<p>Drudge had this story as his header&#8230;.from the AP, so what else is new. Fox reported this morning that he spent over 50 million&#8211; &#8220;left over&#8221;&#8211;from his presidential race just for this primary to knock off Hayworth. This report says 20 mil&#8211; either way, this left over bit has me stoked. Look, I am no fan particularly of Hayworth, but after the disaster you helped bring upon us, please go away. And not to spend your money, when so many close House and Senate seats were lost.. too much.  The only good thing out of your disaster was bringing Sarah out of Alaska.</p>
<p>&#8220;Once labeled a vulnerable incumbent, the four-term Arizona Republican is the clear front-runner against challenger J.D. Hayworth after spending some $20 million and casting his GOP opponent as a late-night infomercial huckster in a series of devastating ads. The primary is Tuesday.</p>
<p>McCain, who turns 74 on Aug. 29, has survived the deadly 1967 explosion on the USS Forrestal, 5 1/2 years in a Vietnam POW camp after being shot down near Hanoi and skin cancer. Politically, he has persisted through the Keating Five savings and loan scandal, and two failed bids for the White House.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>&#8220;I have stood up and led the fight as a fiscal conservative and a leader on national defense and a strong supporter of the men and women who are fighting and sacrificing for this nation,&#8221;</strong> McCain told a woman who questioned his record at a town-hall meeting last Thursday. <strong>Yea, fiscal conservative and border security.. flip flop.</strong></p>

<title><![CDATA[The Leaked USCIS Memo and the Loony Bin Attacks]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week, somebody (who, according to my sophisticated profiling skills, is a creepy middle-aged man with a sketchy mustache who lives in his mother&#8217;s basement and uses a Confederate flag as a bed sheet) leaked <a href="http://www.dreamactivist.org/wp-content/uploads/USCIS_memo.pdf" target="_blank">this internal USCIS memorandum</a>, which is designed to promote &#8220;family unity, foster economic growth, achieve significant process improvements and reduce the threat of removal for certain individuals present in the United States without authorization.&#8221;</p>
<p>At this <a href="http://merrymerryquitecontrary.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/scared-face.jpg" target="_blank">terrifying prospect</a>, the members of far-right brigade had mild, self-induced heart attacks, and everybody from our friends John and Ken at KFI on the best coast (colloquially known as KKKFI) to the supremacist training camps in Michigan started ringing alarm bells about &#8220;shamnesty&#8221;.</p>
<p>At this point, they&#8217;ve racked up enough points to qualify for the loony bin.  Let&#8217;s review:</p>
<p>1. &#8220;Deferred action for immigrants who <a href="http://www.boston.com/news/education/higher/articles/2010/06/19/harvard_student_wont_face_deportation/" target="_blank">came to the country as 4 year olds, went to Harvard, and want to become oncologists to find a cure for cancer?</a> Ridiculous. Un-American.  Heresy.  How could they possibly contribute to this country?&#8221;</p>
<p>Of course, an attack on DREAM-eligible youth.  The memo suggests deferred action for DREAM-eligible youth, and the far-right is freaking out over this one, because deporting aspiring doctors, teachers, lawyers, and engineers is reasonable.  Imposing a self-created brain drain is the best thing for America.  Because we have too many college-educated citizens, and we really should put a cap on that.</p>
<p>LOONY POINTS:  A quadrillion.</p>
<p>2. <a href="http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/07/no-citizenship-for-you-tpm-rounds-up-the-anti-immigration-gopers-targeting-birthright-citizenship.php" target="_blank">&#8220;Let&#8217;s throw out the 14th amendment!&#8221;</a> Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX), Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), senatorial candidate J.D. Hayworth are really passionate about proposing a constitutional amendment to ensure that only the children of citizens can be citizens.  According to Graham, &#8220;Birthright citizenship, I think, is a mistake.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 14th amendment states, and I quote, &#8220;All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.&#8221;  Are you really sure that something intended to secure equality for all people should be overhauled? This wonderful addition to the Constitution was put in place because a long time ago, black people didn&#8217;t have any rights.  They were called &#8220;slaves&#8221;.  They were treated like cattle- constantly humiliated, separated from their families, and doing back-breaking work with little reward.  We wouldn&#8217;t want anything like that to happen again, would we?</p>
