yaaa..this may be the “as usual” scenario in your city. I have seen this decorated elephant on the road of Ahmedabad. The Jagannath temple,which is obviously famous in the city has many elephants which are used to pull the chariots of the God,when the almighty moves down to the town to see it!!!! We ,as the proud Hindu have so many rituals,festivals,moments of prey and enjoy that,I think nobody else would have….The use of animals in our festivals are due to some valid reasons as they are the partners of human race since the modern evolution theory started. So be with me in the respect of this Gajraj…see its walking style…

१.इतने भारी शरीर वाला हाथी छोटे से अंकुश सा वश में किया जाता है. सब जानते हैं की अंकुश परिमाण में हाथी से बहुत छोटा होता है. प्रज्जवलित दीपक आसपास अंधकार को ख़त्म कर देता है. जबकि परिमाण में अन्धकार तो दीपक से कहीं अधिक विस्तृत एवं व्यापक होता है.वज्र के प्रभाव से बडे-बडे पर्वत टूट जाते हैं. जबकि वज्र पर्वत से बहुत छोटा होता है.
चाणक्य के इस कथन से आशय यह है की अंकुश से इतने बडे हाथी को बाँधना, छोटे से वज्र से विशाल एवं उन्मत पर्वतों का टूटना, इतने घने अन्धकार का छोटे से प्रज्जवलित दीपक से समाप्त हो जाना इसी सत्य के प्रमाण है की तेज ओज की ही विजय होती है. तेज में ही अधिक शक्ति होती है.
२.जिस प्राणी के पास बुद्धि है उसके पास सभी तरह का बल भी है. वह सभी कठिन परिस्थितियों का मुकाबला सहजता से करते हुए उस पर विजय पा लेता है. बुद्धिहीन का बल भी निरर्थक है, क्योंकि वह उसका उपयोग ही नहीं कर पता. बुद्धि के बल पर ही के छोटे से जीव खरगोश ने महाबली सिंह को कुएँ में गिराकर मार डाला. यह उसकी बुद्धि के बल पर ही संभव हो सका.
३.यह एक कटु सच्चाई है की किसी भी ढंग से समझाने पर भी कोई दुष्ट सज्जन नहीं बन जाता, जैसे घी-दूध से सींचा गया, नीम का वृक्ष मीठा नहीं हो जाता.

Dalam dua hari ini, tiba-tiba saja dapat informasi mengenai Pertemuan Ilmiah Tahunan Himpunan Ahli Teknik Hidraulik Indonesia yang akan diadakan di Palembang pada tanggal 21 – 23 Agustus 2008. Sudah cukup lama tidak bergelut dengan bidang keairan, maka perlu waktu juga untuk refresh kembali.

Alhamdulilah, data sudah dapat tinggal menganalisa. Sedikit masalahnya adalah perangkat lunak yang akan digunakan ada di komputer yang ada di Bandung, sedangkan makalah harus masuk pada tanggal 31 Juli ini. Untungnya Kak Taufik, sang sekjur, bisa melakukan negosiasi ke panitia agar dapat menerima makalah sampai tanggal 7 Agustus 2008, asalkan extended abstract bisa dikirim pada tanggal 31 Juli ini.

Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, maka tulisan yang akan dibuat rencananya berjudul “Pola sedimentasi pada ModADA: studi pendahuluan”. Makalah ini rencananya akan merupakan makalah pertama dari penelitian-penelitian yang akan dilakukan selanjutnya. Makalah ini akan ditulis bersama dengan Dr. Edy Sutriyono dan Taufik Ari Gunawan, ST., MT. yang akan mempresentasikannya, karena kemungkinan besar pada tanggal tersebut masih berada di Bandung.
