the top of this cartridge. This is also the first game we actually get to play as Knuckles.

1995

Sonic CD

This game was for the PC and has the best intro to any Sonic game that I can remember. The intro was a quick animated short with a great song overtop. The game play stuck to the classic 2D Sonic we’re familiar with.

Knuckles Chaotix

This game was for the short lived Sega 32x (32x was like the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge but it up’d the graphics from 16bit to 32 on the Sega Gensis) Sonic wasn’t in this game but I actually owned this game so I figured I’d mention it.

1996

Sonic 3D Blast

This was the first 3D Sonic game and it was on the Gensis. This game was a failure, I suppose you could call this foreshadowing?

1997

Sonic R

This was the first Sonic Racing game, this game was also somewhat of a failure (but then again so was the Sega Saturn). 3D Sonic has a harder time with games than the 2D one.

1999

Sonic Adventure

This is how you make a 3D Sonic game. This was the staple game for the newly released Dreamcast system (at the time). This game was epic—I loved this game.

2000

Sonic Shuffle

Sega is always trying to do what Mario does, so this was Sega trying to cash in on the Mario Party series. Mario Party had 7 sequels, Sonic Shuffle has none—I wonder why? (hint: it sucked)

2001

Sonic Adventure 2

The previous game did so well, why not make another. Shadow the hedgehog was first introduced in this game. The game met with mixed reviews but personally I enjoyed the hell out of it. I’m still waiting for Sonic Adventure 3 to be honest with you.

2004

Sonic Heroes

This may be harsh but I feel like every 3D Sonic game from here on out were more or less terrible. Sega quit the console business and just stuck to making games so this game was a multiplatform release (Xbox and PS2). You took control of 3 characters at once, switching between the 3 throughout. There was multiple teams to choose from but this gimmick, unfortunately, didn’t help this game.

2006

Sonic the Hedgehog

This is Sonic’s first step into the current generations of consoles. This game was terribly frustrating. The load times in this game were torturous and Sonic made out with a human. Just because an animal can talk doesn’t mean it’s ok to let them kiss humans (especially in a game for kids). Just like bestiality, this game is just wrong.

2007

Sonic and the Secret Rings

This is the first game that game out with the new Wii Nintendo System. Just like most of the games for the Wii, this game is just one big gimmick. Just because I have to waggle some dumb controller rather than press a button doesn’t make this some new fresh Sonic game. To be fair through, this game wasn’t as terrible as the aforementioned one, so it’s not that bad of a game considering.

2008

Sonic Unleashed

This is the latest game release for Sonic and maybe the weirdest. I hear this game did well with a younger audience (which is who they make these games for) but I’m a little ashamed of this game. It’s hard to sell the same game to people so usually developers try to through something new into the mix to spice things up. In this game Sonic turned into a warehog with stretchy arms at night. I don’t have much else to say about this game, it’s absurdity leaves me speechless.

November is a beautiful month for many reasons. The season is sliding from heat waves to cold weather, providing us moments to snuggle up with a warm drink and watch a movie on TV that, during any other time of the year, we wouldn’t even dream of watching. November also encourages us to reflect on family, friends, opportunity, love and all other things to be thankful for.

We, even on our worst day, are privileged. We have so much to be thankful for- whether it be cars, bikes, or transit that take us from one place to another, family and friends to support and encourage us to accomplish what we have in our sights, entertainment to busy us when we need a break from the every day business of life.

Concern Worldwide asks, “What if for just one day you said, “No, thank you,” to extras and meals out and donated the money you saved to hunger relief and prevention?

It’s a surprising statistic, but the average person wastes 14 percent of their food on a daily basis. Here’s another surprising statistic for you: just 5 percent of what we don’t use—or truly need—would be enough to feed 4 million hungry people for a day.”

Concern has started the Empty Plate Campaign in hopes of providing relief to millions of hungry mouths. Think about it, pack a lunch to bring to work instead of spending 10 bucks going out. You can donate that $10 to the Empty Plate Campaign and help feed millions. If you are on Facebook, you can add the Empty Plate Campaign cause and tell your whole network about this wonderful cause.

Creative Labs has partnered with Concern Worldwide US by providing Vado HD pocket cameras to help share their cause, their progress, and their stories with the rest of the world. In using the Vado HD cameras, Concern has the ability to easily film high quality videos while out in the field. The videos allow them to help grow the amount of people participating in the cause by making videos for the rest of the world to see.

Please watch the two videos below to get a better insight into Concern and Creative’s fight to provide international hunger relief. This holiday season, give thanks for all you have by giving to those who have less.
Darren Disaronno. Some call him a maverick, others a renegade. A few people have called him an enigma. One guy took it a step further, called him a maverick wrapped in a renegade and deep fried in enigma oil. Whatever you call him, Darren DiSaronno is a legend.

Hailed as the “action film visionary of our time”, Darren got his training making motion pictures on the streets, exploding onto the scene with his directorial debut, Operation Eagle Tears, at the age of 19. Other films include The Human Missile Crisis, Playa Del Spice, Confidant and Confidant 2: Overconfidant. His current project, Red Harbor, was shot exclusively on Creative Labs’ Vado HD Pocket Camera.

Luckily for us, we have three episodes of behind the scenes footage from Red Harbor. This series has cult classic written all over it, and Facebook fans have already taken to tattooing their bosoms and buttocks with Darren DiSarrono quotes. Powerful stuff.

