The stamp was issued on October 24, 2009. It commemorates the  French artist Jean-Jacques Waltz alias Hansi (1873-1951).

The Children Traffic Park is spread over an area of 12 ½ acres and located in sector 23-A. The roads constructed in Traffic Park teaches the young and inquisitive minds on road safety. The model of traffic lights has been installed. This park is meant for children who are learning to cycle and is designed to teach them the rules of road safety.

The area outside is covered by grassy lawns, flower beds, plants, trees and roads constructed for training on road safety. This is one yet another effort from the youngest city in the country to nurture and groom better citizens of tomorrow.

The park is opened daily from 8:00 am to 6:00pm during winter and between 8:00am to 7:00pm during summer seasons. Though the park is significant for domestic tourism it has the potential to attract foreigners who visits the city. The city is dotted with world class hotels and resorts and the airport lies in the heart of the city.

Chandigarh is located in northwest India. It is not only a Union Territory, but also the capital of the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana. Chandigarh is the first ‘planned’ city of India. The city site was selected in 1948 after a careful survey, including an aerial reconnaissance.

The city has neatly laid out roads and parks, and wide boulevards lined by endless rows of trees. Most of the buildings are closely spaced and laid out in continuous rows. This is called ‘terrace housing‘.

Chandigarh has the distinction of having a unique world-acclaimed Rock Garden. It is located in Sector 1 between the Capitol Complex and Sukhna Lake.

The garden houses sculptures made by using a variety of different discarded waste materials like frames, mudguards, forks, handle bars, metal wires, play marbles, porcelain, auto parts, broken bangles etc.

There are no flowers or plants in this garden. The garden consists of figures made of raw cement resembling humans and animals.

The Chandigarh Rose Garden with its unique charm attracts a number of visitors.  The Chandigarh Rose Garden is the largest of its kind not only in India but all over Asia. The Chandigarh Rose Garden is popularly known as “Zakir Gulab” Bag.

Chandigarh rose garden contains more than 17,000 plants. There are nearly 1,600 varieties of roses there. Along with the roses, emphasis was also given on the trees of medicinal value and some unique specimen trees to enhance the beauty of the garden. The medicinal trees planted here are bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar.  This garden is the venue of the annual Festival of Gardens, an event listed on the national calendar of fairs and festivals.

Government Museum and Art Gallery: Museum has a rich collection of miniature paintings of the Gandhara and Pahari schools as also master pieces of contemporary artists of India, including graphics.

International Dolls Museum: Chandigarh has an interesting collection of dolls and puppets from all over the world covering the variant art of more than 25 countries. Chandigarh city’s International Dolls museum is closed on Sundays.

Museum of Evolution of Life: The Museum of Evolution of Life gives you a fabulous recap of the history beginning from the time of Indus Valley Civilization till date.

Sukhna Lake is a beautiful lake that lies in the foothills of Shivalik range. This 3-square-kilometre rain fed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills.

People visit this place in the morning to enjoy the cool breeze and the beauty of nature. Chandigarh Sukhna Lake serves as a great picnic spot and an apt place for pursuing water sport activities like boating, yachting and water skiing etc.

The Sukhna Lake attracts migratory birds from places/lands as far as Siberia and elsewhere.

Liebe Leut´, ich bin geschockt!

Eine gewisse Schmerzfreiheit muss man bei dieser Sendung ja schon mitbringen, aber das hier macht mich doch sprachlos:

Die gefasste Reaktion seiner Auserwählten Marianne fand ich dann doch relativ souverän… hatte sie sowas in der Art ja immerhin mal in schlechten Witzen gehört.

Bauer Hansi ist dann glücklich, wenn seine Hühner glücklich sind.
Ich überlege mir indessen unter ganz neuem Gesichtspunkt, ob ich wirklich Eier von glücklichen Hühnern oder Milch von glücklichen Kühen möchte….