<p>We know what you&#8217;re doing.  We know that you don&#8217;t want the children of immigrants to have citizenship, because it simply isn&#8217;t FAIR.  It hurts so much!  Just like gay marriage.  Every time two men kiss, it just hurts me, real deep inside. It would be the end of the world to have it be, you know, legal.  I mean, can you imagine!? Two men&#8230; kissing!  Legally! Similarly&#8230; people who are born here&#8230; getting citizenship!?  It&#8217;s unthinkable.  The mind reels.</p>
<p>LOONY POINTS: 2,500</p>
<p>**For full disclosure, my grandparents came to this country from Chile for a year in 1955, my grandmother gave birth to my father, and they then returned to Chile after 8 months.  My father (yes, an American citizen by birth) left behind a dictatorship in Chile in the 80s to work in the United States.  He is now an executive in the aerospace industry.  Every time I see my dad, I see all the damage being done to this country by birthright citizenship.  It&#8217;s pretty awful.</p>
<p>3. &#8220;Let&#8217;s deport citizens!&#8221;</p>
<p>Representative Duncan Hunter (R-CA) has suggested that he would deport a natural-born citizen child with undocumented parents.  &#8220;You can look and say, &#8216;You&#8217;re a mean guy. That&#8217;s a mean thing to do. That&#8217;s not a humanitarian thing to do.&#8217; We simply cannot afford what we&#8217;re doing right now,&#8221; said Hunter, also adding: &#8220;And we&#8217;re not being mean. We&#8217;re just saying it takes more than walking across the border to become an American citizen.&#8221;</p>
<p>Seriously?  What does it take to be an American citizen, Mr. Hunter? Do I have to be white, rich, landowning? Because in that case, you may enjoy the east coast circa 1750.</p>
<p>LOONY POINTS: 5 stars.</p>
<p>4. &#8220;Deny access to permanent residence for current TPS holders who have escaped horrific conditions and war torn countries!&#8221;</p>
<p>Among the elements of the memo to which the far-right objects is access to permanent residence by current TPS holders.</p>
<p>Immigrants who have Temporary Protected Status are those who have left behind countries that are in shambles.  And when I say shambles, I mean shambles.  I mean <a href="http://www.savedarfur.org/" target="_blank">genocide in Sudan</a>.  I mean <a href="//www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2010/haiti.quake/]" target="_blank">7.0 earthquakes in Haiti</a>.   I mean the mass <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/07/world/africa/07congo.html" target="_blank">gang-raping of women in the Congo</a>.  I mean &#8220;ongoing armed conflict within the state&#8221;, &#8220;environmental disaster resulting in a substantial, temporary disruption of living conditions&#8221;, and &#8220;extraordinary and temporary conditions in the state that prevent nationals from returning in safety&#8221;.</p>
<p>The memo doesn&#8217;t even propose to increase the number of TPS visas available.  It just proposes that maybe giving people legal recourse to apply for permanent residency might be reasonable, so they don&#8217;t have to wonder if they&#8217;re going to be sent back to <a href="http://www.worldpress.org/africa/1561.cfm" target="_blank">hell on earth.</a></p>
<p>The members of the far-right would deny people who escaped genocide, total destruction by 7.0 earthquakes, and systematic gang-rape to come to the U.S. the mental comfort of knowing that they are safe from deportation.</p>
<p>LOONY POINTS: 45, and Mother Teresa does somersaults in her grave.</p>
<p>5.  &#8220;Family unity? For military families? Who cares, they&#8217;re illegals!&#8221;</p>
<p>They claim to support America&#8217;s troops, but they don&#8217;t seem to care if our bravest and proudest come home from tours of duty to find that their spouses and children have been deported.  The memo proposes preserving family unity for the spouses and children of active duty military service members, and giving them housing, medical, and dental services.  Given the sacrifices these families are making, it&#8217;s the very least we can do for the men and women and uniform.</p>
<p>LOONY POINTS: Stupid^nth degree</p>
<p>TOTAL LOONY POINTS:  Too close to call&#8230; Just kidding! Based on this very scientific measurement, they&#8217;re crazy!</p>
<p>So, that&#8217;s the story. They&#8217;re officially totally disconnected from reality.  They&#8217;re officially rank and file members of the loony bin- which doesn&#8217;t require birthright citizenship, mind you&#8230;</p>

When the opportunity presents itself for me to laugh, rub and smear it in someone&#8217;s face that I won and they lost &#8211; I WILL jump at the opportunity to do so! Why? Because I&#8217;m a vindictive person. </p>
<p>So you must know than that a huge smile crossed my face today when I read the headlines &#34;Martin drops out of Governor&#8217;s race.&#34; My first thought was &#8216;oh, karma&#8217;s a bitch huh, Ms. Fremont?&#8217; : ) </p>
