I’ve said it before, and I will say it again: I don’t know anything about dating. But as time goes on I am slowly but surely getting the hang of it. But this post doesn’t have anything to do with me. It has everything to do with her.

Music is a universal language. It says things that words alone can’t say. I love that. I love that music can convey something to your soul or your heart instead of your brain. I could go on about that for a while but that’s not the point. The moral of the story is that my girlfriend has started sending me songs that remind her of me. That thought on its own just floors me. The hopeless romantic in me just about keels over every time this happens. I can’t get over the fact that she hears a song and then thinks about me. I can’t get over the fact that she is thinking about me at all but that is a whole nother post involving the innermost psychology of my brain.

So my word of advice for all of my loyal readers is that if a song reminds you of someone, tell them about it. It gives them a great warm and fuzzy feeling. Maybe it just gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Or, and this is pretty damn likely, it’s not the songs at all. Maybe it’s just her.

In my last post, I argued that music is inherently “relational,” for lack of a better term. The actual physics of music are such that music asks us to collaborate, to blend our many voices into one voice. But why did God make music this way?

Today, I will suggest that God made music relational in order to help us be relational. Or, said differently, God gave us music to help us experience something we were fundamentally designed to enjoy as beings who image a Triune God–fellowship and harmony.

Why did God create music the way He did? I’m going to give two answers and expound them in turn. I believe God gave music as a gift to humankind 1) to show us He is beautiful/good, and 2) to help us participate in fellowship similar to that of the Trinity.

1) God made music to show us He is beautiful and good.

Like music, God is unity among diversity. Three persons in one God. This is the Doctrine of the Trinity. (And some theologians have drawn parallels between the Trinity and music; notably, Jeremy Begbie, formerly at Cambridge and now lecturing at Duke Divinity).

In other words, music illuminates and hints at the character of God Himself; He wrote His own nature into it. God is the ultimate beautiful display of unity among diversity, and He modeled the building blocks of music after Himself. Therefore, when we hear musical notes calling one another out, forming beautiful chords, and blending in a harmony so tight that it sounds like one voice, we are hearing God’s own nature reflected. When we hear beautiful harmony and recognize it as beautiful and good, when we marvel at music, we are in some ways, marveling at the beauty of God. And God is glorified because it’s really His own beauty that we are hearing and praising.

That’s one answer to the “why?” question: God made music relational in order to illuminate His own beauty as a Triune, relational being. And yes, we can therefore glorify Him by simply enjoying good music without participating in it. But this is not all that music does. God also made music to draw us into that harmony, to help us participate in the beauty of unity among diversity.

2) God gave us music to help us participate in fellowship similar to that of the Trinity.

This same God who has harmony and fellowship within Himself actually created human beings to participate in the same sort of harmonious fellowship. God created us “in His image,” to be like Him in some important ways. Being made “in the image of God,” certainly has a lot of meanings and implications; so I don’t want to pretend this is the only one. But it is certainly not less than this: God made us to connect and be united with Him and with other persons. As God is intrinsically relational, so are we to be. We are designed for unity among diversity, for fellowship and communion. (This is evidenced when we experience we experience moments of deep unity with other persons and find that it brings delight to our souls.)

But what does this mean with respect to music? It means that we were created to make music together. This is not limited to musicians, not just the few who seem to be specially gifted. God made all human beings in His image. All of us were created to experience the Trinitarian life of God through harmony with other persons. Think about it: what is the one thing the Bible clearly says we will all be doing throughout eternity? Singing. Making music to God. This is a core human activity and a gift for all beings made in His image.

God went to all the trouble to build the physical universe like it is so that music would exist, so that notes would harmonize with each other and please our ears, so that we would be drawn into making music together. God did not have to do all this. But He did, so that we humans might better experience the transcendent joy of being many yet one at the same time, having multiple distinct voices blended into one, harmonious whole.