In episode one, we are introduced to the characters of Lance Badhouse, Officer Dan and their criminal nemesis, Red Snapper. Get a firsthand look at Darren Disaronno’s directorial techniques that ignite his scenes with raw intensity. This one man filmmaker machine will leave you speechless…

In the second episode of Red Harbor: Behind the Scenes, the dynamic cop duo of Lance Badhouse and Officer Dan continue their investigation into Red Snapper, the head of the Chinese mafia in Los Angeles. Darren Disaronno demonstrates why he is such a great filmmaker as he blurs the line between reality and film. This journey into the underworld will take a toll and Officer Dan will pay the ultimate price.

In this third and final episode of Red Harbor: Behind the Scenes, we witness Darren Disaronno at his best…and his worst. The fired-up filmmaker stretches the philosophy of “method acting” as he becomes immersed in the character of Lance Badhouse and obliterates the line between right and wrong in his quest for revenge for the death of his partner, Officer Dan.

It only took one look to hook us. Three episodes later we are all begging for more.

I haven’t had much time for video games as of late what with college, my full-time job, and whatnot but it’s video game season. November is the month most companies reserve for their big titles, and rightly so because it’s the month all the mothers do their holiday shopping. Luckily for me, however, the stars and planets have aligned or some magical force is at work and I’ve had some time to actually play video games this month so here’s what I’ve been playing this week:

New Super Mario Brothers Wii. I tired getting this game at midnight on Saturday/Sunday at Wal-Mart but my god was that a nightmare. I ended up waiting till Sunday to buy it and I made a day out of it. I brought my Wii over to my friends house and we had a good 4 player game. Mario with 4 players on the screen at once is pure mayhem! Even when you’re playing cooperatively you end up causing your friends to die by accident constantly. For example: You and a friend will both go to jump over a gap only since you’re behind him your jump is slightly above his causing you to then jump off your friend’s head midway through the gap effectively killing him. Once you get passed that little frustration, it’s a blast. The game gets progressively more difficult and I don’t recommend playing the whole game with 4 players because it’s hard enough solo and adding more players seems to just make the level harder on you (especially if the people you play with don’t know how to play Mario).

Like the rest of the world I’m also playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I’ve been playing this game a little less because of some monetary issues with my Xbox Live account. Since I don’t Xbox Live as of a couple days ago I haven’t been able to play multiplayer too much (other than the first day or two I had the game) but I dove into the single player. Not having multiplayer, however, makes me want to play Mario more but I have played the first few mission of Call of Duty’s single player campaign and it’s hard (sure I have the difficulty on Hardened which is just under Veteran, the hardest difficultly). The game is absolutely gorgeous and the production value of this game has improved. This game is on the top of everyone’s list and it’s the must have game this holiday season and rightfully so this game offers a solid single player and multiplayer experience. If you’re a hardcore multiplayer fan then there’s no doubt you’re already working your way up the ranks in this game, and if you’re not you should be. Having said that I still think the game is over hyped, but everything is now-a-days.

On the none video game side (but still a game) I’ve been playing Trouble a lot lately. Let me just say this about trouble: It’s awesome! I haven’t played much of Trouble when I was kid but I wish I did. The past week or so me and my friends have been battling in this game having a blast, so much so that I’m tempted to tape these hilarious epic games. You’d have no idea we were playing a simple children’s game if you were listening to us screaming, yelling, and laughing in the other room. If you have 3 good friends I suggest you try playing an intense game of Trouble and see what I’m talking about and what you’re missing. Just remember to trust no one!

“Activision’s attempt to reach out to a younger, more casual rhythm gaming audience may send an uneasy shudder down the spines of some in the hardcore Guitar Hero crowd, but the scores of tweens and teeny boppers that will surely flock to Band Hero and find themselves hooked on the experience means more money in the bank. Band Hero on the DS isn’t nearly as drenched in pink glitter and mindless pre-teen slang as its console brethren. That’s not a bad thing. However, this ill-fated rock-n-roll ship springs some fatal leaks early on in its voyage.”

The game seems like leagues above its predecessor, in terms of story pacing, enemies, etc. Seems like the people at Renegade Kid took into consideration all input from fans and adjusted for the sequel. Not sure what I mean? Well I won’t spoil the interesting interview. Head on over to GamingBits.com for the full interview.

It seems every week analysts come out and proclaim one of the smartphones above will rise above the other in the battle for both operating system (OS) and device supremacy in the U.S. The most recent analysts review says that Blackberry will remain the market leader through 2014; with 60% of handset sales expected to be smartphones over the coming years, it seems BlackBerry hasn’t had much of a market ‘buzz’ the last few months. Which set of analysts will be correct in this? I am not sure anyone knows yet, but they are all throwing opinions around like throwing darts at a dartboard.

The latest launch from Research in Motion (RIM) has been the Storm 2 on Verizon Wireless which wasn’t all that exciting; it simply fixes some minor bugs and has some additional enhancements. Jim Balsillie, RIM’s Co-CEO, has promised some upcoming new devices set to launch….well…he never really said when.

The big buzz has been all the new Google Android devices launching on 3 of the 4 major carriers and plenty more in the pipeline slated for launch over the new couple of quarters. The iPhone 3GS has been a hot seller as well and between those two, it seems BlackBerry is slipping behind in the smartphone battle.

With the holiday shopping season upon us, the carriers are ramping up their marketing, number of phone/device options, and more rate plans. The shine is on Android right now but time will tell how the user experience will meet the market hype – if it does well, then the iPhone and BlackBerry will have a formidable foe to reckon with.

Stay tuned….this will be fun!
