A ‘break-up’ with your best friend can be tough. But yes, like everything else in life, you can handle a rift in close friendships

Love hurts. So does friendship. Especially when a beautiful bond goes sour over petty things. As you mature, friendships take on a different meaning altogether but during college years, when the world revolves around your friends, a break-up can be pretty hard. But take heart. Friendships gone wrong are a part and parcel of life and the growing up process. Remember Dil Chahta Hai? Here’s how to emerge from a break-up, all wise and smiling.

Coping with friendship failures
• Acknowledge the loss. The more you stay in denial, the longer it will take to heal.
• Do a post-mortem of the break-up. Examine reasons that caused the drift. This is important, so you don’t repeat it the next time.
• If it was your fault, apologise. Things may not get back to normal, but it’s comforting to know that you’ve done your job.
• If your friend was at fault, forgive and move on.
• Don’t jump into a new friendship immediately. Rebounds don’t work! You might end up falling into bad company.
• When you find other close friends, don’t compare them with your last relationship.

How to end a fight
Many a time, you will find that you even forgot what the fight was about. You just seemed to argue, and then stop talking to each other. Time goes by and you realise that you miss the friendship, and wish you could talk to your friend again. It is possible that they feel the same way as you do. Someone has to take the initiative, and it might as well be you. However, remember that when the disagreement was too hurtful, a friend might just not want to make up with you.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the long-running television cartoon series ‘The Simpsons’, the mother character ‘Marge’ has appeared as a ‘centerfold’ in the similarly long-running ‘men’s magazine’ ‘Playboy’.

Whilst this can be seen as a harmless publicity stunt, an Australian was recently convicted of the possesion of child-pornography, even though it consisted of sexually explicit depictions of Simpsons characters, rather than images of actual children, or even realistic fabrications.

This illustrates the uneasy relationship within Western society between the medium of cartoons, which is seen as predominantly for children, and topics such as sex or violence that are regarded as adult concerns. Indeed, when these are deliberately combined, the results can be somewhat disturbing.

Indeed, ‘The Simpsons’ itself ironically comments on this situation through its portrayal of
the ‘Itchy and Scratchy Show’, a hyper-violent fictional cartoon that would be unlikely to be seen as suitable for children per se, even though the ‘real’ cartoon it is depicted within is.

Although the desire to separate ‘adult’ concerns from a ‘child’s’ medium can be seen to be driven by such academic social psychology as Bandura’s social learning theory, this view is not shared cross-culturally. Cartoon ‘manga’ comics and ‘anime’ films are immensely popular amongst Japanese people of all ages, and so are routinely available in a wide range of genres, including violent or sexually explicit ones.

Comme chaque année à cette époque, on voit débarquer de grosses citrouilles à l’allure inquiétante. Vampires, sorcières et monstres en tous genres vont bientôt envahir les rues: la nuit d’Halloween approche à grand pas !

Ici, tout le monde en parle depuis des mois, c’est l’effervescence ! C’est un peu notre Mardi gras en plus fou ! Pour ma part, je ne me suis toujours pas décidée sur un déguisement et si ça continue je vais me retrouver comme l’année dernière, en Moi (ce qui, comme pourrait le dire les mauvaises langues, serait tout à fait approprié aux circonstances) !

Si vous habitez un quartier (ou un immeuble) fortement peuplé par des enfants, vous savez ce qu’il vous reste à faire : garnir un seau de friandises ! Après tout c’est “trick or treat” et si vous ne voulez pas qu’ils vous réservent d’affreuses surprises mieux vaut leur donner ce qu’ils sont venus chercher !

Happy Tree Friends é um desenho animado em Adobe Flash de humor negro da Mondo Mini Shows, criada por Kenn Navarro, Aubrey Ankrum, Rhode Montijo e Warren Graff.

Como mostrado no Site Oficial, o show "não é recomendado para crianças". Mesmo com a aparência fofa e típica de desenhos infantis dos personagens, o show é extremamente violento, e quase todos os episódios contém sangue, sofrimento, tragédias e mortes violentas.

Eles morrem da maneira mais horrível e absurda possível, que costumam envolver a destruição de vários lugares. Entretanto, em novos episódios, sempre está tudo normal e os personagens vivos e ilesos , como se nada tivesse acontecido, justificando o nonsense da série. Szokásos HTF ;D Szerintem kibaszott ocsmány, de azért csak!

Aveam de mai mult timp, pe telefonul de serviciu, pe post de ringtone, melodia de la genericul serialului de animaţie “Happy Tree Friends“. Mi s-a părut tare amuzantă, am  dat-o şi altora să şi-o seteze pe telefon, dar nu m-am obosit să mă uit la vreun episod din această serie.

Zilele trecute am dat din întâmplare peste un filmuleţ cu un episod din Happy Tree Friends şi… stupoare. Adevărate filme horror, frate! Nu că nu-s recomandate copiilor, dar nici pe adulţi nu i-aş sfătui să se uite prea mult la aşa ceva, dacă nu vor să rămână cu sechele.

Iată ce scrie pe Wikipedia despre acest subiect:

“Happy Tree Friends (engleză:Prietenii fericiţi din copac), deseori abreviat ca HTF este o serie de desene animate Flash create de Mondo Mini Shows. De la debutul său, a devenit un fenomen de pe internet.

După cum se spune şi pe site-ul Happy Tree Friends, nu este recomandat copiiilor. ^[1] De fapt, recomandarea de pe site este Cartoon Violence. HTF is not recommended for small children or big babies. (engleză:Violenţă animată. HTF nu se recomandă copiiilor mici sau bebeluşilor mari.) ^[1]

În ciuda personajelor sale drăgălaşe (animale personificate), episoadele sunt foarte violente, majoritatea personajelor murind datorită unor evenimente sau accidente tragice, neprevăzute. Sunt foarte sângeroase.

Personajele nu vorbesc foarte mult dar chiar şi când discută, acestea mai mult gânguresc, cuvintele fiind greu de înţeles. De obicei atunci când personajele vorbesc, gesticulează sau fac anumite semne pentru ca spectatorul să poată înţelege ce se discută.”
