How do I know Rupert Murdoch listens? Two words: Glenn Beck. Besides that, I knew the day I wrote into the  Hannity & Colmes show. There was awhile where Hannity would remark that everyone was there to see him and he would always end the show saying something derogatory towards Alan. I had enough. Being conservative does not mean you can be a bully and I wrote in! I swear, the next day Sean stopped. I don’t know if 1 e mail counts as 10,000 or if we all just were embarressed but I was so glad Sean stopped.

Maybe Sean Hannity listens! He does have the Hate Hannity Hotline. That was my only beef with him. Other than that, I think he is a pretty open minded individual. What! What did i just say! Yes, I do! Before Alan left, Hannity had his own program on the weekends, and he had a segment that he gave as much time to as all the others. The segment was titled “Beyond Belief”. He still showcases paranormal events here and there on his new Hannity show (with out Alan). He covers everything from UFO’s to ghosts, and he actually doesn’t say what he thinks either way. We know he is a good Catholic, and god bless him. I know he is a smart guy, and he isn’t going to just take anything at face value. He can’t admit it, but he can. He does….he created that segment, and I applaud him for having the courage to put it out there, among us conservatives.

You’re going to notice this blog have some articles that probably do not sound like me. That’s because they are not! I brought in Alan Colmes! Oh not really, I brought in Amarie Wilcox! You will know her posts from mine with the (AW) at the end, or perhaps the liberal slant. I’m not saying I’m a good conservative, and I’m not saying she’s a good liberal. I am saying that there is a difference and I welcome her point of view.

We may disagree, or agree to disagree, or even really behind the scenes, agree. I’m not telling. I just think we are going into uncharted waters here….and it’s going to be fun! I hope that she doesn’t leave like Colmes did. I never did figure out if Hannity’s ratings went up overall. I bet though, they did. Conservative principles work in a capitalist society. XD….liberal views need government funding. I think that explains our differences right there.

I’ll let (AW) speak for herself! I always thought Alan Colmes had good points, and was a great thinker and human being. As I once heard from my former employer, “It takes all kinds to run a horse race”.

Did Alan Colmes leave Hannity & Colmes with his ego fully intact? His performance on Fox & Friends Weekend in his interview with co-anchor Dave Briggs might call that into question. In a quite contentious segment on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s future, Colmes took issue sharply with Briggs’ assertions that the Speaker was losing credibility with her evolving tale of her C.I.A. waterboard briefing, that either C.I.A. chief Leon Panetta or Speaker Pelosi was lying, etc. Nothing necessarily out of the ordinary.

However, when Briggs asserted that Colmes was not answering his query as to whether Pelosi should have investigated whether the waterboarding was actually occurring if she did not already know, Colmes snapped. Taking obvious offense to a grinning Briggs with arms crossed, Colmes severely and sonorous retorted, “Stop that! Don’t tell me about answering your question. I’m answering your question. Don’t say that to me!”

After laughing in response, Briggs began to realize that he had struck a rather raw nerve. Taken aback, he responded, “Okay” to a chafed Colmes. Even though Briggs then seemed to give him his space and a bit more deference, he continued to ask the tough questions on President Obama’s decisions to not release detainee photographs and to reauthorize military commissions.

Perhaps, Colmes’ departure from H&C was not fully his choice after all.

I was going to post this video after it was aired on April Fools day but I was having computer problems. It’s so funny however that I had to post it even at this late stage. Anyone who is familiar with Hannity & Colmes the hit Fox News show will get a real kick out of this.

Evening Sweeties

 For those who have seen Amateur night at The Apollo, when an act is booed by a majority of the audience a guy comes out to tap dance the failed act off the stage. We need that guy to go on Bill O’ Reily’s show and do a Gregory Hines/ Savion Glover number!  What is it going to take to get this impersonating journalist off of the air?

Bill O’Reily takes Americans back to a time where Jim Crow was normal and women were seen and not heard, and gay people… Fugget About it! I would have a sliver of an iota of respect for the man, if he could make an intelligent argument for his asinine remarks. He can’t even do that. He just gets all huffy, puffy, veiny and RED, and shouts over his guests, believing it makes him right! 