Sodom und Gomorrha – ich bin jetzt nur beruhigt, dass Bild uns bestätigt, dass diese Aktion so nicht in Ordnung ist:

“Was sagen Tierschützer zu der merkwürdigen Szene? „Bauer Hansis Aktion ist nicht okay”, so Harald Ullmann (52), Sprecher der Tierschutzorganisation Peta. „Wir verurteilen seine Handlung aufs Schärfste.”

Auch die Landwirtschaftskammer NRW kennt so eine Praxis nicht. Sprecher Bernhard Rüb: „Das ist völlig unüblich und für gar nichts gut.” “

Bauer Hansi legte im Finale der “Bauer sucht Frau” Staffel Hand an. Allerdings nicht an eine der Kandidatinnen, sondern an eines seiner Hühner. Er erklärte der schockierten Kandidatin Marianne: “So bekommen sie einen Orgasmus.” Für Marianne  war dieser Hühner-Porno der Höhepunkt. Sie packte ihre Koffer und ging. “Man hört ja immer so Witze darüber, was einsame Bauern mit ihren Tieren machen … Ich bin entsetzt. Das ist nicht meine Welt.” Der Landwirt konnte die ganze Aufregung nicht verstehen: “Hansi ist immer glücklich, wenn die Hühner glücklich sind.”

Da bekommt der Werbeslogan “Milch von glücklichen Kühen” eine ganz andere Bedeutung…

Ich hab zwar noch keine Kinder, aber wenn ich einmal eins bekommen sollte, dann wirds, wenns n Mädchen wird, den 2. Vornamen meiner Oma bekommen (entweder Einzeln oder als Doppeltname). Das mache ich aber nicht, weil mir jemand “reingeredet” hat, sondern weil den 2. Vornamen meiner Oma eh keiner kennt, ich den superschön finde (Sophie) und ich damit an meine Oma erinnern möchte…. Und obendrein freut sich meine Mutter wie blöde…. Allerdings, wenns n Mädchen wird, werd ich es 100% nicht nach meinem Opa benennen… Ich finde mit dem Namen Helmut würde man nur ausgelacht… Oder wenn mein Freund der Vater wird, denn auch nich den Namen des Opas/Vaters… Ich mein wer will schon wie n Vogel heißen (Hansi)? Wow!sowas find ich auch nicht gut. vor allem haben die älteren leute ja immer so einen altmodischen namen und das kind müsste sich dann immer so damit rumquälen weil es dann gehänselt werden würde in der schule und das is doch auch nicht schön oder? ne möglichkeit wäre den namen der großeltern als zweitnamen anzugeben aber dann halt einen schönen vornamen, den sich die eltern schön alleine ausdenken dürfen. ich finde eltern haben das alleinige recht darüber zu entscheiden wie das kind heißen soll. die großeltern hatten wahrscheinlich ja auch mal völlige freiheit und es hat sich dort keiner eingemischt.

É, estamos no “mês do rock” e dia 13 foi o dia internacional do Rock! Então, como não poderia faltar minha homenagem, vou postar uma lista das bandas de rock que mais acho… boas! =D

10. Nightwish – A alguns anos atrás, eu me dizia gótica e do mal simplesmente porque escutava Nightwish. Todas aquelas notas melódicas e depressivas que saiam da boca da Tarja Turunen me deixavam extasiada. Mas depois de alguns acontecimentos, comecei a pensar que Nightwish sem Tarja não é Nightwish, então esse Nightwish que ponho aqui é com a antiga formação, com Tarja.

9. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Desde a primeira vez que escutei Road Trippin’ eu me apaixonei por Red Hot. Não só por essa música, mas todas as outras são incríveis! Não é a melhor, mas com certeza é uma das.

8. Kamelot – Arram. Faz pouco tempo que conheço Kamelot, mas acho que foi uma das melhores bandas que já escutei. As letras, os ritmos, e os cabelos o_O  Muito boa banda =D

7. Evanescence - Na mesma época que escutei Nightwish, comecei a escutar Evanescence também. Adorava o modo com Amy Lee cantava, e ainda gosto. A maioria das músicas tem uma letra que realmente encaixa com a melodia, e é incrível como eles conseguem fazer os clipes ficarem pesados e ao mesmo tempo com a cara deles sem se perderem.