<p>Yes you heard me correctly, Dean Martin is no longer a candidate in the August Primary race for Governor. Which means Jan Brewer is going to be the candidate for the Republican Party in November. Not that Martin was even a threat to her, but it&#8217;s the point that he dropped out of the race that makes me smile. Let&#8217;s be real though &#8211; the man should have dropped out of the race months ago. He shouldn&#8217;t have even ran for Governor in the first place. Was he that naive? Did he really think he had a chance? He should have re-run for Treasurer &#8211; than he&#8217;d have a job and would be a couple dollars richer in November. -shrugs- But hey &#8211; no one ever listens to me. </p>
<p>And than there is J.D. Hayworth! Ah, I love it! He has no chance in hell of winning the Primary in August now. I mean for someone who claims to be a &#8216;tea party&#8217; activist and against government spending, he sure knows how to spend government money! He was involved in an infomercial back in 2007 for a company called National Grants Conferences, a company purporting to teach people the secrets of getting oodles of no-strings-attached grant money from the government. Well turns out the company was nothing but a scam. Come on &#8211; free government grant money? The ONLY reason Hayworth even participated in the infomercial back in 2007 was to make some money. I find it ironic that he isn&#8217;t willing to tell us how much he made off that infomercial. I&#8217;m sure if he REALLY wanted to be honest with the American people, he could go back and look at his tax records. I mean you do have to claim that as income on your taxes right? : ) Either way, he is a hypocrite and in my book &#8211; he&#8217;s right up there with Dean Martin on my list of &#8216;crooks.&#8217; I mean if something SEEMS to good to be truth &#8211; reality check Hayworth &#8211; it is! So how you did not know that you were promoting a scam is beyond me. Anyway here&#8217;s the video he did &#8211; check it out for yourself! I&#8217;m not making this shit up -</p>

<p>The News isn&#8217;t just News anymore. Most of the time what you see on television or read on the internet is carefully orchestrated distribution of bias, dogma, and mind control. This site was birthed because MSM (Main Stream Media) does not report all the news or a conservative view point. I remember the day that my gaze turned to Cable News, it was September 11, 2001. <img class="alignright" src="http://stufffromthelab.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/wtc-9-11.jpg?w=388&#038;h=467" alt="" width="388" height="467" />When the World Trade Center was hit<em>, the second time,</em> by terrorists and the world was in chaos over how many attacks there would be by the end of the day. I recall fishing through the various Cable News Networks. If Fox News stopped covering the WTC attack, I would switch to CNN, MSNBC I even watched Headline News! I fanned across internet sites; now not just the news mega giants but anyone else who saw this coming, Jihad Watch, Atlas Shrugs, MEMRI, various Christian sites: Olive Tree Views, Worldview w/Brannon Howse. I was scouring for information. When I started my search I began to realize that there is a lot out there in the way of <em>real</em> information, <em>crazy paranoid</em> information, and fluffy puffy stuff. It was a matter to discern my way through all that, go back to what the Bible already Tells me is going to happen and then make sense of what is going on out there in this crazy world.</p>
<h2>It&#8217;s not all News</h2>
<p>The hardest topic for me to cover is not Terrorists, Earthquakes, War, bombs, political takeovers, New World Order Agendas, Evil policy making, in the end the most grievous of all topics to cover is the <span style="text-decoration:underline;">APOSTASY of the Church</span>.<a href="http://news4themasses.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/church_pew2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-1299" title="church_pew2" src="http://news4themasses.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/church_pew2.jpg?w=261&#038;h=181" alt="" width="261" height="181" /></a> The great falling away of the body of Christ. When the light goes out and the salt has lost it&#8217;s flavor what is a girl to do? The only thing I can do, and the only thing I would ever recommend anyone do is, Look up! Not look up and ignore what is going on, Look to Jesus Christ for the answers. Look to the Word of God,your Abba in Heaven that created the Heavens and the Earth, and find solace in the Peace of Christ Jesus who already warned us of all these crazy things that are happening on this earth. It&#8217;s one thing for the &#8216;World&#8217; not to believe (John 15) but when &#8216;the body&#8217; (of Christ) stops believing, my soul writhes in mourning. I see many who rather believe in the Mayan Calendar than in the GOD who created them. I see many who believe that all &#8216;this&#8217; is NORMAL CRAZY, and it&#8217;s <strong>not</strong> pointing to the Judgment coming upon this earth. So if you <strong>are</strong> <em>CRAZY</em> (thinking that Jesus is coming again just like He said He would) then you&#8217;re <em>NORMAL</em> to me. And you&#8217;ll at least be willing to hear what I have to say.