Ski jump is part of the new year traditions in Finland.

For many decades Finns have been following Four Hills Tournament from Germany and Austria during their Christmas vacation. The ski jumper who has most points from all the four competitions wins the tournament. This win is considered almost as important as winning a world championship or an olympic gold medal.

Today the last competition is held in Bischofshofen. Many Finns have won the tournament and individual competitions but this year there weren’t any big expectations as Janne Ahonen, the most succesfull ski jumper in the history of Four Hills Tournament, ended his career after last season. Will Harri Olli become the next big Finnish ski jumper? He is following the footsteps of world’s best ever ski jumper Matti Nykänen both in the good and the bad,.