6. Epica - Acho essa banda muito boa porque, mesmo Simone Simmons tendo uma voz de anjo, as músicas de Epica tem um som pesado e  levemente sombrio, como toda banda de rock deve ter, além de a mulher ser linda.

5. Evergrey – Uma banda que eu realmente gostei desde o primeiro instante que escutei, inclusive todo o sentimentalismo que algumas músicas têm, e outras que realmente parecem não ter nenhum. Essa é uma banda que você deve escutar várias vezes e pensar em cada coisa que se é dita.

4. X-Japan - Ótima banda. Sempre fui atraída por rock japonês desde que era uma pirralha, mas depois que escutei X-Japan, a atração ficou maior. Todos os solos contagiantes e as músicas tocantes realmente são legais. E viva à Hide!

3.  Matanza - Violenta? É. Maldosa? Também. Pervertida? Com certeza. Mas isso não faz  as músicas de Matanza menos criativas e inventivas! Com toda a potência da voz do Jimmy, e com todo aquele som das guitarras e bateria, Mantaza realmente conquistou meu coração.

2. Blind Guardian -

Não sei como antes eu conseguia viver sem escutar a voz maravilhosa do Hansi, sem as guitarras do Marcus e do André, ou sem a bateria de Thomas Stauch, ou recentemente, o Frederik Ehmke. Todas as músicas são geniais e inventivas! Tudo é 100% legítimo e… ótimo! Se eu já não tivesse minha banda favorita, seria essa!

1. Legião Urbana – Não importam o que digam é banda de rock sim, senhor! Aprendi a gostar de Legião desde que nasci – influência de família -, e desde então essa vem sendo uma das minhas banda favoritas, se não a mais! As músicas são sempre especiais, com um toque de realidade e ao mesmo tempo poéticas. Desde o “Aborto Elétrico” vêm contagiando todo o Brasil, e apesar da morte do Renato, e do término da banda, Legião Urbana ainda vêm tocando outras e outras pessoas. Urbana Legio Omnia Vincit!

Essas são as minhas bandas de rock favoritas! Então, já que estamos no mês do rock, por que não dizem quais são suas listas também!? =D

Chandigarh is the city of multi cultural people, languages and the city with full of artistic monuments and artistic people. The artistic performance occurs almost every day in the city. There is a Cultural Complex in Chandigarh which includes an Audio-Visual Training Institute, theatres, a Museum and an Art Gallery.

Rock Garden is the best example for art work created from broken pieces of items like crockery, bangles, pots, stones, etc.

People in Chandigarh enjoy every moment of their lives by living life hassle free. Many artists, singers, dancers, writers, musicians and actors live in the city.

People of Chandigarh speak in either Punjabi or Hindi. It differs from many other cities of the region in that it has attracted people from throughout India. Most of the people living here are service oriented people. It is as much cosmopolitan in nature as any other Indian town with numerous temples, mosques, shrines and bhawans located through out the city.

Zu dem Comic hier möchte ich euch auch mal den Hintergrund erzählen. Als ich dieses Cover zum ersten Mal sah, dachte ich mir nur: “Ah, schon wieder so ein Comic mit Propagandabotschaft aus dem 2. Weltkrieg. Wohl sowas Ähnliches wie Captain Nazi, nur ohne Superhelden…” Dann hab ich per Zufall gesehen, dass das Erscheinungsdatum 1973 lautet. Da dies ja wohl *etwas* spät für Anti-Nazi-Propaganda war, begann ich mich für den Inhalt zu interessieren. Nach dem, was ich im Netz so zusammentragen konnte, geht es in dem Comic um folgendes:

Hansi stammt ürsprünglich aus Sudetendeutschland. Sie bekommt mit, wie die Deutschen das Sudetenland an sich reißen. Hansi erhält eine freie Erziehung und lernt, dass es noch wissenschaftliche Theorein zur Entstehung der Welt gibt, die so nicht in der Bibel stehen (na, könnt ihr euch die Richtung schon denken, in die das noch gehen wird?). Sie wird zu einer glühenden Verehrerin von Hitler und bleibt dies auch bis zu seinem Selbstmord im Jahr 1945.