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Living in Arizona can be very interesting at times, especially when it comes to politics. We&#8217;re a basically libertarian state with Republican tendencies, but especially in Phoenix it&#8217;s not unknown for Democrats to get elected. Our previous governor was a Democrat, for example, as is the Congressman who represents my district. We voted GOP in the 2008 Presidential Election, but it was a close thing, and I&#8217;m pretty sure we would&#8217;ve barely gone for Obama had not a certain Arizona resident been on the ballot.</p>
<p>Yes, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_mccain">John McCain</a> is one of Arizona&#8217;s Senators and is currently in a tough primary re-election bid against former Congressman and former right-wing talk show host, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J_D_Hayworth">J D Hayworth</a>. This means I&#8217;m getting to see lots of fun ads for John McCain.</p>
<p>McCain used to be a maverick, or so he said in his book, but these days he says he&#8217;s not a maverick and never claimed he was, not even in his book. He&#8217;s someone I used to have a lot of respect for, but I have since lost any that I used to have. This is at least in part due to bullshit like that &#8220;I am/am not a maverick&#8221;, but it is also due to his behavior during the 2008 elections, his choice of Sarah Palin to be his running mate (I initially thought she was a good choice, but I can admit I was wrong), and, lately, due to his ads here in Arizona.</p>
<p>Now McCain is a Republican. I think if asked, one of the many things people would agree with is the notion that the Republicans are against welfare, against government, and against government spending for the sake of job creation. Given that, can someone please explain to me McCain&#8217;s recent ad?</p>

<p>So basically McCain is telling us here that we should be happy that he&#8217;s brought so much government money to our state; money which has created many jobs and which is, arguably, a form of welfare. So explain to me how this is ok? How is it alright to have government created jobs when they are military jobs, but not in any other way? Isn&#8217;t this basically just the same thing the GOP claims to be against?</p>
<p>Oh, well. I&#8217;m very unsurprised by anything McCain does these days. I hope he loses to Hayworth. I don&#8217;t think Hayworth is electable on a state level and I think the Democrats stand a damn good chance of getting back into the Senate. I hope so, anyhow. We can certainly do without a loser like McCain.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Mexican Immigration ]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>By now the we have heard every bit of ridiculous when it comes to illegal immigration from cities &#8220;banning&#8221; Arizona to the foolish emails circulating about <a title="ICE" href="http://www.snopes.com/politics/immigration/ingenuity.asp" target="_self">ICE</a>. On all sides of the argument I hear moronic discussion with respect to the new<a title="AZ Law" href="http://azgovernor.gov/documents/SB1070AmendedByHB2162.pdf" target="_self"> Arizona law</a>. I, unlike Eric Holder, just got done reading it the bill and would like to have a real conversation about immigration into our Country, a conversation that most politicians would never have.</p>
<p><strong>Why do Mexican immigrants come to this Country? </strong></p>
<p>1. To create a better life for their families and themselves, which essentially means they come here to work.  If it was better in Mexico they would just stay there, but the US still holds a dream for many people of a better life, the same dream I would contend that many of your great grandparents had when they arrived.</p>
<p>2. To escape the corruption of an incompetent Government. As hard as it might be for us to believe with the massive corruption that exists in our Government, Mexico is far worse as are many other regimes around the world. We still have a small piece of paper called the Constitution that arguably is greatest document every written. The vision, sacrifice, and blood shed by our forefathers created the greatest Country ever, and other people look to us and still want to be one of us because of that document.</p>