God gave music as a gift to all human beings to help us experience the beautiful unity among diversity for which we were created. Of course, some people find it easier to do this than others. Some kids are prodigies and start playing the piano at age 4; others struggle to sing along with even the simplest of songs. But God gave music to all of us; and it’s for our enjoyment and edification. It is an echo, a hint of what we were created for ultimately–union, fellowship, connection, with God and with others.

that you are two sides
of one coin.

At this level of magnification
there is no
conflict or contradiction
in your existence.

You are the manifestation of
wholeness and harmony.

But your entire life,
up until this point,
has been lived under a microscope,
viewed through an objective lens
set between 40 to 4000 x.

over to the telescope instead.

Or better yet,
step away from the laboratory altogether

At post 780 Her Highness Mary very perceptively questioned me about double standards (DS). ·

At post 780 Her Highness Mary very perceptively questioned me about double standards (DS).

· She said: “It seems that the female is under a pretty heavy burden here, constantly living up to her man’s expectations while he is free to go about his business.”

· She claims that DS “can breed great resentment over time when seen from the women’s view.” She’s very right about resentment, because it springs from a one-sided and polarized view.

The DS battle in the home reflects off the legal, political, and economic DS generated outside the home. Feminists developed the DS argument as a virus to fight patriarchy. DS became contagious across society, spread into the home, and the inflammation of resentment arose in relationships.

Why do women bring it home? Once again, male and female natures differ, so I’ll cut to the chase: Women see a DS, when they favor one particular value over other principles of inter-gender behavior.

· For four decades women have listened to other women about how to handle and what to expect from men. What and how things should be more equal. Male opinions and masculine values were ignored or demeaned during that time.

· Consequently, modern females adopt equality to guide their sense of right and wrong within relationships.

Choices have consequences. Men don’t buy into it.

· DS disturbs rather than smoothes or soothes relationships.

· Reaching for more equal conditions and treatment, women inflame their relationships and demoralize their homes.

· Equality is theory and impossible to achieve beyond subjective opinion. Reaching for it, something else always gets disturbed out of equilibrium. Striving for the impossible produces unresolved differences that stimulate resentment in both striver and ‘strivee’.

· Resentment directly weakens her as the relationship expert. She figuratively eats crackers in her relationship bed, and it eats away at her likeability and his heartfelt bonding with her. Except for sex, men instinctively steer clear of beds littered with resentment crumbs.

Why don’t men buy into equality? On this particular issue, males have the better guide for couples to ease discomfort, judge opinions, and settle disputes.

· Fairness breeds harmony by smothering resentment before it breaks out.

· Fairness works much better than equality in the competitive world outside of relationships, so why not inside? Fairness in the man’s competitive world brings out more easily accepted definitions of right and wrong, more practicality, and better justice.

· Fairness is more than theory. Reasonable common sense can both achieve fairness and promote more of it by minimizing follow-on resentment.

· Equality and fairness are contradictions in principle. The theoretical conflict stimulates wives to compete with husband, which has been shown elsewhere in this blog to turn men off.

· Virtually anything inter-gender can be labeled DS, if one cites differences, seeks excuses, or promotes self-centeredness. On the other hand, every adverse impact can be marginalized, if one seeks to judge right and wrong by fairness and push toward harmony.

What can wives do? They can do better with a game I’ll call Learn and Seek. Appeal more often to husband’s sense of fairness and test it often for softening his natural hard-heartedness.

· Wives can seek more tradeoffs, blending, and balancing of relationship effort and responsibility. They can do better, if they learn to push for greater fairness-in-fact and forget pursuit of equality-in-principle.

· Moms can set good examples daily. They can remind kids to play fair; they can forget the modern day emphasis on outcomes. Forget ‘Winning is everything!’ Return to ‘…it’s how one plays the game’.

· Husband’s primary goal in marriage is harmony in the home. Wife’s is a brighter future for their relationship. The former helps deliver the latter, so who has the greater interest in building harmony?

Summary: Striving for equality erodes harmony, frustrates wife, and can lead to resentment in one or both spouses. Fairness as primary measuring stick of relationship right and wrong can deliver both harmony for him and brighter future for her.