Nach dem Krieg fristet Hansi ihr Leben in der sowjetischen Besatzungszone. Obwohl ihr selbst nie etwas passiert, lernt sie schnell, dass den sowjetischen Soldaten vor allem danach der Sinn steht, reihenweise deutsche Frauen zu vergewaltigen. Die Lage wird so schlimm, dass Hansi nach Westdeutschland fliehen möchte, und das, obwohl ihr immer wieder eingetrichtert wurde, dass die Amerikaner allesamt Verbrecher wären. Ihr gelingt die Flucht und natürlich stellt sich der erste Amerikaner, den sie trifft, als kaugummikauender und Archie Comics lesender Gutmensch heraus (war ja klar). Sie darf in die USA einreisen, wird dort Lehrerin und trifft sogar ihren totgeglaubten deutschen Freund wieder, den sie bald heiratet.

Hansi könnte zwar glücklich sein, aber sie hat das Gefühl, dass irgend etwas in ihrem Leben noch fehlt. Gott sei Dank kommt ihr Ehemann irgendwann auf den Trichter, eine BIbel mit nach Hause zu nehmen. Hansi entscheidet sich schnell dafür, Gott in Zukunft “beim Wort” zu nehmen und das, obwohl es in Amerika jetzt ja eine Hippiekultur gibt, deren AnhängerInnen anscheinend nicht allzu stolz auf Gott und ihr Land sind.

Zur großen Wende kommt es schließlich, als Hansi ihre Klasse durch den “Pledge of Allegiance” führen soll. Bei den Worten “one nation under god” erkennt sie schließlich, dass es diese Worte sind, die den Unterschied zu Nazideutschland ausmachen (ach du lieber Scholli…) und erkennt, dass sie zu ihrer Liebe zu Jesus und den USA stehen muss, ganz egal, wieviele Hippies es dort gibt. Schließlich hat sie den Amis ja auch ihren Job als Lehrerin zu verdanken. Mit dieser bahnbrechenden Erkenntnis endet der Comic schließlich.

Kommentar: Halleluja. Beim bloßen Betrachten des Covers hätte ich mir ja einiges erwartet, aber keine christliche pro-USA Propaganda. Ok, spätestens als ich das Erscheinungsdatum und den Namen des Publishers (Spire Christian Comics) sah, war mir klar, in welche Richtung der Inhalt wohl geht, aber dass man in einem Aufwaschen der Wissenschaft (und hier – das vermute ich aber nur – wohl vor allem dem Darwinismus), den Sowjets, den Hippies und den Nazis (okay, die habens selbstverständlich verdient) eine verbale Maulschelle verpasst, hätte selbst ich nicht erwartet. Und das alles im Namen Christi.

Es würde mich übrigens echt interessieren, ob mein Verdacht richtig ist, dass die Macher quasi versehentlich die Botschaft rüberbringen, dass die Titelheldin lediglich von einem Gedankenkontrollsystem ins Nächste fällt, ohne es zu merken. So etwas wäre überhaupt mal eine interessante Idee für eine Geschichte finde ich (natürlich nur, wenn man sie von einem neutralen Standpunkt aus erzählt und nicht eines der Systeme als das Bessere hervorhebt). 

Irgendwann werd ich ein Exemplar für mich auftreiben und dann gibts hier in diesem Artikel wohl ein größeres Update.

Ich werde in Zukunft übrigens öfter mal Artikel zu den Hintergründen der geposteten Comics schreiben. Als nächstes ist wohl unser ritterlicher Held Sigurd dran.

Sabeer Bhatia, better known as the founder of Hotmail, was born in Chandigarh, in 1968. He did his schooling from St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School, Bangalore. He graduated from Caltech and went to Stanford to pursue his MS in Electrical Engineering.

After completing his Masters, his first job was at Apple computers. He teamed up with his partner to create a web-based e-mail system called Hotmail which become a hugely successful email application. Microsoft bought Hotmail on December 30th, 1997, for a reported sum of $400M. After the success of Hotmail, Bhatia in 1999, started another venture, Arzoo Inc, which however had to be shut down in 2006, later, Arzoo was relaunched as a travel portal.

