In a followup to yesterday’s announcement of the Buick Regal, today Buick released pricing for the vehicle. Initially, the Regal will only be offered in the Premium CXL model with other trim models to be offered in the 2012 model year.

The Premium CXL model start at $29,495 including a $750 destination charge and includes the following:

• Standard 2.4L Ecotec direct injected engine rated at an estimated 182 horsepower (136 kW)
• Available 2.0L Ecotec turbocharged and direct injected engine rated at an estimated 220 horsepower (164 kW) – available late-summer 2010
• Both engines have six-speed automatic transmission standard with Driver Shift Control (DSC)
• Estimated 30 mpg on the highway with the 2.4L and 29 mpg highway with the 2.0L turbo engine
• MacPherson strut front suspension and four-link independent rear suspension
• Class-exclusive Interactive Drive Control System is available with the 2.0L turbo.

Some more standard and optional features include:

• Four-wheel disc brakes with four-channel anti-lock braking system, brake assist and electronic parking brake
• Standard StabiliTrak stability control system and full-function traction control
• Standard dual-stage frontal air bags, side-curtain air bags and pedal-release system; and available rear-seat thorax air bags
• Available navigation system, Harman Kardon sound system, and internal flash drive (1GB)
• Standard 18-inch aluminum wheels (19-inch aluminum wheels come with available Interactive Drive Control on the 2.0L turbo)
• Standard 12-way power, leather and heated driver seat; leather and heated passenger front seat; Bluetooth for phone capability; i-Pod auxiliary jack and USB port; XM Satellite Radio and OnStar

The regal will go on sale in the U.S. around the beginning of the second quarter (around March).

It looks like a good deal considering how much is put into the car. Buick’s vision of rebuilding their image is coming along nicely with sharp looks and great modern features in their recent “new old model car” remakes.

Ok, a grand for 2.0 speakers? Sounds ludicrous, but creators Harmon Kardon feel their GLA-55 Speakers are worth every penny. Sistem speaker ini menggunakan 4 way speaker..jadi ketika anda mendengarkan suara speaker ini,seperti surround sound!!,cukup memuaskan!!
Kekurangannya mungkin minim fitur..tidak ada layar control,alarm,atau support untuk iphone(supaya iphone bisa tetep nyala radio devicenya)

Let me start by saying I am REALLY REALLY REALLY picky about the quality of sound. I needed a pair of speakers for my office (I have an older pair of speakers that I hook my iPod up to that I wanted to replace.) Well, I came across these and then searched for as many reviews as I could about them…most of the reviews turned out to be very good as a matter of fact! After doing a search for them, I saw they were available at Office Depot so decided to purchase them in-store…however, when I went there I did not see them and was told by a sales associate they were only available at their online store. The (very nice) gentleman then convinced me to rather go for some Logitech x-230 speakers with a sub-woofer. Very hesitantly, I decided to take a chance. Well, after plugging them in and listening to a sample of music, I unplugged them 1/2 a minute later and returned them the next day. I then decided to go ahead an purchase these JBL Duet speakers. They have just arrived, I just plugged them in…am listening to them right this very moment after sampling a variety of music (classical, heavy rock, etc.) and I must say…***WOW***…they are EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!!! Super crisp high notes & midtones with all the background instruments clearly coming through…listening to classical music is simply a pleasure!! On the other end of the scale, the rich, deep, full-bodied bass & undertones effortlessly carry the heavy rock & deep classical sounds giving the sound the true depth it needs to really appreciate the music for what it is. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend these!!!

To start off, this is one great example of a system that is value for money. Like the previous system reviewed, the Bose Companion 3 Series II, this is a 2.1 channel system meaning it has 2 satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Unlike Bose, they publish the technical data. The system features 4 1-inch drivers in each satellite and a 6-inch driver for the subwoofer. The amplifier power output is 10 watts RMS and 20 Watts RMS respectively. The frequency response is 44Hz-20 000Hz almost the same as the Bose (based on the frequency sweep) of 30hz- 17 000Hz approx. Bose does not publish technical data so I cannot confirm.

First impression of the system is great. No problems installing, simple set-up. The sub weighs 1/3 than the weight of Bose’s at 2.27kg. Let’s get to the flaws first before beginning with the goodies. No input or output meaning you can plug in additional sources to the speakers and from the speakers. Would have liked to have the sub made of wood instead of plastic but that would not match the holistic design of the system. And that’s it! I would not consider no power off button a flaw but some people find it irritating because you can only mute the system. The system glows blue when it is muted.

One of the satellites feature 2 touch-sensitive buttons to adjust the volume or mute when pressed together. This touch sensitive button is similar to the one found on the Bose Control Pod. Looks is rated at 8/10 due to the clear plastic design, very geeky being able to see things that make the system tick.