People like to claim that life’s not fair, but it gets fairer when wives flush away DS as ‘not in my home’.

At the end of November I told you a little about The Priests’ new album, Harmony. The trio have exceptional voices that blend in wonderful harmonies so I really enjoy listening to them sing. Before the album was released I interviewed each member of the trio about their music and their lives for several Irish and Canadian magazines and newspapers. Two of the pieces were included in the print editions of Senior Times and Ireland’s Own (the first part of a 2 part article) that were on the newsstands at the end of November/beginning of December.

This week Senior Times has posted my piece, Saintly Sounds, online. You can read it at:

Have you ever listened to a choir made up of all soloists? A choir of well-integrated voices can sou

Have you ever listened to a choir made up of all soloists?

A choir of well-integrated voices can sound great even if none of the members are fabulous singers, because their cooperation conceals their individul flaws. You don’t notice an individual performer’s vocal wobble, flatness, or pause for breath, because the vocalists on either side of him make up for his or her lapse. A well-conducted choir makes the most of these advantages, even planning ahead for them.

A choir of soloists, by contrast, doesn’t sound as good as it ought to. Each member may sound okay on their own, but put them all together and you get dischord – each is trying to be heard above the others, and each ends up yelling or squawking or quacking when they should be crooning.

The fact is that there are very few great soloists out there, who are truly worthy of performing alone.

I think there’s something that our local promoters and fighters can learn from a choir director. There are relatively few headline-worthy fighters, and few promoters with the financial wherewithal to put on high-value shows on a consistent basis. To make good matchups, opponents often have to be brought in from out of town or out of state at considerable cost. Boxers who are being built up get a reputation for being overly protected, because they haven’t fought all the other available local fighters in their weight class.

Instead of all trying to do their own thing, put on their own shows, and only match their fighters in guaranteed wins, it would be good for the fans to see some harmony between Upper Midwest promotions. The good news is that a number of local promoters nd managers have shown a willingness to work together this year. The results were mixed, but the effort was there.

The Fistic Mystic says: Yes, I know I’m being a pollyanna, but someone’s got to play the fool.

Yesterday I got a call from a couple needing access to our church building who did not have a key. I

Yesterday I got a call from a couple needing access to our church building who did not have a key. Immersed in several projects, I promised to make some calls and quickly arrange for someone to come open for them. An hour and ten minutes later, I got a call from the couple wondering what had happened. Oops! Absorbed in (other) tasks, I had forgotten to make the calls as promised. Twenty minutes later I was en route to church. Later in the evening I showed up to church to lead out in prayer meeting. It turned out someone else was told it was their turn so I yielded. This morning I received a call from someone ready to deliver foodstuffs at our church except no one is there to open the rooms. And the person who ordered the items? He is in California for the holidays. Hm. I headed to the church to open up. Miscues?

Lately I’ve been praying that Christ show me how to think. Being involved in different ministries in town and in other cities, my wife and I are often called on to perform duties we hadn’t planned on, or deadlines move up and one has to run to meet demands. Fodder?

We’ve all been there. Some of you much more than others. Y’know, lately I’ve come to realize that the coterie of daily responsibilities is much easier when I yield my mind completely to Christ, to be led at His Divine Will. Try it. It’s a powerful enthuser . Plus, as if that weren’t benefit enough, it comes with a big bonus. The more I practice this habit, the more and more I see a harmony of “coincidences” emerge where things “just work out.” Circumstances bend to fit the reworked schedule, people’s attitudes are softened in the face of unforeseen changes or demands, and Christ’s peace reigns in all hearts. It doesn’t cost me any more than if I insisted on doing things my way. So I’m learning to simply go along for the ride, on the King’s Highway.

Isn’t this what was intended by the angels who were heard on high? “And on earth Peace, and Good Will toward men.” The Peace that surpasses all understanding. He is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.

May Christ the LORD lead you and cover you with His righteousness today.