The following is a comment that O’Reily  made on his show regarding a dinner he had with Al Sharpton at Sylvia’s restaurant in Harlem. The audacity and blatant racism that spews from this his mouth is astonishing. Then he has the nerve to stand by his comments and say that they were  ”misunderstood” and taken out of context. Ummmm… you take a listen, and let me know what you all think.

It sounded pretty clear and intentional to me.  In addition to his questionable comments about race, gender, politics, , I want to remind everyone that he was accused of sexual harassment by one of his producers. Instead of claiming his “innocence” and he decided to settle out of court. I would think that the way he likes to wag his finger, and run his mouth on his program that he would have demanded to have his day in court. Smells like pure and unadulterated GUILT to me. He then accused the former producer of trying to “shake him down” for money. I say there aren’t enough millions in the world to ever atone for being the victim of sexual harassment by the likes of Bill O’Reily. That must have been so emotionally traumatic. Although money can never erase the wretched memories,  I believe  anyone deserves a whole lot of cash if they were subjected to an old, jowly, sweaty, man making unwanted and unwarranted sexual advances towards them  AT  their place of WORK!   

CAUTION:If you have a weak stomach or a vivid imagination, I would suggest skipping this one. 

 Oh the Horror of the HYPOCRISY of it all!!!

I don’t stand alone in my disdain for O’Reily passing himself off as a “fair and balanced”  ”journalist”. Bill Moyers, Keith Olbermann and many other highly respected REAL journalist have voiced very public opinion about their disappointment and concern with O’Reily’s weak and lame commentaries.

He deserves a good old fashion Amish style shunning.

For those who don’t know the definition of shunning is: the act of deliberately avoiding association with, and habitually keeping away from an individual or group. I’ve read the Amish are some of the best shunners around! Let’s take a lesson from them and simultaneously turn our backs on this foolish freak of nature!

Why am I aiming such vitriolic language at Ann Coulter,you might ask? It’s because I think that she should get a taste of her own medicine! After all, Ann Coulter said this about the 9/11 widows:

“These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.”

If that wasn’t evil enough for you, look at this transcript of an interview that Ann Coulter did with Sean Hannity that I obtained from Media Matters. Here’s an excerpt:

From the June 7 edition of Fox News’ Hannity & Colmes:

HANNITY: “Coulter the Cruel.” From what I understand, even Hillary was attacking you today.

COULTER: Yes.

HANNITY: And what were her comments?

COULTER: She said the book should have been named “Heartless.” It was mean to these women. And I responded to the New York Times reporter asking for a comment that, before Hillary refers to other people being mean to women, she should talk to her husband, who was accused of rape by Juanita Broaddrick and was groping Kathleen Willey simultaneously with her own spouse committing suicide. Maybe she should talk to her husband about being mean to women.

HANNITY: Let me start — let’s set the controversy for the book, because I actually read the book cover to cover, and I read the chapter in question here.

COULTER: Thank you.

HANNITY: You’re making a broader point. You’re saying that liberalism cannot be sold by the people in office, and you feel people like Cindy Sheehan, who lost a son in Iraq –

COULTER: Right.

HANNITY: — Jack Murtha, who was a former Marine –

HANNITY: — these four — what you call Jersey women.

COULTER: They call themselves the Jersey Girls.

HANNITY: And you are saying that they are being used by the left to make points that they cannot make on their own. Isn’t that the point of the chapter?

COULTER: Yes, it’s liberal infallibility. They used to have complete, 100 percent control of news dissemination in America. They lost that with Fox News, with talk radio, with the Internet. So then they started complaining about, you know, angry voices, political dialogue has never been so divisive. And then people remember the sweetness and light we were getting from the left during, say, the [Supreme Court nominee Robert] Bork hearings, so that wasn’t really working.

So now they send out spokespeople who, because of some personal tragedy, we’re not allowed to respond to, because their husbands died in 9-11, because they had a son die in Iraq. If they’re making a point worth making, they are entering the public dialogue, how about letting Howard Dean make the point?