<p>3. Social Welfare &#8211; The US government has created a system of social programs that create a &#8220;better&#8221; lifestyle for many immigrants then their Country of origin. These social programs along with the 14th Amendment, which provides US Citizenship to anyone born here, create a large movement of people here that literally steal from US taxpaying citizens.</p>
<p>4. Criminal Activity &#8211; Most of the criminal activity is related to drugs and the movement of them across the border. The kidnappings, murders, and other crimes can likely be traced back to drug trafficking.</p>
<p><strong>How are US Citizens benefited and harmed?</strong></p>
<p>1. Inexpensive labor provides us with lower cost good and services. You find a large number of Mexicans working in construction &#38; agriculture. Companies hire illegal immigrants not necessarily because the hourly wage they pay them is any lower then another a US citizen. I have first hand knowledge of the wages paid to illegal immigrants and the hourly rate can be higher then the US minimum wage. I contend all of the bullshit associated with hiring a worker from the US that drives the cost of that employee up is why illegal immigrants are attractive to companies. Employer payroll taxes, workers compensation insurance, state unemployment insurance, general liability insurance, health insurance, overtime rules, &#38; union demands make it expensive and difficult to have legal employees. Also employees can be a pain in the ass, some states are worse then others, but firing an employee can take multiple reviews, documentation, and then there is always the chance a company still has to defend itself in a lawsuit. These reasons are the same reasons companies also hire 1099 Contractors instead of employees. Employees and all the associated hassle  increases the cost to do business. A 1099 Contractor or illegal immigrant is simple &#8211; The company asks the person to do the work for a price, the person completes the work and gets paid the price. There is nothing real confusing about this arrangement which allows a company to do whatever it does best.</p>
<p>1A. If you live in the south you can probably thank a Mexican who built your house. I have seen all kinds of people in construction in Texas, many of them Mexicans. I stand in amazement of the work ethic and quality of work they produce. I have also seen some of them do terrible work as well and have job sites that look like a third world country. The color of their skin and their immigration status has no bearing on the quality of work. In general I would say most of the Mexican construction workers I have dealt with are decent people who do good work for a fair price. I am at times frustrated because they don&#8217;t speak English very well but these are not the people who we should want to ship back to Mexico.</p>
<p>2. Increased sales tax revenue &#8211; Illegal immigrants still make purchases that have a state sales tax attached to it. You hear the argument that illegals don&#8217;t pay taxes, which may be true with respect to income taxes, but for states like Texas that do not have income tax, the state is still getting money from the illegal workers because they still consume just like any US citizen. Be careful making the argument that they don&#8217;t pay taxes, that is not fully true.</p>
<p>3. Increased medical costs &#8211; We have as a policy in the US to treat all patients who come through the door of the ER. Mexicans come here for this social benefit and US citizens pay for this with higher medical premiums, higher medical costs, and higher taxes.</p>
<p>4. Higher taxes to support social welfare programs.</p>
<p>5. Increased risk of harm due to drug, criminal, and gang activity.</p>
<p><strong>The Political Parties Interest?</strong></p>
<p>The current Democrats or Progressives want illegal immigrants here because they want votes. Progressives want to enslave the Mexicans just like they have another group of citizens with social welfare programs in order to keep the votes coming in. Progressives love the poor who are addicted to Government handouts. The more entitlements they can give to a group the more they can control the group. Power and control of the absent minded sheep is the goal of the Progressive Party and by handing out Amnesty to Mexicans they look like the are &#8220;fighting&#8221; for them, when in actuality they are fighting to control them. Don&#8217;t ever be fooled by a Progressive!</p>
<p>Some Republican&#8217;s want illegal immigrants here because they want votes. Republicans know the benefit to business that is provided by illegal Mexicans and therefore the benefit provided to the US Citizens. To them this outweighs the negatives that come along with illegal immigration so they would far rather keep things just as they are &#8211; by keeping illegals illegal. Republicans also do not want to disenfranchise Mexicans because they know, just as Progressive have done with the black vote, that if they attempt any type of real reform they will be labeled as racist Mexican haters. Just see Arizona right now.</p>