The Christmas Song – Shayne Orok

It’s only Christmas when they start playing Christmas songs in every store. Granted, they tend to start too early for some, but in my book, you can never play them too early. I’m one of those who find nothing wrong with listening to Christmas songs year-round and in fact, I enjoy listening to “Joy To The World” in the middle of July. These artists from YT are all ones that I’ve been planning to showcase in a full feature, but they also happened to recently upload Christmas songs and they really got me into the Christmas-y mood.

Do You Hear What I Hear – AJ Rafael

Harmonies for the win! I’ve been overly obsessed with harmonies lately and this was just the fix I needed. Anyhow, listen to the words of the song. “Said the king to the people everywhere /Listen to what I say /Pray for peace people everywhere /Listen to what I say/The child, the child/Sleeping in the night/He will bring us goodness and light.” It’s basically a song about the birth of Jesus from the viewpoint of the people around him. The little lamb, the shepherd, the three wise men… Do you think that perhaps they knew that something great was about to happen. Did they know that the newborn baby lying in a barn full of animals was someone great? I have a feeling they might have had an inkling.

White Christmas – Christina Grimmie

I’ve wished for a white Christmas for as long as I can remember. It may seem impossible to most, seeing as I do live very near to the equator. But one day I will wake to a snowy winter wonderland. I pray that your Christmas will be merry and bright, no matter if you get snow or not. I hope that you’ll be surrounded by those you love. Just remember why we celebrate December 25th. Don’t forget to say happy birthday to Jesus!

O Holy Night – Legaci

by Alina de Varona Christmas is within days and we all have an image of how this should all be playi

by Alina de Varona

Christmas is within days and we all have an image of how this should all be playing out. For some of us, it should look like something we’ve heard in a Christmas carol. For some of us, it’s something we saw in a fashion magazine or a store window. For others, it’s in trying to recreate the Xmases of our youth back in the country where we were born. For me, this Xmas this year will have been about losing my job 3 weeks before the big day, hosting a big cocktail party for my friends last week, and my son and I going to my Mom’s for Noche Buena.

I’m kinda pissed at my son for turning 18 and taking away my magical “fake Santa” powers, but I thank G-d every day for having him to love and for watching him grow up to be better than I was at any of his ages.

All year long I’m annoyed at my pain-in-the-butt Mom, but on December 27 she’s going to be 79 and I can’t tell you how much more thankful I become with every year that I still have her. No matter how many invitations I have, Noche Buena is our night with her, and we have seconds of her famous pernil, and arroz con frioles negros, and turron, and all that good stuff.

My cat, The Wizzard, should be bald by now with all the hair that gets on my coats, but I love his personality and the way he thinks I’m his mom. I’m thankful for all the love that comes out of such a small creature.

Yeah, I’ll do some stuff over the holidays that will not be big, musical, or splashy, but it’s my holidays and I’m thankful for whatever I have because there are others that have much less. Listen, I’m not a religious person. I don’t pray and I call the Superior Being God for a lack of a better name. So, in a most non-denominational way, I want to thank God for everything I have and ask him to look out for those that have nothing. Please, please be extra kind in getting them through their difficulties, and please make everyone reading this want to go out and be kind to a child who got nothing for Xmas, an old person that may not have been remembered by anyone, or an animal that’s been abused or neglected. God please make people treat everything and every one the way they want to be treated.

Feliz Navidad, mi gente. I wish you peace, love, and a generous heart.

Guest Author You are what you think! The power of thought is so powerful, what you think of when you

Guest Author

You are what you think!

The power of thought is so powerful, what you think of when you wake up in the morning will set the tone for the day ahead of you.

It’s easy to tell a persons’ predominant thoughts just by the way they live.

People who think positively enjoy a life filled with abundance, prosperity and endless possibilities. Their energy, through thinking positive thoughts, has a wonderful ripple effect on anyone in their presence.

Thoughts are powerful energy!