HANNITY: All right, but here’s — here — I guess this is what people are saying. This is why you’re on the front page of the tabloids in New York. You’re saying they’ve entered the political arena. Now, I’ve gone and I’ve been looking at some of the comments, for example, of the Jersey women in particular.

HANNITY: They have been very harsh about Condi Rice, about Karl Rove –

COULTER: Oh, yes.

HANNITY: – about President Bush, very outspoken. They were on the campaign trail with John Edwards and with John Kerry.

COULTER: Right. They cut a campaign commercial for Kerry.

HANNITY: They cut a campaign — so basically what you’re saying is, if they’re going to enter the political arena separate from the loss of their husbands, that now this is a dialogue. If they call the president a liar, this is now a dialogue. And you’re saying most people won’t dare get engaged with them because of what they’ve been through, which is the purpose of –

And now that cackling scarecrow,known as Ann Coulter, is being investigated for voter fraud. Ha, ha, ha!! Sorry,but this is so funny that I couldn’t contain my laughter! She’s such a horrid person that I can’t help but to feel gleeful about her current dilemna. Here’s more from The Daily News:

“Ann Coulter is being probed. Following our Jan. 11 column, Connecticut’s Elections Enforcement Commission is making a “thorough investigation” of whether the conservative pundit broke the law by voting in the Nutmeg State while living in New York City, according to a commission spokeswoman.
Officials are responding to a formal complaint filed by Coulterwatch.com blogger Dan Borchers. “For over 10 years, Ann Coulter has gotten away with illegal, immoral and unethical behavior, ranging from plagiarism to defamation, perjury to voter fraud,” claims the conservative Borchers. I probably shouldn’t admit this, but is it bad that I was secretly hoping Lanny Davis would replace Colmes? Perhaps not as tactically brilliant as recent television history’s shrewdest sidekick replacement of Kathie Lee with Kelly Ripa, it is every bit as fitting.

The show’s new name: Hannity & Lannity. Geraldine Ferraro could fill in when he leads cheerleading camp at the State Department this spring.

Twelve years of being Sean Hannity’s “on air punching bag” (to quote Al Franken) finally came to an end yesterday for Allan Colmes, the token liberal of Fox News.

Truth be told, I don’t think Franken and some of his harsher liberal critics were entirely justified in trivializing the contribution of Colmes to that program. No, it wasn’t an entirely “fair and balanced” presentation by any means (clearly, Hannity was always the real “star” of the show and things were skewed in his favour), but as far as these sorts of programs go, it wasn’t really all that bad and Colmes did a reasonably good job of representing the liberal side of the equation.

On the new program (unsurprisingly called “Hannity”), a recurring segment will be the The Hate Hannity Hotline, a compilation of voice mails and videos from dissenting listeners of the host’s syndicated radio show. Now that promises to be an entertaining treat!

Well, if you listen to various media reports, it appears that Ann Coulter has been banned by NBC. I’ve read numerous stories that NBC scrapped an appearance at the last minute, and that the network has banned her from its air for life.

The liberal media elite has run afoul of Ann Coulter yet again. Well, that didn’t take long.

The lightning-rod conservative pundit is crying conspiracy—liberal media elite conspiracy, that is—over her last-minute cancellation from this morning’s edition of the Today show. She claims her new book’s inflammatory, right-leaning rhetoric, and not, as NBC insists, the little matter of devoting more air time to the ever-worsening Middle East conflict, was the reason for her abrupt bump.

“I guess this ends the ‘they just want to get ratings’ argument about liberal media bias,” Coulter grouses on her website.

Coulter was due to appear on the first and fourth hours of Today to promote her new book, Guilty: Liberal ‘Victims’ and Their Assault on America, and while the Drudge Report yesterday upped the conspiracy ante, breathlessly reporting that Coulter has been permanently banned from the show, NBC News says hooey.

“We’ve had Ann Coulter on Today many times, but because of the news in Washington and the Middle East, we decided to cancel her appearance tomorrow,” the network said Monday. “Understanding the media as well as she does, we are sure she knows this happens from time to time. We look forward to welcoming her back in the future.”

