• The Mirror’s Jim Shelley included Harry in one of his Soundbites of the Week – very funny.
• Pete Dillon-Trenchard of Den of Geek wrote about his visit to TV Burp for a recording and gives some interesting insight for those that have never visited. Still over at Den of Geek, they recommended TV Burp as one of the favourites!
• Coventry Telegraph have revealed that PRS for Music have 99 recordings of the EastEnders theme tune registered, including one by Mr Harry Hill, TV Burp and Coach Trip’s David Quantick discusses EastEnders for The Telegraph and Rich Pelley of The Times interviewed Patsy Palmer and discussed Bianca’s TV Burp “appearance”.
• Rolando Villazón from Popstar to Opera Star’s appearance on The K Factor have been discussed by Geoff Brown at The Times and Tom Service at The Guardian, who suggested a duet between the two Rolandos!

• MSN Entertainment has featured Harry as one of their “Famous reinventions: celebs who switch careers.”

• The Times’ Dominic Maxwell reveals that after his interview with Lee Mack, Lee was going to be “getting drunk with Harry Hill!”

Harry is re-launching his range of Harry’s Nuts with the new packaging ahead of Fairtrade Fortnight later this month. Harry says:

This new design screams ‘Harry’s Nuts!’. Straightaway you know it’s to do with me and you can see it’s Fairtrade. It’s also fun. I’ve been heavily involved in getting the taste right for Harry’s Nuts! and with the pack design. I’m working with Liberation and it’s great that the company is run to benefit the farmers and their families.

The nuts are available from Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, as well as pubs, vending machines and other locations – if your favourite supermarket or other location hasn’t got Harry’s Nuts, ask for them to get them! Comic Relief are backing nut company Liberation and the nuts are supporting Malawi farmers.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2010 is from 22nd February to 7th March, and people can swap their usual nut snacks for Harry’s Nuts! as part of the Fairtrade Foundation’s The Big Swap. For more details, visit www.thebigswap.org.

The two shows (4pm, 7pm), which are on during London Fashion Week, is in Bristol and will feature Harry Potter star Emma Watson’s fairtrade range, ranges from Debenhams, Laura Ashley and many more. The show is endorsed by the Fairtrade Foundation and the Ethical Fashion Forum, with all Fairwear fashion houses using certified Fairtrade cotton or are members of the World Fair Trade Organisation.

Star of Casualty James Redmond will be compère for the fashion show and Tara Starlet from BBC Three’s “Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts” will also be at the event.

• Harry Hill Fansite’s poll has made the news! Comedy.co.uk reported our poll results showing fans don’t want Harry on Sky1. Talking of Comedy.co.uk, Harry came third for TV Burp in the Best British TV Panel Show/Satire in their 2009 awards.

• There was no win for Harry at the NTAs, losing out to Gavin and Stacey, the Broadcast awards, losing out to Outnumbered, and at the LAFTAs, losing out to JLC and The Inbetweeners.

Harry has had a bumper year, with 25 episodes of TV Burp, high accolades for Harry, new books, Harry’s Nuts, standup galore and the launch of the much wanted TV Burp Gold DVD. On a more personal note, Harry has supported a number of charities and good causes, helping to raise the profile of many area.

For the site, it has been a great year. With the blossoming News Alert service offering the latest news to many and news coming from all directions, the website has had record numbers visiting each month. Back in February, HHF started its Twitter journey, with fans flocking to follow @HarryHillFans.  With nearly 2,000, followers, it was very hard to imagine the service would be so popular, but the follower numbers have beat all expectations. As well as this, the site itself has got involved in a variety of events over the year, supporting Red Nose Day 2009 with Twitter and website theming, as well as Fairtrade Fortnight, No Surrender Cancer Charity and many more! A personal favourite of the year has been finding Cloth Ears, the makers of the now famous Knitted Character, who have helped to provide many adults and children alike with a much loved cuddly toy of their own.

Looking into the future, it looks like another great year for Harry, with more TV Burp already lined up, You’ve Been Framed back, Tim returning and much more. In addition to all this, Harry is returning to the past with his TV Burp Book, due out in October, that is going back to the days of the Harry Hill Funbook of the Channel 4 era.

Big things are planned for the future of Harry Hill Fansite. Currently, HHF is collaborating with British Comedy Guide in creating episode guides for the episodes of TV Burp, bringing you the highlights of episodes, recurring elements and background tips on the joking from the show. More news is always on the way, with more videos, picture specials, art and polls, with the maybe even a new forum!