When we think of something, we send that energy out into the Universe, and the Universe will return that energy back to us. If the energy you emit is negative, then you can bet that negative frequency will be returned to you in same form.

What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning?

If your first thought is:

“Oh great, another boring day at work”
“There’s not enough time to do everything”
“I hate my job”
“I can’t stand the way I look”

By focusing on thoughts like these, especially when you first wake up, you’re setting the tone for your day.

But if you think powerful, positive thoughts in the morning, like:

“Thank you for this beautiful day”
“I’m gonna get so much done today”
“I love the way I look, and I love myself”
“I love my job and my coworkers”

You’ll reap the rewards by starting your day with a positive attitude!

Write down some positive affirmations that will reinforce a more positive way of thinking.

Recite them each day and you’ll be surprised how much more energy you’ll have. In no time, you’re gonna notice that people around you will hang around a little longer because of that wonderful energy.

Have you ever noticed that there’s always a person at a party that people seem to gravitate to?

Everyone calls them the “life of the party”. That person no doubt focuses on happiness, love and abundance and that powerfully positive energy reflects in their aura.

People are attracted to that uplifting energy like flies on honey and naturally they want to be close to that person.

Focus on what you have, be thankful for it, and learn to love yourself.

Think wonderfully positive thoughts and watch as people notice and start hanging around you more.

With so much fear and anxiety in the world right now, everyone can benefit from taking a moment to themselves to focus inward, to where our true strength and courage reside.

All the obstacles we’ve overcome in the past make up who we are today. Focusing on the present with a sense of gratitude and confidence will lay the foundation for an abundant future.

The power of positive thinking will change your life!

We humans have so many differences about which we’re so angry, I find it hard to believe we

We humans have so many differences about which we’re so angry, I find it hard to believe we haven’t annihilated each other, simply wiped the planet free. We don’t agree about religion, about politics, about race, about gender, about child-rearing, about climate change, health care, heaven, hell, happiness, ethics, education, money, motive, morality, or even movies; for example, some may believe “Avatar” represents film-making’s second coming, while others may find it a pleasant visual experience with a couple of nifty new tricks and a paper-thin plot, not nearly as industry-shaking or mind-altering as, say, “2001″ or even “Fantasia.” But I digress.

I like to discover people who agree with me. It helps to know I’m neither crazy nor alone. But I also like healthy debate and welcome differing opinions. It makes life interesting and confirms my belief that there can never be just one, fixed way of looking at anything on a planet with billions of people.

We’re getting better at accepting the notion of a multicultural family of man, but we’re not very accepting of differing opinions. We are equipped to locate, via cyberspace, those people who support, confirm and applaud our most cherished assumptions. We are also now used to seeing our thoughts in print. Validated and circulated, they may take on an out-sized importance. That, in turn, tempts us less to debate, where we might exchange ideas and perhaps learn something and more to fighting in order to make a point we believe is absolutely, incontrovertibly right.

It’s so tiring, especially at this time of year because, quite apart of any religious meaning, the holiday has come to stand for the possibility of good feelings and shared humanity. That possibility can seem light years away — as indeed it probably is — but the beauty of not knowing what an outcome will be is that it allows us to hope for the best one. That’s why I can’t help myself: this time of year I invariably bet that eventually (whenever that may be) we humans will spend more time focusing on what the vast majority of us probably want: safety, freedom from want and pain, love, a sense of purpose, and a sense of community as the basis from which to secure any or all of these things.

Wishing you the best of all possible worlds, now and going forward.

I remember reading about the concept of segment intending, when I read The Law of Attraction by Esth

I remember reading about the concept of segment intending, when I read The Law of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks a couple of years ago. Most people today would have heard of the law of attraction, whether they believe it or not. Basically the law of attraction says that whatever we think about, combined with emotion, we manifest into our lives. If we concentrate on it long enough it will appear, and it doesn’t matter if it is good or bad.