Coulter will instead appear on CBS’ Early Show this morning to promote her new tome and no doubt continue to bash NBC, as she did on last night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Hannity & Colmes.

“I know the whole thing was a setup to block me from other TV shows,” she said. “I think if my book does well I can buy NBC.”

In lieu of Coulter’s appearance this morning, Today featured an interview with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair about his Middle East peacekeeping missions, a rundown of President-elect Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package and—this one’s really gotta hurt—an interview with Perez Hilton.

I just heard Ann Coulter explain the “I-was-banned-for-life-from-NBC” story that was making the rounds yesterday. She’s a guest on FOX & Friends this morning, and was on Hannity & Colmes last night, and I caught both appearances.

And I still don’t “get” it.

I wish her publicists at Crown Forum had come up with an easier to digest “controversy” to coincide with the release of her new book Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America

Like, say, concentrating on the thesis of her book, which sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Mostly because I’ve been saying and writing about the same idea for years at my blog.

That is: that throughout history, people who craved honor and attention pretended to be heroes: think about the old jokes about guys in the nut house who thought they were Napoleon or Jesus, or the crazy uncle in Arsenic and Old Lace who believes he’s Theodore Roosevelt.

Sometime around the 1970s, however, the magnetic poles of heroism switched.

Today, if you want honor and attention, you vie to be seen as a victim. Think of Tawana Brawley. Fake memoirs abound in which the authors claim to have been everything from Holocaust survivors to impoverished ghetto girls. Fake Vietnam vets are practically epidemic.

It’s a fascinating phenomenon that says a lot (none of it flattering) about our liberal-run society.

That’s why I’ve written about it so much at my blog.

Alas, unlike Ann Coulter, I don’t have a juicy multi-book contract with a big publishing company.

And unlike all those liberal “victims,” I’m not going to whine about that.

Instead, I’ll say what I always say about Ann Coulter: she’s a lot better on paper than she is on tv or on the radio. So if she turns you off or just leaves you cold when you see interviews with her, please: take a chance and read her instead.

You might just learn something, and laugh at the same time, corny as it sounds.

Ann Coulter doesn’t need these goofy imaginary controversies to sell books — in fact, this “banned for life” non-starter makes her look like the very folks she condemns in Guilty.

I found this story interesting.

Time magazine has awarded President-elect Obama Person of the Year. In a related story, Vice President-elect Biden has selected Time Magazine’s Jay Carney as his communication director. This, apparently, has set off conspiracy alarms for Sean Hannity.

On the December 17th edition of Hannity & Colmes, Sean said:

Shocker: The president-elect is crowned Time magazine’s Person of the Year; this after Time magazine’s D.C. bureau chief accepts a job in the Obama White House. Ah, I’m sure it’s a coincidence.

News flash, Mr. Hannity. Time Magazine often selects Presidents and President-elects as Person of the Year.

Stop it already with your half-baked conspiracy theories Sean. Do something more useful and productive. Ask Obama what he’s planning to do about the economy. Ask him what his step-by-step plans are for Iraq and Afghanistan. Ask for detailed plans for Iran and North Korea. This B.S. about Person of the Year is completely irrelevant. No one cares. Grow up! Stop wasting your viewers’ time.

Hannity & Colmes departing co-host Alan Colmes did not cotton to Brian Kilmeade’s flippant familiarity today. In Fox & Friends’ final segment with Colmes and his wife Jocelyn Crowley (author of Defiant Dads), co-host Brian Kilmeade asked, “Al, what are you are going to be doing: do we know?” Colmes snapped, “Al-[l]an. I don’t go by that nickname!”

Egging them on, co-anchor Steve Doocy interjected, “Them’s fighting words!” Colmes continued, “Don’t call me Al!” Brian smiling rejoined, “You are so angry.” Colmes replied, “I don’t call you Bri: I mean, what is that? [Can I] shorten your name?” Brian responded, “You can call me Bri!” Colmes answered, “I don’t think so! Calming Colmes, Gretchen Carlson commented, “We call him Brain around here.” Steve observed, “This is not ending well.” Colmes retorted, “It didn’t start well.”