Sabeer Bhatia has won several honors and awards. The major awards include: “Entrepreneur of the Year,” awarded by the venture capital firm (1997); and “TR100″ award, presented by MIT. He was also named by TIME as one of the “People to Watch” in International Business (2002).

Cactus Garden is located at a distance of about 8 km. away from Chandigarh, in center part of Panchkula.

Cactus Garden is also called as National Cactus and is also a Research Centre. The main goal behind developing the garden was preservation and conservation of endangered species of cacti and succulents. The Garden covering an area of 7 acres is considered as Asia’s largest outdoor landscaped cacti and Succulents. You can find nearly 3500 different kinds of species of Cacti & succulents. The garden has a comprehensive collection of Indian succulents, the largest in the world. Some of them extremely rare and has already been declared as endangered species, which includes Genus Caralluma of Indian origin. The cacti and succulents also have medicinal values. It is also a great attraction not only for tourists but also for the botanists.

Thunder zone is located at Village Swara, Mohali, Chandigarh. It is spread over an area of 30 acres. The most thrilling and exiting rides in the park attracts both the kids and the adults alike. Thunder Zone presents the most modern and sophisticated equipments.

Thunder Zone provides an extensive range of exciting rides like Swinging Chairs, Octopus, The Octodragon, and The space buggies, Cater Pillar, Mono Junction, Columbus, Sun N Moon, dashing Cars, Baby Train, Splash, COBF Music Bob and Wet Park.

The most fascinating attraction in this fantasy park is the Waves-n-Swings, a special wave pool, which will produce fake waves as that of a real sea. This makes a delightful ride for the water enthusiasts. Most modern equipments mixed with wonderful themes, makes the park a favorite hot spot of all age group.

Milkha singh was born on December 15, 1971, Chandigarh. He is the son of former Indian Olympian athlete Milkha Singh and his mother is Nirmal Kaur, former captain of the Indian women’s volleyball team.

He is the highest ranked Indian golfer in the world and was the first Indian golfer to become a member of the European Tour. He is also known as Tiger Woods of India.

At the age of 13 he won his first amateur tournament, American Express Championship in Delhi.

Jeev has been a regular in the Asian PGA Tour since the mid 1990s and has bagged a number of major competitions. In 1997 he finished seventh at the European Tour qualifying school, and he joined the tour the following year.

In April 2006, Jeev won the Volvo China Open, becoming the second Indian to win on the European Tour.

Jeev has won several honors and awards. The major awards include Padma Shri, Asian Tour Order of Merit.

Funcity, 20km from Chandigarh is the  biggest Amusement Park and Water  Park  in  entire northern region, is spread over 43 acres of scenic land. It is a unique combination of Amusement Park, Water Park and Resort. Here we can find exiting and hi-tech hydraulic rides (Razzle-Dazzle, Big Apple, Crazy Cars, Fun Slide, Fun Flight, Big  Wheel, Fun Willies etc.)  in Amusement Park for both children and adults. Wunder Water – the first and the biggest wet park in the region has three landing pools, one activity pool, one wave pool and 16 water  slides of different sizes and shape including a few  small ones  for  children. New rides like Aqua dance, lazy river, splash pool, Slides like Typhoon tunnel, White multi lane white slide, Run away raft slide, Red dragon slide, Pendulum slide have also been introduced.

National gallery was established in 1977 and is situated at Sector-17B in Chandigarh. It exhibits a journey of India’s struggle for freedom from the rising of 1857 to the achievement of freedom in 1947.

Here, you can find the portraits of famous Indian Freedom Fighters like Gandhiji and Pandit Jawaha Lal Nehru and also other freedom fighters recorded voices.

Apart from this, an amazing library with outstanding collection of books gives a vast account of the freedom movement. The gallery also exhibits more than 1000 photographs and duplicate of original rare documents, ceramic murals and sculptures. National Gallery of Portraits also houses a film on the freedom movement of India.