Segment intending is dividing your day into recognizable intervals and consciously setting different intentions for each segment. For example, when you first wake up in the morning, you are in the “awake but still in bed segment.” Then you might move into the “preparing for the day segment which includes showering, dressing, making breakfast.” Then it might be the “drive to work” segment. And then the “day at work” segment. Even within your work day, you have different segments – “meeting with a committee,” “talking to customers on the phone,” “having lunch with your friends.”

Segment intending tells you to pre-think each task that you do throughout the day. An example of this is the drive to work. What is the best possible outcome for this particular action? As you get in your car and prepare to drive, think about clear, safe roads, green lights all the way, and the perfect parking space awaiting you at your destination. As you are coming toward a traffic light, think green as you stare at the traffic lights. This may seem silly at first but give it a shot and see what happens.

Once you are at your destination, before you get out of the car, think about what would be the best possible outcome of you entering the next situation, or segment, and focus on that very thing happening.

Each segment has a purpose, and you can state your intentions briefly at the beginning of each segment. For example, for sleeping at night, you might set your intention
to have your body be relaxed, refreshed and restored, have wonderful dreams, and be more aware of your Higher Self or your Guide’s messages to you through your
dreams. These are different intentions than your journey to work, which you prefer to be safe, enjoyable, quick, and easy.

How to go about Segment Intending

1. Pick the length of time for your segment. It can be based upon the time it takes to perform a task, like driving to work, or set into a particlar length of time, but no more than an hour. Thirty minutes to an hour works well. Decide exactly when the segment will start and end.

2. Decide on your best outcome for that segment. It could be a list of tasks, a state of being, or both. For example, you might decide that you will strive to remain light hearted while you make phone calls to clients for 30 minutes.

3. When the segment start time arrives, start your segment with no second thoughts. Put your attention solely on the tasks for that segment and nothing else.

4. If you get interrupted during your segment, you need to decide whether the interruption is important enough for you to stop your segment (for instance, if a workmate
stops by your office for a chat). If the interruption is not important enough, keep going on your segment. If the interruption is important, make a conscious decision to stop your current segment and start a new one (one centered around the interruption).

Practice doing these segments throughout the day. Each segment is a training period for your mind, and will teach your mind to assist you in whatever you are doing.

Segment intending works even better with a friend, who can help you stay on track and stay focused. Whether you segment intend by yourself or with a friend, as you start segment intending, you discover that the segments start conforming to your new intentions. Sometimes it takes a few conscious intentions to overcome the inertia of years of complaining about commuting, but your experience begins to shift in the direction you are wanting. As you do it, look for evidence that a shift is occurring, and celebrate even the smallest, targeted event.

If you missed Sunday’s sermon (November 29) you can listen to it here.

Since this is my last post before Christmas, let me wish everyone a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!

I’m beginning a new sermon series on the Gospel of Luke. Since most movies and story books tend to tell a unified story of Christ’s birth, I thought I’d use this post to highlight how each Gospel tells a different story, highlighting different events.

MARK:

Doesn’t mention the birth of Jesus at all. The book begins with the ministry of John the Baptizer, then the baptism, temptation, and ministry of Jesus.

JOHN:

In his first 18 verses John presents the deity and incarnation of Jesus. He makes it very clear that Jesus was divinely present at creation, but “became flesh and lived among us“. But John never mentions Bethlehem, or gives details of Jesus birth.

MATTHEW:

Begins with a genealogy linking Jesus with David and Abraham.

We’re simply told that “His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.“

An angel appears to Joseph, reassuring him of Mary’s fidelity.

The birth of Jesus is never described. Chapter 2 begins after the birth of Jesus with the visit of the Magi.

Only Matthew tells of Jesus’ flight to Egypt and Herod’s execution of Bethlehem’s baby boys.

LUKE:

Begins with the promise of a son to Zechariah & Elizabeth.

An angel visits Mary predicting she would bear a miraculous son, even though she’s a virgin.

Mary’s song.

Birth of John the Baptizer.

Zechariah’s song.

Joseph & Mary travel to Bethlehem where Jesus is born.