Trying to get back on track, Colmes explained that he would continue his radio show and develop a Fox weekend program. Then he ribbed Brian, stating that he was going to be Doocy’s co-host on Fox & Friends. Brian riposted, “I definitely like your wife better!”

FNC’s Sean Hannity announced to his “Hannity & Colmes” audience that the show will return as “Hannity” on January 12, 2009. The conservative commentator said that he and his liberal co-host had had a good run and that he had few disagreements off the set. He kiddingly accused his co-host Alan Colmes of “abandoning me.” Colmes response was generally muted and mentioned his unnamed FNC projects in the works.

About three weeks ago, too, when Alan Colmes announced that he would be leaving H&C after twelve successful seasons, Hannity responded that Colmes was abandoning him. Each time that he has said it, it appeared that Colmes didn’t directly respond as if Hannity did protest too much. Even though Colmes has indicated that he initiated the change with Bill Shine, FNC’s SVP of programming, one can’t help wonder if Hannity gave him a little push.

With Hannity’s new $100 million radio contract with ABC Radio Networks and Premiere Radio Networks and recent lucrative four-year renwal with FNC, one may wonder if Hannity is readying to rival Rush and O’Reilly instead of playing second banana.

Hannity & Colmes just reported that this image was taken on Dec. 2, exactly one week before Barack Obama said, “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”

Again, why is Obama lying about this?

Notice Obama’s response to questions about his involvement in the Blagojevich scandal sounded curiously like someone who is being charged with something: A denial of involvement, a quick and superficial expression of dismay at the situation and the obligatory “beyond that I shouldn’t comment because the investigation is ongoing” – or somesuch.

If Obama really is as scot-free as he claims to be, he should have been confident enough to issue a strong, undeniable rebuke of the governor’s abhorrent behavior.

And yet, Obama shiftily issued a weak and stuttering response that smacked of guilt.

Don’t get me wrong.  Not for a second do I believe that Obama won’t come out of this mess smelling like a rose (if not the freshest rose).  Nonetheless, it seems that he is either guilty of something, or (more likely) extremely afraid of being seen as guilty of something simply because of his (or his surrogates’) connections to Blago.

Is Blago really crazy, as some pundits are speculating?  Or, does he know about a skeleton that would rock the world?

I agree with Betty Cracker: Can we stop pretending that Rick Warren is a moderate, or that he’s a “new” kind of Evangelical, or that he’s anything other than a fat fucking right-wing fraud with eliminationist connections who people only find palatable due to his watered-down “purpose-driven” batshit combined with the fact that he’s hairy like a cuddly bear?

Here he is talking with fellow brainchild Sean Hannity about why the Bible says it’s all okie-dokie if we want to invade Iran, because, hey, foreign policy is hard, and it’s a lot easier to just call shit evil and then point at prooftexted Bible verses.

I need to comment on Rick Warren’s interview on Hannity & Colmes. This will probably step on some toes, because Rick Warren is like the sacred cow to some Baptists. I have had some issues with him in the past, but have let them go because I think he means well. Last night on Hannity & Colmes, he made Jesus look like a joke. He at first does a very good job proclaiming Jesus to be the only way to Heaven. But when pushed on what happens to those who don’t profess Jesus as their personal savior, he fails badly. He dodges the question by saying this is the perfect time of year to give Jesus a chance. He then challenges people to give Jesus a 60 day trial or your money back guarantee. Alan Colmes responds just like the book of the month club. This is a highly disrespectful way to talk about Jesus. I understand Mr. Warren is from the seeker sensitive crowd. He goes out of his way not to offend anyone. But when he soft sells Jesus and Christianity to make them more palatable, he is giving a Gospel that is not true. Jesus should in no way be allowed to be compared to a book of the month club. He goes on to say that Jesus is a gift from God that we just need to unwrap. And if we do, we get to have a purpose in life and get to go to Heaven. Notice no mention of sin and no mention of the need for repentance. According to Rick, God sent Jesus so that Christians could have a purpose in life. Jesus is a nice pretty little package that all we need to do is unwrap. That is not the Jesus of the Bible. God sent Jesus to die on a cross, a bloody unrecognizable mess, in order to save us from the wrath of God. Jesus is not a nice little package to open and try out for 60 days. Jesus is the only way we can be forgiven of our sins. We should run to Him and fall on our faces is admiration of what He has done. The real Jesus is foolishness to many in the world today. Pastor Warren is trying to sweeten Him up in order to get people to accept Him. But if they are not falling before the real Savior, he may be leading them to Hell. Following Jesus does not necessarily make anyones life better. It is not suddenly all perfect after becoming a Christian. I would like for pastor Warren to just preach the Gospel of the Bible, and to let God worry about changing people’s hearts. Just preach the Word pastor, God doesn’t need our help to save people.