<p><strong>How would I fix it?</strong></p>
<p>Simple&#8230;</p>
<p>1. Secure the border &#8211; secure the border by building a physical wall. Right now the Government has Border agents, drones, cameras, communication systems and all this so called technology that costs a fortune to install and operate.  A wall is a one time investment that will cost a ton up front, but costs very little to maintain.</p>
<p>2. In the wall &#8211; make a bunch of entrances where Mexicans can come, get a worker ID and come to this country and work. The worker status can not carry with it all the regulations and so called employee protections, if it does then illegals will still be favored over US workers. After a period of time and &#8220;assimilating&#8221; into our Country by learning English and a bit about our history grant them full citizenship.</p>
<p>3. Reform the tax code to get rid of Income tax and replace it with a national 2% sales tax that taxes all consumers equally. This eliminates the problem of collecting taxes from illegal workers. It also creates a level playing field for US workers. One of the reasons, as stated earlier, that companies hire illegals is because of the employment cost. No IRS means no additional payroll taxes which now makes a US worker competitive with the illegal worker.</p>
<p>4. Repeal the 14th Amendment. This was designed in the era of slavery to ensure babies of slaves or former slaves were considered citizens. This was never intended for Mexican women running across the border at 9 months to get their new baby and themselves into our welfare system.</p>
<p>5. Deny social services to illegal immigrants. Treat them at the hospital and after their condition is corrected send them back home to Mexico.</p>
<p>6. Send the bill to Mexico for hospital and incarceration costs. Why are we responsible for citizens of another country who come to our Country and steal from us?</p>
<p>7. Decriminalize drugs. Whoa&#8230;. that one doesn&#8217;t fit into the talking points of a right wing fascist nut job like me? Your body is your temple&#8230; you are an individual&#8230; if you want to destroy your life with drugs&#8230; who am I, who is the State, who is anyone to tell you how to treat your body? Or we could keep fighting the &#8220;War on Drugs&#8221; which will never be won unless we are willing to give up every individual right and throw out the Constitution. You can not be a free society, a free people, and stop drug use. Absolute control over people that tracks every movement and violates all your rights is the only effective way to stop drug use. Are you willing to give up your natural rights so your neighbor puts the bong down? Prohibition created crime syndicates and moved alcohol underground. Drugs are underground and run by Mexican drug cartels that we are fighting. Prohibition did not work and the &#8220;War on Drugs&#8221; doesn&#8217;t work. Unfortunately the big government right wingers can not admit this because they are as usual protecting you from yourself.</p>
<p><strong>Summary</strong></p>
<p>Immigrants have made this country what it is today and frankly I will take every one of them that wants to come here to work and follow the rule of law. I also want to get rid of every one of them who comes here and steals from me, flies the flag of another Country, and thinks the United States owes them something based on the color of their skin. These are communist and socialists and I dislike them as much as the current bunch of socialist and communists that are running this country.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When did we cross that line in America?</p>
<p>When did we decide that it is better to elect the more partisan person than the more capable one?</p>
<p>As I watch the races that will be decided tomorrow in primary Super Tuesday, I see challengers to incumbents that do not care more about their districts or states, but who care more for their partisan credentials.  </p>
<p>Across the country I am watching as candidates declare their partisan credentials, not in the traditional way in primaries, but in ways that raise serious concerns to me.  For instance, <a href="http://www.jdforsenate.com/"><strong>J.D. Hayworth</strong></a> in Arizona has said that he is running to be a better conservative.  So far, I have yet to hear him say why he will be a better Senator than John McCain.</p>
<p>And let me be clear: I don’t like <a href="http://www.johnmccain.com/about/"><strong>John McCain</strong></a>.  Never have, never will.  But do we really think that J.D. Hayworth, who couldn’t win reelection to his House seat, will serve the constituents of Arizona better than John McCain?</p>