Singing angels appear to shepherds and announce the birth of a Saviour, a Messiah.

8 days after his birth Jesus is presented at the temple where Simeon and Anna prophesy over him.

Luke tells the only account of Jesus childhood when in 2:41-51 he describes Jesus’ visit to the temple at Passover when he was 12 years old.

I appreciate the efforts people make to consolidate these four accounts into one story. I think that having one story makes it simpler to remember all the facts. But generally, I’m cautious of efforts to harmonise the Gospels.

It seems to me that when we attempt to consolidate the Gospel stories we’re saying that the four writers made mistakes, or overlooked information. While harmonisation may simplify the story, we do ourselves a disservice as Bible students in the process.

Did Luke really not know that Jesus’ family spent time in Egypt?

Was Matthew completely unaware of the angels singing to the shepherds?

Did Mark not know how or where Jesus was born?

Did John forget important arguments to support his statement that “The Word became flesh.”?

Each of the Gospel writers told the story differently because they were writing to different audiences with slightly different emphases. While Matthew highlights fulfilled prophesy, Luke fills the pages with people rejoicing at the birth of a Saviour. The two Gospels present two perspectives of the same event and we can dwell on each perspective and benefit from it. We lose something important when we merge the separate accounts into one generic story.

Have you considered the role each of the Gospels have in telling of Jesus birth?

Do you have a favorite one? As I said in my sermon, I relate to John who gets straight to the point and doesn’t require me to interpret his story.

Since only two Gospels describe the birth of Christ, does this mean it’s unimportant? Where does his birth rank in importance compared to other events in Jesus’ life?

Negativity wastes time and resources. If not careful it can affect your physical and mental health. We can more easily avoid negativity coming from people we only meet occasionally. But what if that ‘circle of negativity’ was at home or had embedded at your work place and you’ve had to face it every day? How easily can you avoid it then? Read more and learn how to develop a positive mental attitude to live a fulfilled life! Read more

Negative thinking can make all sorts of things incredibly difficult.

It is like a leak in your confidence bucket – constantly drip-drip-dripping away your confidence and self esteem.

We all know that we should think more positively, or avoid too many negative thoughts, but it is notoriously difficult to stop. Negative thinking can be useful to help assess the possible pitfalls in a potential plan of action, but you need to be able to turn it on and off at will.

Otherwise, negative thoughts will sabotage your self belief, your confidence and your achievements.

Stop Negative Thinking teaches you a model for assessing the effects of your thoughts and changing them, plus it helps you on an unconscious level by showing you how to let negative thoughts drift by without taking any notice.

After all – you can think anything as long as it doesn’t have an emotional impact on you.

Guest Author

An effective way to ensure an abundance of happiness in your life is to create deliberate progress in your personal growth.

Each one of us has an innate desire for progress in our lives. We want to know that our lives are going somewhere: that our lives are moving forward in line with our best efforts.

Inevitably, we encounter obstacles. Sometimes, these are events that create problems over which we do not have any control of the outcome. If we allow ourselves to be deeply affected by them, then it makes it difficult to find a solution.

In times like this, you need to recognise that even though you are not in control over the event or the outcome, you are in control of your response.

Accept that you can’t do anything about the event, and decide to move forward in spite of the event. Often, there are important lessons and opportunities that will come out of these times of adversity. Read more

Why Harmony Is Required To Attract Money and All Dreams

When our energy is in alignment with what we intend to attract into our lives, we do. If we are in a state of jealously, anger, resentment or a whole host of other less than positive energetic states then we are attracting situations in alignment with that energy. There is more but this is the essence of the Law of Attraction.

Let’s look at money. What is the one thing most of us do when it comes to money? Nope, saying we want more is number 2. The first thing most everyone does is to compare. If you feel you have a lot of money or nearly none at all, you arrive at that feeling based on a comparison. When we compare especially with judgment, we are out of harmony.

We we judge ourselves in comparison to another, including wealth, we are saying we are not perfect. You see “T AM That, I AM”