Oh kids, I hate to be the one to break this to you, but…..

“Hannity & Colmes” will soon be without “Colmes.”

Alan Colmes, the longtime liberal half of the Fox News Channel prime time program, will leave the show at the end of the year, the network announced Monday.

While the network remained quiet about its plans for the political debate program, two people close to the network said that Sean Hannity, 46, Mr. Colmes’s conservative counterpart for the last 12 years, would become the sole host of the hour. The people requested anonymity while speaking about private deliberations.

Mr. Colmes’s departure, coming as a Democrat prepares to take over the White House, is a sharp change to the prime-time lineup of Fox News, a subsidiary of the News Corporation.

You betcha it’s a sharp change! It will probably take less than 6 months for Faux News viewers to realize Alan is gone!

Mr. Colmes will remain at the network as a commentator and will develop a possible weekend program. He will also continue to host his 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. radio show, “The Alan Colmes Show.”

“It’s been a great twelve years,” read the headline on Mr. Colmes’ Web site.

In a statement, Mr. Colmes said that he approached Bill Shine, the network’s senior vice president of programming, earlier in the year and said he wanted to move on and “develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network.”

“Although it’s bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, I’m proud that both Sean and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years,” he said.

“Hannity & Colmes” is the longest-running prime time program on the Fox News Channel. It debuted along with the network in 1996.

Hannity & Colmes routinely ranks as the No. 2 program on cable news behind “The O’Reilly Factor,” which precedes it at 8 p.m. Boosted by the presidential election, the program averaged 3.3 million viewers in October.

Mr. Hannity signed a new contract with Fox News last month.

The recent presidential and congressional election seemed to be a deciding factor in Colmes’s decision to leave his post. “We have a Democratic House, Senate and president,” Colmes said in an interview. “My work is done.”

When the National Football League broadcasts next week’s San Diego-Oakland game to theaters in three cities, it will mark the first time that the league has used 3-D technology during a live event. The game will be shot using special cameras and broadcast via satellite. CNET (11/24)

ABC Family on Dec. 5 begins a three-day marathon featuring the first four “Harry Potter” movies. The CW Network announced its new official Sunday evening schedule starting November 30: first season episodes of Everybody Hates Chris at 5p and The Game at 530p; two second season back-to-back episodes of The Drew Carey Show from 6-7p; first season episodes of Jericho at 7p; and MGM movies at 8p. Alan Colmes, the liberal co-host of Hannity & Colmes for 12 years will exit the show at the end of 2008. Colmes said in a statement he wants to “develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network.” He will continue to be a left-leaning commentator for Fox News and host his Fox radio show. A&E Network began production on a new reality series Steven Seagal: Lawman based on the action movie star’s nearly twenty year on/off stint as a New Orleans crime fighter. The series will follow Seagal as he works as a fully-commissioned deputy with the Jefferson Parish County Sheriff’s Office. A&E will roll out the new show late next year. (Cynopsis 11/25)

That’s up substantially from a decade ago — before Internet video was part of the culture — when Americans watched an average of 7 hours and 15 minutes each day. Comcast will launch The Comcast Network by the end of the year in the Philadelphia/Pittsburgh and Washington/Baltimore markets as a way to concentrate on more targeted public affairs and sports programming.