<p>It’s the same in Pennsylvania.  <strong><a href="http://joesestak.com/splashvote.html">Joe Sestak</a></strong> has barely served two terms in House of Representatives and thinks he can serve better than <strong><a href="http://www.specter2010.com/">Arlen Specter</a></strong>, who has been in the Senate since John Adams was president?  But actually, we don’t hear Sestak talk much about being a better senator; we hear him talking about being a better Democrat.  </p>
<p>I have to say for the record, that after the many years Arlen Specter has spent in the Congress, I completely understand if the people of Pennsylvania feel that they need a new, fresh voice.  The same for Arizona.  </p>
<p>But please do not elect someone because they will be more partisan or a better partisan; Washington doesn’t need any more of that.  We’ve ground to a halt in Congress on anything of substance, and have become so partisanly divided in this country that hate mail, death threats and racial slurs are the way of the land now. </p>
<p>This is unacceptable.  It is unacceptable that people are acting in such ways and it is unacceptable that politicians are pandering to such partisan extremes simply to get votes.</p>
<p> This country was built on compromise, on finding the common way, on building solutions of difficult problems despite disagreements.  The more partisan we become, the less likely we will be to find any real solutions and will only be confronted with legislation forced down our throats by parties in power.</p>
<p>I’d like to see a race based on ideas, initiatives, solutions. But then again, I’d also like a pony…</p>
<p>Watch the blog tomorrow, as I will make public endorsements for the first time ever in a political race!</p>

<p>John McCain is a desperate fight for re-election.  His challenger in the primaries is former congressman J.D. Hayworth, a Republican talk radio host who threw his hat in the ring for the Arizona senate seat.</p>
<p>Hayworth is attacking McCain <em>from the right</em>.  By giving John McCain your liberal endorsement, you&#8217;ll guarantee that those wild and wacky Tea Partiers will support Mr. Hayworth.</p>
<p>That means that Hayworth wins, and the Republican Party gets a little crazier.  The crazier the Republican Party &#8230; the more likely Democrats will keep the White House in 2012.</p>
<p><strong>So what do you say?</strong></p>

<title><![CDATA[An avoidable tragedy]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[I was saddened by the report today of the rancher&#8217;s death in Arizona.  My thoughts and prayers]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:justify;">I was saddened by the <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/29/arizona-ranchers-killing-sparks-calls-beef-border-security/?utm_source=feedburner&#38;utm_medium=feed&#38;utm_campaign=Feed%3A+foxnews%2Fpolitics+%28Text+-+Politics%29&#38;utm_content=My+Yahoo" target="_blank">report</a> today of the rancher&#8217;s death in Arizona.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Border security has been a hot topic in the last 30 years, and with good reason.  Unfortunately, a tragedy such as this was inevitable when the politicians charged with providing for the common defense of our nation are more concerned with rhetoric than taking the action necessary to close the borders and protect American citizens.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The issue will certainly play a large role in the <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/29/tea-partiers-arizona-focus-immigration-security/" target="_blank">Arizona Senate race</a> between John McCain and J.D. Hayworth.</p>
<blockquote style="text-align:justify;"><p>Citing escalating drug violence along the U.S.-Mexico border and the murder of an Arizona rancher found shot to death on his Cochise County property on Saturday, Hayworth said, &#8220;It&#8217;s not only a matter of national security, it&#8217;s a matter of personal security.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align:justify;">While I respect McCain for his service to this nation as a member of the greatest military in the world,  his service as a congressman is another story.  McCain was a co-sponsor, with Ted Kennedy, of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007.  The bill ultimately failed after an outcry from the people who understood the implications of such a measure.  In researching a paper on illegal immigration, I read a book written by J.D. Hayworth called <em>Whatever It Takes: Illegal Immigration, Border Security, and the War on Terror. </em>Hayworth clearly understands the threat posed not only to our economy because of lax border security, but also to the physical safety and security of Americans.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">McCain has spent enough time in DC.  We as a nation must get serious about securing our border and that starts with electing people who truly understand what is at stake and have the principles and fortitude to make the decisions and take the action necessary to defend America and her citizens.  I believe J.D. Hayworth is just such a person.</p>