The best part is the sound quality. Clear and crisp sound from the satellites. Bass go full and low and I must say I am quite surprised considering the sub is made of plastic. The sound quality, and this is not a quantifiable comparison, is similar to that of the Bose. I daresay the clarity is much clearer than the Bose although i felt that the Bose sub is better despite having a smaller driver than the harman/kardon. I should try using the satellites with the Bose subwoofer and see how that goes, not recommended though. I must say that the bass is not lacking in anyway. It is just hard to put it to word, you have to just try it and make the comparison for yourself. For that, I give the sound quality a 7/10. Really impressed. Best part is? WAY CHEAPER than the Bose.

It’s Made in China, but there wasn’t any technical problems. Unboxing experience was a pleasure. I think the Appleilounge gave a review about it giving a A-? And who is to dispute that? EXTREMELY VALUE FOR MONEY.

I’ve written about several sites that help travellers plan their routes, but not until recently had I come across one that incorporates accompanying music. Sure enough, though, a new site from UK-based sound system manufacturer Harman Kardon does just that, giving users an entire playlist of location-inspired music to listen to during their trip.

Users of Amplified Journeys, which is now in beta 1.0 and free to use, begin by entering the starting point and destination for their trip, along with an artist or the musical genre or mood they’re interested in. Amplified Journeys then puts together a set of detailed driving directions with an accompanying playlist including tracks inspired by landmarks and artists from points along the way. A trip from Paris to Munich focusing on dance music, for example, returns a playlist of some 110 tracks that can be clicked on for more information, edited, and then exported to iTunes. Harman Kardon recently demonstrated Amplified Journeys through a series of features in TopGear magazine, each covering a different musical journey: Glasgow to London via Manchester, for example, along with tours of Los Angeles, Detroit and Berlin. A video on YouTube, meanwhile, demonstrates the site at work.

Music and travelling have always been a natural mix, so what better way to advertise Harman Kardon’s products—and create some nice goodwill—than by giving away a little musical free love? Best Car GPS System

Tout compte fait j’ai opté pour les Créatures II de chez JBL à la place des Harman Kardon Soundsticks II & j’en suis ravi! Certes il y a un petit rodage de quelques jours a faire pour en tirer un son optimal. J’a été bluffé par ses toutes petites enceintes au blanc Apple, c’est les voisins qui sont heureux! Alors oui elles ne sont pas récentes, mais si vous avez une petite 100aines d’euros à craquer aujourd’hui, prenez les, les yeux fermés!

Avis à la population! J’ai besoin de votre aide. Pour la petite info j’ai un iMac sans home cinéma, et j’aimerai donc m’en acheter un… J’hésite entre deux home cinéma, le magnifique Soundsticks II de chez Harman Kardon et le JBL Créature II moins esthétique… J’aimerai avoir l’avis de ceux ou celles qui possèdent l’un des ces deux home. Les basses du Harman Kardon sont-elles exceptionelles comme à la grande habitude de cette marque de prestige? Le JBL “tape” t-il fort aussi? Le prix est divisé par deux pour ce dernier, donc je ne sais pas trop s’il est de bonne facture. En gros j’aimerais un son propre, sans avoir un caisson qui arrache les murs de chez moi, une reproduction parfaite des aigues, des basses & des voix.

• Harman Kardon speakers, the kind that are still for sale at the MoMa design store in NYC. Love them.

• Apple 30″ monitor, elevated on a temple of black Strathmore paper wrapped particle board and industrial-looking metal boxes. On said temple: lavender L’Occitane lotion, shocked-face bottle opener, Bic lighter, Blistex, three iTunes vouchers for free DeVotchKa songs, Wausau Paper free notepad, wire-mesh thingy full of paper clips, with binder clips clipped around the edges, post-it notes, Listerine cool mint PocketPak, pencil, highlighter, black Sharpies, both thick and thin, cordless phone, stand-up stapler, Kleenexes, toenail clippers, a golf pencil and a postcard of Zion Canyon to remind me that the outside world exists. 

• Papers for current project scattered to the left of the keyboard. The keyboard, mouse, and accompanying squishy pads, front and center. Mouse charger, bamboo plant, incense burner, noise-canceling headphones, and Franklin Covey planner to the right of the keyboard. 

I had to write something. Actually I’m supposed to be working. Whatever.

TECHNOLOGY

Harman Kardon has five new receivers up its sleeve this spring, including three A/V receivers as well as a pair of stereo receivers, including one that marks the company’s first stereo with Dolby Virtual Speaker and Dolby Headphone that simulates surround sound in two speakers and through a headset. The AVRs include the company’s first with HDMI 1.3a connections, internal decoding for Blu-ray surround sound and a new on-screen menu. (TWICE 5/30, CEPro.com 5/29)
